Although I was looking forward to the four day weekend, it now has me thoroughly confused. I've already had one day off and yet it is still only just Saturday. We've got Free Practice and Qualifying in Malaysia today, so expect threads aplenty, but meanwhile, here are some of the things we're talking about:
- Yesterday, we had the opportunity to catch up with frequent commenter and F1 journalist Stuart Codling for a full length chat, which in turn became a Sidepodchat podcast. It was great fun to record and edit, so I hope you enjoy listening as we discuss the finer points of his brand new book, how F1 photography is changing, and hear a hair-raising tale of passports and visas.
- James Allen has taken a closer look at what makes the front wings so special, and uncovers the secret of last year's Brawn GP speed as well. Rather than the double diffuser debate, James pays close attention what he calls an "outwash" front wing. Interesting stuff!
- Don't forget to make your Sofa F1 pole poll predictions. You've got until qualifying begins, and Alex's new system of making your selection is really rather fun. I do find it too easy just to drag and drop without putting too much thought into it though. No wonder I'm so far down the league.
That's all for today. I hope you'll be watching qualifying along with us today, you know the live comments will be waiting for you with added Factbyte Factbox. As ever, I will see you in the comments.
It's Saturday
Yep, it is
okay, now i've listened to that very very awesome podcast, it's time for me to get some sleep. night all! xx
night lou
Interesting coments from Geoff Willis. I wonder if he is looking at a different car for HRT
I assume he wants to make sure next year's car is on a different level and maybe not made by Dallara
night lou
Clearly contracting out your car is not the way to go
He is a HRT technical consultant and he says their car is rubbish hmm
I assume that is not a long term plan
THere is still a Toyota out there......
Lola had a car practically ready
Would that be any better than a Dallara? Lola don't have a good F1 track record
They made some decent F1 cars but everyone only remembers the last couple

Need to get some sleep. Will miss FP3 probably, but should be awake in time for Quali.
Night all
adios!
Heheh, like the other stuff too
night
See ya at either 8 or 9 depending when I drag myself up :)
haha night
Evening SPC. Sitting here making some Chili for my track day tomorrow.
Hmmm, maybe everyone is getting some rest before Q1?
I just woke up :D
Want to see an awesome photo?
oooh, yes
This is what happens when you have nearly $2000 dollars worth of racing tires laying around:

ahhaa
Yea, I'm overstocked right now in my garage. I have too much rubber right now, need to burn some off =P
Helloooooo :)
I've made it home from work! I <3 time and a half :D
Hiya =) Hope Qualifying goes well today. I cant watch as I got an event tomorrow so I have to get rest =(
Amy!
Guess who was on this morning's International Herald Tribune frontpage.
:D
Morning, folks.
woooo! I love south east asia :D
Oh, and Mr C, the drop's email address is NOT [email protected] It's [email protected]
:D
Although the empty stands behind him must be of some concern.
look! It's the real Bibendum! :D
means less people to annoy me next year. I don't mind small crowds when I'm part of them :)
Greetings Everyone. Still Good Friday in the Land of Sun-Scroached Tundra. It was Shorts-Weather today. My neck got burnt.....
I wonder if we are going to have Giggles radio today?
Good night folks. Time for me to crash out so I can hit the track hardcore and lay down some good laps.
*sits in daily for an hour*
Good plan
Should have posted this here
Anyone recognise the helmet next to Rubens
http://twitpic.com/1csmwb
seeing as Lukeh has gone, isn't it a helmet with his new design on it, next to a helmet with his old design?
He has a new design? Normally he keeps the basic design and tweaks the colours
Hey got Internet here in Sepang. There is a big black cloud over the circuit but no rain yet.
USF1 trying to bury bad news while everyone is concentrating on Malaysia
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/82634
Hi Nathan
Do you know why Paul di Resta has a race suit on? Is he doing a Porsche race or something?
well... i think its the same design.. just blue..
could be formula BMW it is starting at 2:45. Also Carlos Sainz jr.
Didn't notice the line round the normal red bit. It is his design. Thanks Lou
I would be surprised if it was a single seater race but you never know
Nicola!! - http://www.sutton-images.com/preview.asp?filename=d10mal881.jpg
it's almost like it's the Brawn days again :)
After 2 stages this morning Loeb has a 32 second lead in the rally. How did that happen?
Is he on Twitter?
If not, ask @ClubForce or Crofty
Morning all
Weekend working still sucks
a picture of Victoria Johnson? - http://www.sutton-images.com/preview.asp?filename=d10mal905.jpg that must be the first one...i must stop taking an interest in that team...
Crofty is doing the TV unilateral after quali? COOL! :D
Hi all.
simple: he's that good. :D
Hi Journeyer
Mercedes is good, Lou. Mercedes is goooooood... :D
He used the all-blue helmet in FP2 yesterday.
Hey Nathan! How is it there? :D
Hey Bassano. How goes it?
It has taken him three days to get there
Sucky
Saturday early shifts = no fun
Tomorrow's race is one of the few I have to miss this year
Boss is on leave, short of cover here
true. But it seems that it's harder for a car to dominate now, given how sensitive they are to dirt on the line.
as it turns out, I may miss... Monaco.
Noooooooooooo! :(
Arrrgghhh! Nightmare. Work commitments?
A concert my girl wants to go to. It's an excellent artist, but it's one night only. Sooo I'm just hoping it gets me brownie points for choosing her over F1 this time. Hehehe.
The things we do for love!
you're all with the wrong women. Apart from Mr C, he found a great one who would move a wedding for F1 :D
Too darn true. And she went with me to my first GP, so it's all fair. :D
Better find the right man, then. :P
the first question I must ask everyone I meet: "are you willing to go to the Monaco GP for our honeymoon?" ;)
:D Does it go without saying he must be a super-saver and/or crazy rich? :P
Katherine doesn't watch F1 but she has the F1 calendar in her calendar so she doesn't ever clash!
no, he just has to like F1 enough to accept that I have already planned my honeymoon.
oooh, Katherine rules!
:D
Leaving the F1 part to one side I think talking about the honeymoon on the first date might be a bit scary ;)
to be fair to my girl, this is one of the very few times she's clashed with f1. That's how good we both think this concert will be.
Seems like AMy wants to use it as a chat up line
can I follow it up with "hey, at least I haven't planned our wedding (except for the bit where it will be in May)"
Hello folks.
Don't think its been mentioned, but DC has been confirmed at DTM.
I assume a link would have helped
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/8591618.stm
with Merc? So is it byebye Red Bull?
No

Oggi! Nooooooo.
look who is in Malaysia! (I mean, I knew she was there, but it's the first photo I have seen of her this year that I didn't take myself :D )
:) hehe
yeah that was just mean :(
Actually, she's quite cute
it helps that you can't see what she's wearing because its probably awful.
Amy, I was wrong. Our very luxurious mobile room has 3 rooms a 2 people. Only one with a double bed.
I think it was your commentary that put me off looking before ;-)
from the link you posted in yesterdays daily they seem to have purchased new ones, because they certainly used to have bunks and weren't quite as flash.
shes the best WAG ever :D
LOL
The Dutch site says starting from April.
ooh perfect. Where did you find the menu? I got quite excited by that :D
oh goodness.. are you gonna plan what you are eating each day too?
planning is awesome :D
but... it's 146 days away...
Hehe I knew you would understand me. It's in Dutch: menu
that will be here before I know it. There was a thing in that Lotus bit before qualifying that was all '120 days until first race' and I was like 'wow! that feels like yesterday!'
:D ehe
I don't know what half those words are, but I love it anyway :)
hehehe i love photographers with a sense of humour :)
@f1photos That was fun. Off to find a man sized tumble dryer and a lightning rod
https://twitter.com/f1photos/status/11528037792
Surely a monopod is an ideal lightning rod
presumably he means so he doesn't get killed?
yeah i took it to mean that..
everyone is selling Malaysia so well I vote for 2011 international sidepodmeetup :D
i don't do rain
I don't either. I may regret this decision.
You never know, Bernie might listen to me, Adie and other folks and move it to another time...
i'm not willing to subject my cameras to a monsoon without at least a paddock pass...
you should do a world tour of all the circuits where Jenson has won :D
Jenson never won in Malaysia?
that would be great... i need to enter and win the lottery first, either that or wait till i become an f1 photographer ;)
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
you are kidding? this is exactly what he wanted.
f1 sucks in the dry and bernie has guaranteed rain. the only risk is the session gets cancelled altogether, but he even has a backup plan for that.
You will have a lot of practice in that after Spa :)
Confoosed
shhhh
i was talking to Lukeh about this earlier, it isn't going to rain in Spa, it's going to be warmish
remember that time he won 6 of the first 7 races?
ooops #nothingtoseehere
although they could room with us. The very luxurious mobile home has a TV.
the race may have been stopped, and he may have only got half points... but he won it, i remember him being told while sitting in the car then walking down the grid/ pitlane..
i remember those times, it was good times.
and wifi?
Fair enough. I assume we are going to see a race in Cambodia or Brunei next year then?
I remember Heidfeld and Glock not knowing who was second and who was third :D
i think that's the plan. hotel during the evening, and your motorhome during the race :)
:D
The Camping site has 90% coverage, but probably our home is in the 10% :D
ooh. Foreign TV really excites me.
Oh fair enough. I think I'm confused with China. Was that very wet as well?
Must admit, didn't really care which order they finished. Just brilliant they were on it.
@byronf1: Lewis Hamilton vowed to laugh off 20th place start: "I have been fastest all weekend but this is my life at the moment."
how are you going to stalk drivers with Amy, Pamela and myself in there? #nofun
hehehe can't wait ;)
i don't know cause JB didn't win that one :) Vettel did.
oooppps yes.. we'll just be stalking Ted.. and maybe Crofty.. ;)
no stalking during the race?
Wiki tells me the first 8 laps were run under the safety car because of rain. It actually is starting to scare me how much I don't remember about F1 because I have no recollection of that either.
Yeah, that was the one where Kubica went over Trulli.
also we might run out of electricity sockets, with all the cameras, mobile phones, ipads and netbooks.
I have doubled my charging power since all my foreign adaptors are double ones :D
wrecked alonso's strategy.
hehe good point, only picture taking during the race (i'm secretly scared that i wont be able to take a pic of the cars cause they will be too fast)
I never watched Malaysia, I remember now though. I started to watch it, went out to work and came home to find I'd only missed about 4 laps.
thats really only an issue on pit straight, so I'd imagine you'll be fine at Eau Rouge.
hehe i'm sure we can rotate them :).. either that or there will be a fight for the sockets similar to the kubica/ force india thing this morning ;)
i'm still nervous they'll be too quick for me. i'm even debating going to Silverstone FP on friday to practice for Spa...lol
:D sounds about right :)
probably a good idea :D I took one of Jenson winning and its just a big silver and red blur, but if anyone asks I will tell them I was trying to capture his speed. *cough*.
hhehehe :D
Darren Heath liking the weather :)
@F1Photographer Well that was fun wasn't it?! I'm soaked through but loving shooting in the wet. Let's hope the race is just as good!

oooo :) very speedy :)

(hearts)
I love new zoomy camera.
:)
is this the nikon with x18 zoom? :) it looks awesome. i have a feeling i may have two cameras with me for GP days..
I think it's 15x zoom. Either way, its still much more useful than my little cybershot when it comes to taking pictures of things on the actual race track. Cybershot is only good for when the drivers are RIGHT THERE. So I shall be taking two cameras as well :D
I was thinking, whatever town you end up in, the camping lot could taxi over for some sidepodpubbing on one or two or three nights.
:D yay!! can't wait, tis going to be awesome!!! :) i had a dream that we were all sitting playing cards in one of the mobile homes the other day. I should say this was followed by a dream about playing cards with Ant and Crofty... i think i may have a problem.. lol
Generator. Or the sockets for cigarette lighters and we run our engines. I charge just €5 an hour.
There's time on Friday to find somewhere where they are a bit slower (since we can go almost anywhere). Then there's GP2 cars to practice on.
I think it shall be mighty odd going from Spa with so many sidepodfolk to Monza all by my lonesome :(
awww, if you win the lottery i'll come with you...
someone went from the comments last year, was it cheeekymonkey? is she going again this year?
yes she went, and ended up meeting with the 5live lot didn't she?
Morning all. How is everyone?
she went last year, 5Live got her into the paddock! I think this year she is going to Barcelona instead.
awesome! yourself?
ahh, boo. although that's another for the joe meetup :)
by monza you'll be known as Heikki's offical fan, and friends with the 5live team.. i'm sure they'll get you in the paddock too ;)
I wonder how I can get into the paddock with 5Live, after all I am Amy from the Internet from the Clark grandstand :D
I'm doing well. My new red bull cap arrived in the post yesterday, Quali was amazing and Doctor who's on tonight!
Heikki should totally have an official fan like Anando did that one time. I would beat anyone who stood between me and the prize.
are you sure she wasn't already in the paddock? and then she met them.
I thought they got her in but it was ages ago and we all know what my memory is like :D
i can't see, the tweets are protected, but i think it worked that way. either that or she hung out in the commentary box which is the other side of the paddock.
*track rather
is yours signed by Webber?
Hehehe
only tweet from that time I could find just says "Thank you to @5LiveF1 for an amazing morning! :D Sorry if I was a rambling idiot but brain is sleep deprived. ;)"
What the...?
Robert Doornbos tweet:
my mechanics are looking for a carreer [email protected] cirque du soleil! http://twitpic.com/1cuxyq
y'ouch :)
i remember her saying thank you to them via twitter but that's er.. it..
i'm pretty sure your powers of persuasion could convince the girl to return tis year :)
heheh. Someone else from the comments mentioned going as well a while back, but I can't remember who it was.
blame Amy for teaching me stalking patience
haircut time... don't like 'em..
oooooo i like this pic of Jb...http://twitpic.com/1cgaqd#googtrans/auto/en *ehem*
not sure what was up with the link... but - http://twitpic.com/1cgaqd
Do we know Timo received a fine of €2,200 for speeding in the pitlane this morning in FP3?
new to me :(
forgot to ping this in the daily: http://sidepodcast.com/2010/04/03/big-names-fall-early-in-wet-malaysian-qualifying/
Umm, thats a big fine?
i've seen something saying JB was fined €600, and Hulkenberg €200... but i don't see anything about that on the fia site so i'm gonna wait for that to be confirmed. The official release says Timo was doing 70.2km/h .. what's the limit? (i don't understand km)
http://twitpic.com/1cv0hx - @LeeMckenzieF1 just brought me an easter present !!
i know... that's what it says here... http://www.fia.com/en-GB/mediacentre/f1_media/Documents/mal-document-26.pdf
... or did i read it wrong?
from @karunchandhok
awwwwwww!!
i was confused for a moment there..
ah-ha - press conference!

goooo crofty!
Not yet ;)

ss20 nothing interesting happened.
Kimi still hasn't crashed out. Only one stage left.
I had no idea that was Nico's first front row start. Thanks for the stat, Crofty!

USF1 trying to bury bad news while everyone is concentrating on Malaysia
http://www.aut...s/report.php/id/82634 {Comment #47}
Well, it was more of a surprise to me that it hadn't shut down already, to be honest...
just so i know.. how many ipads are likely to be present at Spa.. i may need someone to watch that i don't sneak it into my bag...
I'm looking at the 'At Bat' app and it really has things that should be in the F1. In-game highlights, condensed highlights at the end of the game, in game audio commentary..
will check it out, ta
The official release says Timo was doing 70.2km/h .. what's the limit? (i don't understand km) {Comment #206}
60 km/h. I believe it's Timo's first offence of the season, so he's got €200 for each complete km/h over the limit (with €200km/h being the minimum).
But if he thinks he's paid a lot of money to the FIA he should speak to Vitaly Petrov!
Having re-checked, there's probably a €200 base rate in there in case you were less than a whole km/h above the limit...
Oh, and Johnny Herbert is the driver steward by the look of it.
we have sleep to catch up on. if anyone fancies leaving a voicemail about qually, it's 0121 28 87225. best to do it today, because it'll all change tomorrow and q1,2,3 will all be forgotten.
night all.
night mr and mrs c sleep well!
night to the c's.
good night

Bernie doesn't have a girlfriend does he?
He has. Her name is Fabiana Flossi
Haircut done. Suddenly I feel more alert. Amazing. Now I have warm traditional cornish pasty from the new Cornish shop... in Dorset... work that out
blimey! she's much much younger than him :s
Wolf will be around, IIRC.
Hello, folks. Watched quali at the pub. Interesting session, no?
at a glance he looks like Michael C Hall
its the F1 way :)
ahh thats right. Although he was in Melbourne too and our paths never crossed!
Nice
but... he's like 80!!
Nice!
I hope Christine's alarm is set for 3pm because that's when the boat race is on the BBC, although it may not start until 4 or so
Awesome, thanks. Why does Mark look so unhappy?
KATHIIIIII!
yes?
emma success! *high five*
:D *high five*
emma stonier?
No. Our Emma.
you have an Emma? have i missed something, or is this some secret menu planning thing? lol
heheh I knew Emma looong before I came to sidepodcast, I know her through LJ :D
as I move on to sorting the photos of the cars instead of the photos of the drivers, I must say thank you thank you thank you to HRT for having Bruno or Karun on the sidepods. Makes it sooo much easier than having to work it out by helmet colours.
well..... i'm totally confused. but too drugged up on cold syrups and things to notice the difference :)
hehe Kathi and I have been trying to convince her on livejournal to come to Spa for ages and she has said yes :D
ooooooohhh right! :)
:)
5th Driver: Incidentally, the last time we qualified 17th and 20th? We won the race... can you guys remember where?!?
That means only two beds left in the second mobile home. Should I book a third?
Has anyone not been accounted for?
I'm guessing Mr & Mrs C plus Alex (and Kat?) are in a hotel.
wow!! last time i checked it was just Lukeh and I in the second mobile home..
There are still a few people on the wiki page: Dan Brunell, Sara, Alianora, possibly Steven and Nick and alison
is Bassano staying in a hotel too?
He was considering the mobile home but I haven't seen a firm decision.
No he is staying with us. The pub got in the way of him adding himself to the wiki :)
Hm. Hard to know whether to book another. On the one hand if we don't get it now we won't get it, but on the other hand we don't want to be left with an empty one if people decide not to come..
cool!
ehehehehe Jenson told me the answer ;)
@TheFifthDriver Suzuka ;-) A little inside knowledge maybe!
Heheh!
Awesome
@Amy & Kathi, seeing as you've done such an awesome job in persuading Emma to come to Spa, you should get her to comment too :)
Yes
I'm working on that
(dissapeared for a bit)
While we're on the subject of Spa, how're people getting there? Any cars with a spare seat?
:) does she listen to spc?
I'm in need of a lift too, but am happy to train with others from London...
The general plan is to drive from London or thereabouts. I don't think we've worked out car seat allocations and may not for some time.. Some may want to get the Eurostar or fly. Loads of options.
not sure, i figured travel will sort itself out a bit later on.. Lukeh and I need to figure out how we are gonna get their too.
she said she was going to find time, see? http://twitter.com/Deltachild/status/11530761917 she went to Singapore in 08 and had a much more succesful stalking time than I did, and last year she went to Monaco and saw Mika <3
Travel is the easy bit, we can leave that until much later... unless we need to book anything but I don't think we need to, other than the tunnel and there's no rush there
she also appears to be a Franck fan so her and Christine will get on great.
All my lj friends know about Felipe Baby at least
well i went to look at eurostar prices and they don't even have them out for August yet, it was then i realised it's only April, and as long as i have my seat i'll find a way of getting there :D
hehehe it would be be odd for me to tweet her saying we can't wait to meet her at Spa wouldn't it? lol
Exactly. :) I stressed about the ticket and a bed because those are essentials, I can get there no probs.
:)
JB has cheered up!!
'Tough day for us today but it does make tomorrow rather interesting :-) Massively looking forward to the challenge!!'
http://twitter.com/The_Real_JB/status/11531541680
Right, I am off to feed some cats. Back in time for the boat race I hope.
byyee
Kathi, what have you done?! ;)
*waves to people* Hi. I'm not as pervy as my Twitter makes me sound, honest. Can't wait for Spa, can't believe I'm finally going to the F1 race there when there's going to be no Kimi!
very sorry :D
Hi Emma!! Welcome to SPC! :) *waves* Spa is gonna be great!!
pervy is acceptable around here :D
*waves back* Welcome!
Ah, hi :)
Right, I gtg. Seeing grandparents. If I'm not back later, happy easter to all!
Happy Easter
see ya! :)
Full credit to Kathi for getting you on. Hey.
Seeya Chris and Pat
so what is everyone up to this afternoon?
I am uploading the rest of my photos and then I am transcribing. I should be sleeping though, because it's 11.42pm :D
yay for more pictures :)
hehe you're gonna be a bad influence on us in Spa... lol
muhaha I hope no one planned on sleeping.
hahaha between you and Bassano i think i'm going to need a holiday to recover from this f1 adventure :P
I think we averaged about 5 hours sleep a night last week!
I think that's more than I get in a normal week!
i'm soooo not going to be a happy person in the mornings... #sorryinadvance.
aww!
I was dead all week and then I slept all day on Friday. Sleeping patterns are now ruined for the rest of the long weekend!
It's okay. I feel sorry for Nick. I'm incapable of doing anything quietly. I'm up = everyone is up.
I was a zombie at work this week. Particularly on Thursday, did not get much done at all!
Oh I forgot. woldchampionship standings after round 3 #rally

yaaay! No more twilight for meeee! http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/82675
Just, for the love of god, don't put it on the same weekend when the clocks change.
they will, it's the whole reason it's not the first race anymore.
I'm back
hey Pat
I just remembered my staying up doesn't matter because in 2 hours it will be 3am but then it will be 2am again. Hooray!
Oh weird, your clocks go the wrong way!!
so you have Ausi summer time?
well your summer is just starting and ours is just ending, so it makes sense really :D
some parts of australia do and some parts don't so when we're all on winter time it's a lot less confusing :D
wow, that is confusing.
Nothing about moving time around makes any sense!
I find it odd enough living in a country with more than one time zone, in NZ it was super simple because it was the same time everywhere. Come summer and all of a sudden there are four different time zones and I get so confused when dealing with clients at work from other parts of the country.
i don't think i would be able to cope.. that sounds horrible.
Afternoon everyone,
Back out of bed and am thoroughly sleeped
:)
Hi
Boat Race coverage on BBC1
Peter Serafinowicz tweets..
The winner of the Submarine Race will remain a secret, as usual.
:)
I know it's months and months late, but I suddenly realised when looking through Amy's photos of last weekend that while I sent the shots to Emma, I never actually uploaded them for you guys to see too!
so... 2 months late... here are some pics from the London Evening with Joe.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/loujohnson/sets/72157623760503462/
wooo! and here are the rest of mine: Friday: http://bit.ly/djDlrM Saturday: http://bit.ly/9H0ENJ and Sunday http://bit.ly/ap8OOF
For every one I uploaded there were three I didn't. I am such a stalker.
OK, so my Sunday link breaks the doohickey. Odd.
fixed ;)
Fixed. ;)
Or not. It gets confused with the bitly URL, it seems.
Hi all.
indeed, it wouldn't even work if i used the URL inside a link bracket.
a bug for mr c to fix, no doubt.
Looks like there's 2 characters in there that the doohickey is interpreting as that wide eyed smiley.
@Amy... as much as i know you love Heikki... i'm not sure he can pull off the body warmer/handbag/jeans look :(
http://tinyurl.com/ylowqcj
I totally don't understand why he is carrying what appears to be a woman's handbag, but I forgive him for it.
is this any better? - http://tinyurl.com/yjwj74l
plus I was really just trying to get Heikki and Catherine in the same shot but that silly Lotus man stood in front of her :(
i know Jenson sometimes used to carry a strange bag like that too... so i feel you're pain ;)
It's called a "Murse" or "Man Purse". At least that's what we call it in the states :)
thank yoooou
works fine. :)
Wooo. I woke up in time!
Amy!! - http://tinyurl.com/ylnj28t - there are two female photographers in this shot!!! :o
yay!
Hello :)
Lou and Amy - love the pics
yah, there were lots of female ones around in Melbourne, I said to Pamela at one stage that it would make you happy :)
swear in aisle 3
http://sidepodcast.com/2010/04/03/live-malaysia-2010-qualifying/comments/#comment-740043
Who is the underdog this year because I would like to cheer for them?
Cambridge. Apparently Oxford are hot favourites.
It doesn't start for at least half an hour yet though
:D hehe :D
Excellent.
I'm glad I was in time to see the welly flinging bit.
Cambridge is an awesome place i'm supporting them cause of that :)
Oh I missed that because I was commenting :)
You might have missed David Mitchell rooting for either Cambridge or a sinking
I caught the end of him, he was talking about not Twittering via mobile in case he gets hooked.
Amy!! you got a pic of Mikey!!!
http://tinyurl.com/yjs6fbn
(hearts)
heheh you are noticing all the things in my photos that I never did :D
notice that they are either photography or Jenson related...
#notobsessed... ;)
:D I think Christine really needs to see this one. *fans self*
:D
Wow!
he also looks good smiling
Another pizza fail for Mr. C (although not as bad as his, I don't think):
http://www.break.com/pictures/id-still-eat-it1790742.html
he's wearing ray bans!!!!
the only time I saw him without them was when he was in his car. I would've liked to see his pretty pretty eyes at least once :)
hehehe JB is like that sometimes lol
OMG!!! Darren Heath replied to my tweet! :D :D :D
Afternoon peeps
So Australia was officially too dark to hold the Grand Prix
I second the sentiments that it should be run bloody early so we can watch it on Saturday night in Europe :)
#SorryAmy
Ha ha, priceless
Looks like a mushroom cloud
don't make me get out of bed, grrrrrr
Cool, what did you ask/say?
I'll settle for a night race then ;)
that I would like, but it ain't gonna happen at Albert Park :(
F1 at night with a beer, yes please
Sooner or later they'll wise up or lose the race to NSW
I don't think it'd go to NSW, I think Aus would just lose it all together.
Dunno, either way something needs to be done
Bernie can sell an Aus race coverage package for heaps more money if the tv time is more reasonable
Darren - Well that was fun wasn't it?! I'm soaked through but loving shooting in the wet. Let's hope the race is just as good!
Me - @F1Photographer i bet it's fun... if a little cooler, but how do you protect your cameras from everything and still get great shots?
Darren - @f1_lou Water proof covers for the lenses and cameras.I don't like using them but when the rain is as strong as it is here they're essential
That would be a pity though
Gosh, there really is a book! http://www.amazon.co.uk/Blood-Over-Water-David-Livingston/dp/0747595151/
I want to read it.
That's two pints of London Pride they've had in shot
I'd have to move countries again!
Cool
I wasn't joking about the shower cap by the way, very handy for your equipment
Maybe not during monsson though
Finnish Grand Prix?
Sounds worth a read.
And the brothers in this race thought of Facebook?
So it seems! I thought these were meant to be normal students :)
Lou: Your a Nikon person aren't you?
Am thinking of getting an 'up to 200mm' lens
Any advice?
I'd prefer Spain. Boring races, but there's two of them! and all that testing!
and I had no idea Dan Snow had won it too
ooh really? that's cool..:)
That will never happen
Habla Español?
Hahahahaha yeah right.
One of my friends rows for the Oxford Women's team. She definitely is just a normal student. The women are a lot less hardcore though.
I was advised to always grab one from the hotel for your camera bag
To be fair, thieving from hotels is always pretty good advice :D
hablo un poco
I've not had much use for a shower cap in the last decade, now I do ;)
Good enough
:D
I tend to stay in places that are so budget there is nothing to steal, so when I do get proper things I get excited.
It's not thieving if I use it, just not right away
Me too normally, which is why I also grabbed the sewing kit when we were on Safari
Ooh, whoever is leading at Hammersmith is likely to win it then. Ace.
oooo!!! well i have a sigma 70-300mm lens which works well for a cheapish lens. Depends on your budget tbh. Sigma lenses are good so they may be worth a look. Nikon's own lenses are worth a look too (they are expensive though).
I am in desperate need of a haircut. Nick had banned me from getting one but I think my hair has now reached that length where I could have a fair amount off and noone would even notice.... I might risk it :P
we went to Hammersmith the other day! :)
I was probably gonna go for Sigma
What about F stops?
I ate both of Jeremy's complementary chocolates because I've never stayed in a place with complementary chocolates. Then Pamela made us a cup of tea. Hooray for free tea!
The question is, if you do will he notice?
See any boats?
I want to colour mine again.
Boat race is on BBC1 in UK and BBC World elsewhere
I need to go to a camera store to see them in the flesh and work out what I'm willing to carry, I think
You forgot #confidential
why did Nick ban you from having your hair cut?
Maybe it was a deal in which he'd promise to store refrigerated goods in the correct manner ;)
I dunno, he likes it long. This is too long though.... I might try to measure it. My hair is very very curly so it tangles a ridiculous amount.
depends if you want to use it for a particular reason? or for general use?
ooo i should do that too....
A girl can dream....
I like all their reasons for wanting to win: "It's the pinnacle of rowing," "A childhood dream" "being part of sporting history."
...
"It means we can beat Oxford."
Hehehe.
A lot of landscapes, architecture and such I think.
I'm only just working out what I like to snap
a few, it was very very rough tho, Luke and Em made me stand there looking at the river for ages... it was too windy :(
:)
I did measure it, my hair is over half a metre long. Mind = made up.
Soooo many boats following them.
I measure mine in millimetres
When it reaches 1, it's too long
I'm far too lazy for that. I've decided I'm far too lazy for hair this long too.... I'm sure I can find some middle ground!
Oxford should have fallen back on that bend as they had longer to travel, looks good for them
It seems very equal, but Oxford got the jump on them right at the start.
Chopping up all the water too... nice and calm before they get there
They're quite slow off the record, +10 seconds for Oxford.
slackers
Hairdressers = booked
#sorrynick
Hehehe.
Come on Cambridge.
Did anyone ever go right of the island?
:-)
Don't think so, although some boats have sunk in the past...
Ooh, good question :)
Blimey they are pulling level
I've a quick question for the more technical minded folk here:
Currently I'm running a Mac 10.5.8 and am looking to transfer old VHS tapes (old motorsports stuff before you ask) to my HD/DVD - any clues on what software/hardware I might need to do this?
Cheers,
(p.s. - I am computerly inept)
(p.p.s - new F1 and Motorsports Archive to be launched officually tomorrow morning)
:D
If they do, the Hammersmith fact I only learnt about 10 minutes ago will already be proved wrong.
*do it
Might have been Barnes bridge with that fact?
Nah, it was something like 20 times at Hammersmith, only two at Barnes, how exciting!
The easiest way is probably a DVD recorder
I'll have a think but that seems like the least technically challenging
[Always buy one DVD RW to test, which you can then wipe when your system works]
In fact there are VHS/DVD R combo machines but VHS is pretty much dead now
40 strokes a minute!
Was a good race, I like it when one falls back and then powers through :)
Woo Cambridge! Poor Oxford.
yay for cambridge!!!
Software wise, there's this from Roxio
I really like their DVD authoring stuff, Toast
Cheers Bassano,
I've loads of physical space that I need to clear
That Roxio kit looks pretty good
Their stuff is pretty straightforward, you should be fine
Cheaper than DVD R too
This only about half the archive and the reason for the need of physical space
http://twitpic.com/1cwyzo
http://twitpic.com/1cwz5g
All between 5 and 8 hours long......
Oh my word! I just threw all mine in the bin. RIP videos!
Yeah, I'll be doing that soon too I think
As soon as I get my stuff moved from physical to digital, the vids will be gone out to the wilderness to fend for themselves amongst the wolves
:(
Checking Wiki.. after 156 races the score is now Cambridge 80 - Oxford 75 with 1 dead heat.
Great analysis from David Mitchell: "Cambridge rowed more quickly."
I've pondered whether to digitise the F1 races I taped... seems like a lot of effort though
(ba dum tisch)
Hehe :)
There's a few places where they are online now
There is no Bob to call Champaaaaagne.
That's why I wondered whether it was worth it :)
Wouldn't it be Piiiiimmmmmmssssss?
i feel left out... i want some Pimms..
Seemed like more of an effort to record the things in the first place
:)
Careful now - the BernieSquad could be watching you right now!!!
(insert freakish theme muzak)
He he
Bernie's probably waiting for Betamax HD
Do you think Lada are partnering Renault by accident?
Coming soon, Trabant F1
Supported by the drinks company, SodaStream
I used to love sodastream
If they hired Giancarlo, they could go back to the 'Get busy with the Fisi' line!
So many visits to the dentist.......
:D
Or maybe they change it to "Fizzi" for commercial purposes
I think it's cheese on toast with strong coffe time, in front of the Quali replay
when you look at this picture
http://www.xpb.cc/viewpicture.asp?id=359153
am i the only one that thinks this music should be playing?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ham6vFy8v2I
I'm going to get in Days 1&2 of the Rally of Jordan prior to Doctor Who
Nope - that picture only needs this music
:)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sI6r6APUwK0
Just deciding whether or not I will watch Dr Who. I don't like all the fuss about it but recognise it can be good telly...
Life long fan, even through the 80's stuff - simply will not be dragged away
:)
It's worth giving the new guy a try, then you'll know whether you want to see the rest of the series or not.
True enough
it's been sunny all day!! :( the weather forecast lied. *humph*
Evening guys. Doctor whooooooooooooooo :D
There are still a few people on the wiki page: Dan Brunell, Sara, Alianora, possibly Steven and Nick and alison {Comment #266}
I'm 99% certain I won't be able to go to Spa, but don't want to commit to not being there because if I get a job in enough time that pays enough in a prompt enough manner, that decision could change very very rapidly...
Soon!
after a rubbish day, I may be a little excited :D
should we have a dr. who breakout?
:)
you're awake!
hi. managed to catch up on all that sleep i lost during the week :)
as easy as sidepodcast is this year. back-to-backs are still tough it would seem :)
I don't mind writing one. Could be worth an experiment. Even if not for live commenting, just to contain the Who love for non-fans.
sounds like there's enough interest.
i was expecting you to get up at like 7pm or something and have a totally strange body clock.. i was surprised to see you up so early :)
What time is the ol' fella starting?
6:20pm. Not 6:19, or even 6:21, as that would be silly.
Here ya go: http://sidepodcast.com/2010/04/03/the-return-of-doctor-who/
nice one.
Evening all.
Have just warmed up for the main event with classic Baker Who on SciFi HD...
Oooh, good stuff! I accidentally made a special thread on an F1 site about Doctor Who: http://sidepodcast.com/2010/04/03/the-return-of-doctor-who/
Oops :)
Fantasy WRC scores are out. Well done RG and Pat!
Woo, go us!!!!!
Nick has flooded his flat. I chose this moment to break the news about my haircut. Job's a good'un.
is it bad?
Do I want to know how he managed that?
He claims he just put the washing machine on and went to the shops. I'm not sure what proportion of that is true :P
did he put the washing machine on and leave it's door open?
Don't they have a failsafe for that?
it's the only way i could see that he would be able to flood a flat by putting the washing on...;) unless it's the washing machine's fault ;)
:D
I think he probably blocked the pipe with inappropriate items in the past :D
There's not any real damage. His floor is tiled. Some of his things are wet but I say you deserve it for leaving them all over the floor :P
To cheer himself up he should book you two some Spa tickets #isonaroll
What a good idea!! i hear there are two places left in a very lovely mobile home.
i see you've been recruiting!
I think he wants me to go to AD :(
i think i stand for us all when i say.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
but he went last year... he should go somewhere different this year ;)
yep. #ishappy
:(
i thought we cancelled that gp?
Haven't you heard? abu dhabi is much more exciting than spa!
Also, i hear pigs are causing serious congestion in the skies.
i think we said if the title is wrapped up before we'll just deny it's existence and start the off-season early.
My local TV skipped the red-flag period. How long was it?
About twenty minutes.
Televised test session
heheh. awesome :)
big pic catchup.
friday: http://www.f1minute.com/2010/04/02/good-friday/
saturday: http://www.f1minute.com/2010/04/03/april-showers/
f1minute and digest coming soon.
oooooo!!
I am now listening to the Stuart show, as I forgot after quali.. :)
heheh i dreamt about f1 photography last night. i'm convinced it's cause i listened to the show just before i went to sleep.
*sits back in the daily*
I think I have recovered now, and am watching qualifying :) poor Jenson...
Mclaren = epic fail recently
:( i would say it's cause i was supporting Rubens too much... but i wouldn't blame you for mclaren's mistake ;)
recently?? i hope you're not counting Ausi as a fail... ;)
and mercedes, and ferrari and red bull.
all of them left it late. webber just saved rbr's backside and the two mercedes drivers got through because they were probably running a wet setup.
Jenson came in because his inters were destroyed, he was reaaaal lucky. quali + lewis race = fail
in any other quali it would have paid off, they were real unlucky
but...but....but... Jenson is a genius.... #don'truinthisforme:(
agreed. so why fail>
He is a genius, you know
oh not just mclaren, all of them :D
You singled out mclaren ;)
(heart) you.
ok. so who isn't fail then? lotus?
because when i came in thats who you said was poor, so i was continuing it
force india? they were awesome :D
I meant of the big teams, most of them left it late
He made the right choice at the right time, but he isn't a genius :P
Williams
#notbiased
i think i'm most impressed by kamui today.
I am most impressed by Force India. Smart cookies.
yay!
He does look good. I said williams more on a non biased point of view, from what im watching now Hulkenburg is impressing me.
Sutil done good :)
Sutil is still my choice on SofaF1 for getting their first win this year :)
i'd give them credit if they'd have done that the first time.
what's crazy is that every driver lined up like sheep except the out-of-the-box thinking kubica. that was schumi-esque.
fffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu...
bugger
I forgot SofaF1!!!
no.. it just wasn't very british ;)
*covers eyes*
Me too :(
did you forget sofa f1?
not you too! :(
haha, its true, theres no rules about it, clever lad
oh foohickey! :(
Oh yea. In which case, I am most impressed by Kubica. Woo!
i'll remind you of that on sunday! go renault :)
i might as well have forgotten i predicted JB for the win in an attempt to learn from last week.... i didn't factor in mistakes from mclaren..
I'm happy New Renault seem much better than previous years
As I was watching Quali, I was just looking at the Ferraris though willing them to go out and do a lap.... They always do that, why don't they EVER learn! So so stupid.
now would be a bad time to bring up jenson 'making his own calls' right? ;)
Goodness me, that's quite a downpour on the qualifying.
He made his own call to spin off into the gravel for sure!
Its the old BMW trick. Leave it all to the last minute.
Though of course since Peter came back we ended up in 8th.
9th. no?
Red Bull are very good at that. Vettel often does only one lap at the end. Today wasn't a day for doing that though, it's obvious. Even if the track did speed up later, there would have been time to go again!
Ah yes. I've been mixing up dream and reality again.
It does work sometimes....
occationally....
ok maybe not
!!!!!!!!!!! :(
If the team tell him the session will get drier he's not going to say 'you're wrong, we're going out now' is he?...
am just saying, works both ways.
he aquaplaned.... he had no control of spinning off or not, however he still out qualified Lewis hehehehe
It;s OK, even fellow genius Stephen Hawking can't predict the weather accurately I'm sure.
and then binned it. i wouldnt be shouting about that too much
But that's such a huge risk. What's to lose by doing an early lap just to get a time set?
I could also point out who outqualified him.
true story.
Other than I guess another chance to bin the car.
to button's credit he spun after he set a time. lewis spun trying to get a time.
that's how it should be. put in a banker, push harder.
of course, but they both sucked, he just sucked a bit less
seems harsh to me, but there you go.
They both got owned today, well and truly owned.
I dunno... ask Mclaren...
am watching qually again on the iphone. i love on demand f1 :)
even if it is only little circles
*hugs mr c for almost being on JBs side*
where's RocketRedHead when i need her?.. :)
I like the risk takers. Webber took a risk changing his tyres and ended up a second faster than everyone else.
That was in Q3 though? so he'd already got in, i dont think theres a reason to take a risk to get out of Q1 unless you're a rubbish team
@mr c not sure if you saw in the comments but i've finally got my act together and put some Joe pics on my flickr (having sent them to Emma months ago)
http://www.flickr.com/photos/loujohnson/sets/72157623760503462/
I approve of that kind of risky but messing about with that rain was just obviously going to go wrong!
i didn't, thank you.
That got me thinking actually recently. The management game football manager simulates matches by utilising a top down view of the pitch with little circles for players, refs, etc. Remember that F1 Manager idea I made last year? How cool would it be to use the technology used with the f1 app to simulate this kind of thing for races on a game with that idea...
*is secretly sad that noone has made a game like that for years and years* :(
webber was messing with the rain too.
mclaren/ferrari gambled with the weather and lost. webber did the same and won.
and i heard webber was an unlucky guy.
I don't really care where the risks are. If everyone just did the same old thing it'd be even more boring than it already is! :)
but he didnt do that in Q1 right? i cannae remember
I'd love to manage Sauber.
And then fire Kobayashi, mwahahahaha ahem. Sorry, carry on.
No he went out pretty early and got a lap in before it started to bucket.
it doesn't matter when he did it? the point is, everyone was betting against the weather and sometimes the house won.
*cough*
better driver
*cough*
that sounds like the kinda thing you could spend weeks playing..
years.
I can name many, Paul di Resta for example.
:)
but it does matter, if he'd done that in q1 it would have been amazing, but he did it in q3 where he had nothing to loose
I would just create a team and sign jenson and Rubens. I'd also hire Ross Brawn, and probably Ant.
I'm stuck for a name though.
:P
paul di resta's accent is awesome! i discovered this yesterday :)
:D
i don't see the distinction?
He is an awesome person.
I played GP World for a while but I started to spend more time picking holes in their options rather than playing the game
if you take a risk when you have very little to loose then its not a risk
we're talking at cross purposes clearly. i'll stop.
watching back on the iphone. webber was the man of q1. he came out after hamilton, but still put in a q2 time.
in fact he was behind alonso and massa too. how did he find he pace?
mr c if you didn't see my link about my flickr you probably didn't see that Darren Heath and I are nearly BFFs (well not nearly,he replied to a tweet... so that almost counts ;) )
ahh, so that's where eddie's shirt went to: http://www.autosport.com/gallery/photo.php/id/13248293
ooh yay!!
he did? wow, go you!
you may have also missed Amy's pics
i did.
Ooooh nice one.
Which might mean me and Robbie Savage are almost bffs. Yay.
Isn't he the one who hates reporters?
You embraced via rugby, truly a beautiful sport
hehehe :) it made me very happy :)
http://sidepodcast.com/2010/04/03/daily-3rd-april-2010/comments/#comment-740116
and the boat race?
yay for darren heath!
When's the boat race?
Yes, we, have something in common. Lovely.
a years time?
i slept through that too. was it good?
4.30 this afternoon
I liked it. :)
Hey!! I told you all about it!!
....ah.
Oops.
oh right. was i awake?
Humph.
was it before you fed him?
lou, i've favourited them all, they're ace.
aw yay! thanks you :) oh and thank you for persuading me to walk behind Joe and take more pics, oh and thank you for lending me your camera too :)
is there a link to amy's i should i comment trawl?
Basically, cheers for everything!
Erm, yes.
http://sidepodcast.com/2010/04/03/daily-3rd-april-2010/comments/#comment-740062
i'll find the links.. one sec.
Ahh, if Mr C is anything like me then he'll be useless when hungry. I'm utterly hopeless.
http://www.facebook.com/photos.php?id=218600221 basically they can all be found here.. :)
They are rather good
that may explain it ;)
It sounds like he wasn't hungry, but more asleep than anything. I've also just found out he's been drinking beer without offering me any so I've got the right hump.
yes. :P
Well that's not on. And it reminded me that I ought to get one.
This is just an awesome video: http://blog.sonuma.be/un-tour-du-circuit-de-francorchamps-avec-lucien-bianchi/
uh-oh :(
fanx
wine m'lady?
she got a pic of mikey too! :)
Yes please :)
mikey shoo?
Uh oh, now I'm worried....
mikey... mike collier... Jb's physio..
this guy - http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=30620534&id=218600221
Will watch shortly, looks promising
oooh
he's awesome.
#i'mgoingtobescaryatspa
#sorryinadvance
Part of me's glad I'm not going to Spa. The other half is majorly disappointed.
#sorrysidepodcast
That's rather awesome. Amazing how fast and flowing the old track is, and there's just bushes at La Source..
The other thing is that the driver is Lucien Bianchi.. he is related to Jules Bianchi, who tested for Ferrari last year.
blimey, amy took loads of pics.
easily enough for a guest post...
@mr c: did I mention our company's super-awesome VoIP "conferencing" service?
:-)
Cheap??
lukeh... are you around?
I think I'm here somewhere
brilliant, can you check your email please :)
Free. Or the cost of an 0844 call. Or if I'm nice, the cost of an 01 call.
Ping: http://sidepodcast.com/2010/04/03/f1-digest-2010-malaysia-qualifying/
Hehe I like free bestest.
The reason it works better than Skype is this.
It's all done on the server, so there's only the bandwidth of one phone call (typically 100kbit). All that's needed is a way to record the stream, either with a softphone or possibly with our system if you poke my development partner enough.
I just learnt something very important... when trying to specify something over the internet it helps if you can spell..
F1M ping: http://www.f1minute.com/2010/04/03/03-apr-10-webber-takes-pole-position-in-wet-malaysia-qualifying/
:D
the difference between finish and Finnish is important. lol :D
i looked into it, but it doesn't support mac's does it? or did i miss something?
SIP phone on Macs. Anything with SIP capability will hook into our service.
but what software?
X-Lite's the only one I'm aware of that works on Macs. I know it has record capability cos I tried it.
k, i'll have another look when i gets a sec.
Linkeh for yaself: http://www.counterpath.com/x-lite-3.0-for-mac-download.html
i has to pay for it? :(
X-Lite's free, honest. It's built on tech that's built into their paid-for products.
Slightly better link for X-Lite 3 on Mac: http://xlite.counterpath.com/download/mac
ah-ha!
Hm. Do I understand this correctly that with the free version you can only have a conference between 3 people?
http://www.counterpath.com/xlite-comparison.html
that would make for a short panel show :)
That's misleading somewhat. You can have as many people as you like with our service, you're not limited to an arbitrary number. We just plug X-Lite cos it's easy to set up.
Hi, welcome to Sidepodpanel. For team A, we have Kathi. For team B, we have Mr C. All the rest can't come because of the limitations of the softphones we use. :D
:)
The way conferencing works with our SIP service is as follows.
People dial a number, be it 155 on-net, or the off-net number(s) and you're prompted to enter the conference room number. You then enter the PIN, say your name, and you're in the room. Anybody knowing the PIN can enter the room if they please, and those with the admin PIN can kick users if they need to.
what are the international rates like?
Well, we're going to watch a film now. Mr C says we have to watch a film every qualifying Saturday just to prove that we can. I am not sure this will last :)
So I can't call people at random anymore?
ha. we're not that busy this year :)
:D
Ooh, that reminds me, I bought I Love You, Man today based on your review entirely :P
enjoy your film!
If people download the SIP soft-phone, or have a hardware SIP phone, the international charges are mute for 155. With a geographic telephone number, probably the same as most other providers.
You mean that was fun?!
enjoy the film! i have a film i need to watch at one point... i'm not a fan of watching films on my own though.
Yes very :D
Have some fun. See ya for the race I suspect.
good film
ahh cool. am being dragged awaaaaayyyyy,,,,
Should probably state that "all international rates can be found on our website".
All telephone numbers on our system are free to call between. You can have a US number calling a UK number, and if they're both on our service, it's free to call between them.
Which one's that?
Am sorry to try and keep your husband at the computer to use our service. :D
Enjoy the film. :)
Do you have a linux version?
AFAIK, X-Lite 2 will do the job. I have used it successfully on Puppy Linux, so I must be doing something right!!! :D
I've consumed so many flu remedies today and none of them appear to have worked *is impatient* i don't like feeling dizzy and yucky :(
anyway if i don't get sleep now i wont stand a hope in hell of getting up for the race. night all! xx
This is probably the best SIP bible around.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_SIP_software
Which ones did you try? Lemsip or the cheap knock-offs are usually effective for a couple hours, and then they need another kick of paracetamol to be truly effective. Apart from that, I found "Vicks First Defence" the most effective thing to get rid of the darn thing.
Silly flu :( I need to learn a way to click my fingers and make illness go away!
Night :) xx
Boo. Get well soon and hopefully see ya for the race :)
Good night
Oh dear. You sound like Nick. He collects useless medications. I'm a big fan of leaving things to just go away :D Nothing ever works properly anyways.
Night Lou :)
Rest up!
Pan's Labyrinth just starting on Ch4
Wonderful film
I'm watching this weird film on Film4 entitled "A Complete History Of My Sexual Failures".
I wonder how true that title rings to my life.......
I'm watching FlashForward
Got my eye on the Haye v Ruiz fight. Quite good so far.
Night guys, need some sleep to mentally prepare myself for tomorrows race :)
Night and see you then :)
Translation: I need sleep in case I fall asleep during the red flag interval.
I'm gonna do the same as Lukeh and Lou and go to bed so's I can wake up for the race tomorrow. I'll be live-commenting it like a mad person. FBFB FTW! :D
Night guys. :)
Night. I should really sleep as well. I have work in the morning.
Gawd, night to you an all and Alison. Anyone else left?
Technically, I'm on call from 9-5, but everybody seems to have got the message that sweet FA happens on Easter weekend! It's great, I barely have to do any work!
Evening all
Steven, hello. How are you?
Night!
*closes Google Chrome and thus the SPC Doohickey*
Not so bad.
Dodgy result at our football today but not as bad as yours
It was an odd game. But yeah, we were awful.
I am surprised everyone has disappeared already when there is still 9 hours to quali
Evening. Just finished watching Qualifying having successfully avoided the result all day.
You did well to avoid information of a session like that
Full credit, I probably couldn't have managed 30 minutes :)
I've been busy at work all day, then had to watch Doctor Who (which was excellent), so not too hard.
It was an interesting session though.
I am too hungry to sleep. I have no food except easter eggs though.
Result
That's one word for it
:(
Oh I just love the grid graphic with the overlaid rain!
It's one of your five a day. Chocolate grows on a plant therefore is a vegetable
It's also one of the main food groups.
You're trying to make me fat!
And eggs is protein.
I am just hoping you open it and share ;)
You can have the whole thing if you want!
You will still be hungry though
I'm not going to eat it anyways!
So are you going to be hungry all night?
I guess so. I don't have any proper food and the shops are shut now because it's Saturday night.
I hate to say it but you need to plan better
It's fine, I've been saved from being greedy. I've had proper meals.
It's never nice being hungry though
True story. I have proper food food but I'm not going to have a meal at this time....
Surely something must be in the cupboard.
Shift change while I was watching telly?
If you have proper food that is OK. I thought you had nothing
More or less everyone left.
I turned up just as everyone left. They all need early nights
chip butty
I have curry or pasta. But nothing snacky like breadsticks or ryvita or something.
ah
I guess they all watched FP3 and had odd sleeping patterns while I was tucked up in my comfy bed.
At least you are covered if you get really hungry. No cereal?
I'm still here.
You can tell what the last two weekends have been like. When I saw the race started at 9 I thought great, I can have a lie in
Morning? all
Slept from 2am-11, watched quali = best way to do it ;)
Well, y'know, a lot of people left.
I was annoyed last week when I missed the start by 15 minutes. This week I can set my alarm for a normal work day and be up in time to watch all of the hour buildup.
In fairness I had had a bit of wine
Today though = Gonna be awesome
I just hope it is dry so they can race
F1 + BTCC Sunday = Amazini
tomorrow, yeah
Plus Superleague
today ;)
Oooh, BTCC today? Awesome. Shame I'll miss the first race but yaay.
Daily says it is the 3rd
6 hours
6!!!!
6!!!!
then we is in the wrong daily :P
Hi all, first time poster, long time listener. Just thought I'd let you know that, as a result of the thoroughly enjoyable Stuart Codling show the other day, I've gone and bought Art Of the Formula 1 Race Car. It landed on my desk this morning and is A Thing Of Beauty. The photography is just superb. A colleague and I have just spent a good 5 minutes drooling over the BRM P57 - I don't think we're going to get a lot of work done today.....
