Helllllllllloooooo!!! Why am I so happy, you are all wondering? Well, it’s because F1 has sprung back into life after a couple of months of slumber.  Testing has begun and so have the launches in earnest!

To be honest, there’s so much news today that I couldn’t possibly cover it all in one daily post – so I have been selective and I will point you in the right direction.  Apologies for this in advance ;)

Firstly, the launches.  We have now had 8 teams launch their cars and of course Christine and Mr C have been very busy covering them all for you – both while recovering from sickness, I should add.  Anyway, if you want to read all of the launch posts, then please click on this handy bit.ly bundle I have made for you.

One of the links in that bundle was to some of Alex Comerford’s (f1photos) photos from his Flickr Set – check the rest out here.  Also, ScarbsF1 has been busy in Valencia analysing the new cars – some highlights are the strange nose on the Mercedes, the Roll blade on the new Lotus, front-facing sidepod exhausts on the Renault and a very small rear end on the Williams.  He’s promised to write technical articles on each of the cars in the next few days, so check out his blog here.

One of the things linked to today was also an in car video of a Sauber C30 demonstrating a moveable wing – I didn’t realise the system was able to work so quickly!

Christine has also been busy collating the Tweets of The Week – but I think quote of the week has to come from Robert Kubica, courtesy of EliGP:

"I think Lotus is our sponsor. At least from what I know it is a sponsor. So I could also say it is my dream to drive for Total."

Some funny looking Polish Guy

Class.  There has been a lot of stuff written about the Lotus debacle in the last few days, not all of it good either.  To be honest, I am sick of the whole thing and I can’t be bothered linking to it.  But I will link to Joe Saward’s blog, as he has written lots of very good articles in the last few days which you should check out – and some of these were about Lotus ;)

But what do you think will happen in 2011? Why not make some predictions in this fun post? It’s really funny looking back at the end of the year and seeing how good/bad you were…

Also good to look back on are the Sidepodcast Wiki Highlights for the month – particularly the List of Things for a Happy Life page :)

Christine has written the final part to Life in The Fast Lane III – and it’s a corker.  I really enjoyed it yet again and I hope that there will be a fourth part soon …

Some last minute plugs for you – Leigh on the F1 Testing, Alianora on a MiniNaBloPoMo, a joint post from Steven and Kai on the upcoming Superbowl game and Lukeh on why Sam’s Town is his favourite Killers album.

Speaking of the Killers … can you play guitar? I can’t for the life of me and neither can Sebastian Vettel.  Doesn’t stop him from trying though.  Bless!

Finally a funny story for you.  Through the Dashboard Twitter Widget of Awesomess, I have found a rather amusing but very sweary couple of guys who run a site called ‘AnotherF1Podcast’.  Now, they recently visited the Lotus factory and recorded a podcast about the affair.  It all went rather well until one of the lads tried to show the Lotus guys a wooden car he had painted in their colours.  The guys at the factory assumed he had made the whole thing from scratch and despite the two guys’ protests, things got a little out of hand!  I must admit, I had a good laugh listening to and reading about this today and I think you will too – despite the bad language :D

So that’s all from me.  See you in the comments and I hope you are looking forward to the testing as much as I am!

P.S. - As I am going on holiday next Monday, I won't be able to write my daily post for the next three weeks. So if you would like to volunteer for a guest post, let Christine know or sign up on the Guest Post page here...
