There was little in the way of F1 news yesterday, and by little I mean absolutely nothing. Hence there was no F1 Minute either, which is annoying, because I do like doing those 60 second snippets. Anyway, here are some of the things that did happen yesterday and we are therefore still talking about:

  • We completed our first Sidepodfilmclub live commenting experiment yesterday and it was loads of fun. I don't know what it'd be like to catch up with the film comments after the movie has ended, but if you want to, the thread will live on here. Don't worry if you missed it, we will definitely be doing another one soon.
  • We suddenly got excited about F1 drivers on Twitter, although there have been a few of them tweeting for a while now. With the arrival of Vettel, it suddenly seemed like this might actually take off. We blogged it, naturally, but we'd also love to hear your thoughts on drivers and their microblogging habits.
  • As it's such a quiet weekend, if you're at a loose end, check out a new page on the wiki: Rural Racer. It's not a great game, and I only really say that because I am useless at it, but I'd love to know what you think of playing games on the wiki, and keeping track of how well you're doing within the page. If I can find more racing games that are available to embed, I'll pop them in there too.

That should do it for now. Here at Sidepodcast Towers, we're working on behind the scenes bits and pieces today, which is always fun. I'll see you in the comments.

Today I intend to tidy up my bloggy notes on Hungary and hopefully Valencia, in the hope of getting caught up before Monza.

For the hell of it I just did an AA routemap from here to Francorchamps in Belgium. 8 hours. I had no idea it was on a very similar latitude to here, thought it was over the channel then head north for a bit...

Well, it is either purchase the Marmot or this particular version of Marmot might become extinct. Not that mr. C has other stuff to worry about on his rap sheet (killing Ringo Starr and the Video Star... for example)...

I remember tropicana field from the world series last year... awesome name!

    So

I did, stayed on St. Pete beach, drank lots of beer. Hoping to take in a couple more games, one against the Yankees. Tonight the Beach Boys have a concert after the game

  • Joe in Fla06/09/2009 at 00:31

The Trop is great. And the Rays tank, a large shallow tank with Rays swimming around

Rossi has the donkey from shrek on his helmet his weekend??

I have always liked people who stick with a helmet design but Rossi is an exception. He has the most unbelievable designs. The one mentioned in the item that he used last year had his grinning face on the top. So when he he was head down anyone in front of him looked over their shoulder and instead of seeing his helmet saw his face grinning at them. It looked so weird on camera

  • Pat W06/09/2009 at 00:32

It was about a 20 minute taxi ride from the beach. Did that because I knew there'd be lots of beer

  • Joe in Fla06/09/2009 at 00:34

For some reason it never occurred to me that there would be rays there

You can go up to the tank and touch the rays as they swim by. I seen a few times that home runs have landed in the tank. It's just beyond center/left feild.

  • Nick06/09/2009 at 00:34

The Trop is great. And the Rays tank, a large shallow tank with Rays swimming around

    I hate rays!

Given the choice of swimming with a ray or a shark, i would take the shark!

No, about an hour and a half south. But I'm a big Rays fan and I really like St. Pete Beach.

Yeah, we get alot of people stung by rays on Sanibel, it's very painful. Always shuffle your feet when you are wading in the surf.

Yeah, we get alot of people stung by rays on Sanibel, it's very painful. Always shuffle your feet when you are wading in the surf.

When i used to go scuba diving, there was a ray with a 4 metre tail by the reck we were on. My instructor was petting it and swimming after it... he turned around and i was literally hiding in the wheel house of the reck

  • Pat W06/09/2009 at 00:43

Of course. And up to Orlando for a few days to do Disney and Universal.

  • Steven Roy06/09/2009 at 03:45

    #sidepodspace

The third and final spacewalk of the shutte mission finished after 7 hours and 1 minute. Everything scheduled was accomplished apart from a connector problem with some avionics cables which are being installed to attach to the next section of the ISS which will arrive early next year. The connector refused to connect so has been left dangling for a future mission to deal with.

was trying to install software called memcached, which will be used to make sidepodcast faster (eventually), it did't work. linux is simple, leopard really not.

now i have no copy/paste and the dektop is essentially locked :(

  • Alex Andronov06/09/2009 at 07:51

So today for me is Sidepodradio day... I am away next weekend so today is the last chance for me to actually finish my show...

  • Kona06/09/2009 at 07:54

Hey Alex, What is your show going to be about?

  • Alex Andronov06/09/2009 at 07:59

Hey Alex, What is your show going to be about?

My show is called Radio Giggles. It will be four half hour shows of music and chat. But more chat than music... Because I am a loser swot I did actually finish my Radio Giggles shows in time for the last time the Sidepodradio was scheduled. To punish me they released them on the site so now I have to make 4 more...

You can see my previous attempt over here (working from the bottom up):

    http://www.sidepodcast.com/tag/giggles/

  • Alex Andronov06/09/2009 at 08:03

Just downloading Mr C's song for the show...

    http://drop.io/sidepodcast/asset/mr-c-rocks-mp3

It's good but it's quite... short!

  • Kona06/09/2009 at 08:06

Ooops I got the quoting all wrong again... How did that happen.

I'm really not sure... What did you do?

If you are using the doohicky you should just have to click on the text you are quoting

Yeh I think I clicked on the wrong text... and then tried to correct, but obviously messed it up. This should work though

What have people got in store for today?

A long flight and looking at the entertainment for inflight stuff, it aint promising.

  • Neil Denham06/09/2009 at 09:15

    Morning all,

Hope you enjoyed the film club - We had a nice, typically Danish evening that started out as 50 people in a small farm house eating the rent (a freshly spit roasted pig) and lots of Danish food, speeches and then the strong alcohol broke out and it got a bit wild... lots of dancing and I think I sang Roxanne at some point!

  • Jon Waldock06/09/2009 at 10:19

It's incredible the speed then can carry through the corners, and how quickly they can change direction.

My girlfriends grandparents live near fort william, so im trying to convinvce her we need to go visit them so i can ride the downhill course

Not really. It was pretty much the same interview DC gave the last time he was at Moto GP. Love the two wheel stuff. Respect the guys who do it. Would love to see Rossi in F1 but don't think it will happen.

Moto GP race about to start. They are on the warm up lap

That's a point, I should really start doing some recording for my show. I think though that someone else will have to record. One of my mates called me on skype to check if his was still working and after about 30 seconds or so the call dropped. Bugger :(

Still, a guest post shall be on its way. :)

I have had an idea for commenting...

You know how Alia always links a quote back to the original comment? I really like that because often you forget where the quote came from and it's nice to read back...

Could it be possible that if something is quoted in a posted comment, somebody else can click on that quote and it will open a link to the original comment in a new window?

That must be an illegal tactic

You still want to do the show or would you prefer to do it solo?

Of course, we'll just have to find a way of recording it. I'll have to Skype via iPhone though.

That's weak Lou. Just go to a variety store in Canada, buy some Mayo, have French Fries at any restaurant and dip the Fries in the mayo. Voila! Beligum Food! in Montreal.

    Waffle

Belgium Waffles can be easily made too. Two slices of waffle between the ice cream of your choice. Choclate syrup and whipped cream. The Cherry can be removed if you are on a diet....

Nor you should have either Labatts or Molsons. Labatts is Belgium beer (Interbrew owns it) and Molson's is effectivity owned by Coors...!

You want real Canadian Beer, try Moosehead or Rickhard's. Then there are the local brewery stuff.

  • Gavin Brown (RubberGoat)06/09/2009 at 13:23

Hope you enjoyed the film club - We had a nice, typically Danish evening that started out as 50 people in a small farm house eating the rent (a freshly spit roasted pig) and lots of Danish food, speeches and then the strong alcohol broke out and it got a bit wild... lots of dancing and I think I sang Roxanne at some point!

And you were able to be up at 12.20 your time? If I'm ever drunk enough to sing I am usually extremely ill for at least the next 24 hours.

    Well I am awake ... Had a fry-up and a Red Bull!

i broke it. however, macs do suck for web development. apple have done something funky with the unix internals, so nothing actually works as expected and none of the files are where i expect them to be.

also, apple is 64bit which confuses everything.

Because if you did then you have made progress.

Quick Poll, is it too early to open a bottle of Thatchers Cider?

  • Gavin Brown (RubberGoat)06/09/2009 at 13:54

Quick Poll, is it too early to open a bottle of Thatchers Cider?

    Uugh. For me, yes !

  • Pat W06/09/2009 at 13:56

While I wasn't paying attention to the flat, little spiders have made it their home by making lots of cobwebs in places just out of me eyeline... thankfully Henry was feeling hungry

  • me06/09/2009 at 13:56

Because if you did then you have made progress.

    that would be progress!

  • Pat W06/09/2009 at 13:57

Quick Poll, is it too early to open a bottle of Thatchers Cider?

    I don't believe so

  • Alex Andronov06/09/2009 at 13:57

Quick Poll, is it too early to open a bottle of Thatchers Cider?

I think it would be okay.

  • Steven Roy06/09/2009 at 13:59

Quick Poll, is it too early to open a bottle of Thatchers Cider?

You have to open it early so that the sun doesn't heat the bottle too much and cause it to explode. Open it for health and safety reasons.

  • Alex Andronov06/09/2009 at 14:00

You have to open it early so that the sun doesn't heat the bottle too much and cause it to explode. Open it for health and safety reasons.

    That's true!

  • Neil Denham06/09/2009 at 14:00

Good advice Steven! (despite the fact I own a fridge...)

I could of course wander over to the pub and have a pint while the sun is out, but I am not sure I fancy "outside" today!

  • Gavin Brown (RubberGoat)06/09/2009 at 14:00

Quick Poll, is it too early to open a bottle of Thatchers Cider?

You have to open it early so that the sun doesn't heat the bottle too much and cause it to explode. Open it for health and safety reasons.

HSE should always come first, of course!

  • Neil Denham06/09/2009 at 14:02

Thanks guys, going to get the bottle opener now!

  • Gavin Brown (RubberGoat)06/09/2009 at 14:02

    From @Britsonpole:

Bourdais on Superleague: "It's pretty relaxed but very professional, it's the way it should be. It's a sport and it should stay as a sport."

  • Gavin Brown (RubberGoat)06/09/2009 at 14:03

Next poll question: Are Kasabian the new Oasis?

  • Alex Andronov06/09/2009 at 14:03

Thanks guys, going to get the bottle opener now!

Allegedly it's not good to drink alone... So I'm going to open a beer just so you're safe :)

  • me06/09/2009 at 14:03

Next poll question: Are Kasabian the new Oasis?

    their singer can't sing either?

  • Pat W06/09/2009 at 14:03

A can of Red Bull helped my alertness a bit. As did going round the place with a vac.. I think that means lunch.

  • Pat W06/09/2009 at 14:04

Next poll question: Are Kasabian the new Oasis?

They think they are, but they aren't.

  • Neil Denham06/09/2009 at 14:04

    Yes, they are both rubbish.

  • Pat W06/09/2009 at 14:04

    their singer can't sing either?

Noel can sing when he wants to.

  • Gavin Brown (RubberGoat)06/09/2009 at 14:05

Next poll question: Are Kasabian the new Oasis?

They think they are, but they aren't.

Doesn't 'Underdog' sound like a song Oasis should have made?

  • me06/09/2009 at 14:06

Noel can sing when he wants to.

agreed. he's not the singer though.

  • Gavin Brown (RubberGoat)06/09/2009 at 14:06

    their singer can't sing either?

Noel was awesome singing live. I don't think I'll ever see a better live performance than "Don't Look Back in Anger" with 20,000 people singing along!

I never liked the way Liam sang, but I put up with it because I always loved the songs.

  • Janna06/09/2009 at 14:07

Noel can sing when he wants to.

My favourite Oasis performances are when it's just Noel & a guitar. No whining Liam and no over production.

  • Pat W06/09/2009 at 14:07

Doesn't 'Underdog' sound like a song Oasis should have made?

A few of their songs do.

  • Gavin Brown (RubberGoat)06/09/2009 at 14:07

Noel can sing when he wants to.

My favourite Oasis performances are when it's just Noel & a guitar. No whining Liam and no over production.

Then you will love to hear that Noel plans to go solo :D

  • Pat W06/09/2009 at 14:07

Noel can sing when he wants to.

agreed. he's not the singer though.

He should have been. I always preferred the ones where was lead.

  • Amy06/09/2009 at 14:08

Next poll question: Are Kasabian the new Oasis?

I know one Kasabian song and only because it was on F1 coverage. They're not "everywhere" like Oasis was. Not over here anyway.

I like that Mr C gets all this praise and encouragement for wrecking his laptop and spending an entire day achieving nothing.

Meanwhile, I've updated the music page, redone the SPC iMix, posted a guest blog, added a second game to the wiki, and put all the graphs in the qualifying posts for the season.

But, you know, well done Mr C for being ace. ;)

Agreed! I never liked his attitude and self-importance either. With Noel you can tell he doesn't take himself seriously and it was all a wind-up...

he's reached the top of the hill and now on the same street as the shops.

  • Neil Denham06/09/2009 at 14:36

I can see beer would be a driving force, I am just surprised there is not a nearer shop, or have I got used to the luxury of living in town?

I see him frozen in time. This doesn't work too good on a dial up speed connection :(

I can see beer would be a driving force, I am just surprised there is not a nearer shop, or have I got used to the luxury of living in town?

he lives in london, towns don't get much bigger, not sure why he's so far from shops though.

i see him reading comments now. "waves"

  • Neil Denham06/09/2009 at 14:38

I can hear my conversation at work in the morning...

"What did you do at the weekend?"

"Oh, you know, watched a man walk to the shop, the usual."

  • Pat W06/09/2009 at 14:39

a what? I saw a screen showing the street with boxes on it

  • Amy06/09/2009 at 14:40

it unpaused! I heard 'uh' and then it paused again :)

  • me06/09/2009 at 14:40

a what? I saw a screen showing the street with boxes on it

yeah that's it. the boxes tell you what stuff is near you.

like where the pubs and cafes are and which shop sells beer.

  • Pat W06/09/2009 at 14:41

yeah that's it. the boxes tell you what stuff is near you.

    ah that's pretty cool!

  • Gavin Brown (RubberGoat)06/09/2009 at 14:41

Mr C, did you see my earlier comment about commenting? (that sounds awfully recursive!)

  • me06/09/2009 at 14:42

    ah that's pretty cool!

it knows where you are by GPS and which way you're facing by compass. it knows where stuff is from google.

  • me06/09/2009 at 14:44

Mr C, did you see my earlier comment about commenting? (that sounds awfully recursive!)

haven't looked back yet. i got excited by copy and paste.

what you're asking for is really tricky. i'll have a think, but i suspect the answer is no.

  • Neil Denham06/09/2009 at 14:44

Me too Pat, I am downloading this cracker so I can watch it whenever I like.

Fair enough - was just a bright idea I guess...

it's a great idea, bloody hard in practice.

i kinda prefer when the comment just quotes the relevant bit tbh.

That's the first part out - then you have to tweak them, rotate them, make sure the color and contrast levels are good, crop the ones that need cropping, copy and reduce in size those which you want to upload, and then back them up ;)

Take it from me - you can deprive yourself as much sleep as you like and kid yourself that you are OK ... then one day you collapse at work at the drop of a hat, get taken home from hospital, take a week off for stress and then be worried for the next six months while the hospital runs numerous and unpleasant tests to make sure you are OK.

You don't really need the extra cash that much do you?

No. I've done it before and I made myself so knackered I had to leave uni. It would only be very short term though... Hmmmm maybe I could just do one night a week. You're right though, I do need to be careful.

It's also nice down there - if you can, there is a great dolphin show at Aqualand in Magalluf and nearby is an awesome waterslide theme park called "Western Park"

The whole island is only 50km long though and there are loads of buses so you can explore it good!

Hah I'm only kidding. It's a commonly held belief that any old person can just rock up and get a visa here.... I'm sure it's not true. People just don't like the EU immigrations arrangements.

just the typical "big" cities at the moment, so Paris for France and Rome for Italy, then Milan while I am there for Monza. I have to go to Zurich to see my friend, and I want to do Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia in Spain. I can't decide where I want to go in Germany so shall do more investigations/asking people for recommendations.

Tell me about it - I have been through the bloody process three times now. Awful stuff.

Denmark is very hypocritical on this - if you are from the EU, they can't stop you, but if you are Kiwi or Aussie, you can only stay a year (even if you marry a Dane) and my lovely and highly intelligent colleagues from Russia and Kazakhstan (married couple) have to jump through hoops because they actually want to buy a house and stay here! GRRR!!!

I wouldn't mind fitting in a trip to Monaco, but I don't mind if I don't make it, I'll be back one day...

  • Pat W06/09/2009 at 15:57

just the typical "big" cities at the moment, so Paris for France and Rome for Italy, then Milan while I am there for Monza. I have to go to Zurich to see my friend, and I want to do Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia in Spain. I can't decide where I want to go in Germany so shall do more investigations/asking people for recommendations.

    very big list!

I quite like the idea of moving to Denmark. Fortunately my British passport is useful in that department...

I need time to do Finland so that is next time. Plus Gavin will kill me if I don't go to Denmark, and I have a friend in Norway, so it's looking like Euro 2: Nordic is going to be the sequel.

Imagine meeting the love of your life and then having to spend a year, a lot of money, and a lot of time filling out forms, doing interviews and basically having to do a lot of stuff which is a great big invasion of all parts of your personal and private lives ... just to ensure that she can stay with you in NZ? Well, that's immigration for you!

  • Amy06/09/2009 at 16:01

It is awful. A family friend of ours grew up in Ireland and married a Kiwi. He lives there now but I remember the fuss they went through.

I like doing not a lot (excellent Christmas markets though).

I have heard that they are cheap, but they don't fly from Bristol or Exeter airports, so I have only been into Hamburg and then across to Bremen from there.

  • Kris06/09/2009 at 16:06

I went last year, and did it the other way round: flew to Bremen and travelled to Hamburg on land. I paid £2 return... and I really do mean £2. - Taxes, charges, the lot... All that came out of my credit card was £2

This was from manchester too, which is the easiest airport for me to get to. You can imagine how disappointed I was the other week when they decided to move all the flights away to cheaper airports :(

  • Alison06/09/2009 at 16:06

Immigration is very odd. One of my uni friends, her dad is Canadian and her mum's British. She was born in the UK but spent a lot of her childhood living in Canada. Now she's finished her degree and wants to move back to Canada and she's having awful trouble with immigration controls. You'd think people in that kind of situation would just be able to live in either place. Apparantly it's because she wasn't born in Canada.

  • Amy06/09/2009 at 16:07

To rent a car, you must be at least 21 years old (age may vary by car category) and have held your license for 1 year. Drivers under the age of 25 may incur a young driver surcharge. An International Drivers License is required for rentals in Italy.

The question is will I feel up to driving on the wrong side of the road in a strange country where the language is unfamiliar :D

  • Janna06/09/2009 at 16:07

lou, if your friends are up for traveling but you don't want to go to London you could always get the train to Brighton. Do something cultural like go round the Pavilion, then go for candy floss on the Palace Pier and end up at the Karaoke at the end of the pier.

  • Alison06/09/2009 at 16:07

You get used to it very quickly. It is much easier if you have someone in the ar with you because you tend to drift because your point of view has changed. Driving in towns or cities or on motorways it doesn't matter which side of the car you are on. It only matters on country roads when it is harder to overtake. I have driven every combination of which side the steering wheel is on and which side of the road you drive on and you adjust very quickly.

It will cost a fortune in fees when you cross boarders, unless you have a lot of lugage or go in a group it probably isnt worthwhile.

Petrol also costs quite a bit more in Europe than Aus

I is travelling alone! My mother is worried.

Although the first thing she asked when I told her I was going to Spa with a bunch of F1 fans was "ARE THEY ALL MEN?"

  • Steven Roy06/09/2009 at 16:21

I might be willing to give up my 'I hate automatic cars and will never drive one' bias temporarily

That is not a bad idea if you can get an automatic hire car. Although changing gears right handed is not difficult. The thing I found really odd is that I am used to having a lump of metal next to my right arm and when it wasn't there I felt exposed on that side. At the same time my left side felt positively claustrophobic as I am used to having space there.

  • Nick06/09/2009 at 16:21

to get one to go the countries I want to go to is about $650 AU. There are some journeys I'd rather make my plane though, so I need to investigate these budget carriers that Ross Brawn likes so much ;)

That sounds familiar. I don't know how the eligibilty works. Do you need to be an EU citizen or can foreigners get them?

  • Alison06/09/2009 at 16:25

Really? I know you couldnt in 2006, there was a 90 Euro charge.

It depends on your hire firm. I've taken one over the border without a fee though. You get most of the fees if you want to drop it off in a different country to the one you picked it up in....

You can get cheap flights but you lose so much time hanging around airports at both ends and getting into cities.

Try Ryanair and Easy Jet for starters

  • Steven Roy06/09/2009 at 16:28

Really. I had a hire car in France way before that and we took it everywhere as soon as we read the paperwork that came with it. Mind you the company hired that so maybe they just ticked all the boxes. The thing is there is nothing except a road sign to tell you that you have crossed a border so no-one would ever know unless you crash it.

  • Steven Roy06/09/2009 at 16:28

thats the problem with budget carriers - sometimes the airports are nowhere near the places they say they are. At least the trains generally take you right into the middle.

I like sleeper trains as well, it means you don't waste a night sleeping and then a day travelling.

  • Nick06/09/2009 at 16:31

You should look at the TGV in France which is the high speed train and look at ICE trains in Europe to. I think it is Inter City Express but I am not sure. They cross several countries so you can get on one in Belium and get off in Swaziland or something

  • Amy06/09/2009 at 16:31

There is one that goes over night from Brussels to Berlin so I thought that might be a good starting point after Spa.

  • Neil Denham06/09/2009 at 16:33

I don't know of any charges going from country to country in the EU, other than the normal toll road charges. As Steven said there is normally just a sign saying you are now in France or wherever.

  • Nick06/09/2009 at 16:33

the problem is when the "unlimited" travel doesn't include the company you want to travel with, plus the extra fees for reservation charges and the extra cost for overnighters. Stupid extra fees, they're as bad as airlines.

You can never have enough Scots!

    True

  • lou06/09/2009 at 16:53

I guess if I really work on my language, I could work over there.

you could teach english in a school. you don't need to know much of the language to do that... only English.. ;)

  • Steven Roy06/09/2009 at 16:54

Hmmm you've made me really tempted to Interrail around Italy this summer.... I hate you all. You're going to bankrupt me.

Are you planning on a career as a gypsy or something? That is a lot of travelling for one year. If you can finance it though you should do it

  • Alison06/09/2009 at 16:54

My Italian is passable. I did A Level a few years ago. It'd probably stand up to waitressing or the like.

That's what my sister and her bloke are doing! He's just started as a teacher in an expat school and she's halfway through an intensive 2 week course.

  • Amy06/09/2009 at 16:55

    Do they speak irish? :P

:D They all work in Spanish restaurants so never quite bothered with the English. What little they knew they would forget after a few drinks, but after a few drinks my Spanish improved remarkably as I lost my inhibitions about speaking to natives :D

  • Nick06/09/2009 at 16:56

    Aha, it has worked.

    Me Verry expensive Lucky Charms!

    A bargain at £6.59

  • Steven Roy06/09/2009 at 16:57

I guess if I really work on my language, I could work over there.

You can always get work in Irish bar without the language. When I lived in Paris the vast majority of people in those barely spoke French and I spent a lot of time translating for them even though my French is far from fluent. Don't worry at all about language. Once you are working in it you will almost instantly pick up the bits you really need and once you are speaking it on a daily basis you will be shocked how much you know.

If you are going to do anything build vocabulary. Don't worry about learning 99 verb tenses as people know you are a foreigner and if you have present tense and some arm waving you can do past and future.

  • Nick06/09/2009 at 16:58

That is the hardest part. Once you decide that you don't care if you say something stupid and you don't try and rehearse everything before you say it, it becomes much easier. You also have to stop translating into English both ways. Just think in Italian. I know that sounds like a huge step but you can do it. I don't mean you can learn it I mean you can already do it.

  • Steven Roy06/09/2009 at 17:02

Do a Scottish accent. It takes no effort at all. I know 3 year olds who can do it

I was with my Swiss friend the moment she suddenly realised her inner monologue was now in English instead of Swiss German. Freaked her right out!

The one thing she never got quite right was "what are you doing?" she would always say "what are you making?" because 'machen' translates as both.

As far as I can see making and doing are the same word in most languages. I decided one day while I was reading Auto Hebdo the French equivalent of Autosport that I was just going to read the French and not translate as I went. To start with I had to read things twice mainly because I didn't understand a lot of the technical terms. 5 years of French at school and never once used the words for camshaft, clutch or exhaust.

After a couple of days I was reading things once in french and understanding it. Then one day I sat down and read two pages of technical stuff in one go. It was so easy I couldn't believe it. I sat there so proud of my progress then I realised it was in English.

I had 7 years of it at school. I still find it very difficult. I get better with alcohol though

I only had 1 year of German though and its almost as good as my French

With Danish, I read a sentence, translate the words I know and I get the point of it even if I can't understand the whole thing. If I am still unsure I check out the story in English to confirm...

  • Nick06/09/2009 at 17:19

There are several other places around here which sell them, i will shop around ;)

  • Amy06/09/2009 at 17:25

no. Last week I took my spoon home accidentally so the next day I ate my sultana bran with a fork.

I should buy a packet of disposable cutlery so this never happens again.

  • Nick06/09/2009 at 17:26

They've taken away everything disposable at work (the canteen provides breakfast and lunch) for stuff that is washable - and the cleaners collect it overnight too!

They've taken away everything disposable at work (the canteen provides breakfast and lunch) for stuff that is washable - and the cleaners collect it overnight too!

we have a dishwasher at work but its always full of dirty stuff because no one ever seems to turn it on, and theres no dishwasher powder anywhere to be found. So I just keep my own stuff at my desk :D

  • Steven Roy06/09/2009 at 17:32

But if you dont understand enough words of French to convince yourself that you are thinking in French how do you stop yourself from slipping back to thinking in English?

You just have to decide you are going to do it. I started off doing it while reading then after a few days I switched for everything because it just happened. I was working in English so I wasn't forced to speak French all day. Occasionally we did bits in French if someone came in who didn't speak great English. I hadn't spoken French apart from at scholl before I went there and the first few days when people spoke it was a blur but I found that I gradually picked up more and more words. After about 6 months I had a meeting with the head of the construction company who were doing the other half of the project we were working on. For 4 hours we discussed all the temperature and humidity controls for a full electronics plant. He only spoke French and I only spoke in English and it worked so well I stil don't believe it.

Remember the "F1 Bloggers and Friends Karting Competition" from January? Well, I'm doing a second one in Birmingham to coincide with next year's Autosport International (Saturday 16th January 2010) and I've finally got the details written down in my blog, which means it will happen.

  • Christine06/09/2009 at 18:45

    Guys,

I have uploaded some pics from my Mallorca holiday to Facebook, but for those who are allergic to social networking, I have added some to Flickr too. Enjoy!

All these people seeing performing dolphins! I want to.

  • Jon Waldock06/09/2009 at 18:45

Did her parents not let her watch any comedy on TV?

They let her marry Mr C....they must have a sense of humour ;)

  • Nick06/09/2009 at 18:45

    Pretty much no.

    8O

  • Steven Roy06/09/2009 at 18:45

    Pretty much no.

Sue them. It's for their own good.

  • Christine06/09/2009 at 18:47

Sue them. It's for their own good.

When they had a say in what TV I watched, we watched a few things like Fawlty Towers and Open All Hours. Then I got my own TV in my room, so I didn't watch stuff like that.

I can't see my comment plugging that I've opened entries for the 2nd F1 Bloggers and Friends Karting Competition in Birmingham. Has it landed in the spam bin?

christine hasn't seen some mothers do 'ave em?...

    nope.

What?? I was subjected to hours of it. and 'Allo 'Allo (I had no idea it was so laden with innuendo until very recently), Fawlty Towers (liked that), lots of other stuff

  • Jon Waldock06/09/2009 at 18:50

This is annoying, i may be going during one of the trade days this year!

  • Alianora La Canta06/09/2009 at 18:52

    Does anyone have a picture of Fisichella’s Ferrari helmet? {Comment #741}

No - but given what he usually does with helmets, it'll probably be identical to the one he's been using (with modifications) since the start of his career. Given that last time he tried doing a special helmet was Monaco 2008 and he spent the race fighting a progressive gearbox problem, it would be advisable for him not to change his helmet.

Jenson is going to be there next year too... which makes me want to go obv... however it will probably be around retakes :(

    Is it going to be during Autosport International again? {Comment #787}

Correct. I figure that's when the most people are going to be in one place, so that's when it makes most sense to run the event :)

  • Alison06/09/2009 at 18:54

If I were him I'd go for a bright Ferrari red one!! He must be so happy :D

i would agree that the live action arena isn't as good as it once was, and that they forgot to put seat/block numbers on our tickets, but i'd still pay to go, although i'd only go for a standard ticket as apposed to previous years

I went in '01, '02 and '04 and enjoyed the live show. The static displays were just static displays and the people on the stage were just saying their normal pre-season fluff, but live. To be fair in '01 / '02 I was pretty impressed by seeing live people on stage and static displays as I hadn't been to a race yet.

£29, £35 or £100, depending on ticket type. I'd recommend the £35 "Paddock Pass" ticket because it includes a map (which you'll need), simple access to the Live Action Arena and the ability to enter the autograph sessions if you're into that sort of thing.

If the stuff mentioned in the previous paragraph doesn't interest you, take the £29 ticket because the sort of people who would find the £100 tickets useful aren't the type to ask about the prices on a third-party blog.

Thanks. I was just looking on the website, they didn't have the Paddock Pass when I last went, and the circuit was much smaller. You get a map in that week's magazine anyway but presumably this is a special printout which is easier to carry around...

The £100 ticket doesn't interest me at all! It mentions the phrase "champagne and canapes" with a straight face, not realising this is not Monaco in May, it is Birmingham in January :-D

The only thing that you'll get from a paddock pass is autographs (if you want to queue), you get a lanyard with a map (as Alia says) and you can go "Backstage" at the live action arena, but all the cars are behind building-like-fences (without the barbed wire) and you cant get near them.

  • Alianora La Canta06/09/2009 at 19:33

It is pocket-sized and comes on a lanyard, so you can wear your essential navigation aid instead of leafing through upteem bags.

You don't need a pass to get into the paddock at Snetterton ;)

Although you do need one to get into the garages and hospitality. But you're free to walk behind the pit garages and inbetween the transporters. It's pretty good access for a facility such as Sneterton. I like it anyway :)

Professional networking opportunities. It's the same thing that causes people to pay £500 to attend one day of a library conference. At the side of that, £100 doesn't seem quite so silly.

Though anyone who needs telling that the VIP ticket offers professional networking opportunities is probably too low on the professional ladder to get any benefit from using the ticket that way.

Fair enough,i arrived on Friday morning when you don't need any passes to get in, i never left the paddock when i was there except for a walk along by Russel Chicane at 5.30 in the morning, but it was pretty foggy so i couldnt really tell where i was going

  • Gavin Brown (RubberGoat)06/09/2009 at 19:49

I really really heart the Red Arrows video - well done!

    I like it too

  • Steven Roy06/09/2009 at 19:50

How do you get in then? Can you just walk straight in?

At Knockhill you can stroll through the paddock all day if you like regardless what is on. Even when they have BTCC or when they had F3 the padock is open to anyone

  • Scott Woodwiss06/09/2009 at 19:51

That's with your normal £25 ticket, you don't pay the £10 extra?

If you mean Snetterton, you just pay the ticket price and then you're free to explore! But to get into the pit garages and the hospitality, you need a paddock pass.

  • Jon Waldock06/09/2009 at 19:53

If you mean Snetterton, you just pay the ticket price and then you're free to explore! But to get into the pit garages and the hospitality, you need a paddock pass.

What do you mean by in the garages? Actually in in the garages? Or do you mean between the garages and transporters?

  • Alison06/09/2009 at 19:53

Are these things about F1? Or is it more general motorsport?

  • Jon Waldock06/09/2009 at 19:53

Are these things about F1? Or is it more general motorsport?

    Everything :D

  • Scott Woodwiss06/09/2009 at 19:54

But to get into the pit garages and the hospitality, you need a paddock pass.

Which, if my dad gets the Clerk of the Course position at Snetterton, won't be a problem ;)

  • Alison06/09/2009 at 19:55

    Everything :D

So even if you don't have the slightest bit of interest in anything other than F1, would you enjoy going? I just like the human element of F1.

  • Pat W06/09/2009 at 19:55

If you mean Snetterton, you just pay the ticket price and then you're free to explore! But to get into the pit garages and the hospitality, you need a paddock pass.

At Thruxton BTCC they won't let you through the tunnel into the paddock without the extra pass. Once you are there you can walk among the transporters and get between them and the garages. Jason Plato glared at me as he lit a cigarette, it was then I realised I'd been staring at him.

  • lou06/09/2009 at 19:56

So even if you don't have the slightest bit of interest in anything other than F1, would you enjoy going? I just like the human element of F1.

Jenson will be there... he is a human in f1 :P

Ummm.....i'm not the best person to talk to if its just F1 your interested in ;)

  • Nick06/09/2009 at 19:57

So even if you don't have the slightest bit of interest in anything other than F1, would you enjoy going? I just like the human element of F1.

Wait i go out and now there is F1 at sneterton?

I thought Donningotn was a joke, but Snetterton?

  • Pat W06/09/2009 at 19:57

So even if you don't have the slightest bit of interest in anything other than F1, would you enjoy going? I just like the human element of F1.

Depends what stage of fan-dom you are at. If you have never been to an F1 race or test, and have never seen an F1 car before, you absolutely should go. You will also see drivers on the main stage although I never figured out how you know who is on when.

  • Alison06/09/2009 at 19:57

I just mean I'm not so into the technical stuff, or other forms of motorsport particularly. I just like the drama of F1.

I do have the benefit of never having been to anything like that before. Also I know nothing about anything so I'm likely to actually learn things.

  • Steven Roy06/09/2009 at 19:58

So even if you don't have the slightest bit of interest in anything other than F1, would you enjoy going? I just like the human element of F1.

You have to smell and feel motor racing and properly here it. Just watching it is 20% of the experience

  • Jon Waldock06/09/2009 at 19:59

I do have the benefit of never having been to anything like that before. Also I know nothing about anything so I'm likely to actually learn things.

Then go! Make sure you get stuck in learning about things and try and find someone who can teach you stuff!

  • Alison06/09/2009 at 19:59

I went to Silverstone with my dad last year. Oddly enough before I was a fan.... He wanted to go for his birthday but it seemed cruel to let him go by himself!

I was nominated as the person "least likely to hate it" Since then I've become hardcore hooked.

But you are in New Zealand when Autosport International is on

Yes, actually in the garages is what I mean. But you are allowed to walk behind them and between the transporters.

I thought Donningotn was a joke, but Snetterton?

Oi, don't bad mouth Snetterton. It might now be the biggest facility but it's still cool!

  • Pat W06/09/2009 at 20:02

You have to smell and feel motor racing and properly here it. Just watching it is 20% of the experience

I agree completely. But... the first time I went I'd never seen a Formula 1 car with my eyes before. They didn't move and the engine didn't fire, I still had a good time because I was amazed at how small they are.

Now I've seen them moving at Goodwood 3 times I'm not hugely bothered about static displays unless they have special historic interest or are completely new. Depends where you are as a fan.

  • Jon Waldock06/09/2009 at 20:03

Maybe it is a standard Spanish abbreviation or something the Spanish press call him and Fernando Alonso is taken

  • Alison06/09/2009 at 20:11

In all honesty, the way he's talking reminds me of the things Vettel was saying on there.... Me is suspicious.

  • lou06/09/2009 at 20:12

no... i've seen the nandoalonso account before, which seems to be all in spanish... but this is all in english... who knows. we need rubens or jenson to say if it's them...

You think Alonso and Vettel are the same person

  • Pat W06/09/2009 at 20:13

I'm reading our tinpot local paper which I bought to look at ads for flats.

Our town is 'twinned' with a place in France and like here they have a sign on the edge of town saying 'twinned with..' (but theirs is in French). Turns out they use it for rifle practice.

  • Alison06/09/2009 at 20:14

You think Alonso and Vettel are the same person

It kinda looks like that. They joined at like exactly the same time..... Plus they've been "talking" to each other.

no... i've seen the nandoalonso account before, which seems to be all in spanish... but this is all in english... who knows. we need rubens or jenson to say if it's them...

  • lou06/09/2009 at 20:15

indeed. maybe if lots of us ask at once they'll see the messages and be able to tell us?

Well it's only just come to my attention. Tis wierd that they've only just reported it

I think Autosport had it in the paper version. They said that Citroen was prepared to let Loeb drive in 1 once he clinched the championship which at that time could have meant he did 5 F1 races but his recent problems mean he will only do Abu Dhabi. At that time he had supposedly agreed a deal with STR

  • Bassano Clapper06/09/2009 at 20:41

  • lou06/09/2009 at 20:47

Hullo, I'm back, with lots of cuts, bruises, smelliness and exhaustin :)

cuts and bruises?? i thought you were playing football... not something violent?...

  • Bassano Clapper06/09/2009 at 20:48

Is your orange drill warmed up?

Always, it's like Thunderbirds round 'ere ;)

  • RG06/09/2009 at 20:48

cuts and bruises?? i thought you were playing football... not something violent?...

I've come back with broken wrists before. Its a violent game if the striker is big and heavy.

  • Bassano Clapper06/09/2009 at 20:48

you know you could just invite bassano around for a cup of tea? you don't have to wreck your house.

As long as there are biccies too ;)

  • Lukeh06/09/2009 at 20:48

    Did you win?

Nah. We won 2, drew 1 and lost 4 but it was a good evening :D

Plus we didn't come last, hehehe. And I scored a few goals, woop.

  • Steven Roy06/09/2009 at 20:48

cuts and bruises?? i thought you were playing football... not something violent?...

    You've never played football then?

  • Pat W06/09/2009 at 20:48

Hullo, I'm back, with lots of cuts, bruises, smelliness and exhaustin :)

    hey

  • Alison06/09/2009 at 20:48

Hmmm I've taken a photo on my phone. Is there any way to text photos to the drop? I thought I could email it but it really hasn't worked.... My phone is proper old school.

  • Steven Roy06/09/2009 at 20:49

Always, it's like Thunderbirds round 'ere ;)

Can you get Giggles round to live stream and yammer?

  • lou06/09/2009 at 20:49

I've come back with broken wrists before. Its a violent game if the striker is big and heavy.

    O.O

you can tell i've not watched a football game before can't you...

  • RG06/09/2009 at 20:49

I've come back with broken wrists before. Its a violent game if the striker is big and heavy.

And I've done a few tackles myself. Gotta play it hard, tis the only way.

  • Steven Roy06/09/2009 at 20:49

Plus we didn't come last, hehehe. And I scored a few goals, woop.

    That sounds good

  • RG06/09/2009 at 20:50

    erm, not sure there is?

  • lou06/09/2009 at 20:52

    You've never played football then?

i don't play/watch/ have any interest in football. i prefer playing racket sports like tennis and badmington... and swimming... and watching f1....

  • Lukeh06/09/2009 at 20:52

    Any beauties?

5 a side tourney so theres only so mcuh you can do. My best goal though which I got a few pat on the backs for was when I was in the very corner, turned the defender, and curled it around into the far side of the net. Nice little shot :)

The rest were generic shots and the like. Was in goal for most of the games though so didn;t get too many chances obviously

  • Alison06/09/2009 at 20:52

    erm, not sure there is?

Ah well you'll have to live without. Unless I carry my laptop into the hall and take a photo with the webcam.

  • Neil Denham06/09/2009 at 20:52

Is football the one with the round ball?

  • Steven Roy06/09/2009 at 20:53

i don't play/watch/ have any interest in football. i prefer playing racket sports like tennis and badmington... and swimming... and watching f1....

I am fairly certain swimming isn't a racquet sport although that could explain why I am no good at it.

  • RG06/09/2009 at 20:54

Don't like 5 a side, unfair on keepers. Did go a tourney without conceding mind you. Though we got knocked out on the semi's on pens. Bit like Switzerland.

  • lou06/09/2009 at 20:54

I am fairly certain swimming isn't a racquet sport although that could explain why I am no good at it.

no... the swimming was separate... i'm not making much sense atm am i.

  • Pat W06/09/2009 at 20:59

    erm, not sure there is?

    MMS will do it

That's how I do it. I think? I made a contact called Sidepodcast Drop, didn't assign a number but there is space to edit in an email address (I think after you first save the contact). Mine is a fairly old phone too.

  • Alison06/09/2009 at 20:59

Hold on, we have to plug our own shows now? Darn, I'll get Word open then.

  • Alison06/09/2009 at 21:23

I don't know if the photos give you an idea of the scale of that window... The hall is double height. The top of the rail is about 4m off the ground. I'd need scaffolding to get up there to fix it. Goodness only knows what I'm gonna do.....

  • Steven Roy06/09/2009 at 21:24

Pat made a comment yesterday on the F1 phone in show post that we may get a better response i the show was earlier. There is a vacant slot at 2:30pm and I can see that people would be more likely to phone at that time.

Does anyone object to the show being moved to there?

@Alison Would that suit you or is it something you would not be happy about?

  • Bassano Clapper06/09/2009 at 21:25

How do you ever manage to open & close the curtains?

  • Alison06/09/2009 at 21:25

@Alison Would that suit you or is it something you would not be happy about?

Yup that suits me fine I reckon. It's still a Sunday yeah?

  • Steven Roy06/09/2009 at 21:25

You don't have to but the opportunity is there if you want to use it.

  • Alison06/09/2009 at 21:25

How do you ever manage to open & close the curtains?

Errr do you move your curtains by touching the rail?? You just move the curtain!

  • RG06/09/2009 at 21:26

You don't have to but the opportunity is there if you want to use it.

Might as well, would love some more questions.

  • Scott Woodwiss06/09/2009 at 21:26

Have an of you guys seen in NOTW today? Briatore is apparently blaming Barrichello for the safety car that came out. What the article does point out is that Rubens stopped after the satefy car had been and gone. Flav's as mad as a deluded tramp, and to be honest he has the looks to go with it.

  • Steven Roy06/09/2009 at 21:26

It doesn't look that big in the pic. Bassano will fix it. He probably hasa scaffolding tool for his drill

  • Bassano Clapper06/09/2009 at 21:27

Errr do you move your curtains by touching the rail?? You just move the curtain!

I mean, if they're at that height

If you're tugging on the bottom of the curtain, that'd put some strain on the pole eventually

  • Steven Roy06/09/2009 at 21:27

Yup that suits me fine I reckon. It's still a Sunday yeah?

    Still September 20th

  • RG06/09/2009 at 21:28

The news of the world's F1 department probably picked a story out of a hat with x amount of names needed for story, then picked out the amount of names needed out of another hat.

Thanks! Just thought there might be people going to bed early ready for work, like Gavin.

  • Alison06/09/2009 at 21:30

If you're tugging on the bottom of the curtain, that'd put some strain on the pole eventually

Not if you don't pull down. I can reach the bottom of the curtain with comfort. You just pull across not down! It's sturdy wood :(

I phoned my bf and told him he had to come back and fix my curtain pole. He now thinks I've lost the plot.

  • Bassano Clapper06/09/2009 at 21:31

    It's sturdy wood :(

As soon as I read your comment it seemed sensible. I have now changed it in the wiki.

We have two empty slots so there is still the option of doing a show if you have an idea.

  • Alianora La Canta06/09/2009 at 21:37

    You will also see drivers on the main stage although I never figured out how you know who is on when. {Comment #890}

There are large screens by the main stage that give the times for when people are supposed to be on there. The schedule sometimes gets warped a bit though.

  • Steven Roy06/09/2009 at 21:37

Not if you don't pull down. I can reach the bottom of the curtain with comfort. You just pull across not down! It's sturdy wood :(

If you are pulling the bottom of the curtain across you are applying a downward force on the pole.

  • Alison06/09/2009 at 21:38

If you are pulling the bottom of the curtain across you are applying a downward force on the pole.

Yeah but surely all curtains work like that.... I can't reach the pole of any of my curtains.

You pull the side, it's just near the bottom.

  • Alex Andronov06/09/2009 at 21:38

I phoned my bf and told him he had to come back and fix my curtain pole. He now thinks I've lost the plot.

    isn't window fixtures's bassano's department ;)

  • Jon Waldock06/09/2009 at 21:38

If you are pulling the bottom of the curtain across you are applying a downward force on the pole.

However you pull a curtain, unless your pulling the curtain ring instead, your always putting a downward force on teh pole

  • Pat W06/09/2009 at 21:39

  • Steven Roy06/09/2009 at 21:39

He needs you to live stream and yammer. He refused to go until you turned up.

ah I see. Well I'm not here so that's a problem.

I have to go to sleep because of the getting up at five tomorrow.

  • Steven Roy06/09/2009 at 21:42

ah I see. Well I'm not here so that's a problem.

Hi Chris. You missed Alex live streaming a beer purchase.

  • lou06/09/2009 at 21:42

You are prepared to leave Alison with no curtains just for a couple of hours sleep

how would you even fix a broken curtain pole?

  • Alison06/09/2009 at 21:43

    isn't window fixtures's bassano's department ;)

I think the main issue was that my descriptive skills are lacking. I couldn't really explain what had happened to it or the state it was in now. Plus I think I woke him up. He wasn't impressed that all I wanted to talk about was window fixtures :P

  • me06/09/2009 at 21:43

how would you even fix a broken curtain pole?

    with an orange drill.

    lol. Not much then.

Hi Chris. You missed Alex live streaming a beer purchase.

    Highlight of my weekend.

  • Bassano Clapper06/09/2009 at 21:43

However you pull a curtain, unless your pulling the curtain ring instead, your always putting a downward force on teh pole

Precisely. Newton had some good thoughts on this subject

Yeah but surely all curtains work like that.... I can't reach the pole of any of my curtains.

What you need is a long stick

  • Jon Waldock06/09/2009 at 21:43

I think Jon could promote his new podcast by doing a live version.

Jon would love too but thats the day i move into halls

  • me06/09/2009 at 21:44

Hi Chris. You missed Alex live streaming a beer purchase.

    Highlight of my weekend.

    :)

  • Bassano Clapper06/09/2009 at 21:45

how would you even fix a broken curtain pole?

    with an orange drill.

Well, someone got up there in the first place to put it there

Do you have a tall ladder?

  • Neil Denham06/09/2009 at 21:45

Hi Chris. You missed Alex live streaming a beer purchase.

The bit where he walked up the street, classic!

  • Bassano Clapper06/09/2009 at 21:46

I think the main issue was that my descriptive skills are lacking. I couldn't really explain what had happened to it or the state it was in now. Plus I think I woke him up. He wasn't impressed that all I wanted to talk about was window fixtures :P

    Cricket score payback :)

  • Alison06/09/2009 at 21:46

Do you have a tall ladder?

No! Not that tall. I think I underestimated the height when I described it. It really is a scaffolding job. I'm now terrified to touch it incase it all comes crashing down.

  • Alison06/09/2009 at 21:47

    Cricket score payback :)

Nowhere near.... What I need to do is ring again in about 90 minutes once he's definitely sound asleep again.

  • Bassano Clapper06/09/2009 at 21:48

No! Not that tall. I think I underestimated the height when I described it. It really is a scaffolding job. I'm now terrified to touch it incase it all comes crashing down.

Not to alarm you or anything, but it probably will at some point

  • Steven Roy06/09/2009 at 21:48

how would you even fix a broken curtain pole?

    You call Bassano.

  • Bassano Clapper06/09/2009 at 21:48

how would you even fix a broken curtain pole?

    You call Bassano.

I provide drilling services and labour.

We still need safe, working at height access

  • Steven Roy06/09/2009 at 21:50

Jon would love too but thats the day i move into halls

You can do a pre-record if that helps. I like the idea of the people who only watch F1 getting an intro into the feeder series and some up and coming drivers.

  • Bassano Clapper06/09/2009 at 21:50

    You buy a new one?

    And throw it up?

  • Steven Roy06/09/2009 at 21:50

No! Not that tall. I think I underestimated the height when I described it. It really is a scaffolding job. I'm now terrified to touch it incase it all comes crashing down.

Do you have a crash helmet just in case?

    Me too, sounds good

I watched some of the F2 race yesterday

  • lou06/09/2009 at 21:51

    You buy a new one?

makes sense i suppose... although i've never had to buy one to i wouldn't know where to go.. :D

  • Steven Roy06/09/2009 at 21:51

how would you even fix a broken curtain pole?

Drill a couple of holes and super glue dowel pins into them

  • Steven Roy06/09/2009 at 21:52

I provide drilling services and labour.

You provide your own cherry picker?

  • lou06/09/2009 at 21:53

You can do a pre-record if that helps. I like the idea of the people who only watch F1 getting an intro into the feeder series and some up and coming drivers.

or maybe just pre record a little 5 min teaser or a little advert that could be played between shows?..

  • Bassano Clapper06/09/2009 at 21:53

You provide your own cherry picker?

I have access to one but my employer doesn't really like it to go off-base

  • Alison06/09/2009 at 21:53

To further complicate it, the stairs start directly under the window.... You can't even put a ladder directly under the offending area (if you found a superlong one) because it'd have to be half on the stairs

  • Bassano Clapper06/09/2009 at 21:54

makes sense i suppose... although i've never had to buy one to i wouldn't know where to go.. :D

    IKEA, Homebase, B&Q, Wickes...

  • Bassano Clapper06/09/2009 at 21:54

Drill a couple of holes and super glue dowel pins into them

    And stop tugging it

If you give me a couple of days, ask me say Wednesday, then i can give you a definite answer. I wanna get the first podcast out by then, and then there should be another on the following Tuesday but it'll be less work because F2 and WSR aren't racing. I *should* be able too, but if you give me a couple of days and i'll give you a definite answer.

  • Bassano Clapper06/09/2009 at 21:57

One senses that Flavio may have been watching a different race to the rest of us...

Anyone realised the timer in the FBFB is still running?

  • Steven Roy06/09/2009 at 21:59

Yes. Don't touch it at all now and hope that a heavy spider doesn't touch it either.

The window doesn't open! I could just fire a nail gun at the curtain from the ground, hold it up....

  • Jon Waldock06/09/2009 at 22:03

RG has been on holiday so he probably doesn't know about your feeder series thing

oh ok, it was half a blog post, and wasnt really that informative. If your still around Mr RG, it's going to be about F2, GP2 and WSR.
