F1 is back!! Yes that's right it's Sunday and Formula 1 has woken from its 3 week slumber ready to provide us with an afternoon of racing. However this is the daily thread and there are other things to discuss too, such as typography, pandas or why incognito browsers are so useful. If you don’t fancy chatting about typography or pandas here are a few other things that might be of interest;

  • Christine has set herself an epic challenge of visiting a location within the uk for ever letter of the alphabet. The first adventure of which can be found here. I wonder where she will go next?
  • Formula 1 isn't the only racing going on today, the le mans series is back again, this time at Spa. Despite watching many races I still don't fully understand sports car racing, however both Franck and Ant Davidson are involved which surely means it should make for some awesome viewing. I’m sure there will be plenty to discuss, I’ll be trying to keep an eye on our beloved 5live commentator’s position and no doubt Christine will be watching for news on Franck’s progress too. Is anyone else supporting a particular driver or team?
  • It's Sunday, as you might have guessed, which can mean only one thing, last night was Dr Who night!! If you’re a fan of the charming Doctor, or just fancy catching up with his latest adventure there are two blogs you really can’t afford to miss. Christine and Lukeh have once again written about their thoughts on this week’s episode.

That’s about it from me today, there is no Giggles radio on today, but we’ve got a whole day of racing to keep us occupied instead! Whether or not you choose to watch the race, or opt to spend your Sunday doing something else (like learning about typography!), I hope you have a lovely day!

There is still ski-ing in Scotland. For 20 years the season has been getting shorter and is now normally 8 weeks. They expect to be ski-ing into June. Insane

There is a UFO thing on Channel 4. It seems a bit more sensible than most of these programs. THey are investigating odd sightings by WWII bomber crews. They are now looking at Nazi weapons research facilities carved into the Sudaten mountains. One of the things they were researching was anti-gravity. I wonder if this is what Burkhard Heim was working on

Anderson’s need for absolute design control and his lack of understanding was the singular reason for US F1’s demise

Anderson’s need for absolute design control and his lack of understanding was the singular reason for US F1’s demise

    it gets worse:

Anderson appointed his son Jason as the design director, in effect making Ken Anderson the team principal and its chief designer. Jason Anderson, who came from the Dale Earnhardt Inc. team and had no F1 experience, kept the chassis design in his computer system throughout the early design stages and did not share it with the other engineers.

    wow!

On a side note, had a right pallaver trying to swap a gas bottle for the BBQ today. Basically I went to three Shell Garages and the process went like this:

    1) Take Money

    2) Fetch Gas Bottle

    3) Inform that they don't have any, will not offer to fill or other wise help. Advise to go to next Shell Station

    4) Refund Money with a scowl.

We almost gave up and then we went to a rival firm called 'OK' who had the same brand of bottles. SUCCESS!!! They sawpped it for us and I fired up the BBQ. Sausages and Home-made burgers all round!

  • me09/05/2010 at 00:10

This isn't knew. It came out a month ago. Jason changed the chassis design without consulting anyone or telling them afterwards

  • lou09/05/2010 at 00:12

    Good idea

i got myself into a huge panic a few weeks ago that a university would never like me so i sat down with mum and we discussed what i would do with my gap year if i had to take one... it calmed me down considerably, i do not like the unknown (on that scale)

Sounds very plausible. At least ART know how to run a team, but what would happen to all that IP? Surely Toyota wouldn't agree to let them call the team 'ART Toyota F1' ... or would they do what Renault and Genii did?

It sometimes help to get someone else to look at something like this as it is a lot easier to think it through if it is not your life that it affects

that is very true. We talked Em through her gap year earlier and came up with ideas that she hadn't thought of..

Ah, upon a third read Joe says: The latest word is that the remnants of the team will be employed next year to update the current chassis (rather more scientifically than Howett did) and will enter F1 in 2011

Not a drop of rain on any session but a lot of rain last night so the track was totally green this morning. They are predicting rain for the race

  • lou09/05/2010 at 00:20

f1.com says it's going to rain...and red bull and i think either mclaren or mercedes told crofty or someone on twitter it's going to rain in the second half of the race. they can't all be wrong ;)

    Very time efficient :D

    anyone up yet?

  • Leigh O'Gorman09/05/2010 at 07:12

Hmmm... the race line-up did look a bit too packed and it might be backfiring.

    @adamcooperf1

Cold and grey morning in Barcelona. F/BMW starts at 0830 - the crazy result of GP3 and Bernie squeezing too many support races in...

  • Alianora La Canta09/05/2010 at 07:14

    Is anyone else supporting a particular driver or team? {lou - original entry}

Yes I am - come on #95 AF Corse (Giancarlo Fisichella and Jean Alesi in the same car :) ). Look out for them coming back from the middle of the GT2 field in the likely event of rain.

  • Alianora La Canta09/05/2010 at 07:36

    it gets worse:

Anderson appointed his son Jason as the design director, in effect making Ken Anderson the team principal and its chief designer. Jason Anderson, who came from the Dale Earnhardt Inc. team and had no F1 experience, kept the chassis design in his computer system throughout the early design stages and did not share it with the other engineers.

    wow!

That would make a fascinating case study for the Learning Organisation module on my university course (which mostly seemed to be about organisations that stopped themselves from learning to do things better) - how exactly was USF1 meant to get a complete design with effectively only one completely inexperienced designer? If that were possible, thousands of bored schoolchildren and university students would already be F1 designers...

  • Alianora La Canta09/05/2010 at 07:39

This isn't knew. It came out a month ago. Jason changed the chassis design without consulting anyone or telling them afterwards

    not on record? {Comment #99}

F1 Racing had most of this information in it last month, but not the bit about the designer refusing to share the design work.

  • Alianora La Canta09/05/2010 at 07:41

    yeah that's the one. could todt get away with awarding his son an f1 slot though? {Comment #103}

If ART was the best candidate, yes. Especially if a sub-committee took the decision rather than Jean personally.

  • Leigh O'Gorman09/05/2010 at 07:57

If ART was the best candidate, yes. Especially if a sub-committee took the decision rather than Jean personally.

In all fairness, ART have proven themselves a quality team over the last few years - they've got a record unlike Anderson.

  • Leigh O'Gorman09/05/2010 at 08:36

Anyone know why GP2 has retained the old FIA points system? I thought everything had changed to the new points layout

  • Alianora La Canta09/05/2010 at 09:29

The start of the LMS race could be chaos. All the cars on the grid have slicks and it started to rain about 7 minutes ago...

  • Alianora La Canta09/05/2010 at 09:36

Sure enough, two of the Audis have collided (one crashed, one punctured) and one of the ORECA Matmuts has spun. The Racing Box #29 car has gone off at Radillion and it looks like there will be a course car.

Slick tyres + Rain = Bad Idea

  • Alianora La Canta09/05/2010 at 09:39

Franck news: he's leading the LMS race, which is currently under full-course yellows.

  • Alianora La Canta09/05/2010 at 09:53

You're on slick tyres on a wet track. The Safety Car's just gone into the pits but because the pits are so long you're half a lap away from the line. What do you do?

    a) Wait patiently for the start line

    b) Try to get your tyres the correct temperature

    or

    c) Try to pass someone, skip a chicane (and thus succeed in passing 3 people) then hit someone else while attempting to pass them side-by-side at Eau Rouge?

Apparently, if your name is Jean-Christophe Boullion, you pick c)...

  • RubberGoat09/05/2010 at 09:54

    c) Try to pass someone, skip a chicane (and thus succeed in passing 3 people) then hit someone else while attempting to pass them side-by-side at Eau Rouge?

Bloody hell! That's how Stefan Bellof met his end!

  • Alianora La Canta09/05/2010 at 09:57

    Bloody hell! That's how Stefan Bellof met his end! {}

I have no idea how they got away with it - at the moment Boullion's car doesn't even appear to be damaged (though it's lost places hand over fist because crashing isn't quick). The commentators are justifiably furious.

  • RubberGoat09/05/2010 at 09:58

    By the way everyone,

Three of the first four races have produced 1-2 finishes; however these 1-2 finishes have all been different teams!!

Will we see that trend continue today or will it finally be broken?

    For the record...

    * Bahrain (Round 1); Alonso / Massa (Ferrari)

    * Malaysia (Round 3); Vettel / Webber (Red Bull)

    * China (Round 4); Button / Hamilton (McLaren)

I would advise against it if you have lasted this long without it ;)

    TK 61 seconds behind Pagenaud

  • Steven Roy09/05/2010 at 15:20

    1st Pagenaud

    2nd TK/Mcnish car

    3rd Franck

    4th Gene/ANt

    5th Rockenfeller

  • RubberGoat09/05/2010 at 15:21

Half a lap in it. After 6 hours!

  • Steven Roy09/05/2010 at 15:23

Live timing is better than F1. Franck has done 71% of the driving in his car

  • Steven Roy09/05/2010 at 15:26

Sarrazin took 7 seconds out of TK in one sector ??

  • RubberGoat09/05/2010 at 15:26

    Traffic.

    F1 boys, watch and learn!

  • Steven Roy09/05/2010 at 15:30

Nice to see Ant's reaction there. The camera were looking at him in the pit and he just waved them away because he wanted to watch the race. More people whould do that

  • Steven Roy09/05/2010 at 15:35

Wonder what penalty Pagenaud will get

  • Steven Roy09/05/2010 at 15:35

Franck could end up winning this despite finishing second

  • Alianora La Canta09/05/2010 at 15:37

  • Alianora La Canta09/05/2010 at 15:38

    eh? {Coimment #233}

Pagenaud overtook large quantities of backmarkers under yellow cars late in the race. There wasn't time to levy a penalty before the flag, but they can certainly do a post-race penalty for it.

  • Steven Roy09/05/2010 at 15:38

    eh?

Pagenaud, the leader on two laps passed slower cars under yellows

This after Peugeot protested Audi for some reason?

  • Steven Roy09/05/2010 at 15:41

I don't understand Audi's tactics. Capello did most laps in that car and McNish did the least. Who would choose to do that?

Apart from whoever actually decided to do that at Audi, probably nobody!

  • Steven Roy09/05/2010 at 15:43

Those two are always protesting something. I wonder if the McNish/TK car could get second if Pagenauad gets whatever penalty is applied. That may just be enough for Audi to protest if no penalty is applied without a protest

Think of it as an extreme version of the McLaren/Ferrari rivalry with a less biased and less predictable stewarding panel.

  • Steven Roy09/05/2010 at 15:45

If the stewards don't penalise Pagenaud Audi may protest in the hope of getting their car promoted from P3 to P2 if the penalty(whatever it is) is severe enough to do that

I wonder how the Citroen rally management feels today. Ogier wasn't supposed to be at this rally but because he took a penalty to allow Loeb to finish ahead of him at an earlier rally. Today he finsihed 15 seconds ahead of Loeb.

I've long since stopped relying on the seemingly biased predictions that crop up on the internet and tend to rely on Windguru these days. At least it doesn't have a vested interest in a F1 track being wet!

  • Alianora La Canta09/05/2010 at 16:37

    #fantasyracers

LCM Alfa had a poor race, getting 270 points. It is very thankful to Massa and Kubica, who obtained nearly all of those points. As for Senna...

LCM Barato had its best round all year and still had the second-worst LCM score. Senna is again partly responsible, but the management was also disappointed in the lack of robustness in Chandhok's car. Trulli, Kobayashi and the Virgins at least finished the race, hence why the race was not a total disaster.

LCM Caro had its worst score all year. Maybe reducing the squad to two drivers was a mistake... ...especially when one of them (Vettel) had technical issues.

LCM Dragons also mailed in its worst race of the season. Replacing Sutil with Petrov may not have been the wisest move.

LCM Fire Lizards rewarded support and loyalty by giving the best result of the LCM teams and also its best result of the season. Even a slightly lacklustre race from Liuzzi and Hamilton's last-lap smash could not destroy the strong performances across the board, only slightly dent them.

Looks like a little piece of carbon. I wonder if he picked up a bit of the carbon that was lying on the track. When I saw it live I thought that little piece was from his suspension failin but it is clearly the tyre that fails

  • Steven Roy09/05/2010 at 16:47

Alonso. The Ferrari F duct is blocked by a pad on the back of the driver's left glove. Alonso was seen to be doing that and changing the brake balance with his right hand at the same time just before a braking area. He was also seen controlling oversteer while he had a hand blocking the duct

sssssshhh don't pretend you wouldn't ask either :P

I am just amazed it took so long. It's like when someone sets you up for a punchline. You have to go for it. It's the law

  • Alison09/05/2010 at 20:14

    Hiiiii :)

  • lou09/05/2010 at 20:15

  • Steven Roy09/05/2010 at 20:15

    Hiiiii :)

  • lou09/05/2010 at 20:15

    Hiiiii :)

    hello!

  • Alison09/05/2010 at 20:16

    Good timing.

    Why? That's worrying....

  • Steven Roy09/05/2010 at 20:16

    Good timing.

Lukeh just had his call with Ari

I'm recovering on what he said... he said he'd keep in contact because he really loved the video I made for his campaign and made a promise to meet the person who's video he loved in Monaco to have lunch and watch the grand prix... sadly it's a bit short notice for this year but he's promised to keep in contact and make sure it happens in 2011 O.O

  • Pat W09/05/2010 at 20:16

    Hiiiii :)

    Hello

  • Alison09/05/2010 at 20:17

Lukeh just had his call with Ari

  • lou09/05/2010 at 20:23

has lukeh passed out? he's gone very quiet....

  • Lukeh09/05/2010 at 20:24

has lukeh passed out? he's gone very quiet....

am back to doing uni work :) whilst shaking and wondering if that just happened.

We talked about quite a lot actually... tis interesting how much Max's 'iron grip' limited his election campaign...

  • Alison09/05/2010 at 20:26

If you tell someone you have a present for them and they fall asleep without looking at it, does that mean you can keep it?

  • Jon Waldock09/05/2010 at 20:27

If you tell someone you have a present for them and they fall asleep without looking at it, does that mean you can keep it?

Did you actually give it to them before they fell asleep?

  • lou09/05/2010 at 20:28

am back to doing uni work :) whilst shaking and wondering if that just happened.

hehehe you're back to doing uni work?? i'd be celebrating :P

  • Jon Waldock09/05/2010 at 20:28

has lukeh passed out? he's gone very quiet....

never has this website been more accurate

  • RubberGoat09/05/2010 at 20:28

According to Midweek Motorsport, only 57 tickets were sold at Superleague at Silverstone.

    WOW. The rest were free/media/team

How does that series stay solvent when A1GP went under?

  • Alison09/05/2010 at 20:28

Did you actually give it to them before they fell asleep?

No but I said I was going to and I didn't have a chance because they went to bed....

  • Jon Waldock09/05/2010 at 20:29

No but I said I was going to and I didn't have a chance because they went to bed....

That dosen't count then no :D

  • Alison09/05/2010 at 20:29

That dosen't count then no :D

    WHY??????

  • Jon Waldock09/05/2010 at 20:30

How does that series stay solvent when A1GP went under?

Unless your name is Bernie there isn't a huge amount of money that comes in through ticket sales.

  • Jon Waldock09/05/2010 at 20:31

    WHY??????

    Ok lets try this;

Alison, I have a present for you. It's the most amazing thing ever.

However, you have to come and get it before you fall asleep though, so book a coach now and on the way down you must stay awake.

    The present is this

If you fall asleep before you get here then they're mine

  • Jon Waldock09/05/2010 at 20:32

Unless your name is Bernie there isn't a huge amount of money that comes in through ticket sales.

Not that bernie gets any money from ticket sales

  • Steven Roy09/05/2010 at 20:32

That dosen't count then no :D

    WHY??????

Is it OK for Nick to tell you that you can't go to Aus even though you haven't bought the ticket yet?

  • RubberGoat09/05/2010 at 20:32

How does that series stay solvent when A1GP went under?

Unless your name is Bernie there isn't a huge amount of money that comes in through ticket sales.

But FootballChampCars aren't a Bernie or FIA series?

  • Alison09/05/2010 at 20:32

If you fall asleep before you get here then they're mine

I could completely make it. I have tomorrow off. You must know I don't sleep....

  • Alison09/05/2010 at 20:34

I think if you'd rather sleep than have the present, you obviously didn't want it enough and I'd enjoy it much more....

  • Pat W09/05/2010 at 20:34

How does that series stay solvent when A1GP went under?

    Better financing...for now

  • Jon Waldock09/05/2010 at 20:34

I could completely make it. I have tomorrow off. You must know I don't sleep....

True, but I don't reckon you could travel for 7-8 hours, get here at 5am and still be awake and not have fallen asleep

  • Jon Waldock09/05/2010 at 20:35

    Better financing...for now

Exactly, A1GP was around for longer than superleague has been for one and secondly the whole thing seems alot better organised and has better backing from football teams

  • RubberGoat09/05/2010 at 20:35

How does that series stay solvent when A1GP went under?

    Better financing...for now

How does it make money? SonAngol are a small fish, Eurosport won't pay much for TV, they aren't selling tickets and the franchises are given away for free...

  • Alison09/05/2010 at 20:35

True, but I don't reckon you could travel for 7-8 hours, get here at 5am and still be awake and not have fallen asleep

    5am? That's easy! I say I skip a nights sleep on a fortnightly basis.

  • Jon Waldock09/05/2010 at 20:36

    5am? That's easy! I say I skip a nights sleep on a fortnightly basis.

hmm, not sure i've thought this through

  • Alison09/05/2010 at 20:37

hmm, not sure i've thought this through

The question you should be asking yourself is where you're gonna find ducklings by 5am

  • Pat W09/05/2010 at 20:37

How does it make money? SonAngol are a small fish, Eurosport won't pay much for TV, they aren't selling tickets and the franchises are given away for free...

I don't know, and I don't know where they are getting their prize fund from. Can it all be from them? I don't expect the clubs are putting in anything, they would've needed convincing to get on board.

  • Jon Waldock09/05/2010 at 20:37

I know for a fact SonAngol don't have that kind of money as a sponsor, and that's all that I can say here.

  • Alison09/05/2010 at 20:42

    and a small cat

You can ship that to Nick

Maybe there's government involvement to help them, but I don't know enough of who is involved in running the series

  • Jon Waldock09/05/2010 at 20:48

    You're mean

If you're with him, fine, I'm just not sure I trust him with a cat that i can fit in the palm of my hand

    Yup, almost certainly.

Did you buy him a cat?

  • Alison09/05/2010 at 20:58

Did you buy him a cat?

    No. I hate cats.

  • Jon Waldock09/05/2010 at 20:59

    No. I hate cats.

So who is the present that you want for?

  • lou09/05/2010 at 21:02

    No. I hate cats.

  • Alison09/05/2010 at 21:04

Did you buy him something made of chocolate because it may be off by the tome he gets it and he could get food poisoning so you are helping him by eating his present

  • Steven Roy09/05/2010 at 22:13

You need a way to call him in an emergency so you can bug him when he is sleeping

Get someone to wire his smoke alarm to a sim card. That can't be difficult. One 3 second call and he will be instantly awake

  • RubberGoat09/05/2010 at 22:15

Get someone to wire his smoke alarm to a sim card. That can't be difficult. One 3 second call and he will be instantly awake

    Or dying of smoke inhalation

  • me09/05/2010 at 22:15

still flagging up the error sadly.

odd, i don't see anything else wrong. are you using workbench or handcoding queries?

  • Jon Waldock09/05/2010 at 22:15

Get someone to wire his smoke alarm to a sim card. That can't be difficult. One 3 second call and he will be instantly awake

    Or dying of smoke inhalation

oh wait, you said smoke alarm.

    not smoke.

    my bad

  • Steven Roy09/05/2010 at 22:15

    Or dying of smoke inhalation

    THere won't be any smoke

  • Steven Roy09/05/2010 at 22:17

    Here's another view of the F10-duct: http://img8.im...andductayelgbarna.jpg

That looks really odd. Looks like it is pointing straight at the driver. How odd?

  • Lukeh09/05/2010 at 22:18

odd, i don't see anything else wrong. are you using workbench or handcoding queries?

handcoding it. It's supposed to be a basic query to make the database display the newest users based on their IDs

    $queryString = "WHERE activate='1' ORDER BY id ASC";

    $queryMsg = "Displaying Senior to Newest Members as default based on account ID.";

but it doesn't like it at all. Bah!

  • Steven Roy09/05/2010 at 22:18

oh wait, you said smoke alarm.

smoke alarm not smoke bomb. Although that would work as well

  • me09/05/2010 at 22:19

$queryString = "WHERE activate='1' ORDER BY id ASC"

that can't be the whole query though can it? you're missing the:

    SELECT * FROM...

  • Alison09/05/2010 at 22:19

smoke alarm not smoke bomb. Although that would work as well

This is not such an amazing idea. Why am I reminded of a weird scenario involving a knife and a dog...?

  • Lukeh09/05/2010 at 22:20

that can't be the whole query though can it? you're missing the:

ops, it's not. I have this later on in the code:

    $sql = mysql_query("SELECT id, firstname, surname, city, country, FROM members $queryString");

  • Steven Roy09/05/2010 at 22:20

This is not such an amazing idea. Why am I reminded of a weird scenario involving a knife and a dog...?

I thought you would like the sim card/smoke alarm option.

  • Lukeh09/05/2010 at 22:21

Ohhh I think I've just realised... I'm not getting the activate field...

  • me09/05/2010 at 22:21

    $sql = mysql_query("SELECT id, firstname, surname, city, country, FROM members $queryString");

ahh, the final comma after country should not be there.

  • Alison09/05/2010 at 22:21

I thought you would like the sim card/smoke alarm option.

That is true. I would maybe have to do it myself though. I don't trust his friends not to set it off when I'm asleep.

  • Lukeh09/05/2010 at 22:21

ahh, the final comma after country should not be there.

    oops maybe that too :)

  • me09/05/2010 at 22:22

    oops maybe that too :)

you don't need to select the activate field, that bit is fine. the comma is the syntax error.

  • Steven Roy09/05/2010 at 22:23

That is true. I would maybe have to do it myself though. I don't trust his friends not to set it off when I'm asleep.

All you do is when you are there slide the sim card out

  • Lukeh09/05/2010 at 22:23

you don't need to select the activate field, that bit is fine. the comma is the syntax error.

    ooh, ok then.

    G'night RG and Gavin :)

  • Jon Waldock09/05/2010 at 22:26

    Night RG and Gavin

So i've emailed a certain Mr Lord twice now and got no response ala work experience, do I go once more? I don't want to seem buggy, I've got the press office email address too so could try that with an FAO just in case his email is different from when he worked their last (which i dont think it is, but you never know).

Thoughts? or ideas of other places I could try?

  • Steven Roy09/05/2010 at 22:29

Thoughts? or ideas of other places I could try?

Keep bugging people. Remember the Mike Gascoyne saying that he ignores the first two applications he gets to see if people are genuinely serious.

What kind of position/experience/training are you looking for?

  • Jon Waldock09/05/2010 at 22:29

What kind of position/experience/training are you looking for?

Media-y or involved in championship running stuff

  • Alison09/05/2010 at 22:30

If someone wrote to me three times about a job, I'd consider writing to them and ask them to leave me alone....

  • me09/05/2010 at 22:30

Media-y or involved in championship running stuff

can you get to london, daily?

  • Jon Waldock09/05/2010 at 22:31

can you get to london, daily?

I can do yeah, it would get very expensive so would have to do less time that i would want but yeah. Ideas?

  • me09/05/2010 at 22:32

I can do yeah, it would get very expensive so would have to do less time that i would want but yeah. Ideas?

couldn't hurt to give usp content a call. i've no idea if they do that kind of thing, but you can email and then tweet jason / croftie?

  • Steven Roy09/05/2010 at 22:32

Media-y or involved in championship running stuff

Try organising clubs, Palmer runs a couple of championships, 4 circuits plus his former air base track with corporate, driver training etc.

  • Steven Roy09/05/2010 at 22:33

If someone wrote to me three times about a job, I'd consider writing to them and ask them to leave me alone....

Better getting a sod off letter than no response.

Try organising clubs, Palmer runs a couple of championships, 4 circuits plus his former air base track with corporate, driver training etc.

They're on my list too, some/most are taken off beacuse of distance. I've got a car but 1.5 hour is my very very limit in terms of a car commute

  • Jon Waldock09/05/2010 at 22:33

Better getting a sod off letter than no response.

I'd rather that than no response! I just want to know if he's ignoring it, or if he hasnt recieved it.

  • Alison09/05/2010 at 22:34

Better getting a sod off letter than no response.

People who are pushy never get a job here. I just imagine them to be too annoying to work with.

you'd have to stay in a hotel for the week, you can't drive into oxford street every day.

I have had that with students on summer jobs and with cheapskate companies who employed people with no experience whatsoever because they were cheaper. Meant I could do nothing but stopping them creating a major accident

sadly not... the only thing i remember about Christine and Ted was that Christine was mainly updating a website, and ted mainly chatting to mr c.

that is true, but with the benefit of hindsight i'll be more wrong than usual.

But you have not made any newer ones recently so they will sound better if there is nothing immediate to compare them with. If you don't make any more podcasts the archives will never get wronger

i don't understand a word of it, but this video makes mclaren's suspension look interesting: http://www.you...m/watch?v=ZKFyxRh6L_w

He is talking about torsion bars but I can't see anything that looks like a torsion bar in that suspension but there are no coil springs on the main two dampers so I guess those skinny things on the outside act like torsin bars although they don't look like it

You can see how long it took Lukeh from telling us he had spoken to Ari to telling us what he said. He got a little excited

Another one explaining the F duct from the same people. Much easier to understand because of all the blue bits.
