It is Sunday. Mr C and I enjoyed a nice day off from Sidepodcast yesterday, which involved watching the tennis, blogging a bit, catching up on RSS feeds, and commenting. Okay, technically not going completely cold turkey but we have already established that isn't possible. Here are some of the things going on at the moment:
- Ollie has written a fantastic guide to Goodwood. The Festival of Speed is next weekend, and if you've never been before there are plenty of handy tips and some invaluable advice to help you along your way.
- There are plans for a new Sidepodmeetup afoot on the wiki. This time heading to a new Continent, Bassano and Journeyer are heading up the plans to meet in a completely different timezone to us. If you're around and about for the as yet unconfirmed meet, please visit the wiki and sign up.
- This has nothing to do with F1 at all, but I wrote a post earlier about my top five favourite modern Doctor Who episodes, and Lukeh was inspired to write his own thoughts on the up to date Who series'. Please let us know your thoughts if you're a fan, because we're really missing the series this year.
There will be a show later on today, probably starting about 6pm, although we are not confirmed on that time yet. We did enjoy starting later last week because the show was out before the day was done, but it is a bit of a wrench being ready for 6. Stay tuned though, and we'll let you know asap. See you in the comments.
Are you guys going? (I know, I should probably just read the wiki. I'm heading over there now...)
Quick plug for today's daily thread - a blog post on my weekend at Silverstone:
http://zerodownforce.blogspot.com/2009/06/so-nick-about-your-beard.html
I just uploaded a video of me doing a lap on GP2 in the Brawn. No shot of the car from the outside, it's all in the cockpit. But I'm only starting, will be doing more so I'll have better views.
Done this with just throttle help and auto gears on. Rest of the aids, such as auto brakes and best line showing are off. I really do know Monaco like the back of my hand........even if I do make a few mistakes here.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDjbB0qB4eE
That just makes me want to dig out my GP2
Evening all :)
evening :)
Good morning new daily.
I need some help with some words for this http://drop.io/hidden/bebbro43lkcu1m/asset/bWVtbw== .. if you can suggest anything can you put them on the wiki please. ty
I will sort it
Wiki page done
http://wiki.sidepodcast.com/page/Song+lyrics
Thanks Steven :D
Now all we need to do is get the night shift to read it and make suggestions and then the same for the morning shift
Hello all
Morning Joe
wad'up Joe
Hey, watching the Indycar race and they used the term National Championship. Kudos to them to know their place
Is the Indycar race tonight? I thought it was tomorrow.
Nope night race at Richmond, 3/4 mile track.
Is the new Top Gear series #13?
Yep
Yah
Cheers all, gonna watch the first episode tonight.
I have an IRL stream on indycar.com. Thanks Joe
Glad you could watch, it's a good race. Hoping for Marco to ruin his chances with USF1
The free stream is awesome. Choice of five cameras. Are you watching Bernie??
Bit late for me to stay with it, if there's another hour or more to run.
Besides I'm still several races behind and I really don't like watching out of sequence, so I'll catch up later.
Bed for me though, see ya :-)
Indycar does have some really great ideas
Of course not - he's asleep! :P
I thought it was terrible?
The main cam only shows the leader and the four onboards are tiny. My opinion may be biased because I never got a clean stream on it.
Too bad they ruined it with the politics.
See you Pat.
Still way better than what we get in F1.
I have just started playing with it. You can get telemetry from any driver
Night Pat
One thing they need is a new chassis. That Dallara is butt-ugly, but it's good competitiion for a spec-series
Yes, IRL are trying, that's the main thing.
Going for Tony Kanaan, I bought beer at 7-11 earlier
How many laps is the IRL race?
300
Long way to go then
loads of fun to go
so I'm awake early and had big plans to get things done. Possibly even leaving the house to get some shopping done. I have since discovered I have forgotten how to get out of bed though.
So stay in bed, what time is it where you are?
Stay in bed and write song lyrics then
http://wiki.sidepodcast.com/page/Song+lyrics
11:25 AM it should be. :D
Oh my god, I couldn't stay in bed past 0800 if you had a gun to my head
told you it was early ;)
Yeah, early for lunch maybe
who am I to talk, I have a mandatory nap at 1400
:D I am unfamiliar with times before noon on weekends. Didn't help that I went to bed at 7am.
Yikes...or crickey! Must have been fun
Wimbledon. :D
Tennis :D
Roger that, forgot about your tennis fetish. Hope all is going your way there
Amy did you see the outtakes of Lewis and Heikki doing some promo?
yep, turned it into my ringtone
It was very neat to see
its nice to see that they appear to get on really well. I couldn't imagine some of the current team mates joking around like that.
You mean like the Hamilton/Alonso commercial a couple years ago. Yeah, Heikki has always seemed like a good guy, Peter Winsor interviews him alot in his prerace for Speed TV in the US, so we see him alot
ooh very nice. We just get Peter Windsor interviewing Mark Webber 2 or 3 times per race.
In other news, I was just talking to my aunty and she said she got up at midnight to watch Roger play. It's totally genetic.
Subtle mention here for:
http://wiki.sidepodcast.com/page/Music
*goes away*
I forgot Winsor was an Aussie, and we always see him with Webber also in the prerace. Just watching the Indycar race here and enjoying a beer or two
you'll probably kill me for asking this, but what nationality is Federer?
Yankees won 5-0. Mets only managed one hit
Great!.....lots of sarcasm
Swiss. Like Buemi. And Swiss cheese.
He is Swiss. I assume there must be a Finnish part of Switzerland that no-one knows about
That's one thing about being Scottish. Sarcasm is assumed
LOL. I was thinking he was from the US, I guess not. Love playing tennis, but don't watch it
How the hell does a guy from Scotland become a Yankee's fan?
In football(soccer) there is a saying that you don't pick your team. Your team picks you. A few years ago when I first started watching baseball on TV I saw a couple of Braves games and was probably one game away from being a Braves fan then I saw th Yankees and they chose ,e.
Hugs to Sidepodians ... I wish I could stay and play but I have a dumb essay to write. GRRRR! WHY CAN'T ESSAYS JUST WRITE THEMSELVES? GRRRR.
Essay Tremaning.
Leave a voicemail. Nick left a Tremayne voicemail last night and felt much better for it. At least until he sobered up this morning
I'm firmly attached to teams in Florida, Rays, Buccaneers, Dolphins and Jaguars. You watch American football?
Helio is in the wall.
I watched NFL since the early 80s but have missed a few seasons. In all that time I have neer felt an attachment to one team. There have been teams I have liked at different times but never one that was my team
Poor Mutoh and Patrick. Oh well, looks like it'll be between the Ganassi boys and Rahal.
If you are looking for something else to think about Nikki you could try helping Jackie with soe lyrics
http://wiki.sidepodcast.com/page/Song+lyrics
My team, the Buccaneers will be playing in London, I think this year. The NFL is like a drug to me, not as strong as F1 though
Love to see Rahal win
Helio - It was all Wheldon's fault
Agreed. :D
Come on Dario
I fear team orders have enter the picture
They have them here too, then? Awww, a shame.
The commentators aren't even discussing it, though. Is it a taboo topic?
Commentators said no team orders.
I think it's something they conveniently avoid, but it's not nearly like it is in F1
You are the devil on my shoulder! Nooo! Must ... write ... paper ... !
Need any help from us? :D
what's the paper about?
Looked that way. The gap got closed right down then held
Dixon wins, wins, wins!
He's called the Iceman too?
Would that be me by any chance?
Joe, the paper is about user-centered design of websites for international/multicultural audiences.
And yes, Steven, you are the procrastination devil. :)
It is normal for sidepodcast commenters to assist with assignments
Sounds like something Mr C can sink his teeth into. :D
I could help you if it were about the best way to chill a pint glass or when to split pairs at the blackjack talbes. You're on your own brother
I wouldn't call it cheating though
Oh good. I have never been described as that before. Jackie is going to sing live on Sunday night if we can sort out some lyrics and you wouldn't want to be to blame for her being disappinted. I would try myself but it is 3:30am here so well past song writing time.
Straw poll, perhaps: does the design of a website reflect the culture in which it was built, or have sites moved towards universality in layout?
Well, that sounds awfully bookish. Sigh.
There are a few people who could assist with that but none of them ar here now. I think Lukeh did an assignment recently on something similar and got lots of help.
It's not cheating it is research
this is so cool. A global communtiy looking to help a brother. Proud to be a SPCer
Amen, so true
Hmmm. Good question. I think it's moved more towards a universal layout. The presence of sites like Blogger and Wordpress (which provide templates for their users) usually means that it's rare for people to do their own thing in terms of design beyond the basic look and feel.
Erm... is Nikki a guy or a gal?
Very true. :)
All girl. http://wiki.sidepodcast.com/account/nikitafullmoon
There are some sites which could be from any country on the planet but there are sites I have been on where I have been able to identify the country just by looking at it. There is a definite froup of sites which could only be from the USA. They are not top level sites but there is a definite US look.
I thought so. Got confused by Joe for a second there. :D
Sorry Nikki, it's so cool to be part of a global community helping a SISTER out
Her name is on the list for the all female sidepodpanel and the pic on the wiki looks female to me
Here's a fantastic example from Belgium. It's no wonder they're bankrupt. http://www.sabena.com
Oops... Will rush to the wiki then.
No biggie. We're all just bytes on machines here. :D
And thanks everyone for the help! How the heck will I cite this?
That's a throwback to the 1990s. ;)
I used to work with a Belgian who told everyone that sabena should stand for Such A Bad Experience, Never Again
:D
Dixon won? woo!
Hee hee!
And, excerpt from my essay:
“The presence of sites like Blogger and Wordpress (which provide templates for their users) usually means that it’s rare for people to do their own thing in terms of design beyond the basic look and feel” (Journeyer, 2009 June 27, online forum discussion)
I <3 the internet.
Yes, he did. Steven Roy would've preferred Dario. :D
LOOOOVE it! :D
(It's still June 27 here.)
I feel a sense of loss since Milka was not racing.
He was lucky. Definitely team orders. Dario was taking chunks out of him.
Okay, now I've really got to get writing. If I get done I'll try to tune in for the show tomorrow (for me) later today (for you).
Bye, everyone! Thanks for the help and support!
Amy is there a typical New Zealand or Australian look for a website. We are trying to help Nikki
Good luck Nikki. You really should try to make the live show. They are so much fun
I don't think so. I couldn't pick a site made in NZ or Aus from one made in USA or UK. Might just be me though.
what time to they usually start
Her assignemnt is on whether there is a universality of design or if there is a cultural variance so I guess wou have answered it
With TG on, they usually record at around... 2 PM EST.
Whoops - I think it's 1 PM EST.
Just now they start 6pm Uk / 1pm EDT. Normally they start an hour later but the new series of Top Gear has started so the show is early to avoid a clash
Okay add 5 hrs for US, so 1700?
As Steven said, it should be 1 PM your time.
What if I'm playing golf...this won't work...wake up Mr. C. We have to talk
:D
Leave him a voicemail
All right, I'm done for the night. will think about the voicemail. See you guys!
Good night, Joe!
Sidepodcast is more fun that golf. Besides you have to allow for the vagaries of sidepodtime. The show will never start on time. It can be a minute late and on occasion where major technical problems occur it can be an hour late. Book an early tee time.
Night Joe
Hehe I'm up having a morning coffee and checking email as you do and see that the wiki sidepodaddiction has been updated to include live commenting on your iPhone (and I presume netbook as well). Oh dear, staight from level 6 to level 11 in one go. 5 stages overnight, that's almost as fast as Amy (sorry Amy)
Morning morning
Morning, ladies. :)
Hiya, how are you this very fine day?
Have a tummyache, sadly. :(
Otherwise, I'm OK.
Ooh that's not so good. For some reason I feel all full of the joys of spring today
I'm having this debate with myself in my head .. go shopping or do the ironing. Difficult decision huh?
Hmmmm!! Hard decision. Alas I have none such decisions to make. Head back to the grindstone for me....
You at work?
I think so - Alison's a barista.
Heh. :P
Ah cool, I love coffee
I'm not at work now!! That'd be impressive multi-tasking....
But yeah I have to work weekends :( Day off tomorrow though
Do you manage to get your days off on F1 racedays?
Erm.... Not so much. I do the rotas though, I can usually move my shift around suitably. Saturday mornings are a lost cause for me now though!!
Ooh don't know if my interest would hold out if I was watching races that I'd taped. That's dedication for you.
Nothing usually happens on Saturday mornings - but it does suck to be working on a weekend.
Haha! I was watching classic F1 on JTV earlier. :D
Is Qualy not on in the morning? It's been that long since I watched it that I don't know....
They move all the races around so they're in the daytime here. I think I must be the only person who'd prefer them at 4am
Ah well, that's different :D but watching a race 3 or 4 hours later when the result has been splashed about on the news and the web I just might not bother (unless I liked the result ;) )
If you're in the UK, it's usually on at 1 PM BST.
Where are you from, Alison?
Agreed, agreed. :D
I wouldn't watch it all if I knew the result!! That would be hardcore....
I am a Brit yes.
Yup, so it should be 1 PM your time. Have you been around for live commenting during quali or race?
Well guys, decision has been made and I'm off for a bit of shopping. Catch you later in time for the show. byeeeee
Later Jackie. :)
Nope never!! :(
Awww, that's a shame! You should join us for those - they're tons of fun. It also helps you keep track on other stuff they may not be showing on TV.
When was the last time you saw a race live on TV?
I was here for the Parade lap last Sunday then had to go which struck me as suitably stupid....
That's because of work? Darn. :( Would you be able to join us for Germany in 2 weeks?
Erm I watched the first 3 of the season live but none after that.
I think I'll be around for Germany yeah. That's more internet related than work.
Anyways, I have to leave now. I hate my job!!
Hope things pick up for you, Alison. Later.
"Steal from one, you're a theif. Steal from many, that's just research" ;)
Morning all :)
Hah, things picking up hasn't got off to a good start.... Why can't I find my carkeys??
Hello, Scott. :)
Under the table, maybe?
Erm, I think there's some spam on drop.io...
Indeed.
Morning everyone. How are we all on this fine morning?
Been away for a few days. Missed anything?
I'm cold. Have a delicious looking cheesecake next to me but can't eat it because it's cold too.
maybe you need some warm chocolate sauce to pour on top?
It's too hot in my house. Everyone else has the heater on far too high.
I'm such a heater nazi. Won't somebody please think of the power bill!
Well, I don't pay it so I can't complain about that, but it is seriously far too hot in here. I'm almost sweating. It's 8pm in the middle of winter and my window is open and I'm sweating!
Top Gear tonight as well :D
*quickly rushes over to BBC2 site to see what's coming up*
WOW! Tonight's show is gonna be epic :D
For those who don't want to know, DO NOT click this link:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00lkmth
Stephen Fry has been on it before hasn't he?
Also, yeah, I want to see that race.
it was "Mostly Moist" last time he was on the track.
Sean, don't spoil. :P
I don't think it'll be as good as EP 1, but it's still gonna be very good. :D
So he'll set a better time this time?
Ah, so they give him another run. I'm guessing 'mostly moist' was Fry's way of putting 'wet'.
I wonder which show is gonna feature Lewis' return lap :D
G'morning.
There's also info on next week's show as well. Let's just say I think Lou is gonna be quite happy looking at who the SIARPC is ;)
Maybe next week?
Morning, Lukeh. :D
Morning.
Looking at the info for next week, there's no sign of it.
Howdy!
'Ello.
Might be week after next, then, I suppose. That would be EP 4. How many EPs are in this series? Seven, I think?
Yup, 7.
I'm up in Staffordshire at the moment. Any other Sidepodders near here?
Hello to all.
Morning Christine. How goes it? :)
Morning Christine.
Morning!
Not bad at all.
No tennis today, guess I'll have to concentrate on F1 stuff again.
*thumbs up*
Ahh, nothing new to report overnight really. Other than we've got a new stage of Sidepodaddiction. It now goes all the way up to 11, eh Lukeh? ;)
I've conquered the cheesecake. Now I feel a little ill.
Cheesecake: "Sorry, Amy"
Hehe, brilliant :D
I think a stage 8 is needed: live commenting daily happening, like eating etc.
I believe I missed that. Care to enlighten me?
Sidepodtwittering.
ah true
Morning!
Is dreaming about sidepodcast a valid stage of sidepodaddiction? Or just the withdrawal effects of staying away for 24 hours?
happens to us all!
He drove the old car - the Liana - he hasn't driven the Lucetti yet.
The whole series looks pretty epic (spoilers), I don't know how they keep coming up with such great stuff.
A lot of what they're doing is in the current Top Gear mag.
magazine? as in on paper? why would I want one of those, I have the internet ;)
So, what time is the show planned for today, 6pm or 7pm?
6pm, allows 2 hours for Debrief.
Still as per the daily post.
Sweet, only have to stay up until 3am until it starts, not 4!
I'll probably stay up for the Debrief - but will I make it all the way to the end of TG? :D
That is the real question.
Has this been brought up here?
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/76602
All I will say is this - Steven Roy is, sadly, right.
I do find this funny:
That's funny - most people in Italy would probably say it's LDM who's boss.
Well, I can't say I'd be sad to see him go. Whether he stands for election or just resigns, i can't see him winning an election at the moment.
I'm afraid he'd win if he ran again. After all, let's face it, these people "talking him into" running again? That's just him telling the others to vote for him again.
Max needs to learn that we can go an entire weekend without the need to read yet another interview/press statement about him. Also, all the PR spiel in the world is not going to make me think he doesn't want to be FIA President.
Agreed.
But if anything, the reason he's doing this is because he is being ignored by the people that matter. Which is why he wants to stay in power - so that he isn't ignored.
At the same time though, it could be saying 'call an early election, get it over with.' You may be right though.
I don't think he'd go for an early election. He'd want to keep it in October to prevent FOTA from having enough time to do a breakaway.
He won't do it, but if he were to lose I'd prefer that he did. It's just like the state governement here. Everyone knows that Labor ain't going to win the next election, get it over with now by calling an early election. They obviously won't, but it would make things so much easier.
Who in this situation does he define as the people that matter? If it's the WMSC members, then why the need to do so in the public eye, and in a British paper that isn't even that well regarded? If it's the car companies, or even FOTA then the article is saying what, that the FIA is bigger than just Max; we've heard that one before, and I can't see the spiel working on them, either.
Max knows FOTA hate him; but if he's in power, they have no choice but to work with him - and Max likes that.
Maybe that's what this is - Max luring FOTA (and everyone else) into a false sense of security before he drops some huge bombshell that throws everything out of harmony again.
Still no reaction from FOTA - they really ARE ignoring him. Is there a way they can cut him out of the process if he's in power?
The FIA Presidency really should be bigger than a spat with F1 though. It's like a country's president arguing with the head of the teacher's union, and using it as justification for re-election even though he's had 4 fixed terms and the constitution originally said he was only allowed 2.
LDM said he wants all this to stop anyway. Perhaps it's a case of "You go your way, we'll go ours, we'll meet up later and see what the situation is."
But I thought the whole point of the war getting prolonged was Max being in power?
I think we need to see exactly what was agreed in these talks that supposedly saved F1 rather than just what the media is reporting. That way we might understand a little better what the root of the problem is.
But unless they talk about it, we won't know anything about it. And it doesn't look like they're talking about it.
Also, if anyone wrote/signed anything. A 'gentlemen's agreement' is all well and good, but it isn't enforceable and any party can choose to ignore it at any time, which they already appear to have done.
I was referring to the talks they held last week. I dunno, maybe there's one or two things they've kept hush hush from the media and that's probably one of the reasons why this supposed peace has been broken once again.
LDM couldn't have been that stupid to simply rely on a handshake... could he? Even if there was a written contract, Max may have found a loophole already.
So you're thinking Max may not just be getting angry because LDM was "dancing on his grave"?
A handshake and the joint press conference, perhaps. I can't imagine that such a document wouldn't have been leaked by now, if it really did exist.
Max said himself that FOTA had interpreting what had been agreed differently, which must mean there's probably something they're not telling us mere mortals.
Really? I thought it was only how Max would leave that was being misinterpreted?
Ah, actually you're quite right:
Max wouldn't have signed a written contract unless there WAS a loophole.
Max is just looking for an excuse. Even if that rumor didn't come out (I don't think FOTA said that - there's no proof of it), he would've found another reason to want to stay in power.
But if CVC do support FOTA, would they support them in a breakaway from Max?
Oooh, just had a deja vu moment! If only I remembered what was supposed to happen next.
Or several, written in nicely arcane legal jargon that give him an out in pretty much every situation.
I get it now - even if you locked up Max, Bernie, and Luca in a room and not let them out until they had a resolution (which was indeed what happened on Wednesday), Max would go back on his word anyway once they were let out.
It didn't even take him 24 hours, and technically he had no proof that FOTA were slandering him (or he didn't produce any) so in my opinion he was always going to go back on his word.
One other conclusion - Max doesn't care so much about his reputation as much as he does about people following him in fear of him.
I think Max does care for his reputation but only within the FIA, outside of that no, I don't think he does.
Anyway, I have to go now, so bye!
Later, Rachel.
See ya!
Sun beaming in, got a nice cool cornetto, fan next to me... all I need now is a bit of formula 1 :P
Sun? I thought you lived in England? ;)
:o
Wales! Where we get even less sun :P
Ah, well, my point still stands. Although we haven't had much sunlight down here recently so I shouldn't make fun too much...
It was 27 degrees here yesterday. It's a little colder today but still nice :)
Today was the warmest day we've had for a few weeks I think, it got to 19.
I don't know how warm it is but I'm sitting in a garden.
I wish BBC Weather was more like this
That would be good.
I have a better idea - lock Max, Bernie and Luca in a room.
it's all the info you need in a handy package :)
Rate the lap:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NftTo2a7SCE
And never let them out again?
I think that was the general idea. ;)
Watching DTM now - 3-way battle for the lead. :D
So stay in bed, what time is it where you are? {Comment #43}
It's 14:09pm now. Went to bed at midnight and woke up at 8:30am.
WHAT a FINISH! :D
Sorry, was there actually some overtaking in the DTM today?
LOTS. And I mean LOTS. Sensational last 2 laps. Absolutely crazy.
Highlights RIGHT NOW:
http://www.justin.tv/shadowsports
Cheers. No surprise this was at the Norisring - it's almost a stock car circuit!
Heh. Tis true.
That was pretty good for DTM - normally they are too scared to touch each other in fear of damaging all the silly aero bits!
Cool commentators as well!
Hehe, I loved racing at the Norisring on the TOCA games :)
I suggested that once, people were concerened that they would die in the room.
I'm amazed I survived 38 hours without Sidepodcast.
Hey all.
Yo!
Good time?
G'Day!
Freakin awesome. Atmosphere was brilliant, the Brits actually did well and we all cheered when Nicki Pedersen got excluded in the semis. (Apart from the two Danes in front of us, who weren't also particularily happy when everyone started to boo Hans Anderson for falling over and making Harris excluded)
Can anyone remember if we played a voicemail from Bootneck during the last Debrief? I can relisten to check but y'all have better memories than we do.
I don't recall it, but that doesn't mean much.
I think it was just RG and Dan Brunell
*double checks*
And a happy birthday message from, Paul I think
Yep. No Bootneck. Have checked on iTunes
And thanks everyone for the help! How the heck will I cite this? {Comment #115}
Since Sidepodcast does not impose a citation method (if it did, then academically that has to be respected, provided it included enough information for someone else to find the referenced item), cite it like an electronic journal with modifications as needed. Yes, blogs are different from bulletin boards, but the specifics of citation do not change because they can be referenced equally precisely - especially since "me" implemented numbered comments.
Your department or institutional handbook should tell you how to cite a website correctly. If not, try reading the University of Sheffield's PDF on the subject}. If you can't get it to load, or it's gobbledygook, then I would suggest the following (and if you use my version, try to ask a member of staff for clarification of the correct approach before handing in the work):
Author* (Year). Entry title. Site title [online], date original entry published (comment number/number range). Available from: URL [Accessed date you last checked it was there].
* - It says "author surname, initial." in the guidebook I linked to, but use common sense if that's not apparent. The main thing is that the author is identifiable.
Ace, thanks all :)
For example, if I wanted to reference my previous comment, I'd write:
La Canta, A.* (2009). Daily: 28th June 2009. Sidepodcast [online], 28 June 2009 (304). Available from: http://www.sidepodcast.com/2009/06/28/daily-28th-june-2009/#comment-373623 [Accessed 29 June 2009].
* - Or "Alianora La Canta", if I wasn't sure where the surnames and initials in the author's name were.
Note that the green colouring of links in your printed academic submissions may lead to reduced marks for not following institutional style guidelines.
That's spot on I'd say. Have already referenced online sources for university work in the exact same fashion.
Note: the in-line reference would be (Author surname, date) just like most other references.
What's wrong with Nicki Pedersen?
Crowds never forget. Last year in Cardiff, he should have been excluded twice, referee though excluded the other drivers involved. Everyone disagreed with it. 12 months later, it seems no body still likes him.
Pah. Everyone wants to knock the champion back a peg or two. Great way of levelling the field I guess.
Was there plenty of Noise and Airhorns? I went to the one at Parken last year and I should have taken earplugs - fantastic show!
Am having a go at making a Sidepodcar on Forza 2 myself. Won't be as good as Lukeh's but I'm bored so I thought I'd rekindle my love for the livery editor :P
Airhorns, hated them at the start. Then started to love them as the evening came along, they did add to the atmosphere. And with the roof closed as well, brilliant. And when there was the handbag scene with Scotty Nicholls and Emil Safyutdinov, ooh.
Well, he won't be champion this year I can safely say that :)
Same here - they closed the roof at Parken as well so it was VERY noisy but very good!
What's with the handbags? Bit o'biff?
So I hear...
just a quick fyi: we now have 549 signups to the spc fantasy racers league!
Oooh, please one more!!
Yeah, Emil got angry with Scotty for an overtake and it went all close on the inlap and the handbags happened.
thats quite a lot!
Ello all,
Another 11 miles on the bike today, it's very hot outside, that was a toughy!!
How are we all?
Good, but only two miles on a shopping bike i'm afraid!
Very good thanks mate.
Glad to hear it, anyone been up to anything exciting today? or anything mundane?
I went out to a friend's flatwarming - was very good and was out all night. She's Hungarian so we drank lots of home-made palinka. So I'm taking it easy today...
I has hammerhead hangover...
I think we're all just sat here waiting for the Debrief and then Top Gear. I'm making a Sidepodcar on Forza 2.
hahahaha, i saw that coming a mile off.
Woke up, breakfast, flew home, came on sidepodcast.
Awesome, sounds like a good day!
I'm blogging... wanted to watch MotoGP at some point (I know what happened though...)
wooop, am looking forward to Top Gear tonight, have missed it :D
It was ... we didn't get home until 4:30am!
I'm still two series behind. Must. Catch. Up!
haha, i'd be dead by then.
where were you before you flew?
You need "Dave"
Best.Channel.Ever
Top Gear repeats all day every day plus other great stuff
Cardiff for the speedway.
It isnt funny :( It is most unfunny...
We were. We Thriller-Zombied home!
aahh, aweosme
Dave has got me a little sick of previous Top Gear. It repeats it too much too often :(
did you need ear defenders?
We have a channel that plays a lot of Top Gear. I'm just too busy ATM...
A lot of people seemed not to have them so opted not to.
True story,
i don't watch it much recently, i used to love it because of 'who's line is it anyway'
but then i discovered 4od had hundreds of episodes of it on.
Crowds never forget. Last year in Cardiff, he should have been excluded twice, referee though excluded the other drivers involved. Everyone disagreed with it. 12 months later, it seems no body still likes him. {Comment #311}
Sounds like Piquet Jr. at Silverstone (who, at least on the Friday, was generally greeted with laughter due to a quiet resentment that he stayed in F1 in 2009) or Hamilton in Spain (who, in 2008, was greeted with much jeering because he was blamed for Alonso's troubled 2007 season)...
...
*runs off to 4oD*
ooh, what ya blogging about?
it was a while ago, not sure they're still there
What I've knocked up so far:
http://drop.io/sidepodcast/asset/6685bb5b-4e21-4f51-b79c-41de39a12d29-jpg
oooh nice
way-hey!
Doing Driver Consitencies for Britain.
I plan to compare Webber Vs. Vettel in Qualfying for 2009 so far, and also look at the differences between fuel usage stats from the F1 yearbook and those observed this year as they are different under the new regs...
What car is that?
Corvette Z06.
did you need ear defenders? {Comment #342}
I needed ear defenders for the klaxons at Silverstone. I remember taking off the defenders after Saturday practise - and sticking them back on 30 seconds later as five or six of them were blown for no apparent reason. They weren't as loud as the Typhoon though...
Surely you mean - "Dave - the best channel....In the world."?
Cheggers is back
ah cool. good man. just reading yer blog, looking for FR stats and stuff for tonight's show.
Wow - that's a curvy bum for a Corvette!
Still 6PM BST by the way? Need to coordinate din-dins with wifey!
Fingers crossed, yes.
Is this the fuel themed show?
In fact, as it is essentially the half way point of the season we're doing a sort of Fantasy Racers half-term report.
Anyone who wants a shoutout, got any thoughts on how your season is going, having a great battle with someone, let us know and we'll squeeze you in the show.
We'll introduce hashtags into the comments for this one. #fr and the funky new filter will help us find them :)
That must be a Red Bull and Nacho show then as that's what Mr. C. says he's fuelled on!
Talking of Nachos, i've had Nachos for the first time in ages this week, and its not a race weekend. Boo
It isn't themed, but fuel gets a mention, yes.
On track pics of the SidepodCorvette are on the drop now :P
Ooooh looks good. Which track?
Tsukuba in Japan.
Can ya tell what it says yet? :D
http://drop.io/sidepodcast/asset/d36f969c-a3e3-4f85-89eb-23b5cbbb6557-jpg
you sir, have too much time on your hands ;)
It's a Sunday and I've nothing better to do :D
ehehehe know the feeling
Right, i need your help on this fine sunday, its not very cheery help but i want to know of famous people who've died in the past year (without saying the words Michael or Jackson) for something i'm writting
Wikipedia has such things: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009#Deaths
http://www.whosdatedwho.com/celebrities/people/list/celebrity-categories.asp?FD=yod
Wikipedia is your friend ;)
no shoutouts for your #fr teams?
Thank ya, unfortunately i haven't heard of many of them, need to do some research.
#fr Chucking The Rule Book Out. More like Chucking the Winning Formula Out. Useless, poor and rubbish. Maybe I shoulda read that rule book first.
Still beating Mr C though.
Excellent, thanks RG :)
Heehee, watching Spinal Tap at Glastonbury. Brilliant as ever.
#fr Honda's Helping Hand, after a bad few weeks i find myself in 60th place, a bit of a drop from my original place in the top 20, currently hoping to get back into the top 50 and overtake rubber goat racing in 48th, since i overtook mrs c a few weeks ago ;)
hi all :)
Wonderful, thanks Lou.
Team RubberGoat Racing Press Release:
Well, it's half term in the 2009 Season and Team RubberGoat Racing have shown undivided loyalty to it's 6 drivers: Button, Barrichello, Vettel, Glock, Kubica and Sutil through thick and thin, wins and spins, great passing and donkey driving.
The team has done well this year, with at least half the drivers scoring well in each of the races so far, meaning the team is in 48th place in the Sidepodcast Fantasy Racers League.
Team Boss Gavin Brown: "I am happy so far with our performances this year. We have had some strong drives but there is still plenty of room for improvement. No driver on our roster should think of themselves as irreplacable, especially that German who runs like a girl and the Polish guy who complains a lot and looks like Lurch from the Addams Family."
The team will be competing in the next round of the 2009 Fantasy Racers F1 championship at the Nurburgring on the 12th of July.
I see no hashtag ;)
rude!
Just kidding, it's awesome!!
#fr having Heikki in my team hasn't really worked for me all season. I am remaining optimistic and expect a great haul of points in Germany ;)
but he quoted a hashtag, so it will still show up ;)
Ooooh, very good :)
#fr Formula Muse - I think I'm about 60th at the moment; no need for hysteria about such a position but at the same time, it's not something the knights of cydonia would rave about. Time is running out in all fairness, so as long as my drivers don't get sucked into a supermassive black hole, you won't see me and my team in a fury about our fortunes, it could soon turn into bliss and end up in me feeling good.
#fr If the Back of the Pack Racing team falls any further they will be at the back of the pack. I think it's time for a change in management.
♥
:)
Couple of pieces of sim racing news. First off, Kaz Yamauchi has said the GT5 release date unveiling will be "soon"
http://www.virtualr.net/gran-turismo-5-date-to-be-revealed-soon/
Plus, Turn 10 have said on their blog on the FM3 website:
That's as in this coming Tuseday :D
you need shooting for that :D
:D
Ooh.. awesome
hahahaha :D love it :D
you're 70th btw ;)
#fr I think so that we have a good package for sure but we have to wait and see about the new rule but it's the same for everybody.
#fr the Journeyer-owned and operated Scuderia Mille Miglia is running a solid, if unspectacular 104th. Brawn drivers Button and Barrichello have been regular fixtures in the team since Australia, with both drivers scoring well. RBR drivers Webber and Vettel joined them too late for their 1-2 in China to count, but both are still scoring very well. After an initial struggle finding a 5th driver, Kubica has now fit that role very well. The goal now of Scuderia Mille Miglia is to finish the season in the Top 100 and to beat Christine's Sidepodcast Racers outfit.
it's dropped me 10 places for overpunning the team!
:D :P ;)
#fr Zero Downforce - The team which bares the name of my blog is my highest placed team, albeit 192nd. But with a decent points haul from Silverstone and both Brawn and Red Bull drivers making up the squad, I think there's a chance a shift up the order might be possible. But then again, I've not really paid attention to FR for a while now, so what do I know?! For sure, it will be tough. :D
#fr still inside the top 20, 'Force Honda B Team' has vastly out performed it's previous incarnation 'Better than Massa in Oz' followed by 'Better than Massa at Silverstone' and has very rarely left the top 20. Following a strategy of Diffuser gate teams followed by BUY BUY BUY RED BULL, the luck continues. We've worked hard and developed the car into a real race winner, we'll keep the development going and hopefully by the end of the season we should be somewhere near the top.
hello all :)
#fr Empty Stands - not last. :D
(547th, but then I only started in time for Silverstone)
Hello again, it seems not that long ago that you left!
almost 4 whole hours ;)
!!! :o
Are you serious?
yes. time flies when you're on sidepodcast?
Must do. I was sort of lurking for a lot of the time, but still, I would've guessed about 2.5 hours max.
I rarely do this because i don't like to plug my non-motorsport blog on here, but occationally i write something i think is half decent;
http://jonwaldock.wordpress.com/
Plugety Plug Plug :)
Greetings people of sidepodcast
Evening
What on earth did I miss last night?
howdy :) had a good day?
I have no idea
Good (early) morning.
Can't wait for tonights show!
So far so good. I am looking forward to the show.
Did Jackie get her lyrics sorted out?
i'm starting to think that too... but i figured it probably wasn't best to read through all the comments after an evening of drinking much pims and rose...
Mixing your drinks at your age. Shocking!
:P
Probably couldn't hear the response anyway, I'd just imagine a big air horn.
Ooooh, just found the boxing match from last night. Not biased in any way to Scotty Nicholls, but the Russian guy's mechanic shouldn't have barged him like that.
Mechanic? In a boxing match?
Jackie was looking for some help with lyrics last nght for a song she wants to sing on the show. I have no idea if she got finished or not but the details are at http://wiki.sidepodcast.com/page/Song+lyrics
Have you seen those guys? They are literally machines.
Boxing match was at the speedway. Was an expression
ahhh right 8-)
If you can call it a fight, they are all pathetic really.
Good (mid)morning from Alberta, Canada, everyone.
Wow. Thanks Alianora! comment #306 And thanks to Journeyer comment #105 for keying me in to social media as a driver in the internationalization / universalization of websites.
And I should also thank Lukeh for saving me the price of a new X-Box. It was, in fact, on warranty (for another month!) and they're sending me *the label* to ship it back to them. Hooray!
And now back to my essay. *sigh*
I came up with:
"We know that Bernie's senile
But all the while it seems he is in constant denial
At least he's saner than Max"
:P
Congratulations must go to wordpress;
After approving 2 comments on my blog, they sent me an email telling me i had 2 comments...really? i hadn't noticed. Silly people
Was one of them mine?
Sure was :)
Another pluggety plug plug:
http://zerodownforce.blogspot.com/2009/06/so-nick-about-your-beard.html
;)
Are you sure it is an essay and not a book?
It is a grad school essay. So, kind of the same. I'm at 12 pages plus four of just works cited.
:(
Did you get lots of help from th European morning shift at sidepodcast? That's where the real experts are
It doesn't exactly make me Mystic Meg
Wow. I did more work last night than I thought! 16 pages now! Plus 5 for works cited. Crikey.
Did your write any song lyrics
No, your procrastination devilry only went so far. ;)
I haven't started yet. I can't believe you slandered my good name. :)
*sits back in the daily quietly*
You're so good.
Finger on lips, sat up straight and everything!
Skype with camera is BRILLIANT on the EeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeePC :)
am currently sitting looking at a pile of psychology work i still have to plough through. i'm in for a fun evening :)
Is your hand held up with your fingers spread out? because then you would be uber good
Top Gear will cheer me up, that's for sure :) Gonna be a good'un and all :D
What are they up to this week?
Stephen Fry is on. I know nothing more.
* attempts to clicks fingers to make it go away all completed*
I'm not very good at magic sadly :(
you'll have to wait and see ;)
Just think teenagers. That's all I'm saying. ;)
Sounds like fun for me then
I don't like waiting :P
YAY! Here it is :D
whoop!
How's THAT for a race! :D
and what a location ;)
I'd love to go see Top Gear being recorded sometime...
ahaha brilliant... this ep has come a bit late for me :D eheheh
typical budget of 2.5k at 17, yeah I wish :(
step 1:find woman
step 2: cross fingers legs and toes...
i nearly got tickets :( but didn't. sign up to the applause store if you want to try get tickets. it's free.
what they need to do is put their parents on their insurance... brings the price right down...
Was that Stig using the water cooler? :D
£1700 on my mums car....i beg to differ ;)
are they meant to be gold bullions or books in the back ground?
you can't do that no more, my brother tried it and they didn't allow it
HAHAHA! Jeremy's accent :D
Looks like gold to me
ahaha see top gear think the same :D
LOL @ Hammond
"no, no accidents in the last 5 years" hehehe
cue scottish newspaper letter writer brigade attack on top gear...
you can. we did it about 3 months ago...
thanks lou :)
Hammond's Hyundai :D
They won't allow it unless the parent is the main driver
I see, well they didn't let my brother do it :D
Erm...I don't want that as a first car...
Clarkson does have a good point though
hmm... really? i'm the main driver on my insurance... i believe anyway.
buy a car your kids will want to drive into a tree?
or buy them one they will want to keep and look after?
Ah, another one of those budget challenges spending the change :D
You must be lucky then. Being female helps
Hammond - What. Is. That?!
ALOT
:D
Isnt it like 50 times cheaper the other way round?
The trouble is young guys crash a lot and there is nothing anyone can do about that
"A bangin' stereo for me tunes" *classical music* :D !
Clarkson never has any budget left and he always hits May's car...
Top Gear is getting a little predictable :P
Oh that is mean!
LMAO!
Well there is but the government wouldn't do it.
Require an IQ abouve 125 for anyone to drive a car before they are 21
I literally said "Don't say that" at the same time as Hammond :D
hahaha
i want one of those hats.. as in james's hat..
Believe me it doesn't make any difference. You guys are full of hormones and you can be the calmest, most intelligent, best trained driver and it is still only dumb luck that you live long enough to get some sense.
Reverse the Volvo up the hill
Yes........AHHHHHHHH! :D
see...that's why i'm the main driver on my car ;)
What are you saying Steven?
As I was leaving, my mate said we'll sit down soon and have a chat about my role.
Shame I didn't get that earlier, before I agreed at the last minute.
ooo hammond failed first time, as did James :) no pressure for me to pass first time then :)
i did it 3 times...
although that was mainly because i had only been to the place i did the test 3 times before.
i passed third time!
Wasn't ready the first time. Second was poor luck.
HAHAHA! James' face :D
What I am saying is that the ast majority of young guys take way too many risks in cars and think they are better and safer than they really are.
No-one would say I wasn't intelligent. I am the calmest person on the planet and I passed my advanced driving test at 19. At the age of 19 I was teaching advanced driving to an 18 year old student and a retired bank manager. I only ever had one pupil fail an advanced driving test. I was assessed as being of the standard to pass the ROSPA gold award which is the highest civilian driving qualification in Britain by a police advanced driver at the age of 20 although I never sat the test. I spent a one or two evenings a week voluntarily teaching advanced driving every week and was obsessed by it.
The reason I am here today is not that I had the right personality or training or intelligence. It is nothing more than dumb luck.
Oh yeah - here comes THE race :D
Ooooooh Lambo Murcie SV :D
No i meant you called us guys ;) i was wondering if that meant you'd not told us something
What. A. Noise.
who says they dont like cars or racing in the gulf?
he went to Arabia? to test the new lambo! recession? what recession?...
i really love this car btw..
*telling :D
New Blog Post: Driver Consistencies - Great Britain
I was typing too fast as usual. It was supposed to be young guys
i know that road! its great! :D
They did a feature on all this in a recent Top Gear mag. They also had a McMerc SLR 722 out there as well.
oh my... it looks very beautiful... more beautiful in movement than in the pics on the internet...
So the full name of this car is: Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV. Try saying that fast.
Drag race? :D
I want that SLR.
That is like the busiest road in Abu Dhabi
Now that looked like fun :D
Put it on a circuit and it won't see the Merc till it is being lapped
FXX is coming off!
Slick tyres - more Schumacher cheating
Awesome, they had to!
yep
They say wayy too much on TG just to purporsely annoy groups/people
Fry looks good.
the groups make it worthwhile.
Stephen Fry doing audible.com plugs?
Stephen Fry is so lovely in real life, well to his qi audience anyway :)
Are they bovvered? :D
Fry's twitter is aweome, if your not following, follow now :D
usa 2-0 up?
world is imploding.....
oh my... Jeremy has an iphone?!
Clarkson cruising?
I came upstairs to get away from the iPhone love in
Believe it or not I fixed my skype!!!
Me by myself (with a little help from the internet). *jumps up and down*
And Steven: No!
Actually, I came to the wrong place. See y'all later then
No what?
I thought that as well! He was a white one on last weekend's show in the train. But then later on he was using what looked like an N95.
Please tell me what you did! :D
somehow i suspect that application is going to be used for war not love after this...
yep.:(
Stephen Fry is a comedy God
Is it though? Which gay basher is going to put that in his phone and risk getting his head kicked in by another nutter
Won't help you, it's a Linux thing
I fixed my not being able to listen to streams and calling someone at the same time problem
ahaha :D i love this, brilliant :D
this is great!
Erm, Jeremy - that's not quiet!
ahahaha my new fav phrase - like custard rustling
Well done you
L.M.F.A.O! :D
Evening all
Should go in the dictionary
whilst still being funny, TG is way too staged
Hi Alison
'lol borrowed by anarchists'
love that anarchists managed to get themselves a symbol though
AHAHAHAHAHA!
Yep. Needs something to spice it up. One of the presenters has to be replaced
thank you. It only took me about 8 months.
heya
agreed
a new producer would be better
I'm laughing like a small girl here, oh man i love this
haha, there are no fires in Surrey... its too middle class
I love the handbrake turn stuff.
Why is he not using the clutch? Idiot.
What's going on??
why is he wearing light enhancing glasses?
Tooooop Gear
top Gear
You say it like he knows what he's doing ;)
Ah I see. Thought it might be something interesting..... :P
They are pretending to be 17. For most of them that means acting older than normal
Mac Bugat race now pls...
Ohhhh yes :D
Skype update: My mic still cuts out randomly and I have to reboot to make it work again, but I can live with that.
So you can be on a sidepodpanel now :)
Put them on a track and the Veyron is toast
This. Is. It. :D
The Macca is a racing car and the Bugatti is a posing car
I don't the fascination with these drag races. Run 'em around the Dubai racetrack.
That's a maybe then?
don't *get*
Frag racing like this is pointless
Drag
That was predictable
VEYRON WIIIIIINS!
It makes sense to people who dont like motorsport.
Millions more people have raced between lights than have ever been on a track
What was the point to that? They would be as well racing two trains. Put them on a track and lets see what happens. I can't believe anyone wasted the budget to do that.
What drag racing are you watching?
After all that money and technology and power...
It's only slightly faster than the F1 :D
I'd certainly have the F1 over the Veyron every time.
and now to the annoying buzzing fans in South Africa, where Brazil equalised against the US. 2-2. Not really into footie but I like the internationals and I like that the US is an improving underdog.
Racing between the lights i one thing but not to 200mph. Between the lights the Veyron would be hopeless compared to the McLaren. It didn't catch it till about 150mph
me too
Mclaren F1 (supercar) vs Bugatti Veyron in Abu Dhabi on Top Gear
Top Gear had a 4 mile piece of road in the middle east and raced a Bugatti Veyron agianst a McLaren F1.
I can't wait till I'm 17 now.
Because you are a track fan. Everyone who's not loves to see 2 cars just race, even though its pointless
I don't think it is even a contest. Given the choice who is going to take a Veyron
Enjoy your beige Volvo then.
Got it. I watched part of the show they took the mucsle cars from SF to the salt flats. The time in Reno was pretty funny
True. But if they had the road closed and the cars available to do what they did, it would have been silly not to really
It was surprisingly close, even though Bugatti have said that if you start a McLaren at 100mph and a Veyron at 0mph, the Bugatti will reach 200mph first.
Didn't show that today.
Posers who must have the biggest and most advanced.
So glad to get home from workl!! I've just handed my notice in.
I'd probably do a Hammond with a hint of James May hand break turn.
Given all the things they could have set up I think that was such a bad choice.
And of course have friends who would be kind enough to do a Clarkson on me.
Exactly. No-one with taste or sense
maybe it's just my friends, but i don't know any 17 year olds who have done any of what they said. lol :D
Is that the result of a bad few days or was it planned?
Hmmmm a combination. I'd been looking for other jobs already, I've got 2 interviews next week. I wasn't sure I was gonna actually leave until today though. I feel so much better though, I know it's the right thing.
Stereotypical really. Not looking forward to the costs.
It's always good to quit a job when that is what you want. It makes you feel much better than you think it would,
I'm 20 in a job and I still can't even think of anything like that because of insurance costs :(
Sounds like a win the lottery moment really.
I've got another 3 weeks to work for them obviously. Hopefully I'll get one of these jobs. If not, I haven't given them it in writing yet :P
Even with an insanely small, old car?
I'm looking over the summer but at the moment, I ain't finding stuff that fits into my budget. It's a little frustrating and I don't like moaning about these kind of things but knwoing you've passed and beign stuck on a bus going to work is just starting to bother me now.
Are you in a big city? Mine's a fair bit but it's not mental. I guess I'm a girl though.
wouldn't say Newport's a big city... it's a city but barely that
See my car's insured in inner city Liverpool which is about as bad as it gets.... It's a lot of money but I'm not talking thousands!
I suppose the option of a 12yr old 1 litre Metro isn't there for you as it was for me..
I only bought my car about 6 months ago but my god was it worth the overtime.... Stuck on delayed trains no more!!
Insurers just take the pee now.
My sister at the age of 18 tried to insure a 900cc 12yr old Chinquecento iirc
Cost her... £1700 third party fire and theft.
paid £300 for the car.
Hahahaha! When you're young, 3rd party isn't really cheaper though. They're worried you're gonna smash up someone else's Jag or knock their house down or something.....
http://drop.io/sidepodcast/asset/for-sale-jpg
Number 1 is available for the reasonable price of £395K
That says $2.399 million.
oh i thought that was AED.... obviously not a bargain then!
Even this one would probably be worth more than £395k
http://cache.jalopnik.com/assets/resources/2007/03/veyron_crash.jpg
Evening all. Just back from work and just bought tickets to goodwood for Sunday. How was the show?
Pretty good. Replay is up, and am editing the podcast as we speak.
Just downloaded a bunch of apps for my train journey tommorow, now I want to be on the train trying them out. :D
How much do you normally edit out? I've never heard a non-podcast show.
We record for an hour and a half, maybe two hours. Finished show is anywhere between 30 mins and 40. It's not usually a lot of content being dropped, but the big gaps we do as we read the comments and prepare for the next bit.
There are live shows on the site which you can watch/listen to. If you have only ever heard the podcasts the live shows will be a surprise.
Ah I see. Thanks :)
Yeah, I know. I just keep an inconvenient working schedule!
we were discussing hill climbs the other day:
http://axisofoversteer.blogspot.com/2009/06/doune-right.html
I know the feeling - if I am working on a race day I have to make sure no one tells me the result and then watch the iPlayer replay as soon as it appears (which seems to take ages by the way). I can't watch the Debrief live as I'm usually still watching iPlayer.
Trying out the Superstars V8 Racing demo on 360.
Hah yeah. My downfall is usually podcasts downloading automatically with the result in the title....
While on the subject of that other thread, I'm still trying to work out what the censored word is.
Wasn't a fan, it feels..... very strange to play
WOW, thats aweosme. thats the thinnest hill climb ive ever seen
Blur look fat and old.
crazy!
Doune has been on my list of events to go an see for a lot of years.
It must take forever to learn to be quick there.
I was wondering why I couldn't hear anything until I realised that I had the wrong headphones plugged in. Time for bed I think. Today is not my day.
Hyvää Yötä kaikille
night kathi.
Graphics: slightly impressive
Physics: Rubbish
Lighting: Weird
Damage: constituting of nothing more than parts of bumpers hanging off
All in all - meh.
I'd love to stay here and be normal, BUT ITS JUST SO OVERRATED
(sorry, love that song)
Night Kathi.
Will you be posting photos in 3 hours time agai?
I appear to have invaded drop.io. Left something for Gavin though...
hehe. he looks rather depressed.
It's my desktop background, not that i am bitter or anything...
He's from Odense you know... that's my town!
I seem to get the impression that I really pick the obnoxious winners eh?
Hmmm, yes you do.
Well his fans are awful too. After I went to see the Speedway at Parken last year, they were on the train home with me. One guy tried to sit on my head to start a fight, so I had to give him my seat. When I got off, I was ready just in case...
Hehe, I find this pretty cool. Billie Jean sang via tweets.
Gotta admit, we sat behind some Danish Pedersen fans. They were a great couple to talk to.
Hey Ollie, my blog stats say I got you an extra visitor to BlogF1 ;)
For those who missed it while TG was on, I posted the Driver Consistencies for GB.
Gonna work on the request from Alex comparing the Red Bull Drivers in Qually and then look at the fuel usage stats from the F1 year book and see how accurate they are with the 2009 Regs and rules...
That's coz they were allowed to leave the country ;)
Is that done "Live"?
apparently yep
haha. By the sounds of it, probably was :D
My stats say the same! And I thank you a lot. :)
I've prepped a post about your site. I'll polish it off and post at some point between now and German Grand Prix. I'm yet to comment, but I've enjoyed reading and think many others will as well.
Having said that, most Vikings did learn English at some point...
NP mate - your post helped me a lot so it was only fair to mention you... and thanks for the encouragement too :D
:) Well, least they weren't drunk like the Poles behind us.
Having sampled some home-made Eastern European alcohol yesterday (Hungarian Palinka), I can only imagine!
We were in the lower rung of the stadium and the Poles opposite us were conducting Mexican waves and everything.
Must go, reckon I will sleep like a baby tonight for a second night in a row. Makes a nice changes from the usual. Ciao
Night RG
Night!!!
I'm also off, apparently my class are gardening tomorrow and tuesday...this can only go badly...

Gardening?
Errr.... Riiiiiight.
20 odd 9 year olds with rain and soil....what could possibly go wrong...
:D
Mud pie fight! :D
Cancel gardening and get them karting. You might find the next Lewis Hamilton and he can make you rich in 10-15 years
exactamundo!!
Oooops. I've got a fancy dress party to go to this week.. haven't planned anything yet.
Any suggestions for a Christmas themed fancy dress party?
Well other than my faithful standby - full suit of chainmail, shield and sword - Sir Twas, The Knight before Christmas
ooh i like.
niiiiice
How are you going to beat that
It's a bit heavy and hot for summer though. It's proper chainmail. Weighs about 30kg's - add steel helmet, sword and shield and I'm knackered just going down the stairs...
Surely the problem is that you are doing Xmas in july
We normally do a summer themed one around christmas.
I could always do a Aussie christmas - Shorto, flip flops and a very loud shirt. ;)
Hat with corks? Of course you would need to drink a lot to get the corks
Would have to get the other half extremely plastered every night to the tune of about 5 times her normal limit.
Plus - very few bottles have corks now.
Or I could just buy some corks.
Corks are normally left over from the week before - not a problem.
Time to head off me thinks, night all!
night Lukeh
Just watched that bit. Happy now.
Slower than the T1 was, even when using slick tyres. :D
Local boy to my hown town, and to Scott.
Same as Bill Bryson and Seasick Steve.
People love Norfolk - god knows why!
Although it was disqualified for running slick tyres, not for failing the speedbump test.
