So, after my predictions of a fun-filled week, it was a quiet Monday to get us started. However, that just means there's all the more to enjoy today. Topics we're talking about at the moment, include:

  • The BBC's press conference, scheduled to discuss all things F1. We've already had plenty of information recently about what to expect from the coverage, plus an early look at the schedules. How much new information we'll get today remains to be seen, but no doubt it's going to be good.
  • The USF1 announcement is also scheduled for today, and once again, we don't know exactly what we're expecting from them. Most likely it will be a confirmation of their plans, and some optimism about what the future holds. All things that Formula 1 needs at the moment.
  • There's talk that there may be some Honda news as well, but as that has been put off so many times already, I refuse to be drawn into any more speculation just yet.
  • Finally, this picture has made it's way into the comments a couple of times now, but every time I see it, it makes me smile. If you've missed it, or just need an excuse for some cuteness, check out the upside down panda.

There's also a Sidepodchat for you to enjoy as well, which is over an hour of good discussion, so that should keep you busy for a bit. Meanwhile, I will see you in the comments.

Just checking out USF1's web page with the countdown thingy on it. My first check had the clock at 11 minutes to go until launch. Checked it sometime later and it had reset to 45 minutes to go until launch...Aaaah, gotta love them teething problems.

So wait - they're announcing it a 12 midnight? I thought it was 12 noon!

  • Journeyer24/02/2009 at 05:13

Ah, I see the problem now. The timer won't work anymore if you're not in the EST timezone, since it looks at your local clock. It will just reset to 1 hour remaining every top of the hour.

  • Journeyer24/02/2009 at 06:35

Actually, ignore my last sentence. It reset to 1 hour the first time it went to zero, but then it didn't repeat that the 2nd time it happened.

PW is very big on this.

That area of Carolina is actually very nice. If he offers you something, the Carolina BBQ alone would make it worth the interview trip.

Why on SpeedTV do they wear massive headphones and have microphones in front of them when they're sat about a metre away from each other?

  • Journeyer24/02/2009 at 09:23

Why on SpeedTV do they wear massive headphones and have microphones in front of them when they’re sat about a metre away from each other?

    1. To talk to their pitlane crew - it can be hard to hear them through the engine noise.

    2. To look cool!

  • Scott Woodwiss24/02/2009 at 09:39

Lee McKenzie has posted this on Twitter regarding the BBC F1 coverage:

"Every time an F1 car is on track, you will be able to watch it on the BBC whether it be through the Red Button or on BBC Sport website."

    YAY! :D

    ;)

live timing we already have. is there anything else exciting in there?

  • Scott Woodwiss24/02/2009 at 10:56

I still think there should be an option to turn off the commentary and just let the race sounds run without anything on top, like a "non-commentary" option.

  • Dank24/02/2009 at 10:58

live timing we already have. is there anything else exciting in there?

Well for me it is. As much as I love technology and the Internet, the prospect of watching a race and then getting distracted looking at live timings on a laptop etc never really appealed to me.

Having it on offer, next to the action on a large screen does.

  • Journeyer24/02/2009 at 10:58

agreed. also, one in car camera and an interactive forum isn’t much to get excited about.

    it says in-car cameraS.

and besides, what BBC will offer is already TONS better than what ITV ever showed. c'mon, cut them some slack. ;)

  • Journeyer24/02/2009 at 10:59

    No GP2? :-(

They'll have it, but this is an F1 article. They'll have the GP2 coverage too, I'd think. We'll find out what channel soon enough.

  • me24/02/2009 at 10:59

  • me24/02/2009 at 11:00

Having it on offer, next to the action on a large screen does.

fair enough. to me that's less customisation. i can't move it around on screen and i can't fit it beside live comments.

  • Journeyer24/02/2009 at 11:00

    “an in-car camera feed”

Most people are just interested in hacking the TV, I guess. Besides, the 5live feed is tricky, since it only restricts the feed at certain events.

  • Dank24/02/2009 at 11:09

Just Google it, there’s lots of material on how to watch from outside the UK.

And this is where I go against the grain: I don't agree that anyone outside the UK should have access to be able to view something which I have paid for - more so if that online service deteriorates as a result of too many people leeching off it.

I guess it depends how you see it. To me, the licence fee is a tax from the government, another way of extorting money from us. There's no way my £11 a month has any bearing on what the BBC get up to.

  • Maverick24/02/2009 at 11:19

On race day, viewers will be able to choose from three different video streams:

"the main network feed with a choice of commentary from BBC One and BBC Radio 5 Live; a split screen comprising the main network feed; an in-car camera feed and leaderboard; rolling highlights."

    Err... doesn't that equal 4?

  • me24/02/2009 at 11:21

It may go some way towards it. Personally, I don't see that it gives me ownership of the BBC. I completely understand why others do though.

  • RCC (aka Rockingcopsecorner)24/02/2009 at 11:25

For once i'm glad that something that I pay for will actually show me something i'm interested in. The BBC is an over inflated dinosaur, a relic of the 20th century. Begrudingly I pay my licence fee to recieve a 'tv signal' (TV licence people say you pay for the reciving of a tv 'signal'...not that I buy into that for one moment). They need to bin off these hundreds of other channels, stations, online content etc or provide a pay for what you use service. Why should i get fleeced to pay for BBC Wales (all in welsh), BBC Asian etc when I can't even speak the language they're broadcast in etc

  • me24/02/2009 at 11:27

I guess it’s the same as Premiere has: http://www.premiere.de/premweb/cms/de/programm_sport_sport1klasse_perspektiven.jsp

by the looks of it, that's 5 different screen options. in which case the bbc are underselling their pitch.

  • keith the marshal24/02/2009 at 11:27

The BBC has announced that it will broadcast all Formula One sessions - including free practice – both on television and online this year.

Confirming details of its plans for 2009, the return of F1 to the BBC is being used as an opportunity for the corporation to step up coverage of the sport.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the BBC said that the races and all qualifying sessions other than Brazil will be broadcast on BBC One. For Interlagos, BBC Two will show the fight for grid positions on the Saturday.

Practice sessions will be available via the 'red button' interactive service, or can be watched through the BBC's website.

The BBC has also promised to allow fans to customize their viewing experience – with the choice of three different video streams. There will also be options for split-screen action; a live leaderboard; in-car cameras and a choice of commentary

  • Maverick24/02/2009 at 11:29

    2) main + in car camera + leaderboard

Makes sense, I'm blaming a rogue semicolon...

  • Dank24/02/2009 at 11:29

Why should i get fleeced to pay for BBC Wales (all in welsh), BBC Asian etc when I can’t even speak the language they’re broadcast in etc

You answered that in your opening sentence:

For once i’m glad that something that I pay for will actually show me something i’m interested in

The Welsh and others are probably interested in those, much like you're interested in F1?

  • me24/02/2009 at 11:30

    :D

  • RCC (aka Rockingcopsecorner)24/02/2009 at 11:31

Anyway we can record the online practice sessions or red button coverage? Managed to get all the races/qualifying from last year but no practice sessions :-(

  • me24/02/2009 at 11:32

The Welsh and others are probably interested in those, much like you’re interested in F1?

    totally.

rcc the bbc isn't your own personal television channel!

next year, why not refuse to pay your licence fee and try making your own shows? see how far that £100 stretches.

  • RCC (aka Rockingcopsecorner)24/02/2009 at 11:37

next year, why not refuse to pay your licence fee and try making your own shows? see how far that £100 stretches.

Yr missing my point, I feel we're being over fleeced to pay for many additional channels when the BBC was original set up with a couple and a few radio stations, now it seems to of expanded into an all encompassing media provider for the wider world. Being British we naturally pay over the odds for everything but what i'm saying in this instance is we're paying for far too much. Of course there's no way on earth I could provide myself with entertainment for a £100 a year!! I'm not that stupid to think so.

  • me24/02/2009 at 11:41

if i live to be 100, i'll never be able to pay them what planet earth was worth to me, and that's just one programme. the f1 coverage could be more exciting, but i bet bernie is mostly to blame for that anyhow.

I'm not sure we have forgiven them yet, for messing up our schedule.

  • Gavin Brown (RubberGoat)24/02/2009 at 11:48

And this is where I go against the grain: I don’t agree that anyone outside the UK should have access to be able to view something which I have paid for - more so if that online service deteriorates as a result of too many people leeching off it.

Thank you for your point of view Mr. High-and-mighty. I suppose you've never downloaded an MP3 or movie either?

I'm not paying a licence fee as I don't live in the UK. If an online subscription to see F1 in English was available, I'd happily pay for it. Until then, I unfortunately have to watch F1 in Danish (bad) or with a crappy webstream. I pay a licence fee in Denmark so my money still goes to FOM.

  • me24/02/2009 at 11:48

I’m not sure we have forgiven them yet, for messing up our schedule.

    meh, it wasn't just that.

i mean in future we wouldn't ever work around them again, but i could've caught on iplayer in the meantime, but it all got a bit samey and i've not been bothered too.

  • me24/02/2009 at 11:49

  • RCC (aka Rockingcopsecorner)24/02/2009 at 11:50

i’ll never be able to pay them what planet earth was worth to me

Planet Earth on Blue Ray is incredible

See when the Beeb put their minds to it they make without doubt the very best factual programs. Horizon, Wildlife on 1 etc. Just less of the dross! ie celebrity dancing. The BBC could be a accused of dumbing it's programming down over recent years. Yes the licence fee in the scale of things is quite realitvely cheap but I dislike the way they we the paying public get told what we're paying and that's it, no compromises.

  • me24/02/2009 at 11:52

Just less of the dross! ie celebrity dancing.

the cheap stuff allows for more money to be allocated to the expensive stuff. it's either cheap stuff, repeats, or no expensive factual programs.

    can't have it all.

  • Gavin Brown (RubberGoat)24/02/2009 at 11:52

    Re: Licence fee.

It doesn't matter how many people outside the UK watch it because BBC will pay the same fee from the same pool of licence money. So they aren't losing out at all in my opinion.

  • me24/02/2009 at 11:53

  • Maverick24/02/2009 at 11:54

Whilst you're waiting for USF1, how about PortugalF1?

    http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/73404

Does Tony Teixeira feel like he's not getting enough attention at the moment?

  • Gavin Brown (RubberGoat)24/02/2009 at 11:55

dank has a point about bandwidth though. it’s not an infinite resource.

Yes he does. I would hate to think that I would be impinging on the bandwidth, but the only other option is to try and stream Radio 5 Live. I refuse to watch it in Danish, the coverage is absolute pants.

I'll just have to find a way to watch it delayed but it means I won't be here while the race is on :-(

  • Gavin Brown (RubberGoat)24/02/2009 at 11:55

You're right you can't, hence why there will always be a difference of opinion and people unhappy about what they're paying for.

Bandwidth is a touchy subject with BT at the moment isn't it? I've heard the BBC Iplayer is using up to 20% of the nations total bandwidth at times. BT think the BBC should pay for the extra cables needed etc and obviously the BBC think BT should pay.

  • Christine24/02/2009 at 11:59

Not until we can get engine sounds as a background.

Wow. Well done to you sir! I was being a little too cheeky, which I apologise for :-)

Have you lived abroad and not fully understood the language? I can speak Danish, but Sports TV is still too fast for me. Plus the coverage is not as good.

A lot of my friends go as far as paying for Sky TV from the UK - it can be done if you really want to. I must admit, I don't because a lot of the programs on Danish TV are actually in English, except for sports :-(

  • RCC (aka Rockingcopsecorner)24/02/2009 at 12:12

I pay for Sky and it's alright, it's not as amazing as they make out. There's adverts without fail every flaming 15 mins and usually only 5 mins into a program. Still I get Motor's TV which does have some great coverage on it of lesser publicised events, FIA GT, Britsh F3 etc..shame A1 GP is on sky sports.

Not bad. It's much better than upscaling the SD feed, but as the cars are doing 160mph it doesn't make that much difference during movement. Stationary is much better.

@Gavin I used to imagine the race while watching the live timing. I confused myself and others by trying to live comment at the same time. Sometimes I'd see things in the numbers that others missed but sometimes I'd miss critical things that only vision made relevent.

I'd then watch the race on my days off - Tuesday or Wednesday - having forgotten half of what happened

Autosport are saying that Honda are still confident about racing.

    http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/73408

A senior figure at the team said that despite Fukui's comments the situation was far from bleak, and in fact looked 'good'.

It is understood senior management made it clear from the start of negotiations that they only wanted to press ahead with an option that would safeguard as many jobs as possible at Brackley, and put the team in a position to fight for a top three spot in the world championship.

Nothing too new, a bit of confidence perhaps for us Honda fans.

Good point. Unlike in previous cases, there will be consequences for the rest of F1 if Honda doesn't make it and we go below 20 cars.

The sale of an F1 team always plays out like this doesn’t it? Just that some teams can keep it more secret than others…

Yep. Remember the attempted buyout of Prost by Walkinshaw in 2002 through Phoenix? And the attempted sale of Arrows by Walkinshaw that very same year? They were trying to sell it to Craig Pollock, who had just been ousted from BAR in favor of Richards. But Pollock said no, and the team collapsed.

  • Journeyer24/02/2009 at 13:44

    Gavin... sorry.

Many may ask, why start a new team when there is one waiting in the wings, hoping to be purchased sooner rather than later in order to save 750 jobs. If a buyer is not found in the coming days and a deal put in place, the doors at Honda Racing may be closed forever, but purchasing the Brackley based squad was never an option for them, for several reasons.

“Far too many people, far too expensive, too much debt, massively cancerous infrastructure, a team born for the completely wrong reasons, BAT pouring money out of the sky, it was completely the wrong philosophy. We are the other way, our philosophy is the smallest number of the best possible people. Honda’s seems to be the greatest number of maybe the best people they can get but they certainly have a massive numbers of people that we wouldn’t even contemplate.”

Honda takes more time. The positive decision from Tokyo that was expected on Monday still hasn't been taken. But there's no cancellation either. Apperantly Honda wants the new owner to improve their take-over bid a little more. Brawn sums up the situation: ''There are still good reasons to be optimistic.''

According to sources within the team Honda is doing everything for the team not to come to its end. Closing the factory doors is the most expensive solution for the Japanese, not to mention the very bad publicity it would generate for the company. Experts reckon that shutting the shop would cost Honda a three-digit million sum of money for compensations, the termination of contracts as well as amortisations.

The new car is race-ready. It's been modified to accomodate the Mercedes V8 (which apperantly was a less painstaking job than was feared). Allegedly the first payment for the supply of engines has been made. Brawn: ''We only need to get the green light for things to get started.'' The team hopes the take-over will be finalised before the middle of next week.

In that case the car would immediately be send to Barcelona so there would still be four days of testing before the season begins, trying to sort out the inevitable teething problems. As far as the new owner of the team: it's still a big secret. It's evident that a solution based on an external investor has been dropped. Therefore there's to be an internal solution.

Apart from Brawn, Ecclestone would also be playing a big role. The F1 Supremo has offered his help on several occasions. There's a lot of speculation about whether or not Richard Branson is now on board. There are as many confirmations as there are denials.

However, Fry is said to be out of the race. His departure is a strong indication that a man will come back that was already crossed off the list. David Richards is to be part of the new management group. Richards and Fry used to be companions in the past until Richards lost his job as teamboss at BAR in 2004. Fry succeeded him. And there were rumours that Fry was involved in Richards's disempowerment. Therefore the situation now is: either Richards or Fry.

“Every time an F1 car is on track, you will be able to watch it on the BBC whether it be through the Red Button or on BBC Sport website.”

Assuming the BBC have noticed that Free Practise 3 exists (which ITV never appeared to do), then I'm going to be really, really happy. Might be a problem with my parents getting me to go shopping with them on certain Saturday mornings though ;)

Don't think i explained what I was thinking earlier very well, I like the BBC and want the BBC to stay, I wish i could pay for the items I watch (ie geeky programs like Horizon etc) but obviously it's for the masses so it's 'balanced' all round with programming. Doesn't mean I have to like celebrity dancing though!

Random but if anybody saw the BBC Atom series it's re running soon! must watch

Is there a set of podcasts coming up soon on the technology of an F1 car?

I see the heated debate about people outside of UK trying to watch what viewers in the UK have to pay for.

I understand where the arguments are coming from but I would like to add my little bit:

    a) I do not live in UK

    b) I do like BBC shows

    c) I do have 4 different BBC channels on my cable

    d) I am paying for every single one of them monthly fee (we are charged channel by channel)

Hey, looks like I am also helping to fund the BBC F1 coverage but I still have to follow the 2009 season on Start Sports with Mr. Slater talking his stuff in the background :-)

LeeMcK The Chain is back as BBC F1 music! And after a race is finished there will be half an hour of coverage on BBC1 then 1 hour on red button!

    The Chain is back!

  • Alianora La Canta24/02/2009 at 15:39

    @Gavin I used to imagine the race while watching the live timing. {Comment #148}

This reminds me of Spa 2005 qualifying, when the TV took ages to warm up. By the start of qualifying, the vision was a bunch of monochrome slanted frames zipping from right to left quite quickly. There was no sound at all As a result, I ended up commentating on the first 15 minutes of the session (and trying to explain how come I knew Narain Karthikeyan's time was going to make him last on the grid when my dad couldn't even see if the track was dry...)

This wasn't a problem by Monza. The TV packed up in the interim and the new TV worked correctly.

BBC World, BBC Entertainment, BBC Knowledge and BBC Lifestyle. The last two come in a package and one of them shows Top Gear. I think these are all made for overseas markets and probably show programmes that are in the UK on regular BBC channels. But I may be wrong.

I think I do enjoy what I am paying for as I am still paying :-)

    When would the absolute final deadline be with the FIA for a team’s entry anyways? I’ve read a few dates ranging from March 5th to the final thursday before Melbourne… {Comment #168}

The team has to be fully registered by the Tuesday preceding the first race - in theory. This includes stating who will fill the race seats for the first race. It would not be necessary to provide financial proof of ability to race because it's an existing franchise that scored points in the previous season. However, the other particulars (such as the identities of key players and payment of the €300,000 annual entry fee) would be necessary.

In practise, if Honda's cars are allowed on the plane to Melbourne, then the paperwork could be filed while the cars are in transit because they'd have to leave the UK before the deadline for the paperwork. The form can be faxed, so the paperwork isn't the problem.

The 20-car situation won't change anything as the ballot could be carried out in Melbourne if necessary. All teams have enough spares to build a third car simply because of the spares they carry and they've all got at least one tester who will be there as a reserve driver and wouldn't mind the upgrade. Assuming the Superlicence thing doesn't explode.

The engine and the car is the most pressing difficulty - if they can be sorted, then the paperwork is bagatelle.

  • F1Wolf24/02/2009 at 15:47

Slater is definitely worse. That’s our focus here.

They've definitely got a provisional entry because the FIA published them on the entry list back in January with a special note saying that Honda had not formally withdrawn its entry despite announcing withdrawal from the sport.

However, it wasn't a full entry because the particulars (notably the name of the team and the drivers) were not provided. These details (and any others that are missing) must be provided to the FIA by the Tuesday before the first race for the provisional entry to be upgraded to a full one.

All joking aside about American single seater racers i'm really pleased we got a new team who's totally fresh, a la Red Bull, I'll cheer them on and I hope this proposed 'all access' for fans is as it says. I'm not sure where they'll find 2 American F1 stars so I think they may need an experienced European star to develop the car etc. Anthony Davidson this is your chance!!!!!!!!!! I know there's much talk of Danica Patrick possibly testing but I feel the IRL are not going to let their star attraction leave that easily.

Interesting, over on the SpeedTV website, for the Live Press Conference for USF1 there is a picutre of a 2008 McLsren, I wonder how they can do this without getting some sort of copyright issues unless they just completely bought out McLaren....

Nationalism is all good but replacing Hamilton with Scott Speed? Okay, a Danica for Koive swap might be an improvement....

  • Bassano Clapper24/02/2009 at 17:53

    1. They're American (I think)

    2. Yup, see you there

    3. Good news

    Evening all.

Sounds like I haven't missed much USF1 stuff?

  • Steven Roy24/02/2009 at 17:57

    They mentioned McLaren twice.

Mario Andretti and Dan Gurney did interviews and said USF1 was a fab idea.

Peter Windsor said the team would grow organically and naturally. So no plan. I never had him down as an old hippy.

The whole thing is going to be a reality TV show.

Logistics are not a problem because of Fedex, UPS etc.

  • Bassano Clapper24/02/2009 at 17:57

Sounds like I haven’t missed much USF1 stuff?

Who’s actually heard the entire song rather than just the outro?

    Me.

'Rumours' is an absolutely awesome album - and the story behind it is even better!

Much like the bus service here at times, their website says the conference is happening on the hour, every hour

Smells exactly the same. THe smell is ammonia that is used to slow the curing of the latex.

Quote from Mr Allen on viewing figures in the UK:

ITV was getting around 5-6 million viewers for the European time zone races last year as a benchmark, with a peak of 13m for the Brazilian GP.

So does that mean there are 12 million or 26 million people in the UK (According to the 51% market share quoted on Sidepodchat the other day)?

  • Bassano Clapper24/02/2009 at 19:18

Maybe they were discounting the number of people watching but listening to Five live & not Mr Allen's incessant warbling

  • Lukeh24/02/2009 at 19:19

So does that mean there are 12 million or 26 million people in the UK (According to the 51% market share quoted on Sidepodchat the other day)?

    Typo of 15% perhaps?

Like what was said in sidepodchat, 51% can't be the right statistic.

  • Steven Roy24/02/2009 at 19:19

So does that mean there are 12 million or 26 million people in the UK (According to the 51% market share quoted on Sidepodchat the other day)?

The figure was I think 51% of households which could mean one person in a household of 4 or 5 people.

  • Christine24/02/2009 at 19:20

So does that mean there are 12 million or 26 million people in the UK (According to the 51% market share quoted on Sidepodchat the other day)?

    The quote from the Paddock:

"Sadly for many of us here, there were no such footballing distractions for the British audience. With the football teams of all four nations having nothing else to do but lie on beaches around the Mediterranean, the TV audience had free reign to watch the Formula 1 action, and 51.5 percent chose to do exactly that."

It's 51% of TV-owning households, but it doesn't quote specifics regarding how long, whether that's over the course of the year, or what. Sorry.

  • Kathi24/02/2009 at 19:21

So does that mean there are 12 million or 26 million people in the UK (According to the 51% market share quoted on Sidepodchat the other day)?

But isn't the 51% just the market percentage (or however it is called in English). As in 51% of the people watching TV that night were watching the race

  • Bassano Clapper24/02/2009 at 19:22

...As in 51% of the people watching TV that night were watching the race

Potentially, if all in the house were watching at that time

  • RG24/02/2009 at 19:24

But isn’t the 51% just the market percentage (or however it is called in English). As in 51% of the people watching TV that night were watching the race

Now that seems the logical explanation, though surprised as it started same time as the Man City v Bolton game didn't it?

  • Kathi24/02/2009 at 19:25

Potentially, if all in the house were watching at that time

It doesn't count people just TVs.

  • Lukeh24/02/2009 at 19:26

Woo, champions league football is back! Worried about playing Inter with our makeshift defence at the moment...

Even as a Man Utd fan though i love Mourinho. Such an amusing personality.

It made me laugh earlier in the season with the FA cup where Steve Ryder was presenting the program and they handed over to Jim Rosenthal for the FA Cup draws. Just made me smile :)

  • RG24/02/2009 at 19:36

This Champions League, never heard of it ;)

no TVs, since there might be more than one TV in a household (watching different things). At least in Germany :)

Things I am taking from this press conference.

    - I risked skipping out on work for this?

    - It makes me nervous that they didn't get specific about who is investing in them and that they only have the money for 2009.

    - The American angle is getting a little much. Please, turn it down to eleven.

    - They are right about the materials, manpower, and all those costs are going down. I was talking to some people at Boeing and they said their one saving grace with the 787 is that the price of carbon fiber has just plummeted.

    - If this is such a brilliant concept, why haven't Windsor passed it along to his friends over at Williams? They seem like a team that could make this concept work.

All in all, nice to hear from Gurney and Andretti.

  • me24/02/2009 at 20:28

yup. we've now crossed over the hump from building the boring and invisible back-end bits. it's all new goodness in the run up to melbourne.

Nothing too new, a bit of confidence perhaps for us Honda fans.

Come on and get the effing deal sorted already!

just thought i'd step out of the shadows to comment on honda. first off i'm tired of deadline after deadline passing do they really have prospective buyers i doubt it, i think they're just beating a dead horse and as for bernie offering up money i'd sooner make a deal with the devil because you know the eventual outcome of that deal but a deal with bernie you never know what will happen next only that it won't end well and finally before i duck back into the shadows a message for nick fry or ross brawn last one out shut off the lights because your team is done like dinner. the grey man.

    Grow organicly and reality TV. Is he serious? {Comment #396}

Now there's a contradiction (or mutually exclusionist terminology, to get up Peter Windsor's nose)...

It felt to me like a cross between the Jordan and BAR team announcement launches; Jordan's "lean-mean" philosophy badly jarring with BAR's "America is the best". Since the two teams had completely different trajectories in F1, I would hesitate to suggest how USF1 would do on the basis of this announcement.

    Thirdly… Final hostipal visit for the next 3 months is done. :D YAY! {Comment #451}

    That's great news!
