We are halfway through the week now, and it seems as though things are getting nasty in the world of F1. Piquet's having a go at Renault, Ferrari are having a go at Williams, who's next? Meanwhile, here at Sidepodcast, we're being nice to each other! Here are some of the topics we're talking about:

  • F1.com have a round up of what the drivers will be doing over their summer holidays. My favourite thing about this post is that I have now learned Fisichella has a boat called Fizzy!
  • Pat wrote a post yesterday to celebrate the one year anniversary of his home on the web. It's always interesting to look back at where you started, and see how far you've come, so here's to Pat and bring on the next year!
  • On the blogging subject, Maverick has written an excellent post (with added graphs!) about the state of overtaking in Formula 1 at the moment. You probably know plenty about how little overtaking there is, but Maverick makes some great points along the way.
  • We also have more information about the inaugural F1 Rocks concert which will take place at Singapore. The silly Black Eyed Peas and Beyonce are taking the headlines away from Backstreet Boys, who are heading up the concerts organised by the circuit themselves. Grr.

That'll do it for now. If you've been following the safari park saga (no pandas, pah!), then the photos are finally up. I will see you in the comments.

    Sounds paint-scratchingly good. Which oval?

You should do a sidepodradio animal show.

  • lou04/08/2009 at 23:14

You should do a sidepodradio animal show.

i can't do a sidepodradio show.. i go away on holiday on the 16th. plus i wouldn't know what to say other than 'aww aren't tigers adorable'... 'awww look at the elephants!'....'aww i love monkeys'... it could get boring..

  • Bassano Clapper04/08/2009 at 23:16

Is there a revised date for SPRadio?

  • lou04/08/2009 at 23:16

Is there a revised date for SPRadio?

steven said the 16th the other day i believe?..

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:17

Is there a revised date for SPRadio?

i'm saying nothing. i'll just get into trouble (again).

  • Bassano Clapper04/08/2009 at 23:17

steven said the 16th the other day i believe?..

Do Christine & Mr C know of this? :)

  • Bassano Clapper04/08/2009 at 23:17

i'm saying nothing. i'll just get into trouble (again).

    Fair enough

  • Nick04/08/2009 at 23:18

Going back though the old F1 big pictures it seems williams havent been happy with FOTA's proposals for a while.

I guess this spat has been-a-brewing

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:18

Do Christine & Mr C know of this? :)

i did, yes. i may have not relayed that information as well as i perhaps should have.

  • lou04/08/2009 at 23:18

i'm saying nothing. i'll just get into trouble (again).

    oh... okay..

  • lou04/08/2009 at 23:19

i did, yes. i may have not relayed that information as well as i perhaps should have.

i thought you emailed important stuff to Christine during the day so you didn't forget ;)

  • Lukeh04/08/2009 at 23:19

I guess this spat has been-a-brewing

I think Williams should've just replied with their own press statement, simply saying 'lol.'

  • Bassano Clapper04/08/2009 at 23:19

Well, they did get kicked out

Essentially, because they were skint and had no other choice

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:19

i thought you emailed important stuff to Christine during the day so you didn't forget ;)

we were on hiatus. i may have had a drink (or two). your honor.

    could get boring..

You could pre-record it. Finding enough stuff to say is a bit more difficult though but you could put a lot of photos on the video feed and everyone would be so busy making awww noises to listen to you.

  • Bassano Clapper04/08/2009 at 23:20

we were on hiatus. i may have had a drink (or two). your honor.

    Wasn't me

    [Just saying]

  • Nick04/08/2009 at 23:20

Well, they did get kicked out

They werent happy with the FOTA proposals on wind tunnels back in February either...

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:21

    Wasn't me

    [Just saying]

    :)

  • Steven Roy04/08/2009 at 23:21

Is there a revised date for SPRadio?

I am working on it being the 16th until Christine beats me up again. To make this happen there needs to be a deadline and until I am over-ruled that is it.

  • Nick04/08/2009 at 23:21

I think Williams should've just replied with their own press statement, simply saying 'lol.'

Air traffic was hectic around the Grove factory today...

  • Steven Roy04/08/2009 at 23:21

i'm saying nothing. i'll just get into trouble (again).

    You too?

  • Lukeh04/08/2009 at 23:21

They werent happy with the FOTA proposals on wind tunnels back in February either...

Are they even happy that FOTA exists?!

  • Bassano Clapper04/08/2009 at 23:22

Funnily enough I got that impression earlier when Christine expressed a degree of surprise.

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:22

Are they even happy that FOTA exists?!

here's a question for you... are we?

what have fota ever done for us?

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:23

Funnily enough I got that impression earlier when Christine expressed a degree of surprise.

it's been a hectic couple of days :)

  • Nick04/08/2009 at 23:23

Are they even happy that FOTA exists?!

I suspect frank thinks he should be in charge, or at least deputy...

  • Lukeh04/08/2009 at 23:23

what have fota ever done for us?

they made a really stupid logo for us to joke about

  • Bassano Clapper04/08/2009 at 23:23

Are they even happy that FOTA exists?!

here's a question for you... are we?

what have fota ever done for us?

We'd have a two-tier format next year if not for FOTA

  • Nick04/08/2009 at 23:23

what have fota ever done for us?

Well they did complain about the circuits not being all that sensible, and they beat up on max...

  • lou04/08/2009 at 23:24

what have fota ever done for us?

they fought Max on the two tier thing didn't they?

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:24

I suspect frank thinks he should be in charge, or at least deputy...

i don't think it's that at all. he's wasn't even williams' representative was he?

  • Steven Roy04/08/2009 at 23:24

what have fota ever done for us?

They got the Concorde Agreement signed and tied Max's hands and his successor's.

I think FOTA has been a success.

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:24

they fought Max on the two tier thing didn't they?

that was never a serious proposition. it was a starting point for a discussion.

  • lou04/08/2009 at 23:24

what have fota ever done for us?

they helped Brawn get Brawn GP up and running?...

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:24

Well they did complain about the circuits not being all that sensible, and they beat up on max...

    what have they achieved?

  • Steven Roy04/08/2009 at 23:25

i don't think it's that at all. he's wasn't even williams' representative was he?

Adam Parr was at the meetings.

  • Nick04/08/2009 at 23:25

i don't think it's that at all. he's wasn't even williams' representative was he?

I think had he been offered a place in the top 2 he would have been much more involved...

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:25

They got the Concorde Agreement signed and tied Max's hands and his successor's.

but have the people who signed aren't even in fota?

  • Pat W04/08/2009 at 23:25

what have fota ever done for us?

I have a feeling you're about to get a load of responses the same way as the Romans question...

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:25

but have the people who signed aren't even in fota?

    *half.

  • Pat W04/08/2009 at 23:25

I suspect frank thinks he should be in charge, or at least deputy...

    I agree. He should be.

  • Steven Roy04/08/2009 at 23:25

that was never a serious proposition. it was a starting point for a discussion.

I think it was a serious suggestion.

  • Bassano Clapper04/08/2009 at 23:25

they fought Max on the two tier thing didn't they?

that was never a serious proposition. it was a starting point for a discussion.

I don't think there would have been a discussion if FOTA didn't exist

  • Pat W04/08/2009 at 23:26

i don't think it's that at all. he's wasn't even williams' representative was he?

No he wasn't, I believe it was Adam Parr

  • Lukeh04/08/2009 at 23:26

they fought Max on the two tier thing didn't they?

They got the Concorde Agreement signed and tied Max's hands and his successor's.

We'd have a two-tier format next year if not for FOTA

they made a really stupid logo for us to joke about

I think I know which one is the most important there :)

  • Nick04/08/2009 at 23:26

They got the Concorde Agreement signed and tied Max's hands and his successor's.

This is true, i dont think the FIA will be anywhere near as involved in the future.

  • Bassano Clapper04/08/2009 at 23:26

I think I know which one is the most important there :)

they made a really stupid logo for us to joke about

  • Jeremy04/08/2009 at 23:27

    what have they achieved?

#maxout is at least seeming more likely than ever before? They have brought me joy

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:27

They got the Concorde Agreement signed and tied Max's hands and his successor's.

do we know that? or are we assuming that?

  • Steven Roy04/08/2009 at 23:27

but have the people who signed aren't even in fota?

Look at how long we have gone without a CA and within a sesaon of FOTA being established and a bit of trust being built between the teams we have a new CA

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:27

#maxout is at least seeming more likely than ever before? They have brought me joy

    #jeanin ?

    #jeanin ?

    :o

    bad mr c

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:28

Look at how long we have gone without a CA and within a sesaon of FOTA being established and a bit of trust being built between the teams we have a new CA

i agree that they trust each other. they are watching their own backs for certain.

i'll repeat the question... what have done for us?

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:29

    bad mr c

    just sayin'

  • lou04/08/2009 at 23:29

    #jeanin ?

    nooooooo.

    #Ariwillwin ;)

  • Steven Roy04/08/2009 at 23:29

do we know that? or are we assuming that?

We know that the F1 commission has been re-established and their is now a procedure for modifying rules so we won't have Max inventing rules on the fly because he got out the wrong side of the bed.

  • Lukeh04/08/2009 at 23:29

    just sayin'

I think you should watch this to get back to your sense ;)

  • Bassano Clapper04/08/2009 at 23:29

i'll repeat the question... what have done for us?

Not made it as bad as it coulda been?

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:30

Not made it as bad as it coulda been?

how much worse could it have been?

  • lou04/08/2009 at 23:30

i'll repeat the question... what have done for us?

helped brawn survive therefore helping all the brawn/jenson/rubens fans out there ;)

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:30

I think you should watch this to get back to your sense ;)

    :)

  • Bassano Clapper04/08/2009 at 23:30

how much worse could it have been?

    I would tell ya but...

YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH! :)

  • Lukeh04/08/2009 at 23:31

helped brawn survive therefore helping all the brawn/jenson/rubens fans out there ;)

this is true!! If it werent for FOTA helping out my poor Rubens would be back in Brazil with no awesome car

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:31

helped brawn survive therefore helping all the brawn/jenson/rubens fans out there ;)

    i'll give you that. yes.

slim shady could've been in charge.

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:31

YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH! :)

    rats.

  • Steven Roy04/08/2009 at 23:32

how much worse could it have been?

A lot worse. We could have had a two tier championship. We could have Max making stuff up on a whim. I think things could have got really nasty.

  • Nick04/08/2009 at 23:32

We know that the F1 commission has been re-established and their is now a procedure for modifying rules so we won't have Max inventing rules on the fly because he got out the wrong side of the bed.

I think the teams pretty much locked themselves of from the FIA. This is better for bernie as it gives him more power too.

The true test will come next winter though

  • lou04/08/2009 at 23:32

    i'll give you that. yes.

:D FOTA rock! just cause they saved me from alot more heart ache :D

  • Nick04/08/2009 at 23:33

slim shady could've been in charge.

    Whom?

  • Steven Roy04/08/2009 at 23:33

YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH! :)

The truth is a bit close to facts for my liking and everyone knows facts is cheating.

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:33

    Whom?

    guy with the... massive... chopper.

it's not important, really, as you were.

  • Jeremy04/08/2009 at 23:33

    #jeanin ?

    #arivatenin?

  • Bassano Clapper04/08/2009 at 23:33

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:37

but they might have come up with a better livery?

    what's wrong with their livery?

    nothing. nothing at all.

  • Lukeh04/08/2009 at 23:38

but they might have come up with a better livery?

    BUT ITS SO LOVELY

Have you seen it in person? It's so... brawn!!

  • Bassano Clapper04/08/2009 at 23:38

    what's wrong with their livery?

Do we need to do the highlighter pen thing again?

  • Pat W04/08/2009 at 23:38

White car with a stripe on it? C'mon..

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:38

i have. and yes it really is.

  • Nick04/08/2009 at 23:39

Do we need to do the highlighter pen thing again?

There was a lot of doubters on the old panels...

  • Steven Roy04/08/2009 at 23:40

    #CHEAT ?

I wouldn't use that sort of language about anyone here

  • lou04/08/2009 at 23:40

    nothing. nothing at all.

:D that's the correct answer ;) it's much nicer when you see it in real life... as opposed to on the tv.

also i had a thought the other day.. is the yellow reflective? if so that may look pretty cool in singapore :)

  • lou04/08/2009 at 23:40

Do we need to do the highlighter pen thing again?

    :(

  • Lukeh04/08/2009 at 23:40

Me and lou stood there for ages at goodwood just admiring it. Even the truck is awesome!!

:D that's the correct answer ;) it's much nicer when you see it in real life... as opposed to on the tv.

I thought the new aero regs look nicer in person, on a static car anyway. I'm not sold on a white car with a stripe on it as counting as a colour scheme.

  • Pat W04/08/2009 at 23:42

Me and lou stood there for ages at goodwood just admiring it. Even the truck is awesome!!

    I did like the truck..

  • lou04/08/2009 at 23:42

well.. it's better than Renault's... i have to admit i do prefer the red bull livery, but the Brawn is my second favourite :)

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:43

    well.. it's better than Renault's...

    sad but true :(

  • Bassano Clapper04/08/2009 at 23:43

well.. it's better than Renault's... i have to admit i do prefer the red bull livery, but the Brawn is my second favourite :)

Wow, that may make it into the press tomorrow ;)

  • lou04/08/2009 at 23:43

    sad but true :(

i loved the blue renault livery... and even the first creme egg livery, just not this years :(

  • Nick04/08/2009 at 23:43

    sad but true :(

Why is it sad... it highlights flav's lack of taste even more...

  • Bassano Clapper04/08/2009 at 23:44

    well.. it's better than Renault's...

    sad but true :(

It's not their fault tht the McDonald's sponsorshi[p is a secret

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:44

i used to like the blue and white.

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:44

or blue and yellow and white.

  • Steven Roy04/08/2009 at 23:44

well.. it's better than Renault's... i have to admit i do prefer the red bull livery, but the Brawn is my second favourite :)

You could throw random tins of paint at a wall and come up with something better than Renault

  • lou04/08/2009 at 23:44

Wow, that may make it into the press tomorrow ;)

i've been known to like other things over Brawn :P it does happen... very occasionally... and i do feel a little guilty.. but it's true the red bull livery is nicer, the brawn car however is prettier.

  • Nick04/08/2009 at 23:45

i used to like the blue and white.

that is true, but its not as if blue is an under-represented colour these days...

  • Bassano Clapper04/08/2009 at 23:45

You could throw random tins of paint at a wall and come up with something better than Renault

    Just ask Toyota

  • Lukeh04/08/2009 at 23:45

I can't explain it. There is just something about the look that I just love about it. It doesn't need to be overcomplicated and it's just simple, it doesn't need to have sponsors plastered all over it like a nascar dream, it just needs to be pure and white. It is Brawn... it's just something completely shocking that noone expected and now I've just grown to absolutely love how it looks with the black and yellow flowing down the car and everything about it. Plus now it has a bit of red from the Virgin logo :D

It's just awesome. I refuse to stand down on how much I love the livery.

  • Nick04/08/2009 at 23:45

    Just ask Toyota

    ...or that winfield williams

  • lou04/08/2009 at 23:45

You could throw random tins of paint at a wall and come up with something better than Renault

:( how could they go from amazing one season to shocking the next :(

  • Bassano Clapper04/08/2009 at 23:46

    ...or that winfield williams

    Eeeesh!

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:46

It doesn't need to be overcomplicated and it's just simple, it doesn't need to have sponsors plastered all over it like a nascar dream

it kinda does. purely from a sustainability point of view.

  • Nick04/08/2009 at 23:46

It's just awesome. I refuse to stand down on how much I love the livery.

I like it, i just hope they keep it like ferrari have done with the red and not flip though the colour spectrum on a sponsors whim like williams

  • Lukeh04/08/2009 at 23:46

    ...or that winfield williams

    NOOOOOOO

  • Lukeh04/08/2009 at 23:46

it kinda does. purely from a sustainability point of view.

    shhhhhhhhhhh. don't ruin my logic!

  • Steven Roy04/08/2009 at 23:47

    Just ask Toyota

I had a nosebleed a few weeks ago. Every hanky looked like a Toyota

  • Pat W04/08/2009 at 23:47

It's just awesome. I refuse to stand down on how much I love the livery.

or.. they had no sponsors to speak of, no time to work on a design in the rush between buyout and season start, so they came up with something basic ready for a title sponsor that never came...

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:47

    shhhhhhhhhhh. don't ruin my logic!

    apologies. carry on.

  • lou04/08/2009 at 23:47

i'm with mr c on the sponsors thing... they need sponsors, i wish they'd signed a title sponsor at the beginning of the season tbh

  • Bassano Clapper04/08/2009 at 23:47

I had a nosebleed a few weeks ago. Every hanky looked like a Toyota

I think Ross was stoned during the JPS Lotus years and this is his acid inspired take on it. Lots of white so it appears an homage rather than copying

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:48

    ...or that winfield williams

the bar "zipper" was worse though?

  • lou04/08/2009 at 23:48

I can't imagine many major sponsors being happy with white and highlighter

  • Bassano Clapper04/08/2009 at 23:49

i'm with mr c on the sponsors thing... they need sponsors, i wish they'd signed a title sponsor at the beginning of the season tbh

Or 3 or 4 races in, to bump up the price

  • Bassano Clapper04/08/2009 at 23:49

    Rymans?

  • Steven Roy04/08/2009 at 23:49

Maybe h is colour blind and thinks it's black.

  • lou04/08/2009 at 23:50

Or 3 or 4 races in, to bump up the price

yeah i wasn't meaning in melbourne.. just when they were on they were winning every race :) not they they wont be winning again...

  • Steven Roy04/08/2009 at 23:50

    Rymans?

I can't see Theo spending that amount of money on F1.

  • lou04/08/2009 at 23:50

a blank canvas.... lots of white means lots of space for their advertising ;)

  • Steven Roy04/08/2009 at 23:52

a blank canvas.... lots of white means lots of space for their advertising ;)

Lots of yellow highlighter pen is going to clash with everything

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:53

Lots of yellow highlighter pen is going to clash with everything

    dynorod?

  • lou04/08/2009 at 23:54

Lots of yellow highlighter pen is going to clash with everything

to be fair it's not lots... and even if the colours do clash it will make the sponsors more visible to the audience on the tv and stuff, meaning it will grab the audiences attention :D

  • Lukeh04/08/2009 at 23:54

a blank canvas.... lots of white means lots of space for their advertising ;)

I'm just gonna get a black marker and write on it 'Well I like this car - LUKE'

    ...'PS rUbens rocks'

  • Nick04/08/2009 at 23:54

the bar "zipper" was worse though?

I liked that, it didnt need the zipper, but the split colours were quite unique

  • Bassano Clapper04/08/2009 at 23:55

I liked that, it didnt need the zipper, but the split colours were quite unique

And a clever route around the two cars with the same livery rule

  • Steven Roy04/08/2009 at 23:55

to be fair it's not lots... and even if the colours do clash it will make the sponsors more visible to the audience on the tv and stuff, meaning it will grab the audiences attention :D

Nice theory but branding people like everything to go together without clashing.

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:55

And a clever route around the two cars with the same livery rule

    you say clever...

  • Bassano Clapper04/08/2009 at 23:56

    you say clever...

    I didn't say nice

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:56

    I didn't say nice

    fair point.

  • lou04/08/2009 at 23:58

Nice theory but branding people like everything to go together without clashing.

*thinks up another defence*... well.. i'm sure Brawn would be willing to negotiate on the amount of yellow... plus the brawn is far too quick to be able to see anything but a blur... the clashing colours would be best :P

  • me04/08/2009 at 23:58

Nice theory but branding people like everything to go together without clashing.

    except for lucky strike?

  • Nick04/08/2009 at 23:59

I wouldnt mind a brawn 'tribute' to that livery next year with a half black and yellow, and half white and yellow car next year!

  • Steven Roy05/08/2009 at 00:00

*thinks up another defence*... well.. i'm sure Brawn would be willing to negotiate on the amount of yellow... plus the brawn is far too quick to be able to see anything but a blur... the clashing colours would be best :P

Great defence with one minor chink. If I was going to sponsor an F1 team why would I sponsor one that went so fast no-one could see my logo and were only going to see a blur?

  • Lukeh05/08/2009 at 00:01

Great defence with one minor chink. If I was going to sponsor an F1 team why would I sponsor one that went so fast no-one could see my logo and were only going to see a blur?

Oh so thats why Minardi looked like a NASCAR's younger brother

  • Steven Roy05/08/2009 at 00:01

    except for lucky strike?

Lucky Strike's branding is neat. The only problem they had is that BAR didn't know the rules and BAT wanted to advertise two brands.

  • me05/08/2009 at 00:02

i did like the racing revolution branding.

because the logos would clash with the yellow, so they could be seen... kinda.. and the team are grabbing all the headlines, it would become common knowledge as to who were sponsoring them. plus with them doing so well a title sponsor would get the 'vodafone' treatment i'm sure.. with the drivers saying '{insert title sponsor here} Brawn GP or something ;)

  • Nick05/08/2009 at 00:04

i did like the racing revolution branding.

Shame they forgot to have the revolution though...

The 555 branding they used for china was cool though...

  • me05/08/2009 at 00:05

not sure the drivers could carry of the race suits could they?

The race suits look better than the car! If they'd done the car all blue like the rally car, that would've been sweeeet

    what on earth??

    what on earth??

That year they were allowed to run a different livery on the Friday car for commercial reasons, so Davidson did. I can't remember if the race cars did?

  • Steven Roy05/08/2009 at 00:12

    hehe, i forgot about that!

I still associate 555 with rallying Subarus

  • me05/08/2009 at 00:12

no, no. the earth car was this one:

I have forgotten all these special liveries...

now I feel rubbish like a rubbish fan :(

  • lou05/08/2009 at 00:16

okay... so i've just seen a photo on the brawn site (which may be one of my home page tabs...) and i think it proves that reflective paint is the way to go for Brawn GP for the Singapore GP.

Also.. when did drop.io seems to have changed a bit...

  • lou05/08/2009 at 00:16

now I feel rubbish like a rubbish fan :(

i only remember them cause of this post... tis a great post :D

that doesn't even make sense :(

okay... so i've just seen a photo on the brawn site (which may be one of my home page tabs...) and i think it proves that reflective paint is the way to go for Brawn GP for the Singapore GP.

Yeah they should all have reflective bits on the cars for Singapore!

IndyCar and sportscar teams do it and it looks fantastic, I'd love to see it on F1 cars.

  • Steven Roy05/08/2009 at 00:17

Yeah they did just for china... Teams can change their liveries for film sponsors e.t.c...

They can change from race to race but both cars must be the same. If I remember correctly 555 is a much bigger seller in China so the whole car went to that brand.

  • Lukeh05/08/2009 at 00:18

Nooooooooo Ive just realised... with no Piquet that means we won't get at leats one guaranteed spin per weekend of F1 :(

Jaime didn't spin once in Hungary.

  • Lukeh05/08/2009 at 00:20

Kaz?... i don't know why i think he isn't a great driver. i hardly notice him in gps anymore...

I'm hoping Kubica starts getting loose and goes a bit silly to get some attention now he needs a drive. Just do a couple a'donuts or something on the grid at the start. Yeah noone will have him after that (perhaps Jordan if they returned) but it'd be something!

  • me05/08/2009 at 00:21

I refuse to call him that :)

    you has a better suggestion?

  • lou05/08/2009 at 00:21

Jaime didn't spin once in Hungary.

He's almost as good as tim

  • Bassano Clapper05/08/2009 at 00:22

The fake F1 tweeters call him Bob

I prefer Hymie, it makes him sound like a Jewish lawyer and that makes me laugh

  • Nick05/08/2009 at 00:22

    you has a better suggestion?

    What happened to Jimmy Superaguri?

  • Bassano Clapper05/08/2009 at 00:23

  • lou05/08/2009 at 00:26

i prefer Jaime Alguersuari ... sounds nicer.. :D and Tim is less complicated... but i suppose Jimbob is an alright name...

  • Lukeh05/08/2009 at 00:26

Sounds like he should be in Talladega Nights

You know, it only occured to me when he left F1 that the french character is a charicature of Bourdais in that film...

to me it showed how music truly is a universal language. As he says, anyqwhere he goes, instantly the crowd get it. And everyone in the audience got it together instantly! Quite remarkable.

Especially the first time he went to the first new note. You would think people would just stop.

It's genius because I had to put my headset on to hear the video and now I can hear the scissors again.

:D Mr C can cross that off his list then :)

But everyone knew what to do - that was a genius idea that worked very well.

i guess the crowd are visualising the scale in their minds eye and interpreting the correct pitch. i was doing the same by the end of it. can't explain it mind you.

  • me05/08/2009 at 01:18

Yep! I'm getting pretty excited about it. If I get any more music I might suck up that 14:30 slot, too. Would that be so bad?

  • Nick05/08/2009 at 01:18

you remember the scene in the film "big", right? where they play "heart and soul" on the keyboard, on the floor, by jumping on it?

imagine a massive keyboard on stage...

i guess the crowd are visualising the scale in their minds eye and interpreting the correct pitch. i was doing the same by the end of it. can't explain it mind you.

I can understand how it works for the fifth or six note because a pattern has been established and we are programmed for pattern recognition. I have no idea how they get the third note though.

  • lou05/08/2009 at 01:22

imagine a massive keyboard on stage...

there was an amazing installation on south bank once that was a huge keyboard on the floor, you could do what he is doing and jump from one to the other :D it was so much fun :)

  • me05/08/2009 at 01:22

I can understand how it works for the fifth or six note because a pattern has been established and we are programmed for pattern recognition. I have no idea how they get the third note though.

agreed. i didn't get it that fast by a long shot.

i guess you need a crowd?

  • Steven Roy05/08/2009 at 01:23

Yep! I'm getting pretty excited about it. If I get any more music I might suck up that 14:30 slot, too. Would that be so bad?

  • Steven Roy05/08/2009 at 01:24

agreed. i didn't get it that fast by a long shot.

i guess you need a crowd?

When he went to the third note I was clueless and amazed anyone made any noise.

  • Nikki05/08/2009 at 01:24

i guess the crowd are visualising the scale in their minds eye and interpreting the correct pitch. i was doing the same by the end of it. can't explain it mind you.

Most cultures have an understanding of the pentatonic scale. Less so in western cultures -- we've had do-re-mi banged in instead, but the pentatonic scale is at the heart of most genres beside pop and rock (Jazz_. So we're just used to it. Pattern recognition and extrapolation. :)

  • Nick05/08/2009 at 01:25

you remember the scene in the film "big", right? where they play "heart and soul" on the keyboard, on the floor, by jumping on it?

    Yes i loved it!

Problem is i cant help thinking about all sorts of things i have been taught about freedom and free choice. Things i didnt realy want to belive were true...

I can shut it all out though *la la la big piano man* then it sounds incredible!

  • Nikki05/08/2009 at 01:26

I thought you didn't have enough time for one show?

Yeah, I didn't. But now I have help. Editing help. And music. And a plan. Yay startledbunny!

Indeed. We need to get him on! ;)

  • Nick05/08/2009 at 01:31

Why does it bug you so much, Nick?

well it doesnt ... ok it does. but i dont want it too.

It is a hard concept to explain. i see it as a social science experiment.

when people do something like that en masse, it shows how little free will is really at play. they follow unsaid instructions without question and without thinking about it. in essence they are submitting to leadership without any knowledge or awareness of the fact.

I am being silly. It is fun mr piano man... you wont convince me otherwise!

Bit of a bizarre story on grandprix.com today?

I thought it was odd too.

Either it's referring to F1 and America's Cup mirroring each other - first Valencia now the UAE or it's referring to Bernie's preoccupation with moving eastwards after the money or it's a reference to BMW blowing millions on a boat. Take your pick.

Today is the dealine for signing the Concorde Agreement but that does not affect whether or not the team has an netry for next season. They can still have an entry without signing apparently.

    brawn-esque, you might say.

title randomisation is working, but we’re going to need more so they don’t get too repetitive.

Ooooh. I like thinking of random titles!

    Also, morning!

  • Nick05/08/2009 at 10:35

    Morning everyone!

My cheeky tweet to Mclaren has gotten me a £10 voucher to their eshop! :D

  • Maverick05/08/2009 at 10:36

then, what is the point of the deadline ?

    Oooh, what did you tweet?

  • Maverick05/08/2009 at 10:37

My cheeky tweet to Mclaren has gotten me a £10 voucher to their eshop! :D

What can you actually get for £10 from their eshop?

  • Nick05/08/2009 at 10:40

    Oooh, what did you tweet?

They had a contest, take a pic in a victory shirt, tweet it to them, then they send you a voucher.

I tweeted them saying i didnt have one, but if they sent me a voucher i would buy one!

  • Nick05/08/2009 at 10:41

What can you actually get for £10 from their eshop?

there is a 30% sale on, so most shirts are only £17, so just 7 for me :D

  • Maverick05/08/2009 at 10:43

I tweeted them saying i didnt have one, but if they sent me a voucher i would buy one!

    Classic

  • Nick05/08/2009 at 10:51

Bit of a bizarre story on grandprix.com today?

RAK!? They are going to RAK!

What on earth is this all about... the place is well not quite a dump, but not far off. It is completely different from the wealth and cosmopolitan cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

I really don't think you have to worry about a grand prix going there! :D

  • Amy05/08/2009 at 11:06

there is a 30% sale on, so most shirts are only £17, so just 7 for me :D

last time I got a voucher from them it didn't work. Boooo. I try not to buy too often anyway because their overseas shipping is ridiculous.

mclaren don't strike me as the kind of team to deal in cash.

I find it odd that in the twitpics of the drivers signing stuff for the eStore they are clearly Hugo Boss shirts rather than the if-I'm-honest-terrible-quality ones they usually sell.

Maybe they won't let their drivers go near such heathen items as replica merchandise.

  • Maverick05/08/2009 at 11:17

Now we just need flavs gin palace to sink en route to Valencia...

It's very foggy off the coast of Valencia at the moment - a fair chance he could run aground? A shame Piquet won't be driving it.

Asumming he needs to go to Valencia of course.

sidepodemergency! I just knocked a litre of chocolate milk into the tiny gap between my tv cabinet and the wall, and my tv cabinet is so heavy I can't move it. Will I ever get the milk out? I'm quite certain if I don't it will start to smell bad.

try a vacuum cleaner? pour down some water?

You need to get the TV out or get a long straw. I would suggest in future not holding litre containers of milk above the TV.

  • Amy05/08/2009 at 11:24

    we dont have a wetvac

  • Steven Roy05/08/2009 at 11:24

try a vacuum cleaner? pour down some water?

You should be able to borrow or hire a wet vac

  • Bassano Clapper05/08/2009 at 11:25

If you have some cooking salt, chuck a load of it over the spill if you can. Can vacuum up later possibly.

Come summertime, it might start to reek a bit

  • Nick05/08/2009 at 11:25

    we dont have a wetvac

you cant use a normal one?

Can you empty said tv cabinat and move it? better to do it now than when it dries, smells, and attracts ants...

  • Maverick05/08/2009 at 11:26

Or a very skinny & thirsty cat

If you only have a fat & well fed cat, pouring cat litter down the back will absorb both liquid and smell

  • Steven Roy05/08/2009 at 11:26

You can't suck a litre of liquid into a conventional vac.

Can I be the first to say it's no use crying...

  • Amy05/08/2009 at 11:27

Perhaps you could volunteer some other people to do the same, and have a couple of stories?

That is a certainty. Given that we have F1 minute every hour and handovers in between if people produce 30 minute shows we are going to have some creep in the schedule.

I love the idea of a vedtime story. Go for it Mac and we will fit it in somewhere.

well, frankly, what is there to investigate (other than perhaps the slick tyres, but would Ferrari be that stupid to use 2009 slicks ...) ? he is just the rich guy who can afford to get into 2 year old collector piece Ferrari F1 car and take for a spin around the track. anyone with some serious money to spare can do that ...

He is a Ferrari F1 driver driving a car owned by Ferrari that is on the closest tyres available to F1 tyres driving during the factory shutdown and the whole thing is being done to circumvent the testing ban.

If his test is legal then what we are saying is that teams can't test their 2009 cars to save costs but they can test modified 2007 cars. In two years time there is going to be an awful lot less difference between current and 2 year old cars thatthere is now.

wouldn't surprise me if he needed to get accustomed to the pit traffic light system at the same time.

i bet his tyre men could use some familiarisation too. he probably stops differently to massa.

well. it may not be a flaw. i guess it depends on how you look at it.

but suppose you're in the business of syndicating stories in return for a fee. you might want to protect those stories from anyone not willing to pay said fee, right?

what you don't want to be doing is giving them anyway to anyone and everyone, unchecked... right?

  • Nick05/08/2009 at 14:45

what you don't want to be doing is giving them anyway to anyone and everyone, unchecked... right?

You are setting up a free version of a motorsoorts syndication agency?

  • me05/08/2009 at 14:46

You are setting up a free version of a motorsoorts syndication agency?

don't need to. it's already been done or us.

  • me05/08/2009 at 14:47

don't need to. it's already been done or us.

    *for us.

  • Stuart C05/08/2009 at 14:47

it’s already been done or us.

    It's war!

  • me05/08/2009 at 14:49

    It's war!

just a random rss feed picked up from google and tweaked a little

however. it wouldn't take much effort or very many hands to do a better job for less money...

  • Nick05/08/2009 at 14:50

don't need to. it's already been done for us.

huh? im confused do you have a link?

  • Nick05/08/2009 at 14:52

just a random rss feed picked up from google and tweaked a little

I see what it is but i dont know what happens to it...

  • Stuart C05/08/2009 at 14:53

just a random rss feed picked up from google and tweaked a little

Oh my life, that's most definitely 10-30 unresearched, cut-and-pasted and thoroughly unoriginal news stories per day. Hoist by his own Peugeot!

  • Steven Roy05/08/2009 at 14:54

however. it wouldn't take much effort or very many hands to do a better job for less money...

Can it use Google translate though?

  • Maverick05/08/2009 at 14:55

Can it use Google translate though?

    Can anyone? :-)

  • Steven Roy05/08/2009 at 14:55

I think it would be very wrong of us not to make this information widely available.

  • me05/08/2009 at 14:55

I see what it is but i dont know what happens to it...

neither do i. but i could take a guess that it might get sold on a month-by-month basis to anyone who wants it.

and apparently available for free to everyone else.

  • me05/08/2009 at 14:56

I think it would be very wrong of us not to make this information widely available.

    to twitter?

  • Steven Roy05/08/2009 at 14:57

The only problem I can see is that the links don't work

  • Steven Roy05/08/2009 at 14:57

    to twitter?

    It seems only fair.

  • Journeyer05/08/2009 at 14:58

    to twitter?

ahhh. things just got VERY interesting.

  • me05/08/2009 at 14:58

The only problem I can see is that the links don't work

there are no links. the content only appears to exist within the feed.

  • Stuart C05/08/2009 at 14:58

I think it would be very wrong of us not to make this information widely available.

Well, I'm off to the bank before it closes (parenthetically, why is it that they close so early? Wish I'd had the sense to go and work for one in my youth. I may even breeze in just as they're shutting up shop and say, "Half day, is it?"). Perhaps I should shove printouts of the URL through a few letterboxes en route?

  • Steven Roy05/08/2009 at 14:59

there are no links. the content only appears to exist within the feed.

The headline is a link but it just takes you to an Apple - not found - page

  • me05/08/2009 at 14:59

Perhaps I should shove printouts of the URL through a few letterboxes?

    couldn't hurt. it's not going anywhere :)

  • me05/08/2009 at 15:00

The headline is a link but it just takes you to an Apple - not found - page

the RSS specification requires there to be a <link> tag. and there is nowhere for it to go. so i picked an arbitrary url.

pick another and i'll change it, but there is nowhere for it to link to.

  • me05/08/2009 at 15:03

ahhh. things just got VERY interesting.

if someone sent your wife threatening and intimidating emails, you'd respond in exactly the same way i'm sure.

the question now, is what to do with the following domain name. coincidentally acquired earlier this week?

    http://motorsportnewswire.com/

every business needs a little honest competition... right?

  • Lukeh05/08/2009 at 15:03

every business needs a little honest competition... right?

    oooooooooooooooooh.

  • me05/08/2009 at 15:05

    oooooooooooooooooh.

i may have been a little busy this week.

  • Amy05/08/2009 at 15:05

i may have been a little busy this week.

    it certainly looks like it!

  • Journeyer05/08/2009 at 15:05

every business needs a little honest competition... right?

I have three words for you: Go for it.

  • Steven Roy05/08/2009 at 15:05

pick another and i'll change it, but there is nowhere for it to link to.

sidepodcast. Use the news to drive traffic

  • Journeyer05/08/2009 at 15:06

sidepodcast. Use the news to drive traffic

Mr C just had a much better idea.

  • Christine05/08/2009 at 15:06

sidepodcast. Use the news to drive traffic

Nooo, don't do that. I don't want to be associated with all those lies.

  • me05/08/2009 at 15:06

Mr C just had a much better idea.

    ah-ha. i didn't. but you just did :)

  • me05/08/2009 at 15:07

Nooo, don't do that. I don't want to be associated with all those lies.

    agreed.

  • Journeyer05/08/2009 at 15:07

    ah-ha. i didn't. but you just did :)

you... you... you've just made me a genius. :P

  • Lukeh05/08/2009 at 15:07

    *claps happily*

the doctor just regenerated into david tennants doctor! onto the next episode!! :D

    god I love the iPlayer.

  • F1Wolf05/08/2009 at 15:08

however. it wouldn't take much effort or very many hands to do a better job for less money...

    oh :-)

  • Steven Roy05/08/2009 at 15:08

the question now, is what to do with the following domain name. coincidentally acquired earlier this week?

That's a tough one. I am going to need a couple of years to come up with an idea for that. I know I will get one sooner or later.

Is it wrong that I see an embeddable news feed that people can put on their site for free that updates in real time?

  • me05/08/2009 at 15:08

I have three words for you: Go for it.

it's not something that could be done alone. it would require many hands, some with foreign language skills, some in different timezones.

  • Christine05/08/2009 at 15:09

Hey Steven, we were on the lookout for some Portugese man-of-war jellyfishes for the Sidepodsafaripark weren't we?

Just gotta head to Dorset or Devon.

  • Amy05/08/2009 at 15:09

it's not something that could be done alone. it would require many hands, some with foreign language skills, some in different timezones.

wherever could you find people like that? One could only imagine.

  • Journeyer05/08/2009 at 15:09

wherever could you find people like that? One could only imagine.

true, true... i wonder... hmmm... :D

  • me05/08/2009 at 15:10

Is it wrong that I see an embeddable news feed that people can put on their site for free that updates in real time?

haha. that's propagating more nonsense though.

what's needed is a competitive product. one that properly credits sources (and links to original stories). one that drives traffic back to journalists.

  • Steven Roy05/08/2009 at 15:10

it's not something that could be done alone. it would require many hands, some with foreign language skills, some in different timezones.

Shame we don't know a few dozen people who are totally obsessed with F1 news who could do that

  • me05/08/2009 at 15:11

what's needed is a competitive product. one that properly credits sources (and links to original stories). one that drives traffic back to journalists.

and not forgetting, one that costs less than everyone else.

  • Maverick05/08/2009 at 15:11

sidepodcast. Use the news to drive traffic

I can see that working - If loads of sites sign up for free 10-30 made-up news stories a day, people will rush to SPC as the last refuge!

  • me05/08/2009 at 15:11

Shame we don't know a few dozen people who are totally obsessed with F1 news who could do that

    isn't it? sooo close :)

  • Journeyer05/08/2009 at 15:11

what's needed is a competitive product. one that properly credits sources (and links to original stories). one that drives traffic back to journalists.

Dios mio, how many projects are you working on at the same time?!

  • Steven Roy05/08/2009 at 15:11

Hey Steven, we were on the lookout for some Portugese man-of-war jellyfishes for the Sidepodsafaripark weren't we?

I am so disappointed. I always thought they were huge.

  • me05/08/2009 at 15:11

Dios mio, how many projects are you working on at the same time?!

i just need a little motivation. thankfully last week i was provided with some.

  • Christine05/08/2009 at 15:12

and not forgetting, one that costs less than everyone else.

We also need a technological genius who knows how to protect the work and not hand it out for free when it's not meant to be. Someone who, you know, can create realtime commenting updates and things like that would probably be able to do that.

  • Steven Roy05/08/2009 at 15:13

haha. that's propagating more nonsense though.

But it puts gmm out of business

  • Journeyer05/08/2009 at 15:13

We also need a technological genius who knows how to protect the work and not hand it out for free when it's not meant to be. Someone who, you know, can create realtime commenting updates and things like that would probably be able to do that.

That's a hard ask. I wonder where you can find that. Hmmm... :D

  • me05/08/2009 at 15:14

But it puts gmm out of business

we don't want to do that.

we just want to offer some honest competition.

    that's how business works.

  • Steven Roy05/08/2009 at 15:14

We also need a technological genius who knows how to protect the work and not hand it out for free when it's not meant to be. Someone who, you know, can create realtime commenting updates and things like that would probably be able to do that.

Do we need to advertise or just hire a head hunter?

  • me05/08/2009 at 15:14

We also need a technological genius who knows how to protect the work and not hand it out for free when it's not meant to be. Someone who, you know, can create realtime commenting updates and things like that would probably be able to do that.

we really don't have all the pieces in place to do this, do we?

i guess it's not meant to be ;)

  • Journeyer05/08/2009 at 15:15

i guess it's not meant to be ;)

    awww, the shame! ;)

  • Steven Roy05/08/2009 at 15:15

    that's how business works.

I am all in favour of honest business and especially if it make you a few quid but he started a war and I just want to destroy his business now.

  • Journeyer05/08/2009 at 15:16

I am all in favour of honest business and especially if it make you a few quid but he started a war and I just want to destroy his business now.

but this idea might make them a few quid AND dominate the competition.

  • Nick05/08/2009 at 15:16

and not forgetting, one that costs less than everyone else.

It could be done with a free introductory offer...

  • Nick05/08/2009 at 15:17

Right i am going to head to the gym and ask them if i can join.

It sounds so easy, but i have never done this before and i will find some way to make a fool of my self...

  • me05/08/2009 at 15:17

I am all in favour of honest business and especially if it make you a few quid but he started a war and I just want to destroy his business now.

no need to destroy anything or anyone.

there are sites that need content, journalists that need attribution, press officers who need a break, and people around the world that want to see proper f1 news syndicated properly.

if there's money to be made along the way... bonus!

  • me05/08/2009 at 15:18

but this idea might make them a few quid AND dominate the competition.

    exactly.

  • Amy05/08/2009 at 15:19

I'm so happy I have to watch A Muppet Christmas Carol. I don't care that it's August.

  • Lukeh05/08/2009 at 15:19

I'm so happy I have to watch A Muppet Christmas Carol. I don't care that it's August.

That film is awesome. Michael Caine!!

  • Journeyer05/08/2009 at 15:20

I'm so happy I have to watch A Muppet Christmas Carol. I don't care that it's August.

Your seasons are all screwed up. :D

  • Christine05/08/2009 at 15:20

I'm so happy I have to watch A Muppet Christmas Carol. I don't care that it's August.

Wonderful film! Why do you have to watch it though?

  • Nick05/08/2009 at 15:20

I'm so happy I have to watch A Muppet Christmas Carol. I don't care that it's August.

It probably makes more sense than watching it in the middle of summer...

  • Amy05/08/2009 at 15:20

That film is awesome. Michael Caine!!

Every December I watch it at least 10 times. Might as well start early this year.

  • Steven Roy05/08/2009 at 15:21

but this idea might make them a few quid AND dominate the competition.

That destroys his business and makes a profit so I am all in favour of it and if that doesn't work there is the free option.

  • Lukeh05/08/2009 at 15:21

Every December I watch it at least 10 times. Might as well start early this year.

Every Christmas I make sure I watch that, Cool Runnings, Willy Wonka and Jingle all the Way at least once.

I may be the only Jingle All the Way fan in the world.

  • Amy05/08/2009 at 15:21

Wonderful film! Why do you have to watch it though?

I don't think I own another film that makes me smile so much. I like the songs :D

  • Maverick05/08/2009 at 15:21

I'm so happy I have to watch A Muppet Christmas Carol. I don't care that it's August.

I'm more a Muppet's Treasure Island kind of guy

  • Amy05/08/2009 at 15:22

I may be the only Jingle All the Way fan in the world.

    that. movie. is. AWESOME.

I love Christmas movies. Everytime I see one I have to buy it.

  • Christine05/08/2009 at 15:22

I don't think I own another film that makes me smile so much. I like the songs :D

Every time I see it, I want a Bean Bunny.

  • Lukeh05/08/2009 at 15:23

    that. movie. is. AWESOME.

I love Christmas movies. Everytime I see one I have to buy it.

Plus it has Troy McLure. Everytime I see Phil Hartman pop up in that film I just wait for 'Hi! I'm Troy McClure...'

  • Amy05/08/2009 at 15:25

Every time I see it, I want a Bean Bunny.

I want the Ghost of Christmas Present. He seems a jolly chap.

  • Pat W05/08/2009 at 15:25

    I'm not here.

I live in Dorset or Devon! One mile from West Bay.

  • Pat W05/08/2009 at 15:28

This other agency thing seems like fun. Will read more later, gotta go again.

  • Pat W05/08/2009 at 15:29

I don't own a net but lots of shops do, I'm sure they could be persuaded to give me one in exchange for money.

  • me05/08/2009 at 15:30

This other agency thing seems like fun. Will read more later, gotta go again.

it's not quite ready yet. only mentioned it because stuart brought the subject up.

i see that at the spot where i entered my answer.

  • Christine05/08/2009 at 15:44

I can't see it either, and there's no mod queue in the dashboard as far as I can see. Odd.

  • me05/08/2009 at 15:44

i see that at the spot where i entered my answer.

    odd. might be cached.

I left an answer an the name and e-mail came up in white and was very easy to read.

  • Journeyer05/08/2009 at 15:45

i refreshed the page, and my answer came out. so it's out there somewhere.

  • Journeyer05/08/2009 at 15:45

Can't see your answer, either - can only see mine.

Mr. C, can you see Steven's answer?

    nope.

  • Steven Roy05/08/2009 at 15:47

I see there is no option to leave a second answer

  • Journeyer05/08/2009 at 15:47

    nope.

looks like it needs some debugging, then...

  • Journeyer05/08/2009 at 15:47

I see there is no option to leave a second answer

yup, don't have that option, either.

  • Christine05/08/2009 at 15:48

  • me05/08/2009 at 15:51

What happened to the old developer or have the really gone this far without one?

  • Alex Andronov05/08/2009 at 16:06

    Christine is AWESOME! :D

    Thirdededed.

I'm back now... and almost dried off!

For those who saw the video of me standing in the water I have to say that I was clearly tempting fate. Seconds after stopping filming I slipped on a rock and my iPhone ended up about 3 centimeters away from the water!

My first thought was, "why did I stop filming!"

I have gone round the sidepodbend!

  • Alex Andronov05/08/2009 at 16:15

Oh... Goodness another 4 Giggles Radio shows!

I'll have to check with Katherine about whether Dr Giggles can reappear. His glasses are on a time-share with her ;)

  • Journeyer05/08/2009 at 16:17

Off to bed. One more day at work, then off to holiday. w00t!

I wasn't backing down and I have ages to prepare now :)

I think Professor Giggles may not be coming back this time. But Doctor Giggles will be there with his phone in show! And I have an idea for something else that there simply wasn't time for in the previous schedule!

    Something for everyone:

    1. Commissioner is good for the individual series

    2. Stewards Review Group is good for the fans confused by how they make the rules up

    3. Regional centres of excellence are good for those who vote for him because nobody else better expect to get one :-)

No These are the kind that Bruce Willis may be interested in. I have found one a week after sidepodradio so I can use that. On the original date there was one on the day. On the second date there will be 4 the following day. Seprember seems to be a safer month.

  • Stuart C05/08/2009 at 16:41

Right, well I'm now in trouble for not meeting Mrs C (my Mrs C that is) from work, so must scuttle to the pub and order her a pint to ameliorate the aggro.

Silence will reign from this end tomorrow and Friday – off to chisel lumps from a coal face belonging to a certain energy drink...

  • Alianora La Canta05/08/2009 at 17:01

    here’s a question for you… are we?

    what have fota ever done for us? {Comment #41}

    - Stopped Max from imposing that ridiculous medals idea one week before the first race of the season

    - Got the teams united for one crucial week - just long enough for Max to realise he can't have everything his own way and to force concessions

    - Limited the extent to which the FIA can split the teams in future

    - Stopped the budget cap, which would have resulted in no F1 in 2011 due to lack of teams

    - Stopped Ferrari from getting any special deals out of the new Concorde Agreement (probably)

    - Forced a new Concorde Agreement to happen (if it had been left to the FIA, there would never have been one because it suited them to pretend they ruled everything)

    - Forced Max to stick to his promise to step down at the end of 2009

    - Stopped the teams from squabbling with each other for a few months (mostly), thus highlighting how stupidly the FIA has been behaving and promoting the agenda for change. Jean knows now that if he wins the election, the fans won't follow him, however many small clubs do. Unfortuantely neither FOTA nor anyone else can make him care, but that's another story.

Granted, FOTA's ideas have been pretty dodgy, but they've curbed worse excesses. Better the yapping dog at the gate than the wolf at the door...

  • Scott Woodwiss05/08/2009 at 17:02

  • Alianora La Canta05/08/2009 at 17:09

    i don’t think it’s that at all. he’s wasn’t even williams’ representative was he? {Comment #84}

No, Adam Parr (Williams' CEO) was Williams' representative. The only reason Frank isn't a full member of FOTA is because Bernie made it sign an agreement in 2005 separately tying it to F1 until 2012 because Williams needed the inducement money.

  • Steven Roy05/08/2009 at 17:10

i am confused why nick craw is on todt's team?

  • Chris D05/08/2009 at 17:24

I get the impression this is half a story.

    http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/77559

What happened to the old developer or have the really gone this far without one?

Developer is not quite the right term, as that usually relates to the people putting up the equity (so Donington leisure is the developer). And they already had a contractor announced. So it looks like these guys are coming in as project managers/construction managers/client's representatives.

In all likelihood this relates to Donington's fund raising efforts. Lenders to construction projects will want to know that the project will be delivered on time and budget, with the right contracts in place, performance bonds and guarantees from the contractor, so that cost overruns delays etc do not affect the lenders. I guess it is felt that having a well respected construction management team on board will make the lenders look more favourably on the project. Quite how getting someone from Multiplex, who spectacularly cocked up the Wembley project (in terms of time and cost overruns) provides that comfort I'm not sure!

  • Chris D05/08/2009 at 17:29

Hmmm - just noticed on re-reading that she was involved in the purchase of the Dome by AEG. I wonder if AEG would be interested in Donington - since their venues like the o2 and staples center host music and sport, and Donington hosts its fair share of music events, and sport...

  • Alianora La Canta05/08/2009 at 17:35

    that was never a serious proposition. it was a starting point for a discussion. {Comment #50}

Since Max was insisting on the same fatally flawed structure and was only prepared to change the amount, FOTA's thwarting of the plan was still necessary.

  • Alianora La Canta05/08/2009 at 17:43

    do we know that? or are we assuming that? {Comment #66}

The FIA didn't want a Concorde Agreement at all and after selling to CVC Bernie didn't need one (alternate commercial contracts would have had a similar enough effect for his purposes), so it has to have been enough of the teams together to force the matter. The only such group around was FOTA, so it has to have been them.

The Concorde Agreement severely limits the powers the FIA can exercise, unless the 2009 version is significantly different to the old version that leaked onto the internet.

In short, we know that but through indirect evidence.

  • Alianora La Canta05/08/2009 at 17:46

    how much worse could it have been? {Comment #76}

We could have had no F1 in 2011 on the grounds of everyone getting disqualified from 2010. However flawed it may turn out to be, we will almost certainly have F1 of some description in 2011 due to FOTA's actions.

Judging from Spyker's experience, orange highlighter is slightly better than yellow highlighter... ...but only slightly.

The effects of pink highlighter were demonstrated by Brabham to be fairly disastrous.

I would happily be a major sponsor of Brawn. However, I have nothing to sponsor them with unless they put my name all over the car which would ruin it. Even more so, I have no money to offer them, unless some packs of chocolate and a sausage roll can persuade Mr Brawn ;)

    Today is the dealine for signing the Concorde Agreement but that does not affect whether or not the team has an netry for next season. They can still have an entry without signing apparently. {Comment #368}

Then the Concorde Agreement is... ...strange. That's effectively saying protections from rogue FIA decisions and the like is optional.

    If his test is legal then what we are saying is that teams can’t test their 2009 cars to save costs but they can test modified 2007 cars. In two years time there is going to be an awful lot less difference between current and 2 year old cars thatthere is now. {Comment #593}

No - what we (or at least I) are/am saying is that only organisations that have signed up to the Sporting Regulations can be bound by them. It would be legally impossible for the FIA to act otherwise, even if it's as frustrated by the partner organisation loophole as I am.

The 2009 test was planned to be with Ferrari itself, while the 2007 test was with F1 Clienti. Legally, there's no reason why Ferrari couldn't give F1 Clienti a current car and let Michael test that. The ethics of the situation are a different matter entirely.

    Introductions aside,

    lets move right along,

    you can all sing along,

    A new tune?

  • Alex Andronov05/08/2009 at 19:07

    A new tune?

well I was convinced that was the lyrics to do the Bart man. But I've just learned it doesn't seem to be the case.

  • Alex Andronov05/08/2009 at 19:12

Well that seems to have killed everything. Maybe we shouldn't put introductions aside but should stick to them?

  • Alex Andronov05/08/2009 at 19:15

Also Jackie. I've been meaning to ask you since you revealed while I was presenting the parade lap that you had read my book. I wanted to ask you what your favourite story was?

Although I now realise that you may own but have not read.

  • Alex Andronov05/08/2009 at 19:18

Re the what am I doing.. hiding?

I thought you might be hosting the quiz live?

  • Alianora La Canta05/08/2009 at 19:18

    That’s good. Your normal level of research will have been way more than they are used to. {Comment #750}

Apparently I knew more about the company and what it did than the interviewer (who runs the office I intend to work in), though she did reveal that she didn't know the company had a website*, so it may not have been one of my more spectacular achievements...

    * - I hasten to add that the website was done by someone in a different branch of the company.

  • Jackie / saltire05/08/2009 at 19:19

Same here. Wonder what he was promised for that defection?

  • Alianora La Canta05/08/2009 at 19:32

    Have you tried this? {Comment #809}

The sidebars of the page load but not the main (and most important) screen of the forum or my admin function panel, so it won't show up on that test. However, it does make adminning the site (or even viewing it) impossible - and from what I've been told, other forum users are having the same problem.

  • Alianora La Canta05/08/2009 at 19:35

    I got:

If you can see this page and still think we're down, it's just you.

Then I remembered I'd copied the site's URL after I'd copied the forum's URL...

I tried the forum URL, but the checker doesn't narrow it down enough anyway (it simply claims the whole network is up, which I already know because otherwise technical support would still be in the dark about this - their e-mail doesn't work!)

  • Alianora La Canta05/08/2009 at 19:38

    It's finally started working properly :) ,

with a message from technical support claiming it worked all along despite all evidence to the contrary :(

even though the site only started working correctly between me sending off the last comment and this one.

Only songs I recognise from Absolution are Hysteria, Stockholm Syndrome, Butterflies and Hurricanes, Time Is Running Out and Thoughts of a Dying Atheist. Only know of the last two, haven't heard them.

Any other good ones I should check out? Try to avoid saying all of them ;) :D

Having never listened to either album (I think I saw the former in a shop once and the latter still brings me more in mind of F1 Racing interviews than music albums), I can't really comment...

It also doesn't say about any of the practise sessions which is a little wierd although I wouldn't be surprised if that changes as we get closer to the GP.

Still... no idea why it says Northern Ireland/Wales only....

I cant understand the reasoning behind Wales only for the European GP. What is on TV for 2 days on BBC1 on that weekend that would cause the F1 not to be shown? I dont get it.

My grand and complicated theory is:

    It's a typo.

  • Steven Roy05/08/2009 at 21:05

If someone's looking for a show idea I heard one on the radio that may work. Get people to phone in and say who they would like to be in a film or TV series and why

  • Jon Waldock05/08/2009 at 21:05

Question for Mr Woodwiss, is Gran Turismo 4 any good?

  • Maverick05/08/2009 at 21:06

My grand and complicated theory is:

    It's a typo.

I'd go along with that - this is the BBC website we're talking about

  • Lukeh05/08/2009 at 21:07

    It's a typo.

Probably. Just seems wierd for it to be on the listings and on BBCF1 but I can't see why it would'nt be on

  • Scott Woodwiss05/08/2009 at 21:10

Question for Mr Woodwiss, is Gran Turismo 4 any good?

Well, it has a wide variety of cars, but physics and AI aren't really that different from GT3. Then again, GT4 has Le Mans and the Nordschleife. But then so does Forza 3.

My advice - it's not as good as it could have been. Strangely enough, I think GT3 is better. Go with that and wait it out until GT5, which apparently should be out this year! :D

  • me05/08/2009 at 21:11

has this RCE article been discussed yet today?

i really new nothing about stefanovic before reading, but i recommended if you've not already perused.

  • Scott Woodwiss05/08/2009 at 21:12

I have to restore my iPhone. Boo. :(

  • Maverick05/08/2009 at 21:12

It is widely seen in F1 circles as a certainty that Todt will win in October. In Budapest last week everyone was agreed that Ari Vatenen had played a bad hand and was being totally out-thought and outclassed by Todt and his team.

    http://www.jamesallenonf1.com/2009/08/todt-plans-to-change-how-fia-manages-f1/

Have to wholeheartedly agree. Ari's smear campaign was clumsy while Jeany has come up with a well thought out manifesto. Come on Ari, try harder.

  • Janna05/08/2009 at 21:13

Probably. Just seems wierd for it to be on the listings and on BBCF1 but I can't see why it would'nt be on

Lukeh, correct me if I'm missing something, but isn't it OK for you anyway as you're in Wales?

  • Jon Waldock05/08/2009 at 21:14

My advice - it's not as good as it could have been. Strangely enough, I think GT3 is better. Go with that and wait it out until GT5, which apparently should be out this year! :D

Ah but does GT5 cost me under £5 including postage? i think not ;) and it won't work on PS2

I got a Amazon voucher for completing a certain amount of surveys from a survey company, so i was just using that up. I've bought Race Driver 2 (which i used to play so much the disk stopped working) and GT4 (it was that one or Le Mans the game)

  • Lukeh05/08/2009 at 21:15

Lukeh, correct me if I'm missing something, but isn't it OK for you anyway as you're in Wales?

Yeah it's fine for me but it just confuses me is all and I'm sure evn though it's Valencia if it isn't televised asides from here it'll leave a lot of unhappy viewers....

Plus when a mystery surfaces it's fun finding an answer :D

  • Janna05/08/2009 at 21:16

Plus when a mystery surfaces it's fun finding an answer :D

Absolutely, I've been looking at other sports on the BBC and can't see anything that would clash. I'm leaning towards the typo theory, we'll have to see :-)

  • Scott Woodwiss05/08/2009 at 21:16

My advice - it's not as good as it could have been. Strangely enough, I think GT3 is better. Go with that and wait it out until GT5, which apparently should be out this year! :D

GT5 WILL be worth it for these reasons:

    - Indianapolis

    - Le Mans

    - Nordschleife

    - Nurburgring GP circuit

    - Damage

    - 16 player online mode

    - Ferrari

    - Lamborghini

    - Bugatti

    - WRC

    - NASCAR

And that's only, quoting Kaz here, "a very small portion" of the game. There are still very much likely quite a few rather large bombshells to be dropped yet, me thinks ;)

The roadwater gig, which was sold out, is the one in this tiny village.

  • Maverick05/08/2009 at 21:26

I have just discovered that in the tiny village that we are staying is having a gig tonight by half man half buscuit.

    Ah, you're in Exmoor?

  • Alex Andronov05/08/2009 at 21:26

    Mmm, biscuits.

I was wondering if I could eat enough biscuits to become half man half buscuit?

  • Bassano Clapper05/08/2009 at 21:27

Apple today released Mac OS X 10.5.8 for download via Software Update.

seeing as how well things went during the last update... wish me luck won't you?

  • Alex Andronov05/08/2009 at 21:27

"Satisfying the Bloodlust of the masses in peacetime"

from memory they were a comedy covers band. So I think that's probably a joke.

    Ah, you're in Exmoor?

    I think so.

  • Scott Woodwiss05/08/2009 at 21:28

Well, trying to install the update on my iPhone essentially just broke it, so if it's not going well for me...

    *gulp*

  • Maverick05/08/2009 at 21:28

I was wondering if I could eat enough biscuits to become half man half buscuit?

For all those that don't know, there's an new iPhone software update, version 3.0.2, which I think only fixes SMS vulnerability.

Unless the aim was to bring Timo to F1 and make everyone love him, then, they've passed.

Just spotted that Sean has picked up the sports show. Those of you who follow other sports can leave him opinions or questions and he will respond to them. He says he can't do the show live so you can leave voicemails on the usual number or e-mail Christine or you can record your comments and post them on the sidepodradio dropio.

Jon is now uber excited, and has discovered that "we'll be bringing you a LIVE onboard video feed from one of the Tete Rouge cars, and a camera or two in the pitlane!"

    wooop, how cool is that!!!!

However, the 2CV site has just died, so this dosent bode well!!

I'd like to read it, I guess I should do before the film is out

Seems odd but it is not unusual for there to be multiple offenders in categories like F3 but 21 is extreme. Normally it is ambitious drivers who won't give an inch so if one keeps his foot down the others will as well rather than waiting for the stewards to deal with it.

Thats insane, there is only 26 cars in British F3 as it is. I'm looking forward to watching that one on tv

Can everyone who has a show fill in the status column so that we know how things are progressing. I know we have more time to play with than we thought which is good because we should now be able to do things like the melodrama

So 21 out of 26 got penalised and presumably at least one of the others caused the yellow so a maximum of 4 drivers managed not to get penalised. Unbelievable

I think if 80% of drivers don't see a yellow flag, then it's not big enough or in the wrong place

    Love the podium conference: http://www.f3euroseries.com/newsausgabe.php?id=2482

"I didn’t improve in the first sector while yellow flags being waved there. It could be that my lap times were partly faster. However, that wasn’t due to the first sector, but to the other two. I am totally disappointed."

Sidepodspace update - Lunar Elcipse tonight, not a very exciting one though as the moon will graze the edge of the Earth's shadow

The moon is lovely where i am, or was, twas full and bright. Tres nice

  • Jon Waldock05/08/2009 at 22:27

    Love the podium conference: http://www.f3euroseries.com/newsausgabe.php?id=2482

"I didn’t improve in the first sector while yellow flags being waved there. It could be that my lap times were partly faster. However, that wasn’t due to the first sector, but to the other two. I am totally disappointed."

ah rubbish, it's F3 euroseries, i can get British F3 on 4od but not euroseries.

  • Bassano Clapper05/08/2009 at 22:27

The moon is lovely where i am, or was, twas full and bright. Tres nice

It was particularly bright earlier and very white

    Quite unusual, I thought

  • Jon Waldock05/08/2009 at 22:29

    Quite unusual, I thought

it's usually too cloudy to see it, but tis lovely tonight :)

  • RG05/08/2009 at 22:29

it's usually too cloudy to see it, but tis lovely tonight :)

the usually too cloudy to see it is still in effect here

  • Steven Roy05/08/2009 at 22:30

Sidepodspace update - Lunar Elcipse tonight, not a very exciting one though as the moon will graze the edge of the Earth's shadow

Didn't know that. From here the moon could have gone on holiday. Can't see nuthin' but clouds

  • Steven Roy05/08/2009 at 22:30

    Done

    Thanks

  • Bassano Clapper05/08/2009 at 22:40

Reading Joe's blog. Apparently Jean Todt has an election brochure and thinks F1 (and each world championship) should it's own commisioner

  • Pat W05/08/2009 at 22:40

Hi again. I got delayed by family things. Anything interesting happen since I popped in?

  • Bassano Clapper05/08/2009 at 22:41

Hi again. I got delayed by family things. Anything interesting happen since I popped in?

Something about biscuits and the discovery theat Ade Edmonson was once in Holby City (Mr C & I were both shocked)

  • Pat W05/08/2009 at 22:43

Something about biscuits and the discovery theat Ade Edmonson was once in Holby City (Mr C & I were both shocked)

Ah yes, that really confused me because when I was channel hopping once I saw him in it and thought it was the doctor comedy he'd previously been in..

  • Maverick05/08/2009 at 22:43

Reading Joe's blog. Apparently Jean Todt has an election brochure and thinks F1 (and each world championship) should it's own commisioner

I thought that FOTA had insisted on F1 having it's own commissioner anyway as part of the concorde agreement?

Ari really seems off the ball

  • Bassano Clapper05/08/2009 at 22:45

Ah yes, that really confused me because when I was channel hopping once I saw him in it and thought it was the doctor comedy he'd previously been in..

I put it down to a large tax bill

There can be few other reasons

  • Steven Roy05/08/2009 at 22:45

Ari really seems off the ball

Todt is selling himself to the publie. The public don't votes. Ari is doing his selling to the people who have votes.

All Todt is trying to do is make himself seem reasonable and not Max.

  • Jon Waldock05/08/2009 at 22:47

All Todt is trying to do is make himself seem reasonable and not Max.

He dosen't have to do anything, he's basically got it sewn up. It's his to loose now.

  • Maverick05/08/2009 at 22:48

Todt is selling himself to the public. The public don't votes. Ari is doing his selling to the people who have votes.

I disagree - the regional centres of excellence is pure candy for the voters. Don't vote for Todt and your country doesn't get a centre of excellence - classic tactic.

  • Bassano Clapper05/08/2009 at 22:49

He dosen't have to do anything, he's basically got it sewn up. It's his to loose now.

I hope you're wrong but I fear you are not

  • Alex Andronov05/08/2009 at 22:50

Steven I can't edit the wiki from here. But I haven't started any of my shows but I will be doing the 4 as pre-records.

I will be around live on the day in case anything else is required :)

  • Jon Waldock05/08/2009 at 22:50

I hope you're wrong but I fear you are not

    Same

  • Pat W05/08/2009 at 22:50

neither do i. but i could take a guess that it might get sold on a month-by-month basis to anyone who wants it.

and apparently available for free to everyone else.

    That's an interesting business plan.

    I'm out.

  • Pat W05/08/2009 at 22:51

    That's an interesting business plan.

    I'm out.

I should have said.."and for that reason, I'm out"

  • Bassano Clapper05/08/2009 at 22:51

Frankie Boyle's Mock The Week Musings podcast is quite amusing

NOT family friendly is slightly overstating it

  • Pat W05/08/2009 at 22:52

every business needs a little honest competition... right?

    Absolutely!

  • Bassano Clapper05/08/2009 at 22:52

I will be around live on the day in case anything else is required :)

You can heckle your shows if you want from the live comments

  • Alex Andronov05/08/2009 at 22:53

I really worry about Ari's green credentials.

I think that is a big weak spot for him.

Note: I'm not arguing about whether his position is right or not. Just how the clubs will perceve his position in relation to them wanting to look good. The environment is the next Euro N-Cap.

  • Scott Woodwiss05/08/2009 at 22:53

    Same

    Thirded :(

  • Alex Andronov05/08/2009 at 22:54

You can heckle your shows if you want from the live comments

    I'm sure I will :)

  • Jon Waldock05/08/2009 at 22:55

    Thirded :(

It was exactly the same with the last US election, McCain had all of Bush's old advisors, and it was clear to (most of) the country that it would be another 4 years of the same bush stuff, so it was Obama's to loose. Luckily for 10,000's US troops in Iraq, he won.

  • RG05/08/2009 at 22:55

    Thirded :(

I'm being optimistic here. Therefore, I disagree.

  • Steven Roy05/08/2009 at 22:55

Steven I can't edit the wiki from here. But I haven't started any of my shows but I will be doing the 4 as pre-records.

That's good. So long as you are taking up your slots that's all I need for now. I know you are starting from scratch again.

I am sure there will be things needed on the day.

  • Scott Woodwiss05/08/2009 at 22:56

I've tried virtually every method to cure the 1603 error code and no luck :(

  • Steven Roy05/08/2009 at 22:56

I disagree - the regional centres of excellence is pure candy for the voters. Don't vote for Todt and your country doesn't get a centre of excellence - classic tactic.

I need to read Todt's brochure properly. I only scanned it earlier.

  • Andy Taylor05/08/2009 at 22:56

I've tried virtually every method to cure the 1603 error code and no luck :(

Bah. A Trip to the Apple store for you then.

  • Steven Roy05/08/2009 at 22:57

Frankie Boyle's Mock The Week Musings podcast is quite amusing

NOT family friendly is slightly overstating it

    Mock the week podcast?

  • Bassano Clapper05/08/2009 at 22:58

    Mock the week podcast?

Seems to be material rehearsal or stuff that WON'T make the show

  • Scott Woodwiss05/08/2009 at 22:59

Bah. A Trip to the Apple store for you then.

Or across the road at work. They should be able to flash my handset seeing as it is an accredited repair centre that has a contract with O2 to fix their phones. Will enquire at work tomorrow.

Simple fact is - if I take it to an O2 store (there are no Apple stores in Norwich atm), I know exactly where they'll send it - my work. So why go through the system that way when I could just walk across the road and ask "Couldn't take a look at this for me, could ya?"

  • Bassano Clapper05/08/2009 at 22:59

I've tried virtually every method to cure the 1603 error code and no luck :(

Bah. A Trip to the Apple store for you then.

Agreed, take it to the 'main dealer' rather than their approved retailers

  • Scott Woodwiss05/08/2009 at 22:59

Agreed, take it to the 'main dealer' rather than their approved retailers

As I said: There is no Apple Store in Norwich.

  • Pat W05/08/2009 at 22:59

  • Pat W05/08/2009 at 23:00

    Christine is AWESOME! :D

    seconded.

whatever the next number is because I haven't read further yet!

  • Bassano Clapper05/08/2009 at 23:00

    i'm kinda with you there

  • Pat W05/08/2009 at 23:01

    i'm kinda with you there

Never know, might be a 'grower'..

  • Bassano Clapper05/08/2009 at 23:01

As I said: There is no Apple Store in Norwich.

I guess you have little choice then

  • Scott Woodwiss05/08/2009 at 23:04

Although according to macrumours.com, there soon will be. To save my hind from the wrath of Messer Taylor, I'll say no more than that.

  • Andy Taylor05/08/2009 at 23:04

Although according to macrumours.com, there soon will be. To save my hind from the wrath of Messer Taylor, I'll say no more than that.

    Hehe. Good man. :D

  • Scott Woodwiss05/08/2009 at 23:05

    Hehe. Good man. :D

Interesting to see when it's opening though, according to them. Not long. Again, won't say anything more than that on, erm, that.

  • Bassano Clapper05/08/2009 at 23:06

Although according to macrumours.com, there soon will be. To save my hind from the wrath of Messer Taylor, I'll say no more than that.

Isn't Messer only used in the plural

[Pedantic side just had to ask that]

  • Alex Andronov05/08/2009 at 23:07

The name is a holding name. I'm pretty sure.

Christine said we need something in the area of media, future and change. But all the good names are taken. So I jokingly asked wow who took mediafuturechange.com and then they decided to buy it as a holding page.

    Maybe it is a grower.

  • Pat W05/08/2009 at 23:07

Update on the interview: went brilliantly :) . In fact, I got complimented on the amount of research I'd done into the company. I'm now waiting to find out when I can start...

    Well done!

  • Bassano Clapper05/08/2009 at 23:09

The name is a holding name. I'm pretty sure.

    Is that why I can't comment? ;)

  • Steven Roy05/08/2009 at 23:10

There is a problem with the comments

  • Bassano Clapper05/08/2009 at 23:11

There is a problem with the comments

    And the Doohickey, obviously ;)

  • me05/08/2009 at 23:16

I hope you will have time to work on the name... I'm not sold on that..yet.

    me neither. working title.

  • Pat W05/08/2009 at 23:17

I suggest finding an hour or so to just relax and go through it all in order. The entire album flows from song to song :)

To be fair you should do this with every album rather than hunting out the good stuff and only ever listening to those.. that only comes later. IMO.

  • Scott Woodwiss05/08/2009 at 23:18

Now going through the In Silico album. :P

  • Pat W05/08/2009 at 23:22

I have just discovered that in the tiny village that we are staying is having a gig tonight by half man half buscuit.

    OMG

I have seen them live before. The gig was tonight so I've missed it now.

Nobody else here has heard of them! Surely SPC know them?

I've heard of them but haven't heard anything by them, to my recollection.

  • Bassano Clapper05/08/2009 at 23:24

I've heard of them but haven't heard anything by them, to my recollection.

I remember seeing them once or twice on Gary Crowley's "The Beat"

No that, was a show for the indie kids

[when xfm didn't have it's full licence yet]

  • Pat W05/08/2009 at 23:26

I should really stop using this thread now, but I can't ignore a biscuit conversation..

What biscuit would you like your other half to be?

    Hobnob!

There are biscuits made locally to me called Moore's Dorset Knobs.

Of course my personal favourite is the chocolate digestive.

  • Bassano Clapper05/08/2009 at 23:28

I'm not liking the fact that Bourbon is not getting the love it deserves

    Just catching up on comments...

    HE FELL IN THE WATER!!!

    hehehe :D aww poor Giggles..

    http://mediafuturechange.com/

awesome!! gosh you guys have been so busy! :D

I think Professor Giggles may not be coming back this time. But Doctor Giggles will be there with his phone in show! And I have an idea for something else that there simply wasn't time for in the previous schedule!

yay!! i can't wait! :D giggles radio rocks!

Update on the interview: went brilliantly :) . In fact, I got complimented on the amount of research I'd done into the company. I'm now waiting to find out when I can start...

yay! that's great news Alia! :)

gosh you guys talk a lot :P i've just been in fits of laughter over Jackie and her missing 'v's though :D

  • Nikki07/08/2009 at 04:20

  • Sean Golding07/08/2009 at 04:26

Hey all. How's it going? What's new?

    G'day.

I think you're in the wrong daily though. ;)
