Happy Birthday Christine!
Do join me in wishing a very happy birthday to Christine!
I'm sure the ideal birthday present would be to install a Kindle app of some kind and buy her new book. I was going to do it yesterday but I got distracted by reading all the blog posts I'm about to link (and, er, Alan Sugar), so that makes it your fault. How could you.
Light Reading
Here is some further light reading..
With the FIA at last confirming the final final final 2011 Calendar, returning the Indian GP to the original date, here is a post discussing the forthcoming 21-race (or 20) calendar next season. I have a feeling there have been a few posts about this now, or we've just discussed it a bit, but it is worth revisiting often because I'm sure somewhere there are people with influence being fed information on what F1 sites are saying and they need to know 21 is too many!
Lou took some great shots of Andy Murray at the tennis on Monday.
Someone stole a drift racing car from Santa Pod raceway and drove it on the M25! The video may be UK only but I'm not sure.
Jackie has returned to blogging! This one is about performance enhancing drugs in motorsport, do give it a read.
Speaking of returns, RG has brought us an update to the New Teams Championship after putting it on hiatus since the end of last year. It is interesting to see how things have moved on after 7 races of the new season. Do also have a look at his predictions for the US Open.
If like me you have a Wordpress.com blog, Christine found that you can now use a new feature called 'Custom Design' which makes font-choice much easier and allows you to change the CSS design. It does cost a small fee though. There's a free sampler which I intend to try tonight!
I do love a good motorsport mashup, people and cars appearing in someone else's world. That's why I like car swaps and McLaren are doing well at them at the moment. First it was Jenson Button trying a V8 Supercar at Bathurst, now Lewis Hamilton has tried a NASCAR Cup car at Watkins Glen.. on the IndyCar layout. Here's a great summary and (amateur) video from SB Nation's Jeff Gluck. You can also see Speed's coverage here (use links on the sides for more). Great to hear they enjoyed it so much, and the enjoyed the track too! Shame about the weather.
Weekend Racing
After the stunning amount of action last weekend I don't know if you want to watch any more this week, but if you do you could take in any of these:
- IndyCar - Milwaukee Mile
- WRC - Acropolis Rally
- DTM - EuroSpeedway Lausitz (road course version)
- WTCC - Brno
- BTCC - Croft
- NASCAR Cup (& Nationwide Series) - Michigan
- FRenault 3.5 - Nurburgring
- World Superbike - Motorland Aragon
- V8 Supercar - Hidden Valley
Recommended Race of the Week: I do love the Milwaukee Mile. Don't tune in expecting it to be your usual-shaped oval with the usual sort of racing. It races just like a road course but is small with a bumpy surface and a lot of traffic to negotiate. The drivers have to really wrestle and work hard here. For an oval it has hardly any banking to it so it is very traditional in that regard. They don't make them like this any more.
Note: If there are any of you who last weekend, like me, bought a one-month Eurosport Player subscription to watch Le Mans, if you want to make the most of it before it expires you'll find WTCC, FR3.5 and Superbikes on their channels this weekend. The WTCC races are barely half an hour each. #speedsporting
By the way, don't forget it is Fathers Day on Sunday, at least in the UK but I presume elsewhere too.
Okay that's Thursday sorted, onwards!
happy birthday Christine!
In the US Store your book is twice as popular as 'that git'
Thats my maths assuming 6th is twice as popular as 12th and I know thats not actually how it works :)
yes!!
(hearts)
It's Christine's Birthday. Someone remind Mr C
Happy Birthday Christine
Bonne fête Christine!
Happy Birthday, Christine! :D
woohoo and cheers pat. milky bars are on me.
Currently working in a place called Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. Previously used to be called "Berlin", Ontario before WWI, so
"Alles gute zum Geburtstag", Chrstine! :P
It's a nice little town. Did a 3 month stint out there last year. Lots of university and high-tech. RIM (blackerry), Opentext, Google. TONS of insurance and finance stuff.
Anywhere close to October/November or whenever that massive beer crawl festival is again....
No, I was there in the spring. Octoberfest is great, especially if you remember to go to the Hans Haus to get some leiderhosen! (sp?)
Aus GP Corp tooting their horn about hosting the Senna premiere, all comments on Facebook are negative because no one really cares about Australian "celebrities" getting to see a movie :D
I'd be surprised if more than 20% of attendees even know who he was.
I'm sure all premieres everywhere around the world are like that though.

I find that when I hear the word "celebrity" it is usually referred to some person who seems promised to blow someelse's good name, fortune, repetution done the sewer....

Good morning Sidepodcast & happy birthday Christine
In the continuing tyre saga at Chez Bassano, I have another slow puncture with an embedded screw, also a chunk out of the sidewall so it looks like another new Dunlop this morning

You're rebooting the franchise.
Morning all,
Happy birthday Christine !!
Happy Birthday Christine!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRISTIME!!!
*CHRISTINE!
(stupid M and N keys right next to each other, who's bright idea was that, less the keys stuck together?!)
so, how is everybody today?
Morning! Tired, teensy bit hungover but managing. Got an Openreach engineer hopefully sorting my line and broadband today!
Stop CHRIS TIME

As EJ would say, "that was just shocking!!"
;)
If I ever got that from EJ I would blush horrendously.
And rightly so
:D
I can just imagine DC shaking his head too, and Jake smiling as he covers for them in front of the camera.

fab post about podcasts, iphones, apps and general f1 goodness from jumblerant: http://jumblerant.blogspot.com/2011/06/twitter-iphones-and-fast-cars.html
Oh, Joe. You stoke the fire...
http://joesaward.wordpress.com/2011/06/16/a-look-at-the-silly-season-in-f1/
Webber to Ferrari would be a nice retirement present, but I'm not sure Webber's any quicker than Massa. Hamilton to RBR would be interesting, but would McLaren release him from his contract?
Kobyashi to mclaren would be nice, but i cant see Hamilton or Jenson leaving
every time lewis has a bad race he's "leaving". i guess it depends how bad the race is :)
When JB said he was moving to McLaren, it seemed impossible he would fit there, but now it's hard to imagine he was anywhere else!
lewis might struggle at "team marko" too.
It seems that way now, but in a few years we'll be saying, how did he ever fit in at McLaren? :)
if you believe the Flavio to Ferrari rumours then Webber going there is quite possible ;)
Thanks for all the birthday wishes, lovely people.
i can't imagine what flav can bring to ferrari, unless it's a stepping stone to bernie's job.
He's had a few bad races in a while, now. Mind you, Joe mentioning it means there may be more to this than meets the eye.
Ala-Kimi? That may be a better path than going to an Alonso-led Ferrari right now.
Neither do I. but the rumours don't seem to go away.
it's not totally implausible. flav did win 4 WDCs and 3 WCCs. stefano has only won 1 WCC.
Joe's probably right though. It may be more for Webber (or even Alonso) than himself.
I think Lewis will wait to see where McLaren are next year before he makes the choice on 2013.
I'm inclined to agree.
but Flav cost them the 08 drivers championship, or at least that is what they went on about at the time. It would require a massive u-turn on what they said about crashgate.
Massa said that, not Ferrari. If they're letting Massa go, it won't really matter.
I can't imagine Luca would have been too happy either ;)
I just cant imagine luca being happy
:D But if LDM leaves too (for Italian politics), again, will it really matter?
I suppose not, but the sport shouldn't be allowing Flavio back in...
IIRC, team principals now have licenses too (similar to drivers). That would play against Flav.
well, there has been similar article on Autosport web for few days. main difference is Autosport article suggests Massa will stay put in Ferrari in 2012 and as all the other drivers in top teams (bar Webber) have contracts for next season. as a result they do not expect much movement in the top teams next season but a lot of changes in 2013
but switching teams for 2013 will be tricky. if all the new regulations will be in place the cars will be brand new, situation not much different from 2009 season - and that was when the order got pretty shaken up ... moving to team that is better now may be a move in wrong direction for 2013 ... who knows ...
Oooh... I'll do a GMM style conspiracy theory... I can exclusively reveal (that I just made up) that sources are saying that the only reason Ferrari didn't object to Mike Coughlan's return was to sure up support for Flav's return.
Thank you London for this mornings rain,
I am currently squeezing water out of my socks
Good point... Mr Wolf... I would say that when the regulations change most teams struggle to deal with it except McLaren... They seem, for the last 5-10 years, the most consistant at improving their car during the season.
I think we will still see Red Bull at the top of the pile in 2013...
#NotQuiteF1
Audi: Tom Kristensen will be stepping in for Mike Rockenfeller while the latter continues to recover from his horrific Le Mans crash
in DTM?
Yep
Here we go
http://www.touringcartimes.com/article.php?id=6303
wow.
feel bad for Rocky, but that was a monster accident
I guess my Twitter profile is rising here!
Just been asked to get in contact with one of the big broadsheet papers here about seeing the senna movie!
Ooooohhh.... interesting
they do improve during the season but remember how bad car they had when they arrived in testing before 2009 season ... they were 2.5 seconds off the pace ...
it is likely but also they would not be the first not previously dominant or at least top team to drop from the top. there are many examples out there one can say Ferrari being the latest ...
not
oh the keyboard - the above sentence should have been "they would not be the first nor the last ..."
Can you bring a date? nudge-nudge wink-wink...
Hello everyone! :)
hi lou
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/92364
the whole new engine saga may come down to question who is more important to F1 - Ferrari or Renault. I am afraid if it comes to that there will always only be one winner ...
oh and a very Happy Birthday to Christine! :)
There's only one guy in the world who can sort this mess out...
http://reporter.blogs.com/.a/6a00d83451d69069e20120a74f571c970b-pi
I dont think ferrari can afford to leave F1, so i would back renault
Also the ferrari route effectivly closes the door to other car companies coming in, the renault one opens it up wider.
Mclaren would probably like to build there own engine so i would guess they would like a new formula to start on equal terms
Are you in Dubai? :)
true, but ... there is this thing about new Concorde and there will be new threats about breakaways if things do not go certain way. at the end F1 needs Ferrari and Ferrari needs F1 so they will come to some solution. If that solution is not to Renault liking I doubt anyone will beg them to stay
but for the record - I am all for the new engines, as long as they make them loud
you could just turn up your tv ;)
my problem with his quotes are, he says they've halved costs, on what? the current engines which have been the same(ish) since 2007? new engines are gonna be costly.
on TV I don't care, can't hear them anyway. but if go to race I need the sound to rip the seats off the grandstands :-)
no, I think they mean Renault as a company halved their cost of being in F1. they sold the team, they are now only an engine supplier
Defo.........quiet cars live can be very disappointing....ie watching the BTCC....great racing but lame noise.
Dont forget they were essentialy redesigning a lot of the engine each season untill they were equalised. Doing it once every 5 years, albeit on a bigger scale isnt too unreasonable.
I would much rather they spent the money on something more high tech like the new engines than the 32nd variation of front wing endplates
That is going to be the biggest problem, Renault approach this in a totally different way to Ferrari and Mercedes as their commitments to F1 are different. Also what they think is road car relevant differs as well, they all build different cars.
Or proper hybrid engines as opposed to the nonsense "green" get-out clause that is KERS
Would any of you be up letting Audi in if they could run diesel engines?
I'd say "come on in"
Only if they are there to supply the tractors which lift the stranded cars to saftey
ooh, would it give mcnish a fair crack at f1?
Then Peugeot might follow and Franck could come back.
He had a crack and failed! :-)
I'd love to see any of the VW group entering F1.....although I keep hearing rumblings that Porsche are going back to Le Mans racing
DRINK!
What F1 really needs is Tomas the Tank Enge
;)
toyota have a lot to answer for...
Don't get me started :)

Tomas the pothead :-)
He is not the only one who failed in Toyota car ...
Is Kamui the only guy came out of that car well?
Hehehee - much to Seabass' gain
Yes, because he got out quickly :-)
Pretty much, yeah - but what if he had been there longer? They did have some quality drivers at Toyota -- and Ralf.
Jarno didn't complain about the power steering.
TE always claimed he did not smoke, he was just in the room ...
Jarno complains about driving full stop....I glaze over when he's interviewed.
I like the fact that V8 supercars are racing in a hidden valley.
Must be a pain i you are a fan going to the race though
Yeah.....
:D
Rumours are flying of "Quick Nick" out and "Boomer Bruno" in at Renault. Interesting.
(By the way, I couldn't think of anything better than "Boomer Bruno". Sorry.)
...and Jennie Gow talks F1 in Montreal
http://jenniegow.co.uk/blog.htm
There is always the film characters surname :)
Yeah, but I was looking something that would rhyme-ish and vaguely mean something. Oh well
Where was stinky pinky for the weekend, has it been revealed?
Jennie did a great job, wouldnt mind her replacing lee :)
nice, although, she might be a bit confused about alonso's nationality. yay for holly too :)
short of money? not that "Quick Nick" has really grabbed the lifeline thrown to him...
Boullier has commented recently that Nick needs to up his game - and, realistically, he hasn't.
two points behind petrov in a car with a crazy-ass diffuser. is bruno going to do any better?
That'll be Jennie Gow that during FP3 said "I can't count the number of pieces Mark Webber's car is in - there are bits everywhere, it's probably four pieces."
Four being a very large number and difficult to count up to... :-)
Hehehe.
well, that's why I think money is involved. why not use bruno in the first place if they thought he was up to the job?
Bruno has ben doing the simulator work too, so maybe he might bring something else to it. Who knows? Hispania was hardly a great judge of talent last year.
If that isn't a Murrayism, nothing is.
so why not put him in for a friday session once or twice?
Speaking of which
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zl-oAsDCGNA
:)
His drifting ability past the barriers at Montreal was impressive, would have got a good score on Dirt 3 Gymkhana.
I'm afraid you'll have to ask Eric about that one. It's something that could be said to all the top teams - why isn't Bianchi in at Ferrari during FP1, Bird at Mercedes, Bottas at Williams?
not totally sure that what renault are looking for
;)
who, who and who?
:)
none of those teams have stated publicly that their driver isn't good enough.
Bianchi, Bird & Bottas sounds like a law firm.
Maybe so, but maybe Renault thought Heidfeld would deliver a lot more
Genius
i'm sure they did. silly not to push him along with a friday driver incentive.
silly pinapple.
I feel for the fruity master, I really do
I thought he would. Not sure that Bruno is up to it either, but they should give him a chance, it's up to him to make it count.
And you really think Renault are not going to put Bruno in that car for Brazil?
not sure from what runway did that Heidfeld Senna rumour take off. but there was article somewhere few days ago (autosport ?) kind of comparing the time line of Kubica's recovery and the need for Renault to know if he will or will not be able to race again. And the two were not exactly perfect match. They may not want to look for long term replacement for Kubica but they just don't know if one will be needed. So with Heidfeld not doing better that Petrov the team may want to see what Senna can do.
Looks like it'll happen before that though
Pretty solid analysis
sounds like Macau GP grid of very recent past. and when someone mentions Macau GP of recent past this image comes to mind - Macau 2005
Doesn't Matter. Bruno will be in that car at Brazil.
Whether Nick likes it or not.
;)
I think I saw this film
I like Bruno, no objections from me
the package that had my mailing address set to 'australia' found me :)
Wow
they may have just sent it to the billing address, but i prefer thinking that i'm just that big on the internet :D
:D
^^ how does one get into these Fan Forums ?? are there tickets ???
you have to email them with a question you'd like to ask, the people who ask the best questions will get invited.
Tweet James Allen - he organised a previous one
email is [email protected]
Nice one, thanks for the info, I can easily get to MTC for that... I think i prefer the second option... not sure if I want to tweet JA ... ;-)
... might need to think of a relevant question though... maybe "Do you think Adrian Newey should be banned for being giving RBR an unfair advantage?" isn't a very valid one...
What package is this?
new running jacket, hooray rain, now I'm not scared of you!
Is it Heikki?
As it is Christine's Birthday I better repost this image just in case http://www.flickr.com/photos/alexandronov/5622297500/in/photostream
:)

Still could have told him though.
In defence, I reckon Guti is probably aware of the fact that he isn't going to be used in F1 this quickly. So I suspect Peter felt he didn't need to be told about him not racing...
Maybe. He did say he was ready though.
Happy Birthday Christine!! :D
If he has an exam, he has an exam. Is it worth pulling someone out of school for a race, especially if they're not ready to the top level yet?
i still think he needs more time though.
That was very vague and can be interpreted many ways, I suspect the 'ready' was that he could replace Checo for that race. In my eyes though he isn't ready for F1.
Not saying he should have raced, but it certainly seemed like he didn't know what was going on at all. Which seems unfair. Perhaps I have that totally wrong.
is he seriously at school though, he's too old for high school and surely not that many up-and-coming racers have time to attend university?
Actually a few in the lower formulae still attend uni to some degree.
His website says he is: http://www.estebanracing.com/news.asp?id=394#12
Hi all,
Happy Birthday Christine!
Just thought i'd pop my head in quickly before bed
Hi Matt G
ah fair enough then.
I definitely agree with Christine though :)
yeah, happy birthday Mrs C!
I'm totally horrified that a biography of Eddie Jordan has overtaken Christine's book!! I have bought it so I'm sure that'll make all the difference :P
Heheh.
It's an odd thing really - a few drivers do various physics subjects, motor industry studies or various business degrees in uni while on the racing ladder
I know having a backup plan is always a good thing but it almost seems like admitting defeat before you've even got started.
That's always been my thought too, especially when a driver is doing something completely unconnected to their sport.
Motorsport studies or engineering I can kind of understand, but I always wonder the direction of drivers studying outside that sphere
:(
Pretty much just had to sideline the three Europeam F3 races now.
aw, tough luck :(
Sadly a lack of car with circuits in the middle of nowhere make getting there / somewhere to stay, etc... just too difficult.
Looking into lessons, but also thinking "how on Earth can I afford a car?"
I got a new Pirelli tyre yesterday. Yay for Pirelli. Although I hope it doesn't leave marbles everywhere.
if you just need one to get to a circuit for a weekend rental shouldn't be tooooo bad.
Not cheap but a lot cheaper than buying + insurance.
but will it give you delicious toffee?
For example, if I had a car and was going to Spa, I could stay in Liege and drive the 50 km to the circuit no problem.
I don't fancy a repeat of my Oulton Park expedition where I had to walk roadside along speeding traffic on bendy country roads for 4 miles.
That scared me silly.
Some are difficult in that you can hire if you've only had a license for a short time
to the time machine!
I tried that - ended up in the year 2020. Sadly, there were no hoverboards then either
I feel like I should hire a car one day, just because I never have
You need a life list :)
I have a small one in a txt file that I keep meaning to put on my blog to bring it back to life. One day!
Woooohoo!
i got an email to say that my domain is expiring in 90 days, I think I will get a new one when it does. I kind of want one thats just my name but someone already owns that and ain't using it, so I might add a dash :)
Never had one. My life is far too scatterbrain for any sort of planning
It's not planning, it's just stuff.
You need to see if amyontheinternet.com is free.
ooooooooh.
it is!
I am a bad influence :)
you can make me buy domains but you can't make me use them!
I can't make you, true. I can nag you though.
I feel like I need to start learning webby stuff so I can be more bloggy independant and make them look how I want to look.
Back when I last knew how to do codey stuff people still used frames on websites :)
Scarily, some people still do :)
oh my
speaking of 'people who hate bloggers', chefs need to be added to the list. I thought this was an excellent post http://www.thefoodpornographer.com/tfp-says/on-food-bloggers-and-restaurant-reviews/
Right folks,
I had best move along - I may be back at some stage this evening
:)
Great post. Many more industries still to come, I suppose.
I was shocked to read the link to the chef who was saying people shouldn't take photos of the food because without the right lighting it looks awful
I almost always take pictures of my food when I'm out, normally because i'm enjoying it and want to show the comments. I'm pretty sure no one has ever said 'oh my that looks horrible, I'd never go there' because of one of them :)
Happy Birthday btw Lady C :-)

Why does butter have it's own plate?
*shrugs*
an ipad is better use of table space any day.
Because it sticks to the table cloth if it doesn't have one.
Evening all
Oh. I guess I don't eat in that kind of place.
:)
I watched as a man at an adjoining table for four worked away for the entire meal on his laptop. It may have been acceptable conduct in a cafe but surely not at serious, sophisticated establishment.
i'm not surprised we don't.
Good evening
Happy Milky Bar day Christine
Very true :D
I don't get why he's so bothered... They're paying the same either way.
I get irate at Nick sometimes if he won't put his phone down and I get bored but I'm not that bad.
Are you likely to be eating at Sydney's fancy restaurants anytime soon?
i'm still boycotting it.
Chefs and Restaurateurs get a little snappy if their 'art' isn't being appreciated in the correct manner
That's just bad manners
:D
It's not me that needs telling!! :D

As well as overcharging they like to believe that people are taking time to fully appreciate their creativity and are part of the ambience. Just a bunch of control freaks in a permanent temper tantrum.
I'm not telling, I'm agreeing with you
I'm not there to chastise him :)
i don't see food as art. i see it as sustenance.
Most people do. And most people don't have loads of free time to just sit and eat so they read or check their phone or laptop
Exactly. Somewhere in that article he asks "why are you here?" It's like, to have my dinner....
Can't it be both?
I know not everyone feels the same way but there's slot of pleasure to be gained from well prepared food
not to me, i don't have time to admire a plate of food. maybe when i retire i guess it could be.
But in a restaurant such as the one from the article, the patrons aren't just looking for 'dinner'
i enjoy eating food... and browsing the web.
Not aesthetics, taste
Well clearly they are!!
err. no compute sorry. i eat food so that i don't die, i don't think i've ever eaten to appreciate the taste. but then i'm a busy person.
Yes but the motivation for people tends to be one or other. Either people are eating because it is eating time and they just want to get it done or they want to spend the whole evening eating arty food and more likely in many cases to be seen eating at an arty restaurant
:)
No, they are buying into a higher experience. Just dinner can be had from Burger King
There is a lot of that. I like good food but hate poncy establishments.
Wow
not really wow, is it?
You would be perfect in The Sims :)
Oh, he so would!
It is for me, honestly
I hate it when I go out for a meal that ends up being bland and uninteresting. When asked, I can usually describe it as 'just food' which sounds odd :D
erm?
Well if I had more money than sense I might go splash it around on tasty food. But tbh if I ever earned enough to afford it, I'd probably be spending half the evening on my laptop too....
Hunger meter drops, eat food, hunger meter rises. Simples.
fair enough. i eat out to be sociable. what i eat is mostly irrelevant. and taking pics for the comments is part of the fun. chefs be damned.
I'm jealous!! I'd be about 2 stone lighter if I never ate because things tasted nice.
That's fine, I'm the same. But when I eat out and it's not a 'grab and go' moment, I want it to be pleasurable. It doesn't have to cost the earth, you just have to avoid the chains in most cases
that's me!
I think they're stupid. Most people take pics to show people and basically promote the brand. More often than not it's "check out my tasty tasty dinner"
yay timo!
:D
Did you ever see the pics we took from the Seafood restaurant in Boston? We were such tourists. The waiter was good fun though and instead of notepads they all had PDAs
There's an app/social site similar to Instagram but just for pics of food!
Mr C: What about wine?
Do you drink that according to it's taste or just for it's relaxing effects?
Ping: http://mrschristine.com/2011/06/16/a-brand-new-book-and-written-by-me-too/
Still talking about that silly book, but indulge me, it's my birthday.
latter. i can only tell the difference based on colour not taste.
Did you ever get your reward for finishing it?
So plonk is as a Chateauneuf du Pape I guess. At least your way is cheaper
it's red, pink, or white to me :)
Last question. Do you consider your taste buds to be not particularly sensitive or just that you don't pay attention/haven't trained them [as it were]?
That sounds awful poncy to me.
...also, i prefer it from a box, because you can't tell how much you've drunk.
Not cake, no. We keep racking up things to celebrate. App, woo! Book, ace! Birthday, yay!
But we're talking to Joe tonight, which bumps our podcast to tomorrow and that bumps other things to the weekend, and so on.
At this rate, it'll have to be some kind of über-celebration.
I think we need to do a blind taste test :D
hahahahaha. i've never considered my taste buds.
You're weird ;)
Only insofar as you can tell the difference between sweet and savoury, and there's definitely one you prefer over the other ;)
Of course it does, it's French
mmmm pie.
Talking of Pies
Is the Kai meet-up in your diary? Wed 29th June
I understand you can't commit to it yet but be aware of when it is so you can choose
can probably do a heathrow meetup? what's the landing time?
It could probably do with a post.
Hello all, just popping in to say Happy Birthday to Christine.
Have a trailer for the new Muppet movie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUUcOmgYEhY
I'll check, evening I think
I was looking for one last week to put in the daily and I forgot to ask in the comments, but yes I agree :)
It will be, probably towards the end of next week
Fabulous.
T5 about 19:30
Tues 28th
i'll be there.
All the trailers for this have been superb, quite quirky

Oops sorry, you're not from the Apple Store
Hi
:)
Good evening, and happy birthday to Christine. Have a good 'un!
Hullo
Mum visited a few minutes ago and said she saw the Canadian GP, and completely unprompted* told me she disagreed with the Safety Car start and had watched an hour and a half of the red flag coverage before stepdad switched over. #convert!
(*may be down to me wearing a polo shirt with the F1 logo on it)
Also she loves Jake.
Don't all women? I swear it's the only reason that the wife watches F1!
:D
I was chatting about this today and how I disagreed with the SC start.
My colleagues point was 'what better way to clear standing water than 24 F1 cars'
Couldn't disagree but there should be a better method available
I have no objection to them running 5 laps behind the safety car to clear the water then having a grid start.
Possibly :)
Definitely not!!
You don't like Jakey Wakey?
Not my kind of thing no.
I suppose someone has to watch for EJ
:P
If you had to choose one for their looks, which of the drivers would you pick?
tremayne's love of hamilton is amped up to 11 in this weeks gp+
he says hamilton drives with "the heart of gilles" and then states that jenson: "took off his team-mate" in canada.
holy crap.
Alonso?
hey all
oh goodness me.
Hmm. I must get round to reading not scanning GP+
Hi Lou
Agreed.
That is a bit OTT
can i recommend you avoid all the lewis love-in. i feel a little queasy just skimming it.
Hi Lou
that... that's just not right.
He he, noted.
I mean every issue, not just this week's
I must get around to subscribing to it...
How is everyone this evening?
Has Christine had a good birthday? :)
It's very good and super quick. You'll have it before the evening, stateside
Like any other day really :)
But with more Milky Bars :D
Lou: Have you ever been to the London Camera Exchange?
Branches
http://www.lcegroup.co.uk/Branches.asp
noo?
I heard about them on Flickr
The difference between what I've heard they'll sell a D3100 for in person and eBay isn't huge. Wondered if you knew of them
never heard of them... my friend may have mentioned something like this before, could have been LCE but it doesn't immediately ring any bells. will take a look
It's another place for you to visit on the Strand after you've been to the Crumpler shop :D
Johnnie Walker/Diageo are doing a big promotion for Silverstone/Goodwood/Button thing

MotorSport have copied Bassano by posting a podcast about the Senna movie. I haven't heard it yet so I have no idea if it is any good or not but I know a lot of people are interested in the movie

Accidentally scratched an Audi r8 on the way out of the pub... Oops!
Was the owners fault though as he was spotting my car door. I've bought him a pint, he seems consoled by me showing him a clip of what Mcnish did to his...
Sidepodcast commenters: Coming up with good ideas, so you don't have to. Since 2007
Same night too
same audio? how odd.
tomorrow's daily is all done. Night guys.
What a co-incidence
Night Lukeh
a) if it was a night they organised, why did they give bassano permission to use it?
b) if it was a night they organised, why haven't they got perfect audio??
Their audio is not great at the best of time
c) Why did it take them so long to put it up?
Maybe they heard Bassano's and thought they could generate some traffic.
No, just they date they quoted which could've been earlier on in the evening
fair enough. very generous of them to give permission. awesome that you did what you did before them :)
Bassano. bringing you the podcast before the Motorsport press :D
I am the GP+ of podcasting ;)
The press officer said in his email they have been blown away by the fans and critics' response. It's clear that this is being done on a fairly meagre budget so all the publicity helps to generate buzz
:) :) :)
you have the power. use it wisely.
iPhone Podcasting I am
On that note, I will bid you goodnight
Till Crunchie time tomorrow
You are going to make a podcast for every race?
Night
Errrm riiiiight :)
"Thank Crunchie it's Friday!"
#NotHere
I see. I think I'm jealous of this M-F working pattern. I don't have that sensation on any day...
Goodnight :)
goodnight Bassano
You podcast in landscape mode?
