It was Hamilton's birthday yesterday and I missed it! I am not very good at keeping up with these important days and things, am I? Anyway, Happy Birthday to LewHam, hope he celebrated with his new friend Jenson Button. Anyway, thankfully there wasn't an enormous amount of Flav news yesterday, so we could concentrate on other things.

  • Lotus have been talking up their chances for the new season, with Mike Gascoyne confident they can beat Force India and Toro Rosso - running midfield. They're already ahead of schedule, about a week further up than where they should have been. They appear to be one of the furthest ahead teams, although Sauber have confirmed their launch, so it's a race to be ready.
  • Autosport is talking about the double diffusers and the potential that they will be banned going forward. I kinda thought this would always be the case because it was obvious that's not how the regulations were intended to be interpreted, but it was a clever way to do so. It would make sense for the FIA to tighten up on it, wouldn't it?
  • Some of the top names in British Motorsport (although I have only heard of one of them) are doing the London Marathon this year to raise money for charity. It's a BRDC thing, and if you're feeling generous you can donate here. I think it's quite crazy to run more than a few paces, but it's for a good cause, so I'll let them off.

That'll do it for now. It's Friday at last, so we are just hours away from the weekend. Yay for that, and yay for seeing you in the comments.

Hola all, a great time of the shopping for tickets for F1 racing

    Hi Joe

You going to Montreal this year?

  • Pat W08/01/2010 at 00:10

    ahhh, Friday

  • Joe in Fla08/01/2010 at 00:10

Roger that, but in years past there was a central website to get tickets, now it seems they farmed it out to other sources. My question is how do find a website you trust to buy tickets

Roger that, but in years past there was a central website to get tickets, now it seems they farmed it out to other sources. My question is how do find a website you trust to buy tickets

Start at the circuit website [if there is one] or Formula1.com

  • Joe in Fla08/01/2010 at 00:14

You are the dude! found it and will be getting my tickets in the next day or two. I thinking of the chicane at the end of the casino straight. Close to the casino for blackjack and close to the beergarden for refreshement

  • Bassano08/01/2010 at 00:15

.... Close to the casino for blackjack and close to the beergarden for refreshement

    Sounds perfect

Yeah, that would be a thing. I already got the time off and thankfully there is alot of people injured or sick in my FD, so lots of OT to fund

If my world goes perfect, I'll keep that on my radar screen, but I doubt it. Is there much to do in Spa. I always thought Montreal would be perfect meet up race

  • Bassano08/01/2010 at 00:24

Is there much to do in Spa.

Probably not much more than drink great beer and eat good food. Not sure how many are staying outside the circuit yet

    Absolutely. It's a fun town

Leo is running a loop of his first day at CES on live.twit.tv The highlight is the Lenovo U1 laptop. It runs Windows 7 but the screen can be removed very easily and operates as a Linus tablet. Then it clips back in and goes back to Windows. Clever idea

Because I know NOTHING about the internet and computers and stuff. ummm, yes and no. i guess it's how it is with anything, you start it and go "wow, im doing some really good stuff" and then see what other people are doing and go "ah...not so much"

  • Amy08/01/2010 at 01:11

i feel all this epic video producing deserves a donation. Someone please remind me when i get home as cannot do it from phone.

more than we estimated, but thankfully the snow gave us extra time. i can guarantee it's not sustainable through the season without some investment but we will comprehensively blog everything this weekend.

I assumed originally you were just doing one for a bit of fun. I didn't think you would try to make a series.

  • me08/01/2010 at 01:16

    Testing the water a little?

as i said to alex this morning. we didn't know, so we tried it.

  • Jon Waldock08/01/2010 at 01:16

as i said to alex this morning. we didn't know, so we tried it.

why did you do it? "because it was there"

  • Bassano08/01/2010 at 01:16

as i said to alex this morning. we didn't know, so we tried it.

As good a way as any to find out

  • me08/01/2010 at 01:17

I assumed originally you were just doing one for a bit of fun. I didn't think you would try to make a series.

there is no plan. but doing one wouldn't tell us much. 90% of the work was in the first show (intro graphics mainly), we need to know how long each one will take on a daily basis.

  • Bassano08/01/2010 at 01:17

why did you do it? "because it was there"

I get that with the infamous 'last pint' ;)

  • me08/01/2010 at 01:17

why did you do it? "because it was there"

in our case - "because no-one else is"

i bet. it's odd, its a bit like what i do when watching an olympic triathlon and going "i know i'll never be that good, but i can try" and you just have a go, and if it dosent work then you've tried

  • Pat W08/01/2010 at 01:22

    See ya Jon

I mean in general. F1 takes a little more of something special to succeed and is less like running a business, I guess

Assuming a fast car attracts sponsorship like moths to a flame, that is

Look at the top teams now

    Brawn - engineer

Red Bull - Horner - failed driver

    McLaren - Whitmarsh - engineer

    Ferrari - Domenicali - engineer

  • Steven Roy08/01/2010 at 02:39

I thought Genii were going for them

Or are they the backing for this?

Spyker put a bid in and got knocked back. They then announced they were no longer interested. Now Genii put in a bid and a few hours later Spyker's new bid has been announced. I gues Spyker thought that as they were the only interested buyer GM would have to sell to them. Now they have some competition they are prepared to bump up their price.

It'd be a shame if Saab folded, it's no coincidence that it went down hill as soon as GM took over and diluted the brand

I've had two Classic 900's, they were great cars

  • Journeyer08/01/2010 at 02:42

Saab F1 from 2013 onward? That can work. I do wonder if the folks at Renault know about this move by GenII, and if they gave their blessing to it (if it'll help them leave the sport).

Can't see the Renault name being in F1 from 2011 aside from an engine provider

  • Steven Roy08/01/2010 at 02:44

They were one of the most distinct brands and GM was insane to go anywhere near it. Patrick Head used to tell people that if they wanted to understand aerodynamics of road cars you had to look at them from above and SAAB were way better than anyone else.

Maybe being an aircraft maunfacturer helped back in the day before they were split

  • Journeyer08/01/2010 at 02:45

It all depends on what the FIA will do with Toyota, if they'll even do anything at all...

But then, Saab-Renault? Is that possible?

  • Steven Roy08/01/2010 at 02:46

    Definitely

  • Bassano08/01/2010 at 02:46

I wonder how much Renault are contributing financially these days?

    A lot less, I bet

Has the rumors of Nestle sponsorship for Sauber been brought up? It sounds very interesting, and if successful, may convince Nestle competitors like P&G and Unilever to enter the sport as well.

Again, I give the floor to Joe: http://joesaward.wordpress.com/2010/01/07/sauber-what-else/

They were one of the most distinct brands and GM was insane to go anywhere near it.

My fave story about Saab was a pilot who rolled his 9000 three times after going into a ditch. His only injury was a knock to the head from his flight bag

[My Aunt used to run a Saab servicing business, he was a customer]

No point regretting it now, is there? At least Jenson did it having already become World Champion - no one can take that away from him.

But if Merc ends up ahead of Macca in the championship, he'd probably wonder...

Leo's video loop covers the Nexus. He liked it and thought it was faster than Android.

Unhappy but not surprised to read Christine's thoughts on Ridley's finest

    she's wrong.

  • Bassano08/01/2010 at 04:34

    she's wrong.

I suggested she'd have been happier with the original, narrated version. Too late now

Along with Amy's dislike for it, I added:

Don’t tell anyone I said this but maybe you shoulda watched the older, Harrison Ford narrated release.

The rest of us can watch Ridley’s intended version in our neon-lit, ivory tower.

Amy, you’re in the basement with Christine until you come to your Sci-Fi senses

  • Amy08/01/2010 at 04:37

its not the worst movie i studied at school. And it is the only one I studied and now own! Maybe Ill give it another go.

  • Bassano08/01/2010 at 04:39

its not the worst movie i studied at school. And it is the only one I studied and now own! Maybe Ill give it another go.

The most recent 'Final Cut' version is the one to watch

A lot of people are irked by Ford's narration on the cinematic release but it never bothererd me

  • Amy08/01/2010 at 04:39

ps the original narrated one is even worse. Worst ending of a film ever!

  • me08/01/2010 at 04:39

Amy, you’re in the basement with Christine until you come to your Sci-Fi senses

hehe. why would she like the narration?

  • Amy08/01/2010 at 04:40

the one we studied was "the directors cut" i think.

  • Bassano08/01/2010 at 04:41

hehe. why would she like the narration?

    She says

it wasn’t until I got halfway through the film that I really understood what was going on

The narration guides the viewer along a bit

  • Bassano08/01/2010 at 04:43

the one we studied was "the directors cut" i think.

Which was nothing of the sort, apparently. More the Studio's idea of grabbing more cash from it

Ridley's intentions are supposedly in the most recent from 2007

  • Amy08/01/2010 at 04:44

i didnt mind the narration but i hated that they somehow managed to find this blue sky green hills part of the world that the whole movie lead us to believe didnt exist anymore. Boo lame "happy" ending, boo!

  • Bassano08/01/2010 at 04:45

i didnt mind the narration but i hated that they somehow managed to find this blue sky green hills part of the world that the whole movie lead us to believe didnt exist anymore. Boo lame "happy" ending, boo!

The Director's Cut didn't have narration

There are way too many editions of this gem

  • Amy08/01/2010 at 04:47

no, we studied the directors cut and then we watched the cinematic release so my teacher could say "look how rubbish this is" and the final cut didnt exist when i was at school

i think he was, at the start of the year he told us we would be studying "the most discussed film ever" but refused to tell us what it was. 6 months later when he told us we all went "...most discussed? Ive never heard of it" and then we got a lecture on how it was so great the essays would write themselves.

For Bassano. I also listen to Mac Break Weekly. It's not been quite the same since Merlin Mann left but there you are. I use it in much the same way as gruber's site works for me: sound heads talking about the news, gossip and rumours. They dismiss rumours and get to the heart of it. And they are just as likely to say that Apple is wrong as right. Well maybe not just as likely, but you get the idea :)

  • me08/01/2010 at 06:58

in some ways, for me it got a bit better without merlin, only because i like hearing about alex lindsay spending $100,000 on some editing software. whereas mm was a bit too down to earth and more interested in what imovie could do for him.

I had a really strange idea about the tablet after listening to that mbw with gruber which I'm going to note down now in case it's right.

Lots of talk about the tablet saying that this device becomes a kind of media portal. Books, music and video content deals being made.

With all of the tablet rumours surfacing one of the other rumours seems to have gone away that Apple is going to make an actual TV which has a computer in it. The latest 22" iMac is pretty close to that already. But how about this...

Steve does tablet launch in the body of the show. Like iPhone there was too much stuff to show off for it to be just "one more thing". I say launch the tablet. Say it's coming in June. Then for one more thing say, for the one more thing we are launching a non-touch version of the operating system which will work right with your tv. And it's available now for your Apple TV.

Okay that last bit is wishful thinking, doubt the old hardware would cope. But i really think that if you can sort the navigation of the all of this stuff into a slate so it can operate with touch screen surely that would also work great as a remote.

    Anyway just a thought :)

  • Amy08/01/2010 at 07:06

i say wedding, its just the reception. At one of the function places on the lake. I would totally have my reception at albert park before heading off to my monaco honeymoon. Keep the theme going.

maybe. but couldn't they make an app to do that? what does the tv os do?

  • Alex Andronov08/01/2010 at 07:11

maybe. but couldn't they make an app to do that? what does the tv os do?

sorry typo. If you have designed the os to work with a finger. It could work well with a remote. (not using the slate as a remote).

I'm sort of thinking some people why would I want to carry my media center with me on a 10 inch screen I want my media center to be 52" and hang on the wall.

  • Alex Andronov08/01/2010 at 07:11

yeah I know. With merlin the show did get ratholed a lot more. I liked it from an entertainment point of view more. Now more as a useful show.

They are behind us. Only on this show they were trying to work out how to attach an iPhone to somebody. That is so last year ;)

  • Nick in Dubai08/01/2010 at 07:37

There is no snow at all up in town. Crazybonks

I have been reading Terry Lovels book about Bernie.

In it there is a story about when he was running his car showroom.

It had snowed and the forcourt was covered, he was worried about people trapsing snow into his pristine showroom, so he asked the council to shovel it and take it away.

The werent that keen so he got his staff to shovel all the snow onto the road and block it. the council soon came to take it away apparently...

  • Amy08/01/2010 at 07:40

yay i just got ticket inspected! I dont feel like buying a ticket is a waste of time when i actually have to show it to a transport officer :D

  • Gavin Brown (RubberGoat)08/01/2010 at 07:41

    are there non blonde finns?

I'm going to guess there are 4

Do you know I expected all Danes to be fair-skinned and blonde. It's so wrong to think that because they're just as mixed as any other country!

I would never doubt that because that is how Bernie operates to a T!

As a Mathematician, I often wonder if it is worth buying a ticket or trying to dodge it and pay the occasional fine.

I think I worked out that I would have to not be asked for 60 days to get away with it :D

  • startledbunny08/01/2010 at 07:44

I expected all people from Dewsbury to be stupid before I moved here. 10 years later, and..... no, I still stand by that thought.

  • Amy08/01/2010 at 07:49

my brother left melbourne angry he had spent $60 on public transport tickets and never ever got asked to show it to someone. We were taking multiple trips every day for 2 weeks. Its no wonder people fare evade. If the threat of being caught was a bit more real it might help.

Just got home. So sore from football.

Note to self: get in shape and don't smoke and drink a glass of scotch while anchoring the midfield. It will not end well.

Sorry, no but that would be funny. I should do that sometime.

I went out drinking with some co-workers after work to a cigar bar. I figured that I would be OK for the match tonight.

Bad idea. It was raining and cold. I wasn't feeling good at all. I thought I was going to hack up a lung.

Talking about awarding points but while you'd think they'd have enough to do designing and building cars and sorting out the mess that Flavio has created - they're actually still all sat in the pub discussing the points system

25-18-15-12-10-8-6-4-2-1 is now up for debate

    25-20-15-10-8-6-5-3-2-1 being the "current" one

That seems to be the problem. Reward first by giving them a bigger gap to second... fair enough. Oh but then move 4th closer to them? It doubly devalues second place.

I would like to issue a headping to ALL THOSE ATTENDING THE MELBOURNE GP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! as I have just been to Lygon St and can't help but feel that perhaps we should have a SPC meet up there at some stage during the weekend and I'd like to put myself in charge of booking a table :D

  • Amy08/01/2010 at 11:52

do you not have any thick boots or trainers or anything that may help with grip?..you could always take a cushion just in case you fall.. :)

do you lot try socks over your shoes or is that just a crazy new zealand trick?

I'll have to rework my spreadsheet when I get home to see if it makes much difference. I'd assume not much but it is interesting that they've created a bigger gap 1st-2nd, and closed up the middle order.

I liked that the podium places were so far ahead of the others but not that 2nd gave the same advantage over 3rd that a win gave over 2nd.

On the face of it I like the new(er) one. Neater at the bottom end too ;-)

  • Amy08/01/2010 at 11:55

That happened at work! Someone had tramped loads of snow inside and knocked it all off their boots. It all melted and I came round the corner and went flying! I don't think socks would help that situation.

    Karting news:

I've finalised the details with Teamworks and I've been advised that the start time will be 7:30pm not 5:40pm as previously advertised. This is due to a very large race having been booked running over the usual start time.

Sorry if my disorganisation has caused a problem to anyone - it may make public transport access a pain in the neck, but the only other options I was offered prevent me from getting to the event to organise it...

In other news, I will be doing e-mail "tickets" for everyone who's booked and sending them out to everyone who's confirmed in the next 48 hours. You won't need them to get in, but they will have things like my contact number in case you get stuck in traffic or something.

If you've been keeping track of the organisation for this event and missed out, fear not. I've organised it with Teamworks that if they find anyone else who can join us, they would be welcome to do so. The option to book online through Teamworks directly should be appearing soon (you're looking for the 17/01/2010, 19:30/20:00 one.

    Questions for the floor:

    1) Does a test circuit have to be at the same standard as a race circuit?

I wouldnt count on it, that report said they get 3 tests in America, thats an aweful lot of slow laps

  • Alianora La Canta08/01/2010 at 12:36

USF1's testing tactic is interesting. It means

    a) they probably have a car

    b) it's not as far along as Sauber's - possibly more like Lotus' stage, or maybe further behind

    c) we won't get any comparable numbers until the first race

  • Jon Waldock08/01/2010 at 12:37

    c) we won't get any comparable numbers until the first race

Yes we will, they're going to test with the other teams after their 3 test sessions.

"Windsor said the team is allowed to carry out three testing sessions in the US, but will then fly to Spain to join its rivals."

  • Pat W08/01/2010 at 12:37

If the track doesn't have T1 homologation, then USF1 won't be able to test there whatever their press release says.

However, Barber Motorsport Park has IRL races, so it probably won't struggle too much with the requirements... ...but there could be a problem with timing.

However, Barber Motorsport Park has IRL races, so it probably won't struggle too much with the requirements... ...but there could be a problem with timing.

I would disagree with that. IRL safety standards are way lower than F1. Look at Laguna Seca for example. Never in a million years would that get an F1 licence in its current formation.

    1) I think it can be slightly lower but perhaps that's only really true on the facilities side than the track side.

    2) and for that matter the street demos.. {Comment #416}

    1) There is a Category T1 specifically for circuits that want to run F1 tests without running a F1 race. Quite a lot of things are slightly lower standard on a Category T1 circuit than a Category 1 (F1 race standard) circuit.

    2) Street demos are supposed to be organised such that drivers do an appropriately low speed for it. There isn't a category system for straight lines or non-circuit set-ups.

  • Danny08/01/2010 at 13:42

Crikey. It sounds even worse when you convert that to GBP.

I was looking for what was said in blogs and at Indystar.com. I should've just looked at Autosport.

Dario: "It's a fabulous facility - the way it's built, the way it's kept," Franchitti said. "The track is a real commitment track, a lot of really, really fast corners. I'm enjoying it a lot. I think if were to come back here and race, a couple of changes would need to be made to create some passing opportunities, but I don't think that would be a problem judging from what they've already done here."

Scott Dixon: "It's a fantastic circuit," Dixon said. "It's got a lot of elevation changes and is quite flowing. It's very different from a lot of the places we go to. It's very smooth, but has bumps and character in different areas. Because it's quite flowing, I think it would be difficult to pass. But there are changes they could make to alleviate that."

Of course F1 cars are very different.. there are onboard videos around the place which I can't watch here

  • Pat W08/01/2010 at 13:57

I should add that the 'lots of changes' never happened..

Could be. Everything I've read is based on it becoming a race venue, which it is apparently too narrow for. That's different to being a test venue. I've never seen a race there so I don't know if it could get T1 easily or not.

How far is the USF1 Factory in NC to BMP in Alabama?

  • jpancoast08/01/2010 at 16:05

How far is the USF1 Factory in NC to BMP in Alabama?

it's about 380 miles from Charlotte to BMP. It's about 390 miles from my house to Charlotte. Unfortunately, charlotte is pretty much in the middle between me and Birmingham :)

I was kind of hoping if they were going to do testing in the states they'd do it at VIR (in southern virginia), but I can understand why they wouldn't go there (it's not a "big time" track, but they do have F3000 races there).

Hey, everybody! Just had to stop by. Right now, I'm listening to the "Cavin and Kevin Trackside" podcast out of Indianapolis, and they're talking to Andretti Autosport's new director Tom Anderson. He's talking about running a fifth car for the Indy 500. Since they ran him at Sonoma last year, maybe it's for Franck...?

  • Jon Waldock08/01/2010 at 16:44

Could be. Everything I've read is based on it becoming a race venue, which it is apparently too narrow for. That's different to being a test venue. I've never seen a race there so I don't know if it could get T1 easily or not.

I love how the FIA are all "too thin, barriers too close" etc etc, when we go to Monaco and Macau still!!

Enjoying giong through today's thread to read people's thoughts on Barber Motorsports Park. I think it'll fit the bill as an F1-type test track. It's sort of a US equivalent to Silverstone, I think. Fast and flowing, with a couple slow sections. More elevation change, though. Anyway, the racing there isn't much good, but it'll be a good place to sort out an F1 car running at 7-8/10ths.

Here's a question for you, why do camera (and tv) companies always advertise their hd (and other really good) products with f1? when f1 isnt in HD?

    example

    http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/photo/detailpages/A-HD_TV2.jpg

  • Tom G08/01/2010 at 17:37

Here's a question for you, why do camera (and tv) companies always advertise their hd (and other really good) products with f1? when f1 isnt in HD?

Possibly because of the connection between F1 and advanced technology? F1 is also a global brand, remember.

  • startledbunny08/01/2010 at 17:38

Can you motivate me to do some hardcore housework please? I need to tidy up before I go on holiday or I'll just get depressed when I come back.

Do some hardcore housework please. You need to tidy up before you go on holiday or you'll only get depressed when you come back.

    Did that do the trick?

  • Steven Roy08/01/2010 at 17:40

Here's a question for you, why do camera (and tv) companies always advertise their hd (and other really good) products with f1? when f1 isnt in HD?

Because you can use the same images all round the world. If they use football for example they have to show different teams in every different country so have to make multiple adds and they risk annoying the fans of teams other than the teams they use etc.

Similar things go for other sports.

  • Lukeh08/01/2010 at 17:46

Oooh... exciting news. I've been emailed about a whole new way I can "collaborate with GMM, the world’s only Formula 1-dedicated news provision service" Well what's that? "Now, you can choose to pay only for the news articles you wish to publish."

Think I'll continue to collaborate in the old way though - by taking the mickey out of them at every available opportunity.

  • Alison08/01/2010 at 18:21

"the world’s only Formula 1-dedicated news provision service"

So not only are they wrong about it being "fully exclusive and original" as well as "thorough, highly researched and considered" but they're wrong about being the " world’s only Formula 1-dedicated news provision service" - thanks F1 Minute! :-)

More to the point, is this package any good for 3D games?

Seems pretty solid to me although I'm not the best with knowing the power of graphics cards for games. In general looks good though.

  • Alison08/01/2010 at 19:09

hehe. Right click the theme hospital shortcut, click properties and on the Compatability tab on the popup window change it to Windows 98 or something. Try oading it up again after that

It just won't even register that there's a disk in the drive :( I found a wizard but it wouldn't work either :( Never mind! Thanks.

Not sure on the gfx card, check the nVidia or manufacturer website (never heard of POV) to see if it supports it. Probably does.

It is. It was doing this the other week as well with a completely normal DVD. I'm updating my drivers. Perhaps this will provide a miracle cure.

Yes, through DOSBOX. I have no idea if it works without an emulator, but I had it working very happily through DOSBOX (albeit on an XP platform) and Microsoft was at one point advising people with compatibility problems with old games to use that particular program to work round it.

I am in mourning for Earthrace (a.k.a. Ady Gil) which holds the record for the fastest circumnavigation of the world in a powered boat - 60 days 23 hours and 49 minutes. It was built in New Zealand and could travel 3000 nautical miles on a single tank and had 2 X 540 hp motors and a crew of six. Designed using CFD to actually pierce through waves it was the world's most unique power boat (and I think beautiful). The boat was abandoned after attempts to salvage her failed following a collision with a Japanese whaling boat.

To be honest the boat was engaged in anti-whaling activities - but there is little question it was deliberately rammed into by the "Research Whaling" vessel while stationary.

Both sides whalers and anti-whalers have rammed each other, the difference in this case is the consequences could have been fatal as the cabin is in the front at the point of impact.

Actually they where waiting to get refueled - it had done three weeks without refueling. It is also not terribly manouverable at low speed.

  • lou08/01/2010 at 21:49

Oh. goodness... i just checked outside and my car (which was clean of snow 2 hours ago) is now white! (not black) and the snow comes up to the bottom of the bumper!.. there are serious blizzard conditions out there. The main road (which i basically live on) is covered in thick snow too!

If they were engaging in anti-whaling activities, they must've suspected some retaliation and steered well clear

Th ramming is inexcusable but it seems like a naïve response just to shout at them

They never anticipated the whaler to come that close with its LRAD and water canons. What is shocking is the Japanese vessel ignored mayday calls and failed to render assistance which is in breach of International Maritime Law so clearly they will be prosecuted at some point.

It is awesome because it can penetrate beneath the waves which no sailing vessel can do. The fastest circumnavigation is a sailing maxi catamaran called Orange II did it in something like 50 days!

Didn't realise it wasn't Vegetarian friendly

Guinness may be unsuitable for vegetarians as the production process involves the use of isinglass, made from fish. It is used as a fining agent for settling out suspended matter in the vat. The isinglass is retained in the floor of the vat but it is possible that minute quantities might be carried over into the beer.

  • Dan Brunell08/01/2010 at 23:11

    Hi everyone.

I think the USF1's media department and I think alike. A quote from Peter Windsor's interview with the Formula One website:

Q: This season promises to be extraordinary. With four new teams and some sizzling driver line-ups at the established teams. You’ve been in Formula One racing for so long that you must have an opinion about who is hot and who is not…

PW: My marketing and media department here keeps telling me that I need to stop being a journalist and getting misquoted....

Either that or someone read my open letter to him.

  • Bassano08/01/2010 at 23:12

blizzard is.. *checks* not as violent anymore, but it's still snowing.

Nothing here, wonder which way it's heading

    North Easterly down this end

Should be fine for tonight at least

  • Bassano08/01/2010 at 23:13

Either that or someone read my open letter to him.

    Any responses yet?

  • Dan Brunell08/01/2010 at 23:18

No, and I don't imagine there will be. If I was the press officer of USF1, I wouldn't respond. After all, if you are in a position of high exposure like Windsor is, you can't spend your time debating bloggers all the time, you'll go stir crazy.

That said, one of the ideas had for ideas but didn't list was to have their PR department start communicating with blogs to provide things such as photos, applications, and such. It seemed a little self serving to put in the post.
