Cogito ergo sum. So said the French philosopher and mathematician René Descartes. Cogito ergo sum – I think therefore I am. However monsieur Descartes is wrong because I am not writing this because I think it is a good idea but because Lou does. So it should really be Lou thinks therefore I am. How can you trust a Frenchman speaking Latin? He probably got GMM to use their dodgy online translator to do the job for him. Do you still visit us Andy?

F1 is on a 3 week break just now so clearly we are bored and nothing has happened all weekend. Well not exactly. I think we expected to be but there has been plenty to keep us occupied. There has been plenty of on track action. Chip Ganassi has had a great weekend with Memo Rojas and Scott Pruett winning the Grand Am race at Watkins Glen and Juan-Pablo Montoya winning the NASCAR Sprint Cup Race at the same venue much to Mr C’s chagrin as he was convinced JPM would crash with ten laps to go. Dario Franchitti clinched the hat trick for Ganassi and Target by winning the IRL race at the Mid Ohio Sports Car Course.

Not all the racing news was good though. Red Bull’s F1 design genius Adrian Newey added to his growing accident collection while having a guest drive in a Ginetta G50. He was taken to hospital but is reported to be OK.

As ever the sidepodpeeps have been showing their creativity. Lou has a post on the importance of a livery to a racing car while Amy has posted part 1 of her Australian GP weekend trilogy. You can’t rush quality. Since yesterday was Sunday and for once Alex was not doing a Judith Chalmers impression we had the Giggles Radio V show. It was great as always but unfortunately you can’t watch the re-run because Justin TV decided not to record it. Finally Alianora has published her latest post on the F1 rules and for once I can read a rule and not only understand it but understand all the possible clarifications of it. This may be a unique event.

We also had the final of the Sidepodcast Character Cup final which was won by pre-event favourite Karun Chandhok although Rubens Barrichello also picked up a lot of votes. Thanks to all those who voted and tweeted about this competition.

It’s ages since we had any kind of game on sidepodcast that everyone could get competitive about. I managed to get some people hooked on the Only Connect online game as well as the TV program a while ago so when I found the online version of Mastermind this week I though I would add the link in here and let people see how knowledgeable they are. As with the TV show you have to select a specialist subject to answer questions on then answer on general knowledge. I hope these are not geo-locked. I have tried a few specialist subjects and seem to score better than I would expect on subjects I know little about and not significantly better on subjects I would expect to do much better with. Just remember if you get fired because you spend all day trying to beat your best score it is all Lou’s fault.

If you have any positive comments on this post I will be happy to hear them and any complaints should go straight to Lou. I guess I should leave you now with the traditional – I’ll see you in the comments.
