Good day to you, it’s Gavin again, introducing you to Wednesday yet again. But it's not just any old Wednesday today, oh no - this is the Wednesday before a fantastic weekend of Sport, with Le Mans, F1 and the World Cup all happening, there's something for everyone...

  • With Le Mans Free Practice and Qualifying starting tomorrow, here's a gallery of Scrutineering pics from Speedhunters. Mulsanne's Corner reports that it was a non-event, but it's a great way for fans to see the cars and drivers up close. What do you think of the BMW Art Car?
  • There's been a bit of F1 news too. Results from round 7 of the SofaF1 Championship have been posted, Joe Saward has been talking about a proposed Russian round of F1 at Sochi (where the Winter Olympics will be held), and finally James Allen has been discussing Jean Todt's initiative to link F1 drivers to safer roads.
  • In another interview, Jean Todt was quoted as saying "...the strong man is not he who speaks the loudest". Quite a refreshing change, don't you think?
  • Christine and Mr. C. have posted Mark Webber's lap of Montreal on the Red Bull Simulator, which is powered by rFactor Pro. Always worth watching - Cheers guys :D
  • David Croft from BBC Radio 5 Live announced who will be replacing Anthony Davidson in the commentary box this weekend (as Ant will be driving a Peugeot 908 at Le Mans). He announced it via his Twitter account, which Pat W summarised for us in the comments. Looks like a cool lineup!
  • McLaren have admitted to a communication breakdown at the Turkish Grand Prix, which led to Jenson overtaking Lewis. So are we 'drawing a line' under this issue too then?
  • Apparently Valentino Rossi's leg is healing quite nicely. Good to hear, get well soon Vale, we miss you...
  • I have been listening to a podcast called Guardian Football Weekly for a while now - and they have started a series called 'World Cup Daily'. Essential listening for the upcoming football festival I reckon.
  • Finally, here's a couple of oddball videos for you. First, a classic Abbott & Costello Sketch about why 13 multiplied by 7 is 28, and a great video from Improv Everywhere where a bunch of people just freeze on the spot in Grand Central Station, New York. Brilliant Stuff!

Well that's all from me - plenty of links to keep you happy, so see you in the comments :)

Just saw that ladies' response from Joe's site - it's not actually on the page, but it came in my "follow-up comments" e-mail.

    Interesting indeed.

(now i'm definitely off to bed)

    :)

Return airfares from melbourne to london for $217. That is cheaper than i can get to nz! Gosh air asia is amazing. If only the dates matched some sort of reason that I had to be in europe for.

to charge that kind of prices is easy, to sustain the business for long term while charging such prices is a different matter ...

  • Amy09/06/2010 at 04:02

It doesn't build loyalty in me because I certainly wouldn't fly with them if they weren't having an amazing sale but I won't complain if they have a sale that matches my holiday plans :D

  • RubberGoat09/06/2010 at 08:17

Ooh is there Le Mans stuff happening today?

Today is important because the practice sessions have replaced the Le Mans test day.

Also, you have to see night qualifying, it's Five Pints of Awesome...

  • RubberGoat09/06/2010 at 08:18

    Gavin,

Is that French time or UK?

    Well I assume French?

Will finish it over lunch and email you? Is it better to have it for practice or qualifying?

    Morning guys

  • Pat W09/06/2010 at 08:45

Nothing on lemans.org other than a French audio feed and a webcam, usually.

Will need Justin.tv of Speed or Eurosport, pref. while listening to RLM

  • Christine09/06/2010 at 08:45

Will finish it over lunch and email you? Is it better to have it for practice or qualifying?

    Luverly!

As far as I know, we want it for qualifying, but presumably it can go up when it's ready to allow for any other comments as well?

  • Christine09/06/2010 at 08:46

I think last year was all about Justin.tv for video, and RLM to listen to the fabulous Hindhaugh gradually lose his voice.

  • Lukeh09/06/2010 at 09:06

Very suspcisious I say. No mention of it for years and years then it appears in the comments recently and it's suddenly brought back ;)

Jetstar said today it would start offering direct Melbourne-Singapore daily flights from December 16, kicking off at a limited, discounted $99 one-way special fare.

heheh I am not watching Rogers New Wife as most of the rest of the field is kind of boring, and I'm not watching Queens because Rogers not there :D I shall watch the final of both though, perhaps the semis since they should be on during the weekend.

he plays with this random swiss man who isn't very good, they just play every now and then because they are friends. It's super odd.

He played with his wife once, back when she still played and he was still ponytailed. It's cuuute. She's rubbish though

    Sounds really good, Pat :)

    Thanks.

I wrote an opening para, a note on qualifying, a table of session times, then put in your Peugeot and Audi bios. Sounds simple enough, is actually 5000 words..

To save space I've just got 3 lines on each of the other classes (not each car, each class - we can put the others as comments or use as reference material).

So last night I was pruning and got it a bit shorter.

I'll still fill the gaps in the bio list tonight if I can though, so we have something to refer to at the weekend.

  • Christine09/06/2010 at 10:56

Did we know that the "vodcast" was made by USP?

    i shoulda guessed.

Also now has a subscribe button. http://www.cas...rankings.com/vodcast/

damn them, now it almost makes sense. still a stupid name.

    Who or what is USP?

5live f1 commentary, chequered flag podcast, talent company for the likes of croftie and samos.

  • RubberGoat09/06/2010 at 11:57

    i shoulda guessed.

    Who or what is USP?

Pretty much if you want to make a podcast and need to outsource it, these guys will do it for you. They also do the F1 coverage for 5 Live...

  • Pat W09/06/2010 at 11:57

damn them, now it almost makes sense.

Why? Just because USP made it?

  • me09/06/2010 at 11:59

Why? Just because USP made it?

christ no. it's still crap whoever made it.

it makes sense that it's a subscription feed offering syndicated content. so "odcast" now makes sense, over "just a youtube video".

thinking about it, the castrol video really is the same show as this from 2008, only with some rankings tagged on the end:

You never said anything about it being offered for download, "subscription" can mean anything.

podcast suggests you download it to your ipod. pod comes from ipod, and cast is the syndicated subscription feed bit of it. none of which castrol had yesterday. twas just an embedded video on a webpage.

    i kinda said that here, didn't i?

  • me09/06/2010 at 13:27

actually no. if you mean, when you click a shortened link, it doesn't go anywhere, that's likely because of the way it was copied. am working to improve that.

playing on wet grass would ruin the court.. but the main reason is wet surfaces.. especially wet grass can lead to many injuries and things. i'm sure when Amy reads this in the morning she'll correct me if i'm wrong, but i think it's mainly because it can get so dangerous.

you could end up slipping over and getting a serious injury or something.. you know what tennis players are like always having bad knees and stuff ;) would be awful for them to slip over and end up damaging their career or something..

and how many times do footballers fall over and get carried off the pitch?.. ;)

have you ever tried to play tennis with a heavy wet tennis ball?.. wet tennis ball + wet grass court = very low bounces and many broken tennis strings.

When tennis balls get wet they don't bounce.

It snowed and then it was so hot the sun melted the snow.

  • Leigh O'Gorman09/06/2010 at 15:41

    a blizzard?

    Bingo (of sorts)!!

  • Pat W09/06/2010 at 15:41

Source of fire alarm found... water in the sensor.

If you put a fire out with water, that means it would stay on?

  • Journeyer09/06/2010 at 15:42

Are Red Bull and Ferrari determined to stop us having a silly season or something?

I guess the Schumi-Merc thing could still change, but unless Ross decides to rejoin Ferrari (yes, it's a rumour going round), it won't change.

This also guarantees that Kubica will stay at Renault. And with Petrov doing a solid job on track (racing) and off (financially), he'll probably get renewed too.

We may see some fun and games at Force India with Liuzzi and di Resta, but other than that, this will probably be the quietest Silly Season since 2002 (where of the major teams, the only change was Alonso replacing Button at Renault).

    Bingo (of sorts)!!

    in April?

  • Pat W09/06/2010 at 15:44

Hi to the people I missed.

I'm subtly getting my desk cleared slightly early so in 10 mins I get out the door, straight home to watch LM :)

  • Leigh O'Gorman09/06/2010 at 15:45

    Bingo (of sorts)!!

The 1973 International Trophy at Silverstone in April 1973 started in absolute blazing sunshine, when in the closing laps a snowstorm appeared from nowhere covering the circuit. Regardless of the conditions, the race continued with Jackie Stewart taking the win in his Tyrrell some laps later.

Once the race finished, the nice and sunny (albeit cool) conditions returned...

"...the latter stages of the 1973 International Trophy at Silverstone were severely disrupted by a snow storm. Nowt too unusual in that... well, if you're British anyway. Hell, it was only the end of April after all!

Anyway, upon returning to the paddock, I was somewhat taken aback by the sight of the BRM mechanics having a snowball fight - and using the damaged nose cone from Vern Schuppan's P160 as a trampoline!!"

  • Leigh O'Gorman09/06/2010 at 15:55

    From SHOUTY website:

Mercedes team boss Ross Brawn has told the German car maker to think 'long and hard' before considering supplying engines to another outfit.

Brawn, however, believes Mercedes is already supplying engines to as many teams as it can, and he reckons it would be a mistake to add another one

    Wouldn't that earn some cash?

Let the new engine be thoroughly tested, don't forget Ron's in charge. It probably cleans up after itself after blowing an oil seal

McLaren will build their own engine. Ross being Ross will not want any remotely competitive team having the same engine. He will be quite happy for HRT and the like to contribute a few quix but to stay out of the road. I can't imagine Schumacher is happy with the current situation either. He is used to being undisputed number on and now he and Nico are fighting to be number three

you're not going to die on a wet court, surely?

    I would pay good money to see you try and play tennis on a wet grass court. {Comment #191}

My performance would probably be just as terrible on a wet grass court as a dry one because my service rallies would typically be one ball long, followed by about 10 minutes of attempting to track down where the ball had gone.

    Sorry, I was being facetious

Don't mention a season start when Mclaren didn't start at #1 or #2

McLaren are playing catch up and they know it [but are nearly there]

Maybe something about drivers input towards mid-season development

    Feedback, input, etc

  • Scott Woodwiss09/06/2010 at 20:39

Maybe something about drivers input towards mid-season development

    Feedback, input, etc

    Hmm, ok:

"How would you compare McLaren's work rate in developing the cars compared to the rest of the grid?"

  • Marilene Riddle09/06/2010 at 20:40

Tag-Heuer: What feature do you consider most important in a Tag-Heuer time piece?

McLaren: There has been some brushes between team mates on the racing track recently. What is your opinion on how McLaren copes with driver equality?

Racing: Is speed the key reason to why you love racing? If so, what do you think of your hero Alain Prost's 95% rule?

Other: You have gained quite the reputation for making good tyre and overall strategy calls. Would you consider becoming a race engineer after your F1 driving career is over?

  • lou09/06/2010 at 20:41

Don't mention a season start when Mclaren didn't start at #1 or #2

McLaren are playing catch up and they know it [but are nearly there]

and... don't ask Jenson what he would do if he was Lewis... he's Jenson and probably doesn't really mind that Lewis had a worse start to the season than he did :)

  • Lukeh09/06/2010 at 20:42

and... don't ask Jenson what he would do if he was Lewis... he's Jenson and probably doesn't really mind that Lewis had a worse start to the season than he did :)

    I agree.

    Should probably ask about Rubens.

  • Bassano09/06/2010 at 20:43

"How would you compare McLaren's work rate in developing the cars compared to the rest of the grid?"

Include the driver [they are the corporate representative]

How would you compare the style* of Jenson's vs Lewis' feedback to aid development and the technical engineer/driver relationship?

    [something like that]

    *less critical, technically, more individual

  • Bassano09/06/2010 at 20:44

Tag-Heuer: What feature do you consider most important in a Tag-Heuer time piece?

    Cool-ness

    Let them race

    How about the other two?

  • Bassano09/06/2010 at 20:50

So, I didn't just register for Cupidtino at all, oh no, not me

  • Bassano09/06/2010 at 20:50

    How about the other two?

    Err

  • Bassano09/06/2010 at 20:52

    How about the other two?

    95% rule?

Race Engineer: Don't mention 'when it's over'

[for a driver: "it'll never happen]

    Team owner/leader maybe

  • Marilene Riddle09/06/2010 at 20:56

    95% rule?

Alain says he'll only drive at 95%, never at full speed unless required. He'll go around at the slowest speed possible and still win if he could.

    Team owner/leader maybe

But team owners don't nearly have as much impact on the team directly so his skill won't be used. Team principal sounds good though.

  • Bassano09/06/2010 at 20:57

Alain says he'll only drive at 95%, never at full speed unless required. He'll go around at the slowest speed possible and still win if he could.

Yeah, I get that, but he was boring to watch

Too much precision, though that is to be admired

    Team principal sounds good though.

    Owner/Principle?

  • Bassano09/06/2010 at 21:00

Is it a bad time to mention the meet-up on July the 1st, pre-Goodwood?

  • Marilene Riddle09/06/2010 at 21:00

Yeah, I get that, but he was boring to watch

Too much precision, though that is to be admired

Yeah, but Jenson says Alain is his idol. So does he really like the thrill of speeding on the track? Or does he like outsmarting the rest and winning more?

  • Marilene Riddle09/06/2010 at 21:01

    Owner/Principle?

Will be the best option, though I suspect he won't nearly have enough cash.

  • Bassano09/06/2010 at 21:05

Yeah, but Jenson says Alain is his idol. So does he really like the thrill of speeding on the track? Or does he like outsmarting the rest and winning more?

I like watching Jenson when he has work to do on the track, he pulls nice, clean moves

Maybe scrappy & manic vs smouth & thoughtful overtaking. Debate?

  • Bassano09/06/2010 at 21:05

Will be the best option, though I suspect he won't nearly have enough cash.

    Sponsors pay the bills

  • Bassano09/06/2010 at 21:09

    @SniffPetrol:

Dear trees, My car makes the CO2 that helps you to breath. And how do you repay it? By LEAKING SAP onto the paintwork again. You b******s.

  • Marilene Riddle09/06/2010 at 21:09

    Sponsors pay the bills

Brawn (despite their 'ultimate' pairing, world championship, and lovely livery) did not last. (I refuse to associate it with the M-thing)

  • Scott Woodwiss09/06/2010 at 21:14

Based on the debate, I've come up with:

"Do you prefer to win races on raw speed and pace or by precision, tactics and strategy?"

  • Marilene Riddle09/06/2010 at 21:16

"Do you prefer to win races on raw speed and pace or by precision, tactics and strategy?"

:D Do you want to be a Kimi or a Schumi Alain Prost?

actually that was a really bad comparison.

I think i'm just not used to them. The idea of having to have my foot on the brake for the ignition to start is foreign to me. When I take my foot off the accelerator and don't slow down it scares me. According to the RACV an idp is required by belgium and france. Not in the uk though :D

  • RubberGoat09/06/2010 at 22:34

I'm quite surprised I've not got a shotgun yet

    potential overplanning

Not bothered which car I am in BTW...

  • Bassano09/06/2010 at 22:35

I'm quite surprised I've not got a shotgun yet

    She's claimed that aaaages ago

The rest of em are too indecisive

Yet we may be over-subscribed, go figure

  • Jon Waldock09/06/2010 at 22:35

I liked having an auto in town when I did 'office hours'

I like to drive more when I have the freedom of shiftwork and a manual

I can't imagine having an automatic, I love my manual so much, i love holding the gear just a tad too long going round a corner, and getting a downshift just right, i feel in control too, i cant imagine not changing gear. 2 hands on the wheel all the time? pah :P

  • Steven Roy09/06/2010 at 22:36

I think i'm just not used to them. The idea of having to have my foot on the brake for the ignition to start is foreign to me.

I had an auto for three years and didn't need to do that.

When I take my foot off the accelerator and don't slow down it scares me.

    That still happens

Sit in Knightsbridge traffic for half an hour.

    It has its upsides

[a girlfriend who drives auto only can also be influential]

It's handy in a city but absolutely garbage in snow or ice

Also handy when 3 weeks after you end up with one you bork your ankle and it at least means that you can still drive

(LPG misses the mitsu :-( )

  • Alianora La Canta09/06/2010 at 22:39

    Evening everybody. I am commenting from my hospital bed. For those of you not on Twitter I have an eye infection and have been admitted to Stoke Mandeville hospital for Intensive treatment. {Comment #322}

That's a pity. Hope the treatment goes well and you can go home soon.

You want to do UK [once we get out of Saahf London] and I'll take over in France?

  • Amy09/06/2010 at 22:39

I am so pleased not to be at home now, it is cold enough in melbourne without snow!

  • RubberGoat09/06/2010 at 22:39

    Good night guys!

    Jon,

I see Wayne Boyd got a drive for somthing called Sino Vision Racing from the last round of the F3 championship

    http://www.britishf3international.com/drivers.php

  • Jon Waldock09/06/2010 at 22:40

    You will.

I hope not, I likes my manual

ahhh so thats why i kept getting lots of press releases, i always delete them :D

I've never heard of the team

  • Bassano09/06/2010 at 22:40

yeah i guess so, traffic does suck with ti but i dont mind too much

    You will.

Drive to work at the same location after a decade and a half, your left foot wants a break for a while

  • Steven Roy09/06/2010 at 22:41

I hope not, I likes my manual

So do but after years of being stuck in traffic I decided that I had to try to see if I could live with one. I couldn't

  • Amy09/06/2010 at 22:41

I used to drive my flatmates auto and I had to do that in her car. Before we make any plans it might be worth seeing what insurance would cost. If its anything like here it will be too expensive since i'm under 25

  • Bassano09/06/2010 at 22:41

    Good night guys!

New to me to. They have a website http://sv-racing.net/ It doesn't seem to mention their new driver though

I wasn't going to lock you into a pit stop strategy but I can enquire :)

  • Steven Roy09/06/2010 at 22:44

Not a Saab by any chance. They tend to make you do odd things like put the car in reverse before you can take out the ignition key in

I tried left foot braking today, scared the living day lights out of me, its amazing how rubbish your left foot is at applying gradual pressure compared to your right foot. Thats what i found anyway

  • Steven Roy09/06/2010 at 22:45

First time you try it you realise how much better you are than when you started driving lessons.

  • Jon Waldock09/06/2010 at 22:46

    ahahahahahahahahaahahahaha

"Our Chassis is a Delara F393 and is powered by a Mercedes-Benz Engine running on Cooper tyres."

That thing is built in 1993, they race those chassis in club F3!!! oh my, its going to be bad

  • Amy09/06/2010 at 22:47

It was a toyota. She used to get really drunk and try and drive so as the sober one i would talk her into letting me do it. She used to give me petrol money to say thanks and i didn't like her enough to point out it wasn't my car

  • Bassano09/06/2010 at 22:47

Not a Saab by any chance. They tend to make you do odd things like put the car in reverse before you can take out the ignition key in

Saab 900, the best car I ever owned

The auto didn't have an ignition lock though

  • Steven Roy09/06/2010 at 22:48

"Our Chassis is a Delara F393 and is powered by a Mercedes-Benz Engine running on Cooper tyres."

You have got to be kidding. I only scanned the website for a mention of his drive

You haven't been doing it since you were six

  • Jon Waldock09/06/2010 at 22:49

    bah?

  • Steven Roy09/06/2010 at 22:49

You haven't been doing it since you were six

It doesn't really take that long to get to grips with it. I mean you really shouldn't do it for safety reasons

A chassis that old should be in the national class

  • Pat W09/06/2010 at 22:49

"Our Chassis is a Delara F393 and is powered by a Mercedes-Benz Engine running on Cooper tyres."

But it doesn't look like one. I think they've got confused between the history of Dallara and their current car.

  • Bassano09/06/2010 at 22:50

It doesn't really take that long to get to grips with it. I mean you really shouldn't do it for safety reasons

    Just a few accidents

  • Steven Roy09/06/2010 at 22:50

A chassis that old should be in the national class

It can't cost significantly more to buy a 3 year old chassis than a 17 year old one.

  • Jon Waldock09/06/2010 at 22:51

But it doesn't look like one. I think they've got confused between the history of Dallara and their current car.

agreed, looks relatively recent, i like that they think the 1993 was a good one

  • Pat W09/06/2010 at 22:51

You have to choose somewhere safe to try it. It's like handbrake turns. Don't try them at 80mph first

  • Bassano09/06/2010 at 22:52

You have to choose somewhere safe to try it. It's like handbrake turns. Don't try them at 80mph first

Really, that's not as fun as the high st though

  • Pat W09/06/2010 at 22:53

agreed, looks relatively recent, i like that they think the 1993 was a good one

Recent but not latest.. I'm sure it doesn't have as many flickups and aero devices as the cars I saw at Silverstone, so maybe the generation before current..

I think they were trying to say that the F393 established Dallara's dominance, and so they've got a Dallara.

  • Jon Waldock09/06/2010 at 22:53

You have to choose somewhere safe to try it. It's like handbrake turns. Don't try them at 80mph first

I dont know why my instructor never told me to do the emergency stop with my left foot, it would be amazing

  • Steven Roy09/06/2010 at 22:54

I think the F393 in the post is extraneous. I think it is meant to say our car is a Dallara and is powered by........ Then they should do the history bit

  • Bassano09/06/2010 at 22:54

I dont know why my instructor never told me to do the emergency stop with my left foot, it would be amazing

    What would move the clutch?

  • Jon Waldock09/06/2010 at 22:55

    What would move the clutch?

Turn your foot 90 degrees? ;)

I actually stalled in my test doing an emergency stop and dropped no marks for it.

  • Steven Roy09/06/2010 at 22:56

I dont know why my instructor never told me to do the emergency stop with my left foot, it would be amazing

Because people have a tendency to put both feet on the floor at the same time. If you are going to try to brake with your left foot you need to program your brain to know whether in an emergency you are going to brake with your left or right foot at any time. Not as easy as it sounds

  • Alianora La Canta09/06/2010 at 22:57

Anyone know who the driver representative on the steward panel is this week?

    I hope it's jean alesi. It wont be but I hope it is. {Comment #501}

I believe he may be busy ;)

  • Amy09/06/2010 at 22:58

Speaking of indecisive, pamela would like decisions made because she wants to know if she has a ride to spa or has to book a train before she leaves for europe soon.

  • Steven Roy09/06/2010 at 22:58

Neither Sino Vision driver is listed in the National class so it must be a current model

  • Alianora La Canta09/06/2010 at 22:59

    i must get on an do stuff. cheers to alia and pat for the excellent posts, catch you all later. {Comment #530}

I tend to do a little bit, then say "oh sod it I've done something towards it" and leave it for a while.

  • Lukeh09/06/2010 at 23:09

Ooooh, thats odd. Lou just texted me about car details.

  • Lukeh09/06/2010 at 23:10

She says that it would be easier if she gets picked up on the way to the eurotunnel place as it's not far from her, if thats not a problem?

so we're both in with one of the cars but i'll get in at London with whoevers car and then she gets picked up on the way there... if that makes sense and is OK? But we're both going for one of the two cars definitely.

  • Bassano09/06/2010 at 23:11

Depending on what you want to do on the way back of course. I mean you can get two singles if you didn't want to return the same way, if that isn't too pricey.

I might just get an open return in terms of train tickets. Lasts a month and the same price usually for me as two singles.

Well Lou and Lukeh are set. I'd suggest putting Pamela in with you and Amy in yours. So that leaves two spots which it seems can be taken by Chris and Gavin because everyone else is a question mark, so they can work themselves out. Sorted.

I'll have some space on the way back [after Brussels]

Can meet people somewhere if they want to get home

    Let's plan getting there first

  • Pat W09/06/2010 at 23:19

    Let's plan getting there first

Just thinking in terms of train tickets, if a return is cheaper. Because it would be even cheaper to book this far ahead.

Gavin's likely crashing on my floor on the Wed

Pat/Lou/Lukeh: Get the wiki filled out as soon as you can please

I'll assess the situation on Tues night when I've sobered up from Dublin

Yup. As long as I'm in my bed by 1 or 2am as I have a stocktake to do next day. I'm just going to work the times back from that, but I haven't done it yet and probably won't until we know how long it takes to actually get there.

  • Pat W09/06/2010 at 23:22

Gavin's likely crashing on my floor on the Wed

    Okay. Where's Lukeh staying?

Pat/Lou/Lukeh: Get the wiki filled out as soon as you can please

I'll assess the situation on Tues night when I've sobered up from Dublin

Will do it now. Can always be changed if need be.

  • Pat W09/06/2010 at 23:23

We need a meet up to plan

    And then get drunk

May not be able to afford that

  • Bassano09/06/2010 at 23:23

    Okay. Where's Lukeh staying?

Pass, I have Pamela possibly in the spare room, depending on where Amy is staying

  • Bassano09/06/2010 at 23:24

OK, then maybe an IM/breakout session or something

    But soon

    done

  • Bassano09/06/2010 at 23:28

    done

    Now how easy was that?

  • Pat W09/06/2010 at 23:29

There was the hope that folk would start caring about how they are getting there

I was planning to discuss at Goodwood with whoever turned up, guess we don't need to now :)

  • Pat W09/06/2010 at 23:32

I'm not sure what else there is to discuss.

I haven't confirmed that yet but am still interested

    No, we're done

The rest is with me on Amy & Pamela's accommodation

Cool. I think Lukeh's gone, will chat with him at Goodwood on the best place to meet, several options.

  • Pat W09/06/2010 at 23:37

Waiting to get paid so I can book my Goodwood ticket (and EuroTunnel)

End of the month or mid?

  • Pat W09/06/2010 at 23:40

End of the month or mid?

I'm paid fortnightly and the next one is Friday. Unfortunately my rent is due Thursday. I'm slightly tense.

When I was skint, I had a bills account for rent and stuff

It really helped. Well, that and the overdraft facility

  • Amy09/06/2010 at 23:44

ï am still confused about my accommodation, I asked Alex and he said hmm and mentioned his brothers wedding but he also asked for the dates i am in town and said he would put it in his diary. I am not sure if that was a yes :D

Oh I'm making use of the overdraft, I'm in the middle of shunting it over to a card that has 0% on balance transfers for 9 months, better than paying 'em interest.

That'll give me breathing room to put money in a new account to use for bills. Then offload the card ASAP.

Ok, then you need to be more direct

You can stay here if you are unsure or want an easy route

did that with my credit cards

had a 3k debt. got rid in a couple of years, and two cards.

I did it when I was in my old place with lower rent, worked a charm. Two cars with low rates on, by the time the deal expired the other guys were offering a good rate to tempt me back.... every five months jump it across, nominal fee for the transfer, pay off £50/mth, lovely.

  • startledbunny09/06/2010 at 23:48

    evening btw

    (been lurking too long tonight)
