Ah, it was an eventful day yesterday both on and off track in Bahrain, and back here in Sidepodcast Towers. Here are some of the things you might have missed:
- Brawn GP have started to wonder whether it is their one-lap pace that is letting them down in qualifying, which equally has a knock-on effect going into the Grand Prix in itself. Button lines up behine Toyota and Red Bull on the grid, with Barrichello further behind. Branson must still have faith in them though, as he is in Bahrain to discuss further sponsorship.
- In Sidepodcast news, you may have noticed the Doohickey as disappeared, and is currently redirecting to the LCLT. We got in a bit of a mess with comments yesterday and couldn't afford the admin overhead to sort out all the posts to the correct threads. Apologies for anyone this inconveniences, but we're doing our best to rectify the situation.
- And of course, it would be remiss of me to not point out the good luck charm I have sent Felipe's way. It's great fun to record a song about F1, and there seems to be some interest in the comments to do the same. I encourage everyone to do so, as RG has set up a wiki page to catalogue all our efforts.
That'll do it for now. We're mostly counting down the hours till the racing starts, and then once that's done, it'll be looking forward to the podcasts. See you in the (LCLT) comments.
Go Sutil!
Get well soon Doohickey, sending some Lucozade & grapes
I'm a little worried this weekend about the negative feelings resonating from the Brawn drivers. jenson seems really amazed at how the lack of pace is affecting the car in Bahraina nd I'm still really concerned about Rubens, he just seemed totally upset (which kinda upsets me in turn) but maybe it's just Bahrain, lou was saying earlier how the honda cars never did perform amazingly well here so who knows. They still have a very good car, which must be remembered for sure :)
I have half a doohickey, if that helps
half a doohickey?
A demidoohickey
Ooh Phat Planet came on my Winamp rotation, now I want a Guinness and I don't have any.
A dooh?
or a ickey? I had an ickey once, it went well with my booboo. that was a painfal day.
I'd really not "worry" about it. It's only round 4 and they've won 2 races, could possibly win 3 out of 4. They're going to have races where they're not the best, even Ferrari did in the dominance. When you might need to worry is at Catalunya. Bahrain is ****ing dull anyway so it can sod off.
Tweetdeck installed and is bloody great. Am now writing my Thursday Previews just ever so slightly late. Old Speckled Hen is presently my favourite beer. That is all.
It's a fantastic program for twitter but it's so unstable! It's the DC of programs - As much as you love the damn thing, half the time it just falls apart and crashes!
I want Guinness now but have probably had my alcohol quta for the week.
Will just pretend there isn't a bottle of Chilean Merlot in the cupboard
Have had zero issues with it, so far
Golf update: I suck.
I missed it so I knocked together something with AJAX and the RSS "recent comments" feed... - Theres a nasty hidden form field that specifies what thread to reply in though which means it isn't going to work for posting...
Makes a decent temporary doohickey-like comment viewer though
Mine crashes at least 10+ times a day i've read a lot of similar issues with a lot of other people :(
Version 0.25 on Mac here and keeping fingers crossed now
Watching some old skool 90s Australian Touring Cars on YT. :D
Is that pre V8s?
I'll see you guys in the morning, my jaw is almost falling off from yawning... night everyone :)
1993, first year they went back to the 5.0Ls. Still mystified why the B&H team were allowed to run M3s when Group A was banned :S
Mind you it's amazing one of those little Bimmers can pass the V8s, let alone stay with them.
Now switched to 1992. Gotta love dem Godzillas :D
Amy, I haven't forgotten. I just haven't managed to drop.io this:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/8017471.stm
Anyone is welcome to try if they can rip from the BBC news video site for a desperate & committed Heikki fan
Loving Dick Johnson chatting to the commentators while he's driving :D
I bought a bottle of St Germain earlier (on sale, not seen it anywhere for *years* and there it was, pretty bottle and all...) Have suggested that DP should photograph and drop.io but he hasn't bitten...
(probably ought to add that St germain is an 'elderflower based liqueur' as its possibly not a well known drink outside of cocktail or bar circuits - I only know about it as it is a major flavour in an interesting cocktail or few; oh heck long story....)
sounds like something alex needs to know about.
Giggles would approve then :D
Great Joe Saward aSide btw
really enjoyed that one. great questions from the comments. hopefully we can do more of that.
Snap! I'll dig the camera out later on. Or you can do a search for it.
Good morning!
How's everyone doing? Race is 12 hours away.

Good [insert SidepodTime] Journeyer
Autosport now doing first stop predictions
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/74839
Less predictions, more like... maths :)
:D It's morning here and there, so we're fine. ;)
Vettel will stop on Lap 17.9. Make of that what you will!
But seriously, they have slightly different guestimates to the others. Vettel is stopping a lot later in their version...
Oh, and my post timestamps are still messed up... I hope that doesn't cause problems or anything.
Another example of poor statistical analysis. They should have said lap 17 or 18.
I'm still calling 75 mins after midnight night time but I've always been pedantic ;)
Erm, what?
http://www.autosport.com/news/grapevine.php/id/74834
it's ok. been like that since uk times moved forward.
Mind you, Rubens is going into space!
Very odd, actually... I guess the lap they'll stop on depends on what fuel mix they'll use for the race. They can go for a slightly less rich mix so that they can stretch to lap 18, or use a richer mix and pit on lap 17. I guess it will depend on DerSeb's pace relative to the Toyotas.
As I was flicking through he comments earlier I saw something about Lauda to be a space cadet.
Thought the commenter had got it wrong and was referring to Bernie
Finally he becomes the fastest F1 driver ever :)
Should be fun - Niki Lauda will bring Rubens Barrichello into space!
Yep. It's not like there's another fuelling station halfway round the track is there? Autosport need to convert to integers!
Right, I'm off for some sleep. Should be awesome viewing the race on my Dad's 42-inch TV, so can't wait for that. Night all :)
Night Scott
Good night, Scott.
night Scott, and it's goodnight from me too.
Good night, Andy.
Lol - its called 'hedging your bets' isn't it? :-D
Night Andy
It's being neither here nor there, actually. They didn't say Vettel would stop on Lap 17 or 18, they just said Lap 17.9. Bizarre.
if he runs out of fuel halfway round...
It's 17.9, so he'll probably run out of fuel on the penultimate straight. But hey, at least it's downhill from there to the pits!
Question for Facebook users. Is the doing a Note the same as a blog post? Is there even a Blog option?
Blogging and Facebook should not be uttered in the same sentance :)
Just finished Graham Hill and now listening to Joe
Night all. :)
Night, Dom. :)
Night Dom.
One interesting point from the Graham Hill film. We have heard a lot this year about big drivers having a disafvantage as if it is something new. When Jackie Stewart became Hill's team mate in 1965 JYS had a straight line advantage because he was shrter and could run a lower windscreen and therefore had less drag.
Interesting. Height is still a factor in F1 today - I remember Justin Wilson's woes...
I wonder where our Aussie friends are - they should be up by now...
They must be slacking today. Apart from Amy who didn't go to bed at all. Last I heard she had been up all night and was going out for breakfast
Can someone explain to me why Webber is running so light at the back? Is it so he can make some progress early?
Looks like it has been done to let him pass cars early. Maybe he will start on the softer tyres and try to gain as many places as possible before doing a couple of longer stints on the hards.
I ceratinly am. Very cold here in the capital today. Expecting snow above a 1000m. Not bad as it was 42degC two months ago.
My piquetness reached new dimensions. I've just deleted 45GB of racing material (pictures, documentaries, races ...)
As Buemi would say, noooooooooo....!
Isn't there a way to recover that?
nope.
Have you moved any files since the delete? If you haven't, there should be some file recovery programs out there that can get back at least some of that...
I've formated the disk :)
Oh. Right, then...
I am efficient :D
I'll say!
Anyone watching Motegi MotoGP right now?
I am watching MotoGP. I don't really follow it but I'm trying to.
Yep...well not while I'm in here.
I know Stoner's going backwards.
Your boy Stoner not in tip-top shape right now. Lorenzo trying to make his title aspirations felt...
Why is the race only 24 laps? That seems short. I'm not kidding when I say I know nothing about this!
24 laps x roughly 2-minutes per lap = 48 minutes. They run non-stop in fully dry conditions, so that's as long as the riders can handle...
Ahh, I'm not a fan of things that are over as soon as they start!
48 minutes isn't that short! :D It usually seems a long time.
That's true, what I've seen feels like it's gone for aaages because I'm bored with it.
Races are usually tighter than this. I find it very surprising to be watching a MotoGP race that's having less overtaking than a Formula 1 race! ;)
even the crashes have been unspectacular
yup - only thing that's been surprising about this race is the way Stoner just stumbled backwards from 2nd to 7th.
Pedrosa is faster, but he keeps understeering when he passes Rossi.
Good win by Lorenzo - he now leads the Championship, and has to be considered as a proper contender. That would be good news for Stoner, as the Yamaha duo will take away points from each other...
hooray I came 5th in the latest BATracer round and got my first points in aaaages :D
Morning all.
Oops, that was me. As if Mr C would be up this early.
Hey Mr C.
OUCH! A jar just fell on my foot. owwwwwww...
Ha! I knew it! No way Mr C could be up this early!
And as if Mr C would use capitals...
Haha my first thought was 'isn't the race still 5 hours away?'
Hehehe.
:D
Morning everyone :)
Just finished watching qualifying.
First watch or replay?
I wonder if the sandstorm forecasts were true...
First watch. Sadly I couldn't watch live yesterday as I had guests and had to man the barbeque.
I will however be watching the race live today.
Good to hear! :) Still a long wait though.
Apparently F1 people are ranked 3rd to 9th on the list of Britain's richest athletes. Any guesses who is where?
Athletes? Hmmm... Lewis, Jenson, not sure about the rest...
Jenson is 9th apparently, worth 40 million.
It's hard to know who's on it because they're referring to athletes - which rules out Bernie, Sir Frank, and Ron.
Morning folks.
BAT race is done. Basically - I won, despite a broken engine for all but the first 6 laps of the race. :D
Does that mean you need to swap it for a new one next time out?
There's now just 10 points in it between Al, Lou and myself at the top of the championship. Nice and tight :)
It wasn't severely damaged, but we will be using a new engine in Hungary, which is comfortably inside the limit of 8 we're allowed. ;)
Yay!
Hungary's next - not worth running KERS here, is it?
Morning all.
Beautiful day outside, nice day for some football followed by some Formula 1. And the BTCC is on today as well, should catch that after the F1. Sooo, hi.
Oooh nice call on the BTCC! Gives me and dad something to watch after the race. :D
Goodness, the Internet is crawling today. I hope it improves before the race - or else I'll have to forget about having a BBC stream. :(
Is 1'11.4 a good time around the Hungaroring? That's my best time in BAT practice.
Real life lap record is 1'19.071 by Schumacher, so this is something that needs fixing.
Faster than Schumi, eh? Well done you ;)
:D
Considering I've just went 5 tenths quicker, then no.
Arse.
Hehehe, I won't say it' true to real life since the 2009 carset is technically still a WIP. They just released it with all the basic gameplay functions for people to play it, mainly so it was out in time with Melbourne. They're still to add some bits in and some performance adjustments I should imagine. If they want to make this carset as real as possible, I shouldn't have thought they'll keep the cars running 8 seconds faster than the actual lap record for too long!
Checking last year's qualifying times, even they're running in the 1'19s.
If someone gets into the 1'09s, we'll have to scrap Hungary!
;)
We're getting a softer inter at Monaco from Bridgestone
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/74857
Story reads that it's coming in to "counterbalance the loss of aerodynamic grip in wet conditions".
In IRL news, there was a tornado scare near the circuit in Kansas.
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/74856
It's gotten quiet again... *echoes*
Didn't Montoya get pole in that NASCAR thingy as well?
He did indeed.
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/74843
Right, see ya Scott/anyone still lurking, for the race.
See ya R.G. That reminds me, Dad's picking me up at 11 so I'd better start getting ready. Be back soon :)
*leaves an empty LCLT, the sound of the door closing echoing all around*
Morning all. Shame about the Doohickey. Any predictions for the race? Mine is Vettel, Trulli and Hamilton on the podium.
Good morning everyone :)
I'm expecting it to be...
Glock
Jenson
Vettel
Rubens
Hamilton
Trulli
Raikonnen
Webber
Gonna do a bit of recording in a sec too...
Wooohoo!
I think I'll open the race thread a bit early.
Morning all,
You will have to miss my insight and humour today as I won't be able to see the race live - I'm off to visit an Oil Rig. If I get back in time and see the race I might join you the debrief/panel.
See you later and enjoy the race :D
Have fun!
The new thread is up and running:
http://www.sidepodcast.com/2009/04/26/live-bahrain-the-race/
Ok... my song is recorded. Will upload in a second, although the choruses are terrifying :D
http://drop.io/sidepodcast/asset/piquets-time-is-running-out-mp3
Enjoy ;)
Just started, should've guessed Muse backing track...
I'm not predictable in any way ;)
Good job! You are all a lot braver than I :D
Another great one, you're making it harder for people to step up to the challenge on this task
Top stuff!
Ooh, love it!
Let this be a lesson to those bunking off work:
'Ill' worker fired over Facebook
*sits back down in daily thread land* :)
Hey again Lukeh
it's been quiet here today hasn't it? :P
Now, where were we? :D
Apparantly there has been a 'race' on
LDM is a stoopid as Flav
Nah, LDM is smarter, but just as hot-headed.
Ohhh.. that Formula 1 thing. I hear it was in Bahrain yknow, how mad is that.
Really? Hmm, never noticed.
Hello daily.
Bah-where now? Gawd the put these things anywhere, where next, the moon?
Silly to draw so much attention to how they didn't interpret the rules as well as others and can't get KERS to work
For Lou and Lukeh:
gerritv: #F1 Every driver who has won three of the first four races has gone on to win the F1 world championship that year.
:o
dont get our hopes up too much!!
must.not.get.too.excited.
Every driver? :D
Think I'll turn on Wii Fit and try this new fad called, uh, jogging. I believe it's jogging or yogging. it might be a soft j. I'm not sure but apparently you just run for an extended period of time. It's supposed to be wild.
;)
(heart) the jogging stuff on it.
Let's see...
Lukeh, just listened to your song. Brilliant mate, just brilliant :D
2005 - Alonso - Champion
2004 - M. Schumacher - Champion
2002 - M. Schumacher - Champion
2001 - M. Schumacher - Champion
2000 - M. Schumacher - Champion
1998 - Hakkinen - Champion
1996 - D. Hill - Champion
1994 - M. Schumacher - Champion
1992 - Mansell - Champion
1991 - Senna - Champion
That's as far as I know, I can look it up and keep going...
Sunday evening with nothing to do, what a concept!
Got quiet, all of a sudden.
LDM quoted in Autosport
"When Michael stopped, I told him - do you want to become a manager?," said Di Montezemolo. "Do you want to be for one year on the right arm of Jean Todt and then replace Jean Todt? Yes or No? [He said] No!
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/74867
I knew that. He knows he wouldn't be as good a manager as Todt. And I don't think he wanted to help LDM dethrone Todt.
Would be better than Stefano probably
Don't tell me... pub :)
aahh that’s much better have changed into my honda shirt seems to be a bit of a tradition when it comes to jenson’s wins now
Now there's an idea, late shift tomorrow so lie in is a bonus
Better in some areas, worse in others, I'd imagine.
nice tradition :P
All we need know is the brawngp shirts, I love the ones Ross etc all wear :)
Is that possible?
I've just seen the results on Fantasy Racers .. Kathi leads the whole of Fantasy Racers league w00t!
Maybe I'm being mean, am not a fan of the ponies
Sure, why not? :) Michael's the best, but he's not perfect.
Wow you didn't get moderated for that... Mr C must be sick ;)

Is this a Machiavellian competition?
What about each driver's fastest lap?
:D
Whaaat? What did I say?
:) i want a nice one like the honda one i have :P... will have to see what they come up with on the 16th June.
Get well soon Mr C
They're included in the averages. :S
Ah wow... a random photo I took on my phone on the way to work yesterday came out pretty amazingly
Will upload in a sec :)
Just wondered as it doesn't take into account those who back off towards the end cos they're not getting a medal
Etymologically, his sixteenth-century contemporaries adopted and used the adjective Machiavellian (elaborately cunning), often in the introductions of political tracts offering more than government by “Reasons of State”, most notably those of Jean Bodin and Giovanni Botero; while contemporary, pejorative usage of Machiavellian (anti-Machiavellism in the 16th C.) is a misnomer describing someone who deceives and manipulates others for gain; (personal or not, the gain is immaterial, only action matters, insofar as it effects results). The Prince hasn’t the moderating themes of his other works; politically, “Machiavelli” denotes someone of politically-extreme perspective;[7] however Machiavellianism remains a popular speech and journalism usage; while in psychology, it denotes a personality type.
Just to clarify, these averages are calculated from each driver's fastest times in all 3 practice sessions, his best time in qualifying overall, and his fastest race lap.
Sorry about that, unsuccessfully tried to edit that wiki quote
Ah, ok. Thanks Scott. Good work
http://drop.io/sidepodcast/asset/dsc00319-jpg
on my amazingly super duper massively awesome 2 megapixel camera phone. Well I thought 2 megapixel was good until london trip... :P
Nice pic Lukeh
8MP is the standard now for phones, 12+ soon no doubt
It's still the quality of the sensor and lens that count though
:(
No luck with the last song's artist - does anyone have a video of it?
It was a cover but I've no idea by whom
To be fair I had no idea with the whole megapixel stuff with phone cams and digital cams fro a while. I just liked the word megapixel :D
it's like a marks and spencers version - this isn't any old pixel, this is a megapixel...
:D
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megapixel#Megapixel
Aw darn... I'm hoping seeing the video myself would help my cause...
hehehe :D
samsung have a new 12megapixal camera phone out soon i think..
Maybe James Allen will use it in a voiceover video :D
Sony Ericsson's with Carl Zeiss lens for me
As do Sony Ericsson which will be touch screen as well.
Heavens, no! :O
i'll cope with my lovely samsung with 8megapix i think :D
Hopefully it'll be available on Vodafone. The Idou is a phone I definately want.
Next iPhone may be as high as 3.2MP :(
SE C905 should be
"I'm so pleased my new phone has 8 megapixels now
*looks at back of phone* I've only got 2... :("
:P
What's the new SE phone called?
hehee aww :( sorry about that ;)
:D
haha, that's alright. to be fair i've had this for years so it's a bit behind but it does the job. :)
I've got 3.2 on mine.
Funny that my first thought when I read that was a hand gesture
:D
Haha :)
I know everyone was laughing at me last night for my alarm going off at the wrong time. Have just noticed on the Force India site, their countdown to the Bahrain GP says 30mins still to go.
Idou is a silly name for a phone, no matter how many MPs
http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_idou-2683.php
So Fisi thought it was FP3?
I guess so!
Just listened to your Piquet song, Lukeh. Very good :D
I would have thought that was more likely to be BMW's excuse. We thought the warm up had been re-instated and the race was in an hour's time
thanks :)
Still can't think of a song to do myself though.
Holding out for a...
I've said too much
Haha! :D
BTCC Race 3 is goooooooo! :D
Howdy all, race was good, glad Jenson won....a) Is Mr C ill again? :(b) how is everyone?
A) Yes sadly, went straight back to bed after the race :(
b) Good thanks, just watching the third BTCC race at Thruxton on TV. Really good racing so far.
Hi Jon.
a) Mr C is ill STILL.
b) Very good. How are you?
Mr C is ill sadly, live show unlikely tonight. Myself, feeling alright
a) indeed :( poor mr c. Hope he gets better soon.
b) i'm good, very very pleased for jenson and rubens :)
Well, no PodPanel, that's for sure. Debrief is unknown but highly unlikely. Wouldn't get your hopes up for it though.
Yeah, it is good
Booooo, send him my good vibes...
Yeah, alright thanks, had a mixed day so far.
http://allenonf1.wordpress.com/2009/04/26/f1-holds-its-breath/
F1 holds its breath... sort of.
Legard was going on about this, and now James Allen is. Must be a thing with bad commentators.
seriously, 21 minutes holding your breath!? what kind of person is he!
Bernie seemed amused, I guess.
This is just too... bizarre. This isn't what F1 is about... not even close.
Trying to push David Blaine out of the spotlight...
Oooh he has my support too then.
:D
Not a fan of David Blaine, then?
I dunno, I was really embarrassed for british people when they started throwing stuff at him in that box in london. That was very sad to witness. But his stunts sometimes just annoy me personally, like standing on a pole for days, or sitting in some ice. Why? I just don't get him.
It's what magicians do, I guess... Always has been, always will be. Ask Houdini.
oh dear... looks like Mr C isn't the only one unwell.. looks like Alonso wasn't too good after the race either. poor Alonso :(
FR: Dropped from 419th to 425th.I'd ditched Kubica for this one but Alonso and Rosberg went with him.. Glock and Buemi didn't score as well as I'd hoped.
Yeah true.
Youve got me thinking of a brilliant character now in a TV show, Arrested Development... but not many people have seen it. :(
damn.. hope he's alright :/
In the main game I dropped 33 positions to 3595th
Arrested Development - a shame that show went off the air. Didn't watch it regularly though. Jessica Walter (who was the mom) was one of the leading ladies in Grand Prix.
Comment in moderation.
Hehe, do you remember the character Gob Bluth? The magician who refused to say he did magic. :D
Such an underrated show...
Ooh, looks nasty. Hope he gets well soon as well
I think I had a comment put in moderation in the Live Race thread. Tried to send it but it didn't appear.
Alonso had a glazed look in his eyes... hope all is well.
and people thought Jenson's sunglasses were bad
haaha i like
Thermal vision - now in sunglasses style! :D
When you see an athlete like Alonso in that condition, imagine one of us after punding around the track for over an hour.
Anyway, I really hate Luca Di Montezemolo. Comes with such ridiculous comments, like Singapore being bad for F1, that it was a "clown race". Also called Alonso sporting in 2007, and still whines on about the diffuser lark. Such a annoying, moany, sore loser.
Woodwiss, I see Dom aint giving up the fight in the lap time challenge just yet
not sure our necks would survive more than a few laps, never mind the heat of it.
I know a maths teacher who had similar ones, enough said
Yeah, we'd probably have to give up half way through, less. Assuming our necks could withstand it
Enzo did it too in the past - people outside Ferrari didn't care, but people inside Ferrari knew it was a sign of trouble. Same case applies here.
Wow, amazing lap Dom. I've not really tried since Thursday, but I can't get past a 1:17.8 really. Dom has 10-ish minutes left.
Holy crap, that's close!
I had to drop.io this because nobody will believe it otherwise:
http://drop.io/sidepodcast/asset/domgridlap-jpg
Brilliant :D
YOU......!
oh the drama
*cue eastenders closing theme*
I do have a habit of leaving things to the last minute...
Vettel esq
Wow... just wow.
Quality. Absolute quality.
Wow, incredible. How the hell?!
Right that's it. I'm gonna be running laps all this week to make sure I don't lose this time! ;)
Doing that has taught me two things
1) The less I concentrate on driving a lap, the faster I go (as long as I don't crash)...
2) If you want to beat Scott you need A LOT of practice!
Scott, what have you learned? ;)
:D
Congratulations Dom. I keep wishing you could save a replay, or upload replays onto Codemasters' site. EA Sports have it with Fifa games, shame Grid doesn't.
Anyway, start thinking of a car and track. :P
Ooh, I get to do that too! Just a sec. :)
how about Brands Hatch Indy? (if they have that), its a short circuit so the times will be really close?
We wouldn't be able to drive the car in the first place let alone last more than a couple of laps if we could. I am surprised to see a modern driver in that condition though. When downforce levels started getting silly at the end of the 70s/start of the 80s it was quite common for drivers to collapse after races in hot countries/ Since then with training, diets etc it is not really a problem. Maybe the weight loss in the winter is killing stamina this season combined with the insane schedule.
Well done Dom :) Close or what!
That would be good, but I don't think they have Brands.
That's what I was thinking.
it would make sence, Alonso did loose a load of weight didn't he. So much in fact i think he's been told he can't loose anymore or it will be dangerous for his health... is that right? it could be something i've made up, i'm not sure.
it actually does worry me when you see the comparison between him before the winter and at the start of the season. :(
And Kimi and Nico too - they lost a lot of weight, and for what? Losing weight for KERS has put out a lot of drivers.
I think Nico was the one who struck me most. Theres a pic in F1 Racing of him last year and this year, and theres a very noticeable difference.
Evening
Hey, Jackie. have you heard the news about the Panel?
evening jackie :)
do you know that there will probably be no panel tonight? mr c is ill :(
Yes I do Lukeh thanks. Poor Mr C, get well soon
Hope he gets well soon too. No racing for 2 weeks, that should give him lots of time to rest.
It just means that there's more time for people to sign up for next week :D
Yep, it has been a punishing schedule for them both, I don't know how they cope and work at a day job as well
“I’m so pleased my new phone has 8 megapixels now
*looks at back of phone* I’ve only got 2… :(” {Comment #217}
I have 1.3 megapixels, but that's OK. Mostly it's for "Mum, could you get to the station in 15 minutes?" calls, music/video provision and being a lean mean blogging machine...
Its a shame they have to crash diet and all that... The FIA could've stuck a few kilos on the weight limit to prevent it all so easily.
No wonder they're all miserable
Did you all enjoy the race then
Jenson isn't. ;) Christian Horner isn't miserable about losing weight, either.
I did. :)
Is it still Ferrari's worst start to the season after Kimi's points today?
Looking it up:
In terms of points, no. Ferrari scored 3 points today, they only scored 2 points on Race 4 in 1980 and 1981.
In terms of position, yes. 2 points back then was for 5th place, 3 points now is only for 6th place.
All in all, I'll still say this is their worst start ever.
So, Jackie, how does it feel to be 2nd in the entire FR? :D
Thanks Journeyer :D I actually feel a bit sad that they are so far back. I'm not a huge Ferrari fan but there seems to be something missing this year with them and McLaren so far back
Brilliant thanks, I didn't expect to move up since I don't have Lewis in my team but I am chuffed .. but hey, Kathi is numero uno and the League is way aead of the competition
McLaren are en route back to the front. They probably won't catch Brawn, but if Jenson romps to the title, McLaren can aim for 2nd in the Constructors... unless that 30-point penalty does come true on the 29th, which would probably mean they'd have to work hard just to get back up to 4th.
that should be ahead
Would that mean minus points then?
Yep big improvement in the McLaren. I still think they'll get a 2 race ban though
If it does happen, yep, they'll be on negative points.
Nah, won't happen. Not with Lewis allying himself with Max. Not to mention Max told him and Anthony not to leave McLaren. It'll be a points deduction and/or a big fine, but nothing more.
If anything a 30 point reduction would be worse than a ban in terms of their current points haul per race.
That I shouldn't just sit back and rest on my laurels after one session of gameplay, even if I've gone fastest by quite a way.
What's this weeks combo then?
But Lewis will still be showing up, and that's what the sponsors and TV networks are concerned about.
It's actually Heikki I feel sorry for, he did nothing wrong yet will potentially suffer.
http://zerodownforce.blogspot.com/
New poll up, would appreciate it if you'd stop by and vote, and maybe leave a comment if you wish :)
Another reason why a race ban won't happen.
BTW, 30-point deduction would only apply to WCC, not WDC.
Could a driver race ban happen?
Mantovani Bahrain drawing up...
http://mantovani.zip.net/
Are you starting to see a theme...?
Schuey's had it done to him in the past.
Rubens wasnt THAT slow. :(
LMAO! Brilliant :D
It's possible, but it's the most unlikely scenario. Max is more likely to blame McLaren than Lewis - after all, the rules state that the constructor will be accountable for the driver's actions, especially in this case where the team supposedly ordered him to lie.
And again, Lewis and Anthony have allied with Max, so that won't happen.
I must remember not to click links fro the LCLT and do it from ye old comments
Haha, same here, I was wonderign where the little box was and why the page was reloading :P
Right click it and select open in new tab?
Mr C will hopefully create an update for that soon. Open it in a new tab in the meantime.
Rubens' day goes from bad to worse: his site gets hacked.
http://babelfish.yahoo.com/translate_url?doit=done&tt=url&intl=1&fr=slv&lp=xx_en&trurl=http%3A%2F%2Fgloboesporte.globo.com%2FEsportes%2FNoticias%2FFormula_1%2F0%2C%2CMUL1098860-15011%2C00-SITE%2BOFICIAL%2BDE%2BRUBENS%2BBARRICHELLO%2BE%2BINVADIDO%2BPOR%2BHACKERS%2BAPOS%2BCORRIDA.html
how'd you do that then?
Or middle click if you have a mosue with 3 clickymajigs
how sad.
:/
I have a finger! LOL!
Rubens wasn't really slow at all...
To be fair, Rubens' day today wasn't all that bad, and he's still 2nd in the drivers standings. But he better get a move on, or else Brawn may decide they need a rear gunner to have a better shot at the title...
What a shame and uncalled for.
That was a bad combination of two negative rubens things in a matter of minutes for a big rubens fan. Hmph.
Just as well you're not a DC fan like me then ;)
Shoulda put BMW there
How true .. not that I'm condoning it mind you.
Kubica must be livid after they decided to stop developing last years car to concentrate on the BMW lemon
I wonder whether they think that internally.
How disgraceful of people to say Rubens was slow today. Far from it! He was lapping faster than Jenson at one point. Give the man some credit for goodness sake.
I'm sure they are. None of them were working for the team in 1980 - not even LDM, who had been sent to other parts of the Agnelli empire.
For me, 1980 was their worst season ever. It was also the worst defense of a world championship.
Yup - surely he's sending out feelers to other big teams right now...
Rubens wasn't slow, but he was slower than Jenson. That's all that matters, really.
But which big team would want him, its similar to the Hamilton scenario really.
Red Bull instead of Webber?
But he was setting PB after PB at one point, lapping faster than Jenson for a short while.
Can't see him at BMW next season. Renault, perhaps.
Whats PB Scott?
Personal Best
I think Personal Best
Kubica is less likely to be considered as damaged goods than Hamilton. He's not isolated from other drivers, and he does give better technical input. A bit like Alonso, really.
If Brawn keep up the pace all year, he may look in that direction. Ferrari is a possibility, but Alonso's probably got that covered. Flavio may go after him, but he'd have the same concern as Alonso did - will Renault stay or will they go?
Thanks I'm dumb
Aww I wouldn't say that :)
Demidoohickey functionality! woo!
Highlights now on BBC3
If anyone fancies messing with my fake doohickey, its available Here
It's completely untested, other than the one post above, is likely to not work for most people, most of the time, and even when it does work only uses the "recent comments" RSS feed, which is typically a few minutes behind the action.
But I'm pretty happy with it for about 4 hours work in total :)
*and not so happy at my ability to create a link*
"Sorry, that content cannot be found."
that links not to waht the actual text says :P
copy-and-paste the link.
Am currently watching Cloverfield and checking in to see the panel/debrief status
Look like both are postponed
Get well soon Mr C
*quickly searches for funny formula 1 pics to make lukeh smile*
hehe found one. you gotta love John Button :)
http://tinyurl.com/d86bx5
I'm trying to watch NASCAR Talladega - quite curious to see how JPM gets on. This may be his first real chance to really establish himself in the Chase reckoning.
LOL
That's brilliant :D :D
What's the status of the plan to have a private Sidepodchat on Skype? I assume the outlook for that's not promising either.
Yeah, good shot
haha. Brilliant :D
No one's brought it up...
*cough* *splutter* doh! - fixed
Oh well, back to Cloverfield, someone just exploded in a John Hurt stylee
Nice to see him acting like most other people would - posing in the background in an utterly crazy manner. :P
it's fantastic, youd NEVER see anthony hamilton doing that :D
made me feel miles better just laughing at that, thanks lou :D
:D
In case you miss JPM:

:D
BMW at Milan for the GRID challenge, eh? Alright, I'd better get running some laps then... ;)
Oh my god thank goodness my 360 is dead.
City track? Interesting...
It's an evil track! :D
every corner has tyres on the outside wall on the exit and misjudge the backend of the car and you will literally go flying. the amount of times ive been sent tumbling with flips and spins... it's like piquet's best dream
BOOGITY BOOGITY BOOGITY, LET'S GO TALLA-DEGA RACIN', BOYS! :D
Haha! You're watching NASCAR! :P
Indeed I am :D
erm...?
:) Just realised, Juan Pablo's on pole!
Better than Istanbul. A real racing track should not allow such a margin for error with such sizable run-off. I might as weell add that I really like Milan. Might not be great at it, but it's a good Monaco substitute.
Just got my time up onto the Wiki ;)
Phew, shattered now. Spent last 40 minutes doing Wii fit stuff in combination with laughing at pictures... strange how wel the two go together :P
ok i'd just like to say awwwww at the emotional jenson on the podium today
http://tinyurl.com/cvbe34
awwww
he does look so pleased :)
compare that to the expression for 3rd in china
The big one took out Jeff Gordon and... Max Papis! Remember him, 90s F1 fans? :D
Montoya still in the running (albeit not in the lead), but The Big One (TM) took out a lot of his main challengers.
Just thought of something - would KERS work in NASCAR?
Its probably not needed theres so much overtaking. Or atleast there was when i used to watchit regularly a few years ago.
That is a very nice trophy
Now watching the FSR WC race live at Shanghai :D
Next up tonight "Changeling" or "The Fall"
Undedcided so far
Changeling's supposed to be good.
changeling is such a good film.
Bassano, is James Allen any good on Italian tv?
Regarding Grid, not set a proper trouble-free lap yet, but I won't get near a 1:27.
I don't know, I don't watch Italian TV, I'm in London
I'd imagine he's not good on any TV
C'mon Giuseppe! Give it socks =P
Hey everyone
I refused to answer that question nor any inquries as to Martin Blundell's nor Pier-Luigi Martini's F1 career...
Oh, crap.
Oh. Better ask Scott In Italy then.
I could give it wellies but I'll have to get used to the BMW. Expected it to be like the Lacetti, oops.
Not on most tracks as they never seem to brake. You might see the odd lift as the throttle moves above the floor, but that it.....
lol, well you're going to have to uphold the pride of our nation on your own this time. Dont think ill get a chance to take part this week.
He might have first hand knowledge ;)
Can't see how he'd be any better over there, unless he's not a complete fool in another language
James Allen is saying ITV F1 won an award for their Brazil coverage in 2008.
We all know they only got it because Ted was bending the rules to find stuff out. ;)
They were in a dar worse situation in 1980 than now. That car was absolutely garbage and the only reason it scored points was because Gilles even though he knew it was rubbish still scored points with it.
There's still time ;)
surprise surprise lol.
Oh man, it's 8pm already?
Doesnt feel so late...
Martin Blundell, eh? Is he Mark's cousin? ;)
Anyway, will watch NASCAR in bed. Good night! :)
anyone wanna help me out here? lol
http://twitter.com/F1_lou/status/1622045868
For anyone who thinks we don't suffer for our art, I CANNOT get Felipe Baby out of my head and it's driving me insane :)
aw :D it's great though :)
But it's brilliant, and so's your voice :D
That's because you're an amazing singer!
It's alright for me, because I sound like I have a cold when I sing and that makes it awful ;)
I thought he finished second. Thats cleared it up, thanks sticker
haha :D
you've solved the dilemma! :P
I still cant work it out why or how it got there.
No, he is
but why?
Why not :D
Maybe John did it, he looked like he'd had a few

Stare of a winner! :P
yep i do.
Brian the Goat was great...
Tastes like chicken?
:D
I think the sticker come from the the place where the caps, towels etc for the firt three are kept. Do eother button removed the label and stuck it on himseld or Vettel took it and stuck it on him as a joke.
Ok, that's not too bad then
Well thats the most logical explanantion ive heard so far
Post Comment button not working very well in LCLT/DD
Vettel, I could believe
Most logical but least legible. Black keys and letters have almost been rubbed off
So... to make Mr C feel better, we're watching Roary the Racing Car (available for purchase on iTunes).
Heheheee! :D
If Mr C's there - get well soooooon :)
Hahaha, quality! :P
Alsom follow that up with a bit of Brum!
Have Slumdog Millionaire on in the background considering opening Aperture[that'll be a couple of hours lost]
that does make sense. :)
I wonder if Mr C's criticising how unrealistic it is
"A NASCAR beating a single seater? That would never 'appen"
Hehehe. So far no criticisms.
Does this mean you've seen it too?
Oooooh
Indeed, I've been rather partial to it on a weekday morning ;)
I love the cartoon heat haze!!
:D
They have a sports award on the BAFTAs at the mo, im guessing this is what james allen was on about them winning for ITV
This is my current Flickr stream which is mostly Vietnam '06
Hope to add more later tonight

Very tasty.
One of my faves

Awww, I had James Allen out of my head as well
Yep F1 ITV won. The clip they had showed THAT woman and james Allen. Yay.
Who?
HOW DID THAT JUST WIN!?!?!
I hadn't got it out my head :( stupid playstation games
THAT woman.. you know, lewis's pussycat doll. She who shall not be named.
voldermort?
It's taken two episodes, but we've just got the Marsha the Marshall thing.
Anyone seen that?

Evenin' all. I have returned from my trip out with my hat...
So is everything off for this evening then?
They are watching Roary the Racer or some such
Am I the only person who has no idea who Marsha the Marshal is?
i dont know either
She's in Roary the Racing Car.
nope i don't either.
you have some really lovely photos there :)
No.
That makes perfect sense then. Even Alex has never live commented a cartoon
Yes, Mr C is still ill, had to go back to bed straight after the race, so both the Debrief and PodPanel have been postponed. :(
That's true
Ah... Well that sounds like a very sensible outcome...
I hope Mr C feels better. Over here we are thinking of watching classic movie sneakers!
Evening all. I wish I'd popped my head up to see that the panel had been postponed, but then I'd have found out who won. Just finished watching on iPlayer (which almost let me down), that was a great race result for Brawn.
Andy, do you know if the Flickr Upload tool works with Aperture?
Sorry, how rude
And hello!
Thanks Lou,
Loading Phoenix now

There's a plugin available. http://www.flickr.com/tools/aperture
You're a star, thanks
Marques still managed to bring the car home in 3rd, smoking engine and all.
It says a plug-in for Aperture 1.5
I have Aperture 2, shall I try it?
[Have just done a Time Machine back-up]

Go jenson! :)
Bah. There's also FlickrExport for Aperture, available as free or pay for versions.

Then again, you should probably have a MobileMe account :D
I love the little phrases on his gloves : "One Goal" and "One Vision"
Was just heading over to the Apple support, thanks
Nice spotting!
Yup, they're on all alpinestars gloves i believe
Alpinestars are Queen fans?
apparently so :D
Oooh Andy... Interesting that you are here... How often do you get iPhone 1st Gens being brought back which just can't find a wifi? Kat's keeps dropping off the network :(
Oh and evening... Sorry... This is supposed to be your evening off!
Hi Alex. I can't really answer that question, sorry. All I can suggest is that you take it to the nearest Genius Bar (don't forget to make an appointment).
Have begun, don't think I'll get to finish until I pay up - but it's a start
http://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/sets/72157617354930434/
Just registered for PSRTV's announcers contest. :D
Is it wrong that I really want to find someone to blow raspberries on?
haha! Go John! :D
It sounds wrong for a start...
No, sounds ok to me
No problems Andy. Thanks!
:D
You're joking! They beat the olympics?? How??
Dunno, i didnt think the coverage of Brazil was that great, nothing more than usual.
It had mark blundell in a wet shirt. How that qualified as better than the olympics gives me a worrying opinion on our nation's voters.
:D
I thought the coverage of Brazil was actually the best they had ever done... even Steve wasn't too awful and James did a good job, but we know they choose the races based on what happens in them rather than whether the coverage was any good.
It was nowhere near the quality of the BBC Olympic coverage though... I don't understand how anyone could think that...
hehe :)
Plus the Olympics stuff had Jake, and Jake is our new presenting hero with his walking-talking madness, therefore we must be on his side! ;)
I think ITV did well with the Brazil stuff actually, but it's painfully obvious that the vote was about Lewis' win on the last corner over anything.
Now it's his walking-talking-squatting in the Ferrari garage madness.
Stuff like that makes it hard to watch, I tell ya. How that man achieves such feats of human ability astonishes me.
Back after family visit. From the lack of a live thread I take it MrC isn't feeling any better.
Am attempting to watch the impending IndyCar race but as ever the streams are not being friendly.
That half hour review of the olympics they did (I'm not sure how many people saw that?) was seriously amazing...
Think I've shown this before but, for Christine:

[Pandas not actually being consumed]
So bored tonight....
Even contemplating going through the garbage the other half has on the sky box.
I reckon it's because the Debrief and PodPanel got postponed, which is only fair seeing as it sounds like Mr C's in no fit state to be recording tonight. There is always Skype but I doubt many people would be interested. Still, I keep my headset on anyways. Just watching some enduro race playing on PSRTV.
Oh great - the Brawn GP cars just got a huge upgrade in the BAT game...
did we?! yay!!
:o
I didnt even realise!
Yup, 0.09 seconds by the looks of it. Basically it's smaller than it looks.
Don't do it Flibster, it's sure to be Charmed, Loose Women & Corrie ;)
How could you not notice:
"The Brawn GP chassis has been improved for better performance."
I only popped on earleir for 5 minutes and that was straight onto the car setup screen
Always check the Motorsport News section. You never know when an upgrade can spring up ;)
Yeah I usually do :P
I was just saying then I didn't actually go onto the home office page today so I didn't see it at all, now to go see the car comparison screen...
She has all the charmed episodes in the dvd box sets...
She isn't interested in loose women *that sounds so wrong...*
Corrie is a big no.
It's all Extreme makeover, dancing with the stars, NCIS *ooooh.. Abbey...* Bones and other rubbish.
I am confused. Am I supposed to panic about the Mexican swine flu or stay panicking about the bird flu from China a couple of years ago or should I still be panicking about SARS. All these diseases and scare stories. I am losing track of which one is going to wipe out the human race.
NCIS is not rubbish.
Bird Flu, ah yes. Forgot about that.
Any Hollyoaks, watchable with the sound down ;)
That's subjective
Might be best to stay away from Chiquitos for while ;)
Has it actually killed anyone though? I can't remember if it has.
At the end of the day, think about it - We had this with SARS and sorted it out, we had this wirh bird flu and we sorted it out. If we take the necessary precautions we did with those two then there shouldn't be anything to worry about, should there?
More on Alonso
http://f1.gpupdate.net/en/news/2009/04/26/alonso-dehydrated-after-race/
Bah, the dehydration line in my Piquet song affected the wrong driver!
Or maybe he listened and paid heed
:D
Poor Alonso though, he'll soon be back on his feet though. I must find that picture I got shown a while ago of the comparison pictures in his weight loss, there's robably one of Rosberg flying about somewhere too.
We have a new leader

None of us did. It's just part of the sidepodaddiction
So has anyone else noticed that the doohicky and Mr C got sick at the same time? You never see the two of them in the same place...
Co-incidence? I'll let you be the judge...
Last night I did suggest that the Doohickey might become Christine's co-host...
Good thinking!
In some ways it is the doohicky in the room.
:D
It has had a supporting role in previous live shows, perhaps it wanted more recognition and had to be put in it's place.
It needs a time out on the naughty step? Is that what you're saying?
First the panda gets uppity then the doohickey
It's unasseptable.

Aye, this may become my new desktop image: Hatching
I'm being asked to login to Flickr :(
Should work
Thanks Bassano. I really should sort out my Flickr account.
I'm on the verge of upgrading to a paid account I think
Have you checked out the alternatives? SmugMug, for example?
Not yet, but I've about 300 pics on their now :(
Good morning. The things you do for friends...
Anyway, how's everyone?
Just realized - P1!!!!! :D :D :D
Marvelling at your posting prowess. Congratulations :)
Thank you very much!
Posting prowess? I think 'prolific' is more appropriate. :)
I'll savor it this week - I'll lose it when I go out of town on the 1st. :)
Look Lou! - you only have to bide your time for a short while, then bang in some quick laps^W^W multiple post days while he's pitting^W away.
^W ?
And I'll be gone for 3 whole days - would you look at that! A golden opportunity, Lou. ;)
No idea what that is. ;)
Me neither
I'm slowly trying to move back up the order as well ;)
It's very hard to get into the top 5 - you need at least 2800 comments to have a chance.
Who knows - 3 days out, and I could slip out of the top 5 completely. Then I'd need a month to get rid of those 3 days I missed! :P
It means delete word. I can't write words with lines through them, this is the next best thing. It's an old UNIX command.

Ok then ;)
I'll say! I wasn't even expecting it!
It probably helped that I live commented China here. I did double duty yesterday. :)
It also helped that Lou was absent for a couple of days.
That's the spirit, Lou... erm... sorta... i guess. :P
You never know, Jackie, you may be quietly creeping up to it... ;)
Which will even out when I'm absent for 2-3 days.
I'm done with Flickr for now
Most photos are public

is now the right time to mention i may not be around much the early part of this week? I've got mocks every day apart from friday, and tomorrow is full of prefect meetings, and university talks. I may be around a bit, but don't be too surprised if i next pop up on friday or something :)
oh. i see...
that means it's up to lukeh, steven, or gavin to take P1 away from me. ;)
LOL at Fan Dhabi Dozy
I doubt i will but... ehh, we'll see :P
FR thinking cap on.
Rosberg isn't looking good for Spain - those new devs will probably mean Williams falling down the order.
But who can I swap him with? Am I willing to take a risk on either BMW, after narrowly escaping certain doom had I had them for Bahrain?
Hmmm.
I dropped him for Kimi for this race
Don't think they'll be big improvements till after Spain for most
He's outside what I can afford now. And they don't get their new double diffuser until Turkey.
BMW and McLaren are definitely bringing huge updates to Barcelona. Not sure how big the other's updates are.
Ferrari are bringing their double diffuser to Barcelona as well, don't forget.
Is it for Barcelona? I thought they won't have it until Istanbul?
I gained points today on the switch and Kimi has gone up in price already.
According to what someone said in the race thread, Ferrari's is coming in Spain along with BMW's.
Massa may be the better long-term pick, though. Not sure how Kimi's pace will hold up season-long, especially if they don't contend for the titles.
With Red Bull's and Toro Rosso's in Monaco.
BMW need some speed, Ferrari need some KERS reliability
drop the word KERS and your sentence will be dead-on.
At this point, my only chance is Kubica, it looks like. I'll have to wait until FP1 and 2 to see their pace with the updates.
okay, time for some sleep for me, got a history mock i'm not prepared for tomorrow :( hopefully speak to you all sometime in the week! night! x
Take care Lou, good luck
Good night, Lou. Good luck!
oh and i hope mr c and the doohickey get better soon ;)
I'm making some changes to my team, primarily taking Rubens out of all of them.
teams*
Why? I think he's still a good investment at this point.
He's a pretty good bet for some points
I dunno, just a gut feeling I guess.
One of those make-or-break decisions. Perhaps Scott feels Rubens' price and performance has peaked.
I'm not sure what it is, but I just feel I need to take him out for some reason.
Could be, there should be more competition in Europe I s'pose
I've decided some of my teams need a dose of Kubica. Maybe that diffuser might just give the BMW the kick up the backside it needs.
Kubica hasn't done anything for my team's position so far, but I'm not changing, I'm keeping Rubens too.
I was thinking the same thing last week... Maybe I should do that again.
Also considering if it's time to cash in on Rubens, and boot out Nico to get my hands on Webber-Raikkonen or Alonso-Trulli.
I had Nico in 1 or 2 of my teams, but based on his performances so far, it's all talk in the practice sessions and no trousers when it comes to qualifying and the race, so it was time to go.
Agreed. Dropped him now for Kubica. Webber-Raikkonen would be too unreliable. Alonso-Trulli was worth considering, but I'm still not sure how Renault's pace would hold up, and I'm not willing to give up a Brawn for that.
I dunno, I've kept Webber in the teams I had him in for Bahrain. His first lap today proved he can be racy when he needs to be. Just a shame he couldn't keep it up. He couldn't get past Piquet!
I would always bet on Kimi against Massa
Good luck
Actually on that note, he's coming out of Zero Downforce.
That's why I don't think it's worth dropping Rubens just to get my hands on him - he's too unreliable and/or unlucky for me to do it.
That proved to be the wrong decision for me in 2008, and so far, Massa has managed to get the team to come round him more than Kimi is trying to.
Dropped him for Kub and Sutil.
Should I kick Glock out of ZD as well?
2008 was a one off. Kimi will sort him out this season
Actually doing that, I have exactly enough to bring Rubens back in and keep 5 drivers :D
I think Glock will outscore Trulli this year, pitstop & tyres failed him today
Sutil's pace will prove to be more and more insufficient as the other teams move forward. Not worth it, I think.
Hmmm... Nah.
I wish that were true, but Massa has beat him on pace in most races this season. And he would've been up there with Kimi too, had his KERS not conked out.
If Kub does well in Spain, that's a real bargain price I picked him up for.
Hehe. Same here. And his price will go up while Nico's goes down.
OK, my interim teams for Spain:
DFKFM: Button, Heidfeld, Kubica, Vettel
Woodwiss Eng.: Button, Kubica, Vettel, Glock
Aviva: Sutil, Fisi, Button, Kubica, Vettel
Relentless: Sutil, Fisi, Button, Kubica, Glock
ZD: Sutil, Button, Kubica, Barrichello, Vettel
Are you not having at least one team with a really 'out there' line-up?
I'm liking Google's logo today.
Well I don't exactly want to fall further back in case it fails. Even if my chances of getting to the first couple of pages are all but done already.
Morse's birthday. Not bad!
But Button, Kubica, Vettel in 4 teams?
You should have a punt on one at least!
James Allen is still not over Lewis:
"If I were a betting man I’d slide down the bookies and put a few quid on Hamilton to win the title."
Meh, you right. I'll try and come up with something.
Erm... with them getting either a 30-point penalty or a 2-race ban, that's not the smartest thing to do right now...
I wonder if the FOM graphics can display negative points...
That's not the only thing he'd put on him ;)
Speculation
If they can display minus time gaps...
Anyone seen Transporter 3?
Just wondered if it was as great, I mean silly, as the first two
I don't think so - everyone's been saying they'll get either one of those 2 punishments. I was initially saying they may just get away with a fine, but it's not looking likely to be the case.
If I get everyone to say I'm a millionaire, it doesn't make me so
It may be true, but right now, it's still speculation
Given that it's people like James Allen mentioning it, I'd give them the benefit of the doubt - he has a good record on these things. More importantly, I wouldn't bet on Lewis until the hearing is done.
I'd agree with that even if the odds go down
New interim line-up for Relentless:
Button, Massa, Alonso, Buemi
I reckon they will get a severe warning and a Schumacher Jerez 97 style penalty. The whole thing looks orchestrated. Bernie and Max both saying good things about Lewis. Ryan fired, Ron moving out, Mercedes issuing threats, Whitmarsh sending a written apology. I can't imagine all of that is for any reason other than for a non-penalty to be issued.
Suspended sentence is my guess, with a verbal rap on the knuckles
I like this one... Why not go for Kubica over Buemi? This lineup is out there, anyway. ;)
Suspended race ban is a good bet, with or without a constructor points deduction.
Kubi's in most of the other teams, Button is a sure thing for the 1st third of the season
Didn't think of going for him 'cos I already had him in my others. But seeing as you've mentioned it, I'll give it a go. ;)
Night fellas
Good night Bassano.
See ya Bassano.
Morning everyone!
This is amazing - no one seems to have any idea who sang the "I Can See Clearly Now" cover!Bassano leaves, Sean arrives. Good morning!
Right, I'm going to make myself a bottle of drink and then I'm out for the night. Good morning, good afternoon, good evening and goodnight ;)
Good night, Sean. ;)
You mean Scott?
Night Scott.
Haha! Right. Night, Scott. :D
That's what I get for multitasking. haha!
