Hey there folks! It’s the Wednesday before Easter! Did you enjoy the Grand Prix? I hope you did, I thought it was fantastic! If you haven’t had a chance to yet, check out the latest debrief…
In fact, there have been plenty of posts lately on Sidepodcast … for example the Tweets of the Week and Christine’s Rankings – but also Amy has written a great two part special on the Fanvision (formerly KangarooTV) device – well worth checking out!
You MUST also check out Jalopnik’s F1 review in Crayola – love the pics! Perhaps they miss PicApp too? One of the pics pokes a little bit of fun at Jenson Button’s pitlane mishap – so Andy Blackmore (the Spotter’s Guides guy) has made a helpful reminder for him :D
I must admit I thought Webber was the best driver of the Chinese GP, but BadgerGP disagrees and thinks it was Hamilton. Close call I suppose. If you have a subscription to Autosport, Adam Cooper has a great analysis of how Hamilton won the race – and also revealed that McLaren planned to do a two-stopper and switched during the race. Mmm, strategy so good it’s gonna have to be blogged about ;)
At least with Vettel not winning we didn’t have to see the finger – although Anthony Davidson found a great mimic!
Couple of funny stories from WTF1 for you – the top 10 motorsport fails and F1’s got Talent.
Road & Track have a great article on Google Earth mapping racetracks from around the world. If I remember rightly, Ollie did that too. Shame he’s not blogging much these days…
Some non-F1 stuff for you now:
- How about a hand drawn map of Super Mario World?
- Here’s a list of all the Time Magazine covers. Ever.
- Here’s a great re-working of the original Tron movie with a new score. It’s kinda like an hour long music video, but it’s so cool!
- Annoyed at the new restrictions placed on Spotify? Well here’s 6 alternatives you should check out…
- Here’s a video about that really fast rollercoaster at the Ferrari World Theme Park. Looks fast!
- Sidepodspace time: Fun facts about the Space Shuttle Orbiter
- Is Twitter going to buy Tweetdeck?
- Here’s some fun Math Demotivational Posters for you. I never thought Math could be expressed through dance!
- A Fiat 500 Looped the Loop. Bonus Simpsons reference in the article too :)
- Finally, what would happen if you removed Garfield from the comic or the last panel from Peanuts? Scary thought…
So that’s all from me. I will be around in the comments today but I am going away to Berlin for Easter after that. So if I don’t see you in the comments, have a great Easter and I will see you next week!
hellooo new daily! hello comments :)
Hi Lou. I see you are keeping student hours now. Turning up at midnight
:) i'm always up at midnight :) just got back from a rather fabulous day in london :)
Maths! It's maths!
Nice post Gavin :)
Details
met up with some of my friends and spent most of the day in the sunshine queueing for the recording of thursday night's Russell Howard's Good News tv show :) I may have a tiny tiny crush on Russell.. :)
Hi Lou
what would happen if you removed Garfield from the comic
woah!
Sounds like a fun day

ah-ha, from the killing bono trailer.
Why are we killing Bono?
for being too successful i think.
I love the daily, Gavin. I can't get enough of Jalopnik's crayola.
Ringo is already dead
:)
mm. Okay.
So, I really am going into business for myself, I'm not kidding. I've made a decision about my next step. I'm going to become a life coach specializing in stress management for teachers, and I'll work with kids to teach them life skills, too. I get trained next month, and I can start as soon as I can get my stuff together.
you'll need a domain name.
exactly! And a website....and a logo....and....the list goes on. But it's fun stuff to have to do.
I thought of Christine right away. :)
SeltzerWithLemon.com
Guinness may work better with the stress? ;)
hehe
Or for clients who have 'afternoon social issues'
Stop tittering at the back!
Sounds great though
I really must sleep, night all
:)
I'm so happy and excited. It feels right, and nothing has felt right for 3 years. I'll help people meet their goals and overcome any obstacles they have, and put them in touch with the right resources. It fits me. yay.
Good night! Meet you at the feather in the morning.
Have you seen these recent posts on sidepodcast.com?
- Daily: 20th April 2011
- The end of qualifying?
- A bumper week of Team Rankings with Lotus retaining their lead
- It's a tie at the top of Christine's Rankings this week
- China 2011 - Rate the Race
Ok, for those who were not in Boston, there was a feather on the floor in the hall where we met each morning for our SPC exploring.
You move fast once you make a decision. What happened to English for furriners?
Logos by Lukeh
Night Bassano
hehe
I do move fast. I drive a little too fast sometimes, too.
English as a Second Language went down the tubes for me when I really pictured myself teaching grammar. Yuck. Who knows what the future will bring, but that's not what grabs me right now.
But 3 years is not fast, overall, when I've been so antsy to get out for so long.
I'll stay there until this takes off. And if it doesn't, then I haven't lost anything.
As long as you have found something that will make you happy
So far, so good.
We are getting the royal wedding stuff non stop. You must be inundated.
I just ignore it
ooh the easter bunny is in my office
oh, is he starting there this year?
looks like it. also looks like he sources his chocolate from aldi
ooh theres two of them. a grey one and a brown one.
Where's his brother Lindt?
Rabbit for dinner
they're hugging people so i'm hiding.
I took a picture to prove I'm not losing my mind :D
http://amyfulton.posterous.com/hiding-from-the-easter-bunny
Why are easter bunnies going to your office? That sounds fun to me. We aren't allowed to have any fun, and we are a school! What's wrong with this picture (literally)?
our company is big into culture so we get visited by easter bunnies and santa at christmas and cupid on valentines day
Lurking after BSG and pre-bed but Kai I didn't realise you were setting up a business, sounds fun and stressful and exciting all at once, better than the old routine surely.
Amy I don't trust anyone in an animal suit but if they have free chocolate..
Cool. ( minus the hugging if you're not into that)
thankfully the chocolate came from the bunnies helper. who was not in an animal suit :)
Yeah, it's all those things, and I'm game for that ride. :)
hehe. Good policy, Pat.
Pat, are you going to the Festival of Speed? I know I have notes on this somewhere when I asked this, I'll have to look those up.
Potentially yes. I was thinking about my options and I think this year is a budget year, so I might do 3 days at the Festival instead of 1 day plus a GP.
The other option was none at the FoS and do a GP :)
But I'd like to go if I can.
Nice to have the choice, because you have F1 there. :)
Yes.. sadly I also have to pay a credit card, and I think I'd like to change my car rather than put this one through another winter. So a chunk of F1 money has to go to that instead as it always seems to.
That seems like good priority-setting, though, and your different car will get you to many more GP's.
Heh, only that this car has cost me quite a bit in repairs and running costs and has high mileage. It is costing me the chance to go places. Although it has been fine for nearly a year I mentally picture it as a costly car and you wonder what'll happen next. I've only ever been to two GPs, can't stretch to £400 a year on them.
Are you looking for people to meet there? There's usually a SPC contingent.
I've had several cars like that, and it gets to a point where you need to make a change so it's cheaper in the long run.
Absolutely. This cost me a lot last year. Unlike my last two cars it seems to be fine at the moment (the others cost and cost and cost). Cars are a pain in the backside!
I need to sit down and go over the cost of everything, so I'd like to get an idea of how many days people were going to go for. But I asked this a while ago and I feel bad asking again. I know I saved some notes about it.
Different people are doing different things, best thing is to work out how long you want to be there for and then we'll all work something out. It is a great event to explore alone too.
Sounds good. That's what I'll do. Thanks. :)
I've only ever done a single day though so I'm not sure if a weekend alone would work, kind of think I'd get a bit bored for 3 days. Perhaps the secret is not to rush around like a headless chicken trying to see everything in one day but that's all I know :)
Any info is helpful info for me, not having been at all.
But yeah I think a few are doing 3 days, no doubt we'll have later-committers who might only do one.
If a small group decided to do 3 days with a local hotel I'd be more tempted to do 3 days and join at the hotel even though I'm only 2 hours away by car.
With all the things I want to do I may choose 1 or 2 days, but I'll have to check the schedule of events.
The trouble with going for one day is you are guaranteed to miss things.. last year was my 4th and with some pretty good planning I saw a lot of what I wanted, bumped into famous people, and still missed things I wanted to see. If you do Sat/Sun you can spread it out a bit and not feel rushed or that you have to move on to not miss the next thing.
Excellent advice. I'd hate to go and then feel like I missed a lot.
Yes you should definitely see what else is going on, if something clashes. Even one day at FoS is great and you don't have to rush about, it is what you make it.
It also took a lot of luck :) But in some respects you make your own luck, like putting yourself in the paddock before the cars come back down the hill so you can see the drivers get out.. but in doing that you miss the next lot of cars, which could be interesting or could be something totally obscure.. and decipering the obscure program to see what's on when..
I think if you spent a week there you would still find that you missed stuff
When more people are around I might raise this, see what costs might be. If you join us you do, if you don't you don't. The group doesn't have to stick together like limpets all weekend anyway, the place is so huge and we've got different interests.
I see what mean.
Ok. I'd just be happy to be there at all.
*you
I did that a little bit, Lou was doing it a lot to get shots of drivers :) You don't have to do it at all if cars/driver (delete as appropriate) aren't your thing. Easy to just sit trackside all day, or stay in the paddock all day and not see a car on track. Or go the classic car / modern supercar area with the jazz garden party...
Anyway its all good fun, you can rush about or amble along. If you go for one day or two or three we'll surely make a point to meet up somewhen*. If it is an afternoon or a whole weekend, something will be worked out. People will come and go.
(*local Dorset word I think)
i would like to go to the FoS one day but in the choice between that or a GP the race weekend would win every time
Sounds good.
I like it. Handy.
For me the cost of a GP is more paletteable if there's a long trip somewhere exciting along with it.. I happily paid it for Belgium but find it hard at home. Odd really. Also no accomodation around Silverstone, bit of a problem.
And the mix of modern and historic F1 (and non-F1) drivers and cars is a huge draw for me.
I have to get to bed, feel free to ask more any time. Ask Lukeh and Lou too, they stayed the weekend last year.
Goodnight!
Thanks a lot, Pat. I really appreciate it.
Good night.
I'm watching "The Space Age: NASA's Story", among other things. They're talking about Apollo 8 now, and the first time they circled around the moon and say the earth rise. Amazing.
long trips are exciting but i much prefer the cheapness of a local race. I Guess silverstone is a bit different since it's not in a city. Melbourne and Singapores lack of travel make me find other tracks quite a mission but I'm still willing to try. This may be why i have mostly depleted my savings account :D
Night Pat
Those guys were incredible. Imagine going off to go round the moon and having no idea if the technology would work there.
Earthrise is one of the most famous photos ever
Incredible. Really incredible, the whole team, mostly the guys in floating in the tin can.
Imagine being the first humans to ever see that. *chills*
Too bad they ruined it by reading from Genesis. ;)
Must have been incredible.
They always have to drag religion in it
One guy just said "We were very fortunate? yes. But we were damn good, too."
:)
I get the impact on them and how they wanted to represent that, but, umm, most of the planet is not Christian.
Americans do big stuff and then leave a bad taste in your mouth. It's a gift.
I don't think they were considering what most of the world thought. And of course the Russians officially were aetheists
http://www.bbcprograms.com/catalog/Space Age/space age.htm
Neil Armstrong just ejected out of the lunar landing practice module before the whole thing crashed and went boom.
Sorry the link is weird. Turns out it's a bbc program.
True. They had to put their stamp on it, you're right.
I watched that a few days ago. Every time I have seen it they interview the other astronauts even they were amazed how calm he was afterwards.
They do great programs like that
This house is outstanding in its field.

Time for bed I think. Night all
Good night
I don't believe a word of this story.
That said if this happened, would this mean that F1 cars would only have wings on the right side?
yaaay an email from mr air asia. I like knowing they haven't forgotten about me :)
Loads of fun links, as always. :-) You should have come to Cologne, Gavin! :-)

Morning - thanks for all the nice comments - I didn't have much time to do the daily as I was packing last night, so apologies for missing a couple of links...
Next time, I promise! I'm going down with my parents in law so I'm sorta tagging along, but it's free transport so it should be fun ;)
We saw an Easter Bunny at the supermarket the other day and let's just say he got too friendly with Mrs. Goat ;)
Good morning everyone :)
Good morning all, and great Daily Gavin!
The Turun Sanomat newspaper says there has been 148 overtakings this season...
In China we saw 63 overtakings. The last time there was a Grand Prix like that was 20 years ago!
Your top 10 motorsport fail link has me watching the start of the 2005 US GP again. I still don't know if it was luck or not that that was the only race I slept through that year :) It was nice not to get up at 5am to watch it, but on the other hand, I really would've been watching history :D
I wasn't going to watch that race live but my mate sent me some angry texts, so I had to tune in!
My boyfriend watched it and I'm sure he would have woken me up to watch if I hadn't had an exam at 8.30 that morning. Poor timing Otago University, poor timing.
I only finally watched the race in full last year, after realising I still hadn't seen it.
Morning folks
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/athletics/13127429.stm
sad ... I remember she won the first marathon I watched on TV ...
Love the amount of variety in today's daily Gavin, great stuff :)
joe on the news corp story: http://joesaward.wordpress.com/2011/04/20/where-there-is-smoke/
What I think is interesting is that Sky News has had a number of F1 business scoops in recent months which seem to have emanated from CVC and its related bodies.
interesting.
How rude. I know who Peter Serafinowicz is.
:O
I heart him. So so funny. I even liked his TV show #intheminority
The joke that wasn't quite good
:D
Thanks man. Just come back from a 4km run. Sadly I'm not as fit as my buddy (I kept up with her for one lap, but left me for dead on the second) but it was a nice run and not bad for week 2 ;)
http://runkeeper.com/user/RubberGoat/activity/32428831
By the way Gavin, ace daily
:)
It looks very pretty where you run.
yay for running! I am pleased I went yesterday as its pouring with rain today! Tomorrow I'm going shopping for wintery running gear though, perhaps I'll get a jacket :)
it's like running around a turtle!!
:D
It's lovely. It's an old fort wall surrounded by a moat with 300 year old military buildings inside. The army still use it as an Admin base. Also nearby is the Little Mermaid, where we sit and eat sandwiches in summer...
I just run round housing estates and stuff. I wanna run round a turtle!
Just seen the news about Elizabeth Sladen's death, that is absolutely shocking news. Boo :(
I was playing with the map feature on Nike+ last night and now I have lots of various loops around places with streetlights in my neighbourhood to play with now that my usual track is too dark. I'm going to start with the 4km one but I've mapped out ones that go all the way up to 10km :D
I feel I'm getting ahead of myself.
I must be honest, I was very, very sad last night. I've been watching Doctor Who for 25 yearss and even after she left the show, she was the stablemate companion.
So very sad
In good news, Pamela has finally accepted that shes coming to Korea :D
Hehe!
she was worried they'd find a a loophole and make me go by myself :) Thankfully the email I got today asked for the travel details of who I would be taking :)
Good for you! You'll have a incredible experience :)
Have you ever been before to those Asian countries?
I've only been to Malaysia and Singapore and they're still very English-y so I think Korea will be quite a different experience :)
Take an umbrella, just in case :)
I think you won a contest, didn't you? Do they pay you the hotel room? Because the ones we saw last year in South Korea...
I sure do. I have to pay for the hotel but I'm yet to learn if they have one set aside for me. Either way if the journalists all stayed in love motels I'm sure I will be too :) It'll be quite an experience!
You are very lucky Amy ;)
I know! I have to keep pinching myself to remind myself it actually happened :)
It will be fine - probably quite fun at least!
from all my blog and twitter trawling of people who were there last year, they all said it was a little odd, but they all seemed to really enjoy their time there. Sounds like the locals bent over backwards to make F1 welcome.
Well, it's a country without motorsport culture, so obviously it may not be the same as the Albert Park (you are Australian, aren' you?)
Anyway last year it rained a lot, hope this year it will stay dry!
Will you be giving the dog stew a try?
At least the organisers at Korea are embracing some junior category formulae for both local and international races.
That's where a culture will grow from.
I live in Melbourne but I'm from New Zealand :D
well, you're only young once :)
Unless you're the Doctor
Ok. I am following you at twitter and I saw your profile picture was taken at the Albert Park :)
Brilliant, i cant wait to hear your review! :D
I have been offered similar delicacies repeatedly in China but there are some boundaries I will not cross ...
Someone got quite angry DM-ing me the other day demanding i change my profile picture!
Why? And what is it BTW?
It sure was! Did I read that you live near the Spanish GP Circuit? I visited there last year when there was no race on, an empty race track is quite odd!
My colleague was too once!
Yes, it's quite strange hehe. There are plenty of races during the year, but as the F1 there is no one...
Last year it snowed heavily here at Catalonia. Do you know where was recorded this video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9IZfrLnG1E
I am not sure about Korea I am yet to make it there, but the worst thing about these delicacies in CHina is that they show them these animals while they are still alive and basically expect you sentence them to being eaten ...
that really doesn't fit with the hot and sunny image I have of Spain in my head. It was 30 degrees and sunny when I was in Barcelona!
Yes, we are a crazy country with a crazy wheather...
Hehe, thats secret.
They claimed i had nefarious aims or something! was quite silly. They gave up after i asked why it worried them so much
PING about a fab BBC4 show that's just finished:
http://toata.wordpress.com/2011/04/20/180-twenty-twelves-great-surprise/
Well not that secret. Its a stick man either hiding behind something or pushing it upright
Oh yeah and we had a fire alarm this morning. I am the fire warden for our section, but when the alarm went off I was on the loo! :D
hehehehe
Everyone was gone when I started evacuating!
Fire alarms are designed to go off at the most awkward of times
That or a student was playing havoc at your workplace ;)
Well it was a false alarm thankfully :)
Going to the toilet at the wrong time can be a fire hazard, doncha' know?
;)
Hmm
says who ?
Thats what i thought, for something at the embrionic stage it has been blown out of all proportion.
...not to mention a silly blogger on twitter thinking the whole deal is about the uk.
Somebody who works for the Times? Dunno, thought it was worth sharing
Who?
Silly person
I think it is a smokescreen to deflect away from the German guy in prison thingy
Never heard of the company, but all sponsorship is worthwhile right now.
Looks like the indian GP will start at the top of the hour local, which means a half past start for the rest of the world. I expect confusion!
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/motorsport/formula_one/calendar/default.stm
Silly people!
oooh 9:30 am. Lovely time to wake up and watch a race
Not so bad is it?
I didn't get much choice in watching the race - there was a huge thunderstorm that started just before the coverage did and ended two hours after the race. Not being allowed to use the computers during a thunderstorm, it was sit there and watch the race and sit there reading and trying to ignore it. At least Tiago Monteiro did something worth watching (from my biased Jordan supporter's viewpoint).
I can live with that :)
ahh looks like I'll only miss FP1, I shall be home from work by the time FP2 starts :)
Here's another interesting tweet:
bit more:
When it comes to NewsCorp, always.
:)
Great Idea from anotherf1podcast! http://www.anotherf1podcast.com/2011/04/20/if-and-when/
Nice idea. Quite easy to understand :)
haha i just got asked why i was looking at pictures of coke.
oops!
Good idea though!
Hi guys, just a quick hello as I'm going to watch the second half of FP2 from Friday [hate it when practice coincides with work].
Anywho just had to say: yay I'm going to Korea! :D Thanks Amy!!!
And congrats to Kai for the career change!
woohoo! I am trying to work out if I can scan the passport I already have :)
Hi Pamela :)
Wow, just read this, awesome stuff Kai :)
Didn't see this at all
Good stuff Kai!!
Best of luck
:)
Good luck!
Could do with someone like that at the moment myself!
I have a spare passport pic from about a year ago so I'll use that. You may as well try, if AirAsia say no, then get a new pic taken?
thats my plan. I am going to spend my day tomorrow shopping for fun stuff instead. 6 day weekend!
Cool! So why no work tmrw? Have you taken leave? I am planning a shopping trip this weekend too. I love that the shops are open during public hols!
Yay!
Yeah cool eh
the people I work with do all their work for the contractors a day in advance and since Friday is a public holiday the contractors aren't working so theres no work for them on Thursday. Theres still work for me since I don't do what they do, but the boss told me not to come in and I don't need to be told twice.

Good enough reason :D
I dug out my photo for AirAsia. Didn't realise how much blonder I was 12 months ago. hehe
Jobs need to stop being so annoying. :(
What's he done now?
Oh no no no, not him. Those things where you need to comply with to get some money :)
Have applied for 26 jobs this week in newport and cardiff, just getting a bit sick of it.
That seems to be par for the course these days. Last time I was jobsearching I applied for 50 of them!
Any ideas what they are doing there?
Yeah I know. Can just be frustrating I guess.
Had a phone interview the other day for the first time and it was a bit bleh. It can be frustrating when I'm incredibly determined to find something, so so so determined, but sometimes it feels like one step forward two steps back.
Just keep plugging away. You'll get there and you have loads of skills!
Yeah it can be like that. It's not an easy process...
article is about two lines, picture is of two lines, that's all I got :D

Crazy talk!
A good read from George
who wants to come to disneyland with me :D
When are you going to disneyland?
Next year, I've decided since I'm going alllll the way to London I might hop on a train to Paris at the end of my trip and do the park that I missed out on last year.
It's beautiful :) I went there some years ago and it's the best park I've been to in my whole life.
There's a place in the park when you can drive cars around a circuit. Be aware and don't hit the cars whose drivers are kids.. Their fathers won't understand it was a mistake. Personal experience.
oooh. Apparently the evacuation this morning was an exercise. Funny that nobody told me (the evacuation coordinator ;)
Can I also reocmmend Parc Asterix in Paris? I personally preferred it to Disneyland but both are very good :)
He tweeted about it (yesterday, I think)
Asterix!
I did Disneyland Park and loved it but as I was leaving I saw the Earffel tower and I was like 'oh I really want to do the Walt Disney Studios Park too' and then I forgot about it. But one of my friends has recently been and when I saw her pictures on Facebook I was like 'oh yes that I must do!'
yep, a park about asterix and obelix :)
I haaaaaated Asterix when I was a kid. It might be like my personal hell.
I went there too ^^
Did I say recommend? I meant avoid.
or pay for me to go on your behalf.
That's like making a theme park all about Lego or something.
Hang on a second...
Yay!
The water rapids are the best rapids I've ever been on :)
is it wrong I really want to go to legoland...?
heheh
unfortunately I have not yet won the lottery
ooh I really want to go there too. #sidepodtrip?
No. Lego is awesome.
Yes!
If some of you actually come visit me, I'll take you there.
Being honest, I didn't know Legoland existed... http://lh3.ggpht.com/_RMCoxdm0DLc/SfYV5CzVeEE/AAAAAAAAAVA/zI50pJC9Tlg/LegolandGermany.jpg
Wrong one mate: http://www.legoland.dk/en/
would it be too much to ask for the FIA to have the 2012 calendar out next month? I really want to see if I can fit any races into my Olympic trip. My guess is no, but just in case ;)
If we're lucky the calender will be out in time for buying Paralympic tickets.
I think we don't have a Legoland here in Spain...
Or Windsor. Or California, apparently. Who knew there were so many?
Imagine. I've just discovered they exist hehehe
I did
'cause I'm a Lego freak ;)
Hehe!
The one in Denmark is the original one, and it's awesome. I go with my nieces and we have so much fun!
you've not been to legoland? not even as a kid? i went there once.. lost a tooth :(
And they've got their LegoHotel too :D !
My brother would love to go there, he is a Lego freak
Apparently it's really cool. At one of the Cafés they serve lego brick chips!
never, I really always wanted to go
I have never been either. It occurs to me that it is quite yellow.
I am scared I will fall into it and the whole park will fall apart
We'll get there eventually, my son is a lego freak as well. My wife and daughter are lego fans at least, so they sort of put up with us :)
Except when I want to buy one of the bigger kits... then the wife doesn't put up with it so much ;)
What a Legoland map I've just found :D http://www.legoland.dk/en/Explore/
Do you think the ground is like that green bobbly stuff?
Last time I went I crashed my car on the driving thingy.
Hi people.
i went when i was small (hence loosing a tooth) i suspect it's changed alot since i went.
I went with Alison last year, they had lego ducks which she liked
I feel like the first thing I'll do next time I go to a theme park is go 'oooh rollercoasters' and completely forget that I've sworn to never go on one again because they do not agree with me.
maybe it would be best you don't go.. you may be a tiny bit disappointed.. :)
Indeed.
Oh.
I need to go to ferrari world. Must not forget!
I went on 3 on Monday night ;)
#sorrymrsc
There's a new interview in the F1's website (with Hamilton) http://www.formula1.com/news/interviews/2011/4/11958.html
damn my motion sickness, I could see why they would be fun if you didn't feel nauseous for 4 hours after a 2 minute ride.
They said they wanted to build a Ferrari World in Valencia, but I think it's unlikely...
Legoland is awesome though - they have a great ride through the pyramids where you shoot lasers at targets, a pirate ship with water cannons, a human powered fire engine, some great rollercoasters, the driving school, panning for gold and finally the miniature world is awesome
Too late
oh wow.
I suffer from a bit of vertigo but I love the speed!
Hehe.

I am disappointed there is not a K'nexland.
i know, it sounded like a near death experience. 'cept for the mahoosive catch fence.
I wouldn't like a tyre coming barrelling towards me.
when you're behind a fence?
Bet the fence was made in china!
There was a catch fence when buemi's tyres kerploded off
I flinch when the car in front sprays it's own windows. So yea.
Still not a pleasant experience though
when the tyres flew over the fence I mean
that jumped the fence, didn't it?
....
ohkay :)
a tiger jumped up at me the other day, all that was separating us was glass, and i was a bit scared... so fence or no fence it'll be scary?
It hit the fence and went over it
If you can see it coming at you, it's human nature to flinch and be a bit worried for your safety. You don't know that fence isn't just going to fall down.
why? it's designed to stop stronger stuff that an tyre / tiger.
Clearly you are a robot.
clearly i'm braver than all of ya :)
...and adam.
Please tell me it launched like this http://artmasters.serdar-hizli-art.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/tigger-stand-up.jpg ! :D
Intellectually, yes you generally know that. However, that's the kind of message that never gets passed on from the human part of the brain to the mammalian/reptillian part. Fear in that situation is a reflex action and not necessarily to do with clear thinking.
:D
..............
theres a reptile in your brain.
well yes, but when it actually happens you don't think
'ahh i'm okay cause there is a fence in the way' you just think 'eeekkkkk!!'
you can't beat human nature..
Translation: people are only partly logical.
Let's launch a tiger at Mr C and see what happens.
haha
I meant there's a part of your brain wired in basically the same way as our reptillian ancestor's brains 150 million years ago was wired. They didn't have crash barriers 150 million years ago*.
* - Or tyres, come to think of it...
that would explain soooooo much.
can you wait a year? I'd love to see it.
:)
it's kermit the frog.
It may take me a while to source a tiger, so... yes.
:D (though Kermit is an amphibian, some of whose ancestors were also the ancestors of the reptiles of whom we are descendants).
#wafflemodeon
again.... soooooo much.
come to the zoo near my house.. there is glass in the way but that's probably best..
Oh, glass, yes, of course. Eh-hem.
excellent. see you in 464 days (nb: I am not counting down, the london2012 website is doing it for me :D)
If you find one crouching...
Watch out for the Dragon, its usualy hidden
actually I think Kermit is a muppet.

Hehe.

our ticket request window closes on Friday which can only mean that the ballot announcement can't be too far after that. I'm scared.
I am playing the podcast on the homepage in IE9 and its stopping after 16:22 every time
I thought it was the 26th?
:D
Is the 26th a UK-only window?
by ours I mean Australias :)
it's probably cached it after a download disconnect. clear your cache and give it another go. short shows ftw!
Ah, i was going to apply from the UK, didnt realise you could do it internationally #NewPlan
you can't. You have to apply where you reside. I was going to apply via NZ but I can't even do that even though I'm a citizen.
Will do. Cache's are a bit of a nightmare hear because the ISP tries to be clever and does something themselves
Ridiculously complicated, I hope a UK credit card will help me skip these shenanigans
Still wondering whether to apply for the football ones in the millenium stadium. Don;t think I will though.
try forcing it:

aw why not? I'd be going nuts if there was something in my backyard #olympicsjunkie
I dunno. Maybe watching Twenty Twelve has made me feel very apathetic about the games now :)
Ah thanks, it doesnt need an &?
Hehe. I just about coped with a football match. I think the Olympics would be a massive step upwards!
aww do it! you could go with your mum? as a football fan i'm sure she'd love it! :)
I would, but I'm saving up for the Paralympics in September for several different reasons.
Next I need to stock up on Kiwiana t-shirts so I can be visibly fiercely patriotic while I'm there :D Perhaps this hoody, it's a country, made up of Kiwis. Ha! Punny!
There's all sorts of crazy rules with Olympic football too like Under 24's only and only two capped players and this and that... it's all a bit confusing to me who they're allowed to actually pick for their teams.
And there's the whole Team GB football team argument that no football association seems to be able to agree on...
ooh working in chrome!
It's basically a U23 tournament with unsung talents.
I need to write to my local olympic org who will likely tell me i can only apply if i am an emirati citizen
if you like:
http://media.sidepodcast.com/episodes/media/debrief/debrief154.mp3?givemethewholefilethistime=true&amisure=yesiam
I think I need to watch that, I get the feeling it's much like The Games and I loved that series :)
It can't be that effective if the only player who stands out from the last olympics when Argentina won was Lionel messi who was already regarded as the best player in the world anyways!
I just find the whole football competition a mess in the Olympics.
Gavin commented on that on my post and it is remarkably similar by the sounds of things!
reading that Wiki page I see they're making a 2011 version about London. Must. Watch!
I much prefer the swimming elegibility rules (to wit, if you can swim quick enough, you can enter).
Much easier :)
Hehe. All of the Olympics is quite confusing to me :)
hahaha :D
I literally LOL'd in the office
Yeah, tell that to mermaids!
Tweet from Lucas: Go karting
Do you think it's an update or an instruction?
Illegal leg-kick (unless it's freestyle, in which case they could enter, but would probably be put in the Paralympic team due to having no legs).
:D Both?
I was trying to sort karting out earlier for a friend's birthday so he's done well to predict that

Hi folks
Am midway through the Debrief [one of those weeks] and I like the sound of the kitchen towel challenge.
Q: The 'Kitchen Oil' Mr C refers to - is this cooking oil or some lubricant for servicing kitchen appliances?
something with a low flashpoint. no-one is going to hospital and saying "sidepodcast told me to mop up fuel faster than mclaren".
Hehehe.
It's good, it's good. I was learning about learning.
hmmm. i might read it then.
You want it to be ignitable at low temps?
Yikes, extreme cleaning and extreme ironing in one week :)
Water?
oh. no, the opposite.
Or maybe non-flammable hydraulic fluid like Skydrol [aircraft grade] :)
For me it is not so much the mopping, but the getting kitchen towel off the roll quickly.
If the Andrex puppy can do it...
but not in a long line, otherwise it's just a heap of towel. it needs to have a purpose.
I think it may be an engineering trait but I don't remember learning it in my apprenticeship
Bulk and multiple plies is the key
yeah, that's what they were doing i think. we may need to study a slo-mo replay.
I see a McLaren garage/Bounty kitchen towel 'ladies' photoshop in the wings :)
Their is an author named Donald Miller who in a book title Blue Like Jazz proclaimed he had never owned a T.V. until a certain point and one day he heard someone say that watching T.V. was actually like doing negative work and he thought the idea sounded heavenly and bought a T.V. that day. So every time I watch a T.V. I just look at it as being in heaven.
uh oh
*looks at whats open in taskbar*
Bounty is called Plenty now?
When did that happen?
get your garage bounty clean?
Dear marketing peeps,
Stop. Changing. All. The. Names!
Maybe people were wondering why they couldn't taste the coconut.
If so, I think these are the same people confusing Utes with Ferraris

Today is the Spanish Cup final! Barça-Madrid.
Who will win?
Football? Cup Final on a Wednesday, is that usual?
Erm yes. It's football, and as I said, the country where I live is a little bit strange hehehe.
And plus, there's an important part of the spanish population (the Catalan people) who would like to become a country (I am one of those :))
We are seven million people, and Barcelona is the biggest city of Catalonia, so don't be stranged if you are watching the match and you see Barça's fans whistling to the national anthem...
Hi guys
Thank you to everyone for the kind words and encouragement in my new venture. I really appreciate your support.
Thats bigging up GMM a bit dont you think?
Gizmodo is good, a lot less willing to put out PR and kill stories for their advertisers than many of the tech blogs
I disagree
Hey Kai
Fortune favours the brave, and all that :)
Well, moderately brave, maybe, to just be myself and not try to use a shoehorn to fit myself into a job. I'll create a job that fits me instead. I think this is why nothing came of alllll those applications I've sent out over the years. Now it makes perfect sense. The puzzle pieces seem to be coming together.
I just watched a very unnerving documentary on Frontline about aircraft maintenance in the US,
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/flying-cheaper/?utm_campaign=viewpage&utm_medium=grid&utm_source=grid&utm_nooveride=1
It was about finding maintenance places on the cheap, where they don't actually do the work and use parts that should be thrown out. US AIrways was one airline they mentioned by name using this place/these places.
They have original reporting, they source when they quote/repost and generaly have a pretty neutral reporting across quite a broad area.
Jobs doesnt like them because they killed 3Gs sales, after quite a big scoop.
but each to their own
Hello
Hi!
I don't care what they write about Apple, I'd rather know the good and the bad. I don't like that their owner openly admits he will shell out cash for more clicks.
How much respect do they have of their peers?
I don't know but it's a valid question
Hi Pat
Sounds like a few folk should be getting FAA audits pretty soon
Hi Pat
How's the West Country these days?
When they sign off on fuel leak repairs that no one touched? um, yeah.
There's a far, far more important match going on than Barca-Real...
1) I don't think sales were hit that bad
2) Scoop and buying stolen property aren't the same thing
Which one?
Awesome idea.
But whats wrong with that?
Do a google search, plenty of advertisers paying for clicks
Newspapers subsidized the cost of their papers for most of the 20th century.
news orgs all over the world will pay for photos or footage
Is it that different?
very little.
I'm not getting into a marketing discussion [it being evil ;)]
I just don't rate G!zmodo and we'll agree to disagree :D
Lovely and warm and sunny, at lunchtimes I've started to sit in the field near the office for half an hour. Missed it today as I had to be inside for something. London must be a bit oppressive with it though
The defence rests
Spurs-Arsenal.
Not that I'm biased.
It wasnt as if they burgled someones house,
It was a lost item that you could argue was in the public's interest to know about
i'm with you, on the grounds that there are better/more respectable sites out there carrying more relevant news.
gizmodo were the people who went round switching off all the tv's at cebit or something weren't they? it's a site run by kids really.
didn't realise there was a stigma of negativity to gizmodo but you learn something new every day
A bit sticky at times, the hangar doors are wide open but the enormous glass roof doesn't help. Luckily our on-site office is kinda air-conditioned
Same.
Laughable.
I dont know,
I think Gawker have been one of a number of online news sites which have proven you can have a viable online news model. given that many journalists think its all but over is no mean feat.
Popular and good aren't the same. The UK's best selling newspaper is The Sun
Ahh, big greenhouse
Heheheh touche :D
to me this is a bit childish, but each to there own: http://gizmodo.com/#!343348/confessions-the-meanest-thing-gizmodo-did-at-ces
MAKE offered us some TV-B-Gone clickers to bring to the show, we pretty much couldn't help ourselves. We shut off a TV. And then another. And then a wall of TVs. And we just couldn't stop. (And Panasonic, you're so lucky that 150-incher didn't have an active IR port.) It was too much fun, but watching this video, we realize it probably made some people's jobs harder, and I don't agree with that (Especially Motorola). We're sorry.
They actually went to a show which makes the GMM comparison a bit laughable
Moving on. I'm glad I'm working on the 29th
The wedding tv spots are already winding me up and that's just on the BBC News channel. I heard they were streaming it too, I bet all the platforms have apps for it :)
and what did they report on? it's like going to an f1 race and interfering with all the radio signals.
I had one of those Casio watches which is also a remote control. I did that too. At school. When I was 15. In 1995.
:)
or rather, it's like going to an f1 race, to deliberately interfere with radio signals.
there are better, more respectable, more intelligent sites out there than gawker. but read what makes you happy, i say.
:) :)
It was 3 years ago, im sure they didnt go to CES just to turn off TVs!
It's nonstop here, I can only imagine what it is there.
it's all i recall them doing, if that counts for anything.
e.g. http://icanhascheezburger.com/
Ron Dennis!
In all honesty apart from the odd news report I haven't seen anything mentioned
it's a mega #mfc effort though. they're going itunes crazy in the royal house. am very interested to see how it all works out.
Our coverage starts at 4am.
Not that I;'m saying it hasn;t been reported at all :) I just haven't seen it everywhere as I expected it to be
Not that bad but with US advertising, I can see it being a tad more unbearable
They did have a thing on the news the other day showing the US preperations though and it did look mental.
Ignorance is bliss.. I've managed to ignore the media circus. A lot of people wouldn't be so anti or ambivalent if the media wasn't so hyped up. I've noted the rampant commercialism though, some unintentionally funny bits of tat are appearing in local shops.
Do weddings have FP1?
The other night I was actually get sooo sick of ads during the 2 races I was trying to watch that I turned them both off. I needed a break from it.
Shutting up EJ is allowed :)
ads in general, not for the wedding. Race fans aren't really their demo. ;)
there's a shakedown the day before. jake will no doubt be on the ground, screaming over top of a generator to give you that 'being there' feel.
Is that like an installation lap?
#AllNewToMe
Yeah, the rehearsal dinner.
I know how to eat dinner, I do it quite often!
I haven't seen much, just the odd story here and there, and some extra displays in the shops.
what day is it?
I missed this. Poor Jenson: http://twitpic.com/4mumyr

After the rehearsal at the church everyone goes for a nice dinner the night before. I wonder if and how they would rehearse with all the press.
Today, it's Wednesday
The wedding? Fri 29th
:(
It's Wednesday.
Oh, the wedding? Saturday, right?
Obviously the ads are working on me.
Not really!
are you sure? there's no spanish wednesday, i'm not convinced.
How about Marti's article he linked to, it's en espanol.

I am planning on bailing early from a party to come home and watch. I have the choice of 7 channels but i'm going to go with the bbc coverage that is being simulcast on uktv. Because i like jake. Sue me, i'm kind of curious :)
I feel bad for them having to say their vows in front of the entire world. I didn't like doing it in front of about four people.
Hmm we have a 20 minute break in the coverage for the graham norton show. Thats odd, i had no idea he was apparently so unmissable
jake is actually doing it? i was kinda joking.
Did you not know? He he
i was telling my brother about how he cant come to my imaginary wedding because i dont want wedding guests. The whole world is far too many.
not in the slightest. crazy talk.
I thought amy was joking about jake!
Yeah, my goodness. That's the worst part, the performance aspect of it. eek.
i wasnt curious about watching it until i read that he was. Being not british ive only ever seen him as the f1 man so i want to see him in another role.

Hello SU
Good habit to have. What fun. :)
Too many video cameras in everyone's pocket these days, I may have to retire and hang up the Nikes :)
I cant find my phone and it has an 8am alarm set, noooo!
You Tube sensation, you could be.
#yodaspeak
Ring it, do you have a home phone?
Ask someone to call you, this way you'll know where your phone is :)
I never said I was good, just that I did it.. a few times [too many]
its turned off. Crisis averted though, it was in my pocket of what i wore today :)
You don't have to be good, you just have to commit to it, and it sounds like that's what you did. Fun.
Off! [faints]
I taught someones young brother how to swan dive :)
flat battery. But it seems to conserve just enough to be able to turn on at alarm time. Handy if you actually want the alarm though.
hehe!
Or you could charge it, whatever works. Now shoo! :)
i hadnt looked at it for 11 hours. Im not a phone junkie :)
Now im shooing!
I rarely make calls on mine but I use it constantly for other stuff :D

Virgin Media has announced plans to begin testing internet speeds of up to 1.5Gb in east London - the world's fastest ever trial of cable broadband.
Snappy!
Bet it'll come at a eye watering price though
Not to mention, their traffic management policies
as a reference point: more than 240 times faster than the national average
Breathtaking.

I love The Onion: video Should The Nation's Unemployed Be Buying New Apple Computers?
Second 52. I agree with him.
I don't have to worry about viruses anymore. Me and Spybot used to be *like this* - fingers close together.
Kai, did I ever give you the link to the short Mac Tips video podcasts?
http://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/mac-quick-tips/id257243321
I'm a happy (over the moon) mac convert, though, and we can agree to disagree. :)
No, I don't think so. Thanks!!
Yes, that's true. Apple computers are much safer than Windows ones, but, in case of people who doesn't have a job and whose economical situation is delicated, I don't see why they have to invest thousand dollars in buying Mac.
It's true those computers are safer, but they are very very very expensive.
The Onion is a comedy news site
They're only safer because the bad guys spend much more effort in attacking windows boxes.
And I'm a mac fan. Luckily I work for a company that pays for most of my macs ;)
oh my gosh, yeah, I'm not talking about buying one if you're unemployed, holy crap. That was a complete spoof video.
Touché. I didn't know it hehe
A testament to how good they are. ;)
am listening to something else, so i don't have audio. but is that whole set built for the onion, or are they just overdubbing something in a comedic way?
surely that's a proper news television studio?
I think thy have a pretty big budget or good fx
Pretty sure it's a set built for The Onion. They even have a half hour tv show over here in the states, I think it's on comedy central.
It's definitely spoken rather than dubbed but it's quite possibly a borrowed studio?
Not dubbed though
Yeah, they have the ONN, Onion News Network show on tv now.
ahhh, that i did not know.
http://www.theonion.com/channels/ifc/
Yes yes YES!!! In your face student finance. Crazily (dis)organised filing system comes out on top :D
Jusst been playing suzuka on the xbox,
it weill be interesting where they put the DRSZ there.
I guess the run down to 130r would be too dangerous, on the other hand turn 1 is so open then tight there could be accidents.
will be a good one!
trying to think of other places which might have issues..
It's difficult to guess...
I think it will be also interesting to know where is the DRS zone put in Monaco... Talking about the urban circuits, I guess in Valencia it will be in the straight were Webber crashed last year. And in Singapore... maybe in the straight before turn 7?
Hello.
Eyeteaguy
Heya
I guess the tunnel into the chicane provides the best overtaking chance, but they will need the downforce maybe?
Going up the hill? but its very narrow still
Good evening :)
DRS, do we really need it with the tyres doing their thing?
I know Alonso does, otherwise Lewis will think he is sweet on him.
Yes, I had thought about it. It's true that the straight before the chicane is not a straight, it's a wide fast curve, so maybe they'll need some downforce there.
Where were the guys using the f-duct last year, that would be a good indication.
Let's give it a few more races, I think it's a good stop gap until an overhaul of aero is achieved
Let's try to find some on-board videos...
did they run with it there?
Kubica did for sure as Steve Matchet mentioned it in his Debrief that he used it in some strange places. But then again, Kubica is a racing god.
There's a on-board video at F1's website of the lap que did last year during the last qualifying session.

One question, why do I sometimes find a panda in my screen when I enter at the Sidepodcast daily discussion page :P?
hehhee
Maybe she is SU?
:)
the site goes to sleep when you're not using it to save resources. the panda minds the site for us.
Christine loves pandas, so the icon used for an idle page is the panda.
Yes, it must be her hehe.
I couldnt see him using the Fduct with his hands, but i guess the ony place for DRS would be the main straight, i think even there it wont have much effect.
Tyres will have a bigger effect there i think
Original idea! I never saw anything like that until today hehe :)
Well, time to close the PC.
See you tomorrow :)

Hello all, how are we?
I'm nearly ready for the relatives to arrive tomorrow. Nice man from Tesco has delivered the food, spare bedroom is prepared, now just got to get through half a day at work :).
Hi Janna
Looking forward to 3 extra Lieu days in 9 days time
#Positive
Hi Janna!
Sounds like you're ready.
Stay positive ;)
Just got a basket of ironing to do so I've got some clothes to wear over the weekend but I'm having an internet break first.
Extreme ironing?
Breaks are good.
:)
I'm debating going out to get a new journal right now or not. New things require new journals.
well, I will be listening to The Archers. Not sure you could get more extreme.
Paper? Is that still legal?
Any new stationery is good
oooh yes. And I get to design a new business card, too.
hehe
I don't easily fit into one category. I still love the act of writing and I also love technology and digital stuff.
I actually like nice stationary but I only write with pen at work now.
All of our docs have to be super legible so most of my handwriting is in capitals now. I'm like a 6 year old before joined-up writing :)
Handovers, Aircraft Tech Log, etc
:)
Tilke's fault
Heheh is it just me who's writing is much easier to read in lowercase?
....nope.
oh, you mean handwriting? pass.
:)
:D
It looks like I am having an argumentative evening. I hadn't planned on that and I am not really in an argumentative mood.
Yes you are!!!
:D
hehe
Don't you start
Nick is already in a mood with me because I love the HMRC man ♥
we may have upset him by calling gawker a bit crap. oops.
Dubai has an innate fear of tax
It's not his fault, it's his environment
Why HMRC
If you must know, he reminded me that I'd had casual work in 2008/9 and earned a cool £82 which when you were £39 under an earnings threshold year is happy news.
I couldn't expect you to fully understand our love.
I don't even know what that is :D I tend to leave him to live a happy life with his internetz :P
Very wise
If he wants to defend some site, it could at least be a decent one :)
Extreme Lego?

but you paid for an argument!

Looks like the Indians have got their space program back on track,

NASA has handed out a load of money to fund the development of commercial space vehicles.

While its half time at the football, yesterday was one year since the first daily guest post... http://sidepodcast.com/post/daily-19th-april-2010
Awww, wow!
Cool
Speaking of dates, someone said on twitter that tomorrow is the date 'the robots came' according to Terminator
That is incredible
:D
the date for skynet going online was last night, I tink.
Yup and then something about two days later
I had no idea
I settled for weird....
I checked a few weeks ago how long it was, and was gonna comment yesterday but was never online.
I'm very disappointed with my pay check this month :( It's due tomorrow but I can see it in my bank account taunting me :( I'm supposed to be renewing my car insurance
I'm going out for that journal.
Catch you later, folks.
See ya Kai
Pay Cheque?
Renew it after midnight
Obviously it's BACS but I can see it there as pending and it looks really low. BOOOOO!!
the year's going too fast. we should've had a post to celebrate.
I was mocking your American spelling :D
Can have 52 weeks of Daily Guest Posts
Still can.
oooh, can we have cake too?
:)
Don't you get a payslip in advance? I thought that was a requirement
Payday is tomorrow because it would otherwise be Easter Monday so I'm sure the payslip will arrive at some point.
Youve just had cake!
It's sent by post?
i have a taste for it now.
Yes, they're all posted to work. Where do your payslips come from?
ours are always in work and we collect them
Your manager must get them from somewhere though? Do you have an in house payroll department in every store?? I presumed most companies had a central payroll. The slips for everyone that works on our site are posted in a big envelope that I can then hand out.
they are just in the office on a Friday. I like to think the money Stork drops them off :)
Hehe!
We are talking to Joe. I am not commenting. Shh.
:D
You can't do a show now without commenting as well
Multitasking.
Show off
Lets be honest, we do not have to do much talking in this show :)
I am sure that they will let you get a word in here or there
I am desperately trying to keep the show on topic. Boys, tsk.
Online only
This is becoming a habit :)
That's all well and good but how do you do things like apply for a student loan?
Print them?
Or attach. I download them when I remember, about 2 or 3 times a year and store on my 'puter
Fair enough. I'm not desperately attached to the paperness. If you left your job, could you still access old payslips?
Probaby lose intranet access, wich is why I grab electronic copies
Oh yes, Daily. I nearly forgot.
Fair enough. I take all my documents like that and shove them indiscriminately into this box. This has meant I've been able to find loads of evidence for X Y and Z (eventually). I just don't know how I'd manage that without the box :P
:D
I have one of those but nothing new has gone into it in the last 18 months at least. E-bills & statements now
Yeah I'm not so bothered about getting them on paper. I guess I feel like I rarely have to prove how much my phone bill was back in March 2007 :P
After 3 late nights, I am going to attempt an early one and go offline before bed.
Catch ya later peeps
night Bassano
Happy sleeping :)
Night
Night :)
Right, after being asked by the outlaws to update the GPS and being treated to roast dinner and a whisky or two, I have to sleep now as I am up early to start the drive to Berlin.
Happy Easter everyone, stay safe, eat loads of chocolate and I'll see you Sunday night ;)
Good evening everyone :)
Bye gavin, have a safe drive and a nice easter :)
Have a great weekend :)
Enjoy Berlin.
night Gavin. Have a Safe Journey
Berlin is awesome for a number of reasons:
1) Panda
2) Why do you need a point 2?
Is the only capital city in Europe without a football team playing in its national top division?
That's why Germany has got football right not wrong? No? Not so slavish to capital cities but much more about the fans?
I am given to understand, rather than understanding directly, that Germany has a very high percentage of fan ownership of teams and - sure I may be being idealistic - but I think that sounds like a great thing
Interesting. Didn't knowthat
Actually its rubbish, Wales doesn't have it either.
We will soon!
Hopefully
Can be both good and bad but at least you have the club at the heart than say a money grabbing chairman only there to make a quick million or whatever.
That's different. If Cardiff played in Wales they would be in the top league
I feel like the local fans should have more of a say... sure it's hard to compete with the huge payers... but a sport shouldn't have to rely on them. It should be self sustaining.
mr joe saward = legend. great podcast this evening, hopefully it'll make for a good show.
I think the chances are pretty good :)
Look forward to it
We talked for so long that I was boiling in here, and once we said goodbye I ran out the door so fast that I tripped over and properly hurt my toe.
That is dedication to the Joe show, I say.
I am sure Mr C will take care of your toe
Chop it off probably.
He's sympathetic like that :)
I think you should refer to it as your Joe Toe from here on out :)
Hehe, yes!
clumsy
iTunes downloads appear to be failing bigstyle. I thought my iPad was broken for a minute there (along with my toe!)
:D
tonight am listening to stereophonics's's greatest hits and it makes me a bit sad Kelly Jones went a bit up himself, they made some darned good music.
But iPad doesn't rhyme with Joe... so it can't be that ;)
Points for Lewis for re-establishing the power of miracles

Quick video I just had to share PING - http://toata.wordpress.com/2011/04/20/181-the-real-way-to-play-guitar-hero/
much better.
St Martin of Whitmarsh :-)
:D
HRT lost points for Kolles de-valuing miracles so it seems only fair that St Lewis gets some
For potentially the first time ever for me, an on-time Daily ping - http://sidepodcast.com/post/daily-21st-april-2011
