Hello! Welcome to Thursday, that dreaded day of the week, and the day I, James, have the pleasure of writing the daily post. A random fact for you all; I was born on a Thursday and according to the popular nursery rhyme 'Monday's Child' those born on this day have far to go, where exactly is anyone’s guess.
I admit I have no idea what is going on in the world of Formula One and I don't really want to at the moment and this daily post will reflect that:
- Gizmodo posted a visual representation showing the number (approximately) of servers major tech companies own. Intel have an estimated 100,000 servers while Facebook, AT&T, and Time Warner Cable have in the region of 20,000 to 30,000. You may think this is a lot but Google are estimated to have over 1,000,000 servers, which is believed to account for more than 2% of the servers in the world! Microsoft, Yahoo, and Amazon are not represented so its not known how they shape up in comparison.
- A couple of days ago Facebook turned off the lite version of the social networking site. They haven't revealed the reason for why but have said that they have learned a lot from having a slimmed-down version of the site. I am a little disappointed at this because it removed all those annoying apps but then I didn't use it that much.
- If you find yourself with nothing to do this Thursday, and to try to involve F1 at least once: try finding a caption for this picture tag your comments with #caption so we can all enjoy!
That is it for my daily post, tomorrow’s post will be written by Lukeh which I'm sure will be fantastic. So I hope you all have good day and to steal Christine's line, I shall see you in the comments!.
Point 4;
Jon passed his ARDS today :D
Congrats Jon.
So, when is your first paid drive? LMS?
Do you go straight to National B when you pass your ARDS? When I had a licence it was a National C but there was no test then
I think I'll start low, maybe with some P1 races and then work my way into the lofty heights of the Clio Cup. don't want to go too fast too soon ;)
Yup, a nat C is probably equivalent to a current non-race national b which you need for speed events, requires no test
I guess they view the ARDS training and test as being the equivalent of the 6 signatures that you needed to upgrade before. When are you planning to race?
hehe, i approve of the non-f1 daily post :)
its epic
That sounds about right, to be honest the test wasn't that hard and its almost a little scary that after less than 10 laps of Thruxton i can now race on any uk circuit, its odd.
I'm going to hold off sending my application this year and use it for 2011 (really not worth £50 medical and £50 licence fee at the moment) but use this year and the resources around me to have a punt at something. The answer being, we'll see!
I'm hoping that one of the new single seater series would be
sillykind enough to let me review one of their cars as an addition to the Go Motorsport series, but we shall seeGo Jon! That's awesome. We need to fit you with helmet cam
seconded!
oh trust me, if I get a drive in something, you'll know.
The lovely people at goprocamera.com with their marvelous HD cameras of various sorts will definitely be getting a visit from me!
That's all? Mind you before you only had to pass the medical so at least you have some training. I did 4 days of race school and it is great value for money. Makes you a lot faster and a lot safer and you are not picking up the repair bills for your learning but it is expensive.
Nice thinking. The first time I went to a racing school for a 10 lap sampler there was a journalist there who wrote for one of the main Scottish papers. She was supposed to be getting the same as me but she kept asking questions and posing for her photographer so she ended up with three times as many laps and ten times as much time as the rest of us. And no doubt didn't pay a penny for it.
yay, who needs Mark Webber.
um, err, mark webbers wife?
i hear he has a donkey too
well
i say hear
i mean read
It's very odd, they strongly advise you to get some track experience before racing though, track days etc etc, just to give you confidence but my instructor asked if i was planning on taking it up competitively which i found amusing but encouraging,
I should have explained that a bit better.
I was thinking you could do the pre-gp track drive thingy
oooooh right, glad we're on the same page. i did wonder :D
Sounds like you did OK. Definitely worth getting some non-competitive track time just to settle into it. I twice did a full day test a couple of days before a race and the difference was incredible. If I had done my first race without the test day even though I had done the race school I would have been nowhere because all I would have done was 8-10 laps in practise. Mind you I may not have had as much confidence and not crashed as a result
Testing before the weekend is a must, pre season too. I got an offer to do Formula Ford this year and that included 6 pre-season tests because its all so important!
Whoa! I would love that
Me too, would be awesome. If you pay me £35,000 I will tell you what it's like :D
It takes a lot to learn a new track. It's fine for Lewis Hamilton with 20 years experience to turn up somewhere he has never seen and be right on it inside ten laps but when you have no experience it takes a lot longer. You also need somene with a lot of knowledge to run your car. You don't want to spend all day trying to find the right gear ratios and spring settings
That's less than I expected. I take it this is not a new car in the UK championship
It's an average team with a couple of 2 year old cars, but still quite reasonable for what is was. I think it was including pretty much all costs, even entry etc.
That's good value. It's also ideal because they have two year's data and know exactly what the car is capable of so you can measure yourself. Magicking up £35k is a different matter though
Exactly, you won't be winning or anything even close, but if you want learning experiences in a decent championship its great.
For easily under a 5th of the money you could do a season in Formula Vee with a top team and learn just as much. it's all about the championship status! UK Legends are pretty awesome too, i'd like a go in one of those
They are on my list to try. I imagine they must be very twitchy though being so short and having so much power
Yeahhh, racing looks immense though, and a sequential motorbike engine and box, alot of fun!
They race them at Knockhill and I know there is someone who not only runs a Legends experience but will let you hire one to race. Just too tempting
Wow, I would love to do that.
I am not sure how much Formula Vee gets raced here nowdays
ooh very much so.
at the autosport show a couple of years ago, i met a guy who hired them for a year for £250 and you got free entry into any oval round of their championship (there was about 30 rounds to choose from) and all you had to do was return the car in the standard that it was in when you got it.
awesome deal, we very nearly went to test one but it fell through but i cant remember why
Even here it's not very well known, it really should be though, it would be such a great step for a driver with less money to get some really good experience.
Problem is, if you're struggling for money going into cars, unless you're winning big championships straight away, it can be hard to keep up the money to go higher
I think the 750MC run a championship but it is just at club level. It never really took off here. It was big for a couple of seasons but like the others like Formula Talbot it just fizzled out
Returning it to standard could be really expensive and race car insurance is not only insane but generally only covers new parts but not labour.
true, though compared to a usual race deal it was mighty impressive
I have never seen Legends on an oval but there has to be some contact there. I dread to think how much it costs to hire a car these days. I paid a lot more than that to hire a Fromula Ford from the racing school I went to for a one day test and a race and that was 20 odd years ago. I think I was paying £200 insurance with £200 excess on top of the hire fee
Base rate for a supported day of FFord testing is around £1100-£1500 + test fee+ VAT . you'd get the car run, a set of used tyres and a set of new plus fuel etc
depends between teams of course
Again less than I was expecting. I think I was paying around £1000 for the weekend and no new tyres. New tyres would have been wasted on me anyway. Of course then FFord ran treaded tyres
haha old school ;)
this is proper motorsport!
i gotta sleep, night all
Night Jon
Hi folks,
Just dropping in for a second. For any Doctor Who fans, the new "Dalek Storm" was out in power in Sheffield for some BBC Radio thing.
I think this particular model should be on at some stage during the year.

my dad is wearing socks with sandals. He's such a tourist.
Parents always find a way to embarrass you. I think they get classes for that
I almost always wear socks with sandals. Don't want to punish people with my stinky feet!
RE: those 24,000 Time Warner Cable servers... about 100 of those are mine!
Hooray now I can legally drive here!
Morning ;)
Morning all.
Morning Christine, and morning everyone else. find myself with another big glass of orange juice to start the day. Some would say a good thing but this is because of my flippin' throat :(
Why are you drinking orange juice if you have a sore throat? Surely the acid will only serve to make it more irritated?
I love James' non-f1 daily, by the way :)
And that's why I can't get on Facebook Lite then. My use of facebook will be falling considerably from here on in.
Vitamin C, innit.
Awwww. Still, I guess at least it held off for you to finish your dissertation work.
Because orange juice is awesome.
....andbecausechristinesuggestedit
Please note: I am not a doctor. :)
I can't wait to go pick them up today! I'm definitely taking a photo of the copies, it feels like a huge milestone!
I can't wait to see it and I had nothing to do with it!!
('cept the James Bond bit)
Pretty silly call from Facebook eh?
Was tempted to ask if they did technology where you open the book and music plays, like a card. You could open the dissertation and the James Bond theme would play!
I don't see the point in closing it down, it had some things that didn't work but in general it was a far less cluttered and busy alternative to a laying lacking in proper thinking and just too cluttered. I would blog about it but I've already ranted about Facebook recently, a man has his limits :)
Very simply it's this:
Apps make Facebook money.
I read somewhere that Facebook take a cut of the money you invest in the PointlessVille apps and it's worth millions. Why bother supporting a way to view the site that diverts access from this revenue stream?
Also, have you considered FB for iPod? It's quite a nice app...
Question about Facebook:
How do I find out who interacts with my profile the most? Is there a site with stats and stuff?
Booooooooooooooooooo for facebook apps. Worst thing that ever happened to the site.
I use the ipod app because as you say it's very clean and efficent.
thanks :D
What do you guys think of Facebook turning your interests into "Connections"?
http://blog.facebook.com/blog.php?post=382978412130
It sounds interesting to me but BOL have just attacked it on lack of privacy grounds (nothing new there then)! I wonder how this could benefit us for example with a F1 or a teams network?
Deary me..
I am seriously considering closing my facebook now. I'm fed up of it progressively getting worse
How is it worse?
All I want is my profile to just say the basics. I don't need it linking off to every direction under the sun and filling up my profile page with links and 'connections'. Facebook seem insistent on making the site more complicated to use. sure it's a social networking site but do we really need to have our name associated with every single thing we link or are connected to?
I'll give you an example of how frustrating it can be to use now. When facebook first started up a friend of mine from school was perfectly fine with it, but now can't actually use the website because of how complex it has become regarding text and the general layout. I recommended Facebook Lite to her a few months ago and it helped tremendously and now obviously she's back to square one with another update coming to further complicate the use of even her profile, let along anything else.
Just for clarity the first time she used it was about 5 years ago, when I was finishing school.
Fair enough. I am sick of how complicated it has become, but I also think I have too many Facebook friends. Maybe it might be better if I was connected to people via my interests rather than be friends with people I don't know, have never met and yet like something I like?
I like to think I am quite savvy with web things, but I can't use it. Facebook just doesn't make sense to me.
I can understand why, it is a mess with no solution to clean it up. With my friend's case she has quite a serious case of dyslexia, it has a name for it but I can't remember what it is right now, but that goes onto my next point as to how inaccessible it is for special needs especially considering I've spent the last 5 months or so studying programs/computing and their accessibility
I am at a quandry. I have 300 friends, which is a potential 300 people whom I can share links and my blog posts with. But that isn't what Facebook is for, so why should I receive updates from people I don't even know? I keep missing important stuff from friends and family, even using lists and stuff...
(I don't mean anyone from here BTW...)
I am extremely thankful that I have never liked Facebook in the first place. Felt it was far too gimmicky and had too many frills.
Haha, I have such an awesome/wierd concidence for tomorrow's daily! I love how these things accidentally happen!
I've got Frills their multiplying... And I'm losing control...
Morning everyone :)
Changing the subject slightly, I have made Life in the Fast Lane it's own page with story summaries and a who's who.
http://smarterthanyouraverage.com/life-in-the-fast-lane/
Again!
Hi Alex.
Morning!
Hullo sir
Is it Muse's birthday?
It;s not Muse related! shock horror!
Webber just tweeted. I didn't realise he named his dog after a cat. :D
Woah!
*falls over*
Morning all
Hey pat
Morning :)
I'm so tired today I can hardly make myself move....
Eek!! Time to go pick up my dissertation!
Yay!
Also, you eeked like Lou :)
What a bunch of eekers we are :)
See you all later!
Finished? Awesome!!! :D
Hope it comes out well
#sorry
That's not what you should be sorry about! I can't watch the Masterchef last episode! I had to look up the winner or the internet!!! :( :( :(
Is it not on iPlayer?
I saw an episode while in London and I do like who won!
Over a week ago now. I had it downloaded but it refuses to play :(
Ah nuts, silly restrictions. It'll crop up on a replay some time
Yeah me too! :D
Although obviously I didn't see it in London. I wasn't allowed :( :(
Just bought a raffle ticket from the old lady who lives on the farm, quite a character.. her husband was one of the first employees of the company in the 1950s and she's lived in that house all her life..
I don't wanna sound all materialistic or anything... eh-hem... but what's the prize? :)
:)
"A Fabulous VW Polo 1.2E or £7000 cash"
I personally think the cash sounds more fabulous..
I don't think you can ever call that car 'fabulous' ;)
Not bad at all!
No, although it is a new one and it looks better than the old ones. Would still rather have a Golf :)
I suppose any car is a good car really. Sounds like a great prize either way ;)
You can always sell it!!
Pretty good for a Guide Dog raffle.
2nd prize is £1500, 3rd prize is £600, or you might get one of 20 luxury food hampers.
I'd imagine the chances of winning are fairly low, but better than the lottery..
Or just take the cash instead?
Sidepodpeople have been quite lucky in the past.
the times content has reappeared in google search. odd.
Oh it's a choice, I see. I thought you just had to take what you were given.....
Maybe they were just testing?
could be. i want june to be here now to see what happens.
only just seen this. i'm glad you approve Mr C :D
I just gave my dad Alex's book to read and he said he will read it and decide if he wants me to associate with "a nutter' :D
It doesn't say but I'd guess you have a choice

More travel stories from Mr Buxton: http://willthef1journo.wordpress.com/2010/04/22/getting-home/
"Tony Fernandes had been looking after, giving them tours of the Air Asia facilities, letting them try out the aircraft simulators (£15 million a pop), and who had organised a day of go karting and a massive party for the evening we ended up having to leave KL. They adore him, to a man. And it is easy to see why."
WOW!
Pandas! http://smarterthanyouraverage.com/2010/04/22/baby-panda-thursday-54/
it's all go at monaco: http://thevanquish.wordpress.com/2010/04/21/monaco-under-construction/
In complete opposite news I went past Albert Park today and they still haven't finished taking down the main straight grandstand.
Immediately thought: So soon? Then realised it's actually only a few weeks away.
Very simply it's this:
Apps make Facebook money.
I read somewhere that Facebook take a cut of the money you invest in the PointlessVille apps and it's worth millions. Why bother supporting a way to view the site that diverts access from this revenue stream? {Comment #64}
It wouldn't be so bad but the point when apps start getting seriously monetized is usually when they become completely unreliable on my computer. I haven't played FarmVille for months because of it (and I'm starting to worry that Bejeweled Blitz is going the same way - luckily I have a version of Bejeweled on my PDA...)
I like to think I am quite savvy with web things, but I can't use it. Facebook just doesn't make sense to me {Comment #74}
The daft thing is I can use Facebook... ...but that's because I quickly decided it was no use as a social networking program and focused on using it as a free gaming platform. I doubt this is what the makers intended.
Wow, great story. Very lucky he said yes!
Fernandes seems like a really good bloke
Its weird it being 1 or 2 weeks earlier than normal
Eeeeeeeeeeekkkk!!!
Heheh.
On the way home my friend commented how much I was eeking from looking at it... I think I have un-eeked myself from this. I just can't believe it!
Has anyone seen in f1 Racing what the Indian track is supposed to be like? Banked turns and gradient changes...
yesterday we were discussing transporting f1 cars. renault have their theirs back at enstone today and have pics too:
http://my.renaultf1.com/profiles/blogs/the-cars-touch-down-at-the
you can see how the cars are almost completely covered and then hidden inside sealed trucks.
really? is Tilke not involved?
It's his track! But if the diagram is to be believed it's gone some steep sections... which is odd for him. But we;ll see!
vettel blagged a lift on bernie's personal jet: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/83098
f1's new golden child then.
I want Joe's dinner
http://joesaward.wordpress.com/2010/04/22/the-battles-continue/
Wow! Definitely!
Bernie loves Vettel :D
we can only hope :D
Makes me think of the Archers
He is making a habit of bagging lifts from other people's private jets. Maybe he wants to become a friend of Bernie?
Oi!
Although fair enough.
I mean there are a lot of things to choose from but what reason does he specifically think I am a nutter?
more from joe on how he did made it home:
I am unreliably informed, flew in his Falcon 7X to Amsterdam on Sunday night. He then switched to a turbo-prop that was sent out to meet him and was back at Biggin Hill on Monday afternoon, beating everyone in the race to get home.
is it odd that there's a dictaphone on the table?
You can always rely on Bernie.
I remember watching some random interview with Bernie and Vettel. He obviously likes him a lot. Kind of like he obviously has a soft spot for Brundle....
I may have shown him the video of the bin + hummus
Oooh amy and other F1 fans down under, in this months F1 racing Murray Walker has a pretty honest article about australian F1 coverage. He ain't a fan, mirroring some of the complaints seen mentioned in the comments before
Thats a phone is it not?
ah...
Afternoon all
helllllo
:)
Hey leigh and Jon
So M is an interesting letter for Music... I created my shortlist for M (L the previous largest was 3.8 hours) M was 5.6 hours!
Loads of good stuff.
'ello everyone
just in for luncheon visit
anyone get today's autosport yet? nice little usf1 bit in it
I'm just reading the F1 Racing USF1 segment now, makes me kind of angry how pathetic the entire operation was.
although the picture of what they actually made is laughable.
ahh, face down?
http://joesaward.files.wordpress.com/2010/04/lunch-in-pierrefonds.jpg
zoom in too, looks like a flip phone to me
i just feel bad for the employees involved - i can see why hurley and bonner were so frustrated
Definitely. Although I agree with the quote in f1 Racing
"Incompetence? absolutely. Fraud? No. They were driven by desperation, not criminal intent"
Sadly desperation became a forefront over common sense.
Blimey! Two-parter?
nooo! that would be soo inconsistent.
Jake has blogged his trip home. It mentions a chocolate panda.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/jakehumphrey/2010/04/the_incredible_journey.html
oooh I shall keep my eyes peeled, I hope they actually put it in our edition!
He's got pics too.
See no.16, why is Heikki there?
Lee strikes me as a bit of a diva.. :)
Speaking of the guy who isn't Heikki, I want one of the jobs of these non-on-TV people. Going to every race with Jake but not being on TV sounds fantastic.
I agree completely. Can I do the live text updates on the website?
The problem is, you have to start as a runner or something, where all you do is fetch people coffee all day.
I am willing to fetch coffee if your license fee pays for me to go to Spain then Monaco to do so.
one of the girls there is the logger. that basically involves logging tapes all day. no experience required. boring as hell though.
You'll all be happy to hear that Nick has made it properly home and managed to sign on his new flat event free.
On a more alarming note, we think someone has stayed in his flat while he was away.....
I was wondering what the logger does. I figured the BBC doesn't take someone with them to chop down trees at races.
Ahhh, is it bad that I thought it was a typo of 'blogger'?
Well he did offer 5 live a place to stay...
you log when stuff happens on a tape. so on tape 1, at 15:02 alonso walked out of the motorhome an into the garage. you just have to know where everything is, when ted asks for it.
Hehe
I think it's really creepy though. Someone's left food in the fridge. Plus the ironing board is out. We all know Nick could never have done that.....
That is very odd though. Especially the ironing board.
ooh. Sounds precise. I like precise (apart from being on time to things)
Is he sure he hasn't walked into the neighbouring apartment?
And if you don't get it for Ted then all hell breaks loose and the ground opens up
#inhisownlittleworld
if you like the idea of traveling to china to scribble notes about tapes, i don't think many people will stand in your way.
:D :D :D
That is definitely more likely than him ironing anything!
that girl might not like me taking her job. The queen or whoever is in charge might not like me working for the BBC without the appropriate visa. Other than that, I think I'm good to go.
hehe. you may be living in the wrong country. this time next year, you'll be fine.
!!!
I had 400 pounds in my hand today! It was exciting. Your bank notes are weird.
Oh blimey lady, you don't want to be getting our currency early! The pound is busy sliding down a slippery slope to nowhere....
ahh its not for me, for my flatmate who is moving over there on Saturday :D
Ah that's okay. I thought your uber organisation had taken over the world for a second there....
Just to answer the questions from earlier before my meeting.. There is no way it's a two parter... This is the shortlist not the list for the radio show. Essentially my process is:
1) Create an empty playlist
2) Scroll through songs ordered by letter adding any possible songs to the playlist
3) Buy or source any songs that I don't have but want and add to the playlist
4) This creates the shortlist. I then tend to turn Scrobbler off so nobody can tell what's coming
5) Play the shortlist again and again deleting songs that I don't like or want
6) Hope that I whittle the shortlist down to something lower than 2 hours so I can fit in some talking.
In the early days of the show I was doing about 1.6 hours of music. 0.4 of talking. I went down to about 1.2 hours of music 0.8 of talking... And then last week I did 1.8 hours of music 0.8 of talking... hence the overrun!
Basically that shortlist number is interesting to me because it tells me how much choice there is.
On some letters I've ended up with a shortlist of an hour and had to really struggle to find more choice music. You always want to have more so you can whittle.`
not quite :D She works at a bank so she had sorted all her currency today since it was her last day. She also had some Swedish notes (today I learned that Sweden does not use the Euro) and some UAE ones that made me think of Nick.
hahaha at "the queen or whoever" :)
I'm not quite sure who it is that says 'oi! you! no!' in regards to immigration :D
The media
ooooooooooooooooooh.
That's our mean government. We're about to have an election though. If I were you, I'd try and get a visa before then ;)
now that I know my great-grandmother was from Liverpool I am totally claiming to be a scouser.
:D
Aren't you Welsh or something?
Lukeh will let you in
She can enter on my behalf, boyo
my grandad was born in Wales so at some stage mrs great-grandmother must have moved. The fact she was from Liverpool is a recent discovery, we assumed she was Welsh too. His birth there means I can get a 4 year visa instead of a 2 year one.
One of my uni friends got married to an American about a year ago. I was really shocked that she had to take a citizenship test thingy before she was given licence to stay here
I'd better not mention that we were mocking your highest mountain this afternoon.
my comment got eaten again :(
A lot of people in north wales have a scouse accent instead of welsh, there is a link betwee north wales and liverpool but I'm nto sure what/why
But that's all we have!
ooh, it was north wales that he came from. I am learning things!
It's really not far at all. I used to have to drive to Wales twice a week for uni....
It's a lovely mountain that you have
Dad made me google it to find out how tall it is, and we decided in NZ we would call that a hill. Our tallest peak is more than 3x higher! #livesonafaultline
Why thank you alex. We make sure people like our mountain. We also sell various mountain related souvenirs.
That's all well and good but our flag has a dragon! Beat that! :P
Did you have to draw the flag at school when you were a kid? I struggled enough to draw a few stars.
I have dragon love at the moment. I'm not sure that's a suitable pet though :(
Very handy for drying your hair or whatever
Also good for defending your arguments.
I went to see that dragon film and it made me so happy, nick bought me a dragon book :D
Ahh I see, very thorough :)
:D
An interesting analysis of Schumacher's troubles
(sub req) http://www.autosport.com/features/article.php/id/2764
"Thus, where previously he had used open-ended methods to force the car around his will, to 'come' to him, he is now required to 'go' to the car. That is patently an alien experience for him."
"Since retiring from F1 he raced motorcycles, suffering serious neck injuries in a crash. Thus he occasionally wears scarves, and on Thursday in China he was dressed so, fuelling rumours he was considering re-retirement in the near future."
w00t!
I was having a think about it and I'm underwhelmed. I want him to be racing as well as he can.. and then be beaten. That'd more satisfying for me..
Thing is, Mercedes seem to be bringing the car to him more with the Barca updates. We'll see how effective that is.
But ultimately, even with a car not suited to him in the past, Schumi made it work (think 1996 and 2005). Why isn't it happening now?
Codders! http://www.stuartcodling.com/2010/04/in-praise-of-michael-schumacher/
True. I think we all know this isn't Schumi at the peak of his powers. Not even close. I am tempted to think that his decision to un-retire was more emotional than logical, given my previous post on the subject.
Oh, and hi everyone! :D
Thank you, Alex! Have commented. :)
Aha, thanks :)
Looks like Mark Webber is enjoying his Modern Warfare 2 http://twitter.com/AussieGrit/statuses/12642246163
I wonder if he plays online... :D
vettel blagged a lift on bernie's personal jet: http://www.aut...s/report.php/id/83098
He is making a habit of bagging lifts from other people's private jets. Maybe he wants to become a friend of Bernie? {Comment #147}
What makes this even funnier is that I thought that was Schumi's lift, not Vettel's. So Sebastian appears to have perfected the art of seat-nicking as well...
Perhaps this seat-nicking a sign of years to come for young Seb if he ever switches teams. ;)
schumi has his own plane though.
Oooh just a note for anyone near any of these places on the 27th (not me) there's free Ben and Jerrys on offer. No catch.....
http://www.benjerry.co.uk/fairconeday/
The BNP have just given me a laugh. They've sent out a leaflet to my house on what appears to be a mass-mailing... ...but forgotten to nominate a candidate for my constituency!
Even if they persuaded anyone of their opinion there would be no way of registering that on the voting form. Oops.
schumi has his own plane though. {Comment #239}
He does. Maybe he suddenly remembered this after it was mentioned that he was flying home on Bernie Air. I don't remember it being capable of going to China non-stop but there must be a stopover somewhere that would accept a private flight.
Both Schumi and Vettel were in that plane according to German sites.
What makes this even funnier is that I thought that was Schumi's lift, not Vettel's. So Sebastian appears to have perfected the art of seat-nicking as well...
Both Schumi and Vettel were in that plane according to German sites. {Comment #243}
Ah, that would explain it :)
Denmark, Norway, Sweden, UK all use their own currency and it's a pain in the bum!
Plug: I've done a blog entry on Sepang's request for refurbishment money.
I've submitted tomorrow's daily Christine and Mr C, hopefully it's OK. Apologies if I've put too much in...
my record hasn't be broken then ;) :P
My stupidity reckon will be hard to beat. I submitted then realised I messed up my links.
#reeeeallllyysorrychristine :(
its the first one, its good to mess up now then it is later :D
Lukeh what was that lemmingsy game you were showing us the other day?
Tiptop - it's only 59p and very much good fun!
Hi all
Hey Steven
Proof that paper is less secure than a screen
http://scarbsf1.wordpress.com/2010/04/20/mclaren-telemetry-friday-fuel-weight/
already??
I feel as if I was quite late in sending mine in...
Hey folks.
I may have forgotten the #confidentialfrommrc tag in that comment
pah!
There has to be some bad karma from writing a daily this early. Don't these people understand sidepodcast traditions? ;)
it's like... only half the day has gone
:)
Exactly. What if something important happens at a minute to midnight
i guess we yell at lou, who yells at lukeh?
Looks like Max's senility is progressing fast. We never did favour Ferrari. Course not Max. There never was a veto on other teams' technology. No driver ever was penalised for aerodynamically blocking another. Mass dampers were never banned on entirely specious grounds. Michelin didn't have to re-design their tyres at zero notice. Schumacher never once got off scot free for punting people off the track. It's all a complete figment of our collective imagination.
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/83093
Poor Lou.
That's setting a dangerous precedent....
This looks like a fun idea. Shame there are no current F1 drivers incvolved. Motor racing needs to put on more events where people from different championships can race each other.
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/83097
Your just worried that Nick will do something wrong and people will shout at you. Did he make it home yet?
Wouldn't you be??? :P
He's absolutely fine. Landed 9am this morning.
what i time to come into the comments...
hello *waves*
problem with that theory Mr C is i don't really yell much..
afternoon :) I hope you don't mind, I borrowing your ability to eek in excitement for most of my afternoon
I also lost my ability to sense make.
*borrowed
Not my problem.
Glad he got back OK
ah that's alright, i eeeked for you as well. Hence why Em now knows too lol.
Hi Lou
considering you decided that everything was Nick's fault.... yes.. :)
How eekcellent. :)
Why all the eeking?
haha!
Afternoon all

:D
:D
Heheh :)
hello!
love this comment from joe:
No problems at all between Massa and Alonso. Massa seemed to accept that he left a gap and Alonso took it. No doubt folk will beat it up into a story, but Massa not bothered by what happened. Apart from being yelled at by his engineer!
rob yelled at him?!

i've just been informed that in out 'most likely to' section of our year book i am
'most likely to be arrested... for stalking Jenson Button.'
My friends know me so well lol
I see he is making it harder for you by moving to a little island
Despite the fact she's probably going to Guernsey on holiday ;)
hmmmm
#mightbegoingonholidaytoguernsey
#actualcoincidence
#notstalking
I'm having real problems downloading apps at the moment. I keep getting errors saying it timed out. My internet connection is definitetly fine though. Very annoying.
5live are driving to spa: http://twitter.com/5LiveF1/status/12651663501
I wonder if Jenson had 'Most like to stalk lou at Goodwood' in his, because he did last year!
yay! can we race them?...
i'm in an odd mood tonight.. sorry.
At the speeds they did this past week?!
ask.
even we can manage 71kph.
Hopefully :D
Obviously driving in a safe responsible manner, adhering to relevant speed limits.... :P
As yes, of course :)
You're only racing Ant...
I am sure a psychologist could make a lot out of someone using three hashtags
well... er... it will be fun?...
we can ask for a headstart?
Who is going to race Ant?
I might try restarting my stupid computer....
No speed limits in Europe.
#croftfact I am sure he said that
Ant will be too busy photographing absolutely everything.
i'll navigate for him...
Just did :D
heheh :D ooo maybe i can teach him!
You should offer to properly photograph their journey
Since when?
that isn't asking ;)
:D
YES!!
They replied though:
@bassanoclapper if you can catch us please do say hello!
oooh, fighting talk...
but didn't Jason buy a new camera during the off season?.. surely he'd wanna us that.
sounds like a challenge!
Only during races to Spa.
#specialdispensation honest
Errm, Lou:
Certainly will, we have an excellent pro-photographer-to be onboard who would gladly document your trip
Does he know how to properly use it?
doesn't lou's equipment count as success ballast?
hehehe! thank you, i'm not really a pro yet tho.
That's why I said "to be"
Woooo restart = winner!
oh i missed that. lol sorry :D
Don't stand in the woods in the dark making wild boar noises.
http://joesaward.wordpress.com/2010/04/22/the-battles-continue/
I'm too scared to ring work and see if I have to go tomorrow! I'm too tired :( I worked up to it before and no-one answered, surely that's enough effort!!
Do you have anyone's number who can check the schedule?
I doubt anyone at home would have a copy of my rota :P I'll ring back. I just really really am not up for going in tomorrow.
If they need you they will call.
You look ill. Lou probably infected you and she was ill enough to pull a sicky so you should be OK for one too
Since when did I look ill??
Do you want a sickie or not?
Steven's practically written you a note ;)
Just in the past couple of minutes
You just can't help some people
Hah the problem is it's my business, I'm responsible for it!!
Do you own it? Then its not your business
I can't stay at home when I'm supposed to be at work!!
So get on the phone and stop complaining
:)
:)
Sounds like you need the day off to me
I am starting to feel sorry for Nick. Never thought that would happen
Excuse me?
:o! *hugs Alison* :)
I phoned 3 times now :(
Phone them tomorrow and say if you're schduled on, you won't be in
And that you called 3 times yesterday
I can't stay off work byt I don't want to go but I can't stay off.........
Poor Nickk having to deal with that level of contradictaryness. I think I just ran out of vocabulary
Or phone them tomorrow and ask if you are supposed to be working Saturday. That way you look professional while skiving
f1 goes from zero potential tyre suppliers to three in same number of weeks: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/83101
"We wouldn't rule out a tyre war at this moment, but at this current time I don't think there is a huge appetite to spend large sums of money developing tyres to go faster"
Evening
UK schools have yearbooks now?
Hi Pat
Commented there but will say it here, well done sir :)
We all want to be American
#Irony
Doesn't everyone feel like that about going to work?
I saw the Pirelli story earlier. I can't believe all these tyre companies wanted to make low profile tyres and none of them went public on it
Hey Pat
That was my first thought too..
i love my job. so no.
Didn't you get the memo. We have spangly presidential debates now too....
Ooh, that's tonight isn't it
The only excuse to watch SkyOne
I drive quite quickly but I still may need a headstart..
Oh you said it first :D
I have no idea when it's on! I'm a conscientious objector!
Evening all!
Longtime no Sidepodcast-age.
You all good?
But tonight's is on a channel that a lot of the population don't have. Seems a bit odd.
Superheros do have good jobs
#convincedmrcisspiderman
No, its on Sky News HD. All HD for...the...erm....sweat?
#nothere
hey adie.
why?
yeah, our school has had them for about 25 years now (the older ones are hilarious to look at), it's like a tradition. we all get to design our page and then there are 'fun' sections littered throughout it. :)
woohoo! :)
We need Jon Waldock. He just passed his ARDS test so he must be nearly as fast as Ant
And Sky 3 which is in Freeview
i hope i don't feel like that when i'm a photographer..
In 23 mins
I don't know. You seem to really enjoy your job and I reckon spiderman really enjoys his job
:D
I see no point in watching the debates because I know what they all stand for. Anyone who changes their view based on a sith form debating society event shouldn't be allowed to vote
Hi Adie
Hi Adie
Helloooo! Enjoying your new found freedom (time wise?!)
that's as good a reason as any :)
That's why we have proms too I suppose
Yes
indeedy!
I won't be changing my view, I just want to see at least two of them make fools of themselves
I wonder if sith rather than sixth is Freudian
Yeah but those are good. From a sample of one. Perhaps it'll all go to pot later.
Excellent!
I know how much effort you guys put in. You deserve some downtime.
Anyhoo...what else is new in SPC land?
I used to but for the most part, I like my job now
Evening
One of them is a dark lord?
Ahh I see
Hey, my brother came up with a new points system and I have made this a reality :P
Check it out
http://alex-confessionsofacrazyperson.blogspot.com/2010/04/redirection.html
Thanks :)
They are all so scripted. I caught the three chancellors having a mini debate and they just ignored the questions and carried on with their script. I think they should have a rule that if a direct question is not answered their mic gets cut off and they get sent to the naughty step for 10 minutes.
THey are politicians. They all are
I think there's no point in watching the debates as we don't have a presidential system in this country..... If you want to watch a debate between your local politicians then be my guest.
Oh my. I love it!!!! Bernie, are you reading?
#stillnothere
I'm watching to find out what they stand for. Nobody else will tell me.
I know who I'm voting for but it is a tactical one.
:)
The order of the drivers in the new points is a bit off.
True enough
Interesting. Is it possible to reformat the table into theoretical championship order?
In the 1930s there was a European Championship for Grand Prix and it used that system, since I found that out I've been curious how modern F1 would look with it..
There was mention of it some while ago last year in a Dieter Rencken article but I have no recollection of which company it was.
I think they're also tempted by the commercial terms.
Shoot me down, but I love the look of the F1 cars on 18 inch rims....
Thank You for pointing that out.... I really should proof read! I had done the new standings from the old standings and that threw off the points when copied :p
I can see low profile tyres causing problems. First half the suspension movement of a car comes from ths sidewall flexing. Reduce the size of the sidewall and the cars get even stiffer. I would guess that although radials have near vertical sidewalls the sidewall still gives a degree of protection on contact with a barrier or another car. Lower profiles must increase the chance of wheels being damaged.
I think the argument from some of the tyre companies that F1 running lower profile tyres makes them more road relevant in complete nonsense.
cheaper though, right?
I doubt there will be any real difference. I know it is cheaper for Michelin because they plan to use the moulds they use for Le Mans LMP1 tyres. So the saving is on the capital equipment cost rather than the cost per tyre
ahh okay. was assuming they'd be lighter, use less rubber etc
But they look pretty!
Thing is, can Avon build a suitable tyre in the time they've got between now and the start of next season?
They will use less material all round but I imagine the cost of material is incidental to the cost of the tyre
Adam Boulton (Sp) in HD is NOT good.
Neither is Boredom Brown though to be fair.
Depends whether they are sole supplier or in a tyre war.
Tyre wars = variation = more excitement for us.
However, a development race like that doesn't fit with the 'cheaper' F1 future though...
It doesn't cost the teams anything so the cost thing may not be an issue. However a tyre war means consistently dropping lap times which always causes problems
Absolutely.
To be fair, the whole tyre rules as they are annoy me.
Forcing the teams to run both compounds in the race only serves to fit Bridgestone's agenda concerning PR and Marketing.
I say open the compounds up to a wider range of durability and give the drivers the opportunity to run 1/2 stop races if they like. The gains offered by soft tyres would be offset by the need to pit once or twice. Also, a driver could opt to run the full distance should they choose to do so and be in a position to manage their tyres to that effect.
THAT would add an element of variation to the races....
My argument has always been that Bridgestone should supply 4 compounds and the drivers should run whatever they like. If they want to make no stops or 99 stops so be it. It would mean every driver could have his ideal set up and at the end of every race the winning driver would be saying how great his tyres were rather than us watching people driving on tyres that are completely unsuitable
+1
Don't read this if you are creative, impulsive etc. There is now somewhere where you can design something and have it made by stereo lithography.
http://www.shapeways.com/
Right, ignore my last comment.
That's actually ment to be a text I'm sending someone. Overcommunicating between email, SPC and phone.
It's been a busy week!
Had me confused
You get the gist of the text. I have to friends trying to play me off against each other. = Annoyed Adie as I don't really care!!
Back to tyres, it'd be nice to see the rules relaxed somewhat in the future....
Why is there no answer at work? This is worrying!!
This weekend DC will make his DTM debut at Hockenheim.
And he'll be driving a yellow cab. Haha.
http://www.dtm.com/newsausgabe.php?id=9264
Wow! At least we'll be able to see him if the web feed is working..
A yellow and black livery with Deutsche Post instantly makes me think of Jordan!
It has fallen apart without you
Must be something to do with EJ
I found incriminating photos on facebook regarding what they were up to instead of being sat in the office near the phone. Lets just say it wasn't strictly work..... I have now got through though. Day off!! :D
heheheheh!!!!!
we'll remove that for you adie. classic.
Thank you sir! Appreciate that :D
What kind of moron puts photos like that on facebook
It was pretty funny!! I'm not mad. If I didn't have the day off tomorrow, it might be a different story....
WOAH!
Am about to close the polls, so if you haven't voted already: http://smarterthanyouraverage.com/2010/04/21/life-in-the-fast-lane-ii-part-1/
they accept uploads from 3d software. really woah.
Did you not read the do not read this notice. It was meant for you
i didn't realise Sutton had a blog?...
http://en.espnf1.com/f1/motorsport/story/15243.html
oh right.
*closes 3d software*
I didn't know you had posted another story
yeah. it used to be on itv-f1, he moved it.
It's lucky I remembered to plug it then!
I am so far behind the real world it's scary.
Hi guys. :)
So what's happening around here? I feel like I missed out on 2 weeks worth of Sidepodloving! :D
Helllllo Mr TM
and I am also finally here
OK voted
(hugs)
HAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIII! :D
*hugs back*
do you know what scares me?... i've just read his last blog and realised i've read it before... turns out i've read all from this year but forgot.... my memory is so bad it's worrying...
I swear this wireless connection could be better. 50ms pings to my VoIP server is not good..... 70ms pings to my race server isn't either!
6th form / college having that much of an effect on you? I won't tell you what uni's like then....
i think it's the effect of my history coursework tbh. uni will be better (if i go next year) cause it will be somethine i enjoy.
Uni makes you forget everything. I think, I can't remember if it does.
:D
One thing I learnt from university - year 1 is a transition year from 6th form / college to university. They will help you through it and guide you for deadlines and give guidance when you most need it. Year 2 is more of a do-it-yourself "we won't chase you if you don't attend lectures" attitude, but if you ask for help you will get it.
I don't know what happens with year 3. I didn't get that far......
Oh, and the main objective of year 1, apart from making lots of new friends and going out on a regular basis: year 1 gets you to year 2.
Your year 2 was my year 1, but I didn't know about the asking.. or what I was doing.. at all..
Fresher reps helped. NTU has the best reputation for fresher's week (fortnight now).
the idea of freshers week scares me...
Honestly Lou, it's the best icebreaker in the world. Everybody else is in the same position. It's hard not to meet like-minded people! Just balance the work and the play and you'll get along fine!
Passed me by... I had no idea where to go or what to do so I just turned up for lectures until drinking and sleeping were more interesting. :) Turns out I wasn't that interested in computers.
:D :D
freshers week (from what i've heard) = lots of people getting drunk and lots of parties with people i don't really know...
i'm not great with big groups of people at the best of times....
Took me 3 years and 2 attempts (6 months with a fudged bodyclock thanks to that wonderful pastime of F1) to realise I was rather inept at programming and 3D modelling. On the plus side, learnt a bit about plumbing models in UT3 and creating them in 3DSMax.
I managed to meet new friends and fellow people on the course without going to parties and getting drunk so you don't need to do that to have a good time and introduce yourself
There is drinking, there are parties, but if your university is reputable they will be organised and at a vouched-for venue.
Find somebody like-minded and stick with them. Worked for me. :)
You'll be absolutely fine! You'll meet like minded people whatever your mind :P
I was in halls and we were given lots of vouchers for cheap nights out in tacky clubs, which had lots of discounts for not very nice alcohol... which we consumed a lot of...
Neither am I, which is why I tagged along with things I didn't like and wasn't confident enough to go to places I wanted to go..
tis one of the reasons i wanted to go to falmouth (other than loving it way too much).. you get to know everyone, there aren't many parties and it's quiet... = my kind of place.
Once you sort out a uni and a course just mention it here and you can bet a couple of lurkers will be in exactly the same course
i have no desire to step foot in a night club really.. the idea of them actually does scare me. I'm alright going to places i like to go to on my own, but i'm hoping where ever i end up they'll be at least one person a bit like me... or who likes me.. either way.
hehehe okay.
@ the Lurkers, I'm counting on you! :)
Just go to more society events and stuff. They tend to be more chatty rather than loud music.
Stop self-doubting yourself, of course there will be!!!
I had a flat of 4 girls, 2 guys, me included. We all got along well, made friends with other flats, and see each other on an infrequent basis now some of us have moved away.
Honestly, being dropped in the deep end helped me socialise. I had a big problem with going out and meeting new people. This forced me to meet people, and I met like-minded people, even if all the girls were doing psychology or law, and the guys business studies.
You'll definitely find people like you so don't worry. It is daunting going into uni, most people feel the same way, but you'll be fine. There's no need for you to do things that you don't want to do like nightclubs or whatever, but there's so much more to student life than that cliche.
Evening all. I've had quite a good Thursday.
Right guys...I'm off.
See you later.
Nice to chat again!
Bye Adie
i like that idea :)
You don't have to go to them. The dance music thing was quite big at the time and the stuff I liked really wasn't..
see ya!
That looks like I meant something I didn't mean..
I mean you don't have to go anywhere if you have somewhere better to go, even if that somewhere is staying in.
Evening all,
There are people like you! I'm really not a club person, much rather a pint with some friends in a pub, you should try it when you go, but you dont have to become an alcoholic :)
I never thought of Lou as a pint drinker but you are right she should try it
howdy sir
hahaha i had a pint once.. i didn't really like it. lol
You usually don't like the first one or two. After that it becomes less unpleasant :)
Bye Adie and hi Andy
aha never thought of it like that. i cant imagine her being a pint drinker either.
you'll find everyone in your flat goes out on the first night and you should too, but stake your ground, just because everyone else does something you dont have too, in fact alot of people are quite reserved on the first night because they dont want people to think of them as alcoholics!
:D
I agree!
And it may have been the wrong pint.
pints of cider are better!
Or Absinthe.
Agreed
In moderation
#amazini
You need to try a few different beers. Eventually you will find one you like
hahaha!
I wanted to type in someones name on facebook but wrote 'alcohol' without realising
#alcoholonthebrain
:D
You can't have her out drinking on her first night at uni drinking that stuff
Oh gawd.
If you ever get to Nottingham, go to Cucamaras. Best shots in town!
Hahah!
:D :D :D
I got some seriously weird looks when everybody else was drinking lager and I was drinking Guinness. They looked at me like I was alien or something.
Must be the ales I enjoy on an infrequent basis. I have a story I may tell in voicemail form. :D
Lou,
Have you seen the flickr account that Christine mentioned on Baby Panda Thursday?
http://www.flickr.com/photos/nathaninsandiego/
I was joking guys - enjoy alcohol responsibly. Don't try and drink a whole pint of Absinthe.
Get on the phone now
Guiness is good for you, can replace a whole meal as well.
When you're a student you're expected to drink watered-down Fosters.
yep :) i (heart) this photo - http://www.flickr.com/photos/nathaninsandiego/4542749908/
Or Carling, whichever was cheaper...... :P
The student bar where I went once served Heinekin from every lager pump because the manager got a bulk deal. Whatever lager you asked for it came out Heinekin - it really did manage to reach the parts other beers cannot reach.
Steven, you'd like this pic - http://www.flickr.com/photos/nathaninsandiego/4516520492/
Alison!!! - http://www.flickr.com/photos/nathaninsandiego/4516523608/
Nice. I have only looked at the front page so far and love the snow leopard pics.
#notanApplead
I thought they had a photo of Nick
Exactly.. Which at the time you accept on the basis of 'whatever gets the job done'..
:)
As a first drink, yes possibly. But for further consumption, noooooo waaaaaaaiiiiii!
#naive19y.o.
(I was)
Lou, apparently Heston Bultomantentfoodman is on Never Mind the Buzzcocks
#stupid21yroldsoontobealittlewiser22yrold
omg!!! yaaaayyyy!! i shall iplayer it, thank you! :D
I know I'm thread-jumping (yay for Doohickey) but the voicemails have been the best feature about the race debriefs. Even with the breaks between races (3 weeks between China and Barcelona? I reckon Bernie pre-planned the volcano eruption..... :D) I think a "what were the first 4 races like" podcast/debrief/discussion/forum would be a great idea.
Conference call this weekend anybody? :)
Insane car video: http://jalopnik.com/5520353/this-has-got-to-be-the-most-difficult-to-drive-car-ever
Goodwood FTW!
Eeeeeeek goodwood!!
Looks like he nearly hit the landy!
I love the sound of the turbo wate gate chirping
That's a 4 cylinder modern turbo-charged engine hitting around 1000 horsepower.
I WANT F1 1986 BACK!!!!!
That was nuts. Watch Adelaide and tell me you're not on tenterhooks.
Wheelspin in 4th?! Yes please! :D
Me too. Imagine Valencia with 1500bhp hand grenade engine and super soft quali tyres. That would liven it up a bit.
Or imagine Singapore at night with flames shooting out of the exhausts, sparks flying from the skid blocks and no stupid plank
IDEA!!!!!
For the really boring processional races (Bahrain, Valencia, Barcelona, add your least-favourite circuit[s] here) F1 cars should be totally changed, separate rules for them. Turbos for half the races, N/As for the rest.
Time for sleepies for me. Hope the links work in my daily because I had to correct them so many times due to my lack of ability to do anything involving computing despite what my CV will say in a few weeks hopefully
Anyways, g'night folks.
Good night leavers
night Lukeh! :)
night chap
nighty night mate.
Ditto!
I'm having a sensible evening and going to bed.
God I love Sidepodcast. :D
Night guys, night leavers!
bye TM
Quick reminder for any game entries this week..

plus I updated the sidebar for coming events
although I forgot to say the MotoGP is cancelled
There is the TwitGP though
http://twitter.com/twitgp
Night! Will send voicemail tomorrow evening when I've worked out what to say. It's about this weekend gone. :)
#notreallyhere
Yup, it really is good to be back....
*skulks off to bed*
Phew. The internet is resurrected!!!
I have an F1 question:
Who is it that says how many F1GPs there are each year, and where they are at? Is it the FIA, or Bernie's mob? Also, who is it that says at which track a GP is held?
that's four.
who killed it
Bernie has a mob??
Maybe its just 1 answer?
I don't know but it's been disconnected long enough for me to watch 3 episodes of the West Wing!!!
ahh right. the fia have to agree to it. bernie i believe specifies it.
Is it Easter?
Well I realised I don't know.
Bernie
Ok, and an FIA rubber stamp?
There will be something in the commercial rights contract covering it
This has to be the most disturbing thing I've ever seen..
http://twitpic.com/1hlnox
Oh, so he has more actual power than I thought.
Hmmmm. OK.That's disturbing
He has a free hand as far as I can see. That is why he got Max elected and why he paid him so much that Max had the sudden urge to move to Monaco. Allegedly your honour
I was quite annoyed when I heard his interview with Jake last Sunday. he man is either going senile, extremely arrogant, or has absolutely no respect for the people in the sport(fans) who make him his money.
Bernie never means what he says but I don't think he gives a damn about anyone who doesn't have their face on a high denomination dollar bill
:)
Except cutie Sebastian :P
ooh true. but he's set to make bernie a fortune by being schumi II
He says that now. He will say Schumacher, Lewis, Alonso etc when it gets him the most coverage or depending on which market he is talking to
I think its disgusting. I don't know how other people in F1 can stand him. Even Norbert Haug has enough respect for the media to sit down and give a long interview about his team. Grrrrrrr.
what did he say that bugged ya?
Pretty much everything since 1982 for me
:D
Look, I know this has probably been all done before. His attitude in the interview just really struck me. He could not give a ???? about anyone. He just wanted to blow Jake off. This (the BBC) is his voice to the world.
No no, he's never liked Lewis or Alonso. He really likes Sebastian.
it doesn't make it right, but he's always been that way.
husband material maybe?
for his daughter, clearly.
When you get to that age, you do what you like!!
There was a huge contrast in the way Christian Horner and Norbert Haug acted. It's not easy for them to answer questions right after tehy have lost a GP.
for Bernie? i think he's avaliable....
Bernie apparently made Max a gratis payment of $300 million as a one off payment around 5 years ago just before Max started getting bolshy. The story first appeared on grandprix.com but is no longer there. THe last time I searched for it the only hit I got was me quoting the item elsewhere on Clive's blog.
So Max sold Bernie 100 years of commercial rights for $300 million and pocketed a similar amount himself and then had to move to Monaco.
Allegedly
Hehehe he's still seeing his highschool sweetheart. Although I guess he's not that long out of school....
#allegedly
Bernie has a girlfriend.... she looks like she's in her 20s but i suppose she counts as a girlfriend...
He has tipped both of them to win races and championships in the past when it suited him.
I'm sure she's disposable!
it's sad... but probably true.
Yeah, ok, which kind of answers my original question. I have just had a lot of thoughts bouncing around in my mind about the sport.
Never mind....nothing to see here.
Yeah but there's no banter. You don't see him joking around with them. I will hunt for the video I'm thinking about although I am useless....
If Bernie said good morning to me I would check my watch. You can never believe anything he says or does
Mr C... can you release the new daily early so i can find out what lukeh's been going on about today and go to bed please? :P
I refuse to believe he doesn't have a soft spot for Martin Brundle. We already proved it has nothing to do with looking good on tv....
Your messing with forces you don't understand
bless ya :)
EARLY? I think that might set of a catastrophic chain reaction....
i'll take that as a no.. lol he wouldn't tell me.. and i've had to wait allllllll day. it's only 7 minutes, christine wouldn't notice ;)
hahaha! isn't sidepodtime flexible?..
:D i'm willing to risk it.. i'm very tired. lol
it doesn't do early.
oh, okay then. :D
SHe would if she wakes up to find the world has imploded because people have been messing with sidepodtime. That could ruin her morning
I'm sorry... I just have to..
rofl.....
Only a couple more minutes now Lou :-)
been a while since we saw a rolfcopter. must be the ashcloud.
ahhh i can't imagine that would upset her...
it's not going to be worth the wait now is it?.
#sorrylukeh?
I think it will.
Also... Lukeh lied to me, he said Heston was on Never Mind the Buzzcocks.. i went onto the iplayer and he wasn't... bad times :(
hehehe! if he had told me earlier.. i could be asleep by now ;)
why would he make that up?
No idea but I watched it and there was no Heston
i don't know! :( he said
'Lou, apparently Heston Bultomantentfoodman is on Never Mind the Buzzcocks'
but he wasnt... James Cordon was though, so i'm wondering if he was actually watching it or not..
