Hello New Daily! How are you all? Since last time I wrote, I went for a run, which made me a bit tired so I had a restful weekend. I did go to Tivoli Gardens though. Then on Monday, I went for a family day out with work to the Zoo, which was lots of fun and we saw Lion cubs! We then had a lovely dinner and then went home. We got quite lucky too because we’ve had a awful lot of rain lately!
Some links? OK then…
Firstly, if you haven’t listened to the Debrief yet (like me… hey, I’m busy!) then check it out here. Also check out Christine’s Driver and Team Rankings, which includes ducks. CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANDUUUUUUCK!!! Did you know, I had a look at the photos I have been taking lately, and a large proportion of them are of ducks. No, I don’t know why either…
In F1 news, Toro Rosso have a new sponsor, and Lucas Di Grassi is going to race at Surfers Paradise. Allan McNish tweeted a pic about what makes Motorsport great, too ;)
It’s the Frankfurt Motor Show this week and Citroen have rather an odd concept car. Remind you of anything?
Casey Stoner missed an Otter – must have been related to those pesky marmots in Canada, eh?
Here is a very spooky video of two Cleverbots talking to each other. The conversation takes some very odd turns. Here’s how they did it. Sarah Conner was unavailable for comment…
Here is a much nice video involving ink and soap bubbles. I found it very relaxing! Here’s another one which doesn’t look so relaxing ;)
Here is a map of the London Underground with anagrams for names – how many can you figure out?
Have you ever wondered what a song would sound like without the lyrics? Well, here’s how you can try and do it. Doesn’t sound too successful though!
Here are some pics of some sculptures made from recycled tyres. They look awe and then some!
Finally, here’s a link to a mobile gallery of the BMW Art Cars. I recommend watching the video as it’s fascinating. Must admit I quite like the newest one myself.
Have a great day and see you in the comments!
Because ducks are awesome!
Quack!
That is all :)
Jeremy! How's progress? :D
my friends accreditation for Davis Cup has been approved. She might get to interview Roger, ooooh!
If you have a song, and it's instrumental version, you can invert the instrumental wave, play it at exactly the same time as the full song, to get the vocals only. That's a technique some mashup creators use. Noise cancellation technology also does something similar to this I believe,
I wanna know how they make instrumental versions. The methods described in that post are a little slapdash...
So do I
Hooray, I am getting the iPad camera connection kit for Christmas. In october. Maybe I'll rewrap it and act surprised in December :)
Oooh it's very handy!
dad figured it would do me more good in October so I can take it to Korea. Smart man that Charlie :)
It's really cool - a great way to view photos!
Morning all
How well do you know your Formula 1 history?
The book That'll be the Day: 365 F1 Stories takes a look at significant moments or quirky happenings on this day in Grand Prix history. Can you guess what event the following describes?
Morning all
Hi Marti,
How are you today?
Waiting for the man who has to come to repear my computer, which died two days ago.
And you?
Oh dear - these things do happen I suppose.
Not too bad today.
:)
the council have backflipped on the race
http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/more-news/robert-doyle-backflip-on-australian-grand-prix/story-fn7x8me2-1226130911993
because they're not stupid, they say they don't like it to keep the whinging rates payers happy, but they throw cash at it anyway because they realise the benefit :D
Hmmm... thing is, while I understand the tourism benefits of the race, but is it worth $50m? Alas, a politician changes his mid - what a shock (!?!)
they always point out the $50 million taxpayer cost but they did some sort of study that found out there was $40 something million worth of input into the economy so the net loss isn't toooo bad.
I dunno - to be honest, I consider any loss of that size is still too much. Doesn't matter to me, I'm not paying for it.
:)
they're currently spending 1.5 billion on our new public transport ticketing system. $10 million is peanuts in the scheme of things.
Sydney should do that, they have a mad system where you cant buy tickets at a stop or on the bus, but have to wander around looking for a newsagent which hasnt closed!
True, but one may be considered a necessity, while another could be frivolous. I remember when Ireland were pushing for a GP in the '90's - so, so glad that didn't happen.
theres not much wrong with our current ticketing system though :D
i have sussed out which public transport i need to get from the airport to the golf club next friday, i have a 5 minute gap between my train arriving in the city and my bus leaving again, in that gap I have to find a newsagent and buy a bus ticket because the ticket machines at the train station only give out 10x multi tickets and I am not going to be making 10 trips over the 3 days I'm there so I don't want one of those. Soooo dumb.
Plus the airport train isn't running over the weekend I'm there, two trips to Sydney in my life and BOTH of them have fallen on weekends where the train isn't working. I can never find train replacement buses, they hide them!
Hehe! Good luck!
since that'll only affect me going one direction and I'll be with my friend by then it'll probably work out about the same cost to get a taxi than two overpriced Airport Link tickets anyway so I might avoid the whole shebang :D
Are you going there to play golf?
of course not :D
Ah, obviously :) Seems like a strange place for a game of tennis!
I think they wanted to pick somewhere with grass because all of our players are good on it and they were hoping Roger wouldn't show up to save Switzerland. Even though he's confirmed for the tie it seems he could still pull out at anytime, he didn't sound very positive in his press conference yesterday :(
Im not even remotly sure how the davis cup works, seems like they play a couple of matches then GB get relegated each year :)
Dont they have a grass court stadium in Brisbane?
theres probably grass courts at the qld tennis centre but the main court is hard. Kooyong is grass all year except for when the actual Kooyong tournament is on :D Theres not enough seats there though for what a drawcard they knew this match up would be.
It looks like quite a snooty golf club :D
With a big tennis stadium?
with enough space to put up lots of temporary grandstanding. From google maps they appear to have about 12 courts.
They usualy are! Make sure you wear tailored trousers & a belt with a shirt with a collar tucked in :)
the tickets say enter via the street which is the back road behind the courts. Can't have us great unwashed going anywhere near the club house :)
Ah, the posh golf clubs here have seperate clubhouses and driving ranges for their par 3 courses to keep people like me away from the nice bits :)
I'm glad the local clubs here aren't like that, they are mostly run by normal people apart from a few
you need a ha ha
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ha-ha
Oh and before I forget, congrats to PJ Harvey. A nice win on the ol' Mercury (not called Music) Awards last night.
It was almost funny and sad watching folks from the mainstream media going "who..?"
:)
My school had one!
Not this ha ha?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIrhVo1WA78
:D
Not to be confused with laughter.
:) :)
I was amazed that there was some poor person called pjharvey on twitter who suddenly was trending yesterday and didn't know who pj harvey was!11
The mainstream media surely know who she is, it isn't like she's obscure these days.
You'd be surprised Pat, you'd be surprised...
even I know who she is and I have heard of NO ONE these days.
I had never heard of her untill 3 comments ago and i read a lot of news
she isn't really these days though is she? well she is again, but she also was from before
thats true, I think I know her from the 90s.
she also won the mercury 10 years ago didn't she?
One of the most successful British artists of the last 25 years, but always falls short of the "pop news" (as it were)
Her latest album is one of the biggest selling that she's ever released.
Yes, and got a lot of publicity from it. Not much radio airplay though, from what I recall. She seems to be one of those artists who all the DJs like and sometimes talk about but never play. Might be different on the evening/specialist shows/stations.
And also pretty much the only famous person who went to my school. :)
Don't get me wrong I just didn't want anyone to think she'd just arrived because the mercuries were announcing her or something crazy like that!
Its quite a niche award though, i mean if you asked me to name a winner of the mercury music award the only one i could name would be her (as we were just talking about it)
Its probably more on a par with the man-booker prize rather than say the BAFTAS
I think that is almost certainly true. I could name lots of winners of all three but then I'm not representitive of normal :)
I have not heard of more winners from the last 10 years than I have heard of.
Except for you Pat
Wasn't implying that at all.
It's not called a music award anymore though. Off the top of my head, Primal Scream, M People, Ms Dynamite, Elbow and Speech Dabelle won it, but can't remember the rest right now.
;)
It is a bit known for picking an odd winner, usually better to look at the nominees, that list is usually quite a good reflection of the year's music more so than the winner I reckon.
Very much agree.
I remember what seemed like a very accurate discussion of the mercury awards picking criteria years ago on 6 music. I think they suggested it was more about the award getting credibility from the artists than the other way around.
That was the principal - album quality over popularity / sales figures, which is rarely a good judge of quality.
:)
I was going to say Primal Scream, Elbow, Gomez, Speech Debelle, Antony & the Johnsons, then I get stuck. Dizzee Rascal?
Ehhhh.... I can't remember if Dizzee Rascal was a winner or just nominated
Just checked - yep, he won it in 2003
a winner who falls into the "i've heard of them!" category.
I've heard of them solely because they used Lewis Hamilton as a lyric. Go me.
I don't mean that. What I mean is that they deliberately pick an odd choice to go, "hey we're cool and hip and we like this thing you've probably not even heard of".
But it's not always true, Different Class by Pulp got picked, the Artic Monkies first album. Having just looked back at the list I have discovered that I own every album that's ever won except the M People one and the Speech Debelle one.
its a he not a them, same thing :D
:)
What song is lewis hamilton in?
it was about money
I know what you mean. It garnered that perception, when most of the winners would actually be classed as Radio 1 type artists, but it's still veers toward critical reception rather than sales numbers.
:)
I remember there was a lot of upset about Anthony and the Johnsons for some reason with lots of people saying, "who"?
I think I had already seen them live when they won.
People keep walking past me so I can't check the list yet but it is here if people want to see
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercury_prize
I wonder what the Mercury's would be like if Bernie was in charge? What artist would be ripe for a bit of DRS...?
the last person I saw live was Eddie Vedder and the next person I see live is going to be Chris Cornell.
I am firmly stuck in the mid 90s :D
I was one of those who said, "who?". Not that I minded, part of the point of it is to highlight stuff you might not've heard before.
I own 5 out of the 20 winners.
And not enough of the nominees. I want more money now..
I concur. If only I hadn't bought that F1 team, I'd still be loaded
;)
Now I see the list of nominees, I think the real reason people were surprised was because Bloc Party, Coldplay, Hard-Fi, KT Tunstall and Kaiser Chiefs were on the list. Those albums were all huge that year, and if they wanted a 'from the side' pick they might've gone for The Go! Team.
I own 1 of them and have listened to a total of 4
I remember at the time thinking they were going to chose MIA. Oh well.
He'd move the results show from BBC2 to Sky Arts.
Actually, the Mercury Awards charges artists to enter, so it'd be right up Bernie's street...
F1M ping: http://www.f1minute.com/news/williams-announce-growth-interim-financial-reports
hehehehee
Remember how F1 scheduled its Austin date on the same day as the NASCAR season finale, and how that might be a bad idea with all the press?
Well, Joe reckons it might be a good idea, if they schedule the F1 race to be on first.
http://joesaward.wordpress.com/2011/09/07/dates-and-timezones/
To be honest, I thought that was always going to be the case?
I hadn't seen it anywhere
They're not that stupid at F1 towers. They know full well the significance of NASCAR's final day
Now it needs to be on a network and not flooded with commericals!
That rules out Speed......
;)
the point raised by an article yesterday, was that many/most US motorsport journalists will be in miami. all the pre-weekend talk will be about the showdown in miami and it will be the same on monday.
what chance does f1 have of getting any coverage or press?
so yeah, i think they probably are that stupid. or at least significantly narrow minded not to look outside the f1 bubble.
Same as always - even on a regular NASCAR weekend.
There's no coverage now - ESPN for example don't have any F1 / IndyCar journo's, but up to seven that cover NASCAR.
The sad reality about the US is that unless they deliver a race / title wining driver, F1 will never be on ESPN Sportcentre, which is the sports show that matters in the US.
point is, if f1 really cares about changing its perception with US fans, this isn't a smart way to go about it (but neither was booking a race in austin in the middle of summer).
ultimately it suggests the sport doesn't really care.
which it doesn't.
I just think a bigger aspect is when / if the get a US driver in the field. There's no impetus for a US following for F1, because they've no racers in the field - that's far more important.
This is mostly true, perhaps they are banking on being on the same pages as all the NASCAR coverage, if that's at its annual height then being alongside it might not be all bad. That's if they can spare journos to go.
maybe, but that wasn't joe's point.
joe raises an interesting suggestion about race-twinning, but i think missed the issue of press coverage entirely.
NASCAR has 38 races per year though - F1 will always be a far distant 2nd, regardless of weekend the race is on.
F1 would have been far cleverer to run the race on a NASCAR-less weekend.
i think they simply didn't check. bernie/fia made the only calendar they could that makes it possible to squeeze 20 races into a season. where else can they put the austin race?
organisers only found out about the change via international media. no-one even asked them.
yes. that was the point of the article joe is responding to.
I thought it was promising scheduling the follow-on race roughly in their timezone too (Brazil).
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/globe-drive/new-cars/motorsports/formula-one-sets-itself-up-for-another-failure-in-us/article2154788/
Which brings F1 back to June / July...
why? swap brazil and austin and you have an f1 race when the nascar season is over.
Possible, but then you have a championship finale in a territory where no one cares about the sport. It might as well be in Abu Dhabi in that case.
Are we sure that's right? I thought they'd pushed for a later race, it wasn't that they discovered it would be November thru media, they discovered they'd got the preferred date. My impression.
did they have a preferred date, or did they just say "not july"? *shrugs*
Publically I thought they gave a vague "say November sort of time" answer
That might have been interpretations from the media writing about it at the time though
Personally, I don't think F1 would get too many more column inches if they went for a NASCAR-less weekend. Maybe a few more, but not a lot.
Also, if F1 made a better race than NASCAR on the same day (which is possible now), then F1 would look a lot better than if it raced on its own weekend without any basis for comparison.
than the championship showdown finale? would have to be hell of a race. brazil '09 or better then.
Just occurred to me that if there any common sponsors they could invite NASCAR drivers along. Mobil 1, Tony Stewart.
To race or to appear? I think IndyCar already tried that.
;)
Turn up, be seen, demo their car
Distance might be an issue though - Miami and Texas are well over 1,000 miles apart.
I was replying to the idea that Brazil and USA might switch weeks. Shouldn't take a week to drive from Miami to Austin.
Oh, of course
:D

Evening Lou, evening all
Enjoy a little something from the Sidepodcast back catalogue.

Ahh just heard the news about Ant not being able to race at Silverstone after all :( poor guy he must be gutted. Heath and recovery first tho.
Is that due to his bike accident?
yep! :( feel so bad for him. Could mean he's back on comms duty tho?
If Pat's around is he still planning on going to the race this weekend? I'm not sure i can make it as i have to get things sorted for uni, but i hope lots of sidepodpeople go! I wanna see lots of pictures :)
I'll be going! Hoping not to get soaked..
Shame you can't make it but start of a uni year is very busy, best to get that sorted.
Whatever the weather keep reminding yourself.. 'it's not as bad as Spa... it's not as bad as Spa'... and if it's worse then... good luck! ;)
That's a shame. In a way I'm glad though because if he'd raced without it healing fully it could've made it worse. Hopefully he'll be fit for Petit Le Mans.
That picture he posted runs through my head at least once every time I'm on a bike. Which is a lot nowadays.
I really wish i could go, could even attempt driving it (although probably not too wise), this house stuff has taken so long to get sorted moving in is a bit of a rush. Taking some stuff down tomorrow and i'm yet to get organised! eek!
If it is any more than light rain I'll stay in the covered stands! Hopefully they'll open a few of them.
ohh yes! better to be safe and well and healthy before any type of racing. He seems positive he will be so fingers crossed! :)
ohhh yes! hopefully they will! We need to get you a big Honda umbrella! :)
for lou and people who take pictures: http://www.macworld.com/article/162157/2011/09/carousel.html
Carousel, which is based on Adobe’s Photoshop Lightroom technology, lets you view, browse, adjust, and share your photo collection without having to worry about manual syncing or storage... Once photos are imported, any modifications to the library from any device, such as edits, imports, or deletions, are detected and show up almost immediately on any linked account.
so do a basic edit on your ipad on the road, and tweak it properly when you get hold of a mouse. love it. gonna save us sooo much repetitive editing.
Sounds interesting but not for the casual snapper:
...an introductory price of $60 per year or $6 per month. Introductory subscribers can renew for an additional two years at that price. When the introductory period ends, on January 31, 2012, the price rises to $100 per year
GAH! Petit Le Mans is the same weekend as the Great American Beer Festival. Don't they know I'm gonna be drunk the whole weekend!?!?
Pretty sure that'll exclude you from driving
agreed.
ohhhh that's interesting, if i had an ipad i'd consider it.. but the price kinda puts me off a bit too :(
the technology is interesting tho, if i get the job i'm going for it'll certainly be worth looking into.
I coulda been a contenda!
Yeah it is worth getting all that sorted first, not good to start the academic year all flustered because things aren't ready.
If it turns out you do go, it should be 2 hours from Farnham and is 25 quid on the gate, and the green flag is at 11.30am.
Do they let you take the beer home? Stock up for a ten hour race..
yeah, last thing i want is to get a project and my room be a mess!
I'll still be home this weekend i think, but it'll depend on if i get any motorway practice in the next few days i think :) Kinda wanna go just cause i'll be able to drive myself to a race event *falls on the floor with joy!*
it puts the ipad into the workflow for the first time. until now, ipad editing was just a temporary thing we did until we got the images back to lightroom. we then had to try and repeat those edits before working on finer details. it makes the ipad into something of a working draft tool.
I tend to bring my laptop to events with me (something i couldn't do before i got my mac!) it certainly makes the ipad seem like a better investment.
Hi all
Have you passed your test now?
That would be awesome, but no.
today! had a year and a half off and been having a few lessons this past week/ driving mum EVERYWHERE. all the hours driving this past week have paid off tho :)
also makes the eyefi a worthwhile investment. snap pics, sync with ipad which syncs with cloud. in theory and unlimited amount of pictures can be taken. regardless of card size.
ahhhhhh when i win the lottery i'll have that kinda setup and everyone at uni will be jealous :)
Congrats. So now you can dump your mother and go have some fun. The important things with motorways are pay a lot of attention to your mirrors because people are coming way faster than you think and when you leave the motorway slow down way more than you think is necessary because 40mph feels like 4.
Well done!
eyefi is £40 and carousel is £4 a month. you can get that with just four numbers :)
If you have an iPad already :)
ahh yes. lou has an ipod touch though?
wohooo!!! I can go to tracks whenever i like and take pics, and well it's impossible to go anywhere from my house without a car or a parent so i'm finally free!
I've names my little VW Fox Felipe.. i thought naming him Jenson would be too much :) Besides Felipe is a sweet name :)
ahhh thanks, my driving instuctor says i could always do a pass plus scheme or she'd let me have one lesson with her to get some help. Either way i shall take note of this, motorways seem kinda scary!
Thank you :)
ah yes, but it's breaking and the battery life is useless. I think i'd want an iPad with that set up tho because you'll get to see the photo better.
Felipe Fox has a ring to it. I bet it feels like it is yours finally
It's worth having the extra time with an instructor. Once you get used to the speed and the rate signs come at you motorway driving is easy because everyone is going the same way.
we shall try and test it out. apparently i need to upgrade to lion though. eek.
The M40 would be good motorway practice. ;) Not the M25, skip that. Great to have some freedom though!
taking the L plates off felt like an amazingly huge deal earlier.
ahh i'm sure it's like most driving, the more times you do it the easier it gets. Just hope i can get a lesson booked soon! :)
M25 is only good for testing your reactions and brakes
only issue i've had with my mac since upgrading is that sometimes the wifi connection 'time out's ' soo annoying, but usually it fixes itself.
Motorways around major urban areas are nerve-wracking, motorways well away from them are the easiest thing in the world.
Luckily we have a few junctions which are pretty close to each other which i think will be good for practice. unfortunately i have to go on the M25 to get to Farnham. That'll be a laugh.
Exactly. The more you do the easier it gets. The trick is to concentrate as hard when it is easy. Most accidents are because people are not paying attention because -I have been driving for XX years - I know this road like the back of my hand - I didn't know he was going to do that (beacuse no-one had done it the previous 500 times I drove that road)
Blimey that person was so bad at concentration they put the letters XX where they meant to put how many years they had been driving ;)
The M25 you have to be careful with so many lanes and variable speed limits (and cameras) between Gatwick and Heathrow.
The good thing about being at Farnham is you can zip up and down the M3 to Southampton all day if you wanted to, and avoid the mess around London.
You will be using the bottom part of the M25 which is sooooo much better than the north part near Heathrow. You will just be getting into the annoying bit when you head to Farnham
:D
ahh :D i really enjoy driving so i honestly can't wait until i can head out on my own. But yes i'll take note of the advice. :)
You better. If not I will SHOUT at you ;)
:D hehe
if it gets worse than the bit we have to do, which is always chaos, i'm not sure i wanna go any further north.
It gets a lot worse. I used to drive the longer way round and pay to go through the tunnel to avoid the section from the M6 junction to past Heathrow. I was probably doing 40 miles more than I would going the other way but it was easier and faster to go the long way
ohh goodness! no i don't ever wanna get stuck in that!
I should add that you don't have to pay fro the tunnel/bridge now
You don't? That must've relieved some of the traffic pressure there, not having to stop.
evening all! :)
am guessing you don't mean the Dartford crossing?
helloooo!
Not since the bridge was built. Now traffic goes one way on the bridge and the other direction through the tunnel. The made it all motorway so no stopping
Yes. When the 25 was first built it was just the Dartford Tunnel
well done you :D
Hi Lukeh
The other day in the comments, Alison mentioned that Nick got a Lego Advent Calendar and it pretty much blew my mind...
...well, when I got home from work today, I had a big parcel from Amazon sent by a mysterious Mr Giggles.... :D
Class :)
Evening. My new diary is ruined. Courier propped parcel up behind my bin in the rain.... Not hugely impressed!
Couldn't they have just left it at a neighbours?
Apparently not....!! So annoying! I hate all those home courier services they all seem to use now.
They ust have known the packaging was not waterproof
Did the bin sign for it?
Intriguing
FOTA Fans Forum podcast with @NobleF1 talking to the panel, in the can thanks to the lovely people from @5LiveF1 & @USPcontent. Out tomorrow - @gcreighton
I shouldn't complain.... My friend had a parcel put in the bin to keep it out the rain..... on bin day.
We need a S T U N N E D smiley
:D
cool, they did the last one too.
although they aren't doing autosport's weekly podcast. oddly.
*hugs*
Awwww <3
Boooo for typing errors!! I found an amazing deal on flight to see Nick at Christmas. Put it in my basket, went to buy it and it keeps saying error. I search for it again and it's gone up £100.... No wonder it looked like a good deal. It isn't the price...

Good eveningtide
Hiya giggles. merry christmas :)
'tis the season and all :)
And we can talk about it on Sidepodcast because despite the #nochristmas rule the whole rule is about not having rules about when people get presents... And nobody was expecting the
spanish inquisitionlego advent calendarThere is no words to explain my confusion at getting a big amazon box from my neighbour when I got home from work. That combined with Lou's absolutely wonderful news made for quite the mindblowing half hour or so :D
#sidepodspacehistory
It's funny how some things work out. Jim Lovell who Christine now knows is a real person http://mrschristine.com/2011/08/17/in-the-shadow-of-the-moon-field-notes/ should never have been the commander of Apollo 13. Standard practise was the back up crew for one mission was the crew for the mission 3 later. Therefore the back up commander for Apollo 10 Gordon Cooper http://www.jsc.nasa.gov/Bios/htmlbios/cooper-lg.html who was one of the original 7 NASA astronauts should have been the commander of 13. Lovell http://www.jsc.nasa.gov/Bios/htmlbios/lovell-ja.html was Neil Armstrong's back up for Apollo 11 so would have been the first man on the moon had Armstrong not been able to fly and should have been the commander of 14. Cooper retired. Lovell moved one step up the ladder and as a result never walked on the moon even though he went there twice and could easily have been the first man to walk on it. Tough break. I bet Cooper is glad he retired although it must have been tough to do that when a moon mission was so close.
Oh yes congratulations to Lou... And no need for a blowtorch from what I hear :)
Now I am confused
Lou passed her driving test... Lukeh was the last sidepodder I can remember passing their test... and Lukeh and driving tests = blowtorch... Surely this is #sidepodhistory
The old joke we had with that using a blowtorch to park a car cartoon that was posted in the comments and how it reminded me of my driving lessons :)
oddly if I search site:sidepodcast.com blowtorch only the love bug film watch comes up, but I think the new comments have maybe confused google
recall! congrats to lou.
i also tried, and was surprised not to find it!
we've excluded comments from search. mostly because it became impossible to find anything.
#confidential
That's fine :) I always used sidepodsearch for articles and google search for comments... But then sidepodsearch went a bit wonkoloid so yeah I understand
I know the history but I thought that only applied to Lukeh
Luckily I can remember everything so I don't have to worry too much :)
Well indeed. Lou didn't need one :)
#wonkoloid
I can promise you Lou's parking would be a lot better than mine so I'll hold onto the blowtorch :)
I just read a story about a footballer being contacted by a 'neapolitan mafia'. I love the idea of an ice cream based mafia!
you need to patent the andronov database.
search will come back when we have time to move comments to sidepodcastdaily.com - then you can search one site for comments and another for everything else.
perfection :)
I was going to mention to you mr c that there seems to be something a bit broken about the Sidepodcastdaily page on iOS. If you go to that page then go to another app and come back it seems to lose the main (lower frame).
Actually when testing it just now it seems to just be broken.
On iOS
yeah, it's a 5minute hack. other stuff to do first.
:D
Well done Lou!!!!
Okie doke. Just so long as you know. I hit it regularly because I always check the homepage first then click realtime. Now I do that then press back and type /realtime.
I have found awesome cheap flight again and BOOKED it!!! Happy happy holiday times!!! :D
WooHOO
Celebration time!!! Much much stress was caused yesterday.... All forgotton!
I have just discovered how to embed a Picasa slideshow into Wordpress.com, when their help site said it wasn't possible. #winning
That's tomorrow's blog post ready. Now I must finish writing today's and the Daily.
Dubai?
Yes. I'm going for Christmas ♥
Awesome
I love my cooking skills, put eggs in water to boil and forgot them there for 2 hours. #notgood - @TonyKanaan
:D
That didn't take long
It'll be weird having Christmas in the desert surely
It's only taken me several days!?
I found a good flight about 3 weeks ago but Nick didn't want to book and then I looked yesterday and it was like triple the price. Bad times.

I guess so. Worth it I think!
He must have had the same cooking lessons as Mr C
Come on now. He didn't put the box in there!
Ouch :)
woah.
#sorrymrc
Neither did Mr C
Did I imagine him putting the pizza in the oven still in the box? That happened didn't it?
ALEXXXX!!
Cellophane not box
I see :D
Thank you for all the nice messages everyone :) sorry was celebrating plus trying to sort our sky box out. :)
Someone else recently said they put pizza in with the cardboard under it but my brain is too screwed up to remember who
grrr grrrrr grrrrr the more it rains in New York the more the US Open gets delayed the later the final is likely to be and the less likely Roger is to make it to Sydney. Grrrrrr.
That's if he makes the final of course :)
Stupid no roof.
Surely they must have had this problem before
am pleased I'm not the only one annoyed. Mum even said earlier 'goodness this is worse than wimbles' just wanna watch Andy's match dammit!
if the mens final gets moved to Monday it will be the fourth year in a row.
They must have a hint of a problem by now
the main dude was doing interview today, he's still pretty staunchly "no roof" because theres no way they can put one on the monstrosity that is Arthur Ashe and they don't want to put a roof on a stadium thats not "the main one"
Best not to have any play then
the TV schedules are still so precious that they tried to make them play on damp courts anyway, thats why the players revolted today :D
So no roof but they can play in puddles? Interesting
meanwhile we have the least rain delays out of all the slams and they're currently building our third roof
We? There is an NZ slam?
Melbourne, I am part of it :D
Shocking
doesn't make me remotely Australian :D
Not what it sounds like
I like Melbourne!
Double-ping!
