Jim: Goooooooooooooood morning, afternoon or evening wherever you are, you are listening to Radio DailyPost, your only place to listen for everything that happens on today, Monday 21st February 2011.
[Cue jazzy little intro music - dun dun de la dun, that works]
Jim: Of course our big story is coming from Bahrain, and our correspondent in the Middle East is as ever Allan MacKay. Allan, what is the latest regarding the Grand Prix?
Allan: [On crackly telephone] Well, Jim. All I can say right now is it is looking unlikely as if a race will be held in Bahrain in 2011. The likes of Mark Webber have spoken against it, and a decision on the test will be made today.
Jim: What is the situation like?
Allan: Well Jim, it is chaos. The protesters are going to target the race, and that puts the Crown Prince on the back foot, and at the moment it looks like he wants the race over his people.
Jim: Allan, as ever, thank you, we will bring you more as we get it.
Allan: Any time Jim.
Jim: Now Danielle Lawrence with the rest of the main news.
Danielle: Thank you Jim. Nico Rosberg has come out on top of the third day of testing at Barcelona. He was quicker than both Vitaly Petrov and Lewis Hamilton who were second and third respectively. Giorgio Mondini, who drove the Hispania today, was notably two seconds quicker than Narain Karthikeyan. Mondini is seemingly in battle with Vitantonio Luizzi regarding the last Hispania seat. Jarno Trulli has also spoken out that he is happy with the Team Lotus car. And that is all in F1 today, Jim.
Jim: Cheers Danielle, so, did you watch the NASCAR last night?
Danielle: As a matter of fact I did, a bit of a let down really. But great result.
Jim: It was indeed, and to talk about it we have our Other Motorsports correspondent Larry Stanley, Larry, how do you describe Daytona right now?
Larry: Pretty dead man.
Jim: Well, not now, but the general buzz at the finish.
Larry: Oh, everyone was on the moon man, it was wheel to wheel racing, big crashes, big moves, big names fall and a big new star.
Jim: Lets talk more about him, did you catch up to him after the race?
Larry: No we did not.
Jim: Uhm. Did you talk to anyone?
Larry: Nope.
Jim: Ehh, thank you Larry for some, insightful information, about this years Daytona 500. Now in the Studio we have our good friends who talks and parties with the comments, Jesse Syme, Jesse, hello again.
Jesse: Oh thank you, you look great.
Jim: Yes, the radio can see that can't they. So what's big in the comments today?
Jesse: Jim, its been massive, the phones have just not stopped ringing because theres a little child on our way courtesy of the lovable Alex and Kat. It is just great news.
Jim: Wonderful.
Jesse: Oh yes, we've seen the big names come out and congratulate them, its been an overwhelming reception. Everyone is happy for them. And that is really it for today.
Jim: Good stuff Jesse, more next week from that guy. Now we head to our Other Sport correspondent Massimo Mazzi.
Massimo: OK. FA Cup week, Crawley lost, Leyton Orient drew, Notts County lost. Cricket World Cup start, who cares about this, I mean come on. Eh anyway, Kenya and Canada were no contest. In Italy land of the greats, Ranieri sacked. Sport for you.
Jim: Thank you Massimo, nice to see your enthusiasm is still there.
Massimo: My enthusiasm does not need to be shown on radio.
Jim: Well it does help for better radio.
Massimo: I think you are talking...
Jim: Massimo there, now time for travel with Anna Olsen...
Hi Monday
Great news from Kat and Alex. :)
hehe!
♥ rg's daily posts xx
Thanks for the heads up on the really important news :D
Very much so. Have greeted them in the post.
Anyway, have the manflu today. :( It seems other folks in the comments have them too?
f1 wolf's just recovering. christine had the worst man flu ever.
i read fivestar also had the manflu...
and apparently, 6 other people in the office have gotten the manflu in the past week. what on earth is going on??
lord knows. we had the worst start to the year imaginable. wouldn't wish it on anyone, hope you recover soon chap.
It has always been disheartening when good movies flop; it gives endless comfort to those who would rather not have to try to make them and can happily take cover behind a shield labeled "The people have spoken." But it's really bad news when the industry essentially rejects a success, when a movie that should have spawned two dozen taste-based gambles on passion projects is instead greeted as an unanswerable anomaly.
http://www.gq.com/entertainment/movies-and-tv/201102/the-day-the-movies-died-mark-harris
thanks Mr C. :) skipping work today to go to the doctor and recuperate.
Oh not another ill one - get well soon
Interesting article. How can they not accept the success of Inception? Crazy. And it really has turned into sequel-syndrome, that list is incredible.
I need to go to bed, night.
night chap.
Night Pat
Thank goodness for the British film industry then. I really enjoyed Kings Speech and Black Swan
Black Swan is Fox Searchlight, which I'm pretty sure is Hollywood (as is True Grit)
oops :) I liked Kings Speech better
I haven't seen either True Grit or Black Swan so I can't comment on whether they're better or worse, but Kings Speech was great.
Thanks for the mention in the daily RG. And thanks for all the lovely comments.
And to Journeyer's question - it's a different Alison than the one you're thinking of.
AHA. That explains it. It doesn't help that Nick's comment was right before hers! :P

morning
According to Sarah Holt: "The team have nicknamed D'Ambrosio Custard"
http://twitter.com/#!/sarahholtf1/status/39624648534532096
he he :)
let's hope his on track performance is more solid
;)
Loving the daily snippet in the corner of the homepage RG, and the daily post as a whole. Now if only you could slide some Alan Green bias into it.... :D
Virgin have or the BBC have? Cos the Virgin tweeter was a proper spoilsport last time he talked about custard.
I dreamt about factbyte factboxing last night, so I feel like I've been doing it for 12 hours now instead of just five. :)
The fans at the Virgin event were all over the nickname so I'm guessing it came from them?
If you can't beat em, join em, I guess.
I am so tired and my joints/muscles hurt a bit. Worth it though as I feel some semblance of fitness for the first time in ages. #blamegolf
How did you get on?
I was thinking the other day that I felt like a round of golf.
I only lost one ball! Score-wise I was seven shots over my usual for this course (which is usually more than I get at other courses anyway). That's amazing for not playing for so long. Thinking of blogging this year's golf exploits among other things.
blogging about fitness is a great idea ;)
plug
Sounds good.
Hehe, yay!
now with 100% more graphs.
Why did no one tell me that gadgets and charts make running fun?
I thought if you're all doing it so can i :)

I'll be back cycling when I get a new bike....
Er... ...I'm practising for a swimming gala, though since I'm not planning on blogging on the path to it, it probably doesn't count ;)
You don't look like one...
:D
woooohh
...........
:)
Hehehe.
Attempting the second part of my blog series on Bahrain and deeply regretting not doing anything yesterday - if I finish this after a decision is made on the race's fate, some of this entry may make no sense :(
If you do it for Sebring it really will be 12 hours. Probably don't want to do that. :)
I can't imagine a decision being made prior to the end of testing
The end of testing is in 5 hours and I think I'm going to be sent to Grandma's to help feed her before then...
Team bosses are due to have another meeting this evening I believe. I can't see a decision from the FIA / Bernie today, especially after Bernie said Tuesday. Nothing has really changed in the last few days.
FOTA have said they were deciding the fate of the test tonight due to logistics and it's tied to the race's fate.
When's the last time you played?
You know it's bad when Lotus send out their end-of-day test report already.
erm, about 1998 and I only did the putting, my dad did the rest. I also gave up on the 15th hole :D
Reads like Jarno may have smashed it up pretty bad.
I like this though
oh dear
Not his fault though.
Unfortunately the day was cut short due to the accident Jarno suffered this morning at turn 9. It was not his fault - it was caused by a car failure and we were missing a part we needed to put the car back together which meant we had to cut day four short.
Joe goes NASCAR on us

Hehe :D
They're minus an essential part.
I'm good at golf on the xbox though, and I work next door to a golf shop. I'm pretty much there :D
Regardless, it was still a crash
True.
All the supplies to hand then.
I'm useless at golf on the Wii.
I'm somewhat-worse-than-average on Fuzzy's Minature Space Golf on PC - does that count?
Ping: http://mrschristine.com/2011/02/21/there-will-be-a-penpaper-replacement-eventually/
I wonder if the teams would agree to moving it alongside AD, putting aside all other concerns (if we assume it is all ok by then), it would be key to the championship..
that'd be 5 flyaways in 6 weeks though....
Hehehe: chaps on Live are reluctant to post my updates on the snazziness of the medical helicopter, so see for yourselves http://yfrog.com/h7uiocsj

Exactly, I think they'd rather remove it.

5 Live reporting that the Bahrain test is cancelled.
That came out totally wrong - please ignore the previous tweet:
5 Live reporting that the Bahrain test appears to be cancelled. Quite apart from the BBQuote blunder, there's a big difference between "is" and "seems to be"...
Sky Sports reporting it too.
SkySportsLive: Formula 1 teams agree not to go to Bahrain for for test session starting on March 3rd
So the only question probably left is - will the GP be postponed or cancelled?
Unknown. FOTA's message made it sound like the two were tied together but neither the FIA nor the circuit has spoken on the matter.
5LiveF1: For those asking the source is a good one, but not confirming anything until I hear it from another source. FOTA decide on test venues from FIA list of venues.
small man, big man: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=8196188&l=d764bc4b76&id=292309963464
RT @5LiveF1: @F1grid hang on I said it "seems" no confirmation yet...
Oops. That's the difficulty of being a BBC account, I guess - tweet something and everyone will take it as gospel...
Especially when some fool not far from this keyboard accidentally misquotes it!
Where are GMM when you need them?
Surprisingly, not as prevalent as I thought they'd be. In any case,
5LiveF1: Teams are meeting at 4pm UK time to discuss the test situation, my understanding it is to discuss where it will now take place
So probably no news for another 2-3 hours then. They won't make an official statement until they've decided on that.
Who needs GMM when you've got me? :(
That's me as in Alia by the way...
How much are you charging and where do I send the cash?
My errors are free...
Hiya guys
Hi Lukeh.
hi lukeh
I've just got in from cardiff and I saw the cooooooolest lego thing ever!
I'm not qiute sure what is is but it's red, and it's lego and it looks awesome! I think it's a city.
That looks like a lot of effort has gone into it.
Hello!
I want to love it, but just, too much red.
Hi people.
Someone next to me asked if it was a dragon. Clearly lego dragons are different to what I imagined :)
It's for a lego shop that's just opened here. A whole shop of lego! It was amazing.
Pluggety pluggety plug: Bahrain Bother 2 (Big Questions)
regarding Bahrain if they postpone it to the end of the season how late in the year is the season going to finish?!
could they not make it a back to back with Abu Dhabi?
Hi all
http://adamcooperf1.com/2011/02/21/bahrain-gp-is-postponed/
It shouldn't change the end of the season date - as that's in Brazil. That said, if FOTA doesn't like the idea of an Abu Dhabi-Bahrain-Brazil triple-header, then maybe Brazil is delayed by a week?
Afternoon :)
Depends how easy it is to get everything from Bahrain to Interlagos within a week I suppose. Either that or push Interlagos back and put Bahrain in that slot... it all seems very complicated. Back to back idea seems the most logical though.
three races back to back?
If there are three races in as many weeks, I might actually die.
That in itself isn't an issue. Remember, we did Brazil-Abu Dhabi back to back just last year! The key issue here is if a triple back-to-back is too much.
Either that, or Brazil gets moved to December.
team personnel will beat you into that grave.
and lets be honest, two of those aren't exactly the most exzciting of places!
ahh good point.
was thinking of logistics, not quality of entertainment.
Poor people.
piece of advice for ya. never work in f1.
funny, in a morbid sort of way. :P
Hehehehe, love this from EliGP:
1m22s by Massa, just like we predicted on Live. You read it here first, and if you read it somewhere else, it wasn't official yet...
Exclusive!!
I take it they’re attempting to kill everyone involved with exhaustion?
trying to lose as little money as possible. this all assumes bahrain will be safe by then. hardly a given.
From mid September to November, that could be-->
Italy, Singapore, Korea, Japan, India, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and Brazil.
Poor souls
if it's not safe by then, it never will be. either we go back there in november, or we don't go back there at all.
Yeeesh
*hugs desk*
true, every year i'd threaten the gp until someone made me king, i think :)
:D hahaha!
eleven weeks, kids... eleven weeks!!
8 races in 11 weeks: some fans' ultimate dream, all F1 employees' worst nightmare.
ahhh didn't think about that... erm..
ah...
#confidentialfromlou

I would suggest the summer break but that's a break for a reason I suppose.
And it might be a tad hot. The red bull could just kerplode in such heat!
It's official. From the Information Affairs Authority, Kingdom of Bahrain:
#Bahrain International Circuit announces Bahrain's withdrawal from first race in #F1 season.
#Bahrain #F1 HRH Crown Prince informed Formula One’s Bernie Ecclestone of the BIC’s decision by telephone earlier today.
#Bahrain #F1 HRH CP: We felt it was important for the country to focus on immediate issues of national interest.
cheers sir.
Finally, a bit of common sense found about the whole thing.
Next week's testing will stay in Barcelona I assume?
No worries. And kudos to Joe as well, who was probably the first of the F1 media to call this out - way back on February 14.
http://joesaward.wordpress.com/2011/02/14/meanwhile-in-bahrain/
Wait - that was just a week ago??
FOTA will meet in around 5 minutes to decide precisely that - but I reckon that it's all but guaranteed.
agreed.
5LiveF1 The 4th test will now be relocated in Europe probably from the 10th to 13th March.
In other words, the last test may now take place over what should've been the Bahrain weekend.
Afternoon!

Fixed. ;)
today i'm editting my final few Berlin photos and going for an official edit of my final set (first draft only)..
I just found this one;

Awww!
♥
i have some much better ones (without me and everything!) which i'll upload soon for you Christine.
Speaking of cute:
http://listagr.am/n/barnel02
Lou, is Instagram on Android. If it is, you should look into it. Some really nice pics and interesting filters available
i'll look into it, Am not a huge fan of it tbh, i'd much rather create physical prints like it.. (which we'll be doing soon in our self directed unit!!!) yaay for uni :)
I think it's a nice alternative to twitpic but with better photography
will look into it :)
It's the social aspect that is really good I think. I don't really use it for the filters or anything... I just like the stream of photos and ability to comment it's more social than Flickr in a way.
I have just checked... Apparently an Android version is in the works but not out yet.

Good to hear you got there fine and found somewhere good though.
No, I'm going Thursday. Just booked hotel now
The pubs will be warm at least. Hmmm, Czech beer
Oooh my bad. Assumed you were commenting from hotel :)
Ouch! BBC Weather says the record low for Feb was -28

That was the average temperature here last week. #IloveFinland
Oof!
awesome!
woo :)
Evening.
Sounds good, haven't had a spring roll in ages.
Yay for March babies. Sebring is on mine :) although I'll probably have to miss it. :(
I have just learnt that there is a difference between Holland and The Netherlands. Mind = blown!

The launch of the space shuttle Discovery is still going according to plan. Weather is 80% which is the highest figure I have ever seen from NASA
Launch in 3 days, 3 hours ish
http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/shuttle/main/index.html
Hey Lukeh
Have you sorted out the difference between Holland and The Netherlands?
Yes, I can;t believe they aren't the same. I blame the FIFA games and international football matches for incorrectly informing me.
Geography is never as simple as it first appears. I think their may even be two Hollands in The Netherlands
There is, a North and South. Holland is just the collective of these provinces. A friend on twitter has been teaching me of the true ways of Netherland geography :)
Hellooooooo :)
Nick just told me Alex is having a baby :D
It's good to have someone who knows these things. How anyone is supposed to find out this information with such an impenetrable language is beyond me
It was in the daily post

Goodness. Note to self: do not go to Prague in February!
brrrrrrrrrrrrr
You coulda shared that note with me. ;)
I knew it would be cold, but I thought like New England cold. Surprise! It was not good.
Lovely photos Kai. Looks chilly!
It should be into the 30's F soon, I hope. There was a Brit in our tour group today from the midlands. His complaining and suffering shouldn't have been funny, but the way he was doing it really made me laugh. I kept hearing "my GOD!" hehe
Fish, chips and giant spring roll are lovely :D
Thanks Lukeh. Twas a bit nippy.
What a lovely cathedral!
Those southerners....
Love the pics Kai, snow makes things look more, majestic... and cold.
That sounded brilliant until you mentioned that last bit :( I'll live-comment it for you if it helps...
The architecture here is amazing and there's a heaviness to the place sometimes.

I saw that the other day on your twitter I think and it had me in just as much tears as the presenter. so funny seeing his reactions even if you can;t understand a word :)
They get in a proper heated argument too by the looks of things!
I'm not sure that Prague is a great place for native English speakers who don't know Czech. My experiences so far in one day (wow, I've only been here one day? a lot has gone on), are that some folks who live here really don't like tourists so much. I've come in contact with 4 so far in a short time. Would I want to try to move to a place that won't welcome me? or am I stuck not being welcomed anywhere 'cause I'm American and I should just overlook this and not put it in the equation? hm. I can see reasons for both right now.
It's a real shame they sound so hostile to you as a tourist because it seems such a nice place based on the photos.
I went through the experiences in my blog post for today. Do you think 4 in one day is a lot?
I'm looking for some perspective.
Ohhh I forgot to ask for access. How do I get to look at it?
But I don;t think it is at all, personally I'm always happy to read new blog posts no matter how many a day :)
oh, sorry, I meant 4 rude, over it, disgusted with me people in 1 day?
Access to the blog: I would need an email address so I can send you an invite. Want to DM me on twitter?
It is a lot but in this case it's justified.
What do you mean?
Oops. In that case, that would say 4 rude people in one day (assuming they weren't travelling together) is a lot.
does seem odd that you'd constantly find such hostility. Maybe try seeing on the net if others have had similar experiences in prague?
Will do!
hehe! Oh boy. Sorry for the confusion here.
yay! :)
I'll do the same too... totally forgot.
No, it was 2 checkout (Czech out?) ladies in Tesco on separate days, the lady who sold me the tour ticket, and a woman behind me at a newsstand today when I was buying postcards.
yay twice! :)
We're thinking about recording a lesser-spotted Sidepodchat today. Anyone up for a brief ten minute chatter?
I don't have my mic with me. :( Next time.
I'm up for it
My mic still won't talk to the computer it's attached to!
I'm game
Aww, definitely. I'm noting your name for next time :)
If I can find my PSP, I'll be up for it for sure.
Hi Kai,
Enjoying Prague
Woot!
Fabulouso.
Excellent, we're just setting up.
Mixed. It's freezing and some people are mean. But it's pretty and I like feeling and seeing the history of the place, and it's really compact so you can walk it. But I was outside today for 3.5 hours in -7C weather.
My PC suddenly way faster after I found 3 serious viruses that seem to have appeared today
There is no need for people to be mean. Anything I have seen of Prague looks like it has losts of history
They get 4 million tourists per year. Let's just say customer service must be a new way of life. And, to be fair, it is a new way of life for most Czechs. But some are just hostile outright when I haven't done anything to them except not know Czech. :(
I may even be giving them money in a business they choose to be in!
No-one knows Czech apart from them
hehe
Good point
Good thing to be rid of them, but 3 viruses sounds yucky!
All Java related apparently
I have had my chat with the dim Skype woman and everything is working
Java is horrible for virus importation :(
As long as you aren't talking about me....
could do with x1 more to make it four people. any more skype voluteers?
I was telling her Kathi said she was dim
I still don't believe they flew those Mercury missions in tin foil space suits
Go on someone who's reading this thinking they should, you know you want to :)
Looking back it's amazing that those things made it there - and back.
ultimate lurking.
I think if they had actually had any kind of spacecraft failure and needed the suits to save them I am not sure they would have done a lot
Kai,
Just scanned back through your comments. Living somewhere and being a tourist just arriving are very different. If you moved there you would find things different
Yeah I will be in if ya need one
But I am sure someone more suitable would be willing
Yes, I'd know people, they would introduce me, I'd know where to go and not go bc of tourist areas, etc.
Exactly
I nearly had a heart attack. I thought the Skype call tester was Christine...
Hang on looking for headset. Haven't used it in a year. This is what I meant more suitable. Gimme 2 mins
calling now.
turkey.machine if you're feeling brave and don't mind someone with a stinking cold.
accept turkey machine. Can'r find the headset! *grr*
Heheh, i liked the buzzer.
That was fun :)
Sorry about that. Organization has never been a strong point. I never know where any of my stuff was and once I walked in I was scared to touch anything on the way out so sorry that I lurked...
no worries chap. could you hear us at all?
I could have talked but as I said you were in mid flow. Very good points by all. :)
Next time I clean my room I will remember where I put things!
that's cool, setup was soooo easy this time, we will do more. try and make it semi-regular.
That is an incredible degree of committment to put in print
windows machine worth it then?
true, but. last time, setup time half and hour. this time, setup time 10 mins.
sadly :)
And a quick "plug" on Twitter. Genius I tells ye!
C'mon... I saw Windows 98 used for the first time in about 5 years willingly today to update a server's BIOS.
All hail Bill Gates
I hear the sound of Ctrl+Alt+Del keys being thrown at his grave.
aaannndd i return just in time to miss a sidepodchat. :( hope you all had fun though!
Hi Lou
It was a fun chat and so much better because Mr C has completely abandoned Apple for Windows
*hugs* I did. Found it hard to keep quiet though...
Hey Lou.
I went to get some choccy hobnobs and by the time I came back Sky didn't fancy playing ball :(
It can be difficult but regardless who comes on one of those shows they behave and let everyone else speak. Not many sites could do that
wait.. he still has his mac though??...
boo, we almost got re-directed to your mobile. more soon though.
He said Windows is so much better. 10 minutes to set up instead of an hour and a half for Apple
Ahh, I has a new number anyways, so that wouldn't even have worked.
...
how very daily mail!
Hehehehe.
:D
:D
So my girlfriend's now asking when she can hear my dulcet husky tones. I said "whenever you pick up the phone, darling..."
...and that's how the fight started!
That's because Apple and Skype don't get on. You tried using that app on iPhone? Niiiiightmare...
beep beep beep ber beep This just in BONG Mr C abandons Apple for Windows BONG Charles Babbage spins in grave BONG
wait.. wait... so no mac for mr c????
hehe. chritine's mega editing should be up within the hour.
I've done quite well with it even with video on 3G!
Trevor McDonald has nothing on Giggles :)
:D
Only for Skype
This is the Ten O'Clock news. BONG.
I now just like saying BONG BONG
Damn, I was so hoping that'd be 10pm on the dot.
Good night everyone, see you tomorrow.
oh.. *phew* okay. that's alright then.
Oh maaaan, 1 second.
Should. Not. Clockwatch.
Night Kai, hope your holiday's going good! :)
See ya Kai.
Goodnight
Night Kai, hope Prague treats you better tomorrow
:D
Goodnight BONG
This is the Ten O'Clock News BONG The Ten O'Clock News is late BONG Microsoft is blamed BONG Skype protests
We have christened it the Skype Machine. Not Windows or nothin'.
It sounds like a Dr Who invention...
I knew it! :)
ah phew. *picks self off floor* I couldn't cope if you switched to windows.
I wouldn't mind it, but it would be hard to convince Mr C.
Come to the dark side.... ReactOS
There is an overwhelming answer to why I haven't gone all Apple with my gear.
Money.
If I have to fly over there... :)
Is that a promise?
Also, morning!
I wish. Aiming for 2012
So we have a year to convert Mr C to Windows
:) :)
i would use windows for a week if it meant jeremy would come visit.
I can see his gravestone now...
Died waiting for Windows Updates.
woah I can't believe the bbc homepage!

We could have an Internet fundraiser. If we get enough, I could bring Amy, Pamela and Paul
Wow!!!
The paparazzi need to stay out of my front garden
Stop playing lady gaga so loud then :D
Be nice, make them a cup of tea. Laxative optional.
Sidepodradio
DO IT!
that's an odd charity.
By the looks of that homepage they have already seen my sho-sho-sho-shocked face
Wasn't the mechanics foundation mentioned as an alternative to Wings For Life one time? I forget what the name of it is...
Sorry, Bop It shouldn't be on so loud.
Grand Prix Mechanics Charitable Trust. I gave them my running money instead :)
Thanks, that was it. :)
A quick plug for the MacTalk Australia podcasts. The guys recently went to Webstock in New Zealand (is that the real reason Amy went home?) and interviewed Josh Clark - the person behind the C25K app
Mr C, the link button is giving me trouble. I think it is missing a ">"
But I'm not sure - it could be me.
I'm trying to post this MacTalk link
http://www.mactalk.com.au/content/mactalk-podcast-webstock-2011-josh-clark-1387/
Skype works fine for me on iOS.
iOS on 3GS. I have crash-happy problems with Skype, not to mention the awkward placing of the "send" key.
PS. I haven't listened to them yet. The quality of their other podcasts has diminished since they changed to recording in Sydney over Skype instead of the office in Melbourne
I'll be there in 2012 anyway :P
just post the url straight, the site figures the rest out.
Thats what I mostly do. For some reason, I thought I should use the 'Link' button this time. :)
nah, it's old and in the way. soon to be gone (probably).
Don't anybody leave. We'll be there soon :)
Mr C if you have digital or anything with BBC Wales a documentary about the Manics is on BBC Wales in 5 minutes
To be clear a) they are all good, I've listen to them all and b) that guy is the inventor of couch to 5k process. He's not connected to the app. But his interview was great. Talking about interface design.
Presumably it willappearon the iplayer soon
Oooh good thinking, I'd assume so
ooh, hope so. don't think we have bbc wales sadly.
Why oh why oh why do all the Sebring practise sessions have to be on in the early hours of the morning? It's not so bad when it's the weekend (like it is for the Grand Prix) but asking me to do that on a Monday morning when I have sign language class in the evening is just asking for trouble!
Yep.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00yvv00/Manics_Back_to_Blackwood/
I huffduffed them by the way
ooh. thanking you.
Professor Brian cox's new show looks awesome!
where? when?
Wonders of the Universe, the advert only says coming soon
I thought I had missed it
Skype's always crash happy. I use it on my normal phone and it sits all day signing itself in and out. It sometimes even crashes my whole phone as well as itself... It also likes to phone Steven :D
and hang up on me
Nothing personal I presume...
*cough*linphone*cough*
Hehehe I normally mash helplessly at the keypad tbh....
Interesting. Surely Skype has the momentum though?
Skype has 3 advantages: self-contained in one program, IM and uses (secure) web traffic.
Linphone uses SIP, needs a SIP provider (*cough*I work for one*cough*) but is on an open standard and free.
wonders of the universe series 1 was one of my favourite shows last year. so awesome.
It was a great series
Haymarket Media have taken $35 off my credit card, I assume it's for my F1 Racing subscription, but I never agreed to an ongoing subscription, in fact I had no plans to renew when it stopped. Booo.
stuart said he was back working on it soon though, might be worth renewing just for that?
#stillholdinoutfordigitalversion
it's beautifully shot and wonderfully narrated! :) love it!
I can't remember if I saw it... I must not have :( #shameful
I don't think I've read the last 4, they're still sitting on my table waiting for me. Every month I was like 'surely I'll get a renewal letter soon, my subscription must be up by now'
I'd want to keep it if it was digital too but paper, noooo make it stop :( I can't even find any contact details for them to tell them to stop :(
Pingle: http://sidepodcast.com/post/sidepodchat-by-far-the-best-of-the-tilke-tracks
Nicky Wire makes me laugh so much
"In a typical welsh way when we did well I moved 5 miles down the road to wattsville, then when we hit the big time I moved 5 miles further to newport" :D
woohoo!
Astonishing. Christine, you're awesome. Mega-thanks to you and Mr C, and all while I'm dishing out thanks and hugs!
A cricket related little ping: http://northernwaffler.wordpress.com/2011/02/21/start-the-car-and-get-out-of-the-world-cup/
we're calling it a night. many thanks for the awesome chat. see ya tomorrow.
*hugs*
Night mr and mrs c :)
*bear-hugs*
Night Mr C and Christine
Goodnight folks, I realised I should be heading to bed when wifi gets switched off. :D
Catch ya later.
Goodnight!
...and don't forget to vote: http://sidepodcast.com/post/sidepodchat-by-far-the-best-of-the-tilke-tracks
Love the Sidepodchat. We just need to bring back the sidepodpanel show.
Hey everyone.
Hi Dan
I think we have taken step towards sidepodpanel. Mr C has a Windows machine for Skype and the call was set up in ten minutes. I know it will be at least 6 months before we get one.
Bassaaaaaaaanooooooo!!!
Some points that I would of brought up and probably would of taken way too much time to illustrate:
- Seeing how unstable the region is, I don't think it is far fetch to think the Abu Dubai GP or other races might be in question.
- Agree with Pat on the FIA.
- I agree with Steven that Bahrain is one of Tilke better tracks. I still think the one in Turkey and Malaysia aren't bad. My problem with Tilke is his style of track is dominating the schedule. The type of tracks on the schedule are becoming standardized, thus not rewarding cars of different designs or providing different challenges to the engineers.
oh New Zealand, stop it with the earthquakes :(
WHAT?
they've had another big one in Christchurch, apparently their cathedral has been destroyed which is a shame, it's their most famous building :(
That sounds like a serious quake
oh no :(
Looks like they had two in quick succession. A 5.6 and a 6.3. That shouldn't be enough to destroy a cathedral
http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsww/Maps/region/Australia.php
Looks like they have had hundreds of aftershocks since September. All those little tremors add up.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/feedarticle/9511680
they think there'll be more people hurt than last time as the last one was in the middle of the night while everyone was asleep whereas this one was the middle of the day
There will also have been things shaken a little loose last time that have turned to real damage this time and people will get hurt as a result
I only know a few people who live there and they're all ok judging by facebook
At times like this the internet is incredible.
Just seen some coverage on BBC News. Looks like a lot of damage
