Friday has reached us at last, and I know I'm not the only one who is glad Thursday is over. From the very beginning when I thought it was still February, everything that could go wrong seemed to go wrong. But never mind, we're on to another (hopefully better) day and here are some things we're talking about:

  • The very badly named HRT team dominated headlines yesterday as they launched a new car and confirmed another driver. With a full line up now of Senna and Chandhok, they're gearing up for the season to begin and team principal Colin Kolles is still suggesting they could be the most successful of the new teams. I'm not sure about that, they haven't had a minute out on track.
  • It looks as though we might be getting another of those pre-season controversies, with Red Bull "asking the question" about the McLaren's rear wing. This brings back so many bad memories of the diffuser issues before the 2009 season got underway, and through the first few races. Let's hope they can sort this out before it gets anywhere near overshadowing the action.
  • Renault will be running some Lada branding on their car this year, as the manufacturer get on board sponsoring both the team and Vitaly Petrov. Presumably they don't mind the horrible red mirrors, then. The name looks good on the car, although I can't decide if that's just because it's nice to see sponsorship rather than empty chassis'.

That's all for now, let us know what you've got planned for the weekend, and I will see you in the comments.

    Hello :)

  • Bassano05/03/2010 at 00:09

Sad to report a Tesco FAIL tonight

Stopped off especially for the highly recommended Green & Black's Ice Cream to find a rather small selection and no G&B in sight

Still, the Dark Chocolate Fudge Cake flavour is still quite tasty

Also, their Mex Chilli Cheddar is no where near as gorgeous as the Somerset Afterburn we had last week [though that's not a surprise]

    Hi

  • Jon Waldock05/03/2010 at 00:14

I think I've discovered a problem with Bruno Senna....

He has a hat stuck to his head and he can't get it off.....

That stupid Blue hat has been on his head since British Formula 3 many years ago!! Suit + Blue Hat = HA

It would appear that Sainsbury's do stock it, though am guessing it's not on offer [It is, however, about 3mins away - next time!]

Niki Lauda was the first one to wear a cap permanently after his accident. Pretty soon it had a Parmalat logo on it and at one time they were supposedly donating him $1 million a year for the privelege. Ayrton Senna regulalry wore a blue cap with Nacional on it.

It would work but I can't imagine it would be comfortable for the driver and is bound to lead to cramp late in the race. Surely much easier to do the James Hunt thing and carry a cloth in the car. Then stuff it in the slot at the start of the straight and pull it out at the end.

I don't doubt that, I just think to be an effective difference it'd take more than positioning a knee near an inlet or duct

  • Steven Roy05/03/2010 at 00:31

James Hunt when commentating used to go on at length about how stupid drivers were for not keeping a cloth between their legs. Every time someone had something on their visor he would tell the same story about how he always kept a damp cloth between his legs to clean his visor. So to save valves or soft tubes or driver gymnastics stick the damp cloth in the hole.

Not if the wing is set right. Thisnk of the hole and everything that goes with it as an aerodynamic turbocharger. The wing or at least the part the turbo feeds is stalled without the turbo. ie if you have no snorkel and drive round that part of the wing won't work. Add the turbo and the extra airflow it supplies is enough to keep the airflow attached and generate downforce (and drag). Shut the turbo off on the straight and you have a stalled wing with minimum drag.

  • Steven Roy05/03/2010 at 00:37

Yes but you can only wear a few of those and in the 70s cars spewed oil all the time and tracks were not the modern polished surface and many were overhung with trees and the like so unless they had 20 tear offs they had to try to clean the visor during many races.

I think both go over the north pole or close to that route. The plane flying from NY to Paris has advantage because of the earths rotation, it's spinning in it's favor.

I think both go over the north pole or close to that route. The plane flying from NY to Paris has advantage because of the earths rotation, it's spinning in it's favor.

The N. Atlantic routes do fly closer to the ploe than a point to point line on a map would indicate [it's shorter] but I'm not sure the Earth's rotation will affect them

  • Alison05/03/2010 at 00:46

Nooooo, I don't want to dedicate another 6 years with no answers! :)

The N. Atlantic routes do fly closer to the ploe than a point to point line on a map would indicate [it's shorter] but I'm not sure the Earth's rotation will affect them

Why would the earths rotation not affect it? Is airspeed calculated in with the earths rotation (I'm not sure myself, I'm scared of flying anyway)? If not, the earth spinning would greatly affect the ability to cut time from NY to Paris and stack time going the opposite direction.

How does jetstream affect time? 500 mph is 500 mph. Now if were talking the planes using a certain level of thrust instead of laying down the direct airspeed of both, a jetstream would be an advantage.

The Jetsream will affect the local conditions which will affect the relative speed of the aircraft [head or tail wind]

I am a great believer in making things as simple as possible. Imagine you are walking through an airport at 5mph. Beside you there is a moving wakway also travelling at 5 mph with someone standing on it. If he was a plane effectively he has a 5 mph tail wind. His airspeed (in relation to the walkway) is zero but his ground speed(in relaltion to the floor around the walk way) is 5 mph. If he walks at 5 mph his airspeed is 5 mph but his ground speed is 10 mph. In effect he is covering ground twice as fast as he is walking because the walkway (or air if he was a plane) is doing half the work

    Well put.

The circumference of the earth is around 25000 miles. Since the earth does one rotation every 24 hrs, the affect would be a bit overr 1000 mph. Since a commercial plane cant fly 1500mph, I guess the rotation wont have anything to do with the flight other than atmospheric pressure and wind currents.

  • Alison05/03/2010 at 01:09

What have you done to it?

The doctor cut it :( I'm sure she was trying to help but now it's sore.

Earths rotation isn't factored into physics questions involving point to point speed either when some object takes flight. Gravity but not earths rotation.

Rotation has no effect unless you want to leave the atmosphere and head into space. Then it is much better to launch as near as possible to the equator but that is a whole different set of calculations and still won't tell us which one is nearer Paris when they meet

  • Bassano05/03/2010 at 01:11

At least the echo still works

    How weird

Typed a response from my phone whilst I was in the kitchen

They'll both be and equal distance. I was merely doing some thought wandering as to which would make it to their destination quicker.

Is he a witch doctor? Bleeding people went out of fashion a long time ago. Now doctors when they don't know what is wrong with you mess with your head instead

  • Jon Waldock05/03/2010 at 01:12

I am going to bed. I am tired. I am reading a thick book that is both out of date and of no interest to me. I am talking in short sentances. I spelt sentence wrong.

    Goodnight.

I'm sure I asked her to do it. I want sympathy really. Nick just wanted to laugh.....

It's so annoying. I can't have a shower for 5 days because I can't get my arm wet. I've been reduced to ridiculous arm-in-the-air bathing....

  • Bassano05/03/2010 at 01:13

Since a commercial plane cant fly 1500mph...

    Concorde reached that or thereabouts

    Though that's obviously now retired

I can't remember which way the jetstream works but assuming Jon's original question contained ground speeds rather than air speed the one leaving Paris was going 50mph slower so would take 10%ish longer to get to its destination

  • Steven Roy05/03/2010 at 01:14

    ;)

Aside from the fact that a point on the Earth's surface isn't in the same position it was an hour ago

Aside from the fact that a point on the Earth's surface isn't in the same position it was an hour ago

My belief has always been that planes can't fly. They over until the appropriate piece of the planet is under them.

  • Alison05/03/2010 at 01:17

    No waterproof dressing covers?

Apparently not. She just said to stay well away from water with it....

    Dont tell Bernoulli that =P

  • Steven Roy05/03/2010 at 01:19

Don't fly from Paris to New York then cos those planes keep crashing. And you don't want to be in a plane crash because your arm will get wet

  • Bassano05/03/2010 at 01:19

BOOOOOO to people who retired Concorde.

Well, there's a few theories to that one

It could be the one's responsible for the Air France accident. Continental, I think, are to blame for debris on the runway

Or, the original manufcturers, BAe & Aerospatiale who no longer wanted to support it

Or some amateur pilots with naughty ideas on a chilling day one September

  • Steven Roy05/03/2010 at 01:19

    Dont tell Bernoulli that =P

    :D

  • me05/03/2010 at 01:20

    ?!

  • Bassano05/03/2010 at 01:20

    ?!

    9/11

  • Jim Newman05/03/2010 at 01:20

Well, there's a few theories to that one

Wasn't the aircraft just asininely expensive to run too?

  • Steven Roy05/03/2010 at 01:21

It could be the one's responsible for the Air France accident. Continental, I think, are to blame for debris on the runway

How many plane types go decades before there first accident?

Or, the original manufcturers, BAe & Aerospatiale who no longer wanted to support it

It was way out of date so I can see there difficulty

Or some amateur pilots with naughty ideas on a chilling day one September

That is a new one on me. Never heard this version before

  • Bassano05/03/2010 at 01:21

Wasn't the aircraft just asininely expensive to run too?

Yes, but it was also obscenely expensive to fly on

For BA, it made an operating profit, not to mention the PR and cache of a unique flagship

  • me05/03/2010 at 01:21

    ?!

    9/11

    ahh, totally threw me.

  • Alison05/03/2010 at 01:23

Don't fly from Paris to New York then cos those planes keep crashing. And you don't want to be in a plane crash because your arm will get wet

    Good advice!

  • Bassano05/03/2010 at 01:23

That is a new one on me. Never heard this version before

The downturn after 9/11 nearly stopped it in it's tracks. The market didn't really recover enough to recoup the amount of money spent on Kevlar Fuel Tank Liner modifications for the fleet

  • Steven Roy05/03/2010 at 01:23

    ?!

    9/11

    ahh, totally threw me.

Can't have a few plane loads of rich people blown up when a few plane loads of plebs are available?

  • Jim Newman05/03/2010 at 01:23

Yes, but it was also obscenely expensive to fly on

Was it feasible to run? The US govt shut down another aviation engineering masterpiece, the Blackbird, because it just made little sense to keep flying the plane.

  • Steven Roy05/03/2010 at 01:24

The downturn after 9/11 nearly stopped it in it's tracks. The market didn't really recover enough to recoup the amount of money spent on Kevlar Fuel Tank Liner modifications for the fleet

My first thought when I read your comment was a repeat of the Paris airshow Concordski but then I realised the accidents were totally different

  • Bassano05/03/2010 at 01:24

Can't have a few plane loads of rich people blown up when a few plane loads of plebs are available?

I think the Air France hull that was lost was a charter flight with once in a lifetime holidaymakers onboard, mostly

  • Bassano05/03/2010 at 01:25

Was it feasible to run? The US govt shut down another aviation engineering masterpiece, the Blackbird, because it just made little sense to keep flying the plane.

As I said, BA turned a tidy [though relatively small] profit

The Blackbird didn't have rich squillionaires queueing up to fly on it

  • Bassano05/03/2010 at 01:26

My first thought when I read your comment was a repeat of the Paris airshow Concordski but then I realised the accidents were totally different

Supposedly, French Air Force jets flying nearby

  • Jim Newman05/03/2010 at 01:27

The Blackbird didn't have rich squillionaires queueing up to fly on it

Right, I was just talking about practicality of the plane.

I had a chance to see one up close a while back as it's in the Smithsonian Air and Space museum, and I had no idea how big they were.

  • Bassano05/03/2010 at 01:28

The US govt shut down another aviation engineering masterpiece, the Blackbird, because it just made little sense to keep flying the plane.

Also, military spending never 'makes sense'

    It runs on paranoia

I had a chance to see one up close a while back as it's in the Smithsonian Air and Space museum, and I had no idea how big they were.

One, meaning Concorde. I guess one meaning Blackbird too, as they have one there also.

  • Jim Newman05/03/2010 at 01:28

Also, military spending never 'makes sense'

Tell me about it. They're talking about shutting down the F22. They just put that plane into service a while back =/

  • Bassano05/03/2010 at 01:29

I had a chance to see one up close a while back as it's in the Smithsonian Air and Space museum, and I had no idea how big they were.

I flew on the Concorde on it's last journey to Boeing's Museum of Flight at Everett, Seattle

hi all. ITS BACKSTREET DAY! :D

    ALRIGHT!!

  • Steven Roy05/03/2010 at 01:31

Supposedly, French Air Force jets flying nearby

I saw an investigation program into the accident. The airshow rules said that there was a box that no-one but whoever was showing at that time could enter for a fixed period. Nothing was allowed to take off for a certain time before the show period. They proved that one or two Frenech Air Force planes took off later than they should have and were seen in the box when the Concordski was in the air. The hypothesis was that as the Concordski pulled its nose up as high as it could the pilot spotted the fighter in the cloud and tried to manouvre away but was right on the limit of the plane's capacity at the time so it stalled and fell.

  • Jim Newman05/03/2010 at 01:31

I flew on the Concorde on it's last journey to Boeing's Museum of Flight at Everett, Seattle

At 60,000 there's not much concept of height

Did I miss a memo again?

You need one of those inflatable things to take the pressure off. Also useful when the plane crashes

Bassano is the man to ask about elbow raising

I think I have worked out how to stop wordpress from being hackable in a way which would work for me. But I am still very wary what with everything you've said and now my own experience there. (I could lock down access to wp-admin to a couple of static ips)

I don't even know if I could do go for odd with the encapsulation and so on on the hosted wordpress to make the podcast feed?

I don't even know if I could do go for odd with the encapsulation and so on on the hosted wordpress to make the podcast feed?

you could host the podcast somewhere like libsyn.com. that would give you an rss feed etc. more money though.

All I know is that I suddenly have a lot of work to do :(

same reason i'm still up at 6am :(

  • Alex Andronov05/03/2010 at 06:52

you could host the podcast somewhere like libsyn.com. that would give you an rss feed etc. more money though.

What I hate is that if you want to make it look nice and professional you want to have it all under one roof and under one domain. It always feels to me like the equivalent of having a .wordpress.com or a .blogspot.com

same reason i'm still up at 6am :(

As you've been proving for the last year the most frustrating part of it is that it takes away from the time you can spend on other creative activity.

And my cold? It never developed, but I am still fighting off the sore throat. It's turned a bit tickly now which is annoying, but I'm counting my lucky stars.

I'm pretty sure it was the orange juice that saved the day.

Mm, even though I am dead set against countdowns and what have you, I am almost looking forward to it :)

We're within the normal gap between races! I wasn't going to watch FP1 and 2 this year but for Bahrain I just have to, albeit I'm frustrated I can't do so live.

  • Pat W05/03/2010 at 09:41

Getting annoyed with Hotmail now. Much more spam getting through than before. I've had that as my main a/c since 1999 and I think it is time to ditch it.

I did - remember it's only a 1 hour drive to Sweden so we do it as a day trip.

Because my mate from Trinidad is involved, the planning goes like this:

"Hey, we going Skiiing this weekend?" "Cool"

Hopefully this guy is coming down to Spa with me but for various reasons, won't let me plan the trip yet...

I've just been asked an interesting question via FR.

    Description : Why is Nick Heidfeld not listed as a driver for BMW Sauber? {Comment #287}

I haven't seen any reserve drivers listed, so Nick, being in that category, wouldn't have been listed either.

  • Alianora La Canta05/03/2010 at 11:39

    I mean you obviously know htat but why don't they? :) {Comment #289}

Because the FIA doesn't have to assign reserves a number or count them in things like the four-driver regulation. From an administrative perspective, reserve drivers are only of interest to them for the purposes of total employee headcount (in the resource restriction), for CRB purposes and for whether they have a Superlicence. So the FIA just doesn't care about them quite as much as they do the race drivers.

  • Danny05/03/2010 at 11:40

I mean you obviously know htat but why don't they? :)

Maybe it was a question intended for the team principal? I'll forward it on, just in case :)

    Hello Amy :)

  • Amy05/03/2010 at 12:52

    Amy!!! Tell me everything.

THAT WAS AMAZING. Of all the shows I have ever been to I have never seen a crowd get so into it. Everyone was up dancing the whole time. My friend who I went with wasn't keen but she was quickly singing along and yelling and clapping. She said you can't deny that they are cheesy dancers but they are fantastic entertainers and put on a great show. I took a little clip of video from each song and some photos that didn't really turn out because I forgot to charge the batterys on my super zoomy camera so I had to use the other one :(

  • Christine05/03/2010 at 12:53

  • Amy05/03/2010 at 12:56

Woooooohoo! They weren't too crazy then?

oh there was a lot of screaming, especially everytime Nick sung, but it just felt right :D Here are some backstreet boys. Here is me partaking in the backstreet boys (as seen at the bottom right of the stage). I appear to not be looking at the camera. I think I was still drunk.

If you pick your favourite song from here I can upload some video :D

My only real complaint was they finished the show with I Want It That Way which got the place really pumping but then they did Straight Through My Heart as the encore and lots of people were standing there like 'oh I don't know this one' and it killed the mood a bit at the end.

  • Alison05/03/2010 at 12:58

Ford needed to be quick on the gravel because they've effectively focused on this and given up the tarmac to the Citroens.

The order in which they run the stages plays a big role here. Mikko is first on the stages and he clears the road from dust and some gravel making the stage quicker for the driver after him. So Petter and Ogier have ideal conditions while Mikko and Loeb to some extend suffer

  • jpancoast05/03/2010 at 16:31

This is very odd, though - Solberg and Ogier ahead of all the key players - what gives?

it is. Something must be seriously wrong with the factory fords.

True, but even so, it's rare for two non-team-leaders to be leading the way in a dry rally, no matter which point of the weekend.

Even if Loeb can claw back some of that time in the afternoon, 26 seconds is quite a bit of a gap to make up.

When Vijay Mallya arrived in the team, Phillips played his usual role but the Indian team owner was upset when some media turned to Phillips rather than listening to Mallya himself.

    that's a different take. interesting.

If this is true, there seems to be a bit of a trend with Mallya really being hands-on with the team. First Kolles and Gascoyne, then Phillips were sent packing. Let's see if it has any impact on their performance...

    ss4 (1,5 km)1. Ogier, 2. Loeb, 3. Solberg, 4. Sordo, 5. Kimi

Kimi on the same time as Sordo so =4th...

On WDC they sometimes show Kimi in front.....

I can see this will be another curse of the 2nd stage event....

Solberg is certainly kicking some booty!

Of course, I'm GUESSING the Solberg in question is Petter and not Henning.

That was an odd experience. Just did my shopping on line. The local Tesco has recently been knocked down & they built a new, larger store at the other end of the car park. Now they are telling me that everything in the store is "New!", including semi-skimmed milk, I'm sure they stocked that before ;)

  • Pat W05/03/2010 at 19:16

Good evening. I've been perusing the latest Autosport while listening to 6Music (thought I'd show it some love - Lamacq has still got it hasn't he?). Christine and Mr C may like to turn to page 38 where Edd Straw has a feature on the subject of fuel with lots of pics from Shell, though the quotes are from ExxonMobil. Just the 8 months after you. :)

I Was in Sainsburys earlier and found you could buy milk in a bag! A plastic sealed bag instead of a carton or bottle!! how wierd is that!

Interesting to see Ian Philips is leaving FIF1. Wonder if this means he is going to do more radio for the BBC.

Not too bad on SS5 for Kimi...

Faster than Villagra, BLOCK and even...

    Wilson...

So he'll be 8th and that stage on that basis...

The earlier problem on SS2 was a fuel pump that stopped working... Kimi and Kaj turned mechanic and sorted out the faulty lead but it took about 25 minutes to find....

    Apart from that he's been 10th SS1, 7th SS3, =4th SS4 and now 8th on SS5, which is effectively SS1 for the second time....

  • Steven Roy05/03/2010 at 19:30

5live said he won't be in the paddock, stuart thinks he miht be working with eddie and joe says he'd be useful to plenty of teams.

I have just left a comment on Stuart's blog saying that Philips off the leash would be good value for the beeb. He is one of the Jordan mavericks that led with the lip and said what they thought regardless of who didn't like it

    officially named "prat perch"

    Did Eddie Jordan invent that? ;) {Comment #369}

He might have invented the term, but the item itself pre-dates him.

  • Lady Snowcat05/03/2010 at 19:34

I thought he had a fuel tank problem

He hit a rock on the road on the first stage that damaged his steering... not sure if they fixed it in service or not...

In SS2 his fuel pump stopped working (possibly due to the rock "bang" but I don't know for sure) and they had to locate the issue with that before they could get going again....

    Force India has announced that director of business affairs Ian Phillips will leave the team after 19 years with the Silverstone-based squad. {Comment #398}

This has been a while coming. However good Ian is as a commercial manager/second-in-command type, I don't think his position in Force India ever recovered from the crime of prophesising out loud in September. Good luck to Ian in whatever role he takes on next - he was invaluable to Jordan and its successors.

He disappeared very soon after that (it was Belgium I think) - I remember about a week later a story saying he was suspended/not going to any of the races afterwards

Yes it was Belgium as he said Fisi would be off to Ferrari...

He was right and we soon realised that Fisi was wrong... to go....

Apparently driving the Ferrari made him look 10 years older....

  • Lady Snowcat05/03/2010 at 19:45

Reading the autosport report he set his 7th place in SS3 without changing tyres as well as wonky steering...

Who do you support in Mexico...

  • Steven Roy05/03/2010 at 20:57

Hirvonen 8 seconds slower than Loeb in SS7

  • Lady Snowcat05/03/2010 at 20:59

Hirvonen 8 seconds slower than Loeb in SS7

Now over a minute in total...

But how far in front will Petter be and will Ogier and Sordo end up in front of Mr Loeb to road sweep...

Maybe Petter is likely to do so well in that role they'll not worry about getting Loeb behind Sordo...

  • Lady Snowcat05/03/2010 at 21:00

Loeb will be in front of Sordo...

  • Lady Snowcat05/03/2010 at 21:03

you get a few of the teams and we can keep some, if you reduce the waiting time so a week?

    Is it a sliding scale?

Would McLaren moving over here be worth all three weeks? Or could we combine teams like Williams and Virgin combining to be worth three weeks?

  • Alison05/03/2010 at 22:21

    Home sweet home :D

  • Lady Snowcat05/03/2010 at 22:21

Apparently Kimi rolled 6 times ...

Hoping he can still take part tomorrow....

He was looking like being 6th on SS7 per the final split and rolled in the last section...

The others are doing the 2 Super Special stages....

  • guille230605/03/2010 at 22:22

    You still mostly 'armless?

  • Steven Roy05/03/2010 at 22:23

  • Alison05/03/2010 at 22:24

    You still mostly 'armless?

Someone bashed into me today like full on. I think I'd rather have it chopped off than feel that kind of pain again.... Yeah that's made it super achy again although it had stopped hurting.

  • Jon Waldock05/03/2010 at 22:25

Apparently Kimi rolled 6 times ...

i hope he had his cap in his car. that would make me happy

  • Lady Snowcat05/03/2010 at 22:26

    Whaaaaaaat??

    'fraid so... from wrc.com...

The accident happened 17.5km into the 18.87km stage, on a downhill section littered with hairpin corners.

They won't know if can carry on tomorrow until they get the car back to the service park...

I'm hoping he can and hasn't messed up his back...

That's the way to go though really. Less work, more money. I swear it only gets more exaggerated the higher up the chain you get....

  • Alex Andronov05/03/2010 at 22:34

    do you fix it?

I'm working on a good perminant solution. This self hosted wordpress rubbish is the worst thing i've ever seen. And trust me i've seen a lot of stupid solutions to problems.

  • Pat W05/03/2010 at 22:34

This self hosted wordpress rubbish is the worst thing i've ever seen.

    welcome to my world.

  • Alison05/03/2010 at 22:39

I'm not a slacker! I do way more than my fair share of "unpleasant" shifts. There are just some things I don't like to do and now I can delegate them away....

  • Lady Snowcat05/03/2010 at 22:39

you give them either very bad luck or very good luck, depending on how you look at it

Well it's really Kimi and as I was at 8 of his Ferrari wins I don't think I've done too bad for him....

I knew Jari Matti was a bit fast... and he smiled at me in Sweden... how could I not support him...

  • Alianora La Canta05/03/2010 at 23:00

    Hey Alia .. what's the proper link for your blog please {Comment #541}

Sorry I missed this earlier, Jackie.

My blog is at http://www.lacantablog.co.uk , but due to how the address system works, it converts any specified page within the blog to http://formula1home.com.au/forum/weblog_entry.php?e=xxx , where the "xxx" at the end is a number. (Formula 1 Home is the forum that hosts the blog).

My wiki is at http://www.lacantablog.com .

Most of the entries I write appear at both, but a few can't be made to work on the blog and a comment that appears at one will not be visible at the other.

  • Jon Waldock05/03/2010 at 23:03

Best opening line to a blog post ever?

    http://thelaptimes.blogspot.com/2010/02/how-to-launch-f1-car.html

"It’s February, the beginning of a motorsports season (unless of course you’re A1GP, which you’re not, because you actually exist)..."

  • Alianora La Canta05/03/2010 at 23:05

    Well it's really Kimi and as I was at 8 of his Ferrari wins I don't think I've done too bad for him.... {Comment #667}

Now that is a good strike rate, given that Kimi only won 9 times for Ferrari. Maybe he should hire you to accompany him as his chief supporter and then he'll steamroller the opposition...

  • Turkey Machine05/03/2010 at 23:23

That being said, I've been sat here for the last 20 minutes with my mind absolutely blown to smitherines by it. It's unexplainable.

Piece it back together and go to bed like a good little Lukeh. :P

  • Steven Roy05/03/2010 at 23:23

no lurking for you, birthday girl :P

    A birthday?

  • Turkey Machine05/03/2010 at 23:24

On that tired bombshell, I'm hitting the sack. Looooooooooooong day's culminated in the longest tech support session ever: with family! Always the best...

Night guys. Might leave a voicemail tomorrow if I can remember what I was gonna say!

  • lou05/03/2010 at 23:24

Oh Mr C! Thank you for the email! :)

  • emily05/03/2010 at 23:25

no lurking for you, birthday girl :P

Oh dear, and that passed through Mrs C's superb calendar and the wiki?

  • RG05/03/2010 at 23:26

Hey Em and SB and cheerio TM.

These two letter names are gonna get confusing soon...

  • startledbunny05/03/2010 at 23:26

If any of you guys own a PS3, I can't stress enough that you need to make Heavy Rain an essential purchase. You just do. It's an absolute milestone in story telling for a game...

The demo put me off a bit. It reminded me of Parappa the Rapper, as in pressing the right buttons at the right time. Was impressed with the fight in the hotel though.

  • guille230605/03/2010 at 23:26

    hey everybody :)

    hi

  • emily05/03/2010 at 23:26

yes.. someone is now legally able to buy drinks... :P

i don't think i quite had to order the whole cocktail menu though.

The demo put me off a bit. It reminded me of Parappa the Rapper, as in pressing the right buttons at the right time. Was impressed with the fight in the hotel though.

You don't really get into the characters and the story through the demo though. It feels more like a tech demo to me that. As a fullu flegdged game and as you develop your story (it'll be different for everyone based on what choices you make) the emotional attachment to everyone and everything involved is staggering.

  • startledbunny05/03/2010 at 23:28

These two letter names are gonna get confusing soon...

    but easier to type

  • Steven Roy05/03/2010 at 23:28

Sounds like my kind of game. It'll have to wait a couple of months, I pre-ordered GTA4 Episodes, that will take up some of my time to finish.

  • lou05/03/2010 at 23:30

    ooooooooooooooh dear.

    ooooooooooooooh dear.

You are allowed to drink under 18 in the presence of an adult, I believe.

If you come more often we will have more stuff to throw at you. At least you didn't think the film was directed by Tim Henman

  • guille230605/03/2010 at 23:34

    ever.

are you talking about a party at williams? (runs...)

you need to do something more outrageous.

  • RG05/03/2010 at 23:34

    ever.

Its amazini that really. The main thing to remember is never say a thing, like ever, about what you have done.

Yeah I've noticed people don't tend to forget things.

maybe we should start a new thing where we don't endlessly rib other people's drunken misbehaviours....

...that would be a bit boring though. ;P

  • lou05/03/2010 at 23:35

would that mean i would have to stop saying 'amazini'? because i think it could catch on :P

  • Steven Roy05/03/2010 at 23:37

maybe we should start a new thing where we don't endlessly rib other people's drunken misbehaviours....

To be fair most of the misbehaviours we wind up people about happened when they were sober. For example if someone told you not to put something behind a door with a combination lock would you put all you recording equipment behind the door just before Joe went on stage?

  • Steven Roy05/03/2010 at 23:37

    It is an amazini word

Probably yes. I've locked Car Keys in a car before now.

What was even more disturbing was that someone stopped in their car to help me break back in without even asking me if it was my car.

    Just catching up with comments....

    Jenson and crisps?

Not the healthy dietary choice of a sportstar at his peak fitness is it?

    but... JLS??

it's bad times. Poor Jenson, at least it isn't as bad as some of the stuff Lewis has done.

it says to me, button isn't quite famous enough.

Button is famous.. to me.... :D

This reminds me, today while waiting for the film i was hoping and praying to see the bbc f1 advert on the big screen.... but i didn't. Then got upset cause they didn't show it. I confuse myself.

    Hi Five to the BBC,

    Spelling Fail

    Why?

weak twisting action with screw top bottles. :/

  • Bassano06/03/2010 at 00:09
