Hi, and welcome to Thursday.
Christine has found a neat little tool which searches Google Books and shows the popularity of it over time, and you can compare terms as well. There are some interesting comparisons showing how seemingly similar terms have become more or less popular over the years. Have a go yourself!
My car passed its MOT yesterday with flying colours, always good when that happens especially when it has done a fair few miles. I keep thinking I'll change it though. Anyone want to buy a 2002 Ford Focus? :)
Kai found out the Opportunity rover on Mars has sent back some images of a big crater. This rover was only supposed to last a few months but amazingly it has now been active for years! Sticking with space, RCC found a great archive of the Apollo missions.
Over in racing, this being the summer break there aren't many interesting racing news stories around, just the usual stuff from teams and drivers either saying this year isn't over yet and they have a chance to win, or instead saying they are giving up on 2011 and looking to do better next year. You don't even need to read them, instead try throwing a dart at the points standings and imagine what they are saying.. then click the headline and see if you were right.
Here is your guide to racing this weekend. I think someone forgot to tell the Americans to have a break!
- IndyCar - New Hampshire (first time since 1998!)
- NASCAR Cup - Watkins Glen
- GrandAm - Watkins Glen (with Mark Blundell)
- MotoGP - Brno
There was talk in yesterday's Daily about Channel 4's proposal for UK F1 coverage, which looks better than either BBC or Sky. That in turn led to ideas for how C4's usual shows (or indeed any others) might be themed in an F1 style - check them out and suggest yours here!
Finally, let's wish a happy birthday to Guille today and Chris tomorrow!
oops too many !!'s
fab daily pat. is there a challenge to pack the most info into a daily in the least words? 325 is a tough benchmark.
Cheers. People were saying some dailies were getting a bit long, and it was late so I wanted to do a shorter one for a change!
i do approve.
must dash though, things to finish before sleepstime.
I gotta sleep too, catch you all later
oh and the other thing was that I didn't have anything prepared or anything else to say, which helped :)
#sidepodspace.

fab daily pat. is there a challenge to pack the most info into a daily in the least words? 325 is a tough benchmark.
My answer is "Panton" It is the Latin word for "Everything".
Rafa is trying to do a Murray and lose a match he really should win. Nail biting.
Thanks Pat!
Great video. A simple experiment that is worth the thousand words needed to explain it in school :)
I booked my Hockenheim hotel :) Good thing is that if the date changes I can change the dates of the booking easily, its not one of those silly 'no changes, no refunds one'
I booked a twin room so first person to say they want to come too gets the other bed :D
How much was it?
Morning everyone
and how much are race tickets? Hopefully a bit lower than they used to be seeing as they can't fill the place any more?
They aren't on sale yet so if anyone has any recollection :)
I'd be interested in seeing a survey as to which GP's actually sell out this year. I believe Britain and Canada were the only full race day events so far this season.
I'm even amazed at that, given the cost
Gahhhh - the spam filter on Wordpress is not behaving today. 50 messages to clear in the last 40 minutes
>:(
How well do you know your Formula 1 history?
To learn about this and more events that helped shape Formula 1, get your copy of That'll be the Day: 365 F1 Stories (Part 2).
It's so cold today I've had to have a cup of tea!
I think I'm on my 5th cup already
I twitpicced the price list to Lou and then I linked it in the comments a few days ago, the link is out there somewhere :)
http://twitpic.com/5yqjpq
OK, make that 75 spam messages on Wordpress in the last hour and a bit - this is getting ridiculous. Have their spam detectors been switched off?
Thanks. 149-199 euros is acceptable, the rest.. aren't. Unless exchange rates change. :)
thank you :) I was iPadding so the effort involved to go find it was too much for me #solazy
Is it me or does that not make any sense at all? €149-199 is nice..... but where on the circuit..?
if a few people end up going we could do a Spa and get different tickets if we need to.
Oh and the hotel was $450 AUD for 4 nights, and its this one
http://www.intercityhotel.com/en/Mannheim/?source=USIC
you have to go to the actual website then click on each stand, then each section of each stand to find out which price each section is
I think you have to click around a bit on the actual site, I have to go and do something else now though..
Ahhh... that makes more sense.
Yep sounds like a plan
No probs ;)
At this moment I'm just curious ... because I want to go to NZ next Christmas, which isn't cheap either. Also if my family decide to go to Le Mans I'll do that instead because it's a lot cheaper!
if people want to look at the prices properly go to http://www.hockenheimring.net/f1-tickets then click Bestellen, then click Bestellen again next to the one that says "Wochenende" which is one of the few German words I actually know :D
I think I may be doing either Le Mans or Indy next year, but nowt confirmed yet
fair enough, I understand that mostpeople have other things they need to spend their money on other than F1 :)
Oh dear lord, Autosport must be utterly, utterly desperate for news
What sort of crack is JV smoking? Kimi won the most races that year!
I think it went something along the lines of:
Autosport: "Jacques, we something, anything... please..."
JV: "Hmmm... OK... how about this..?"
sidepodcast meetup in manchester? - http://www.autosport.com/news/grapevine.php/id/93715
not that i would be able to make it.. but people who can should cause then they can get photos for me ;)
plus if I had to ask who if anyone should've won that year instead of Kimi my brain would definitely not have gone "ooh, Massa"
That's kinda my point really. I'm not a big Kimi fan but he won the most races, so he deserved it anyway.
any chance you can make it to Melbourne in October? :D
if people wanna club together and give me a trip for my birthday then sure! ;)
when I think of people who should get a paddock pass my mind goes to you, I'd bump my two Pamela back-ups for you :D
hah! i think if i ever get into the paddock i'd have to record it too cause all i'll remember would be a blur.. like the pitlane in spa.. All i remember is Crofty saying 'hi lou!'
wait.. what's happening in Mebourne in october?
free flights to Korea that Pamelas bosses won't let her get on :(
Boooo....
Lou - are you coming up to the World Series races next week?
oh noooo!!! :( seriously?! :(
well the korean GP is on the weekend after my birthday.. but flying to melbourne so i can fly to Korea seems a bit... pricey ;)
shes asked two people and they've both said no because they need her to go to Queensland and she already has time off for Singapore :( We have our fingers crossed that they will change their minds!
is it at Brands or Silverstone?
Silverstone
but... has she explained how amazing the trip will be? :( hopefully they'll realise F1 is awesome and let Pamela go.
she said the dates they need to be in Qld for aren't confirmed so hopefully the week of the race is a week they don't need to be there :)
hm maybe.. it's really tricky for me to get to silverstone cause it's so far away and relies on mum driving me.. i'll look into it. have been heading to brands and lydenn hill recently to get some practice in
fingers crossed!!
Fairs
Good stuff
:)
hopefully! my back ups are a friend who isn't an f1 fan who i might kill if i spend that much time with, and an f1 fan i work with who is very nice but i'd feel weird going on a trip with. Neither are ideal!
we need more sidepodcasters in melbourne! and Pamela's work to be nice :)
have just realised how free it is.. will see if i can persuade mum..
I'm thinking of volunteering for next year's classic grand prix. Not sure how it works for first timers though!
I've been thinking of doing up a logo for the Archive. This ought to put me to sleep quite quickly.
Mum is easily persuaded. she said 'i don't see why we can't go'.. i'm not getting excited. so far we can plan things and then the day they happen it doesn't happen with us there :( but fingers crossed. May bump into you then Leigh.
Good stuff - best order the tickets soon just in case. They post them out, so sometimes they pull them in the week leading up to it.
I'll be there all Saturday anyhoo.
:)
awesome! have you been before. what day is better, saturday or sunday? mum's gonna ask my aunt to see if she'll be around to come along too.. that way mum has company while i run around taking photos.
Sunday can be better because there's more of a family crowd out, but in terms of action both days are equally as good to be honest.
Unfortunately I'm already busy on Sunday, otherwise I'd be there both days.
I must check to see if Ricciardo will be driving actually...
ohh good to know. It'll depend on what day my aunt is free i think, but hopefully we'll make an early road trip up there so i can get some snaps and things. :)
I looked at the timetable 'cos I'm tempted too (free is an attractive price! shame the diesel isn't..). Sunday looks better in terms of on track action and the timing of it.
Free is a rather lovely price. as mum put it. 'if it wasn't free i'd be paying diesel AND ticket prices', so even though it'll still cost a bit it's cheap in comparison to the price of the GP etc.
I managed to persuade my aunt to buy a kindle after one conversation, i'm hoping i can use this kinda persuasion to get them both to drive me to Silverstone. Never been to Silverstone before..
Mum's never been to a racetrack and she seems to be getting more into F1 and things, free could be a good excuse to go.
Weekend schedule
http://www.worldseriesbyrenault.fr/en/calendar/silverstone/Pages/Programme.aspx
I tried that web app on my iPad last night ... it's really good!
actually there's not as much difference as i'd originally thought
Well i know we wouldn't be able to get there until at least 10:30.. so it doesn't look like we'll miss much. and with 3 f1 runs we'll be bound to catch one.
however. i'm not getting my hopes up. i know my family and an initial 'yeah why not' can turn into a 'no, certainly not' in a week. :/
:(
At least the World Series pulls in a very nice crowd with their ticketing scheme - I think last year they said that around 50,000 turned up after 55,000 tickets went out.
Not bad.
Renault must invest a lot in that series. What do they get out of it?
Promo mainly. When you have that mainly people wandering around what are all essentially Renault bits and bobs all day, they must see some benefit.
They have lots of stalls and display things for their road cars too.
I see.
Afternoon :) nick has thrown me out the living room so he can make a conference call!
Heys,
I've just managed to spit my tea over myself after reading this made up twitter exchange between schumi and rubens
http://www.thef1slate.com/thread/110809
The rest of the site is funny too, all the drivers get it ripped out of them and the avatars are spot on!
Is he going to conference you in?
Idiots. Just idiots.
http://www.usatoday.com/sports/motor/2011-08-10-earnhardt-ganassi-employees-arrested-fired_n.htm
I always go to the Renault day on the Sunday...
As others have pointed out it is most defo the 'family' day out but it's no so rammed you're constantly tripping over people. It's a large enough crowd to generate some semblence of atmosphere.
Track action is supposed to be virtually identical but I've always found the Sunday the better day.
In other news I walked into Karum Chandok at Bicester North train station yesterday....I didn't realise it was him until 5 or so paces...the reason?...becuase muggins here walked slap bang into him at Goodwood and didn't twig it was him in his Lotus team shirt until I looked up!
In addition to the earlier news about BBC finishing Spooks, I gather that Torchwood's future may not be altogether bright either.
Hooray, our new company phone system now works properly. Something I arranged actually worked. :)
Heheehee... congrats Pat
:)
If it gives them time to make something else original that's fair enough. I do still want to watch all of Spooks..
It only took BT 3 and a half weeks to sort it out, so I'm fairly glad it is done. :)
That's quick for them.
They're spending £22m to buy in "The Voice" for two seasons. Another singing comp show that is specifically aligned to a single record company...
Well it was meant to take 3 days so I suppose that's not too bad.
Seems that's where the ratings are..
The real issue is in the second sentence
Heheheh, I was hooked by 'The Wire', a show about catching drug dealers using a phone wiretap. One of the actors playing a drug dealer in the show has been found dealing in drugs.. and was caught with a wiretap. :) :) :)
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-14474299
(odd thing is all the until nearly the end I thought she was a teenage boy)
Is it the same company doing every show? If not I don't really see the problem.
Essentially the winner will be signed to Universal Music and all songs performed on the show will be strictly Universal artists - while the BBC are allowed to do that, it goes against the spirit of the non-advertising rules.
There has been a lot of grumbling about it at work and at other companies in the last few weeks.
That's half of F1 isn't it?
That's never been on TV here but strangely enough you can buy the DVD's!
Apparently, yes.
Is this to placate the Strictly fans whilst a new series is whipped up?
If this TV show is called "The Voice", will they get John Farnham to sing the theme tune?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbkOZTSvrHs&feature=related
Oh I see. That's an advert then.. They probably couldn't get it made otherwise though.
Nope - it's there to try and rival X-Factor, which - surprise surprise - is run by Sony / Syco, which utilises only Sony artists and songs (if you see where this is going).
Colour pics from the 1950s - London should bring back trams all over town.
http://www.howtobearetronaut.com/2011/08/london-trams-c-1950s/
How different things looked..
Have I missed a post somewhere on why there is no Hungarian GP sidepodcast? I've been twiddling my thumbs waiting for ages now and quite frankly they're starting to feel numb.
You should get plasters for that.
in short, because we're busy. it'll get done when it gets done. promise we haven't downshifted or anything ;)
They haven't got a hope against the X-factor. The very demographic this type of show will be aimed at will be more then likely to stick with what they know...the Beeb version will be the 'posh' xfactor which kinda defeats the object of 'ordinary' winners....
I know that's a sweeping statement!
And with that, I finally might get my Hungarian GP post up tonight - it's been a long two weeks.
:o
I thought it was cos all the coverage nonsense has killed off the love for you...and knowing full well it was the ONLY topic that week....for some reason I thought of your schumi hiatus when he was touted to come back at the end of 2009 for a few races...too much negativity in F1 etc
The Voice has been huge in the US and they're basically hoping for the same here. I won't see, because when it comes on, I won't care.
I'm annoyed that this show is essentially being bought in for such huge sums, while home grown shows with decent ratings are being cut. Bare in mind, that £22m is only to license the show - none of that actually goes to make it...
totally with you on that one......I just know my OH will have it on in the background...
How she can go from watching some elitist BBC3 docu to 'Teen Mom' defies me...i don't get it!
quite the opposite. i've been moaning about the BBC's coverage for the past 18 months. i really don't think it was the right channel for f1. whether we can afford to watch on Sky is another matter, but i'm very happy with f1 right now.
we have a lot of stuff to do, and despite our best efforts, there aren't enough days in the week, so debrief has to bear the brunt of that at the moment. it'll get done before spa i'm sure.
I thought you loved the beeb (if not EJ).....my mistake.
What you think of C4's submission?
I'm disappointed at the lack of response here, come on people :)
http://sidepodcast.com/post/the-best-f1-shows-never-to-be-broadcast/
they got better, but they used to be dreadful: http://sidepodcast.com/post/why-humphrey-should-dumpty-bbc-f1
would've liked to see what they could do. but they don't have a HD solution, so it would've been a backward step/
Mine were lame..
Lee McKenzie's all star crash
I thought they've would've just broadcast on Channel 4 HD....was there no HD stuff mentioned in the pack then?
oh, do they have a c4hd? our tv goes: bbc, itv, bbc?
I believe so. Think it's been out for a bout a year
Yep
According to wiki:
Gawd yeah! There's C4 HD, More4 HD, E4 HD!!!
ahh, but not freeview. so the same problem sky has then.
hold on, why haven't we got this then?
On 25 March 2010 Channel 4 HD appeared on Freeview channel 52 with a placeholding caption, ahead of a commercial launch on 30 March 2010, coinciding with the commercial launch of Freeview HD
We do.
We do, we just don't watch anything on Channel 4 :)
LOVE IT!
The lady always speaks sense....
Mr C...my OH has the ability to cut me in half just as easily!
wow!
in that case the channel 4 deal would've been much better for us than sky.
shoot.
There you go. Quick, get Bernie on the phone...
;)
Inside Natures Giants was awesome in HD....I think that was C4
I think the only things I tend to see on C4 HD is hollyoaks when my OH is watching it..
hehe. we don't have time to watch telly - we own one for the f1. same as sky - no use for it bar f1 content which makes it a very expensive solution.
That's not true. I watch tons of TV, just not when it's actually on. I quite like iPlayer on the big screen.
do you watch it when i'm asleep? the last non-f1 tv that was worth watching was glastonbury.
Well, I say tons. I watch a little bit of iPlayer on the big screen, and the rest of my stuff on the iPad.
I still think we should never have got the TV :)
if i'd known f1 would move... we probably wouldn't have.
I win!
Ditto....we rarely watch scheduled programming...
I was thinking that next year could be a blessing in disguise...
Plug your PC/laptop into yr plasma tv and get all the information you need up on the one screen! I've done it before and on my 42 inch screen I had
Main BBC feed
Live commenting
Live timing
Driver tracker
JA Tweets
Onboard feed
It's kinda info overload but saves looking across lots of differing monitors, screens etc
okay, seeing as you're so smart...
dear oracle, should be buy sky tv?
C4 has always been a bit underrated, I do like it.. Lots of rubbish on it too though, like anything I suppose
Ha. I've always said no, but you keep telling me we have months to decide.
I like a few current things, but I very much like their on demand archives. Lots of series' of lots of comedies. Mmm, Black Books. :)
Still haven't ever seen this actually.
Okay let me tell you what I get from my Sky package..until march this year this is the package I had with Sky and BT
Sky - basic channels, no HD or Sky+ (ability to record) - £26
Broadband (via sky) - Medium package (10mb/s) from Sky @ £10
Phone - BT Light user - £14
Total £50
I now pay £51 after placing everything with Sky and for that I get
Sky - Basic channels, HD, and Sky+
Broadband (via sky) - Unlimited usage (20mb/s)
Phone (via sky) - same as BT light user..
Basically for the sake of £1 extra pound a month I gained Sky HD, and Sky + becuase I moved everything over into sky...if you can move your phone line to them it does make a difference.
I get all the channels except sports and movies....would I pay for them seperately? Unlikely...I'm kinda thinking paying upwards of £75 a month to Sky is excessive
Green Wing....their greatest creation
I need to find the time to explore 4OD definitely. Have seen S1 of Black Books and should get on to S2 soon :)
Black Books is awesome - saw Dylan Moran live too and he's very funny.
Don't C4 have the IT Crowd too?
Yes.....and they once had something called Brasseye
I think the tv complaints division would melt down if that was shown now!
Worth it
One of the greatest shows of all time
They did. The Daily Mail went on all out attack against Chris Morris at the time.
They don't need punishment....they need GUN-ISHMENT!!
Oh really...I thought they'd of gotten a few but thought even 10 yrs ago we were a lot more open minded in programming and less PC
Aye - the show even made headline news on TV following one of the episodes
http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2001/aug/05/news.film
Right, I had better head for home. See you in a bit folks
:)
I am going to become an uncle
Aww, congrats
Afternoon all
Ta :) My cousin's, she's one of the youngest in 'our' generation yet was the first to start a family, so whilst I'm really happy a tiny part of me feels a bit old :)
That'd make he/she a second cousin rather than a niece or nephew
Text from dad said uncle? I thought second cousin was a US thing
We were gavin this a couple of weeks ago in the comments.
They use 2nd or 'twice removed' according to Kai
I thought you meant your sister was having a kid. No matter, happy news regardless :D
Enjoy a little something from the Sidepodcast back catalogue.

Wait a sec, if the two of you are first cousins than that makes the relationship between you and her kid 1st cousin once removed right?
2nd cousins describe the relationships between the offspring of true cousins is how I understand it.
You are not really old until you have hit Great something or another status, sadly it says something about the times we live in when you can hit the Great status and not yet be 50!
Hey, is mr. C around ?
Not at the moment.

Are w doing Thursday Thoughts this week?
Er, are you going to use the idea that I sent you via E-mail?
Sorry I've not checked email yet, just back home, gimme a mo
Was doing some stats but it seems that one guy without twitter may let us down so I may yet take you up on idea
I would have loved to have helped you out Jackie but I have only placed the weather data on 4 of the 24 charts I need to! Plus I do not think you know how to factor things like the chances of smog, haze, and humidity for Montreal and the various cities in the southwestern parts of the U.S. that F1 have visited....
Evening all.
Has it been an exciting day on sidepodcast?
For Chrisitne's sake, I hope she is not having as "exciting" a time as Saltire over at VivaF1.... Saltire can use help with coming up with an idea for a blog due in a couple of days....
Is she looking for something special or just a subject in general?
I found a program buried away on 4OD about the Apollo moon missions. I am only 20 minutes in but it looks like it has a lot of good stuff in it especially for anyone wanting to learn about people going to the moon.
First thing I have learned is the astronauts who died in the test that was retrospectively named Apollo 1 actually had Apollo 1 patches on their suits because they were scheduled to be the Apollo 1 crew.
http://www.channel4.com/programmes/in-the-shadow-of-the-moon/4od/player/2932205
Oh I have something it's just that I now seem to have two posts to d instead of just one
Perfect
#mfc
Apple was briefly the most valuable company in the world. It looks like it will only be a short time before it takes the position for a longer time
http://evertiq.com/news/20208
Hey, Jackie: I have 13 charts of weather data to copy over if you want to do analysis of weather between the Canadian Grand Prix and having a southwestern state U.S. grand prix the week following or after.
I admit to being hopeless with the Fahrenheit temperature scale, other than once it hits triple digits it is insanly hot. and that is just the still air temperatures. No Humidity or Hazx
Oh, yes, trace amount of snow means that there is patches of snow on the ground, which also could mena that there is ice patches on the ground as well, as the snow melted and refroze during ht enight. Ice is an awesome thing to have in the braking zones right?.
If I can have it to play around next week that would be great, I'm trying to write these blog posts tonight as I may have to head home to Scotland at the weekend, my Dad's in hospital
Jordan does your blog use html code and can I do a picture?
evening guys. I say hello with a long football related PING
http://w.wso.li/nOBMnF
Hi Lukeh
Predictioning is always good
jackie 11/08/2011 at 21:02:11
Jordan does your blog use html code and can I do a picture?
Yes, it uses html code and I do remeber editing a picture of a Jordan 198 and changing it so that has more of an Irish Green colour instead of that awful yellow.
Send the stuff over to my gmail account and I will play around with the formatting.
Just have to to 1983, 1984, 1989, 1990, 1991 and done.
Evening
I come bearing no football related pings though
We will let you off this time
:)
Evening Mav
Hey, I could have pretended that following police advice, they've been postponed
:D
Oh hang on, a football related ping: http://www.vivaf1.com/blog/?p=7913
Sent you a message on Viva, can you check that this is ok please
I'm also pondering blog swap topics
I'm knee deep in the Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient - this is what you get into when you agree to think of something for Making Up The Numbers
That's probably nothing to do with David Pearson.
The post I'm writing for you isn't about the weather so if you want to go ahead and post it yourself that's fine
I have one but I'm too tired to write, so I'm editing my Classic GP pics
it suggests a correlation of only 0.02 of that being the case
This is probably a good time to put up a game reminder - http://toomuchracing.com/2011/08/09/tmr-game-2011-week-29/
:)
Done.
tenuous link given my dislike of picking NASCAR drivers :-)
They're too random!
I don't want to pick for NASCAR as the gap to Mav will just get bigger again and I want to win
not that she's competitive or anything
Jordan, can you open word docs
it's an addictive game and more fun when there is a gap that's not too huge to overcome
Most weeks yes but I don't think so this week
You two have had a great battle this year
oddly, we're sneaking up the table in the process :-D
You ain't making me change my picks. NASCAR is random and Sebastian will back me up on that ;)
I suppose both being competitive you are trying quite hard to score big :)
Sean won't! Road course though, some definite favourites there. Of course they could get punted out.
Jordan, can you open word docs...
Yes, Directly up to 2003 ( I have office 2003) but after that I have to play with Open Office. first
Ta, sent you the post
Not quite. It is a very reasoned argument as to why you should not have a southwestern U.S. Grand Prix with a Canadian Grand Prix back to back. Of course, weather is a big part of it, but I have also included the distance between the two cities.
You are the one that's a blog post short and I am now done the hard part of finding all the stats. Stringing the stats together should not be too hard? If you want it, I can dump it over there.
Really, what can possibllity go wrong? :P
think I'd be doing all my predictions on a friday night if i was taking it really seriously, but I do check the weather
Thank you I'll take you up on the offer and will try and write it up for @duskyblogF1 tomorrow
They always do!
or at least, my picks always do
Uh-oh, Jordan had disappeared after getting my post... is it that bad?
Maybe he had his mind blown by the awesomeness
Haha :-)
I could call my writing style many things but awesome isn't one of them
It is exciting that Stitch has posted the first of the weekends swaps ... best get the bit.ly bundle fired up
But would Jordan?
Only if he's deluded like JV
That was a stupid comment by JV. I guess he said it in Brazil to get the locals onside and didn't expect it to get out
Maybe he should just sing those kinda comments and we might just ignore them
But would Jordan?
Only if he's deluded like JV
First of all, I keep trying to tell you guys that there are two people named Jacques Villeneuve, both F1 drivers. And yes, you have to deluded to drive for RAM!
second, I am working on Jacquies post. one of the links is a little iffy at the moment.
third, I am trying to make Jackie the author or her own post
fourth, I am hoping that jackie can edit her own post.
LOL good luck with that, I got an email asking if I wanted to set up a wordpress account, I thought I was already registered
which link?
second, I am working on Jacquies post. one of the links is a little iffy at the moment.
which link?
The last. It just takes a while to load up, that's all.
I know about uncle Jacques. I also know that some people who knew him and Gilles in the junior formula thought he had more talent than Gilles as if that is possible.
Ah, I think it's a pdf, you can ignore the links if you like
I don't know how to, you can just post it with a paragraph if that's easier
Are the camera peeps here Nikon or Canon?
Dario's got Nikon stickers this week:

Gilles still famously spent Canadian qualifying trying to give Jacques an aerodynamic tow to get his times down. Now where was that love in the Schumacher family?
I'm looking at getting a DSLR. I have no idea which one but I have two mates who have Canon Rebel T1i's with 18-55mm and 18-210mm lenses. Very envious!
just put up a new widget on the sidepodcast homepage: http://sidepodcast.posterous.com/a-new-widget-for-the-sidepodcast-homepage
looks best in the latest browsers.
Looks nice
am just about to fire up IE. i'm betting it's less nice on there :)
Okay. Jackie's post is up and running. at
http://jdkallen.wordpress.com/

I would if I could but I can't bit.ly seems to have a floating fish saying the server has a problem
Baby fail whale?
A bit like a bloated puffer fish https://bitly.com/data/create_bundle
I forgot about the bitly fish
Would the problem be with me or bit.ly, it's been a long time since I have used the program
bit.ly i have the same here when bundling.
At least I'm not being silly. Are there any other similar sites that can bundle links?
have tweeted, they're usually pretty good at responding.
d'oh I should have done that :-(
Oh and I went for a run earlier: http://runkeeper.com/user/RubberGoat/activity/47240831
Had Mrs. Goat waving at me encouragingly when I ran past my house :D
Has anyone seen what the originator of Twitpic has launched?
http://heello.com/
How do you say it? hell-oooo? Heeee-llo?
I prefer the easiest version myself - Twi-tter. Coz that's just what it appears to be.
oooh, you should try that live streaming as you do it. christine was hooked watching the other day.
ha. twitter integrated pics this week. which just screwed twitpic's business model. i guess they had no other ideas.
He-low. Which is either someone mishearing Pelaw, or a posh guy saying hello.
Live streaming? You wanna hear me huff, puff and swear at people?
They took our idea, so let's take theres! And make it exactly the same!
But whiter!!
nooo. we watch your pin move.
It tells you how to pronounce it
Oh you mean like Live timing? Will you get to see my revs and gear shifts too? ;)
It's just twitter innit?
How is that different to Bassano putting up a blind?
I am kind of amazed by the fact it is exactly the same.
:D
Hehehe.
i think so :)
Not necessarily, how come Wii is pronounced Weee personally I think it should be wy eye
paul Gascoyne was devastated by the marketing opportunity he could've had
It says on the page - pronounced he - low
Wy eye? I feel like I should be agreeing with something with that.
I agree it should be wy eye man, it's a geordie games console
They can't fool me. There are definitely two e's in there
bah humbug, they have no sense of fun
Maybe you pronounce the first part like half of heehee
I can see this conversation going all weird, don't think their great marketing plan was to focus on pronunciation over content
A sidepodcast conversation going weird? That must be a first
I'll bet it was just to get people talking about it. At least it wasn't one of those annoying names where it ends in -er and they drop the e.
Silly Buggrs.
More likely just to get the domain.
why not? that's a great marketing plan if the content isn't that amazing
There isn't any content
so it's actually pronounced "hello? anyone there?"
:)
:D
peddlr?
Goodbye seems more appropriate for how quickly I forgot about it
Pedro de la Rosa has his own social network?
In the style of heello I shall bid you all good evening, oooooh revwar
:)
:)
ooooh revwar
:) night night
heello does sound like it was made up by Officer Crabtree now you mention it
just had a random search return while trying to find a video: F1 Rewind #1
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x4k3vy_f1-rewind-1_sport
I forgot how professional those shows were. Only problem was it crashed my video driver and the picture and sound were miles out of sync
blimey, old school!
http://sidepodcast.com/post/formula-one-video-f1-rewind
No problem with that one. Sync is perfect
