Hello.
The big news on the site at the moment is the ongoing discussion about the future of these here Daily posts. Head over to the thread and let us know what you think. As you might expect there are well-reasoned arguments from each perspective.
I assume you've listened to the latest Debrief by now? You haven't? It has been out since Tuesday, what's wrong with you?
I loved the insight into the FIA stewards room from this weekend's guest steward Allan McNish, following his experiences in Monaco. It is an Autosport.com paywall article though, so sorry if you don't have a subscription. Worth getting a sub to the .com site even if the mag isn't your thing, the features section has had some really solid articles lately. I've just noticed Dieter Rencken has a new post arguing in favour of in-season testing, I'll note that here for some lunchtime reading at work!
Joe Saward has in the last couple of days posted three interesting articles on his blog. I liked the one debunking all the 'fluff' on most of the F1 news sites at the moment (and you have to assume he - rightly - includes the aforementioned Autosport in there). There are also stories on the future of Spa and some talk on movements within the teams. I'm sure you know by now to check Joe's site daily.
Racing Options
If the Hungaroring as a circuit isn't to your tastes there's a lot of other things going on this weekend. Rally Finland is a bit of a mad one, very fast and very narrow lanes. Leigh is at Spa this weekend so keep an eye on his tweets and blog.
- F1 - Hungaroring (get your Race Info!)
- GP2+GP3 - Hungaroring
- WRC - Rally Finland
- NASCAR Cup - Indianapolis
- 24 Hours of Spa (for GT2, GT3, GT4) - Spa-Franchorchamps
- F3 International Trophy - Spa-Franchorchamps
- World Superbike - Silverstone
- WTCC - Oschersleben
- AutoGP - Oschersleben
However, I won't be doing many of those because it is my Dad's birthday on Saturday and we're going to the Thai restaurant, where hopefully we won't drink too much... ah who am I kidding?
Also my sister is on a brief visit from Spain and I've not seen her since New Year, so it would be silly to waste that watching racing although I do plan to watch the F1. On Monday we're taking our younger sister to Thorpe Park where I'll try and avoid going on the rides which have a big drop because I hate heights..
Boom, sorry 'tis late, I wrote more than I thought I would and was distracted reading stuff
busy weekend of racing! what's autogp?
cheers for the daily sir.
that is a great post from joe. i particularly love some of the comments. someone stumbled across grandprixdiary.com and left quite confused (always a danger with satire):
http://joesaward.wordpress.com/2011/07/27/some-thoughts-on-the-news-in-f1/#comment-60430
Oh my goodness look at all that racing! it's a good thing i've got nothing to do this weekend, i sense a motorsport weekend! wohoo! Thanks for the daily Pat :) Best of luck at Thorpe Park, i've so far managed to avoid that place :)
They use the original A1GP car (not the Ferrari one), took all the cool-looking aero stylng off it so it acts like a normal single seater, and added more power.
But it could be called Yet Another Junior Single Seater Series Somewhere Between GP2 and GP3/F3. It has Eurosport coverage though so it could become bigger, I think people have high hopes for it.
I loved the insight into the FIA stewards room from this weekend's guest steward Allan McNish, following his experiences in Monaco.
I'm very interested to read this. Is it worth subscribing for?
had completely escaped me.
Hello Sidepodpeople.... :)
Depends how much the subs are, I'm not sure I'd pay a full sub just for one article, but I have a feeling from some tweets that they've been playing with micropayments? Dunno how you'd do that.
Also my sister is on a brief visit from Spain
Please thank her again for her help with international teaching. :)
89p per article. no subs necessary.
I'll check it. Thanks.
ohhhh!!! do you possibly have a link for timings etc? would be really interested to give that a go.
if you're not logged in, you pay by the article via paypal.
$1 for me. ;)
I may just go ahead and do that.
Easily done
Hi Guille how's the volcano? :)
will do
Hi Guille
Hey Guille! how's things with you?
Not bad, just dying away. A bit of dust in the air and several millon tonnes of sand in the ground, but not much more than that right now
Hi Lou! I've just handed my PhD thesis to the jury yesterday, so you can say I'm a free man again :D
Sorry not to be here for the last 6 months, I had a self-imposed censorship on anything not related to the thesis :(
This is the website. http://www.autogp.org/en/
The only problem with it is the drivers who are mostly nobodies whereas other things at that level have some known quantities. Luca Fillipi (ex-GP2) and Jon Lancaster (ex-WSR) are the names I spotted in the entry list. And Patrick Tambay's son but I've no idea if he's any good or not.
And Oschersleben is not a good circuit.
But otherwise I'm sure it's fine. :) I've not actually watched any of it yet.
That's good..
Timetable is on the WTCC website - PDF
lets wait 'till summer. I sense big dust storms in a few months... ;-)
i'll pick a random favourite and hope for the best :D
:)
Remember to subtract an hour from the timetable, and you're at the whim of Eurosport's arbitrary scheduling where the EPG is merely a suggestion...
ohhh best of luck with the results!! :) hope you've got lots of lovely things planned as a treat!
i'm sure it will all be worth it in the end :)
right, done and done. no doubt i'll forget on saturday but i'll set a reminder on my mac and hope for the best :)
right, i must bid you all goodnight. *hugs* x
Good luck
thanks!
That kind of thoughts were essential to keep me sane :P
I'm seriously thinking in buying some new glass, just because... :)
night lou
do it!! .. because i can't ;)
thanks!
oral defence is at the beginning of september, that's the last step
OK :)
PhD. Goshdarn. Doctor of Motorsport? :D
Physics. And not in any way related now or in the future to the physics of racecars, sadly. Although I'm still young, I can switch subjects...
I went right off GPD after Silverstone where he tweeted the username of every single F1 person he'd hung out with to the point where it took up 2-3 tweets. I'm all for going into the paddock and having fun but do you have to namedrop so massively?
That's the part about him I don't like.
we were talking about it last night about his twitter used to be really funny but now its 99% back and forth with Tom Webb etc. I see he tweeted the other day something about seriously thinking Heikki is one of the best drivers. Even I don't think that :D
on the one hand i agree, but on the other his twitter profile reads: F1 blogger and blagger....
so i admire the honestly.
thats true.
I think I'll come back from Korea and say I had a great time with Lotus, not I had a great time with Lotus, Heikki, Catherine, Mike, Silvi, Tony, Anna, any other lotus twitter user who I can't currently think of etc etc.
and that's why i follow your tweets ;)
hopefully I won't be tweeting about rain. It's raining so much in South Korea at the moment people have died.
you might be tweeting about Rain if you see him there.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rain_(entertainer)
:)
hehe
He looks much, much younger than 29.
mmmm.... I seriously doubt you'll not mention the great time you've spent with heikki and catherine. ;-)
he was in Malaysia. I did not care. :D
I got the prints that I ordered of my trip today. I love them! I'm sooo happy with the quality of the pics from my new camera. Did you order prints of any of your trips, Amy, or do you keep them in digital form?
At the moment just digital but one day I'd like to get some prints and make some nice albums.

England's away kit is black at the Rugby World Cup.. which is in NZ. This is surely a heinous crime, only one team should be allowed that.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_union/14319606.stm
Hooray - early forecast of decent weather at Spa this weekend
Yet the article doesn't included a single picture, not helpful. Found one here: http://www.fanhouse.co.uk/2011/07/15/one-reason-why-england-adopting-an-all-black-kit-may-not-be-a-go/
Don't see the issue personally, it has bits of red and they won't wear it if they play New Zealand.
Complete head scratcher...
Why on Earth is yet another Joy Division / New Order comp being released? Surely anyone that would have ever bought it has bought this four times over.
NZ play in white, if they didnt, i think the complaints might have some validity
As it stands its just hypocritical whingeing
Oh that's not too bad. Just for me the All Blacks are iconic across all sports not just rugby, it seems a bit off to turn up in their back yard wearing their colours.
And it isn't the same as turning up in blue in France for example..
It also looks like a dark shade of grey, rather than black.
Give it a couple of years and the 'away' shirt will be different colour.
Lot of fuss over nothing.
Pretty good way to get the clothing supplier's name in the papers I suppose :)
Hehe. very true and also help shift the stockpiles of replica shirts that they've got ;)
File this under "No surprise there."
Sauber retains Kobayashi and Perez for 2012
What . A . Shock
Next year will be fun, though, I think - I reckon at least one top-level driver contract will be bought out/terminated early.
So......
Kobayashi for Massa
or
Perez for Massa
??
That one. And I'm guessing Kobayashi for... Button. Wild guess, but just throwing it out there.
Perez makes the most sense as he's part of their young driver program.
Kobyashi to McLaren, although Red Bull might be a better home
or Williams if they get their act together in the next couple of years.
Am feeling another short burst of random trivia questions in a while if anybody is interested

wow, I hope I will be able to avoid that one. I thought they can't do worse than Backstreet Boys but obviously they can :-)
Hahaaaa...
Rick Astley followed by Massive Attack (DJ Set) - how different can you get?
good thing is Singapore has more to offer outside the track
Do you have to sit through the first to watch the second? :)
Yes
;)
:-)
the good thing in Singapore is that these giggs are kind of walk in (those that are within the track). so you watch what you want, skip what you don't want to watch. problem are those that are between the track entrance and your grandstand. if you decide to enter the track in wrong time you find yourself at the backstreet boys concert. one of the worst experience ever, still ashamed :-)
this looks like a sensationalist post made of summer boredom ....
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/93423
7 years. in that time honda could rejoin and then quit f1 again.
what nonsense.
Auto Moto und Sport - very GMM-ish
Yes, because the world doesn't change at all in 7 years. What a waste of time.
If I am not mistaken during the British GP somebody (was it Whitmarsh ?) mentioned that whole V4 turbo plan was there because VW wanted in in case V4s are the way to go ...
how does that info match this latest news I have no idea. or do they know what we want, does this mean F1 will go V4 turbo from 2018 ? that seems to be the real news here if read between the lines :-)
T'was Newey
Straight 4s was the plan, v4s are a pretty unusual engine
yes, Newey, now I remember
clutching at straws much? 2018 is such a random number.

More proof f1 has gotten boring...
Its been getting to corporate these past 2 years.
2 years..??
yep, give me back the politics & fun of 2009
Never been able to separate politics and corporate interests in F1. They're one and the same surely?
Different beasts.
Corporatism seems to have forced most of F1s politics behind closed doors.
the weather in Hungary must be seriously bad when you see/hear all the British journalist complaining about that :-)
... when there are millions to billions involved you can't expect it to be "corporate" free ...
They only come out every 20 years or so, normally. Once in the 60s, once in the 80s, and once in the 2000s. ;)
Ironicly there was probably more money around in 09 :D
Actually I have a feeling that the difference may not be as big as we may be lead to believe ...
i think USP content picked the wrong pitlane reporter:
Not in Hungary this w/end as in Bonnie Scotland for a great mate's wedding...I'll try to listen to quali on my little radio in the church!
oh dear.
Good news, we get Jennie Gow... she should get lees job
Frankly I find this ridiculous. If I were the boss I would not approve the leave.
it's hungary, she got a terrible case of the "brundles".
maybe they should put her on indefinite leave without pay ;)
two races missed in a 19 race season. on the one hand - ideal season, on the other, not a great start to your debut year.
oh goodness not again!! she's got a wonderful new job and she's already missed the same number of races i remember Holly missing in the few years i listened to her.
Maybe for jobs like these there should be clauses in contracts making it clear that other health reasons or compassionate leaves there is no way to skip the race weekend ... Take it or leave it
she's missed more races in 6 months than joe in two decades.
that's what they said to brundle when he moved from itv.
I would ... without hesitation
wow, you people are harsh :)
The Brundles! :D
a friends wedding is a poor excuse. get better friends.
:)
This is not harsh, this is the reality of the job, people should not take jobs that require weekend work if they are not willing to work those weekends. Jobs like these come with price
Taking leave now suggests to me she might not be enjoying it that much, wouldnt be supprised if she isnt there next year
agreed. poor show.
Has it occurred to you that maybe it was discussed when she signed and they agreed because they wanted her so badly, that maybe it was 'okay in year one because this is new but after that, no'?
Anyway what other opportunities are there for 3rd Reporters without in season testing, it isn't like they get to run on Fridays.
not saying it wasn't pre-planned, just saying my friends are capable of getting married without me.
Do you think she was wanted that badly ?
she has a once in a lifetime job... :(
I've no idea and neither do you
Why on earth would they want her that badly?
And that "once" may not last too long
has or had?
You all said that about Brundle when he skipped races and he got promoted.
Given that Jennie Gow is hanging around waiting for her holidays, i dont think its likely.
She has more experience too, doing moto gp last year
well they would have had to have sorted other paddock passes right? so its possible.
...and stopped skipping races. but point taken.
But Brundle was amazing when he was around (and he only missed one race per year - tops). She's nowhere near as irreplaceable as Brundle.
Brundle was probably the top guy on itv at the time, she isnt.
Maybe its just a blip, but it seems like an odd thing to do twice in your first year
Right so if she got promoted she might stop too
It doesn't help that we dislike weddings. Some people like them.
also true.
A tad heavy handed, maybe?
Has anyone considered that her bosses knew this prior to hiring her? Bet on they did and made arrangements otherwise
Give her Jakes job and hope she doesnt go to anymore weddings? :P
It was just a week away from the F1 summer break. :D
Ehhh... Brundle may potentially not be in Canada next year...
Why not?
who did he offend?
Why would they employ someone part time?
Part of the job is about developing relationships in the paddock...
There are strong rumours linking him to a return to Le Mans in 2012
I'm guessing Le Mans, but I'm not sure?
at his age?
If BBC quit, so might he
I don't see that happening unless they are on different weekends
Why not? They nearly won Daytona this year outright.
That said, I don't think it'll happen.
Why not? Paul Newman raced his last enduro aged 80
A 19 race season is quite a lot, and remember they expected it to be 20
As lead commentator i cant see him being let off to do it unless they can get murray in to replace him.
The other thing is she is hardly the voice/face of the BBC F1 output, swapping the roles around doesn't really hurt anyone. Do we know why Gow stopped doing MotoGP? I've forgotten.
Yes, but if other members of the team can attend all of them (or miss one race at most), why can't she?
I think she may have just dropped.
They already have ant missing races, i dont think they would agree to anyone missing any more
Cost cutting i would guess, with such short pre shows & so few bikes in it they didnt really need 2 reporters
Why not? I'm bemused at the fuss, it really doesn't matter. None of us had heard of her before March anyway.
i'm just annoyed that it's a wedding.
Fair enough.
:D haha
I really dont care that much! Im just outraged that someone who has a paddock pass isnt using it this weekend *shakes fist*
Pat - a question if you have a moment
Having a little office debate
Is it really that bad not to turn your car off when filling up at the petrol station?
...F1 cars did it for years...
They still have two, maybe Azi Farni is cheaper because she's not as good / experienced :)
sure
Completly forgot she was there!
Do you know if Eau Rouge to Stavalot was a handy or difficult trek - did you do it at all last year?
It is a very long way if you walk the perimeter, there is a tunnel under Eau Rouge though and you can walk through the interior of the circuit to Pouhon which takes 10-15 minutes. Stavelot is hard to reach though, if at all.
Grand job - cheers
Actually there might be a route on the infield towards Stavelot but I never went that way
Ace - cheers
So there is :)

Was it a good visit?
I haven't missed much then?
Sounds like an illness. :)

Not at all
:D
Yeah. The UK bit was weird because it was me, my parents and my grandparents all together. But they spent 10 days here and they said that they really enjoyed it. We showed them as much as we could and even invited friends over for a BBQ.
Sounds like a permanent move to NASCAR?
I'd watch more NASCAR if that were true, for a while anyway.
I'd give if a brief run before the adverts kill my head
In F1 news, not really. Just a flurry of rubbish about exhausts. Watch Germany if you haven't already, was fun. In non-F1 news as a daily-writer you should see this http://sidepodcast.com/post/chopping-and-changing (LPG did a good job as stand-in btw).
Important reading for a Daily Comments posters too.
Absolutely.
and mentioned in the daily post ;)
Daily comments posters?
Daily commenters?
People who comment in the daily - maybe that's it :)
Rather making your point.
I was just about to say that in the other thread. It was at the top after a slight gap for a reason, to catch people's eye if they were about to skim through or scroll past..
Well, this could be interesting...
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/93432
Saw Germany. Was fun. Thanks for the heads up :)
Having an ex-Ferrari man who designed the regulations could be quite useful!
Absolutely. Very smart hiring (for once) by ol' Craig
That'll help even out the field for PURE. Now if only they could think of a better name...
This is just plain 'ol hilarious.

I get the feeling this isn't the last change we'll see
Glad Brazil is still the finale though
Evening all
You're probably right, we don't normally see the final final final FINAL one until October/November.
There must be a lot of money hanging on the Bahrain race for Bernie to keep bending over backwards. There seems to be enough new places knocking on the door to replace it and others teetering on the edge
Also this which just seems right to me:
The shifting of Bahrain means that the 2012 season is now likely to start with the Australian Grand Prix
canada loses out on cost savings of sharing with the USA.
As is right and proper. :)
That is good news, I agree
He does seem very insistent for some reason.
And it's usually just money that Bernie acts upon
@NobleF1 just pointed out that this is just Bernie's plan and the FIA has to agree it
I hope the FIA go ahead with this, I'm just happy to see Australia kick the season off and Brazil to end it :)
And evening all!
Yay for Rubens and Nico playing football with rubens' kids :)
Although how Nico can play with that jacket on...
Hi Lukeh
Maybe it's a grid-style climate control garment [I bet the teams have a better name for it]
Why would they not have Canada and the US back to back?? That seems ridiculous for the teams to have to schlep back and forth.
they did, but it was too hot in austin. i guess too cold in canada at the end of the year.
Because they went for Austin & Brazil which are kinda in separate continents but there you go.
Maybe Canada is more financially secure and yes, Oct/Nov would be impossible to hold a GP unless they raced with studded tyres :D
I'm going to post this here as I think it's interesting but without cross contaminating the threads, I'd point out that this probably would not be worthy of a Post of it's own. [I genuinely think it's a curious news piece]
Earth has it's first Trojan Asteroid confirmed this month.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010_TK7
Essentially, it shares the Earth's orbit of the sun but will not collide with it. The existence of such a phenomenon was predicted back in 1772
#SidepodSpace [in honour of Steven's non-internet connection]
I see. I guess the seasons are not cooperating with cost savings.
Anytime they're going to keep it out of the hottest time of the year in Texas, I'm for it. And I may even go, then.
and snow plows on the front.
Bad teacher, I didn't read the full article before I commented. :(
Does anyone have any sites they've used for creating your own logo? I didn't know there were these sites until yesterday so I wanted to play with them a bit.
They are going to Brazil and Austin is on the way.. of a sort
Not F1, but racing involved:
My brother in law does marketing and personnel management for a few NHRA teams and other related vendors. They were in Denver this weekend out at the drag strip, and he got me all setup. He got me a pass and hooked me up with a top fuel team he still works with (and used to be a mechanic for) and I got to drive their golf cart up to the start line, and actually stand at the start line for their cars race.
it was awesome! it feels like getting punched in the chest when these cars go off and you're standing that close. Here are some pics:
http://pancoast.smugmug.com/Cars/NHRA-Bandimere-2011/
Next year, if I want (and the team is there) I might get to work on the car!
Yes, I can see that. There's a lot to consider in what is best for the teams, drivers and fans.
yeah, if you're coming from California, Austin is on the way.
Awesome! My dad drag raced his whole life and took us to the SummerNationals in Englishtown, NJ every year if we wanted to go. Great memories. It was such an important part of his life.
'fraud not but there is something which is kind of relevant that I think you should listen to

Very cool, and really nice pics!
Yeah, to be so close to the top fuel cars, wow.
I love the bike pic. Thanks for sharing.
very cool!
The nitro cars don't run a quarter mile anymore, they run 1000ft because someone got killed last year when something went wrong and they couldn't stop in time.
But those nitro cars are just plain nuts (And it's hard to breathe around one of those things when it's really going)

Surely you're going to call it Michael ;)
ha!
He'll be so confused when mr c wheres his 'Michael Who?' shirt
how about 'Ant' after their ever so loyal test driver?
fluffy ant. that works.
or, Leo after Nico's strange likeness to Mr Dicaprio?
yay! and he's small! you've nearly got a 5live coms box right there :)
we need an oversized microphone.
:)
bit late on this :)
Cue another race in the US....
I love how on the homepage Pat just randomly includes 'I hate the log flume' :)
Log flumes is awesome . I loved the Blackpool one. It was very watery, which came as an odd surprise in retrospect.
photoshop to the rescue? :)
Hooray, it was noticed :)
Ties in with the bit at the end of the post. I was made to go on the one at Thorpe Park as a child, and it was then (still is?) the highest in Britain, didn't want to go on it and didn't like it at all. I'm sure I'm fine now but I'm scarred, scarred :)
The barry island one is the best, it crawls around a corner, goes up... and anti climatically comes down again with no real drop.
It;s almost as good as the mini golf.
mini golf is amazing!
Of course! Whilst the log flume is a sarcastic mess of a ride the mini golf at barry island is brilliant fun, it's pirate themed and everything. It has a fake Johnny Depp pirate with a ginger beard, I mean, if that's reason not to visit enough :)
Heheh :)
Norbert
or what's the name of that Merc guy with the big moustache
I was hoping you could see him on this photo but no luck :(

You should read this first, lest I spend my life on the naughty step. ;)
Best get a drink and get comfy though
Typical. I am here two minutes and in trouble already
I scanned it earlier and I will comment later
Good evening :)
My visit will be a short one, but hello everyone
Helga.
if in doubt blame Steven. Can't argue with tradition. Hey Steven :)
It's not only the truth, it's the law
I love the sound of this extension for Chrome or Safari
Banish multipage articles, in fact, you'll never know they were multipage
http://globalmoxie.com/blog/page-one-safari-chrome-extension.shtml
in safari: apple+shift+r
no extension needed. plus no ads.
I know Reader does something similar, but from a web owners point of view this is another alternative
Question: I used Google Notifier for email in Chrome, but it doesn't seem to be working in Safari. How do I get it to work in Safari, too?
:)
reader rocks my socks off. wipes out all flash ads in one tap.
So does ClickToFlash [not a Chrome user]
Is that the pop-up window? I'm not sure it does work in Safari
try explaining to my mum how to install that. reader is free and built in to every download.
yeah. I'll look at the site Notifier site again, maybe I missed something.
click to flash doesn't disable animated gifs either... does it?
Dunno, I have Glimmer Blocker installed too which gives other benefits in Safari, such as tuneable search window options and 'unclose tab'
An excellent point
apple+shift+d also another fav shortcut.
My Mum's eyes mist over at the concept of the Internet and it's not just her cataracts :)
Can tell you are an old skill Mac user cos you don't use the term CMD instead of Apple :)
oops.
I am reading through the chopping and changing thread. There are a lot of interesting comments in it but I won't say anything until I have read them all.
Ping: http://www.f1bigpicture.com/news/put-on-a-brave-face
Almost ready for Lewis to photograph
Huzzah, the daily is all done :)
Well done on finishing it so early
Bassano, thanks for the heads up on the cookie eliminating software. It's awesome.
what is it? I sorta half saw you guys talking about it.
No problem, I've had to bookmark it as it's not ready for Lion yet
Granular cookie control for Chrome or Safari [Mac only?] http://www.ghostery.com/

If you want it to it can show you what is being blocked every time you go to a page.
Spooky.
I had no idea that free themes on wordpress and others had this sort of stuff hidden away quite often
"No such thing as a free lunch" is often true :)
Ooooooh.
spooky.
I totally missed out the part where you said spooky too... bah. It's a been long day.
:) and it's name Ghostery. ;)
hehe. The clue is in the name ;)
I really wish I could stick in the comments for longer but I'm just knackered, today's just been one of them days. Thursdays are just rude being so tiring and annoying. Night night guys.
don't forget the lotus job thingy.
it's on my two do list first thing when i get home tomorrow, definitely. It's a real exciting prospect! Would of done it tonight but makes more sense to out together stuff actually awake than braindead and thursday'd up :)
A ping with many frowny faces: http://www.f1bigpicture.com/news/ask-me-another
oh my! Cheer up, guys, you drive F1 cars for a living. :)
I had a peek through the transcript. Not sure which question had them all frowning so much!
Maybe that is their concentrating face...or the person talking had on a peculiar shirt....was EJ there?
You would think being richer than they could ever have imagined and being paid to drive racing cars would be enough for one of them to break into a smile.
When I went to the drag races this past weekend I saw John Force quite a few times. 15 times NHRA funny car champion. I don't know how much money he has, but he had a huge grin on his face every time I saw him.
Did you see that 'reality' show about him and his family a few years back? He's a character.
Oddly enough, for many of the years that had both Canada and a US race on the calendar, they weren't back to back. In particular, I remember this being true for the last few races at Phoenix and the first few races at Indy.
Nope, I'll have to look it up.
I honestly didn't care about drag racing until this weekend. I don't know if I really "care" about it much more now, but I don't think I'll ever turn down an opportunity to do that again. Especially if my bro-in-law can get me in for free.
I mean, 8,000 HP. Standing 20' away when they stomp on that gas is just really fun :)
His daughter is quick too
2 of his daughters are quick: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Courtney_Force
STEVEN! I am watching pointless.
Alexander has just said "now then Steven, we're looking for ducks"
Correction, his daughter Brittany races as well.
I have only ever seen Ashley race
Very scarey
Great to see. I hope they continue to do well, and finish school. :)
Steven found a duck. Have you had similar luck?
Not many ducks round hear at this time of night.
Just to show what being unplugged from the collective does to you. I just realised there is FP tomorrow.
:D I'm constantly confused like that #toomuchwork
Has anyone used MSN as an alternative to skype? I have a call booked to China next week and they say skype is unstable and MSN is a better alternative
Translation: the gov't can eavesdrop on MSN, but not on Skype.
Of course, microsoft owns skype now...
You would think they wanted to roll it all into one thing
Steven, Chad Ochocinco is going to the Patriots this year. That outta be fun.
Oh, and the lockout is over as of yesterday, so there will be a US football season this year.
Interesting
Good. I tend to ignore the NFL outside the season so all these things pass me by.
It's best that way. I take a 'wake me when it's over' approach.
Wait, WHAT?!
Well, if anyone can tame a football player, it's Bill Belichick.
hello everybody!
as a long time SPC regular, you should know that you must (are expected to) be connected at all times ;-)
That's what I said. I can't see it. It will be interesting to see how that develops, and what about the guy who already has the 85 jersey?
It must motivate him to know that every time he goes on the field he has Eli chucking the ball at him
Hi Guille
My ISP did not seem to understand that.
Someone already has 85. Maybe he will change his name to 87 or something
that's very rude of them...
New daily ping: http://sidepodcast.com/post/daily-29th-july-2011
They are now very aware of my views on the subject
:)
