It's Friday night/Saturday morning and that must mean it is my turn to write the daily again. I am so loving the variety we're getting with multiple daily authors, thanks must go once again to our fabulous volunteers. If you want to have a go but don't fancy a regular stint, just let me know and you can take over this Saturday as a one-off, if you so desire. Anyway, on to fun things:
- The above picture is courtesy of Lou who designed us a fabulous piece of art, just because. It's so amazing, encompassing everything that Sidepodcast is about, and we're so grateful for it. It was supposed to be handed over at the London meetup that we didn't attend due to general F1 anger issues, but we're pretty sure that would have cheered us up.
- F1 is back in action, with Free Practice Friday under our belts and some more practice and qualifying sessions still to come. So far, the track action itself hasn't been incredible, but it's been fun looking at the motorhomes again, and feeling the general enthusiasm from the paddock now that we are back in Europe.
- There's a great post from Joe about secret goings on at the Toyota team - not only their future plans but also a potential send off for John Howett. I'm a big fan of Mr Howett as he spent a lot of time on Sidepodcast TV discussing the upcoming races. It looks like he might have crashed an F1 car. Oops.

One of the problems with the space shuttle is that there is no way to get the crew cabin away from everything else if there is a problem during the launch. All the conventional roccket stack vehicles that existed before it had launch abort systems. The shuttle replacement which has supposedly been cancelled except for the Mars mission has had the first test of its launch abort system and it was perfect. On top of the capsule there is a tower with 3 or 4 directional rockets that can lift the capsule from the rocket and take it a mile or two away from the scene of the accident. Video of the test at

JB used to park his mobile home next to DC's and JV's. If you were stuck in the pits with nowhere to sleep the best place in an emergency is the driver's room in the motor home. So you could sleep in Jenson's room because he only needs it during the day.

It's a baby rocket. The explosive bolts between the capsule and the main rocket get blown and the abort system lifts it away then the abort system and the blast shield on top of the capsule are jettisoned and it parachutes safely to the ground

I mentioned that I'd found reasonable flight and he said something about deadlines and work. The dates are no good apparently. This is confusing to me. He wants to go in July. I'd have to leave by 30th June but I can split my trip in Dubai for a week for free so I don't see the difference but apparently it's no good....
I think you just need to get him to tell you what dates work for him then try to get a flight. No point in you constantly trying to do stuff just for him to dismiss it.

Yeah, if you download the latest version. It scans your hard disk or checks your itunes library. I'm mixing tracks from my own list with tracks they have available. Just as a collection for now, not in any order.
Actually I'm testing this too, by playing one of your shows :) I've stacked them up until I found the time to note down what tracks I want and how to get hold of them, and this means I don't have to do that, if they have it I can just add it to a playlist.
And it links with Facebook so you can share things.

i was watching 24hour party people recently, which is a film about the days of factory records and the hacienda days in manchester, and tony wilson. since then i've been downloading tracks from joy division and new order, and looking into other bands around that time.
I'm just about getting over not buying CDs. I haven't quite got into buying MP3s yet, I don't know if I'll skip that step. I'm not very good at remembering music.

I have been at the jazz bar. I am a little jealous of my friends though because the tram stop is at the end of their street. They are probably already in bed. After I get this tram I then have to get another one and could have to wait another 30 min if I don't time it right. i really need to socialise in my own neighbourhood more. Or get over my hatred of taxis.

You're doing better than my local buses. I sometimes wait for an hour for one of those. Considering that they're half hourly, this is confusing for me....
I don't normally bother aiming for a specific time, I just show up and get on the next one that arrives. It's not a big deal during the day but the streets and the public transport itself feels so dangerous at night. A train would have been quicker than this but I refuse to use them alone after about 10pm, they are so much more crime ridden than trams

Rosberg has a couple of races to warm to this new update, and I reckon he'd ask for the old one back just on his side. I love the Wii, it's a fantastic machine in the vast amount of interest it's gained from so many different types of people but I can emphasise with their feelings. When you have alternative consoles in the same generation being far more powerful and doing more, you can see why they feel like that.
Of course, the PS3/Xbox focus far different in terms of audiences they're targetting to that of the Wii so there's no real reason to complain about it anyways. What the Wii does it does fabulously :)
For me it's the first time I can seriously consider owning two consoles - a Wii and an Xbox/PS3 (as they don't really do the same thing)
