Good morning, how is your long weekend going? Looking forward to the Easter Bunny visiting tomorrow? Me too!

Lukeh linked to the latest Aside yesterday but just in case you have been living under a rock and have missed it, here is the latest aside. Geez I feel spoiled this week: a Debrief and an Aside! Big thanks to the C’s!

So no more Turkey after this year. They say they can’t afford the doubling of the price of the race. But will F1 miss the race? With such poor crowd numbers, apparently not.

Pat Symonds has been getting more involved with Virgin Racing. He is reviewing the teams operation’s to help improve on their poor performance in 2011. Speaking of Virgin, have you read the blog from the CSC trackside team on the CSC website? The latest China blog includes some interesting information on seamless shifting.

Mark Sutton wrote a blog including some cool photos. Funny to see Michael Schumacher driving the limousine service car himself! I particularly liked the Q2 queue photo. I thought Q3 last weekend was a bit of an anti-climax after all that queuing excitement in Q2. Talking about photographers, Darren Heath wrote about falling in love with F1 at the age of 16.

The Team Lotus buys Caterham story got out early: Autosport noted that next week Team Lotus is holding a press conference at Duxford Airfield to make this announcement. And Joe wrote about Team Lotus principals being appointed as directors over a week ago, and in the comments on this blog, Joe pointed out that he first wrote about Team Lotus’ plans in December.

The FIA may ban DRS at the Monaco GP due to safety concerns which might disappoint Nico Rosberg who thinks DRS might be the best idea yet!

Finally, if you want something to watch while unwrapping easter eggs, the Chinese GP race edit has been uploaded to F1.com. Hopefully the Malaysia race edits will be uploaded before the Turkish GP! Or else for those outside the UK, I’ve noticed that Ted’s pitlane reports have been uploaded on YouTube.

Happy Easter and happy long weekend!

    Hello new Daily :)

  • lou22/04/2011 at 23:25

I'd completely missed the darren heath blog!

I have a friend who has a theory.

He believes – and I'm inclined to believe him – that one's favourite Formula 1 drivers are those one falls in love with when somewhere around the age of 16.

hehe yep works for me too! I think Darren and his friend may be on to something.

    Lovely daily Pamela :)

But I wasn't watching when I was 16. No fair!

For Lukeh - the 30 day music thing but for films! http://www.avfcforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=12594

That can be next on your list.

    Also, that is fate.

I saw the film thing on Facebook but wanted a non-FB link so turned to Google, who pointed me to some Aston Villa forums.

    Small world.

    yay, pamela daily.

"But will F1 miss the race? With such poor crowd numbers, apparently not."

i like/d that it was an anti-clockwise circuit. variety is good. otherwise it's a hard place to love.

:( does it work for the first few years you were watching f1 though?

for me 2006 - 2009 were just amazing years for F1. I even don't mind so much that JB had a bad few years, I enjoyed it regardless :) I was thinking the other day how i wanted the racing to go back to how it was in 2006-7 and tbh i've no idea why, i just know they were great seasons and i loved every second. strange really!

  • Christine22/04/2011 at 23:39

:( does it work for the first few years you were watching f1 though?

Mmm, not really. My favourite driver is Petrov. I am too fickle for this to work :)

    Woo!

Now I just have to actually get the list out of the notebook and onto a blog somewhere... Foolishly 'inspire blog envy' is also on there, which means I'm probably going to have to drag 'graphic design' and 'how to code/write HTML' out of long term memory...

Going to F1 or similar is also on the list....

    What have I started?

Eurgh no it's not that bad. I literally kept my foot up all day today and it's gone right down but I might cry if I have to walk on it all day tomorrow.

  • Bassano23/04/2011 at 00:24

And that or get some shoes that don't rub

Is it just a flesh wound?

  • Alison23/04/2011 at 00:26

It's not that bad but you kept your foot up all day.

I mean it's flipping sore. I was limping yesterday but it's not going to benefit from pins.

It's just too much time spent running around on my feet in an overheated workplace, not my poor shoes.

    I disagree

It's just too much time spent running around on my feet in an overheated workplace, not my poor shoes.

    And again

  • Alison23/04/2011 at 00:28

    And again

How do your shoes rub on the sole of your foot?

  • Bassano23/04/2011 at 00:29

How do your shoes rub on the sole of your foot?

By slipping, causing friction and the blister is a reaction to it

    Next question

  • Steven Roy23/04/2011 at 00:29

How do your shoes rub on the sole of your foot?

Did you not study anatomy? Walk with no shoes on and watch how your foot flexes

  • Alison23/04/2011 at 00:31

Did you not study anatomy? Walk with no shoes on and watch how your foot flexes

Of course but about a blister? Might give my area manager something to smile about. Last time I met our H&S man, he said I wrote cute messages in the accident book. I'm not writing about my blister and sending it off to senior personnel. It's embarrassing enough owning up to actual accidents I've had.... :D

    Okay here's the plan:

Stick on a bit of recorded racing.

Do lots of filing and shredding and put the washing on.

When racing finishes go wandering around town to find a bit of lunch.

    Return and do more stuff.

Go to Dad's to 'babysit' sister.

If you happen to pass by Harrods in Knightsbridge at the moment you will see the building adorned with Swiss flags and many of the window displays with a Swiss theme.

There's a Swiss chalet in the pedestrian area to the side of the world famous department store and a host of other initiatives to promote the country.

    So, what is going on?

Switzerland is trying to re-shape its image and sell its summer product.

Afternoon peeps. Lazy Saturdays are great

Good afternoon. I'm treating myself to a "new" PDA after my previous one got stolen this morning. Surprised at how cheap it looks like being to replace (the model was only 4 years old and HP sold it until the end of last year!)

    * - In case you're wondering, I'm replacing like-for-like because nothing I've seen come out since does what I want it to do anything like as cheaply.

  • Bassano23/04/2011 at 12:12

I hope he tells them that CFD only is a bad idea

He's probably been telling them that since he turned up, considering he'd just come from a team that switched to a more CAD-dependent arrangement for staffing reasons and suffered for it...

I wonder if they can chop Valencia for the Indian GP? [Bahrain or Abu Dhabi would be also acceptable ;)]

  • Alianora La Canta23/04/2011 at 12:18

It's all gone into the smart phone Market now

Which is fine except the smartphones that are capable of everything I use a PDA for cost a fortune. Getting what I had before doesn't.

What makes it worse is that I've been told that some of the items I went into the shop where the theft happened were not the ones that were wanted in the first place. I hate shopping for other people :(

ooh yes the crowds wouldn't be fun. Why don't these people watch on TV, they'll see more. And they'll have Jake! Amongst others, I get the feeling every person employed by the BBC in the whole world is on the coverage.

The person having the party I have to go to that night says on the Facebook event page " I don't mind if you only come for one drink" so I might take her up on that. Even going for one drink I'll miss some of the buildup, oh no!

I've absolutely beat up the surround on my phone but the actual screen is still 100% perfect. Nokia must use good glass or something :D

Touch or large screen phones are just a pain when scratched, it irritates me. Never bothered before

  • lou23/04/2011 at 14:49

erm.. in my head i'm planning on going on the underground after the wedding has started.. can't be heaps more people than usual on the underground once the wedding has started?

    End of.

Great, that means I can send out Version 6 and 7/8ths ! (Errr, nothing to do with Leiws Carroll, here, really :P )

I was trying to find it. There is anuncle Vanya but I am pretty sure Chekov didn't write Womble stories. They are much more Sulu's style.

    Most refreshing

Looks good. Are the balloons for you?

  • Bassano23/04/2011 at 20:38

Swapped my yellow tinged phone, tried 2 in store that were the same [the demo models were 'normal']

Accepted the advice that the yellow may fade in 1 - 2 weeks [it won't]

Swallowed a fly on the way back to the car, which had a parking ticket that'll cost me £65 :(

I'm definitely not letting this yellow screen thing go now!

There's some Magners in the fridge and I'm tempted to join you with the cider.

    Hmm, Magners

Sadly the pubs in London seem to sell Bulmers instead now which saddens me cos it's awful

  • Steven Roy23/04/2011 at 20:41

Sadly the pubs in London seem to sell Bulmers instead now which saddens me cos it's awful

I don't mind Bulmers, but that's probably because I used to drink Strongbow and moving onto anything from that is like drinking the best thing ever :D silly stomach acid.

But Magners is definitely cider of choice, yummy.

Sadly I have a Strongbow as that's what Dad had in his fridge.

A good one is Thatchers Gold which you may find at Tesco

The whole Magners/Bulmers thing is even more confusing because 'M' is called Bulmers in Ireland and Magners is the cheap end of the market stuff from the same company

Like, I always thought when someone wants a muffin you get a chocolate muffin but it turns out there are bread ones too for bacon and stuff which kind of blew my mind when someone in work explained it to me, and kind of explains me confusion as to why people ask for muffins in mcdonalds sometimes.

  • Kai23/04/2011 at 22:49

There are way more than two

And none left at your house, 'specially not the chocolate ones.

  • Lukeh23/04/2011 at 22:49
