All eyes are still on Singapore, as the racing gets underway today. It's been an interesting weekend so far, with plenty to talk about, so hopefully there is more to come. Here are some of the things we've been discussing recently:
- It was a bit of a weird day in the paddock yesterday, as the garages seemed to be infiltrated by musicians. We blogged about the F1 Rocks crew and their attempts at a pit stop, and the Black Eyed Peas were also featured on the F1 Big Picture.
- The fuel weights revealed some intriguing things, such as Liuzzi's very light fuel load, and the fact that Vettel seemed to be running low on fuel for pole position. Barrichello's incident has certainly stirred things up considerably!
- If you are at a loose end before the race gets underway, what with there being no Parade Lap this week and everything, why not check out Nick's mammoth preview posts? The Singapore Build Up has actually been split into three separate posts, but is a great run through how all the teams are stacking up ahead of the Grand Prix.
That'll do it for now. We'll be along later with more live threads for the race, and for the F1 Debrief recording this evening. I'll see you in the comments.
This is better. I am in the write thread for tomorrow... today now.
hey luke. tis race day.
Oh dear.
I'll join you in race day as soon as my mind catches up :(
Any word on where Rubens starts tomorrow?
Still 10th at the mo... he said the car was fine on Twitter but I dunno. I just have a funny feeling :(
Is there a reason it wouldn't be 10th?
Morning, everyone!
Is it true that Bernie said he's not sure about USF1 in 2010 during the BBC interview?
Yes
I totally forgot about moving thread. Too many months of doohickey have rotted my brain.
Hmmm. That's disappointing, considering they were the first of the new teams (yet arguably the one with the least experience) to announce their interest.
But hey, that'll let Qadbak right in, and we still get 13 teams.
:D Has it? When did you start posting comments here, Alison?
Monaco weekend.
That wasn't all that long ago, yet it seems like it... ;)
Lewis the overwhelming favorite for the win, I see, with the fuel loads?
he was favourite for me since friday.
I reckon he is too
true, but it seems, the gap has grown rather than decreased.
will red bull convert today and get both cars onto the podium? i hope not. :( i wonder how their reliability is...
around tram lines, not so great.
So erm what's going on with the Petit Le Mans? How long can they stay stopped for?
:D
It has to end at 9.10pm local. 2.10am UK.
lovely slo-mo vids from singapore: http://axisofoversteer.blogspot.com/2009/09/axis-of-singapore.html
Sam Collins from Racecar Engineering wondered if I had factored in Rubens' new chassis into his speed advantage. When I asked him if a new chassis would have given him an advantage, he responded with:
Absolutley - Jenson has used BGP001-02 all season its bumped bruised and ageing. Rubens is in BGP001-03 likely to be lighter and stiffer, it has very few miles on it - though stiffing it wouldn't help.
In contrast BMW are on chassis 7 & 8
sam is ace. good thinking too.
Look what happened today when Lewis got a new chassis
But then the question begs - why doesn't Brawn give Jenson a new chassis?
I assumed he and his engineers either haven't thought of that or think the current car is OK. If I was his engineer now I would insist on him having a new chassis for the next race and tell him I found a minor fault in the old one that may be the cause of his problems. It may just be enough to get him to believe things are better.
This is probably the reason why Jenson's been off form since Turkey. While the other teams have been making developments, he's been stuck with the exact same car since Australia.
I bet you anything with the same spec chassis as Rubens, he'll be back up there on form again.
I thought Rubens had the same spec chassis just one with a lot fewer miles on it.
I agree - at the very least it could be a psychological boost to him...
okay all, must sleep. catch you all in the morning.
Night Mr C.
Night Mr C
Night
Night Mr. C :)
I'm off too. Night all.
Night.
Night Scott
For Amy when she wakes up:
Oi! What's this I'm seeing about F1scoop offering you media accreditation?!
What????
Ah yeah. They had a race to see who was fastest at getting fuel weights.
Journeyer, you survived the floods / power cuts?
They offered her tips on the process as she is attending 3 races next year, from the looks of the twitter conversation...
Thankfully, yes. Still no proper Internet, so am using a workaround.
More about the floods here:
Too much rain too soon
Will this affect the GP later? BBC didn't seem to think so...
Nope. If anything, the storm here pulled away the rain that could've hit Singapore. Storm is headed northwest to southern mainland China/northern Vietnam.
Glad you are okay. These freak events seem to be happening more and more often, all over the place.
Also from f1scoop:
Climate change, I guess.
Time I went to bed I think. Really tired! See you for the GP.
Night Pat!
Just seen the Philipines storms on the news. That is horrendous
Do they know she has 20 people with her at one race?
Horrendous doesn't even describe it. Around 1/3 of Manila was submerged underwater - death toll now at 50.
Night Pat
You get to tag along for the ride! ;)
Awful stuff - has it affected you guys down south?
I would imagine that the country is stretched to help people too right now?
We're in the northern part of Manila - and the highest - yet we still experienced flooding. A bizarre occurence - haven't seen anything like this in at least 25 years.
Badly stretched. It seems no one saw this coming - and there aren't enough resources to handle it. Manila and 25 other provinces (practically the whole island of Luzon) have declared as states of calamity.
Terrible. Hope you're OK dude...
Me and my family are OK. Many others need help, though.
Can we do anything? I wonder if it's worth considering donating to a charity that can help you guys out with the Sidepodradio donation?
BBC just said they expect the race to be dry and 28C
After 17 hours, I've had to call it a night. The chemically enhanced ones are still partying but my body is broken and needs some rest!
We have lots of charities around here. Lemme find some links for you guys.
Night Bassano.
Night
Here's a start. has some pictures too. Look for the PayPal link:
http://conradmiguel.com/bagyong-ondoy-advisories-photos-etc
Journeyer, so sorry to hear about the troubles you guys are going through. My thoughts are with you
Same link here:
http://www.txtpower.org/2009/09/philippines-help-typhoon-victims-in-luzon-philippines/
Thank you Bassano. We were fortunately spared the worst of it (i.e. our house wasn't flooded), but many others weren't.
Right, off for a nap - good night/morning you lot and see you for the race later ;)
Night Gavin
Mmm, repairing corrupted DOCX files. What a way to spend your morning. Hehe. :D
Evening/night I have gotten to the saftey of a bed. I have somehow promised to ride a motocross bike tomorrow, off road. My life experience on a motorcycle is less than 30 secs although I have ridden a scooter...
It should be interesting...
Sorry to hear about the flooding J, I hope the situation doesn't get any worse...
It's stopped raining now - but the damage was done yesterday. Thanks for the concern Nick.
afternoon all. I am having computer issues. Fingers crossed all is sorted come race time.
oh no! what issues are you having?
one of my external hard drives crashes my computer everytime i plug it in so its running a disk check on it. Has been 12 hours and its only at 70%. Its pretty corrupted!
Ahh. I see. Do you need it for the race? Maybe you can unplug it for later?
Ahaha that is exactly what I have done because I got bored. It really didn't like being unplugged before it was finished, its probably more corrupted now :D
My goodness! :P
I see all your star sports presenters are going to be dressed up tonight :D
Morning everyone!
Hope you're doing okay Journeyer. Thought of you when I saw the news this morning!
haere mai!
It was on the news this morning? Wow, it's gotten far and wide. I'm okay - am worried about other people out there, though.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/8277018.stm
I have tried to think of any kind of suitable response... All I can come up with is:
To'u Ori ra'a
But I have no idea what it means.
neither do I!
Well that's okay then :)
What response are you supposed to give?
well haere mai means welcome so I guess you could say 'kia ora' which means thank you. And also means hello. I don't get maori :D
I finished your book this arvo, Alex.
And also means a drink here in the uk: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LvLn9PWln8
Oh wow cool. Hope you enjoyed it.
Did you have a favourite story?
Hmmm. That's tricky. There was one I read early in the book. Will have to have a quick look
I don't read many short stories. They were fun
Duh. Very early in the book. It was the one about the crosswords.
Ah yes... Quite a popular on ethat one.
Anyway, shall pass it on to my sister. It's an interesting mix. Funny how a few short paragraphs can be scary or funny like that. You must have interesting dreams!
heh... I have a lot of dreams and I can remember them most of the time.
And good work on the passing it on front :)
I always try to pass on my books.
I hope your new one works out well.
it's so cool and funny that a people who look positively Caucasian (kinda British) speak a language that has some similar sounds to ours!
From Racecar Engineering:
Brawn GP has finally replaced Rubens Barichello's chassis just in time for the Singapore Grand Prix. The Brazillian driver had been using BGP001-01 the first chassis produced after the similar but not identical Honda RA109 tubs constructed were abandoned, but from this weekend he will drive BGP001-03.
World Championship leader Jenson Button will continue with BGP001-02.
They haven't had the same chasis for most of the season.
Morning all, not gonna be around for long since I have match (it didn't rain, damn), hopefully be back in time for the race. Sooo, see yas.
Morning.
I am about to go mx-ing have dropio'd a pic.
Hopefully I won't die.
Have fun!
Morning peoples
Morning... and morning to the rest of you as well...
Morning Gavin, Bassano.
:(
Whats up, Alison?
You didn't say good morning to her!
Morning everyone :)
That's why you should always say "Good Morning Everyone!"
What time does coverage start today, normal time?
Hehehe
:D
Morning, everyone, then. ;)
12.10 yeah
You are trouble! ;)
http://www.sidepodcast.com/2009/09/23/singapore-schedule/
Of course, thanks Gavin. I obviously lost a few more brain cells yesterday ;)
What did I do??
Why are you not doing a parade lap? :(
Yup - no parade lap, even if the race follows European time... ;)
Well we did have 12 of them last week!
:D
Heheh it's only because I had the page open in another tab ;)
Not to mention, thanks Alison ;)
[iPhone commenting has it's pitfalls]
I meant it as an term of endearment! I don't think I'm going to be able to explain why very well!
It's too late. I'm in a huff now.
:D
Was Qualy good? I heard about Rubens' shunt
It was just getting good then it was red flagged.
Wasn't the best quali of the season, but still pretty good. Then again, it may be down to me being disappointed with Brawn's form.
It was certainly better than Petit Le Mans ;)
Christine has decreed it. All of her other podcasts are thrown out of whack because teams send out all of their press releases at funny times because of them going to bed at funny times. And that's what causes the trouble.
Stupid other countries in other time zones. Haven't they heard of GMT?
Hello everyone, am amazed Bassano is up, are you still drunk after yesterday?
Everyone knows it stands for Greatest Megablastic Time!
I always wondered. In that case, what is Z time?
:D
No, I came home around 2ish. After 17 hours - I was full up!
The pace had slowed right down by then, thankfully
"Zo'my gosh, I'm late"
Zombie time.
So to speak.
That is a great quote.
A friend of mine used to say, he was so full of beer he'd tilt his head back on the way home so as not to spill it :D
Just catching up with the comments, Journeyer - have been reading about the floods and am glad you are OK. My thoughts are with you & the rest of the country. One month's rain in 6 hours, it's unimaginable
:D :D
I remember that feeling.
Thank you for the concern, Janna. Much appreciated. We also have another occasional Filipina commenter here (Janina was her name, but I'm not sure?) - her province was also hard-hit.
Indeed - her handle is "Smakaka" I think?
Yup, that's the one. Is she on Twitter?
I just got a text message from my brother "see, I told you Rubens would crash"
it seems hes very RG like
Oh my gosh. So he did!
Hehe. My GF's brother-in-law predicted after Lewis' last stop in Monza that he wouldn't crash. I told him he can't be that silly, surely.
Oops.
New live commenting post: http://www.sidepodcast.com/2009/09/27/live-singapore-the-race/
Bah!
I'm so hungry :( There is no food in my house. Only soup but that's obviously a lunch food....
I need junk food for a race
time of day does not matter! It is 8.30pm and I am having bacon and eggs on toast. Some would say this is a breakfast food. I laugh in the face of breakfast.
I nominate this as comment of the year! :D
Ooooh I found goats cheese in my fridge! I'm gonna put it on toast....
Ooooh... jealous!
morning all. Just found out that New Order (the band) broke up. In 2007. I know I've been in a box here without information but finding this out has been a shock. but finding out it happened years ago is just bizarre...
Having placed a bet on Buemi out-doing Alguersuari in today's race, and the pair then retiring together on lap 48... I wonder which driver the bookie will favour?! Both are down as not being classified!
I really enjoyed that race, sorry I don't comment in the race, I just get so absorbed I have no extra capacity for comments, must be my age!
As a side-point (sidepodpoint?), Christine, can I take it that Chris Packham is Public Enemy Number One for you after his comments about giant panda conservation this week? Sorry it's not an F1 point - I was just interested in your view!
He was on TV the next day apologising for what he said, but Christine wrote a blog post on her blog I believe about it...
Take care folks, see you in a week, and if you subscribe, enjoy GP+! I'm switching over to the sheer heart-thumping excitement that is Sunderland against Wolves on Sky! Thanks for the chat, it's so much nicer to watch the race with all of you!
Sorry - I said I was leaving, but the discussion is too exciting on the forum. Amy, you;'re right about Jacques, except that the FIA did everything in 97 to stop him from winning right up to Jerez - if not for Max and Bernie he could have taken it earlier. He did whine afterwards though, and he was the major reason why BAR didn't develop quickly - employing average people like Craig Pollock and Patrick Lemarie (his mate, who was test driver). My girlfriend is Polish, and apparently Poles just like a good moan, she says - maybe that is why Kubica moans.
Jacques also - don't forget - looked better than Damon Hill for a lot of '96.
Ah, the daily. What a nice place.
See I knew you'd like it :)
You were definitley onto something!
*waves* from the Daily :D
I think people moving to the daily should be my cue to go to bed but I ain't tired so you can't make me.
what time is the debrief anyway? *not observant*
7pm Im assuming
8pm GMT...
8pm CET sorry :(
uh oh, Fernando dresses like my dad. He always wore ridiculous goggles when he took the MG out!
Gonna restart my computer - too much memory loss after 3 streams, LCLT, Tweetdeck, iPlayer and Java F1 LT open - BRB ;)
Maybe Giggles Made-Up Media made that up too :)
right. Sleepiness setting in and I shall not fight. Night all!
Night Amy!
Night Amy!
Sleep well Amy
Hello all. Night Amy.
Looks like I missed an eventful race
I missed the Sutil/Heidfeld thing so Mr C was trying to explain to me with the help of an old birthday present of mine.
http://drop.io/sidepodcast/asset/2009-09-27-16-53-04
I decided to watch the highlights instead :)
LOL its pretty accurate though. :D
Hi Steven
It was like a carbon copy of last year
At least he didn't do what mu granddad did and try and explain the offside rule with table implements!
Hi Steven.
The highlights reel will be sufficient I reckon.
Alonso misses his Flav :(
aww just watching that now.
It's the only way to do it
Just saw this http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/78965
You have to question his intelligence dedicating a podium to Flav
Nick was not happy with Sutil - his exact words "maybe we try to find a brain for him"
We need another car though. Had to use a USB stick as Alguersuari.
Awww whoever said Vettel is mini-Shumi should watch his interview. He ruefully said his car was "falling apart"
Well a USB stick was more useful today...
I <3 Nicky too.
because?
hehehe. classic.
But Flav found him, nurtured him, made him succesful and rescued him.
His whole career is thanks to that man.
In an odd way it show some loyalty.
and still manages him? at least until 2010.
Has Webber said if Flav can't then he will manage himself?
Flav has just been kicked out of the sport for cheating and Alonso has been cleared of any knowledge of the plan regardless what anyone may think. Associating himself so publically with Flav now is not a clever thing to do.
We aren't just going to forget he was his manager all of a sudden are we?
maybe he thinks flav can/will clear his name?
It might not be clever but it shows a certain character. Mark has also stood by Briatore.
I still think it was a good thing to tip his hat to Flav
I don't like politically correct statements to make the sponsors happy
Following on from his statement about still counting last year as a win and trying to justify that he was a deserving winner it seems odd to me to be dedicating a podium to someone who officially at least was responsible for it.
Yes
Hmmm I dunno. I think it's showing more loyalty than people seem to expect from Fernando.
agreed. says a lot about briatore. did lewis/kovi have much to say about ron, post melbourne?
What else can Alonso say? "Well, I was innocent but undeserving even though I drove a good race"?
I got the impression they wanted to forget about Ron, especially Lewis - its just one reason why I am not a Lewis fan. To me it show respects and brave when everyone is putting the guy down.
What he should have said was that he didn't like winning in those circumstances but the results are set now instead of saying yes it is as good as any other win and spending most of his answer explaining how well he drove and suggesting it was a deserved victory.
You do not raise the issue, if raised you play your victory down with it was an unfortunate turn of events. It is poor form to given credit to yourself when it was rigged.
wow. just catching up on post race talk. martin whitmarsh is as transparent as glass isn't he?
Err.... *awkward silence* Yes he is!
like... "ooh, i wasn't expecting that question. what a curveball you've thrown me there jake".
useless is he :)
If you think he was driving a good race explain why he was nearly a minute behind Felipe after 14 laps and had thimble-full of fuel.
How?
i kinda like that actually! no matter how much he tries to create martinspeak, it's just not him!
I suppose it's better than talking about nothing and lying through your teeth - I much appreciate his candour.
He was asked about Kimi going back to McLaren. He laughed - but no confirmation.
He seems to like letting the cat out of the bag on all fronts
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/8277604.stm
just the last 10 seconds.
Did we see that Sutil got a reprimand and a $20 000 fine for smashing Heidfeld?
he's becoming the new frank williams.
He also let Alonso to Ferrari out of the bag, right?
Just that?
that's it??
i'd have banned him for a race.
20K? pretty big.
Just seen an e-mail saying the wiki was ranked 358th in the Wetpaint top 500 this week. That must be the highest ranking ever.
Yep and about Kubica talking to Renault
I think this is the final decision?
http://www.fia.com/en-GB/mediacentre/f1_media/Documents/sin09_document_45.pdf
he's making the driver market his own!
that's a tad harsh for me, but he does deserve a 10-place grid drop for causing an avoidable accident.
For a driver? Hardly
:D he spoils everyone else's secrets...
No, grid penalty of 5 places would be appropriate
Agreed. 10 place penalty.
true, but driver fines usually don't get that big, right?
It is nothing - I think I would have given him a five-grid place drop at the next race. It was a genuine brain-fade.
That was quick though, unusual for the FIA stewards
He makes a statement a few weeks ago about Alonso going to Ferrari and he doesn't have an answer to an obvious question like that??
#blamesidepodradio :)
martin blabbermarsh?
It's late. :D
Which gives it away, no? ;)
Wooo did I break some news? I'm so proud of myself!
and someone called Christine who posted most of the stuff on it
This is my favourite quote of the weekend
When asked if there was any action BMW should take over the incident, Heidfeld replied: "Maybe we try to find a brain for him!"
I think you did
Kudos to you
There is no way I can see Kimi agreeing to leave Ferrari unless it is to go to McLaren.
Haha. :D
Renault should try and get both Kubes and Nick and forget about bring youngster on board - it will help them get back onto their feet and better results.
Well done
they need a team principle first.
now you know why I like Nick - he has a great sense of humour. Timo is an equally funny guy - did you him impersonate the strange German F1 reporter (forgotten his name) - it was hilarious.
"We aspire to be a top team, so we want the best drivers in F1"
Says it all even before the Kimi question
[Sorry Amy]
I wonder if Bob Bell could do the job? He seems pragmatic, straight and with a good sense of humour.
kovi's face here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/8277604.stm
says "i no longer have a drive".
and thats exactly why he can't be team principal
;)
You don't like Bob very much, do you?
kai ebel? what did he say?
Howdy all. Been away this weekend so missed the tweeting / SPC fun.
Pretty happy with that result. No idead what Sutil was up to though. What a way for Nick's record to end.
He's lost his chance now. There's no reason why they should consider keeping him now personally.
#sorryamy
Agreed
you mean too honest? I am sure both Mario and Peter Sauber were honest!
i do. not sure he's team boss material. i guess the renault people like him, and he comes across very well in the podcasts.
That interview suggests Kimi has signed an option at least.
Don't say sorry - she wants Kimi back - and she's willing to kick Heikki out to do it.
Hi Adie
It had to happen eventually, at least he didn't drop it into the wall himself
It's just habit now
[sorry Heikki] :D
Nah I'm sure he'd do well really, just messing about. For all we know Dave Richards could still be proposing some kind of buy out or something...
He impersonated Kai - unfortunately it was all in German - he even wore the sort of sunglasses Kai would wear and put on his somewhat camp style.
:D
i would pay to see that.
I suspect he is. f1scoop says it'll be a DR-Prost combo.
I think he should be given a chance.
Yeah. I really like Nick - I think he's hugely under-rated.
When the speculation over the 2nd Brawn seat began I tried to champion the fact that he'd be a brilliant choice for the second seat.
That is a weird combo. Can't see DR sharing the team principal's role though
Here's my guess - Prost was supposed to take over for the remainder of the year, but that was dropped after they couldn't agree on a salary. So Bell now does it for the rest of the year, with DR taking over next year and Bob staying as chief technical officer.
DR for Renault would be a very good choice.
I would love to have seen what the BAR's would have done 2005-2008 under him.
I doubt we'd have been subjected to that 'Earth Car' gubbins we saw.
From the Renault side of things about Alonso leaving,
"We will miss him, but he will miss us."
c/o PlanetF1
Nick is a brilliant choice as a second driver for any team. Ferrari should have got him in to replace Massa - I am sure Mario's arm could have been twisted. He is small so suits KERs and was actually quite good at getting it sorted out earlier this year.
That is awesome :)
A friend has told me I should grow my hair like Kimi's, thing is I'm not sure they were joking.
And from Joe:
Alonso confirms Ferrari deal
And he revealed it in the post-race presscon.
i would approve of that.
he did?
Not conclusive enough for me.
just read it. joe's logic makes sense. ;)
no more.
i mean, nor me. oops.
Agreed
Joe is stating his opinion not fact [yet]
That and the PF1 article combined, though. One and one makes...
I don't think so, he was just paying tribute to some of the good things that Flav did for Renault.
Well, it's not like Joe can say any more [yet].
whitmarsh was way more revealing.
We're all expecting it but it hasn't been announced
agreed.
My rabbits have a nice clean hutch now. And they keep running off with kitchen towel sheets.
joe broke the news first in 2008. he can't keep breaking the same story :)
I don't agree with Joe's conclusions. I do think Alonso will go to Ferrari, but I don't think talking about Flav has anything to do with it.
Got it right first time - as in "no more guessing, we wanna know!"
:)
At the end of the day Flav did some bad things, but he was there during the championship winning years. Although Symonds didn't get the same tribute from Alonso.
So as it stands, we're expecting Alonso to go to Ferrari, with Kimi off to McLaren in place of Heikki, who could end up at Renault.
Meanwhile, Barrichello and Rosberg may end up in a seat swap with Williams and Brawn, while Kubica (and maybe Heidfeld too?) stay at Qadbak.
This is clearly a sign Alonso is going to Ferrari...
:D
:D
Just saw the Sutil incident. He is a lucky boy to only get a fine for that.
I guess Heikki at Renault is a lot more likely post-Flav.
Why stay with a team that as of yet haven't been confirmed? and Heidfeld seemed to not know a lot about those who had purchased the BMW team.
It's a sign. It's a sign. Follow the gourd
No FR scores yet? I'm having to do my driver consistency post instead...
Until we know who the team principal is we have not the slightest clue who will drive for Renault
I know. I want to see how much I've caught Mr C ;)
Not yet, sadly. :(
Until anything is announced officially we know nothing. Which is about the same as normal
Ahhh Mr C has bribed Dan into releasing them AFTER the Debrief ;)
Well I thought the chance was nil with him there, it can only go up from there.
I keep checking. I need to find out how many teams Christine has in front of Mr C's
We can delay that.
All of them?
And my proper Internet is FINALLY back - a bit late for the race, but better late than never.
Sadly, will miss the debrief due to work in the morning. :(
I was googling Symonds to check how to spell his name, his page on the Renault site is still there! http://tinyurl.com/ycsegqv
To quote Manuel on Fawlty Towers... I know nothing!!
Amazing that you have Internet in such a biblical storm!
Both Robert and Nick have said they would stay with the team - they are both very talented but will the team get a place next year?
I don't think anyone knows a lot about who bought the team.
In the F1 forum, Nick said no one in the team really knew anything about those who purchased the team.
Well, my workaround was a WiFi USB stick (which Amy also has, I think). Telcos were surprisingly stable in non-flooded areas.
That's not good... I wonder if Sauber's involved with the buyers...
Who knows the secret of the Black Magic man.
That's amazing. In NZ, one day of medium rain and everything goes off!
It looks as if the sale included Peter Saubers 20% share - but there is not much that is known.
Indeed. Telco did a relatively good job this weekend, everything considered. I think disaster-proofing is part of what they do now, given our geographic location.
IN SA we will also lose electricity - sorry that is a sore point today!
Surprisingly (and thankfully), we didn't lose power, either. Only those areas that were flooded asked their power to be cut off (for obvious reasons).
Life starting to return to normal??
Because people were hanging on to power lines apparently! :(
:( Makes Sara sad.
Yup, slowly but surely. A lot of areas in the East are still flooded though - the water refuses to drain down.
What is worrying though is that there's a low pressure area not so far away - it has the potential of developing into a storm and hitting the country by Wednesday.
Floods are awful things. I was living in Carlisle a few years ago sitting my A Levels when there was awful flooding (nothing on this scale though) and it completely destroys peoples lives. Some people still are repairing damage from then.
Indeed - people hanging on to whatever they could. Many made it, but not all, sadly. :(
You owe me ... here is the link - but it is all German. Basically all the German F1 drivers fooling around.

We had a minor flood about 12 years ago, we're still dealing with some of the damage now.
We've managed to recover faster than that (usually within a year or so), it's just that it happens more often over here.
We have a minor flood every winter - precisely where the poorest and densest population in Cape Town live.
*cringes*
Is it bad?
yay. ta.
I have just found this.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSeKlCirw7w&feature=related
Can someone explain.....
OMG Glock looks Faaaaaabulous!
I heart Timo x2
I have a funny feeling alkihols may be a factor there
Who said Heidfeld had no sense of humour....
He did, didn't he?
he did! ;D
I quote...
Der is no fun in Germany.
Random thought - had Rubens not needed to change his gearbox, he'd probably have finished 2nd tonight, definitely on the podium, and he'd have probably just been 10 points or so behind Button.
F1 is IF spelled backwards...
Now you might understand why I like him - he and Nick really do not take themselves too seriously. Nick is not a good dancer but he doesn't care he dance like he loves doing it! See this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRfCCYIv3EA
:(
Just listening to Heidfeld talking is funny:
"Ve Vill hef a great package in Zuzuka"...
Awesome :D
1F
Oh come on! :P
Force India abbreviated backwards is "IF".
Hehehe Massa walking like an egyptian is epic at the end there :D
Eh? I thought their abbreviation was FIF1? ;)
Then it's 1FIF :D
:P :D
Off for a curry - see you at the Debrief :D
Hey Gavin - Just catching up on my Tweets...RE: Your @F1TailPipe_com yesterday....
Do I have a Twitter clone/stalker?!
It is why I like Germans - they have some of the best taste and some of the worst! - but I am not wild about German wines!
I have just found this.... http://www.you...w&feature=related
Can someone explain.....
I said he does not take himself seriously - he is also on record saying Felipe was the best team mate he has ever had.
;)
Anyway, must get to bed.
Good night! :)
Can't remember whether or not I posted this panda link earlier but on the basis that you can't have too many pandas I will post it again. There are other pics available by clicking the thumbnail link on the right.
http://nationalzoo.si.edu/Animals/PhotoGallery/GiantPandas/7.cfm
Heidfeld has a very good sense of humour! Once when Hamilton was trying to explain how it was difficult to drive behind the safety car at Japan - Nick -said if that is his best it was terribly good!
Night Journeyer
Ok - I have to go gang.
See you for the Debrief.
Just saw a tweet from Montoya. Jet dryers trying to dry the track. I assume this is for the race for the chase for the cup for the thing.
It's weird hearing them speak in German.
"Alonso is rumoured to be off to Ferrari next season while other reports claim he could in fact be heading to Brawn GP"
http://www.planetf1.com/story/0,18954,3213_5587505,00.html
how did I miss this rumour - yikes if I were Jenson I would not like the sound of that rumour.
They all become more natural and therefore less serious. Possibly not Nico as his English is much better than the others.
I just want to know, and I'm an Alonso fan. It's annoying how long we are having to wait.
because they're just making stuff up?
*is not here* Alonso isn't going to go to Brawn.
Silly people!!
I like Jenson but he will NOT survive with Alonso as a team mate - both on and off track tactics.
How would you feel if he did go to join Jenson?
that's a daft discussion. pf1 talk more trash than the local dustman.
lou, how would you feel if jackie stewart were jenson's teammate? pointless discussion, right?
Someone must have dreamt that he was going to Brawn. Can't see that happening
He would struggle in terms of pace but Alonso is mentally weaker.
he wont... It'll be Jenson and Rubens next year ( ;) ) if by some freak chance he is going to brawn (which he wont) i would be both pleased and upset... he need likes having a number 2 driver, and i wouldn't want to see that put onto Jenson tbh. Brawn GP works well as an equal team. They've been putting Jenson and Rubens (for a large majority of the races) on exactly the same strategy and it's worked well tbh.
Are you saying JYS is slow??
never. i just know it won't happen.
haha well... ;)
The only thing is Alonso had quite serious discussions with Honda just before they pulled out. I think he is off to Ferrari where I think Massa will kick his butt!
the honda discussions were only ever a short deal.. well for Alonso anyway. the reason they fell through was because Alonso wanted a one year contract before signing anything longer term and Honda wanted 3 years minimum... :D
Oh the irony.....
and we now know thanks to flav, that he needed a one year deal so he could slot into the ferrari.
:D
I would say Alonso is more fragile but Alonso plays mind games and I wonder how Jenson would handle that.
I really do not like the combo of Felipe and Fernando - I will go further there will be tears.
Alonso and Brawn do not make sense - but then I think they have the perfect pair already.
He so won't
I don't rate Massa particularly as a driver. I love him but I don't think he's at the very highest level. Good yes, but not exceptional.
I haven't noticed Alonso playing mind games. Lewis rattled him by refusing to let him pass in quali at Hungary and instead of finding a way to slap him down and show him who was boss Alonso imploded and threatened Ron. He was also prone to blow up if Fisi out-performed him.
Behind the wheel he is an incredible driver but I don't get the impression that he is mentally strong.
don't under-estimate Felipe - there will be circuits where he will kick Fernando's butt (e.g. Singapore, Brazil) and he will get into a tantrum.
Thank you!
Remind me again what the tweetage was?
I'm not saying Massa wouldn't beat Alonso on occasion but he won't wipe the floor with him
Alonso will finish above Massa if they are team mates
i still maintain he deserved the 08 championship more than lewis but i agree. he is good, but no where near Alonso in terms of driving talent..
In my eyes, the better driver won
be careful what you wish for...
I could watch this intro all day
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TFqQSXQahw
If Lewis had managed to get the title in 2007, I'd have supported Massa for it in '08 if that makes any sense at all.... I don't think Lewis deserved to lose it by a whisper 2 years running, that'd just be too cruel.
Lots of people share your view - but if you compare him to Kimi on an overall result - viz all three seasons they have been together he has done rather better. Felipe needs to get into a groove and basically control from the front if he gets ahead at a track it will be difficult for Alonso to catch him.
and they wonder where their budget went?
It's just editing for the most part, oh and some band that are a little bit popular ;)
Kimi won a world title in there.... I think you're taking a very biased view.
i've got too much of a soft spot for massa, and too much of a chip on my shoulder about lewis. Lewis is the better driver i agree... i'm just waaay to biased :)
This has confused me :(
Then the better driver won
That's how it should be. Right, debrief time
Felipe is an understeer driver in a team that produces understeering cars. Kimi is an oversteer driver so Felipe has an in-built advantage.
Fernando is also an understeer driver so that in-built advantage will disappear and his true pace will matter more. I think Alonso will be faster but Rob and Massa should be able to unsettle him.
On straight driving ability Alonso is a lot better but straight driving ability is not all that matters.
I could argue that either one deserved it more (both had bad luck, be it mechanical, FIA stewardship and incompetent pit crew), on balance I would have preferred Felipe to have won since we was a de facto number 2 driver competing against a number 1 driver - if that makes sense.
Especially if he who should not be named is still involved at Ferarri
Neither. Alonso and Kubica were the best drivers last year!
Personally I think Kubica drove best last year - he complained a lot and I was critical of him. As events have turned out Robert was absolutely right and BMW Sauber strategy was absolutely wrong - they should have gone for the championship when there was an outside chance of winning for him.
Sure he did but I am looking at overall consistency during all seasons, but Felipe was very much the number 2 driver and I think that needs to be taken into consideration. Kimi needed Felipe to concede Brazil to him to have won the championship!
Off-topic - has anyone heard music by Rodrigo y Gabriela? Just listening to their new album 11:11 on Spotify and it's good! If you're a fan of instrumental acoustic guitar, I recommend giving it a listen.
You arent watching?
*jumps into daily*
*Gets comfy in the Daily thread, again*
Yay dailyness
*Leaves Live stream ashamed, skips into Daily like Timo*
#sorryrg
Shouldn't that be 'Skips like Sutil'? ;)
Hey guys,
Time to see who was a Singapore Flyer and who had too many Singapore Slings – yes, it’s Driver Consistency time for Singapore
Have a read and don't forget to leave a comment - I'd love to hear what you think... :D
Off to bed, have set video to record House, cold is getting worse, hope this is the bad day & I'll be better tomorrow. Take care all, comment with you tomorrow
...
Sry for the lack of race predictions earlier, I feel wrong for not doing it. But remember, Sutil for the win next week.
I made popcorn and it didnt kill anyone :)
cheers janna, feel better soon.
Mr Bassano of the Clapping-age, are you sober?
Aww, hope ya get better. I think there is a bug going around. See ya.
See ya Janna
Today, yes
I've had my fill for one weekend! :)
I know I have a reputation but I'm not that bad! :)
Woop, just wanted to find out if you'd recieved anything post wise about Thursday, my internet is as unpredictable as..(fill in the gaps)...so i thought i'd find out whats happening
You were very very very not sober yesterday :P
I was a Stag Do, it's the law :)
Received an Events Order Notification on the 18th
I have to see if I can sort something out with work first though. I'm on lates this week but I may be able to do an early shift that day
Actually, that's just a VAT receipt for £0.00 inc VAT :)
[scratches head in confusion]
Was that actual post or was it an email?
Email
Have gotten very little post lately
The KERS thing was by email only though
thought so, i have the same thing i think.
yeah, something similar i went to a while ago was email too, should be fine!
i shall look for the man who looks like this...
He's not too far off you know ;)
I thought you guys were talking about Spa. Got quite excited for a second....
That's it
Alex & Nick are maybe's, I think
Mr C was considering it
You mean i could be in a pub with you?
HELLLP!!!!
For the KERS thing, we just turned up and gave our name.
They got my name the wrong way round and couldn't find my booking so they just re-registered me on the spot
Clapper Bassano? That is odd! :D
Good practice for Uni ;)
Tell me about it! ;)
*sniggers* I've just been watching Kimi give someone the finger.
i've all of sudden decided that i'm t-total
You'll be fine
I'll go easy on you :)
Oh RG, you'll be pleased to know I gave Timo my "Prime Number of The Race" Award :D
Link?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wx9D1mueU6Y&feature=related
Classic kimi interview.
That's Exactly what annoys me about Kimi. He's just rude and full of bad attitude!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U386HsT-NaA&NR=1
well what about this one then?
I think it's funny
Best. Answer. Ever.
I love that clip
I don't - he just comes across as a moody teenager and it's no wonder certain parts the media trash him :(
As mentioned earlier, I don't think he cares. Which is partly why I like him
We've kinda done this though so we should agree to disagree :)
TBH Brundle's response is what's funny there :D
I have never seen that before! Poor Martin.
It was Schuey's last race and Pele was giving him some award. Kimi obviously didn't care
Wow Tweet deck is a real memory hog!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tq0e1mMffm8&feature=related
Look he laughs and smiles. :D
Hehehe I'm not surprised. Sounds boring!
We definiately have to agree to disagree about Kimi. I <3 him lots so :D and things.
Not only is Brundle's response funny, but it is honest. Why do you think the racers all head to the head before a race? I am sure they can "hold it" for a couple of hours.
On the other hand, I can understand Kimi's, and other drivers, reaction given they are trying to prepare and concentrate 15 minutes before the race. Nelsinho would refuse interviews, Kimi just tells you off.
Because they've been hydrating themselves up until they get in the car
True, but if you get rid of water through sweating, you won't need to urinate.
Silly dubbed translation getting in the way
You can't though. If you've ever done a lot of exercise in sweltering heat, you do need to go to the loo a lot more than normal....
eh Whatsa wronga witha translaytion???
But if you'd been drinking before then, you need to go before you start sweating
Well he's talking in English, it's just that we can't hear it.
I'm gonna quickly drop a quick video file onto the dropio... im using this new capture program I got off my brother and I just wanna test uploads with a small video because i'm having a few issues. I'll use this test to show just how muse obsessed my library of music is ;)
Because we didn't know that? :)
Do you like Muse, Lukeh? :D
Kimi in "correct sized hat shocker!"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwJEWhezTsU&feature=related
You must be confusing him with someone else
I'm alarmed by all the videos of Kimi assaulting people on youtube....
So you should like this interview of Kimi...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wx9D1mueU6Y
Personally I think it is a bit rude to reporters and disrespectful to fans. He gets a lot of money from the industry.
http://drop.io/sidepodcast/asset/wmcap-mpg
if it works then ill let you answer ;)
The pretty cool thing I reckon though is with this sometimes I could record photoshopping or soemthing, show you how I get from a to b with certain difficult photoshops or anything. Could be useful. Just having a few different file quality/uploading problems but I'm wondering if it's just youtube being annoying, hence drop.io...
It seems to work alright, although for a video I put 20% sound onto, it's come up awfully loud... sorry.
Seems to work ok, WAS A LITTLE LOUD THOUGH!
Sorry sorry sorry... thats one of the problems I'm trying to solve :(
Sorry did you say something? I can't quite hear you. :p
Nah it's ok :)
SCOTT WOODWISS!!!!
I have an idea - are you around?
Well, dear dearest friends's!
the Blue Orange Lion family informed me that it's leaving for New Zealand and that I'll be replacing them all on the web...
I wish you all an eventful end to 2009 season, I is happy.
You're going to NZ?
Wooooo! I'm not sure if any of you remember me writing my stupid personal statement thingy but I got onto the course that I wanted! I'm not sure why it's taken me to this point in the weekend to check my emails but WOOO!
welcome fofa chairman!
wey-hey!
Well done Alison!
Good for you Alison
nice one!!
Heh, I'm not sure why I've made you all so excited. It's just a module thingy on my course that I'm not even sure I can make myself go back to.... :P
Mr C, are you going to the F1 thing on Thurs or are you packing?
Good night all - thanks for an awesome weekend!
G'night Gavin
@Christine
Just sent you an e-mail with some onfo for the guy who was looking into fire safety
i think certainly packing. sorry sir. would love to join in, but it's a busy couple of weeks.
put me down for the next one though.
Well done. What's the course?
We understand
I have to get the night off first myself
Brilliant, thanks Steven :)
yay!!! :D awesome!
wooop
It's an economics and business management option that I wanted to take as part of my medical course. It was competitive entry though and you had people from all over the uni applying for them with like actual relevant experiences.
Does Badoer get a tiny bit of credit [or just less grief] now that Fisichella is seen to be less than stellar in the Ferrari?
Badoer was terrible but with Fisi's experience, I expected more
Though not great things, I must add
You told me that before. Are you going to be able to fit that in around all your travels
No. Fisi is massively better than Badoer. The Ferrari has looked a handful for most of the season and I never expected him to get within half a second of Kimi. I always thought he was over-rated
I'm not doing it now. It'd be from next September. I'm not at uni this year because of health/money problems.
It's a bit of a cheat. You get to join the honours year of another course that other people have been doing for 3 years and you get a full BSc for the privilege. If I were them, I'd be livid!
I said they (meaning the BOL family) are leaving for New Zealand and I'm not expecting them to contact the world of F1 in the future, I'm still in Europe and will remain here.

An Aside with Joe is a really cool feature, sorry I haven't been commenting here lately - my laptop was killing me and all the FOFA legal stuff as well. Will try to catch up or at least pop in from time to time.
I feel like I reached nirvana, maybe that's the real reason behind my fading interest in blogs / chats. I don't need to explain things now, I understand them as they happen. How cool is that, huh? Anyway, I must go now, will pop in for live Suzuka commenting because I'm like so happy this particular track is back.
You have to play the system. If you can get the piece of paper that opens doors for you by an unusual route then that's fine.
Oh I don't dispute that, I just thought he might be in the middle of the pack
Saying that, Kimi didn't have a stunning weekend either
Surprised to find out that Joe Saward gets on well with Eddie Jordan
Maybe Eddie wasn't so full of himself in the old days. Putting him in front of a camera was never a good idea
Yeah, that's my thoughts really. Might as well milk it. It takes as long as 2 degrees, I might as well get 2 of them out of it!!
no worries squire. glad you likes the shows. don't forget to tell joe too.
Was there an F1 forum this week? I didnt get to see the end of the programme this afternoon or the forum and was hoping to watch it, but it doesnt appear to be on their website?
Who are the blue orange lion family? am i missing something obvious, sorry if i am!
Yeah, it always takes FOREVER to appear. I'd expect to get it up there by about Thursday.
Nick, if you are talking about the BBC after-race forum, yes, there was one. It is already available on various distribution methods.
I cant find it on the website or the RSS?
i loved eddie as a team boss. i despise him as a pundit.
In my bet Buemi.... Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Not to worry! i will watch the highlights on the red button, they often go to a replay of it afterwards
I almost sent in a voicemail to you guys to complain about the uselessness of DC as a neutral pundit. They should really say something about his ties to red bull before they go to him for an 'expert view' during commentary
fantasy racers have updated...
Thank god I had Timo and Heikki.
it's fair to say i want to beat kathi over the head for suggesting selling buying fisi
grandprix+ also available:
http://grandprixplus.com/subscribers/
I scared myself to death, for some reason the 2010 page is linking to the 2009 results and tables?
I broke into the sub-100 mark! Sidepodcast Racers is 99th. WOOOHOOO!
They used Ted so much today... I dont think i have ever heard from him as much as we did in the race today?
Evening everyone :)
I hope everyone saw the sofaf1 results... Posted quickly this week!
I'm quite freaked out btw... My quali predictions were surprisingly close to the actual race results. All you need to do is swap Heikki for Timo and you're sorted.
parting shot, is again rather fantastic.
I'm shocked after three below-500 scores, I'm 208th
so what score did you get?
I didn't realise until this year but yeah, you're right
499
Congratulations - I simply remained more or less in the same position.
Good move - the drivers I really like I do not put into my team - sort of kiss-of-death so neither Timo not Nick are selected.
Oh, I don't play fantasy racers. I can't deal with my own life, forget a role as faux-team manager :P
bassano, f1minute production processes tweaked. yell if you think it's better/worse.
Starting at which podcast, tomorrow's?
Will do
I'm back after wandering off.
Evening. Sorry I missed the show, I was at Mum's. I bring interesting feedback though. They are very much casual fans, but today they tried to watch and really struggled. Didn't know what KERS is. Cannot stand Legard and 'that Irish guy' is really annoying.
Gah, school. Stupid thing, have to be up for that. So see yas all later. lotsa love.
Its good that you didnt get too lost!
*sigh* It's back to work for me tomorrow after my week off.
I wasnt going to look at it until i had seen the forum, but now i fear i must
Well I had to get past the rabbits so I'm pleased I made it back alive.
just skip to the last page. you'll love it :)
Very quick press release just in from the team:
Sunday Singing Clappers now oficially have the hump with our performance and are only turning up to races in order to be around for the after-race drinks
#FR
ahahahahahaha!
I bet he went looking for that shot too!
50th issue! Champagne and plastic cups in the press room? Congratulations to the guys!
aw i may have to ask for a subscription for my birthday for next year... if its around next year? i take it there aren't off season releases..
Didn't like page 7 .. thought that was in very bad taste
is that the bum? yeah, not good.
yeah the hairy bum :(
it's hairy? oh.
well I can see hair with my specs on LOL
Now I'm laughing at this conversation .. just ignore me folks, I'll get back to "normal" soon
my mind, my beautiful mind :(
um....
blame Joe .. or Henri
Ooooh the News Quiz is back!
thankfully :)
Did you start that vicious rumour that it was cancelled? :P
maaaybe
bus Mr RG discovered that it was only temporary
No F1 forum after highlights on the red button?
grr...bbc you have irked me! grr
There was and it was on for ages.
And featured people not understanding EJ.
noooooo spoliers!
:D
:( but isn't that just normal?
Oh hang on... sorry I thought you meant the highlights straight after the race, the 5min thing post-race pre-forum. You're meaning the red button highlights on all day...
Well yes, but there was always the possibility he would be amazingly coherent, not this week i guess!
NOw do i wait to see if it appears by magic or do i catch up on the f1 news?
since i expect the efficiency of the BBC to be about as effective as an Alguersuari pit stop, i guess i should have a read of autosport...
I sat though the bbc 3 highlights on the red button because i hoped the forum would be on after it... the highlights are just looping unfortunately
I don't get what you miss out on by watching it after you've heard F1 news?
Is it not on the website?
It looses a lot of its fresheness.
The driver interviews are generally really boring after you know you have read anything remotely interesting which was said.
Its not a big issue, but i hoped to put it on after the debrief...
I don't really read autosport at all so i guess i don't have this issue so much
I was pleasantly surprised to find the replay up on iPlayer when I got home.
No, its strange, they go to the effort of putting loads of clips on there, but not the forum, i am sure more people would be interested in seeing that...
I usually miss the forum. I'd give it a good couple of days honestly!
My FR team has jumped up another 20 places to 143rd. The aim for the end of the season is the top 100. Every race except Turkey my league position has improved. The start to the year was pretty awful though
Was that the race? the forum doesnt seem to go up on there as it is a red button thing...
Its so unfair! make them put it up sooner!
My ipod is being very annoying.
I said buying then selling, I never said keeping. :(
i clearly was asleep at this point
hehehe
oh and its a virtual beating, it wont hurt :) promise
What's the problem?
I love how Schumacher still is worth more than Glock on Fantasy Racers
It just decided not to download any podcasts.
Ctrl + A, the right click and click update
?
I just kicked it. It worked for the KERS earlier.
Awwww!
You looking forward to getting started on your course tomorrow?
they're on iTunes? Check the settings on the podcast tab.
Very much so!! Been looking at assignments and such for Event Marketing (which is what i have tomorrow), and it's very much up my street. We have a seminar teaching us how to use Audacity!!
Great stuff, you have to admire that.
We have to create a 30 second radio ad as part of an assignment, so im well sorted, has all the equipment in my room.
Good good! Really hope you enjoy yourself tomorrow and you meet some amazing folk on your course.
Have you been out of education a little while?
Were we talking about OCR on here the other day?
Ages....for a whole.....
3 months ;)
the exam board?
I think you may be thinking of dank?
Oh okay. I don't know where I got that idea from. Sorry!
My favourite exam board! Well, them and AQA
Morning, everyone.
The worst-kept secret in F1 history might just finally be revealed next weekend:
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/78995
With Kubica to Renault possibly being announced soon after according to AUTOSPORT, Heikki's running out of open seats.
Dank's doing Motorsport Engineering at Oxford Brookes..?
surely Heikki stands a chance at a seat, there are new teams coming in after all ;)
Optical Character Recognition.
I don't really know Dank. I think I was just generally confused!
After 2 laps behind the safety car leggard is talking about the 2 hour cut off.....and says the not-obvious-at-all-na-ah statement of "the safety car cant lap as fast as the f1 cars"
i think you just joined Amy's naughty step
I think their have been worse kept secrets ;)
According to joe it has effectively already been announced!
that's true, but there won't be any Brawns among those new teams. ;)
i'd tip him either for Qadbak (Kubica's seat) or Lotus.
Ah yes, i thought it was a standard feature in acrobat, apparently not?
A lot more where that's coming from trust me
he's joining education for the first time in a while, so maybe thats where. anywho, should be fun :)
driver-contract wise, this is as bad as it gets, I think. i guess the only thing that rivals it was Senna's move to Williams.
I've just remembered this little gem (for Mac only), was going to give it a try:
http://www.creaceed.com/prizmo/
Lots of internal Tremayning here. (grr)
he just makes lots of random statements, i dont get it
when webber crahed out... "now whats happened there?"
same with lewis at monza! gah
From, from, from, from, from, from, from.
what?? why?i was saying he does have a good chance of racing next year...
LOOK AT THAT
with a back marker team?
I can't really imagine how Hamilton and Raikkonen in the same team will sustain itself.
Hmmm. Are things so bad you wouldn't mind a JA comeback? (Assuming the rumors that Croft and Brundle can't work together are true)
but not in a Mclaren. Naughty Lou.
I think the point would be that obviously he'll be racing next year because he shows such pure driving skill!
It seems to have lost half my comment or wordpress/doohicky doesnt like arrows...?
... WHAT? Its your job to tell me!!!!
You can say the same about Alonso and Massa, TBH. I think HAM-RAI will manage.
Amy would love Heikki to clear out if it means space for Kimi!
but this is all so that Kimi can go back to Mclaren...... plus there is nothing wrong with supporting a back marker team, i did it for long enough :P
if it's for Kimi, Amy would be, in her words, "the first person to kick him out." ;)
thats true
they werent always a back marker team
Good point. Would Heikki fit in at Toyota?
There wont be a problem with Alonso and Massa... unless Alonso is being beaten by him ;) :P
you have a point...
This was the seccond part of this
Its all gotten terribly confused  sorry
With Glock? Why not? But Toyota might decide to go for a Jap, TBH.
I really cant see it happening. Glock-Kaz ticks a lot more boxes in terms of the markets they represent
If you were a sensible person at Toyota, you'd pick Heikki over a Japanese driver.
I just think that Kovi/Glock combo isn't high profile enough for Toyota to bother with....
Oh please no. I thought Williams refusing to have him anymore meant Crapajima would be out....
What about the ex-BMW team? Could he go there if they make it on the grid?
If there were any sensible people at Toyota they'd have realised that they still have little chance of winning a race. ;)
:D
I dot think they would get any more out of it really.
Heikki is clearly a much better driver than kaz. but kaz can sell cars, and whilst heikki has good pace; he hasnt shown enough results to justify himself. he got the McLaren drive too soon i think...
I dont see why not, unless a paydriver jumps in there first...
I'd love to be in their board meetings, every sentance would be followed with "if we make the grid"
A crash and then Nando is leading....how ironic
Right, im off
Night all
Night!
Night Jon
You've probably gone but good luck tomorrow Jon. Enjoy yourself!
