According to Wikipedia, it is Andy Priaulx's birthday today. What's he up to these days? I mean, probably he'll be celebrating today, but in racing terms? Anyway, here are some of the things we're discussing at the moment:

  • Mr C has been hard at work, well, I say work but what he's done is create a playground. Doesn't sound particularly taxing, does it? Actually, it is awesome, because it's a place for all those things in development to be displayed, without fear of them not working (expect the unexpected!) At the moment we have a groovy search and some subtitle fun. More to be added soon.
  • I know I plugged this yesterday but it's worth mentioning again that Jon is out and about putting on his commentator's hat. You can read more about what he's up to here, but we'll be able to see updates throughout the race which starts later in the day, I believe.
  • Finally, it wouldn't be a daily post without a plug for Sidepodradio of some sort, and today I'm just going to say - visit the wiki, have a look at some of the subpages, and get your questions in. Our hosts want to interact with you as much as they can, so share your thoughts on the topics at hand.

That'll do it for now. The last word must be congratulations to Andy and LPG who are celebrating a new arrival. Everyone at Sidepodcast sends their best wishes. I'll see you in the comments.

    Saturday plans for everyone?

If I am able to get up in time I will get a haircut. Since it is 2am now, this is unlikely.

Then find ways of passing the time until the evening where I am to feed Dad's cats while they are all on holiday. Since I will also need to do same on Sunday morning I will just stay there and take advantage of the free washing machine facilities, Sky TV and his huge DVD collection. I will have pizza.

Hmm, well it's 11am now, I'll probably be sticking around here for some time, probably start on the next season of 24 before going to bed early tomorrow morning wondering what I did all day.

Woot! Sydney FC win 3-2 away in first game of season. :)

I was going to put $20 on them winning though, too bad I didn't cos at $2.15 I could have made a bit...

  • Christine08/08/2009 at 09:31

Morning one and all. Yay for Kathi's internet :)

    Morning.

  • Sean Golding08/08/2009 at 10:02

And now to watch England get battered by our batsmen again! Yay!

  • RG08/08/2009 at 10:13

Woot! Sydney FC win 3-2 away in first game of season. :)

How did the Newcastle Jets get on?

    Mornin all.

  • Sean Golding08/08/2009 at 10:16

How did the Newcastle Jets get on?

    Haven't played yet.

    Mornin all.

Morning. Loving the cricket already ;)

  • Christine08/08/2009 at 10:17

Morning. Loving the cricket already ;)

    What's happening?

  • Sean Golding08/08/2009 at 10:18

    What's happening?

Australia have already got about 25 runs, and it's just started.

  • RG08/08/2009 at 10:18

    Haven't played yet.

Ah, I see they've got Wellington Phoenix first up. Why do they put a New Zealand team in an Australian league?

  • Christine08/08/2009 at 10:19

Australia have already got about 25 runs, and it's just started.

So is this compared to what was happening yesterday?

  • Sean Golding08/08/2009 at 10:19

Ah, I see they've got Wellington Phoenix first up. Why do they put a New Zealand team in an Australian league?

Because they are really part of Australia. ;)

Also because NZ can't get their own league.

And they will also be Newcastle best chance at winning this season. ;)

  • Sean Golding08/08/2009 at 10:20

So is this compared to what was happening yesterday?

    Continuation.

  • RG08/08/2009 at 10:20

And they will also be Newcastle best chance at winning this season. ;)

I thought they were a good side? Didn't they win it a few years back?

  • Christine08/08/2009 at 10:21

    Continuation.

Gotcha. So we did really badly, and now Australia are showing us up?

  • Sean Golding08/08/2009 at 10:22

I thought they were a good side? Didn't they win it a few years back?

They were a good side. After they won it, they lost all their good players. They got battered 6-0 in the Champs League a month or so ago, their coach quit and haven't made any good signings. Still, they are probably in a better position than Newcastle United. ;)

  • Sean Golding08/08/2009 at 10:22

Gotcha. So we did really badly, and now Australia are showing us up?

Yep, and it's going to win us the Ashes. Again.

  • RG08/08/2009 at 10:23

Ah right, so its just went down hill. Gotcha.

And to be fair, everyone is in a better position than Newcastle United.

  • Sean Golding08/08/2009 at 10:24

And to be fair, everyone is in a better position than Newcastle United.

    Yep. Next Leeds they are.

  • RG08/08/2009 at 10:24

    Yep. Next Leeds they are.

We've been saying that for years.

  • Sean Golding08/08/2009 at 10:25

We've been saying that for years.

Except Leeds fell from higher up. Newcastle have been disappointing for a while, I was getting sick of them.

  • RG08/08/2009 at 10:27

Except Leeds fell from higher up. Newcastle have been disappointing for a while, I was getting sick of them.

My dad has said that ever since the late Sir Bobby was sacked, they have fallen down hill big style, picked the wrong managers, wrong people in charge etc.

  • Sean Golding08/08/2009 at 10:29

My dad has said that ever since the late Sir Bobby was sacked, they have fallen down hill big style, picked the wrong managers, wrong people in charge etc.

    Kevin Keegan etc.

Also signings. 6 million pounds for Alan Smith!?

  • RG08/08/2009 at 10:31

    Kevin Keegan etc.

I'm amazed they ever paid anything for Boumsong and Bramble and Butt and Barton.

  • Sean Golding08/08/2009 at 10:34

    53 runs from 51 balls today. ;)

  • RG08/08/2009 at 10:37

    53 runs from 51 balls today. ;)

Thats not how cricket is meant to be played, it is against the spirit, boo Australia,.

  • Sean Golding08/08/2009 at 10:38

    53 runs from 51 balls today. ;)

    One-day figures. ;)

  • Sean Golding08/08/2009 at 10:45

This is going to be a 3 day match at most I think.

  • RG08/08/2009 at 10:49

This is going to be a 3 day match at most I think.

Probably. But I reckon we are just letting you win this one so it is 1-1 into the final test match at the Oval, and we thrash you to win it back.

With that, I'm off for a bit.

  • Scott Woodwiss08/08/2009 at 11:09

  • Nick08/08/2009 at 11:16

Yep, and it's going to win us the Ashes. Again.

Whoah! dont get ahead of yourself, you will confuse the cricket newcomers.

The ashes is 5 test matches which last 5 days each (although this one wont last that long)

If the match is not resolved in 5 days it is a 'draw'

So far we have had 2 drawn matches and 1 win for england, so england are 1-0 up in the series, with 2 (including this match) to play.

If the series ends with the teams having won 1 match each Australia will retain the series, as they are the reigning champions.

So even if Australia win this match they will still have to avoid defeat at the oval.

Morning everyone, welcome to Nicks cricket clinc :P

  • Sean Golding08/08/2009 at 11:19

It will end 1-1. Australia will be favourites to win the 5th test, but they will probably just bat it out.

  • Sean Golding08/08/2009 at 11:20

    And morning Nick :)

  • Pat W08/08/2009 at 11:20

    Hello..

  • Nick08/08/2009 at 11:20

It will end 1-1. Australia will be favourites to win the 5th test, but they will probably just bat it out.

Unlikely, having followed England for the past few years, our performances normally go from terrible defeats to playing far better than we should for one match, to back to normality until the next disaster...

  • Sean Golding08/08/2009 at 11:20

    Hello..

    G'Day.

Is it just me or it really quiet here today?

    very..

I got up late because I stayed up late. Now I feel like I've missed half the day.. Bit of lunch then I have to attack the flat in a cleaning frenzy.

  • Pat W08/08/2009 at 12:06

(not because I made any mess last night, just I get lazy and leave it for ages and suddenly 'wake up' to how bad it is)

(not because I made any mess last night, just I get lazy and leave it for ages and suddenly 'wake up' to how bad it is)

Currently in the same position as you....

I have 2 bags of rubbish collected so far... i bet i am winning :P

  • Christine08/08/2009 at 12:07

Is it just me or it really quiet here today?

It is, but then, it is summer. People might be, like, outside and stuff.

  • Pat W08/08/2009 at 12:08

I have 2 bags of rubbish collected so far... i bet i am winning :P

I haven't started yet so you are definitely ahead of me in terms of stuff done today... although I try not to get it as bad as two rubbish bags :-)

  • Nick08/08/2009 at 12:10

I haven't started yet so you are definitely ahead of me in terms of stuff done today... although I try not to get it as bad as two rubbish bags :-)

actually i was really good yesterday and took a big pile of recycling stuff down to the collection place... because i always forget which week they come to get it

  • me08/08/2009 at 12:13

    morning.

  • Nick08/08/2009 at 12:14

actually i was really good yesterday and took a big pile of recycling stuff down to the collection place... because i always forget which week they come to get it

They are so useless here, we have these bags instead of boxes or bins, they fall over, rubbish goes every where.... not worth the hassle.

So i decided to take a load of boxes i had collected to the recycling centre... that hadn't been emptied and the massive bin there was full, so i decided to keep an eye on it... it still hasn't been emptied so i have given up on recycling and just put it in the bin...

  • Nick08/08/2009 at 12:15

    morning.

How are you this bright and cheery morning?

Its the middle day of the summer break....

  • Pat W08/08/2009 at 12:15

*promotes "get a girlfriend" 3 places up the to do list*

I should do that too.. but I don't think they like uncleaned flats so better do this first..

  • Pat W08/08/2009 at 12:15

    morning.

Morning. I've only been up an hour and I just had a shower.

    That wasn't supposed to rhyme

  • me08/08/2009 at 12:16

it still hasn't been emptied so i have given up on recycling and just put it in the bin...

i don't believe for one second, that our recycling goes anywhere but in the landfill.

    f1 made me this cynical.

  • me08/08/2009 at 12:16

How are you this bright and cheery morning?

    bright and cheery

  • Nick08/08/2009 at 12:17

i don't believe for one second, that our recycling goes anywhere but in the landfill.

There used to be a lot of money to be made.

Now the credit crunch is on i suspect most of it is no longer recycled

  • Pat W08/08/2009 at 12:18

They are so useless here, we have these bags instead of boxes or bins, they fall over, rubbish goes every where.... not worth the hassle.

At the house we have one box (glass and cans) and one bag (for paper). The come every other Friday.

This is a fairly small town and there are collection points outside 2 supermarkets and outside the police station, so if one is full you just go to the other...

  • Christine08/08/2009 at 12:18

Its the middle day of the summer break....

How is it the middle day of the summer break already?? If anyone thinks it's going slowly, I can recommend throwing a strop and going on hiatus. Time flies.

  • me08/08/2009 at 12:19

Now the credit crunch is on i suspect most of it is no longer recycled

if they rally are doing any good, there needs to be transparency, because i'm clueless as to what any of this separation is achieving, what we've contributed and what the point of it all is.

i suspect the council are just have a laugh at our expense :)

  • Pat W08/08/2009 at 12:20

How is it the middle day of the summer break already?? If anyone thinks it's going slowly, I can recommend throwing a strop and going on hiatus. Time flies.

It has been okay for me so far, not any different to when we had a 3-week break - then you remember that there is no race next week either and it suddenly feels a long way off.

  • Pat W08/08/2009 at 12:23

if they rally are doing any good, there needs to be transparency, because i'm clueless as to what any of this separation is achieving, what we've contributed and what the point of it all is.

The paper, metal and glass I can understand 'cos that gets reused. The plastic bottles get shipped to China don't they? Not ideal.

I'm in a place where the local landfill was closed because it got full so I try and avoid that if I can. We're running out of places to put it.

  • Christine08/08/2009 at 12:24

Interesting move from the FIA: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/77595

The FIA has re-opened the selection procedure for the final place on the 2010 Formula 1 World Championship entry list, in the wake of BMW's announcement that it is withdrawing from the sport at the end of the year.

Considering the fuss over the last lot of selections, why would they put themselves through this again!!?

  • Alex Andronov08/08/2009 at 12:24

I am back from Ikea, I survived. Phew!

We finally decided that we needed more book cases.

We had 7 billy book cases, now we have 10.

We have quite a few books!

  • me08/08/2009 at 12:24

am betting a cosworth team get it.

    Yes!

    Sauber or Prodrive or Euskadi

I am hoping for prodrive again...

  • Sean Golding08/08/2009 at 12:27

Although maybe they could get a non-Cosworth team to prove all the teams complaining about selection wrong, and get themselves off the hook.

    What was it this time?

  • Amy08/08/2009 at 13:40

    What was it this time?

we bought some NZ sausages so decided to have a bbq with lots of Kiwis and so ended up with sausages, potato salad, garlic prawns, garlic bread, normal salad, ambrosia for pud, 4 bags of nz chips, lots of NZ beer and a NZ soap on TV that none of us had seen in more than a year as we played 'guess what has happened to that character in the past year. Good times. :D

our sausages are just like everyone elses sausages but we bought a specific brand that are iconic in NZ. They look like this and have soooo much cheese in them. Cheese is awesome.

Aus sausages don't have cheese either. The cheese is what makes them good!

Ah, so they dont sell them in Australian woolworths?

  • Amy08/08/2009 at 13:51

  • Amy08/08/2009 at 13:54

    Hi Amy.

Adam Rickitt. He seems familiar, was mentioned a lot in the celeb gossip rags (sorry, tabloids) a while back, when I used to flick through them when visiting people who bought them... I had no idea he'd gone to NZ.

I think the conservative party told him to get as far away from the UK as possible, gave him a big check and told him not to come back!

I take it you don't have sausage rolls with cheese either? You are missing out!

No I don't... can never find a decent sausage roll any more. The stuff in supermarkets is processed gunk wrapped in cardboard proclaiming to be pastry. Someone posted a pic of a very good looking roll from Greggs the other day, shame there aren't any in this town...

I like a good Cornish pasty though.

  • Pat W08/08/2009 at 14:00

    we'd rather not

When he first turned up on Shortland Street my mum kept calling him "Nick" and everytime I mentioned to someone 'remember when he tried to be a pop star' they looked at me funny. I knew you Brits would understand :)

I don't think I'd heard his song before. Something in the back of my head is telling me one or two DJs on Radio 1 ripped him to shreds over it, although that could be my imagination..

Neighbours and Home and Away are popular with people 15-20 or so, but it seems Coro is huge in every single person over the age of 50. The outrage when it gets put on hiatus every four years for the Olympics can be heard from space.

not so much, Coro is on at 7.30 at night so everyone sits down to watch after dinner. Eastenders is on around 4 in the afternoon and I don't know anyone who watches it.

All out for 445, lead by 343. 30 odd overs left today, if we bowl like we did yesterday this could be over by the end of today. ;)

Well, amybe not, but it'd be pretty funny.

Well, amybe not, but it'd be pretty funny.

    TRANSLATION:

Australia scored 445 runs before all of their batsmen were out. This compares well to England who only managed to score 102.

Australia Now lead by 343 runs. Both teams will now bat again and add to their scores.

Their are 30 'overs' of six balls each left today, and a further 3 days play after this. This means the match is unlikely to be a draw, and australia would have to play incredibly badly to loose the match.

Unless of course, after England bats their 2nd innings they don't add up to more than 445, which is quite likely actually.

    102 is just embarrassing.

after all the jokes about my swiss friend being a midwife and how funny it would be if she got to see the fed twins, she just sent me this message:

did you know mirka was supposed to give birth to her twins at the hospital I work? but then the press found out and they changed their mind :(

but the paparazzi didn't know so when I came to work I could hardly get into the hospital cause it was crowded with security guards and paparazzis. and we got heaps of flowers and presents for roger - noone knew that they'd given birth at a different hospital, haha!

SO: there was a slight possibility that I could've been one of the first ppl in the world to see the fed-twins! AND: I already knew that they'd have twins and I WASN'T ALLOWED to tell anyone. how cruel is that??

yep. I just wanted you to know that. :)

    I can't believe she knew!

How's the chocolate milk end of the room?

Today I bought some carpet stain remover and some amazing 'no vac' odour remover that goes on like a foam but melts into the carpet and doesn't even need to be vacuumed. So far it seems to have worked as my room smells like flowers.

  • Bassano Clapper08/08/2009 at 15:37

    So i decided to take a load of boxes i had collected to the recycling centre… {Comment #167}

Had to recycle Grandma's microwave today. It was a pity - the unit was pretty but the turntable had stopped moving.

  • Alianora La Canta08/08/2009 at 16:03

    i don’t believe for one second, that our recycling goes anywhere but in the landfill. {Comment #171}

The recycling in our area does. Part of the reason why the council wants to cut lorry miles by installing a new incineration facility nobody likes the look (or smell) of, in a place where everyone except the politicians thinks is silly (there's a perfectly good brownfield site next door to a local recycling centre, but the politicians seem to prefer a greenfield site about two miles away...)

  • Pat W08/08/2009 at 16:04

    5pm??

  • Alianora La Canta08/08/2009 at 16:10

    At the house we have one box (glass and cans) and one bag (for paper). The come every other Friday. {Comment #174}

The bin and paper/cardboard box are collected on alternate Tuesdays where I live. Mum makes separate arrangements for glass (supermarket recycling), cans (in-town recycling point), biological stuff (compost or cat/dog food, depending on type) and clothes (I think that goes to the college recycling point, unless it's small enough to donate to my brother's branch of the family).

  • Alianora La Canta08/08/2009 at 16:12

    Considering the fuss over the last lot of selections, why would they put themselves through this again!!? {Comment #179}

Because Max knows he's going so he doesn't care how much of a mess his successor has to clear up - he simply wants to exert power now :(

  • Alianora La Canta08/08/2009 at 16:16

    Oh but that’s completely normal at uni. Like watching Countdown. You just have to do it. {Comment #241}

That's funny. I didn't watch any more countdown at uni than I did before or after. Probably because the philosophy department (where I took my optional units) thought that was a great time to put on a lecture, bearing in mind that nothing ever happened in that department before midday...

No, started again. It was doing it before for the past couple of days, but it's been behaving itself today until now for some reason.

One of my friends is a bit of a hardcore fan and said that their cant be anymore after the next one, and everyone is going to boycott the series if they do... Is this true?

  • RG08/08/2009 at 18:06

He's saving us from that horrific yellow kit more like. ;)

I'm not saying nothing, I've bought the new Spurs kit. And it is more yellow than you think.

  • Lukeh08/08/2009 at 18:06

    You're addicted.

Phew I thought it was something bad!

One of my friends is a bit of a hardcore fan and said that their cant be anymore after the next one, and everyone is going to boycott the series if they do... Is this true?

I thought it was 13 doctors, and we're on 11?

  • Lukeh08/08/2009 at 18:07

One of my friends is a bit of a hardcore fan and said that their cant be anymore after the next one, and everyone is going to boycott the series if they do... Is this true?

They'll get around it if the show's still doing good ratings

Wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff and all that.

  • Nick08/08/2009 at 18:07

I thought it was 13 doctors, and we're on 11?

Ah, 13 sounds familiar, but i dont have any idea about numbers...

  • Pat W08/08/2009 at 18:08

    I really have no idea

When Alan goes off on a tangent at least it is somehow interesting. This guy..

It was stated in the classic series episode The Deadly Assassin that a Time Lord can regenerate twelve times before dying (thirteen incarnations in all). They've already had a Time Lord regenerate more than that (The Master) so they can get round it. *thanks to Wikipedia*

He did 90 minutes to start off with, so by my reckoning, 9:30? Or, or, or, they might have someone else.

At a loss as what to do with your F1 base during the two week summer break?

Well if you're Red Bull you let some hoodlums* with skateboards in: http://www.red-bullog.com/2009/08/08/when-the-staff-are-away-the-kids-will-play/

    (*stereotyping? me?)

  • Christine08/08/2009 at 20:01

We're discussing the lyrics to Total Eclipse of the Heart (as you do), and Mr C says: "Living in a panda cake and giving off sparks."

He claims he said it by accident, but I think he has revealed secret plans to cook the panda once we get it.

  • Lukeh08/08/2009 at 20:03

He claims he said it by accident, but I think he has revealed secret plans to cook the panda once we get it.

Hehehe. Freudian slip I say, Mr C accidentally leaking his secret plans!

Also, Mishead lyrics can also be great fun :)

  • me08/08/2009 at 20:03

Hehehe. Just thought I'd try and break the silence :P

sidepodcast would like to announce that it's officially sick of 2cv racing now, and will no longer be watching if the guy who always leads carries on leading, oh and also not unless the political opponent we favour gets in.

    something like that anyhow.

  • me08/08/2009 at 20:04

    :D

  • Scott Woodwiss08/08/2009 at 20:06

    :D

  • Dank08/08/2009 at 20:09

    woah!

Why didn't we come up with something equally radical during our tour?

Trying to think what two unfit (speak for yourself!) gentlemen could get up to in the racebays? I'd probably plump for sitting in one of the cars and making 'brum brum' sounds :-)

  • Scott Woodwiss08/08/2009 at 20:10

That reminds me, the Classic Team Lotus meetup is still on, right? Haven't heard anything about it for a while now.

  • Christine08/08/2009 at 20:11

That reminds me, the Classic Team Lotus meetup is still on, right? Haven't heard anything about it for a while now.

    I believe it is not.

  • Nick08/08/2009 at 20:11

Random thought... why dont they make it mandatory for the drivers to have a water bottle chiller so they get nice cold water?

  • me08/08/2009 at 20:12

Trying to think what two unfit (speak for yourself!) gentlemen could get up to in the racebays? I'd probably plump for sitting in one of the cars and making 'brum brum' sounds :-)

i reckon we coulda done something with the cakes in the cafeteria...

  • Scott Woodwiss08/08/2009 at 20:12

Aww boo :( Was looking forward to that.

  • Tom08/08/2009 at 20:13

Random thought... why dont they make it mandatory for the drivers to have a water bottle chiller so they get nice cold water?

probably because it would weigh a good amount

  • Andy Taylor08/08/2009 at 20:13

    I believe it is not.

I think you're correct - not enough people were interested.

  • Andy Taylor08/08/2009 at 20:13

i reckon we coulda done something with the cakes in the cafeteria...

    A magic trick?

  • Tom08/08/2009 at 20:13

The rally guys in the states used to put a big block of ice in their cars for their "cool suits"

  • me08/08/2009 at 20:14

Aww boo :( Was looking forward to that.

we'll do something else. something free hopefully.

  • Nick08/08/2009 at 20:14

probably because it would weigh a good amount

That might be true, but if the rules said they had to have one, it wouldn't be such an issue...

Its probably a waste of effort anyway... those drivers already have pillows and all sorts of things they don't need :P

  • Nick08/08/2009 at 20:16

The rally guys in the states used to put a big block of ice in their cars for their "cool suits"

I think the biggest problem is their bottles are right next to the fuel tanks, which get very hot....

  • me08/08/2009 at 20:16

    A magic trick?

    or a competition.

  • Tom08/08/2009 at 20:19

I think the biggest problem is their bottles are right next to the fuel tanks, which get very hot....

This is also true. Maybe it should be air cooled? I'm sure they could put one in the sidepods to cool the drink reservoir.

  • lou08/08/2009 at 20:21

I like it a lot, as long as the comissioners are approved by both the competitors of each championship and the FIA...

I was suprised too, it was completly the opposite of what i expected from him, he seems to want to put some distance between himself and any major decisions.

Quite a different approach to max, i wonder how he got his endorsement, unless bernie told max what to do.

  • Dank08/08/2009 at 20:36

It still amazes me that Michelle Yeoh and Jean 'the toad' Todt ever hooked up in the first place.

One of life's little mysteries I guess.

  • me08/08/2009 at 20:37

    have you read joe's thoughts:

    Pretty good so far

    have you read joe's thoughts:

I think joe hates his as much as me, and is as impressed as I am.

The devil is in the detail, as always, but these structures could bring about fundamental change.

Has Ari launched a manifesto? It will be interesting to see how he responds to this, will he go more radical, or attempt to find some middle ground?

  • me08/08/2009 at 20:42

Has Ari launched a manifesto? It will be interesting to see how he responds to this, will he go more radical, or attempt to find some middle ground?

    nope. all quiet.

  • Nick08/08/2009 at 20:52

    nope. all quiet.

Its not good, he is loosing momentum. Any response would have been good, he is making it look like he decided to run first and is thinking about what he needs to do second.

Hopefully he will respond before next weekend. It is difficult though, Todt has unveiled some very liberal ideas, which was Ari's powerbase. If he goes more liberal he risks loosing the more centerist members, but if he goes to the middle he is still unlikely to support the more conservative clubs who will do what Max has told them.

  • Steven Roy08/08/2009 at 20:57

I hope Ari puts out something before Valencia when it will get more publicity. He is at a massive disadvantage because Todt is basically taking over Max's team so most of the people are in place and no doubt Max tipped him off nice and early.

Todt has been Max's chosen successor for several years so has had a lot more planning time than Ari.

Is there a show tomorrow, maybe i should send something like that in as #feedback?

I am actualy not sure what feedback is, is it supposed to be about sidepodcast or can it be about f1 in general?

  • Christine08/08/2009 at 20:58

I am actualy not sure what feedback is, is it supposed to be about sidepodcast or can it be about f1 in general?

Any and all of the above. There isn't a live show tomorrow, but please still do it, because we can put it in the next show.

If you're super duper inspired, we're always open to guest posts :)

  • Steven Roy08/08/2009 at 20:58

I am actualy not sure what feedback is, is it supposed to be about sidepodcast or can it be about f1 in general?

Feedback is about anything you like. You can send e-mail or voicemail on F1, sidepodcast or anything that is discussed here

  • Steven Roy08/08/2009 at 20:59

Are you planning a boating podcast Christine?

Ah that sounds great, i normaly blog on mondays (this sounds like i am nuts), so i will see if i can write something of quality, which makes more sense than my normal ramblings :D

  • Nick08/08/2009 at 21:00

I think its a mystery like LOST, there are hidden clues in that video, i just havent found them yet...

I think Christine is investigating all forms of baoting. She got married on a ship then went on a canal boat and now the new vid. Each boat gets smaller than the last by quite a bit so there is a limit how far it can go.

At some point, I'm hoping I'll find I can walk on water. No boat necessary.

I say yes. The shuffle is stoopid.

I approve of the Nano love.

I'd actually agree. You can't even see what you're selecting. Anything that doesn't have or need a screen is rubbish.

  • Steven Roy08/08/2009 at 21:24

Bad time to admit I never liked my geography teacher?

You can figure most of it by the shapes so long as you play easy mode.

  • lou08/08/2009 at 21:24

hehe i like that the lead commentator is talking to Jon over the adverts and doesn't realise.

I think it is the ultimate niche market in that it can only possibly appeal to runners.

Someone should tell Tilke. It would explain a lot.

That's actually what she wanted one for. But I assume you can get something which lets you clip a Nano onto your person?

  • RG08/08/2009 at 21:28

I did that and got 10:23.4

  • Christine08/08/2009 at 21:29

That's actually what she wanted one for. But I assume you can get something which lets you clip a Nano onto your person?

Of course. To me, it makes no sense, because if you want to go running, you can clip it or put it in a pocket, and then you can use it elsewhere, watch videos, etc, etc.

    Shuffle is ONLY for running.

  • Scott Woodwiss08/08/2009 at 21:30

Just reading thorugh some australian cricket reports (because i can prentend i am australian and we are winning)

Foxtel (part owned by murdoch) appears to be mutating into Sky.

We have Sky HD+ they have Foxtel HD+...

We have sky news, they have sky news Australia , despite the fact that they have no sky...

Then... the remote appears to be identical to the sky version with a foxtel logo instead of a sky one...

Should i be scared of this, or the fact i am sad enough to notice?

  • guille230608/08/2009 at 23:04

  • Alianora La Canta09/08/2009 at 22:01

Ah i have been waiting for DrWho discussions, i have a question…

Apparently the guy has taken over as the doctor is the last one…

    One of my friends is a bit of a hardcore fan and said that their cant be anymore after the next one, and everyone is going to boycott the series if they do… Is this true? {Comment #345}

It's a tricky one. Did the Doctor's partial regeneration in Journey's End count? If so, then the Doctor has done 11 regenerations that I know about, not 10.

It doesn't help that I don't know if the Doctor did any other partial regenerations in the old series or whether those count towards his 13.

A Time Lord should be able to do 12 regenerations (thus the 13-Doctor limit, unless he's the Master, but that's another discussion entirely...)

If the BBC does get it wrong, I can foresee a mass boycott among hardcore fans (though casual viewers will probably think they're a bunch of nit-pickers if the quality of the show remains this high).

  • Alianora La Canta09/08/2009 at 22:05

Just checked the aus website and the same pizza at my local store there is half the price :(

    Boo Dominos {Comment #398}

Domino's raised £1000 for my swimming club last year and invited a bunch of us to try out pizza-making. It was good fun, though I haven't been since. (After the calamity that was ordering over the phone from a different company a few years back, we always collect our own food...)
