Hello everyone and welcome to a brand new month! No Mr C it’s not October, August is finally upon us! How exciting! I got the distinct impression that Mr C had somewhat of a bad day yesterday . However with the summer break, Spa meetup and the start of Amy’s epic European adventure to look forward to what more could we want from a month? Has anyone got anything exciting planned that they’re looking forward to? In the mean time we must concentrate on today, so here are a few links for your enjoyment;
- The character cup continues today with Karun going up against Mark Webber. At the time of writing there are just 8 votes separating the two, it’s going to be another close battle so make sure you take the time to vote! Speaking of close battles, yesterday Bruno Senna defeated Felipe Massa by just one vote, see every vote counts in these closing stages of the cup. If you’ve missed any rounds, or where you’re favourite driver is take a look at the wonderful Wiki page which will give you all the information you need to know.
- If you live in the UK it’s highly likely you have at least heard of Steven Moffat’s latest masterpiece which comes in the form of the 3 part series ‘Sherlock’. If you are as hooked as many of us are no doubt you are eagerly anticipating tonight’s episode. There has been a new rekindled interest in the famous detective and his adventures recently, with a highly popular film also having been released. In light of this Lukeh has compared the two approaches to the character excellently over on his blog, which I urge you to have a look at. Let’s hope tonight’s episode is as good as last week’s!
- Of course one of the original reasons why we love Sunday’s here on Sidepodcast is because it’s race day! We’re in Hungary this week and with Vettel clinching pole position 4 minutes before the end of Q3 yesterday with a staggeringly quick time of 1m 18.773s we’ve no reason to believe we’re in for the best race today. However yesterday I tried to remain positive about qualifying (even though Jenson didn’t make it into Q3) and the coverage. I’m going to try the same again today, looking for the positive parts of the race instead of concentrating on the negatives as I have been of late. I hope some of you will join me. If you didn’t manage to catch qualifying you can find a perfect summery of the results here.
- Obviously something very positive about the race today is that Mr and Mrs C are both going to be watching it and experiencing the day live from Renault HQ so hopefully they will be able to keep us updated with the events of their day. I hope both Mr and Mrs C have a brilliant time, and if anyone else is also going or have been to a similar event we’d love to hear about your days too!
I’m going to finish the daily with a plead for predictions. As I’m sure you've probably noticed Hungary is often the scene of some memorable events. For example Jenson’s first win, the Lewis v Alonso pitstop disaster, Heikki’s crash, Heikki’s win, and of course most recently the live timing fail and Massa’s horrific crash. This year, in comparison has been reasonably quiet so I’m expecting great things from the race. What do you think is going to happen? I’m going to predict a Nico Rosberg victory, what do you think? Whatever happens, I hope you all have a lovely day!
