It’s the 2nd of December!! Lukeh here wishing a very Merry Chris-mas to all! Yes, OK, it is not Christmas Day but it is in fact the birthday of worldwide legend and much loved shy Muse bassist Chris Wolstenholme!! Woohoooo!!! Chris is my favourite Muse member and there is absolutely no way I could go through this daily and not wish this absolute beast of a man a happy birthday and spread the good word of Chris-mas! But of course, we must consider other things in life. There are lots of other things happening out and about today though...
- Everyone should definitely take a gander at Christine’s Formula 1 Advent Calendar series – it is December now of course and the season to be jolly!! Whilst continuing the theme of Advent Calendars, the legend that is Alex Andronov had created the Giggles Advent Calendar after a comment I made yesterday saying how awesome the idea would be with a pun a day from Giggles. Luckily for me, Alex proved me right and his calendar defines the term ‘mindblowingly awesomely brilliant’. I love it!! What chocolate did you guys get in your advent calendar today?
- Recently I’ve been playing the Formula 1 game as ever on the Wii. It’s very, very good you know, and if you haven’t checked it out yet, you should read my review I wrote last week. If I’m going to be self indulgent for a moment, then please do check out my personal blog – Thoughts of a Trying Atheist – and my Formula 1 blog – Gridwalk Talk – if you have a spare 5 minutes. Go onnnnnn. You won’t regret it. Or you will. I hope you don’t though or I’ll just feel guilty.
- Sadly, there seems to be little Rubens news to report. Bah! Although in actual Formula 1 news, god forbid such a mention on a Formula 1 website, there was plenty of testing with all the young drivers yesterday at Jerez and even more today with various teams. Drivers such as Bianchi and Baguette turned up yesterday, but sadly, no sign of Sausage Roll. Dang. It also seems that Jenson Button is in the top 10 for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year. I’m expecting him to get it but it should be tough with competition from Andrew Strauss, David Haye and Ryan Giggs who have all had an excellent year. Finally, congratulations to Felipe Massa who gave birth to Felipe Massa! Well, obviously he didn’t give birth but he now has a baby son called Felipe Jr. Aww, a Felipe Baby!
So that’s everything I can think of! Today I think I’m just going to listen to Muse all day to celebrate the birthday of the legend that is Chris Wolstenholme. You should definitely check out some of his awesomeness to celebrate this awesome day and learn some new facts about him. It would have been the best day every if Rubens had said he was gonna join Muse and then they were all going to star in Doctor Who together . Oooh, that sounds too good. Nevertheless, have an excellent Wednesday everybody!!

As long as they allow spectators in you can take pics. Some professional photographers started off selling pictures to the drivers. If you get something good it's worth offering it to the driver. Even if you do some for free and get a reputation as being good someone will probably approach you at a later event and ask if you will do some for him for a few quid. Anyone who takes their car on a track is not shy about having photos taken.

We are looking for an excuse to go an play in the Williams simulator and look through their museum. There are two options. Either we all pay to go on a race day or Lou's dad pays for a wedding and we get invited. The wedding is the more popular option with a couple of exceptions
would almost put money on you being woken up by a large bucket of water. it started off badly with the divorce-remarriage thing, and got worse from there!

I do know. dont need the review thanks, its a pearla. Currently in career mode just finished the chinese GP. Actually a bit easy early on, but i hop it gets harder into the season(s) maybe i should just update the profile from beginner tho, coz clearly i'm not, if im 9 seconds a lap faster. But if you dont have a Wii and love F1. Its worth the cash just for tha game. and a 50inch plasma dont hurt neither, unless you count the burning eyes.
You know, being in a GMT+10 zone doesnt help the chat situation. maybe i could switch to a night time slot singapore style.

Just gave Classic Team Lotus a call. Had a chat with Sapphire, the girl who e-mailed me originally yesterday. There's a chance I could be working with them at the Autosport show this year! She's gone to speak to Clive Chapman and they've said they'll get back to me by the end of this week and will organise an interview if that's the case. How awesome would that be? :D

The theory is that to get a good place on google you need lots of pages that really are a massive web of pages that link back to your site. The problem is that you can't just copy the same page again and again because google is on to that so first they started just stealing peoples blog pages and using those. But then google became wise to that... So now this is the next step.

I don't see it significantly changing Nurburgring's fate. if anything, having a private group operate the circuit may enhance the chances of the GP if they can find the capital, from the owners or otherwise.

The new manager are mediinvest (who own or manage the "Grüne Hölle" a bar/restaurant/disco complex at the track) and the Lindner group which have hotels (if they are the same group as the group that owns the Lindner hotels :)). Both together already had plans for a big hotel at the circuit picture so I guess they have a big interest that the GP stays.

Many years ago they re-released the texas chainsaw massacre (not my usual cup of char you understand but there you go). It wasn't available on DVD or in most cinemas at the time, but it turned out that Camden had never banned it. So I wanted to see it in case it was the only chance. Nobody wanted to go with me. So I went alone.
I went to the cinema sat down and there was nobody in the entire place.
Just before the film started one other person showed up. Whole cinema to sit in... He sat right behind me. And I could hear him breathing.

I have to say it's a social convention thing. I like the cinema because it makes it an EVENT. I don't know why people go to the cinema to talk though.
It increases the focus on the movie and so on. You can't just pause and check on the comments. I want to immerse myself... or rather... I want to immerse the person I watch the film with :)
I watch films at home by turning the lights off and having no-pausing and no talking... but... some other people don't see it the same way.

I swear the thing that theatres do better than cinemas is that you get a program (wish I didn't have to pay for them - often they are online though) and they say in them, "Steve (played by So and So, Recent credits for So and so include blah, blee and bloo)". You read that first and then you have no problems,

Absolutely. Some films just aren't the same on a smaller screen, yet others probably don't work on a big screen. I mean I saw Star Wars when it was re-issued in the late 90s and it felt like a completely different film to what's on TV. The panning shot at the beginning after the scrolling text, the entire room moved, or at least it felt like it.
At home I try to do that, it depends what mood I'm in. I'm perfectly happy to have an old film on in the background on a Sunday afternoon. I was going to watching something tonight but not sure what.
I could defend myself but errrm I might just leave this here :P

I have just been reading up on today;s test and I am really impressed with di Resta's time. As ever it is hard to read much into times but he was way faster than Hildebrand in the same car despite Hidebrand being in the car when the track was faster. di Resta should not have been on the top half of that list when he did not run in the afternoon. He is making himself look very good.
If you look at your original post and what she puts up it has grown about 20 tags so she must wade through it first. However it seems once you get on her favourites list then she takes every feed .. usually its about a day later though

In reality a lot of it depends on the event. If it is something like boxing then music to bring out your aggressive side helps but if you are rock climbing that is probably a bad (read fatal) idea. A lot of drivers and other sportsmen use visualisation before the event. Top drivers can drive a lap in their head within a few tenths of the actual lap time when they are zoned in.
Plenty sleep, enough food to make you comfortable, enough hydration to last the even if you can't drink during it and if you are Kimi bing interviewed by Brundle in Brazil having a **** just before the start helps too
