If there's anything I dislike more than Thursdays, it's April Fool's Day. I don't remember the last time I saw a really good, original fool that got everyone talking. However, it could happen, so keep your eyes peeled. Meanwhile, here's what we're talking about:

  • Toyota have dropped their appeal over Trulli's penalty that demoted him from 3rd to 12th. They say that it would be pointless, as they can already see how it would be rejected. One of these days, someone will put in an appeal and see it all the way through to the end!
  • Bridgestone have admitted that the soft compound is likely to cause more problems in Malaysia, although they use the word "challenging" rather than "terrible." Supposedly, the hard tyre will be slightly softer, but shouldn't make too big a difference, whilst the soft tyre is going to be the issue.
  • Meanwhile, Rosberg is worried about the timing of the race itself, having experienced the later starting format in Australia. He reckons the shadows are a problem, and if it rains in Malaysia, then it's going to be undriveable.

That'll do for now. Don't stick to what I've mentioned above though, there's plenty going on both in and outside of the world of F1 to talk about. I'll see you in the comments.

I just wanted to pick up on the comments about the FIA waiting for Button to pit before brining out the Safety car.

Sorry, but this does not make sense to me - under the new safety car rules, the FIA did not need to wait - Even IF they wanted to help Button.

In fact - they could have helped him by brining the safety car out earlier! Remember that when the Safty car comes out, all cars circulate at a reduced speed until they catch up with the safety car - and this reduced speed would have given Button more time to make a pit stop (as opposed to stopping when the chasing cars are running at racing speed)

It looked to me like just a common FIA c-up

But if the SC came out AHEAD of Button, then Button, as race leader, would have had to slow down, which would let those behind him (in particular, those who had already stopped) catch up.

I will watch the race again tonight - but I was convinced the FIA wanted to wait until everyone pitted to avoid ruining the race for some people - not just the Brawns... But by that time the accident was cleared so it was pointless to bring it out...

The safty car only joins the track from the pit lane. If Button is half way around the lap, then he can run at the reduced speed back to the pits and stop before rejoining and forming up behind the safty car.

But wasn't Button approaching pit straight when Nakajima had his shunt? Also, he went past pit entry the first chance he got to pit, so had to do 1 more whole lap before he could pit.

rumours about illegal KERS and protests over at Pitpass ...

    and Toyota dropped the appeal

  • Journeyer01/04/2009 at 07:57

rumours about illegal KERS and protests over at Pitpass …

I don't think Mr C cares much for that site. Using phrases such as "the coffin that is Formula One" won't help their cause, either. After Australia, the sport is very much alive and well.

That said, since the teams did not protest the result of these 'KERS teams' in Australia, that result cannot change anymore. If the FIA will make any statements before FP1 on Friday, they will come in the form of clarifications and will not affect previous results. I wonder who is protesting who, though? Remember, only 4 teams have used KERS, and at least 2 are being complained.

Only the results of the diffuser teams are those in danger, since they were protested before Australia, and even then, most people in and out of the paddock think that the chances of that appeal succeeding are very low.

    and Toyota dropped the appeal

    No surprise there.

I hope this isn't true as I was impressed by the difference it made when the boost was used...

Just listening to the Williams Podcast. It's quite good - but Kazuki's voice sounds like gravel running through a crusher!

I hope this isn’t true as I was impressed by the difference it made when the boost was used…

Maybe the boost output lasted for more than 6 seconds? Not the boost itself, but the activity of KERS boosting the engine.

Nakajima had his shunt on lap 17

    Button pitted lap 19

Safety car came in at the end of lap 24

Nakajima's shunt was heavy enough that it may have warranted the medical car coming out (didn't it come out for Kubica and Vettel's scrap?)

If there’s anything I dislike more than Thursdays, it’s April Fool’s Day.

I don't know where the Thursday-hate comes from, but I like to get through the day with "Techno Thursdays" - Techno on my iPod and Techno dancing in my work pod.

Wait... is it not Wednesday today? April Fool Christine! :-D

Toyota have dropped their appeal over Trulli’s penalty that demoted him from 3rd to 12th. They say that it would be pointless, as they can already see how it would be rejected. One of these days, someone will put in an appeal and see it all the way through to the end!

Talking about tyres, just like Bridgestone want us to...

Meanwhile, Rosberg is worried about the timing of the race itself, having experienced the later starting format in Australia. He reckons the shadows are a problem, and if it rains in Malaysia, then it’s going to be undriveable.

Nico's just being a "Soft Cog" ;-) Seriously though, sportscar drivers deal with it all the time and if he keeps driving the way he does, he shouldn't say things like that or he'll never get a sportscar drive!!!

It does not have to rain. If it is overcast the track may be pretty dark around 6:30 pm ...

But it will rain, it always rains in Sepang an hour or so after the race. But the races used to finish at 4:30, now it starts at 5 :-)

Probbly was - although it will take a little while for the race controler to make a decision and release the SC.

All I am saying - to those who suggest a pro-Brawn conspricy - that if the FIA wanted to help Brawn, they would have helped more if they had put the safty car out 90+ seconds earlier. I cannot see how waiting for Button to make his stop actually helped.

  • Mattw01/04/2009 at 09:00

The rules on visibility is that you need to be able to see from one marsals post to the next. If you cannot, then the race will be stopped.

(and I'm saying that as someone whos has spent many a day waiting for fog to lift at a Kart track)

    I meant streets.

I don't know I think you said something like "if the brawn cars streak ahead". Which is right. But then the next thing Mr C says is something like "if they are Streets ahead". So I think you're both right, but I like the little change in between :)

Sure, they have the rights to them now I suppose including broadcasting previous races. The commentary is Croft and hamilton for the more modern ones though although I just watched the 2000 race with Murray, Brundle and James Allen in the pits so who knows.

  • Alenyaa01/04/2009 at 15:23

I remember one April Fools joke that had almost the entirety of F1-loving Holland on.

If you remember the 2000 and 2001 seasons, you'll probably recall Jos Verstappen at the Arrows team. 2000 was a pretty good year for the team mostly thanks to Jos who bagged a good couple of points despite the car being moderatly reliable and its performance being inconsistent. Also, having Pedalo as the other driver meant there was plenty of experience between the 2 of them.

So after that reasonably good season on came 2001 and the most memorable race of that season: the Malaysian Grand Prix, which was the second event that year.

Monsoon rains poured down onto the circuit and saw Jos in what could have been the race of his life.

I'm not completely sure but I think he may have run in second at some point, but he certainly was in a monumental battle with McLaren's Hakkinen and and Jordan's Frentzen for the remaining podium spots. (I'm sure youtube has some videos on that race.)

Eventually he even missed out on points because a late pit stop saw him fall back to an eventual 7th, just outside the points back then. The team even appologised to him for having him make that final stop which wasn't part of the original plan.

Anyhoo, the paddock was firmly impressed with his performance as could be concluded from comments and interviews post race. Even race winner Schumacher gave him a plug at the press conference, which turned out to be the seed from which the April Fool's joke would grow.

Two weeks later saw Brazil host the third round of the championship and the Dutch television's F1-crew saw fit to use Jos' performance as a part of their joke. On air during what I think was quali, they spread the rumour that Ferrari would have been interested to sign Jos as their second driver in the near future (hence Michael mentioning Jos' performance at te Malaysian press conference). They even got Jos himself and his management involved! They kept bringing up the rumour during the rest of the weekend and even held a special mock-interview with his manager back in the studio.

Of course many of the Dutch audience were thrilled at this news of their favourite driver getting a second chance (my dad and I included) but obviously found out it was just an April Fool's joke a day later.

Have anyone the link for THIS game?

  • Vinnchan01/04/2009 at 16:52

    Malaysia Preview comment for me:

The Australian GP was like a dream. I feel like Malaysia is the pinch that's going to wake us all up. We'll see if Red Bull really is the closest contenders to the Brawn GP cars, we'll see if McLaren have any pace, and we'll see if KERS really does make a difference in a more traditional circuit. Hopefully the new tighter field will mean more overtaking and more action for this year's Malaysian GP.

We’ve had one race and already we have, in my opinion, had enough politics for the whole season. So Trulli may end up being 3rd after all… what a mess.

Ahh modern f1. Where would we be without a simple decision and outcome? :P

    OK... two comments:

    1) Why didn't the stewards pick this up earlier?

    2) Didn't Toyota drop their appeal? Surely this reporter would not be the only person to know about this and would have informed the team???

Judging by Hamilton's record with the stewards I'm not exactly optimistic here :-(

    1) who says they didn't? we have still yet to see a stewards report right?

    2) yes they did, but maybe because they knew about this?

what i dont get about appeals is that they cost money...which you dont get back, so they might have gone through with it anyway and if this is true then they would have definitely won.

Maybe this is the reason why they did. Why waste your time when the FIA can do all the fines and legal stuff for you.

  • Kathi01/04/2009 at 18:03

ahh, that’s interesting. so the safety car was on standby, rather than actually called?

We hadn't intended to send out the safety-car. The message from the track was: Everything under control. But then we suddenly saw a crane on the track and we had to neutralise the race for safety reasons.

That was the reason it came out so late and then the procedure had to run through. Button had to be found, all drivers collected, lapped drivers unlapped and so on. link

    OK, here's mine:

    MALAYSIA PREVIEW QUOTE:

Looking forward to an interesting race - I think this race will provide a better indication of where the teams lie in terms of performance. I also think that we will see KERS making more of a difference due to the long straights. It's good that the race is on later than usual so we don't have to get up at silly o'clock to watch it - and I'm hoping for rain as that always gives us an exciting race!

  • Christine01/04/2009 at 18:27

    OK, here’s mine:

    Excellent, thanks Gavin :)

  • Gavin Brown (RubberGoat)01/04/2009 at 18:27

    You're welcome!

  • Lukeh01/04/2009 at 18:30

    Malaysia preview:

I think the weather may have a big part to play this weekend with the race, and if it does, it'll give us a good idea what to expect from the cars in such conditions. Ferrari always seem to perform in Malaysia so I'm expecting we'll see them a bit more prominently but it wouldn't surprise me if we continue to see a nice mixed field of cars up and down the grid in the same way Australia provided. Here's hoping it brings a good, exciting race with lots of unpredictablilty though!

  • Steven Roy01/04/2009 at 18:30

Nico’s just being a “Soft Cog” Seriously though, sportscar drivers deal with it all the time and if he keeps driving the way he does, he shouldn’t say things like that or he’ll never get a sportscar drive!!!

    Sportscars have headlights

  • Steven Roy01/04/2009 at 18:31

I am slightly confused by his complaints, because if there is torrential rain, the race gets stopped anyway. Charlie Whiting isn’t out to get them hurt on purpose, is he?

Bernie is putting the pursuit of the dollar above driver safety and Max the great safety guru is sitting back and letting him.

The race has farce-ending potential. But so did Australia, and that went alright didn't it?

Every time F1 is faced with a new situation the worry-warts and doom-mongers come out. Yet strangely enough, F1 always seems to come out of it OK!

    1) It's Honda

    2) It refers to F1 twice. I have a big issue with a company that pulled out of F1 for political embarrassment and because they were shockingly awful then going and promoting F1 as a success of the company!

Yeah. Let's make motor sport more dangerous than it needs to be. Your comment sounds like the kind of thing people used to say to Jackie Stewart.

  • Steven Roy01/04/2009 at 19:03

I am not denying that. But when it rains, the safety car gets called. I’ve sat through those laps.

I agree with that but because of the start time any need to delay the race is going to be fought by Bernie. So we could end up watching 50 laps behind the safety car just to be sure the race is completed on Sunday

At least when they race at night there are lights. It was dark enough in Brazil last year with the cloud cover. The inevitable rain in Sepang and twilight is a recipe for disaster.

The race has farce-ending potential. But so did Australia, and that went alright didn’t it?

Every time F1 is faced with a new situation the worry-warts and doom-mongers come out. Yet strangely enough, F1 always seems to come out of it OK!

So we keep taking needless risks until someone dies and then decide that was too far.

Piquet hit the wall at Tamburello but walked away so nothing got changed.

Berger hit the wall at Tamburello and got away with minimal injuries so nothing got changed

i'm not totally sure the team would have been in the same position come Melbourne if they were still honda... the honda engine was useless! i think considering they don't have a time machine they made the right call in the long run.

as i argued somewhere else (maybe dan's blog?). if honda had remained involved the car would've been stuck with the honda lump powering it and likely wouldn't have been a winner!

they got screwed by the homologation rules. just maybe they've found a way to get a customer engine, and make the thing a race winner? we don't know what's go on behind closed doors and who still owns what.

Toyota nearly did pull-out. And Renault are hanging on for longer for 1 reason - Alonso.

Honda felt they could not afford to spend any more money on F1, no matter how successful they would have been this year…

Honda were under massive pressure from the Japanese media over them pumping millions into F1 with no return, wile they were making job cuts at their car factories. They had to pull out of F1 to try to save their reputation.

If you want accidents due to bad visibility caused by rain you can have Pironi at Hockenheim

So you think it's unfair of me to call the whole car company stupid because they imposed bad decisions on the F1 team.

Somebody please tell me why the car company is brilliant. I am curious here.

  • Scott Woodwiss01/04/2009 at 19:39

Humph. I don’t even have one!

It's my mum's laptop though, and she's away overnight in Scotland on business, so shhhh. ;)

True. The people making the big decisions were useless then.

There's a big difference between being brilliant and being useless idiots though, isn't there?

P.S: I am on no one's side here.

There is. I don't see why someone would want to be a fan of the company. They just make 'cars' - boring ones at that. Sure, there are a few exceptions, but really, there's no passion in that company and that is why they were destined to fail in F1.

    my malaysia preview for digest:

after the mayhem of the streets, f1 heads to a proper venue, a place built for one purpose, to race. and with a proper race track comes the opportunity to figure out who's got pace and who's got to find some.

off-track, for the second weekend in a row it looks like f1 is set for more controversy. the stewards have likely already run out of appeals notices, and we've only seen one chequered flag this season.

yes. however, we learnt very little about the true pace of the cars and kers.

Somebody please tell me why the car company is brilliant. I am curious here.

They are putting more effort into hybrid, electric and hydrogen powered cars than anyone else, they are making a particular effort to make alternative fuel powered cars affordable, they have put massive r&d into advancing robotics, they have been prolific in a huge number of motorsports over the years AND they make the best adverts in the world.

Very true. it's the appeal of Melbourne but it is nice to see where the real pace is too. Very technical is that Sepang - I fear Lewis is going to have one of those weekends where he throws his toys out of the cot...

I just wish they'd put that effort into the F1 team instead of just assuming that pumping money into the team solves the problem!

So Hamilton is back in front of the stewards on thursday then....

Stewards at one race appealing the protest and investigation of another group of stewards.

    Great... Just what we need.

  • RG01/04/2009 at 19:51

    Malaysia preview from the RG

April is a brilliant month in general, mainly for the fact that the racing really gets going with Malaysia, China and Bahrain. The race will determine is Brawn's pace was a one off, and to be sure that the disapointing teams, Ferrari and McLaren included, can pick themselves up after by all standards not being very quick over the weekend. If it does rain as predicted, I've got no idea who will win. Fisichella could snatch it if he is lucky, if its dry, again anyone of Brawn, Toyota, Rosberg, Vettel or Kubica could win it. Does it look as if I know whats going on yet?

Loads of companies are taking it seriously too. I work for a company that isn't exactly in a green industry but puts a lot of money into green research and technology. We just don't shout about it much, that's all!

Are they as big as Honda though? Most companies their size make a token effort but few are actually serious about it.

  • Scott Woodwiss01/04/2009 at 20:22

I know I sent a voicemail prediction earlier but I'd like to add a written preview so you've got plenty to use if you want :)

After an amazing season opener the F1 circus now makes the trip to the swealtering humidity of Malaysia. While the Sepang circuit presents its own challenges, the big test is coping with the strenuous conditions. It's hot, humid and sticky but usually a monsoon is never far away! As for the prospects of the race weekend, Brawn surely go into it as favourites once again after their perfect start to renewed life in F1. Red Bull, Toyota and Williams look to be their main competition right now as the "big 4" are struggling to get to grips with the new rules. With the prospect of rain coming, this could dramatically level the playing field and make for a stunning continuation of the championship. In that case, I'd better start learning a rain dance for the weekend!

How's that? Hope it's not too long. :)

  • Fiox01/04/2009 at 20:22

I fear the first kers death from the rain. All that energy stored in a battery so close to the driver. That and the fact there will be more spins than Massa on a roundabout.

  • Christine01/04/2009 at 20:23

How’s that? Hope it’s not too long. :)

Thanks Scott. Don't worry, I edit as appropriate :)

I'm sure all the necessary precautions have been taken to make KERS as safe as possible. Put it this way - if it was dangerous, they wouldn't have been running KERS-fitted cars in the wet in the pre-season tests.

but harking back to my original point a couple of days ago. If they are going to use the evidence that the safety car button light had cleared on the steering wheel .. when do we the public get to see that?

I thought reading and driving was dangerous anyway.

  • Jackie01/04/2009 at 20:49

I don't know why they don't have the technology to put the cars into some sort of cruise control behind the safety car so that their speed is fixed

Another pit limiter button but at a higher speed would do the trick, though it would be difficult for the drivers to keep heat in the tires and breaks.

Thats one of the reason they wanted to go to 17" rims instead of the 13" rims they have now.

Less tyre wall to soften and decrease ride height. On the down side - they'll look pretty god awful and they will need to increase the movement in the suspension to compensate - but that will equate to more stable ride height

Not everyone can access a viewable race and live timing at the same time. Hence why having it on the red button is good.

It's the fact that it has to be collected for repairs that's annoying. Mind you when I had that problem last time, it came back 2-3 days later when they said it could take 10-14. Fingers crossed it's that quick again.

I don't know if this has been mentioned; but it seems that all the teams without the double decker diffusuer have one in the works with the outcome of the appeal unknown for another week at least.

    http://en.f1-live.com/f1/en/headlines/news/detail/090401100134.shtml

Media reports say the cost of Ferrari's work on accommodating a double diffuser, involving substantial revisions to the entire F60, has been estimated at 20 million (Euros).

"We are basically having to build a new car," an unnamed Ferrari team source is quoted by the Munich newspaper TZ as saying.

You have to think that Ferrari are hoping the appeal goes their way.

Speaking of Wiki pages, how about one for the guys at Pitlane Fanatic to store archives of all the quizzes and answers to make it easier to find instead of the forum format on that site?

Well well mr.c, it seems I am eating my words right now. You only just beat me though!

    don't you already have - http://www.sidepodcast.com/links/ ??

  • Joe01/04/2009 at 22:12

I'd say Ferrari would be hoping that the appeal isn't successful on their side, as that's quite a lot of money wasted if that is the case.

  • me01/04/2009 at 22:12

    don’t you already have - http://www.sidepodcast.com/links/ ??

    Right, here’s a first attempt:

Thanks for the link, I'm always amazed at people remembering mine. :-)

I still keep meaning to update the links on it, and now I have something to refer to!

I write notes during every race and post them a couple of hours after the flag as a log of what happened. I hope the last lot were okay, it's always hard to tell especially in the early morning races. I try and make it interesting.

It isn't the same as a live blog. Live blogs are okay at the time but if you're trying to follow it hours/days later, it isn't the same. Stole the idea from Pressdog and he seems to appreciate the UK angle..

  • Flibster01/04/2009 at 23:05

would you buy a used car of this woman? :P

Shouldn't that be 'off ANY woman?'

    *runs... hides....*

  • Steven Roy01/04/2009 at 23:05

shhhh stop bringing it up… i don’t think anyone else has noticed

They will soon though. I still think you would enjoy doing it.

  • Jon Waldock01/04/2009 at 23:05

no, but i’ve seen how she drives.

haha, i'll just bring matt with me, he'll enjoy that kind of thing, although he still works in imperial...must change that...

  • lou(♥ brawngp)01/04/2009 at 23:07

:D she seemed fine in the sidepod diary she did once.....

  • Steven Roy01/04/2009 at 23:07

Alianora has come up with another really unusual blog post. She is tracking what the FIA check on each car at each race to see if they are even handed or some cars are checked more than others.

Unless it's a little old lady who only ever drove to the shops and to church on Sundays.

  • me01/04/2009 at 23:08

    awesome. hehehe.

    interesting. me likes.

There's nothing wrong with the method.

The engine is now sparkly clean on the outside, essentially new on the inside and works beautifully.

  • Steven Roy01/04/2009 at 23:10

    shhhhh!!!

You know you want to do it. You can't let Jackie be the only woman to host. I think she only did it because you were going to do it. You can even ask lots of Jenson questions. Imagine Lou's Jenson podpanel.

  • lou(♥ brawngp)01/04/2009 at 23:12

A Jenson podpanel, now i am interested.....how exactly is this going to work? will he deliver a cake to...oh wait :D

  • jolly01/04/2009 at 23:15

I know they existed in the 50s and I know Tony Brooks handed a winning car to Moss one year but beyond that I don’t know much about shared drives.

me neither :-) but basically understand that drivers could share a car during the grand prix providing they shared any points won between them. Therefore if the "lead" driver had problems with his car during the grand prix his team-mate could pit with his good car and hand over his car to the "lead" driver so "lead" driver could still pick up some points.

Hopefully there is someone out there in sidepodcastland who can explain it a little better.

imagine if F1 still had shared drives - Alonso + Hamilton 2007

  • littlepurplegoth01/04/2009 at 23:16

Best way to be 'funny' is to be completely straight and let all the panelists do the 'funny' :-)

I think that was how it worked for Andy anyway.....

  • Steven Roy01/04/2009 at 23:16

ssshhhhhh!!! but i won’t be funny like everyone else has been… so shh!

You don't need to be funny. The ting about the podpanel having guest hosts is that every show is different. When I did mine I decided that I was going to stay in the background and say as little as possible and let the panellists be the stars. Scott on the other hand turned his into a stand up routine. Everyone is different so do it as you and not as an impression of wht you think you should be. It would be good for your self confidence to do it. We will all be nice to you and in the end you will enjoy it.

That is what happened with Brooks and Moss. Brooks had had an accident in an earlier race and started the race knowing that there was no way he could finish. Moss's car developed problems so the team called both drivers in and Moss took Brook's car and they shared the points.

LPG has a point though - Lou, you don't have to be funny, the panellists are there for that. Your job is to keep order and ask the questions.

It also gives you three weeks to think up questions. All you need is up to ten open questions that let people talk a lot. You will probably only need 6 or 7 in the show but best to have a few spare in case someone drifts into one of your other questions with an answer. If you need any help let me know.

  • lou(♥ brawngp)01/04/2009 at 23:59

  • Steven Roy02/04/2009 at 00:05

yeah but they all need to be relevant to what’s going on… so i can’t really make them all up now….

You can pick general subjects like what people think of diffusers or KERS or whatever and at the time if there has been a stewards meeting that changes their legality add that in. You can also ask things like Journeyer asked on Sunday about what the most important rule change ever was. So you don't need stuff that is right up to date.

When I did it I thought I would struggle to come up with questions that would be open enough to let people talk but in the end I was seeing questions everywhere.

You will enjoy it. I promise you. If after you have done it you decide it wasn't fun then you don't need to to do it again.

    i have prefect training one weekend coming up which will mean less time for work and revision {Comment #686}

You get prefect training? When I was a prefect, it was basically, "Go there at this time, make sure nobody breaks the rules and if anyone annoys you enough to want to insult or hit them, get a teacher". Your set-up sounds a lot more sophisticated.

  • lou(♥ brawngp)02/04/2009 at 00:23

    Fantasy Racers update

Jenson is now the second most expensive driver with a value of 11.30m

Rubens is now the same price as Heikki - 9.70m

erm yeah... it used to be like that at our school too... then they changed it so that prefects have a higher status than they did... plus they get more responsibilities etc.

    i had 5 hours of exams last year, in my day {Comment #690}

I had five-and-a-half hours (including extra time) one day in Year 12. In their infinite wisdom, the exam boards asked me to sit an Ethics paper on life and death, General Studies Maths/Science and Maths P1 on the same day. If the total paper length had been half an hour longer, I'd have had to stay at a teacher's house overnight...

I was fine (and even ended up doing some revision later on), but by the end of the exam sequence, the poor person invigilating my exam needed a bit of a rest...

Yes but the people who sell them early get a big boost so then you only have to track the people who bought them early then sold them early

  • jolly02/04/2009 at 00:42

just checked my driver values - so far overall they've increased by 9.6m

  • Steven Roy02/04/2009 at 00:46

I was really getting in to 1986. leading the championship and winning races was fun. Then in the last race I DNF'd because of a problem with my rear wing. Practise I had an accident so only got 3 out of 7 laps and in quali I had an accident on my first lapso am 2nd last. Fortunately Dan Brunnel's luck is worse than mine and he is last.

Just catching up with the Fantasy Racers spreadsheet topic, I didn't forget all the above things (adding Button, adding teams). I started doing it, kept it up to date, figured I would republish at the start of the season.

But it is physically impossible for me to go through all that data now. Unfortunately, there are only 24 hours in a day, and even on Sidepodtime, that ain't enough. I really should remove the link, so Mr C can't keep bringing up things I have already given up on!!
