Today is Saturday, the penultimate day of January and the start of the weekend. Most importantly this means we can sleep. Both halves of Sidepodcast are officially under the weather today, and the lovely Christine is suffering the most.
Despite us working at less than full capacity on Friday, there were plenty of events to discuss both inside and outside of the F1 scene.
- Kimi got his full time rallying career off the ground on Friday, and we're committing to covering his progress this year, starting with a dedicated Arctic Rally thread. It's a new and confusing category of motor sport for us to fathom, and Räikkönen appears to have much to learn too.
- Yesterday's Friday Fun topic got everybody reminiscing on classic Formula 1 launch parties in year's gone by. I'll happily go on record and say things certainly seemed more exciting back in my day.
- The McLaren team threw back the covers on their 2010 challenger the MP4-25 less than 24 hours ago, but an early leak of press images via Dank on Twitter took the edge off the silver machine's unveiling. That said, the rest of the event in Newbury went off without a hitch, with the live stream offering far more useful coverage than Ferrari's pathetic efforts the previous day.
- If you haven't already, please take a look at Adie's write-up from a day inside Vodafone HQ. It's commendable that McLaren took the initiative to open doors and recognise bloggers efforts to break into mainstream F1 journalism. Although it has been noted that the team from Woking happily opened someone else's factory doors, rather than their own.
- As a final word on launches, I recommend reading Joe's thoughts on viewing from the comfort of one's armchair. With zero hope of an exclusive, why would professional journalists travel from far and wide to experience the same thing as those watching at home (or even less if you factor in the leaked photographs)? There's plenty more to be discussed on this subject, do watch for more posts later today.
Apologies to anyone waiting on F1 Minute or F1 Big Picture, I may be trusted to handle a stand-in daily post, but my talents only stretch so far (plus I charge by the hour, don't ya know?). Here's wishing Christine a speedy recovery.
lewis takes credit for team mate (sorta):
"Something you won't know is that I actually called (McLaren team principal) Martin (Whitmarsh) and said 'What about Jenson?"
http://uk.reuters.com/article/idUKTRE60T00720100130
morning boys and girls
Get better soon Christine, didn't know you were under the weather too Mr C, here's to a restful weekend full of recovery for you both :)
Interesting.
thanks you lou. i sleep in a bit.
Evening
just how bad was heikki?
#sorryamy
err... hi
hi
sorry to hear that you are not feeling so great on this most awesome of awesome saturdays
this makes me slightly annoyed.. yet not enough to bother being annoyed.. didn't he say that he didn't know about the Jenson deal or something back in december? i may be wrong, it could have been something like they hadn't met up.. but hmmmm....
Both? Oh no! Get well soon. Does this mean you are both banned?
It should get easier to understand and follow when the WRC starts.
morning! i can't wait for Federer vs Murray on Sunday! :) comments are gonna be awesome too :)
today is going to be good toooo! I am off down there shortly to watch the boys and girls finals, I shall cheer Laura for Britain!
why is this saturday the most awesome of awesome?
Serena Williams v Justine Henin. It's my first slam final! The only thing that will top it will be my second slam final :D
Both of you should wrap up, get some Paracetamol and Ibuprofen Taken, drink plenty of water (not Red Bull) and just relax. Heres hoping you feel better soon.
It is exactly what I expected of Lewis - he wants the headlines and yes he said something about not knowing about Jenson. I am afraid he is totally untrustworthy when it comes to making statements to the press as is Ross Brawn.
no excuse for dissing hockey-cokey though. although we did have a dedicated kimi thread, i guess.
I recommend Ribena in pint glasses.
your diss was not as bad as lukehs!
are you going to SEE the murray v fed match??
what did he say?..
oh, and in Boots you can get these packs of vitamin c things that dissolve in water, one of those a day when you're feeling under the weather really helps.
noted.
Pretty cool
warmed up?
ooh, sports colliding.
Judy Murray says in her blog "Got a good luck text from Anthony Hamilton, Lewis's dad ahead of the final on Sunday, which was nice"
awesome!!! :D
Not tried that. Just keep drinking it. Also works for hangovers. A bit.
She couldn't see the Burning Stare though.
Nice to see him getting some good coverage. They never got a name like Hamilton from an Englihman anyway.
he said "It's got an awful fin :(
And I thought Heikki left!"
:D :(
ahh, she has quite a good one of her own.
Hypnodad
His spirit lives on though!
ehehehe *stifles giggles* i'm sure you can get you're own back at spa :P
kinmanship
i'm off to sleep now, night all xx
night lou
night
Night Lou
See you guys :)
nighty night.
night
I appear to have gone mental on Facebook and Twitter. At least I can delete on Facebook.
Hello all
:-)
Hey
Just having a few Buds and wondering if I'll see USF1 in Montreal...or Bahrain for that matter
I'll say yes. There's a nose anyway. That's more than Campos Meta
I've seen the stuff online, but also heard what Bernie is saying, I hope it's his dementia on the loose. I so much want to be in the grandstands when the USF1 comes out for FP1
I expect they'll be there. They won't be all that fast.. and some of more casual fans in attendance might be disappointed..
It's going to be two fellows running round with Wheelbarrows isn't it?
I've pulled for Minardi before....I can do it again
No that's StefanGP
I miss Minardi
ahh
So do I, but with the new points scoring, I suspect USF1 will stumble ass-backwards into a few points if they're on the grid
anyone going to watch the 24 hours of Daytona?
*Absolutely jealous*
No regrets about moving to Melbourne, then? :D
But you won't cheer Murray for Britain? :P
She will, I think. *jealous*
Everyone has to see Fed play in person at least once in their lives...
Does anyone know how Pierluigi Martini bagged himself 7th Position on the grid in 1993?
At Hungary. (must stop drinking)
Stumbling ass backwards
Never mind that, how did he get onto the front row at Phoenix in 1990?!
Nah, StefanGP will have Toyotas, at least. Can't say the same just yet for USF1.
That was before my F1 time, but wow.
Who cares, it was a great moment for over achievers everywhere. I still remember Luca crying by the side of his broken down Minardi...that's why I wanted him to score points for Ferrari. Later I just wanted him to stop getting speeding penalties.
Wow indeed. Too bad he stuffed the start. That did allow Alesi to challenge Senna, though...
:D
I'm sure I'll find a way to watch some of it. You? You should follow the Blogathon.
Pirellis?
They have a nose.... that can be attached to a Wheelbarrow. A carbon fibre Wheelbarrow.
ah no that was Pirellis
Nah, it was only Goodyears then.
Nah, Pat's right. Pirelli was around til 1991.
Not for Hungary '93 though
and Wikipedia does say:
PING my own plug of it http://toomuchracing.com/2010/01/30/2nd-furious-wedge-blogathon/
True. Although Minardi had quite a number of flashes of brilliance that year.
I think the coverage of the 24 hours will be through changing weather, so it'll be fun
The 4th place from Christian Fittipaldi in the opening GP at Kyalami was because of reliability. Remember his 360 degree flip over the finish line at Monza has stuck with me though. Did he run into his teammate?
Well over here, Eurosport will show the first hour and the last hour I think... and I don't have Eurosport.
I'll be asking Justin.
Indeed he did!
he did
Will Radio Le Mans cover it?
I hope you can get it, I think SpeedTV in the States will show about 17 hours of it
I've no idea actually..
Probably the same this year because of the football
They don't usually and in the summer Hindy went on a rant at how they should be reaching to an international audience... but he's connected to ALMS
Speed has something like 17 hours as Joe said. They sometimes do live-streaming during the off-air periods. Otherwise there will certainly be places to find the feed elsewhere online.
Anyway. Must sleep. Hoping to get back to some golf tomorrow, even if the ground is still too wet. First time in ages other than that one time when there was ice on the ground...
Night Pat. As for me, breakfast!
night Pat, although I can think of better things to do than Golf.
Actually, no, I can't. Enjoy yourself! :)
Yeah, it looks like a little under 12 hrs, but you'll get replays of good stuff....so looking forward to cars going fast and turning more than one direction
I like how they interrupt the race at 10pm (eastern) for 4 hours of Toyota Celebrity racing. Stars in reasonably priced cars!
I remember the good old days where they did THE 24, even if they did 4-6 hours of Radio Le Mans voice with international feed video.
Speed Really has lost it in the past years.
Hey guys down for the count, see you later!
See you Joe
Finished drinking.
Night All Commenters
See you around this weekend.
Hope Mr & Mrs C get well soon. Leave us lot to it if you're still not 100%.
We'll get by, somehow. (Haven't thought that one through)
I love being in the Pacific time zone. Everyone leaves for bed when I get here.
laura robson lost. Andy is more than welcome to do the same
Poor laura. Still... I agree about Andy. :D
Morning everyone :)
I have been informed that today I may well be going ice skating!
Morning all. I am sneaking a hello while Mr C isn't looking.
#confidential
are you not supposed to be on?
Sorry you're not well. I'll see if I can get Katherine to video me ice skating. That's bound to cheer you up :)
I can hear seagulls. Normally this means there is a storm and all the gulls have come inland. But here it just means... Well not much really :)
Yes please :)
Morning gang
Hello all, listening to David Tennant & Catherine Tate on Radio 2. They just interviewed Ricky Gervais. It's completely unprofessional but excellent radio at the same time
PS Can't wait for the ice skating video Alex ;)
morning all....
Hey everyone, how is everyone today? I hope mr and mrs c are feeling a little better.
woohoo, I am home. First finals day was brilliant, second will be even better (I hope)
I think there is a video on the drop.
Yay! That helps :)
hurrah!!!
Although I look a bit drunk I swear I'm not!
So who here can ice skate? Because I can't although I didn't fall over.
I could last time I tried but that was at least 10 years ago
I have only been once and did not fall over. Just like skiing, I don't really want to go again and risk falling over and hating it :)
Wait, Christine's ill? It's not....
...MAN FLU?!?!?
Afternoon all. Seems oddly quiet in the world today. I think everyone's avoiding me...
Afternoon all
Anyone checking out the Daytona 24 Hours later? :P
Wait, that's next weekend I think.
I'm stupid. Carry on.
No wait, it is this weekend! I thought it was, mainly because of this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Gs5T7e9QbY
I tried that last year - so difficult but cool!
Hahaha! I don't think that's allowed, is it?
Kimi's new website design scares me. http://www.kimiraikkonen.com/
I don't like the way the eyes move
That's because the real Kimi's eyes don't move ;)
PING: http://sidepodcast.com/2010/01/30/autosport-magazine-to-add-digital-option/
that is weird!
Good evening all.
chap.
PING: http://sidepodcast.com/2010/01/30/fantasy-racers-panda-racing-2010/
Everning all :)
Have they even done qualifying yet at Daytona? Nothing's come up on Autosport yet.
Is this it?
The Daytona 24 Hours is dying a slow death, I feel. Damn you, NASCAR! (It's a NASCAR-controlled series if you're wondering)
Lack of proper media coverage, no works teams, spec chassis and engines and significant lack of big name drivers from sportscars mainly because they all come from NASCAR and Indy if they're not from Grand-Am.
And to think, this race used to be part of a world championship alongside Sebring, Le Mans, Spa, the Nordschelife, Monza etc. Now look at it. :(
Will Buxton's announced Petrov to Renault
hmmm. i woulda preferred nick or romain or franck.
money money money, its a rich mans world...
etc
I asked Franck at ASI whether he was still in the running for the 2nd set at the time. He said the chance had gone.
seat*
I'd be very interested to see Petrov is F1. He might have been overshadowed by his team mates in GP2 but he looked pretty good last year. Can understand a team signing him because of the money he is bringing, but he could be developing into a pretty good driver.
In general I'm really interested to see what happens with Renault this year.
Will makes a very good point when he says that Kobayashi wasn't anything special in GP2, despite winning the Asia championship. Contrast that to the impression he made in his two races with Toyota.
Hello
Evening. how art thou?
Reasonable. Yourself?
Tired but good! I was at Brands Hatch today, there was a Bike trackday going round, it feels so good to see track action. I love it
Did you marshal them or were trainees kept well away?
I'm tired because golf after 3 months off turns out to be harder work than when you go every week.
No-one training was doing it, it was all about fire safety etc, non-on track stuff
Who'da thunk walking for 4 hours dragging a big bag around would be tiring? It used to kill me when i hadnt done it for a while
Normally we're tired after 18, today we were getting tired after 13. I could've carried on were it not for my bag breaking (stupid shoulder strap), and Dad could've had his foot not hurt. In any case the place was sodden and there were temporary greens on the fairways, most weren't even cut back, so we weren't counting scores anyway, so we called it there (and played the two that led back to the clubhouse).
Ah I see. Do you get to go back and wave flags?
Next time i'll actualy be properly marshalling, thats when we get to do all the proper marshalling stuff
cool. it looks fun but hard work
yeah, the long days will be a killer i think
Must get food going, back soon and then I may catch up with comments before the blogathon and Daytona..
How are you feeling today Mrs C?
Ping MrC, Robert Llewellyn @BobbyLew also has a few things to say about iPad and Flash :-)
Mm, better thank you.
Not I. I've tried a few times and I just keep trying to walk on it :-) Eventually when I do figure how to slide along, I'm so rigid it hurts all mi'joints...
I like that, thanks Scott
Just a note on something I mentioned the other day about Vision Racing, which has shut down (permanently or temporarily?). I was going to write some words about how they broke ground for a racing team's interaction with social media, but I don't need to because Jeff has.
Finally got round to making something for Mr C
http://drop.io/sidepodcast/asset/sidepad-png
thats totally awesome
:-)
oh wow!
I want.
Brilliant! A great post to be featured on it too :D
Ladies and gentlemen, I need some drinking buddies for a Friday in February in London. Interested?
Evening :)
Has anyone mentioned it yet? Eurosport has live coverage of the Daytona 24 hours. They are only showing some of it, but it is on from 9-11pm UK time tonight.
They missed the start. Although it is under yellow because of rain..
evening
Ah its started? Coverage could of been on earlier...not sure
Started 10 mins ago
feeed http://www.justin.tv/crazyodaz#r=RxsJQX0
Currently under full course yellow (pace-car) due to rain. Radar shows rain moving out of the Daytona area within an hour with little or no rain to follow for a while.
Hello sidepodpeeps
So the race started under yellow? Race timer's showing only about 11 minutes has gone.
correct on both counts
Is the rain expected to last?
Hello :)
Speed just said the rain has stopped falling.
I'm too sleeeeepy to get anything done tonight :(
They are also concerned about standing water around some sections of the track. Just announced one yellow lap left.
It's a bit early for you to be sleepy. You are normally still working at this time.
Sounds like Sebring all over again
Yah. I guess the volume of work has caused the sleeeeepy! :P
You would probably be fine if you had to work but because you can laze around you get tired.
Lights are out on the pace car, looks like we're getting underway properly next time round.
Hehe probably. I have left my ben and jerrys at work :(
Shame
Green flag at Daytona.
PING an F1 Big Picture special: http://www.f1minute.com/2010/01/30/celebrating-kimis-arctic-run/
Right on time. Hello everyone.
not that i want to raise a bit issue. but i cant see the picture
oh wait!
i should start reading.
ignore me!
Ganassi Riley-BMW went from 3rd to the lead in 2 corners!
It's the blog post detailing all the pictures. You can also go here: http://www.f1bigpicture.com
nice action early in Daytona!
Name change again....
may we?
Click on the little pic on the right and the big pic appears
Pole-sitting Suntrust Dallara-Ford went from pole to 5th in one lap.
i think i need a disclaimer, "everything said by Jon is likely to be a) utter rubbish b) later proved wrong or c) soon proved wrong
That's real sympathy there.....
I am rooting for the local Team Seattle. Patrick Dempsey-less this time.
aww
i blame my inabiity to read for any real period of time
that and im really really unobservant
No d) absolutely 100% correct? Shame, I had such confidence in you. :P
about an hour
Happy Kathi
#60 Michael Shank Racing Riley-Ford has taken the lead.
not so much. clearly sidepodcast is where i put all my wrong-ness toegether. in one bit pile of wrong
I love the Daytona Prototypes. 500 hp, no traction control, limited carbon fiber, limited down force.
I haz Daytona live timing to go with the feed:
http://grandam.racersites-cluster.com/OrbitsServer/grandam/TimingView.html?sid=692&VN=1076
Has the rally finidhed? Which position did Kimi end up in?
I enjoy them too. Yet I fear because of them, the Daytona 24 Hours is being destroyed. Apparently there's hardly any people in the grandstands this year.
Is upside-down a position?
Where is the feed?
Hehehe never mind!
Don't worry about that. They average about 40,000 people at the race just in the infield!
http://www.justin.tv/crazyodaz#r=RxsJQX0
My mind = Frazled
yes. 58th.
It is a position. Not a very good position but I guess if you are going to try it then it is better to do it in deep snow than on hard gravel or hinkelsteins
Thanks
True story.
Not so good.
ouch. and he had a car advantage against 55 of them.
I am impressed you have resisted using this opportunity to make fun of me :D
#77 McDonalds-backed Doran Racing Dallara-Ford now leading.
I'm far too kind for my own good. I'm sure you won't return the favour.....
2nd if you don't count the stage he went off
#99 Gainsco Racing Riley-Chevy in the pits.
Oh no, i will remember this in the future...
(as a moment of weakness) ;)
Seems like he is going with the Colin McRae early rally career technique. Bounce off everything and see what happens then back it off a little
love the tail slides out of the corners.
That's OK then
Gee thanks. I'm too tired to care at the moment.... I can't sleep now though, I'll wake up at stupid am and be even worse tomorrow
Thinking about it, I'm probably still jet lagged....
Man the McDonald's car is FLYING in the wet!
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is on BBC2 tonight. That is a must watch film
Eeeeeeeeeeek!! I love the film :D
I (heart) the GT grid at Dayton.
All they need are a few Panoz and I would be in heaven.
Love the look of a Mazda, Porsche, and Chevy all fighting it out.
I saw it on DVD when it first came out. I think I would have liked it more if I had not seen the oeiginal TV series but it was very good and everyone needs to watch it because you see references from those stories all over the place.
Pluggety Plug Plug
The Go Motorsport series continues, with Marshal Training
I love how erratic Zaphod is in it, Sam Rockwell pulls it off so well. Plus He's also excellent in the equally excellent Moon, which is also a must watch spacey film in my opinion.
Zaphod was way more manic in the TV series and probably even more that that in the books. The books are superb.
The original TV Zaphod had his second head on his shoulder so you saw both all the time. It was radio controlled but they had all sorts of problems when they filmed it because it kept picking up stray radio signals from taxis and the like and making all sorts of weird moves.
I should really check out the original TV series, seeing how much I enjoy the books and the film
The TV Marvin didn't look so cute and really lookd depressed amd Ford Prefect was white so the film took me a little time to settle into. They definitely did Marvin wrong in the film
Absolutely. I really like the film. I like the TV series and the radio series (1 and 2) and the books. The subsequent radio series (3,4,5) are also worth a listen, they basically recreate the stories from books 3, 4 and 5.
I have never heard any of the radio series although I started watching on TV because someone I worked told me about them then I read the books later.
Well you must. They are the original and definitive versions!
Am I odd in that I didn't particularly like the film? I grew up listening to the radio shows but the film really didn't do it for me.
I thought the film was okay but they chopped a lot out. I loved the series and book
I will add it to my list
ping: http://sidepodcast.com/2010/01/30/kimi-happy-after-arctic-rally-recovery/
(if kathi could check our facts for us, that would be appreciated)
never heard the radio show
There were some things about the film I didn't like. I loved the effect they did when Slartibartfast is showing them around his planet building place. Those effects were incredible
You are doing facts?
It is different and of course Simon Jones is Arthur Dent, but all the main story components came from Douglas Adams' script.
Douglas Adams was well known for rewriting over and over. Geoffry Perkins said he was the only writer that you could leave holding 6 sides of paper full of script at lunchtime and come back to in the afternoon to find he'd only got 2 sides left. The film is just another reworking of the same story.
i'm making stuff up.... as ever.
I understand. I'm not wimpy about plot changes and the like I guess I'm just very fussy about films.
just not claiming it's carefully researched ;)
That's where I differ, I really don't mind if it means it still comes out good. Like with Watchmen, the ending in the graphic novel and film differ and if I'm honest I thought the film's ending was better.
Nooooo that's what I was saying. It's not plot changes that bother me. But I do get very picky about what I like and don't like about films.
Ahh, sorry. Misunderstood your point, reading back I getcha now :)
I'm quite easy to please except one thing - the insistence of remaking old films. I'd much rather watch the original.
I'm a fan of original thought. If you don't have a decent idea behind what you're doing, no amount of special effects or new techniques is going to distract me from it.
agreed.
pluggy: http://www.f1minute.com/2010/01/29/29-jan-10-button-and-hamilton-launch-the-mp4-25/
Yep. We watched Time Bandits the other day. A 30 year old film with mediocre effects, but my children watched and enjoyed it because it's a good story.
Roar.
Guest-posting is fun.
http://furiouswedge.blogspot.com/2010/01/underdog.html
Because I haven't done so in ages, I think I shall write something for A Little Bit Piquet. It's something to do...
How is everyone. I have a headache and I feel like my head's going to explode.
I've had a slight headache all day, with the odd sudden, sharp pain just above my ear. It's really not good.
sounds like you need a rest.
You did have a big day yesterday.
Rolex update:
Track drying out. Times really plummeting. Scott Dixon in the 2 Ganassi in the lead.
Do you think people can be woken with the power of the mind? Here's hoping.... :P
No but Sidepodping works.
NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK
True, I'm blogging my thoughts at the moment. :) I left you guys a particuarly garbled voicemail on Skype yesterday.
I concur! However, I put it mostly down to the lack of food today. Blitzed my flat as it *really* needed it!
Hehehe I could be talking about someone else you know.....?
You and Nick are quite easy to read ;)
Nooooooooooo! That's not true!!!
Well we saw you two coming a miiiiiiiiile off ;)
even if you didnt!
Aaaaaargh! Nooooooooooo!!
ehehe. bless ya.
#Random
I wish F1 had more open engine regs like it used to. I want to see Mazda come into Formula One with an updated Wankle engine.
Hmmmm
Tbh I don't want him to wake up. He'd be pretty grumpy.
Depends if there was a real reason for it!
Errr no? I found a cheesestring! Everyone wants to watch me eat a cheesestring!
Not a fan of cheesestrings. Their stringyness gets to me!
I found one before which apparently I ate "wrong" I want to prove I can do it properly!!
It is. If you were talking about anyone else you would have named them. At least that's what my file on you says.
...erm...Just ignore that last sentence
Did you not pull it string-i-ly down?
Who else do you have a file on?
Apparently the pieces weren't small enough.... Nothing can compare to capri sun crimes though so I think I'll get away with it.
Good evening all.
I'm special :)
Everyone except anyone related to Brawn. I sub-contract to a helper who must remain anonymous
:)
Although I've narrowed it down to one of two people :)
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy starting now
What's this I'm reading about Jaques Villeneuve making another comeback with Renault? They seem to be obsessed with him on the comments on the Renault F1 Facebook page.
if rg's around, how'd you find out the sauber launch time? and do you have any idea what renault are planning?
I'm not RG...but I have no idea what Sauber are up to. Renault are launching in Valencia IIRC...
yup. we got that much. any idea what time?
i'd rather not get up at 9am on a sunday if we don't need to.
And also in Paris in their Showroom on the Champs De Elyses at the same time with an old show car I think.
Helllo. I believe it was on the Media page of the Sauber website. Which appears to be down at the moment.
Renault, not a clue.
I love Boris Said.
He is in the pitlane, cutting up styrofoam lunch container to insert into his shoes. The commentator asked him what he was doing. Boris said that the firewall of the car is a little loose and burning up the current drivers foot. He is just insulating his shoes.
it's moved hasn't it?
http://press.bmw-sauber-f1-team.ch/index.php/
i see no time though.
Actually, here it is in PDF
http://www.bmw-sauber-f1-team.ch/press/pdf/AF179_EN.pdf
i heart
legend!
I love that he said "well it works for a coffee cup"
he knows that the harder he presses the pedal the more crushed and the less effective its going to be? right?
I like the logic but it is not going to do a lot for his feel having a compressible material on the soles of his feet
But he will get to the end of his stint faster, so it all equals out....
He is just buying a little more time before he starts to burn.
i've just come back from a friend's quiz evening. my team lost but the answer to one of the questions was Rockall... i was the only person in the room to get it right... everyone demanded that i give the full reason for why i knew.. i got alot of funny looks. :D
how is everyone?
Hah! Sidepodlearning ;)
You mean everyone doesn't know about the residents of Rockall?
I was just wondering, is it worth getting Media accreditation with F1 teams, where possible, for my blog? I'm thinking of possibly trying to build it up a bit.
no surprisingly they didn't :D hehe
worst they can say is no.
True. I wonder what Renault would think of the title... :D
:D
Might be worthwhile for me to get something at Virgin.
absolutely.
Yeah, absolutely.
It's great for access to press releases and photos for your blog - with the appropriate credits back to the teams.
If it helps, Bridgestone are a good shout as they have pictures for all of the teams from the race weekend.
McLaren, Mercedes, Williams and Red Bull have all accredited me. Ferrari just deadpanned me and basically blocked my email address from registering again. Any emails to the team to clear accreditation are just stonewalled but it's Ferrari and I'm not surprised.
Give it a go, the worst they can say is no.
And the new teams are a good bet too. Lotus have said yes, Virgin are approving.
have you tried again? they updated accreditation form recently.
the only team to ever shun us were super aguri. they said, and i quote, "we only deal with print media".
oooh. i bet they made the list
shoulda know they were dead right there and then.
the list?
everyone has a list, list of people/companies you really dont like
I've not, I get nothing back from them when I mail the press office. May be worth another go seeing as McLaren are my new BFF's. Let's try to shoehorn that in there and play them off against each other :)
The "You're not getting a Christmas card this year" list, if you like :P
oooh. well, they went bust four months later.
Just applied for McLaren. Apparently I need media credentials before they will activate my account. Where? How?
Oh, and what?
renault launch post is scheduled for early morning, in case we oversleep. it looks 80% likely to be in the afternoon though.
catch you cats tomorrow.
Did you use The web media form?
Good night
