Hey guys, how has your week been so far? Are you enjoying the F1 ‘summer holiday’? If you are missing your fix of F1 action, I may have some links to help tide you over…
…Firstly, in honour of the awful way in which the Indycar race was conducted, I have found a video full of Safety Car Fails. Indycar isn’t alone, it seems!
Staying with American racing, when the NASCAR finally got going at Watkins Glen, it had a great finish. Those barriers look mighty close to the track for my liking, but apparently they can get away with not installing SAFER barriers because of costs, something which I am sure wouldn’t happen in F1. Pippa Mann probably wishes they had though…
Mercedes have released a making of video of the ‘Decision’ advert – I never realised that Nico and Michael never were in the advert at the same time!
Finally, the amazing Hoonigan Ken Block has just released Gymkhana 4 – which is a bit heavy on the CGI but it’s still awesome. Click here for almost 10 minutes of hooning in HD!
But what’s been happening in F1? Well, check out Christine’s Tweets of the Week as well as her Driver and Team Rankings – needless to say, things are a little quiet right now. Renault have made a cartoon about the summer break and also sponsored Norwich City FC – wonder if both will still be around in the top flight come next May? ;)
James Boyle has a great post comparing the 2014 Engine Regulations to those of the last Turbo Era. While I think it’s great they are changing the rules so that new manufacturers could be persuaded to join, I don’t think the new engines will compare to those fire-breathing monsters!
Leigh has a quick summary of all the other motorsport goings on over the break, while Victoria has been making F1 Cupcakes – very yummy, apparently. I wonder which one was quickest from oven to plate to mouth?
Tommy over at WTF1 has collected the best of the #ifFOMcoveredfootball tweets and some great pictures showing what it would look like – very amusing and well worth checking out!
Here’s a slightly disheartening piece about why car magazines don’t always have original and unique content. Aww…
As promised last week, I have been uploading all my photos since I went on holiday in July – there’s quite a few pics and I am far from finishing them, so check out my photostream, and in particular my photos from the Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix and Egeskov Castle Classic Car and Motorcycle Museum. If you love Vintage and Classic Cars, you’re in for a treat and they were both great days out!
Finally, here’s a lovely little video for you. Now, where I am from (Wellington, NZ), it hardly ever gets cold enough to snow in Winter. But last weekend, for the first time in 15 years it actually did. One film maker was lucky enough to capture the moment when the snow started falling in the central city and caught it on film. It’s a really lovely video and it’s full of happy people, so sit back and enjoy it, and I’ll see you in the comments :)
Nice daily Gavin,
I can confirm that Newman-Haas and Ganassi Racing are now officially protesting the result of Sunday's IndyCar race.
More to be revealed soon...
lovely video Gavin :)
much nicer than the image representing Dunedin's snowfall thats circulating on the internet in which someone drew an inappropriate picture in the snow in front of the Octagon webcam :)
"Those barriers look mighty close to the track for my liking, but apparently they can get away with not installing SAFER barriers because of costs"
not even techpro barrier? eesh.
It is amazing how many useless safety car drivers there have been. I had only ever seen 2 or 3 of those clips
Not until someone dies
i had no idea. how half-arsed.
I thought Tony Fernandes was getting involved with Norwich football sqaud or whatever they're called (not a football fan, can you tell?) Oh god, we're not gonna see the Lotus vs Lotus saga spill into everything else now are we? that's a bit more than I can deal with! Fed up of fricking Danny Bahar and his silly ideas ruining a brand that was my childhood dream to own a car! Go away from cars Danny Bahar! grrrr And stop paying off every single classic TEAM lotus driver to try and give yourself credence, it's not big and it's not clever, just pi... grrr sorry, rant over
looks that way.
I love the #ifFOMcovered football post and tweets. It used to be said if the FIA ran football we would have round pitches and square balls so nice to see a new take on this.
I particularly like the tweet about missing minutes 3-5 while we watch replays of the kick off. Looks like this is annoying a lot of people and not just us
Fernandes tried to buy West Ham and even tweeted to suggest a deal had been done
I think I'm gonna cry! although, i dont follow football, so if they move the battle to there and keep it away from the pitlane, that's fine by me.
is norwich the closest football team to team lotus' factory?
Yes
It's the only major team in Norfolk and probably 20-30 miles from both Team and Group Lotus. Assuming I remember my East Anglian geography correctly
amazingly petty.
Bahar has to sell all those extra thousands of cars somewhere so advertising at a football club whose matches are shown to audiences all over the world and particularly in places like China makes sense
yeah. but the club that happens to be on tony's doorstep? of all the clubs in the uk?
It is on Group Lotus's doorstep too and they play in yellow and green the same colours as the Lotus badge
Norwich I imagine is probably the only available football team at the highest level.
ahh true.
fair enough.
I love the "stolen safety car" at the end.
Every time I see a new Nascar at full speed I'm amazed (and scared) at how "light" they are in the back. The rear grip seems to be zero...
I guess they don't need rear grip on an oval. So long as the front works I guess that is enough.
yeah, but even in ovals you see them going almost sideways sometimes. I wonder if a bit more of grip would prevent some crashes, as they're so at the limit now.
Could well be that more rear grip would help. The odd thing is that if you listen to the drivers they talk about a car switching from understeer to oversteer during a stint but any time I see them the front end seems to grip OK and the rear is dancing around
clearly this and rallying require a somewhat different set of skills. his WRC participations never set the world alight
you need to correctly set the zero of the scale. it's "understeer" and "oversteer" over the normal "massively ridiculous oversteer" :P
It's easy to do the gymkhana stuff when he can do 300 re-takes and cut the best bits together. He needs a lot more experience of WRC before we can judge him but WRC is way more difficult than his videos
:D
so many tyre tracks. he'd have been better spending the CGI money on removing those.
off course
:)
judging by the quality of the CGI, I don't think he spent a lot of money...
I haven't watched it. It just doesn't appeal to me. But the tyre tracks I have seen in some of his other videos shows how many practise runs/takes he does
is somebody seeing the tennis? is nice to see Federer playing at top form.
too bad that the victim has to be Delpo :(
Didn't know there was any tennis on
2nd round of cincinatti, it's almost finished
i loved the one at the disused racetrack. this one is low quality and cheesy.
I am not a big tennis fan
agreed
christine was watching it on sunday i think. not on eurosport now sadly.
it's over now. I hope Federer keeps this form until the end, he's not allowed to beat Del Potro if he doesn't reach at least the final... ;-)
lovely video!
falling snow (and snow in the ground in the morning) has something... I get as happy as those people every time it snows here, and it snows much more frequently than once every 15 years. actually, it's snowing right now :)
I like today's Google Doodle:
http://www.google.co.uk/
(put the pointer over the image to see the alt text)
It's related to this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fermat%27s_Last_Theorem
Just the thing to wake up to, and lovely music to accompany it.
I was looking at Gavin's photo's from the classic car event and there's a picture on the second row of a Ford Escort, I learned to drive in one just like that (well without the flared wheel arches and huge engine) and right next to it is a Hillman Minx or certainly it's the same shape, maybe a different manufacturer, that was my very first car. Hehe, bought it from a car auction and the guy must have seen us coming and put sand in the gearbox or something to tart it up for sale, we got it home and less than 20 miles later it died, end of car, happy memories though
Sunday was Rogers Cup in Montreal, different tournament, different country :D Still the US Open series though, close enough :)
Morning. F1 2011 will have safety cars! Best unexciting news ever :)
Will you have a mode where you can drive the safety cars?
Morning all
I'd rather they just fix F1 2010 first!
Will they be controlled by Brian Barnhart?
Hehe great stuff. It was great seeing all of those lovely cars, especially explaining to my Venezuelan friend what they were!
I can only judge from playing NASCAR Racing 2003 and iRacing, both of which are made by the same guy. And I can tell you the COT has no rear grip at all!
agreed.
It is a bit. But he does drive through a wall and into a man wearing a gorilla suit on a ladder!
One needs to bare in mind, many NASCAR drivers come up from the USAC trail which is all about driving with the rear end loose.
Aww. Bloody students eh!
Much higher speeds in the Sprint Cup though!
That's why they also come through the ARCA, Trucks ans Nationwide ladder too
Happy birthday to Nelson Piquet - 59 today !!
Ha! I was just today telling the story of the fight he had after crashing one time. Can't remember the GP exactly, but it was s funny watching him trying to punch a guy with his helmet on. :-)
1982 German GP against Eliseo Salazar
That's the one!
As Batman would say, "thwack"
http://www.motorsportretro.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/176.jpg
Oh yeah, I subscribed to GP+ last night and uploaded them to my iPad. It's an ace mag and looks brilliant on the iPad.
I also figured out why GPWeek and a few others don't work in PDF format - apparently the iPad can't handled JPEG2000 compression, so I have to download it to my PC, open it, re-save it and then email it to myself...
Sounds like a chore to be honest.
How well do you know your Formula 1 history?
The book That'll be the Day: 365 F1 Stories takes a look at significant moments or quirky happenings on this day in Grand Prix history. Can you guess what event the following describes?
oooh I know this one!
It is. I suppose I can just read GPWeek online but I wanted to have a copy...
For those slightly confused by the IndyCar debacle on Sunday, this is well worth a read
http://auto-racing.speedtv.com/article/indycar-loudon-rewind/
today is a wonderful day! for the first time in 2 weeks i have a working smart phone. it's like getting a brand new phone all over again! :)
I hope everyone is all well!
Yay!
i love the 21st century.. our tech is so great. :)
It's unbelievable how a smartphone integrates and changes the way you do stuff!
Saw this band (Francois and the Atlas Mountains) supporting Electrelane last night - pretty good thought I
:)
http://www.myspace.com/francoisinbristol
completely! although after much thought i've decided i can't keep myself organised with it.. i've tried using a combination of my phone and my ical on my mac and it's just difficult. Thinking i'm gonna have to go back to paper. *don't kill me mrs c*
ohh the post has just come, thank you for the stickers Mr and Mrs C :)
Just in time for Silverstone this weekend :)
Soo many stickers.. so many ideas :)
"Colin Kolles says HRT is "quite safe".."
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/93793
My to do list is still on paper. You have to go with what works. I've always said being MFC is about having the choice. Plus, there has to be an excuse to buy nice notebooks.
my friend in Thailand appears to be having an internetless holiday and it's freaking me out. How can people cope?
Why is it freaking you out?
because everyone else on Twitter is arranging their Davis Cup tickets and I can't because she's AWOL. She tweeted me yesterday morning to ask for my email address so she could forward me the details but I am yet to get the email. And tickets go on sale on Friday! And I don't want to miss out! Tennis!
Oh that is annoying!
I'm always the ticket buyer for everything we do because I'm Captain Organised so having it out of my hands this time isn't fun :D It's a Tennis Australia presale and I'm not a member so I can't access it :(
Yeah that sucks. I hate not being able to do stuff because I'm waiting for a piece of the puzzle from someone else :(
(I'm not here)
Gavin did you get my email? Not sure I sent it to the right place (new address).
I used a lot of words to basically ask 'Japanese GP weekend'.
I did - sorry I haven't replied yet. That weekend sounds good. Is anyone else keen to pop overt that weekend?
Cool! Should be fun. Will book the flights later then. :) Cheers
I thought you were half meaning me btw, which is why I asked :) :)
got to go again, I don't days when I share an office, no lurking/commenting except over lunch :(
Hehe sorry for not replying earlier. I just emailed you.
Ping --> Blogger Swap Shop post: "Horsepower at Aintree"
http://theformulaoneandmotorsportsarchive.wordpress.com/2011/08/17/guest-post-horsepower-at-aintree/
yay!
it's still says you're the author though?
I don't know how to change that which is why I wrote the intro.
ah-ha!
shall plug it now.
Ooohh thank you sir
:)
I've been looking a lovely filofax books today and my goodness they can be pretty... I have such a strange love for stationary.
As an aside I love that I can make this comment from a coffee shop yay for smart phones :)
It's never too early to start planning tennis (well, it would be before August 1 I guess)
Wimbledon 2012 ballot forms now available for those who want to go and need an Amy prod :D
Absolutely... I have two levels of todo list one which is long term things which is on the computer, and one which is current things which is on paper. Even if I have a long term thing that suddenly comes up it goes onto paper until I get to a convienient time to go back to the computer.
I want to deal with the quickest thing possible to get it down and paper still seems to be that.
However any calendar based still goes on the electronic calendar without fail.
goodness me. How can something possibly be so drawn out and annoying?! They even demand the correct envelope!!
Guess who's back on SPEED!
http://formula-one.speedtv.com/article/f1-peter-windsor-returns-to-speed-f1-team/
What's happened to the FLying Lap recently?
Still going strong. I believe Ricciardo is on it tonight.
Oh, I am so delighted for Windsor that its still going so well.
Of all the day's I forgot to bring tumble weed with me...
Now that Giorgio Pantano is temporarily in IndyCar, how long before a Twitter account is forced upon him?
I'd completely forgotten about it!
I kind of stopped watching after the Jim Clark special. Windsor was doing a four way interview via Skype and it was a painful watch and it wasn't that good, so I decided to keep my Wednesday evenings mostly free.
(Unless someone super mega is on).
And no, I care not if F1 Fanatic is on it...
Sorry, my sarcasm is getting a little rusty.
I knew it was sarcasm. I'm just noting I don't have any additional tumble weed. I kind of blew my stock during the USF1 debacle
No, I knew that you knew it was sarcasm, I was just referring to the fact it was a bit obvious ;)
Good stuff. Anyone for toast?
No wait, scratch that. My USF1 special conked out like a failing Renault last week.
pete's content will sit nicely beside Speed's GMM stories.
Has this quite wonderful F1 2011 trailer been shared? It recreates some famous moments from 2011 so far, very very cool :)
http://www.gamersyde.com/stream_f1_2011_gc_offscreen_trailer-22879_en.html
Also... THE FINGER!!
That said, now I wonder if The Flying Lap will become a SPEED show instead.
amazing!
production quality is too low to show on television. he's recording it in his spare bedroom isn't he?
that would make a mockery of the station
it'll be on the site though, alongside all their other non-newsworthy content.
now that's what seb is talking about!
heh.
:D what i mean is, SPEED will produce it - give him a proper studio and everything.
Um, Wow. I'm gonna buy it, I just hope that it's good eh!
my guess is no. doubt they have any money for f1.
he's probably giving them this for free to give himself a bit more reach. they have windtunnel, why would they want an identical show made by a less talented person?
Honestly reckon they've learnt a lot from last year and what needs to be sorted, got lots of high hopes for it
good point. let's see what they do.
that said. i'm amazed smibs are still in business, so what do i know.
Evening. I just watched the Safety Car video, I love that someone stole one and turned laps while a police car followed it!
I wonder how many laps they did
Enjoy a little something from the Sidepodcast back catalogue.

Hi all. I come bearing clips
First I know you are not all baseball fans yet and the video quality is rubbish but I am sure you will enjoy this.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdYBEJzy-F0&feature=feedrec_grec_index
It's not possible to make a motor bike walk up steps one at at time. Unless you are Dougie Lampkin of course. His control is incredible
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rq9JKTtidA&feature=related
I wondered why they sent a police car on to the track. Why have a car chase when he can't go anywhere?
:D
Nick's crash with the SC in Brazil 2002 would've been perfect here, but he didn't want to include FOM clips lest he get into trouble with FOM.
Especially since the pace car looked to be a faster car.
It would definitely be faster. You also have to wonder why they did not have one of the 100s of race drivers there drive rather than let some cop who had never been on an oval drive
Reflex instinct, I guess. When there's trouble, call the cops.
Me too. I'm just a bit suspicious that they aren't making a demo for it.
This silent dragster will freak you out! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9psoOXNbx2k&feature=youtu.be
So losing engine noise doesn't affect the spectacle according to some people? I bet that car would seem a lot faster and more impressive with a funny car engine dubbed over it
Fantastic
This is what Facebook thinks a face looks like: http://t.co/JMX0svw
It's got worse. It thinks people look like other people now!
Good technical demonstration, not something I'd pay to see though..
Now it thinks a cliff is a face!
Tonight's plan: send off my guest post to AnF1Blog, finish up the TMR results, get dinner, settle in to read all of the swap shop posts!
It's very odd because their IndyCar and ALMS/GrandAM stuff contains some of the best racing journalism around at the moment. I bet they can't afford to send someone to F1 races.
Though they have Cooper
Hope you weren't planning on waiting around for TFL: http://twitter.com/#!/PeterDWindsor/status/103909814542942208

Evening
I'm gonna have to give that another go. Too much info for me earlier!
hello
Hiya.
I see you have a busy night planned Pat
Yeah you could call it exhaustive! He's going through it on MWM now
Hi Gavin
Yep, doing things I ought to have done yesterday. :) I finished writing the guest post late last night and I sent the email earlier.
Just pulling together the results tables from the spreadsheet into the blog post now.
Have you guys read the guest post on Leigh's site... swap shop has been awesome I reckon, lots of good writers out there
Did Mav beat me by much this week?
I reckon. Loved it!
Not yet, I've only read a few so far, will get them all this evening.
I see you are up to about 15 comments on yours Gavin, great response
I thought he would when he outscored you on MotoGP..
oh-oh
Indeed. I think I've struck a chord.
That is the one thing that gets me about blogging is the lack of feedback sometimes, I wonder if I'm wasting my time, maybe I just don't get it
I suppose it depends on the persons reason for blogging, I love to read other peoples posts but I'm never happy with things I write
Ooh I must remember to wish RG and anyone else who's waiting anxiously for exam results tomorrow all the best
Ta. Twiddling thumbs time right now.
good luck!
Are you worried?
I had totally forgotten about that weeks ago
More or less. Not as bad as I'll be next year though.
Have you got ideas for Uni courses all worked out now?
Read and commented. I have load of posts still to read yet
Yeah. Few Open Days to go to in the next few months, slightly glad they moved the Sunderland one away from this Saturday. Quite a big match going on...
Good luck.
You can always Caption this, if you are at a lose end http://www.vivaf1.com/blog/?p=8100
Thanks for this. I was getting withdrawal symptoms! You can only stay on YouTube for so long!
What's "this"? I'm curious
Sky Sports News saying Tony Fernandes has bought QPR, and they have made an immediate bid for Scott Parker.
So much for being a West Ham fan...
Is that good? Surely he should be spending his money getting Lotus further up the grid, it won't help him sell airline seats either will it
I think he is trying to get in Bernie's good books.
Oh the plus side, less Flav on MotD
Flav does quiz shoes? ... or am I just being gullible again?
Match of the day not Question of Sport. Bernie and Flav ownedQPR
Oops! just shows to go you that I don't do football
quiz shoes? honest I've not been drinking
It took me a while to figure that out
It's been a long day
I do like the new theme on RG's site, the pictures and text really stand out on the dark grey background
It is quite nice. I just feel like I need to write a bit more to make it a bit better.
Maybe after you get your results you'll feel like writing some more
I've had the urge its just been a lack of things to talk about...
Anywho: http://northernwaffler.wordpress.com/2011/08/17/dissecting-adebayor/
Ping game scores - http://toomuchracing.com/2011/08/17/tmr-game-2011-week-30/
Ah hehe :D
Heh Jackie it looks like we wrote about the same topic, albeit in a different way
Is your blog post up?
Not yet.
Also on penalties?
Sort of, more on the people behind the decisions rather than what the decisions were.
That'll be great, is there any correlation between who is the steward and the penalty? I had wondered about that but was too lazy to go hunting
Ah, different thing. It's probably a load of waffle but I asked if F1's officials were really as bad as we think sometimes think they are.
I enjoy posts that make you think and challenge your perceptions
that's easy. If they're penalizing drivers I like, then they're TERRIBLE. If they're penalizing drivers I don't like, then they're awesome! :)
well that's an honest view at least
:)
Odd. Emerson Fittipaldi has become Chaiman of Motorsport.com
http://www.motorsport.com/#/business/news/business-emerson-fittipaldi-named-chairman-of-motorsport-com
I thought that was just a GMM type site
It is, with press releases thrown in and a few columns. Perhaps something is slowly changing there after all. Or maybe they need a figurehead to get publicity.
I don't understand why Fittipaldi would associate himself with it. It's not like he needs the job. He is already worth a fortune
as previously discussed, i don't really understand football fans and the we/i/us team thing... from where i'm sitting tony offered to buy in to west ham twice and they turned him down twice.
surely you can blame no-one but west ham?
I was talking about the fact he immediately placed a bid for Scott Parker, who is West Ham's best player.
i think they have a long term plan and money to make it better, they just have no idea how to go about it. with any luck they're drop GMM soon. maybe.
The people who own West Ham don't want to sell. Football is a much more adversarial sport than motor racing because every match it is us against them so as a fan you only can ever see the world from one point of view. Anyone who is seen as ditching a team they have claimed to support for another is guaranteed to get a lot of grief.
oooooooh!
so is he buying west ham one player at a time?
Which makes him even less popular with the West Ham fans.
It's about the same as the situation at Aston Villa where their manager came from their local rivals so before he had picked his first team the majority of the Villa fans hated the Villa manager.
yeah, i don't get that at all. either he's a good manager or a bad one.
You need to be around football for a while. Then it makes perfect sense. If he has a good season though the past will be forgiven and he will be popular. Football fans are fickle. If their team signs a player from their local rivals he is liable to get booed in his first match. If he plays well he becomes one of us and no-one dare criticise him. And if he chooses to leave to go to a much better club for a £20 million transfer and 5 times the wages on his first match back playing for that team he will be told he is a reject who wasn't good enough in the first place. Football comes down to either you are one of us or you are not.
i see it. i just don't get it.
You never will until you have a team that you support seriously.
it doesn't work that way. i'll never support a team seriously because i don't get that "thing" about sport.
same reason i don't support a driver.
I don't get it either, actually its one of the things which turns me off about the game
It's like any other sport. You watch a match and something grabs you and the next thing you know you are a fan.
There is old saying that you don't pick your football team they pick you.
There is nothing like the atmosphere at a competitive football match between two rival teams. It ain't pretty but it is incredible
that hasn't happened to me, ever. trust me, i don't work like that.
same reason i can just give up watching f1 halfway through a season and not miss it.
I've switched on the TV to find others sports and that's happened. Cricket, athletics, cycling, triathlon. NFL to a point.
I know every year at the beginning of football season I want to get involved and I like watching the teams move up and down the tables and being surprised at who is promoted/relegated, but that's a numbers thing. When I sit and watch a game it doesn't usually grab me, and I tried. It does more at international level, probably because I can identify with England and I can't identify with any local team really.
i can get into games, but who i root for changes match-by-match. mostly i support the team with the most people i've heard of.
i think football might be missing a trick, in that i want a football shirt that just says "football". like i have f1 t-shirts that just read "f1". no team, no player, just "football".
do they exist?
You can't get a neutral football shirt. Your baseball shirt isn't neutral. It has a team and a player on it
that's true. but i do have a neutral f1 shirt. strange.
I think there's only so many times I can watch them kick a ball to the other end, then the others kick it back again. Give me a good passing game with shots on goal though and you've got me.
:) I know exactly what you mean.
Can you not get one with Premier League on it?
I think the closest you get to neutral is a national team shirt
i think i finally have an answer to alex's question. whoop!
Dad's team is Man Utd so I follow how they do, and my local big team is Yeovil Town and I like to think of them as 'my' team even though I'm from the county next door (we don't have a big team). I liked it when they played Liverpool in the FA Cup and the BBC guys said Yeovil were the better team, at least in the first half, then in the second Liverpool demolished them but it was fun while it lasted
:)
or World Cup, you should be able to buy one which says World Cup
This is interesting. An FA cup match to be broadcast on facebook
http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/17082011/58/fa-cup-fa-cup-match-shown-facebook.html
Well done
I remember when one of my local teams (ish) was the first game and that was broadcast on the BBC.
Still, not enough to make me use Facebook. Might as well go and watch it live. Better that way.
"potentially millions around the world could be watching"
They won't be though, who around the world cares about teams that small in a preliminary round. :)
*waves* I've been to a few.
Marginally more than were interested before because no-one knew the match was happening before
Evening
Some Europa League Fulham matches are also broadcast on facebook in association with Daily Motion. So this isn't a first!
I had no idea matches were broadcast on facebook
Only started this season, doesn't make any difference to me! I go to the matches anyway!
Evening folks
bud seems to have a crazy following on facebook. i think people will watch just to support the drink.
Not impressed. Brian Barnhart has pretty much asked his mates to be on the "independent" appeal board regarding the IndyCar result protest.
Not a good look.
Sounds like Max's independent panel who agreed the commercial rights deal
USAC, bad idea.
Yep - the panel is Jerry Gappens (race promoter and former CART / IndyCar pit reporter), Rollie Helmling (former USAC president and team owner) and Jeff Stoops (USAC chairman and IndyCar team sponsor).
Gah...
Gappens should be banned for his comments after the race. Actually he should be banned because he was promoting that race. Then he should be banned because he has already expressed an opinion on what happened.
FIX
Gavin has a lot to answer for since he got me to try facebook poker. They have some of the worst poker players in the world playing all the time. There are an amazing number who only have a few thousand chips but at one time had 5 million. I have just found a new record breaker though. His highest ever chip count was 50 million + but now he has 20 thousand. It just shouldn't be possible to lose that many chips
They may try to bury this...
:/
Ho-Pin Tung finally making his IndyCar debut at Sonoma next week with Jay Penske / Dragon Racing
Evening folks. Presenting Ho-Pin Tung! Response by mainstream US populace: "He's a race driver? How can that be? He doesn't look or sound Dale Jr." [sarcasm]
