We're heading into the weekend now, so it's about time you told us what you're up to. I'm writing this at 2am on the morning of the daily post, with a little rosé under my belt. No doubt I'll be asleep by the time you read this. Nevertheless, here's what's happening in F1 at the moment:
- The FIA and FOTA couldn't come to an agreement, so the teams have been sent away to think about what they can do to avoid the budget caps. It wasn't a positive outcome for FOTA today, but at least it wasn't a positive no for them. They at least have the opportunity of coming up with a new idea... whatever that might be.
- Jochen Rindt is going to have an opera written about him and his racing life. I don't know of any other racing drivers who would have their lives immortalised in the libretto, but this might be a good trend for the future.
- We discussed the Hamiltonometer extensively yesterday, but today it is swinging downwards, as young Lewis is exasperated by the politics surrounding F1 right now. Aren't we all? He said he feels knocked about by it all, which is understandable, and unfortunately, only looks set to get worse.
That'll do it for now. It's the weekend, so let us know if you're doing anything exciting, or if you aren't. Either way, I'll see you in the comments.
i think the meeting was more positive for fota than it was for max or bernie.
also, a repost on today's thread for pat's weekend preview.
ooh, ta
http://blogs.smh.com.au/sport/Schu.jpg
i'm gonna make a prediction. and in approx, 7hrs we'll see how accurate this turns out to be...
i predict that christine will wake up with a massive hangover in the morning. massive.
run for your life
Shame
Could be longer than 7hrs then.
:)
I would make a bloody mary right now and give it to her in the morning.
Quiet here
off to buy cake ingredients. I can't make a decision between what cake to make so might have to make 2 :D
If in dount make chocloate something
doubt
This keyboard hates me
Chocolate with chocolate chips?
Sounds like a good start
Or you can make a white cake and put some dried berries in it like strawberries and blueberries. I always make that when I have to make a cake for someone.
I"m tossing up between a white chocolate and raspberry cake or a chocolate/coffee cake. Both are good. Both meet your suggestions ;)
I am not a big coffee fan so white choc and raspberry wins
To start the conversation...
I am actually catching up on all the news. A few thoughts.
- A year wouldn't be a year in Formula One if Ferrari didn't threaten to quit.
- What is the over / under on the number of subpoena Brussels will issue against the FIA and FOM for "Ferrari' golden veto?" I put it at 198. There are so many thing that are illegal with this... false pretenses, embezzlement, extortion...
- Speaking of the Ferrari' golden veto... I think this would backfire on Max and Bernie. If I was the teams, I would be angry with FOM and FIA for obvious bias instead of Ferrari for taking a deal which any of them would dream of.
- I think Ferrari forgets that they need F1 as much as F1 needs Ferrari. Without their F1 team, the myth of Ferrari is broken. They would be abandoning their greatest advertising tool and millions of fans of the team. Without the F1 team, what would make Ferrari different than Lambo or even Lotus?
- Max seems to have a short memory. What is going to stop the United States, Germany, and the other automotive associations from using this as leverage and bring out the knives against Max again?
I think Bernie has had too much surger this season.
He has made such sweeping changes for 2009 then is taking it another step in 2010.
It is getting out of control!
Actually, I think he has positioned himself beautifully on this one. Instead of Max and the teams going after FOM, CVC, and Bernie for sucking the sport dry; they are going after each other. Max and the teams are fighting over scraps in the grand scheme of things.
> A year wouldn’t be a year in
> Formula One if Ferrari didn’t
> threaten to quit.
Maybe so, but it would be OK with me if they meant it this time. I usually admire Bernie for his manipulations, but can't understand why Mosley is being permitted to interfere with our sport so clumsily... Unless he's doing so as Bernie's proxy.
Four more teams would do a lot for my enjoyment of the sport. In the last minutes of the Indianapolis debacle in 2005, Blundell said something horrifying: "The worst problem we've got? A thousand miles away on the other coast of the US or nearby there is a NASCAR race going on, and there's forty-three cars still running."
> Ferrari forgets that they need
> F1 as much as F1 needs Ferrari.
You sure? Most guys who buy Ferraris aren't thinking they're Felipe Massa... Ferrari ownership is just a typical expression of great wealth, with a little youth-love and testosterone mixed in.
> what would make Ferrari
> different than Lambo or
> even Lotus?
A dealer network, as well as a high peg on the food chain of tradition... 60 years of competition may be enough to sustain the brand for the next 40 years. Maybe the golden age is over. (Have you noticed –or will you notice next weekend– that Monoco looks freaking ridiculous with all those Armco barriers in the streets? I'd rather be there than anywhere else in the world, including where I'll actually be... But does that have anything to do with making playthings for rich guys?
> What is going to stop the United States,
> Germany, and the other automotive
> associations from using this as leverage
> and bring out the knives against Max
Hopefully nothing! The FIA should basically be a small instrument to prevent cheating and keep the sport safe. Otherwise, this is Bernie's planet, right? And he's doing what it takes to make us love it.
(I think KERS is a wonderful example! Exhibit [A]: When Kimi goes for an extra serving of ice cream during a torrential, short-circuiting flood, people forget that he was almost choked to death on chemical fumes from his KERS system 27 hours earlier. Fun drama! Exhibit [B]: In Catalunya, Sebastian Vettel was kept off the podium in a lesser performing car with KERS. Maybe Vettel can't pass! [At least, not like Webber did Alonso.] Wouldn't you want to know that? Isn't this, what we want, technologies that expose and challenge human weakness?)
> I think he has positioned himself
> beautifully on this one.
Agree completely! Did you see the short BBC i'view after the Friday meetings? He was cool as a cucumber. "Let the other guys fight this one out...."
----
PS- I loves me some Lewis, but having some stains on this ethical record has made him a much more interesting personality. Adulthood is like that, and at least he didn't have to park in Rascasse to make it happen.
That should be BY a lesser performing car... It's Cabernet hour in Los Angeles, friends....
cake is in the oven. this is about where it all usually starts to go wrong when i bake.
Ferrari are like marmite, you either love 'em or you hate 'em I don't love 'em. But to race in F1 without Ferrari would be like the premiership without Man Utd or the NFL in the 80's and 90's without 49er's,n dolphins etc or the world cup without brazil, they unfortunately have to stay in F1, coz to be the best you have to beat the best and they do have that pedigree, I'm afraid to say. Fingers crossed for your cake Amy.
this time cake in oven was a success, it all went horribly wrong at the 'getting cake out of caketin' stage however.
Good morning peeps :)
very quiet here today :-)
No F1 news expect for the damn budget cap. Dixon topped Indy 500 practice despite a brick coming loose on the start/finish straight and stopping the session.
because Dixon is awesommmmmmme
oh and a loose brick? that sounds super dangerous!
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/formula_1/article6296972.ece
that is the article where Bernie calls Ferrari idiots ... for not take action earlier
Morning all. What cake did you bake, Amy?
white chocolate and raspberry, it fell to pieces so we put custard on it and called it pudding.
hows the hangover?
Mr C's in trouble now... :D
It can't be too bad, cos the cake sounds delicious :)
Righto... had a great night last night with my ex-bosses (who offered me a job on the spot) and we drank beer in Nyhavn and went for dinner ... then I went to my mate's for a poker game which was lots of fun. They were all asking me why Ferrari were pulling out of F1 too...
Got home late, slept until 11, had a haircut by a cute but vicious Vietnamese lady, now I have Danish and coffee and I'll watch the MotoGP from two weeks ago...
Tonight I shall see Angels and Demons and at some point watch the EuroVision. Go Ukraine!
I just saw the Denmark guy on the semifinal, he was rubbish and I said to my flatmate 'why does this sound like a Ronan Keating song' and then the commentators said Ronan Keating wrote it.
Did you enjoy being surrounded by 'proper' Kiwi accents again?
Sounds like an excellent weekend so far! Angels and Demons looks good. The book was ace.
What's he done now? Haven't looked over last nights comments yet.
Yeah Denmark takes Eurovision way too seriously and always have a rubbish song - there were heaps better finalists IMO...
Yeah it was loads of fun - we spun some good yarns, cracked some good jokes... it was great o catch up with them again...
Mooorning all, just woken up :) feel rather rough though :( it'll pass :D
how is everyone?
Morning Jon, hope you feel better soon.
Ahem:
http://www.racingeagles.com/2009/05/bring-back-long-beach-to-formula-one.html
Great post from Dan about why F1 should return to Long Beach...
thank ye, i get it everyday so i'm used to it by now :)
if you want to see how it feels to sit in the car with Michael Schumacher, here is the onboard video from my ride:
http://www.f1wolf.com/2009/05/my-ride-with-michael-schumacher-onboard-video.html
I do so hope you're right me.
Ah, I see. I wouldn't say massive. Just a headache.
i told you thats cool on twitter, but here i shall ask the questions :D do the people running that film it then give it to you? the multiple camera angles are great.
what an awesome thing to have, and it's pretty awesome to watch how he drives too.
yes, they gave it to me about 2 mins after the ride :-)
Dude, that was amazing! He's still got fantastic car control and he gave you a really cool ride round an evil looking circuit!
My dad's been there and driven round Ascari Race Resort :D
yes, it was amazing, at times I thought they forgot to tell him there are also corners on that track :-)
i would have got 'seasick' as he puts it :D
I was not getting seasick but after few corners I realized it may be good idea to hold on to something. the traditional seatbelt is not exactly designed for cars driven by people like him :-)
Dixon topped Indy 500 practice despite a brick coming loose on the start/finish straight and stopping the session. {Comment #29}
Eek! That sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. I assume from the wording that the session was stopped before anyone crashed into said brick.
Unfortunately not. Mario Moraes made contact with it. Apparently it didn't cause "extensive damage" but it left a hole in the circuit so they had to stop the session.
I was actually surprised by that - I would have thought they would have to had put better seats in!
that is the article where Bernie calls Ferrari idiots … for not take action earlier {Comment #32}
How could they take action earlier? The problem wasn't known until a couple of weeks ago and it's probably taken this long to figure out how to get past Max's illogical attitude without having their efforts rebuffed.
No you've got it wrong - A. Brick is a driver and he had handling problems which caused the back end to slide out on the start/finish straight ;)
We all know who the real idiots are anyway!
:D
Unfortunately not. Mario Moraes made contact with it. Apparently it didn’t cause “extensive damage” but it left a hole in the circuit so they had to stop the session. {Comment #59}
This is the sort of thing I'd expect to happen in Shanghai, not Indianapolis...
Peace and quiet for a week!
YAY!
Ah but when you do wear proper 4/5/6 point harness's it tends to effect the joints that it hasnt pinned down...i.e your neck
I think what he means may be that Ferrari should use their veto right away at the WMSC meeting ...
the BMWs that let us drive had proper tight racing seatbelts, and the instructors were all geared up in overalls, gloves and helmets. you can see how Schumacher was dressed - jeans, white Bacardi branded shirt - and he made it all look like a summer leisure drive :-)
The regulations were passed by the WMSC without any of the teams being present from what I gather. If was effectively sneaked through while none of the teams were paying attention after everything else had been dealth with.
The 'Liegate' hearing was happening at the same time, I think.
here is what Mosley said on that, referring to another meeting:
there is an interesting piece at Pitpass on the fact, that under European law FIA should not write F1 regulations. The only reason they have been doing it is that teams allowed them too.
Interesting. Then again, it's Pitpass...
Surely that would have just veto'd the proposals at that point?
The ones that came through were different to the proposals.
I'm watching Abba: The Movie. All I can think is "Nick Heidfeld"
My first thought would be "Why am I watching Abba: The Movie" ;)
Is this Eurovision warm-up?
its Eurovision night on TV here! I have given up on the movie though, turns out it had no plot. Who would've thought!
They made a movie?
*adds to list of films to avoid...*
I'm outa here!
Girlies down the hall have invited me out for 'fun and frolics' *their words - not mine!* as the other half is on holiday for a week - Off for a day in the sun at Duxford.
I think what he means may be that Ferrari should use their veto right away at the WMSC meeting … {Comment #68}
Which would have been absolutely no help. Unless Max can prove that Ferrari did not vote against the proposal* (which would be difficult because the ballots are meant to be secret) he cannot prove that Ferrari did not in fact veto the proposal there and then. It's not as if Ferrari are claiming they have to indicate veto in a specific manner.
* - If Ferrari were not there, they could not have vetoed the proposal. However, they also could not have been consulted on the matter, thus negating the validity of the FIA's position.
Besides, there is still the point that the SWG and TWG were circumvented, which the FIA cannot do under Appendix 5 of the Sporting Regulations. As one of the teams, Ferrari were in their rights to declare that this had not been followed at any time prior to the rule taking effect.
If Ferrari had really wanted to be awkward it could have waited until the end of 2009 to do this, which would still have been legal but resulted in every team having thrown a lot of money away for nothing.
The ‘Liegate’ hearing was happening at the same time, I think. {Comment #71}
The hearing was supposed to have ended immediately before the WMSC meeting was held. Of course, I can't guarantee this actually happened...
Max Mosley has apparently backed down on giving the cost-capped teams a technical advantage. He seems to think that this will in turn make the teams fall in line with budget-capping proposals.
He doesn't appear to have worked out that this has taken away the one incentive the established teams had to agree in the first place!
He's also trying to tell people that taxpayers are indirectly paying for F1, which is a good way of getting people generally anti-F1 without actually encouraging anyone to spend less money. After all, the governments are mostly giving this money out for cheap, clean transport, not racing per se.
I don't know about anywhere else, but taxpayers here only pay for Bernie's ridiculous charges to host the race in the first place.
Bernie dosen't talk about it much but the British Government don't help with F1, but like i say, he dosent say it much ;)
Government assistance leads to stories like http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,27574,25107151-2862,00.html
and this leads to non-F1 fans hating the race even more than they otherwise would, which leads to me copping abuse from people I know simply because I enjoy the sport.
out of interest, does bernie do anything for charity?
ever?
im here he must do, ill look it up
i know that tara does.
and i guess bernie gave money to tony blair. which was somewhat... err. charitable.
he waved the flag at a charity race?
s'all i can find
not that he talks about, and I don't think hes the sort of person who would keep it quiet.
Might have given a fiver to Children in Need?
Hi all.
people ought remind him that you can't take it with you.
he has two of them.
i remind my dad of that a lot ;)
Haha ;)
I am still Red Bulletin back-issue trawling - here are some quotes from the USA GP 2005. The first one is still true 4 years later, and the second is still hilarious.
http://drop.io/sidepodcast/asset/usa-quotes-2005-jpg
WOW!
I don’t know about anywhere else, but taxpayers here only pay for Bernie’s ridiculous charges to host the race in the first place. {Comment #84}
They do, but the UK government owns most of RBS, which has the $2.9bn loan to CVC. This loan was made specifically for F1 to be bought. If the British taxpayer put enough demand on the government, it could theoretically be forced to tell RBS to call in that loan on pain of losing votes (and the current government needs every vote it can get). Should that loan be called in, the F1 arm of CVC collapses, the series is destroyed and RBS possibly gets a few hundred million to start paying back the government for the buyout.
In addition, there are indirect grants being issued by various governments, including the UK, to manufacturers to aid in the production of a new generation of green vehicles. While none of that money should enter racing in theory, accountancy means it will be difficult to know in practise.
The upside is that only British payers who go to the British Grand Prix are asked to pay for the British GP itself (the rest, so far, have only been asked to pay for a A43 bypass which much of the Silverstone traffic uses on race weekends).
out of interest, does bernie do anything for charity? {Comment #87}
He does - generally by buying really expensive stuff at charity auctions that occur from time to time during the Grand Prix season. Admittedly, he tends to get overshadowed by the even more expensive tastes of some of his fellow squillionaires, but he does give quite a bit away, and not necessarily quietly.
*cough*
http://drop.io/sidepodcast/asset/dc-tries-to-get-amy-to-like-him-jpg
Just listening to Queen's "The Show Must Go On" on Spotify and it's made me think - there should be a sample of that for when shows start to go a bit wrong, like for instance if someone gets disconnected from a Skype call or something. You just play a sample of Freddie shouting "SHOW MUST GO OOOOOOOOOOOOON!" and carry on. :D
Yep, it's a Saturday and I'm bored :D
ahaah
i'm having fun with these quotes, lots of them are quite fitting in 2009, so I'm drop.ioing them :)
nice one.
i'm liking that back in 2005 there was no crying, bellyaching or whinging coming from a certain lewis hamilton.
ahh, nostalgia.
...And Fisichella was still "Very 'appy"!
i'm sure i can trawl the 2007 archives if you want ;)
I'm looking at stuff I can't afford to go to and will possibly won't go to, but pretending I can.
is that what this was? ;)
http://drop.io/sidepodcast/asset/fisi-05-jpg
rather you didn't.
Playing second fiddle to Alonso, instead of now playing second fiddle to Sutil
oh how thigns change
anyoby watched this interview with Mosley ?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/motorsport/formula_one/8052848.stm
oooh, thanks, havent seen that before
Just a few things after listening....
Max thinks that the teams haven't started thinking about 2010 cars yet and apparently Toyota tried to get everyone to walk out...and failed
well and he confirmed that at least they agreed there will not be two tier championship, Bernie said the same in the interview he gave, so probably that may be true:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/motorsport/formula_one/8052680.stm
Does Bernie do anything for charity?
Yes, last year he helped Simon, a poor man down on his luck, turn his dream into a reality.
That man is now trying to turn Donington into next years British GP. All he needs now is a couple of million quid, and he's laughing. At us.
:D
:D
I wonder what happens if Max announces 4 new teams for 2010 in June?
we know who our new backmarkers are :D
f1 fans will be denied the chance of following one the teams they've likely supported for years.
just so max can score some points.
and the new teams wont ;)
hehe.
What about torro rosso? the FIA seem to be keen to get rid of the customer cars, I cant see the rest of FOTA being happy with red bull if they get 2 teams and someone has to miss out
I know it's way up the comments, but I can't see Ferrari leaving F1.
They look stupid for saying such a thing. All they needed to do was say that they disagreed with the budget cap proposals, and would discuss matters further in the next meeting. Instead, they've created shock headlines to try and strongarm their terms into the mix.
toro rosso are getting ready to build their own car for next season
thus far it doesn't look like redbull are interesting in signing.
i cant remember what, but in my head i seem to remember Torro Rosso having to make their own cars for 2010, but i'm likely to be wrong
i think they could. i don't think they want to, but i can see luca might be sick of being pushed around by max.
I do wonder how many teams have genuine problem with FIA (like Ferrari) and how many are taking all this chaos as a good excuse to bow out of F1 ...
given how many new teams want "in" right now. i'd be surprised if any really want to leave.
honda were the exception, but they built a lemon of an engine that was screwed because of max's homologation rules. they needed to get out. i don't think anyone else would follow in the same manner.
They say they are, but with all the added costs of doing that, and the possibility on missing out of prise money if someone like USF1 is able to break into the top 10 Torro Rosso begins to look like an expensive accessory. I cant see Mateschitz carrying on with them for much longer. Hopefully they can find a way of becoming MInardi again or another partner to take them forward
What happened to Honda's engine division? If they can turn a profit from the new engine supply rules and get their name out there for it as well, could they come back as a supplier?
they don't seem equipped to deal with standardised engines. they used to excel at making one-off race specials and uber qualifying engines.
i can't see why you'd want to enter f1 solely as an engine manufacturer when the people in charge ensure that it's a zero-competition area :(
You're not wrong. This is the last season they chassis from Red Bull.
if f1 dies i'll have to try and become as obsessed about tennis as i am about f1, and then my sleep will be even worse because tennis is far more frequent, and goes far later.
Yeah, but it seems a shame that there is a factory for building race engines not building them. They also supply for the IRL... which is really zero-competition!
My favourite news story of the week, how very random...
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/8053596.stm
they're making the chassis this year i think. next year they have to design one too.
ahh, good point. forgot that.
seems there is very little opportunity to compete in the power stakes these days.
Afternoon all. Just working my way through, sounds like Gavin's having an excellent weekend.
Hi Pat. Am now very tired.
Those engines are made in California.
Err, I think they are anyway. Somewhere in the US for sure.
What did you do to be tired?
I've been productive today. Feels great!
Wandered downt town, had a haircut, met Mum, wandered home and vaccuumed the old car and the flat. About to take some pics of the old car so I can sell it.
May have over celebrated a goal.
Oh BTW don't miss this one: Tonight 7pm BBC Four is a programme about Shelby vs Ferrari at Le Mans in the 60s and 70s. It'll be ace.
Ah.
WOW, that is productive.
I'm designing my post-exam project....
I'm going to make a boat with a sail and everything :D
I may be thinking of Toyota Racing Developments which is near Long Beach.
or i could be confused
Some info on it here, interestingly they appear to use a Mclaren ECU
http://racing.honda.com/about/engine.aspx
Sounds like a lot of work?
Ahh, thanks.
Will take a few pics of the car and get a cup of tea, back shortly.
Sail = Tarpaulin
Boat = less boatish....more 2 big floats connected with a mast.....
think this but better ;)
http://www.instructables.com/id/One-Day-Ndrua/
Bit more digging, and it is California http://racing.honda.com/hpd/?section=intro
I guess it still means their is an F1 engine factory not doing much.
Catamaran on a budget
you could make a dinghy, call her dignity.
Goooooooooood evening.
Hey Lukeh, what's up?
Not much. Despite working the same Saturday shift for months and months, it still continues to absolutely slap the exhuastion out of me. Mainly because a lot of the younger staff that work Saturdays don't do very much and I do a stupid amount to make up for them, but still... just glad to be home. :D
evening
evening all. ESC in 2 hours and 13 minutes....
I never thought I'd see the day where this daily is tagged with the word Opera!
sounds great Jon!
ooh and I have Green Days new album to listen to, yay! Strange for it to come out on a friday...
I thought I was about to see Nadal lose a tennis match for once but noooo its going to a 3rd set so I'm going to give up on it, sleep for a couple of hours, and find out who won when I wake up for Madrid semi-final número dos, and Eurovision :D
Have a nice nap:) The swiss TV network tonight is in a jam - they can only show Federer for one hour before Eurovision starts. the swiss song lost out in the semi final. pity, it wasn't too bad, but not good either.
Could be a good name for a new team... Plenty of media puns to play with surely...
The Opera's are on song... The opera looks to be out of tune...
Hey guys.
Going to bed now, but my parting shot: Star. Trek. ROCKS.
Good night. :D
...supported by less than 0.7% of the audience who still tends to follow the teams that F1 came installed with, eg Ferrari.
Hello and Goodbye :) and thanks for the quick review...
Right, must see it!
Hi and bye :-)
Very true, but i do miss the loveable hapless backmarkers pulling the occasional suprise.
Night Journeyer. It rocks twice as big in IMAX!
what an exit. :P
just listening to a few songs online. have you listening to it all yet? how long does it go for? When i saw them 13 years ago (ooh i sound old) i remember thinking they could play all their material and we'd all be home in 90 minutes. Great band :)
I'm not very far through yet, and i'm interested because im not a fan of american idiot but I do love their older stuff (especially the majority of international superhits) so I'm intruiged if I'll like this. so far so good, viva la gloria especially!
lovely pic from @patronhighcroft of their car in practice in Utah: http://twitpic.com/5afmy
oooh, mountainy
That circuit looks amazing...
Anyone know if its on GT5?
Not that I know of.
Haven't a clue.
I know I recommended a good doco on BBC4 shortly, but I need a real racing fix rather than talkies. So I'm recording that and am watching '08 Macau F3.
I'm up to some GT racing on Race Pro. Got a GT Pro race at Macau in a Saleen now.
How is it to drive? The GTs must be a bit too big for it?
I'm really really confused... on this album is a Hives song, or at least, the biggest ripoff I've ever heard.... but it's not a cover? But it's basically carbon copy with a different chorus...
*mind explodes* :(
Very, very twisty. The high speed section is great if you can take the Manadrin Hotel kink flat. The winding sections in the hills of the city, however, are quite complicated. But I can get a clean lap in anyways. GTs can be quite a handful and a bit clumsy, though.
It's also bumpy - VERY bumpy.
Very challenging!
Tell me about it - just blew the engine under braking for Lisboa.
Ouch.
If its any help all the F3 guys are on very low downforce for the top speed on the quick bits, and living with the lack of it in the twisties..
That was a good listen. :)
Surprising at times for not the best of reasons... but good. Green Day's older stuff is still so much better though.
Thanks for the review. Now you've listened to Green Day, you're all set for Eurovision ;)
Hehe, bring on the cheese! :P
The not the best of reasons thing is because I can hear several other bands in some of the tracks - Weezer, The Hives, Stone Roses... and I don't mean influencially, I mean, I actually can hear the same song as said bands have created... which is very lazy. But enough on that now :D
eurovision!
Oops, John Barrowman then the eurovision. As if the night could get any cheesier :P
As brilliant as he is in Dr Who and Torchwood, his BBC1 shows are very... hmm.
Just put one over on a load of idiots who pushed me off twice on the first lap in a WTCC race at Laguna. Fought back from 8th and last to 3rd and passed 3rd and 4th at the last corner after they'd hit each other :D
WTCC race at Laguna?? They SO should do that!
so who like me has not seen any of the eurovision entries until tonight?
I havent even seen ours.
I haven't
But does not caring, count too? ;)
Today I went to the Westfield Shopping Centre in W. London
Apparently it's the largest in Europe
Shhhhhhhhh! :P
I saw a very short clip of ours, haven't seen any of the others. Better put my pizza in the oven.
Saw the SF2 ones, apart from that, no.
Hey everyone
not seen a single one. tbh i'm already thinking today isn't going to be as fun as it usually is, there is no Terry :(
I was most impressed with the car park which had LED indications at each aisle telling you how many spaces were available, as well as Green or Red lights above each space so you could tell from a distance where the free spots were!
it'll be wierd without terry's comments, as the evening goes on, the worse he gets with his patience with people :P
i watched the semis. i will not ruin any surprises...
Agreed. There's a danger of taking it too seriously.
Excellent idea!
ooh. them fighting words.
ESC will be here
http://www.justin.tv/dragonblades2
not likely!
No, apart from the fact I liked the Polish entry
*gets comfy* :D
I wonder if the red button has an onboard graham cam...
if i had a phone that could take mp3 ringtones, i'd put the theme music on it :)
The title music is 10 seconds in and I wonder what the hell I'm doing watching this sober. Time for a beer.
ergh, i hate graham norton's voice...
Well, if everyone is going to watch it, I guess we can put it on.
Grudgingly. Just so we know what y'all are on about.
I cant believe they have done away with the best part... Totally partisan voting
Is there one to tell him to shut the hell up?
That was me, by the way, not him.
Don't do it!!!!
Yeah I'm not sure what it's going to be like. It might even be unpredictable. Where's the fun in that :)
I love these acts they always do, as I never know whats going on
Ah, makes a little more sense - just ;)
that's just getting confusing now.
We have just watched hours and hours of LOST so something mindless is probably a good idea.
I still reckon the Finnish judges will vote for Sweden, the Ukrainian ones vote for Russia and the Croatian judges vote for Greece.
Is there a 5Live option here?
I was disappointed by the season finale
I tell you what if Russia is like this all day I wanna visit
Stop right there.
I already have
Fair point. I kind of hope so. Eurovision is popular because it has the block voting. Are we going to now stop voting for Idol/Popstars shows if a singer comes from a large state with more supporters? It's a dictatorship now and I'm not happy.
Hmm nice suitcase..
The set is pretty impressive..
Then screaming balloon kid ruins it...
Uhhhh the coat got stuck! XD
I've seen bits of ours. It's OK. But we still ain't gonna win it, even though when it comes to the points you keep shouting "Give us some points!"
Oh wait, that's just me... :D
i just caught myself tapping my foot :)
I have put a bet with a friend we'll get 0.
I'm the same person who has one on West Brom staying up and BMW winning a race. So y'know.
How come we got a slowmo of him trying to run through polestyrene and hot attempting to take a coat off on a treadmill? I was very impressed by that
Would you please welcome Dr Death and the Tooth Fairy....
30 million euros for a song contest?
ahh comments like that make me miss sir terry :P
Better than the semi finals though
Aah French - apart from the Olympics, this is the only time you see it as an official language of anything.
The semifinal hosts were better :)
How orange can one person get....
Can Graham please just shut up when the hosts are talking in English?
He has to be really careful with voting on the BBC after recent efforts. In the semi's on thursday when the UK could not vote they really really highlighted the fact - you might get charged and your call would be useless.
i knew people at school who took the fake tan a bit too much.
Bah, needs more lithuanian guys screaming they are the winners :(
:) who says they don't. maybe they'll come out of the piano....
#
Well the piano is still playing, so hopefully!
Honest opinion - that was quite good :)
they have a key change in the song - so i give them 1 point.
no costume changes either.
flame in the hand - 2 points for that.
I wonder how he convinced himself that the hat was a good idea... or the song for that matter!
What are the house policies about starting flamewars in the forum ;)
By Eurovision standards it was. You have to sort of refocus your entire perception of music for this night. :-)
Lukeh was listening to green day 20 minutes ago. Not sure if that was the best preparation.
I prepared by not listening to any music whatsoever.
I can cleanse myself later with some Biffy (older stuff, not crappy newer stuff) or something.
Wow, they're using bins as drums!
They prepared by eating biscuits.
That was too drab for my liking...
ahh France, you will never reach your standards of last year. Watching a man looking like Jesus stroll into the arena on a golf cart with a globe was a wonderful sight
paint by numbers!
yep, but you can now press the red button people!
;)
I've just discovered they release all the songs on an album... Is that usual? What would anyone do with it?
budgie cap negotiations
Yeah the CD has been out every year for at least the last 5 or so. I think it's the gift you give someone who has everything.
oooh she can dance...still a really bori....french...song.
That was dire. :/
my god it's going to be a loooong evening
Thing is, why would you want to buy it?!
Yeah, leave your dignity at the door :)
Swedens entry
Europop? Check
Blonde hair? Check
Blue eyes? Check
Lets goo!
starting to scare me now..
Pet Shop Boys mask= Check.
Always is!
that was a bit mad
Give it to the person you hate the most.
Its more worthless than socks
Okay so this is the plan. Pizza+beer. Eurovision one screen, Indy quals on the PC screen.
*sigh* if only i'd not watched the programs on iplayer earlier i would have something else to watch.
what just happened?
Can anyone else spell melodramatic?
Try the wall ;) As long as I get some costume changes tonight, I'll be content. my life will be 2 hours shorter however...
I'm not watching, I'm listening.. Eyes are on Indy500 live timing, comments and tweetdeck - ears on Eurovision.
I think if you sit and watch it directly it may send you mad.
i think perhaps the wrong combination
Wait, why is this actually good? I'm really liking this so far...
You may be right.
The floor's gone all green and has flowers on it!
me too. it's the first uptempo "happy" vibe song.
I ;like how colourful it looks and sounds considering everything so far as been dark and down
Fact from someone who is covering it, the only country to use yellow on the lcd screens
Iceland should just enter sigur ros ;)
possibly the most bizarre fact in these forums...
she's talented....
they should, but if they don't win then that wouldn't be too good for them..
I think once you have credibility you tend to stay well away from these...
true true, plus sigur ros are far too good to be involved in this level of music. ;)
They shouldn't be anywhere near it!
winner?
Is it ok to be liking the Icelandic entry?
I like the visuals in the background, but I found that song very dull
Here we go, the intresting ones.
Oh wow.
That's Chico! :P
It wasn't too bad. Now, Greece is...
we're agreeing again. stop it at once. i htink it helps that we heard the song already - but i wonder if i wasn't starting at her, if the same effect would be present.
Here's one for the ladies.
O.O i'm going to make a cup of tea, he scares me a little....
Hmm, yeah, the staring factor.
not your type? but this is Your Night!
This annoys me SO much.
key change!
i'm sorry were you saying something...
Don't worry, he'll be gone by the time you get back.
It's a giant Greek stapler!
The big advantage of Eurovision is that each song is over so quicky.
Haha. Possibly the only person in the world I may prefer over Timo Glock
Some years, there have been three or four - at my parties in Oz we'd keep track of key changes and costume changes. i think one of the L countries once had 6 costumes.
Oh god, this can only go well...
:)
This is not good.
Not good's a god damn understatement.
Ohhh there's 2 of them. I thought it was a mirror
i return and scary man has gone... and been replaced by another strange song...
Did you not hear the word sisters?
Armenia is in Europe? Although i suppose Israel isnt either...
:D
another key change!
but with those lasers, i'm hoping for one of them to do a Catherine Zeta Jones impersonation....
We're supposed to listen to graham now?
were there two in 10 seconds?
It's probably on the European side of Russia.
and then there's the Turkey issue.
you could go out and come back for about 14 more times and it would be the same story
I suppose if you can't see this woman the first time, there's another 67 screens to show her
i can tell i'm going to be making many more cups of tea tonight.
it may be the only way to surivie still with sanity :D
*survive
This is not pretty, in more ways than one.
This isn't supposed to be catchy, stop it.
OK I'm terrified. I'll admit it.
My god, that's a flexible leg.
Azerbaijan and Armenia sit next Georgia, between Russia and Turkey.
Just noticed Mr Roy is keeping a low profile tonight. :-)
Apparently the Azerbaijan entry reminds a BBC Radio person of LewHam ans THAT WOMAN. :)
Evening all. Live commenting Eurovision :D
I imagine him rocking out to these songs
catchy but no.
the song, not the leg.
Indeed. It's not going well. Eurovision that is, not the live commenting.
Gah! I'm surrounded
[backs away quietly]
Oh you just know this is gonna be bad.
evening Andy.
welcome to the ... aah don't know what to call it...
Talk about something else and see if it takes :-)
Usless fact of the Eurovision. Band translated into english means 'Queen'. So where on earth is the 'We are the champions then'
Evening...
Eurovision? Really?
Why does this reminds me of les miserables...
It is.
Better than talking about budget caps.
Really. You just missed the LewHam lookalike.
we are the winners was 2 or 3 years ago :)
Who? What?
Just switched on ,y computer for the first time today to find my name mentioned.
wow, Russia is completely bonkers!
Or budgie caps?
Is this the red army musical review now?!
love the taxi driver!
the italian paper on friday carried a story about how it's going to be forbidden to give vodka to minors. such a shame,.
thought the song was my heart will go on for a second there..
Bit of a Queen theme going on here - Moldova's entry is "Miracle"
um. riiight.
It's not as if Moldova are even trying to get rid of an eastern european stereotype, so fair play to them.
Do the Eurovision entries have tocomply with a budgie cap?
Now thats what Eurovision songs should produce when talking about it. Therefore this is a good song, Eurovision standards
Back to the F1 - anyone see Clarkson's column in the Sun today?
"some F1 drivers are there because their dads pay for them to be in a team, others are there because their dads like being on TV" or something like that :)
kind of - you have to spend enough to make your country look good, but not enough to win it because then you have to pay for the hosting role next year.
Absolutely :-)
f1. Whats that?
ahem.
This is the main reason Ireland have won so many times.
Why would anyone read the Sun or Clarkson?
I agree with you on the Sun, but Clarkson's a legend!
it was worth it for the line about drivers' dads
Why? Do you think that Russia is on Bernies list of 'contenders'?
Silly question, of course they are... its just a question of which Oligarch will pay the most for the circuit.... wonder if he's got his daughter sizing up suitable candidates based on how much their wives and mistresses spend on couture?
i knew someone who maintains that when ireland put up such a rubbish song it was deliberately to really really make sure they wouldn't host.
oooh two key changes...
So steven has been around :P lol Clarkson's books are ok. i've read a few.
Yup... Its officially the reason for the puppet that year :-)
The russian for Gagarin is Gagarin. Good stuff.
Me too, they're quite funny :D
someone just took over Doctorvee's tweetdeck while he went to the loo :-)
Definitely not repostable here.
I've switched to Britain's Got Talent. Something that will ACTUALLY entertain me :P
Clarkson on TV is good but some of his writing is obscene. There used to be a monthly F1 magazine he did the inside back page of and the letters page was always full of complaints about him using the column to spout his political views. He is way to the right of Max.
Didn't even know Gagarin was English to be fair.
link?
what were you expecting here?
oh dear...personally i refuse to watch Britain's got talent,
There have been about 7 or 8 circuits due to hold a GP over the last 20 years according to Bernie.
I always thought it meant Spacetronaught
Just arrived,
I'll find it amusing that we'll probably fail miserably tonight again, considering the competition ratings wise for the show is Britains Got Talent.
Denmark coming up, this is the boyband esque written by Ronan Keating and I think sung by him as well
It was only one entry.
http://twitter.com/doctorvee
That's what it says on his statues
Me too although tonight I don't believe I'm in a position to look down on it.
Holy crap, he's stolen ronan keating's voice
It was just his name
Let me know when our entry's on.
first question, what is Ronan Keating doing writing a song for Denmark? and second question anyone else freaked out that he is dressed as Ronan?
And his face.
:)
Only cos Ronan stole it from Morton Harkett in the first place :-P
Ronan sold records very well. Good marketing technique to steal.
Not a bad song either.
When Gavin came over to london, did he take Ronan Keating back with him?
Helps that its another one written by an irishman....
It isn't' actually. Still wouldn't vote for it though.
That being Irelands technique for ensuring that they never win again - write them for other countries entries :-)
i always get annoyed by the thank yous at the end, not sure why...
What.
Yep you figured it out!
And the entry from Germany, is completely the 'classic' german entry/pop song :-D
hello ladies... This is a favourite according to the tv i watched this morning. sure it was a german station...
wow that's a shiny pair of trousers...
Germany conforming to (Eurovision) type once again.
:)
I actually like this one. but thats probably just the girls...
My eyes hurt from his trousers, and im sure I can see my reflection in them...
Its one of those that would once have featured on Eurotrash
Oh I miss Eurotrash :-(
i say let the guy in the black hat behind the piano sing a song on his own. he looks cool.
also, there's a guy playing a piano, but all I hear is sparkly tr, I mean, synthy music.
What?!
hear hear!
costume changes and key changes. it's a winner..
I bet he wrote this :0
um...i've given in....
has england done theirs yet?
did you see the year when austria had cardboard cutouts on stage of animals playing musical instruments.
this is an interesting song people. pay attention
Turkey is going to be bad isn't it
5 more i think.
Prince lookalikey, bond-esque classic german pop, not to mention the slight lack of clothes that isn't actually look....
That would be Britain, and no
ohh I remember that! alf poier his name was or something - that song was AMAZING!
we are number 23, only on 18 atm
i actually like this. the ladies help.
yep that's him. it totally showed that backing tracks are just that.
I mean, I like red, but thats a lot of red
Haha... what is this guy?
nice ladies though
Plus the shedding of the clothes....
although there are far too many PCDs a likes this year...
technically, it's the UK on the official paperwork
there is a random guy in green at the back and a strange guy with shiny green trousers on.
yeah, but Britains not a country ;)
did you say...
shiny trousers...
:P
That would be the obligatory turkish acrobat then :-)
"the bad news is you're about to see Albania" ha!
next up
19 Albania, 20 Norway, 21 Ukraine, 22 Romania
23 United Kingdom, 24 Finland, 25 Spain
haha oh dear i just laughed at a joke from graham norton..
Albania appears to have the blue man group on stage....
Not a good sign... ;)
albania continue to open my eyes in new completely bizarre ways, good stuff
Anyone one else think the two others are Dick and Dom?
but two of them accidentally put their suit in the dark wash by mistake.
Eurovision does things with music you never thought possible.
or bad stuff, whichever way you look at it
he appears to be covered in sequins...
My normal sophisticated food has gone out the window tonight - naff all in the fridge. :D
Chip and fish finger buttie it is then. :D
Laughing at graham norton again. uh oh :(
Excellent.
Norway is repeating the previously winning formula of 'oirish folk'
Norwegian guy scared me in the semi's, and he still does
Tweet from one of my managers:
"Germany just managed to encapsulate the whole eurovison experience in one song!!! Amazing/rubbish/tacky...not the same without wogan though!"
Me too. The world has turned upside down.
sorry but what is with his eyebrows?! it's like someone has just stuck them on him...
This is the favourite?!
but wait for the rock violin solo..
I'm in love with a fairytale.
Trust me, I can't get it out of my head from the semi finals.
BTW Eurovision newbies - if you think the contest entries are bad, the intermission is frequently worse
Drink update: I am now fuelled by red wine.
Well I like the dancing
If you are stuck try arctic surprise. Open the freezer, close your eyes and take the first three things you touch. It's a bit of a pain if you end up with chips, dprouts and ice cream but them's the risks
Parantly its a load of people jumping into a swimming pool
And here it is - and the girls....
The best was the Aqua 7 minute medley. Can't stand the pop they produce but 90 seconds of all of their songs was quite...umm.. pleasant.
Thats a big bow!
Was that really the favourite or was he being sarcastic?
they have a certain slave girl look...
Just watched F1 Wolf's laps with Schumacher. That looked like fun
O.O
.
.
.
.
what's with her dress?!
odds are here
http://www.oddschecker.com/specials/eurovision/eurovision-song-contest/win-market
This was the reason that, one shared house I lived in at uni, we had a 'pudding freezer'
(we also had an alcohol fridge/freezer)
It really is the favourite.
:D hehehe
it's the same bow that aretha franklin had from the Obama inauguration.
I honestly didn't even consider betting a thought. Maybe I should have.
The camera is making me VERY dizzy right now
I'm disappointed that the hamster wheels don't turn the "right" way.
Miming?
They put UK optimistic. Lets be honest. It has no hope in hell.
Since when were we joint 3rd favourites to win?!
Tis not allowed.
i'm hoping for a Temple of Doom scenario
you are sexy bum????
:-)
Ukraine is another entry that JPG would be all 'happy' about on Eurotrash...
... kind of Israel folk music crossed with the cheeky girls...
You are so sexy BOM
Gonna make me crazy BOM
We’re gonna do the BOM BOM
Ain’t that amazing BOM
how is she singing and doing flips?
Definitely
According to subtitles, yes.
who got knocked out of the semis? Ireland, Poland, and..
Actually you are allowed additional singers, but I thought the rule was they had to be on stage.
The good ones.
Baby, I can save your world!
I'm your anti-crisis girl!
and Serbia. That was Don King gone mad. Latvia, where the singer was clearly drunk
Its doable :-) if you can do flips in the first place.
I've got a link somewhere about kinetic voice training... it was fun to do that in college :-D
lyrics for the last song are here
http://www.eurovision.tv/event/artistdetail?song=24730&event=1482
go romania! i like this one.
I'm gonna go ahead and predict we finish 26th.
yes I am aware there are 25 entries.
Serbia http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KqQWW0MCIU
Iceland to beat Moldova by a point
WOOO BRITAIN!!!!
Sorry thats the RG-vision. My own way of voting.
I'm preparing msyelf. Havent seen this yet.
i haven't heard this, are we any good? or is it like last year?
I say this however....we're so screwed, we stand no chance
Well we're 3rd favourite so I reckon we'll score at least 1 point.
Let's face it, if a song by Andrew Lloyd Webber can't win it for us, nothing can.
UK ;)
It's........*ahem* crap
A ballad.
omg a shiny microphone?! what's wrong with the conventional black?
so no then ;)
Tell us something new.
Andrew Lloyd Webber's actually there!
it matches the shoes. truly! i saw a doco.
urgh. still better than last year...
Nice violin moment!
LOL did she just get hit by the violinist?! thats hilarious
Andy Abrahams' song was good! I liked it :D
*yawns*
But the last time ALW wrote a decent song, he was working with Tim Rice, surely?
and the year before that, and the one before that etc. until 2002.
he snobbed off the rehearsals though. i guess if the piano isn't actually "plugged in" what difference does it make.
KEY CHANGE!
He has been all over Europe trying to get votes. He even visited Putin.
was that the Daz Simpson one? that's been my fav (as i think i mentioned a few nights back)
it matches her SHOES! O.O whatever next.
I say we get the Goldie Lookin Chains
full instruments going with it too. that's good. but the song is still rubbish...
"It's My Time" to fade back into obscurity
No, that was only like 2006
We finished 3rd in 2002
Rootin' tootin'
I was in Milan last weekend. Think of me as your fashion consultant.
:D Excellent idea Lukeh
coming to a cafe near you.
It's Eurovision. What did you expect?
Lol
That's what they *all* do though :-)
Do we really want to win? Isnt that a risk we have to take it seriously next year?
what was 2002?
and the last thing we need to do is win it, which is just as well cause we wont.
And even then it's debateable...
oh
my
GOD.
Oh yes!!!
Although it looks like Finland are having a go at that...
Oh god. Finland produce good racing drivers, granted, but this...
Jade who? Never heard of her.
I heard she is learning lines for her next job.
"Would you like fries with that?"
Jessica Garlick with Where Are You
This has Jemini written all over it
Who put this through?
big start but not as good as Lordi
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Py5Of-4kJ70
trust me, if you've no idea about the finnish winners from 2 years back
Where's Amy?
Oh Lordi
Ha, excellent :-)
omg the chorus is an earworm
hehe
Oh wow, the more it goes on, the worse it gets. pure eurovision :D
still asleep or watching tennis i guess ! she was around a few hours ago and i thought was going to wake up for this and more tennis
I think she was going to the pub to watch Eurovision.
She is sleeoing two days in a row?
Last song. Thank goodness.
I miss the chiki chiki guy from last year :(
ONE TO GO
Yup, this is bad already.
Ah yeah. We need to blame her for Finland.
Are you dissing Joseph?
:D
Spain. I swear I've heard this song a hundred times on Eurovision contests already.
*watches france 2008 entry on youtube*
:)
link please?
Spain wants to win!
They;ve stuck an illusion in their act!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0D0ZxjpbkM
Now that is eurovision at it's best!
Yeah, shouting's not gonna win you the competition, luv. Or will it?
I've found a British flag someone gave me who went to the speedway last year.
Parantly they are connection to the Space Station
I hope the winner will be....Iceland.
"Vote for the country you like" Erm...
Ditto. Just to see her again.
portugal for me, the only one I properly liked!
love it.
sidepodspace?
sidepodspace
I thought he said "I ass ass, can you hear me?"
In Space no one can hear Eurovision.
This was cool when the ISS green-flagged Le Mans.
This is not cool.
Is there any way to vote for france's entry last year now?
i had no idea what you were talking about. this is incredible. and so prerecorded...surely..
Yuri Gagarin said 3, 2, 1, 0 Europe start voting? What was he on?
They really did that? COOL! :D
it's not on nasa tv
haha
I wonder if it all sounded better in space?
Yep, last year's start
outside yes :) they should have done the space walk today.
ICELAND!!!
Hands off Scott in Italy.
They do all sorts of live link ups to get good publicity for the space programs but the conversation didn't exactly flow
I'd have loved to be on that phone call...
"hello Nasa, we'd like the ISS to start the eurovision voting"
"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *for about 3 hours*....oh wait your serious"
Russia's was really scary...
:) Aaah. think i might be downloading that one later....
the delay is bad enough when you talk to the next country across..
Azerbaijan are 2nd favourites.
in space, no-one can hear you scream
not as scary as Greece's, he was on a giant stapler at one point...
Wonder if she has a wallpaper collection.
XD
Oh dear, greece's really was terrifying. I cantw ait to see germany's again
i really am curious what happens with the jury system this year. norway has many friends so that's probably why they are favourite. denmark (ronan) is good.
OK, Denmark's didn't sound too bad.
The voting opened at 15 mins to go. It has taken six minutes to recap.
Ah man did I mis the sparkly trousers?
You know, Denmark would be the only one I wouldn't mind seeing win.
http://www.eurovision.tv/event/artistdetail?song=24716&event=1482
And Dita von Teese ;)
i'd forgotten all about Gernamy's :(
Goodbye Timo Glock.
Relationship status
Unknown
hope ;)
oh hang on - that's just the songwriter..who we never saw
:D
they have a CD....Eurovision Song Contest Moscow 2009 (Karaoke Version)
oh no *looks away so she doesn't have to see Greece's or Germany's entrys*
I'm just downloading the Iceland video version, rest aren't worth it.
aww :D
Is there a way to vote for germany's trousers and not the entry?
here's a quote from her
"I did not know this was going to be such a big event! hehe so I turned out to be a big dork in the whole situation:)"
What was wrong with Germany's?
!!! ebay?
haha i think i want Norway to win lol
Shiny trousers. That is all.
Aww, cute.
several things, i just don't like it, it's horrible.
Voting is done. :P
it's like sesame street!
Ah yes. I hadn't really registered the trousers for some unknown reason.
and now the good part starts!
Interval? Oh maaaan...
Amazingly quickly
What. on. earth?
More shininess...
voting takes 15 minutes, the results of the voting takes 90 minutes.
wow that's a heck of a lot of tin foil.
in.the.sky?
i'm dizzy
If something is annoying you remember you have the option of skyping a tremayne voicemail while it is fresh
*drinks tea*
Hmm.
it's like two flies trying to get to the other side of a window.
I'd hate to be the guy filling in the health and safety report on this one
How did that get past health and safety.
Oope forgot. It's Russia.
Wow! that looks fun...
they got all the foil blankets from the london marathon and sewed them together
"We're going to suspend a tank of water containing two swmmers, above the audience"
i don't get it. but i like it.
In Soviet Russia, Health and Safety gets past you?
i was just thinking about the pitch as well. vodka was involved i guess.
OK now that looks scary
Someone on twitter said
'RT @upyourego: IF we win then how the hell do you follow astronauts opening the voting? I know - we get Boris on. #eurovision #twumpet'
and tilt it from side to side sloshing the swimmers right to the edge
Erm......this interval is getting rather......erm......yeah.
this is a wierd moment in my life
:D
and to think we were all talking about how bad the interval acts were!
I can't see this new sport of Jumping on Water is gonna take off
Is that the Russian version of a wet t shirt contest?
But I don't want to talk to Andrew Lloyd Webber
Do you want to punch him, though?
I heard a rumour that Duncan from Blue will be presenting our votes.
Yep, you heard me, THE Duncan!
Yes please, and that's because of the talent shows he's inflicted on BBC1 over the last few years.
I respect the man for the amazing stuff he's done in theatre musically
I can;t stand him for what he's done in terms of BBC programming
An ideal time for a toilet break.
Can't I do it. I have the voice and the spirit and the '12 votes for..........................................Bosnia and Herzegovina'
Jury time?
Here we go!
I can predict already - nothing for UK.
W
Wow!
We actually got points; wow....
Holy crap, 10 points!
Wrong already.
41 countries to go in the voting.
WE HAVE POINTS
hahaahaha 'i don't think it's going to be a shoe in for us at all' we aren't going to win Mr Webber, we just wont - thank god, the last thing we need to do is waste money on hosting the eurovision contest. ;)
Sorry, what?
i think they've already combined juries and telephone votes right?
great job :)
Another 3 points for us.
RG - move over Iceland...
I love this new system. Were are on the left of the screen for the first time since 2002.
There's a rave going
Pauline's in the middle of a rave...
It has points.
Another 10 points!
silent rave!
i think i want Norway to win just so i can see the felipe massa with very big eyebrows again. he makes me laugh lol
We are second. Someone get a screenshot
Wow, we're 2nd.
Bugger me with a fish fork, we're actually doing well...
iceland acoustic version...
http://www.eurovisionary.com/node/2404
Hamburgers calling. Shouldn't they finish the show first?
But it won't have her singing though
Germany giving us points?!
We've scored a point?
Damn. :(
I always loved the fact that we couldn't get thrown out of the competition when we come last as we give too much money to it.
Looks like Norway is doing a Brawn...
Looks like you owe someone money :D
They should tell us how the vote was split between phone votes and juries..
We are second, answer that.
yeah it does. she sounds very impressive.
and 6 points from Czech Republic.
remember how i was talking about the apocalypse a few nights ago... the world is ending!
Yer wot?
Sparkly Trousers have 2.
:(
Oh it does. I'll listen after the results
OMG! I said "What's next, us winning Eurovision?"
You're right! ARRRRGH!
50/50 and i believe the breakdown will be released AFTER the event is over.
Germany always votes for the UK - 1) there are a *lot* of BFPO and 2) it annoys the French....
haha, especialy when people were getting knocked out in the semis and we entered that aeroplane thing!
So thats how then intend to punish us for last years entry - by winning it this year and having to put on the show next year...
:)
It's all over. Pity. The song is rubbish.
Norway doing a Brawn? More like the UK!
Do you think that the Beeb can make ALW foot the bill?
Iceland, give us 12 and I'll love you even more.
Erm...is it too early to say Norway have won?
ahhhh.....
4 points from France?! Stingy little...
I bought a dip to go with my doritos, i can't find it
nope. i beat you by a minute ;)
nope
Still moving there though
in the chat room for my host broadcaster
http://www.justin.tv/dragonblades2
someone posted
Germany: I am so embarrassed for my country.
Nope - but the baltic states have yet to be counted, so it could all change....
Bye Norway!
Goooooo Iceland!
hehe. go iceland for second !
"Welcome to Eurovision 2009 from Norway!" Yup, sounds about right.
Aww terry wogan was funny, graham norton is just nasty
you mean 2010 right?
"sorry I wasn't listening"
Norton funny #3
Oh come on...
no surprises for the Montenegran vote
How stupid am I?
wogan had a nasty streak too
Not as stupid as the voters so dont worry
Oh what a surprise. Political voting still exists.
These result readers just get better and better...
Who's doing ours, John McCririck?
Have you seen how well the UK are doing?
That's good to know :D
Aww damn you Andorra, I wanted Spain to get nil point
Wow, didn't expect Andorra to give Spain 12 points. Nope, didn't see that one coming...
andorra?
giving spain 12?!
Blimey, wonders will never cease......
Wow, this guy rocks!
Let me guess, 12 to Norway from Finland.
out of all the people in Finland, they chose some ugly guy with a beer gut?
All dressed up with Cheeky Charm and the ability to say the most scrurelous things without even a blink of recognition. Him and Humph had that in common :-D
he is wearing a picnic table cloth hahaha :D
Dem...estonia?!
bwahahahaaha... oh dear.
Amy will be very sad...
WTF? Does Europe really hate us that much that they won't give us 12 points?
i'm just grateful he hasn't been drinking tonight, he could have been much worse.
Ireland will give us 12, you just watch
57 points is better than 0 points remember ;)
It could be worse... last couple of years our polliticians have made us *really* unpopular... this year we seem to have been forgiven a little....
7 from Bulgaria!
Norway estimated to get 411 points on current basis
Sparkly trousers in last :(
Yeah but still, it's changed from "Give us a point!" to "Give us 12 points!" in the space of 12 months. Go figure.
Oh I don't know - there was that little comment earlier about how Arlene phillips didn't rate the Ukrainian dancers... but he did ;-)
Sad that she missed him? I mean Finland has attractive people - why did they choose Yogi Bear in the picnic blanket?
Not even Dita von Teese could save them.
Ooh, what a surprise, another 12 points to Norway.
Look! Guys!
Duncan from blue!!!
UK will give 12 points to Germany
We gave Germany 7?! Something is seriously wrong with us.
Damn, I didn't vote for Iceland enough
RG - was that your 400 votes?
TURKEY???
we gave 7 points to germany?! why?!
You were saying?
Might have been.
Yes it was.
I phoned up a LOT.
happy to be on this side of the water. you crazy trouser loving people.
RG voting for Timo
I was close
I wish we had!
Its a witch!
Erm, I've kinda kicked Timo out for the Iceland girl
*sigh* i knew it was you :P either you or steven :P
;)
Does that interval music remind anyone of Saturday Night Takeaway?
Please try and keep up, Steven.
Who does she drive for?
moscow by genghis kahn?
damn tatu.
Norway Predicted Total - 395
It bloody well does and all!
Lol
I think that Graham has had a drink or two now... the comments are starting to be more, um, interesting....
:D
now have tatu songs in my head :(
No, no and no to the CD and DVD.
Very soon we will know the name of the winner.
It's Norway
It's T.A.T.U.
i read something the other day saying he couldn't have a drink because of the painkillers he is on because of his ribs...
Bet no-one ever said that before
the hosts are boring me. the other guys (semi finals) were more ... well...russian
Yup. Just face it, you stupid presenters.
happy to get it wrong. i had to endure them on last week's preview shows and the semi finals.
Yaay we got a 12!
GET IN THERE! LOVE YOU GREECE! :D
GREECE. WE LOVE YOU.
Haha, it is starting to go a bit strange...
Not your entry, but LOVE YOU! :D
12 points from Greece? wow..
Is this some kimf of Vietnam vet just discovered in the jungle?
kind
We're not out of the fight for 2nd just yet!
We're doing a bit better this year.
LOL A bit.
They are certainly a group better enjoyed with the sound turned down. Or off.
I never realised Ukraine was so mountainous
Got to admit the Norway song was catchy at least.
:D
Yeah they were quite big ti...oh wait, you meant the mountains in the background.
it did have awesome eyebrows, in all fairness
With the condition of the roads there I am surprised she doesn't have black eyes
Hate Turkey! We gave them 12 points and they gave us nothing! BOO!
see i told you :P
Hehehe, I like this albania guy :)
Oh yes, forgot about that.
Mind you, there are plenty of painkillers that will have that effect (codeine being one, and codeine being the main one given for fractures....)
:)
What?
i've just realised we have over 100 points..
about the eyebrows.
Remember, 12 points for UK from Ireland and Cyprus
Good to see Serbia and Bosnia being nice to each other
oh sorry i quoted the wrong thing...
Did I say Cyprus, just meant Ireland
Only 7 from Cyprus, a surprise
Yeah, like I say, it's a bit of an improvement I suppose over 0. I mean, a few new aerodynamic parts and a revised diffuser might see us doing better though.
:P
We usually get more from "plucky little Malta" too.
I got a tweet on Monday from someone called Tom McLoughlin in regards to that Puma contest. He wants me to give him my e-mail to send some more info? :S
Norway Projection - 388
I am easily confused
sounds nice :)
The Dutch like us don't they?
Oh yes
Ah - but there are a lot less BFPO out in those countries than there used to be - they've been moved to the middle east where they probably can't watch this anyway, being on active duty ... and their families are generally back in the UK rather than 'on base'...
I dunno, I'm a little suspicious. Mind you, isn't this the same kind of thing Amy had and she ended up on that McLaren event?
not any more?
So Norway need just 4 more points to be the biggest winners ever.
how is this better than Lordi? or is it because there are more countries?
301, most popular song ever
Fair play to Norway!
Yeah it could be a mate having a laugh, but what do you have to lose? until there's money requests, go for it...
I think we need to revamp the scoring system because there is no incentive to overtake.
How is it better than ABBA?
Portugal didn't do as well as I imaged or hoped. :(
Love you Portugal! :D
Steven Steven Steven....
The 'oldest alliance' pays off..
The famous Swedish group
Well, he's not a mate. He's not on my friends list and apparently looking at some of his other tweets, he's part of Edelman PR.
:)
12 points from Ireland to UK
10?! 10!!! WTF IRELAND! You used to be cool...
hehehe, good old Ireland.
I miss political voting
now it's looking like you're stalking him!
go iceland :)
Woah.
Denmark, 12 to Iceland
:)
where does this quote come from? it sounds familiar, but i cannot place it.
Hey, how do I know if he's legit or not?! Just checking, is all :P
I've DMed him my e-mail on Twitter, so I'll wait and see what it's all about. He did say he'd seen me talking about the PUMA comp on here!
Mind you there is this tweet he sent to someone:
"Hi guys,I'm Tom from EdelmanPR. PUMA(client) r offering opp 4 F1 fans 2 go 2 GPs and go behind scenes with teams.DM me 4 more info"
If it' legit then :D !!!!
Guys; No. Jokes. From slovenia.
i might employ that approach with a nice girl from Iceland I met tonight.
Didn't they do it one year when it was the decider with one to go and the guy left the screen?
spelling is atrocious
:D
Those crazy Slovenians eh?
Erm, the tournament is taking place in Sydney y'know
*Runs to Moscow*
haven't been following the conversation, but i assume you're talking about tom? he's sound, i think we're going to be doing more with the puma competition next week. i mentioned to you in the comments last week to check you twitter re: that message.
Can I vote for the Slovenian guy? He was better than the majority of acts tonight
bugger. christine nicked me mac.
I'm messaging from the airport already ;)
hi stranger :)
evening.
Oh, that message! I didn't see until now! :D
Nooooo. Erm. Aha, she's not Icelandic. So yeah, good luck
you two are trying to confuse us tonight aren't you :P
how are you Mr C? had a good day?
How come you're allowed to swear then? Evening Mr C.
Azerbaijan using skype...
doh! anyhow, at least you replied.
they're definitely taking advantage of an evening of music that creates much fonsuion in people's minds ;)
Yeah but she's mine
...confusion, even. wow.
Only just seen it after I installed TweetDeck just now.
fab day, we were catching up with a bunch of lost episodes. i like non-race weekends.
All thanks to TweetDeck! If I hadn't installed it, I wouldn't have seen it!
Erm, err, no she's not ;)
it took graham norton about a minute to realise Estonia, who are 44 points behind us, can't get maximum pointds and overtake us.
Heh.
my god, norway won!
congrats to Norway then
RG's prediction out by one point - 387 to 388
So does this mean I could be off to a GP, Silverstone maybe?
Are you Legard in disguise
Congrats to norway!
How long's the flight? Give me that plus about 10 minutes to win her over, and another hour to fight through all the other people in front of me.
Eurovision's a music contest again, not solely a Political Relations contest.
I really wish i had the patience to wait so i could watch them in a block!
yay! we get to see the Jamie Cullum + Massa + additional eyebrow man again! i only like it cause he makes me laugh! hehe
Why does he have a snooker cue?
if that were they case, i would've thought they'd contact you via email / phone. am guessing he may have been after feedback re: the site and how you found registration, but not sure.
violin bow:)
Err, I have the feeling its too long.
good hosting job by Russia too. not too many stupid links by the presenters. solid interval. nice.
He looks a bit like Eoghan from X Factor as well!
see that's the spirit of eurovision.
He will never pot anything with that
to poke Jade again
Well he did ask for my e-mail, so...
I'll wait and see what it's all about.
yeah good point. the short film things weren't great though.
One of the most impressive stages ever as well... Good Job..
now what would they do with a GP?
he looks about 12.... lol!
not sure about that last minute arranging going on - i'd suspect there would be a few dogs on the track if you know what i mean...
the politics were mostly out of it this year. just the ex-Yugoslav countries at it, a little Baltic stuff, but much improved
Bernie would like the idea of a race in a suspended swimming pool
good stuff, and do report back if you hear anything.
for anyone else who's interested in being an f1 journalist for the day, do submit your registration here:
http://www.pumamotorsport.com/fan-report/
and, more on this next week.
He reminds me of Nico Rosberg
he looks like that guy in Hollyoaks.
better than some of the winners but (shrug). the voice just doesn't fit him. you guys should look for the elvis song that was in the first semi final. it was a laugh.
I assume there is an age restriction
It would be Malaysia all over again...
less chance of it getting red flagged that certain other predictable scenarios
Ooooh, interesting.
oh no they cut off the end of the song, i suppose that's good i was in danger of getting the song stuck in my head.
apparently open to anyone, anywhere in the world.
presumably under 18's need to bring a guardian? not sure, though, i'll ask on monday.
Thanks for the strange live commenting everyone :) It's been nice to share with you all. Now I should probably disappear but probably won't...
always on the
www.eurovision.tv website :)
Ah right, thanks for that
oh wow!!! :D
Noooo don't goooooooo...............
:-D
Of course :)
i wish they would stop playing that advert for f1, thursday seems too far away :(
Hmm, your not disappearing yet?
See ya in Moscow pally.
it's past my pumpkin o'clock and I still ahve work I've been slowly doing for the last 3 hours - want to wrap it up and get to bed because i'm feeling old this weekend!
Does this mean we have to go back on topic?
At least I'll have something to come home and watch on Thursday. I'm at my dad's all next week while we get a new bathroom fitted here.
I don't really do 'on topic'.
Erm...do we have to?
If you had an exam on Thursday it would not seem so far away.
hehe :) i think i'll comment a lot less in the next 30 minutes and then just fade away slowly....
But I thought you were younger than most of us?
gee and to think that on Thursday when i posted a message about Eurovision, i was scared of being too random ;)
That doesn't mean I can't feel old does it? I'm actually only 7 years old. And don't believe in child slavery laws.
It's been a fun evening with you lot :D
as always!
Oh come on!! We once started a religion, and there was crochet and maths..... Eurovision is distinctly on topic compared to those.
the funny thing about most of those is they happen on days when i'm not around and I come back and you're all acting differently... crochet? completely missed that one... i remember the maths ones vaguely. there was some f1 somewhere...motogp on tomorrow i think too.
The religion hasn't really worked out though.
true, but i don't have another exam until 2nd June :D
so favourite this evening lukeh? was it green day or eurovision?
I'll be fine with DTM and WTCC, thanks :D
Love those tin-tops.
I'm gonna go with sparkly trousers I'm afraid.
I have an exam on Wednesday and Thursday and they feel ages away!
Wow. How the heck did Norway win that one? Me and the wife just finished watching it and we couldn't believe it ... we picked out about 5 songs that were clearly ahead of the others and Norway was not one of them!
are you claiming franck doesn't exist?
i'm not sure what to say about that....other than...yeah...about that....
Was Iceland? Cos if it wasn't...
oh no...
:D
Want to watch live on their websites but will be busy elsewhere. Will rely on torrents.
Hi Gavin. it wasn't the best but not the worst. RG and I would have happily given it to Iceland but that had little to do with the singing...
Prehaps the trousers should be the new focus of faith?
I'm worried too.
:(
Are you not in love with a fairytale?
And she had more clothes on than anyone else.....
I had trouble identifying each nation to each song.
It was the face to be fair
I know i am
I feel a bit lost now. I didn't plan what to do after it ended.
That's usually deliberate.
How so?
On the bbc it was in the bottom left of the screen
turn on any radio station and hear a better song. it's called cleansing. others call it colonic irrigation...
Winamp. Must load Winamp.
The bext time you have an exam just think how far away Thursday feels now and remember that when the exam feels as if it is on top of you.
They do it to confuse you :)
Heretic
haha i wouldn't be worried, but the moment you see a pair of shiny trousers just remember jon and i will pay you not to buy them.
I think I've managed to sum up the entire evening quite well here:
http://twitter.com/lukehmuse/statuses/1820551413
I heard bits of the UK entry and went back to watching Robocop.
Why do we enter this every year?
i've had my first day without major exam stress and you're trying to make me think about them again? :P
I agree
We like playing at being European from time to time.
RG - go watch the 40 second acoustic version of the iceland song..
http://www.eurovisionary.com/node/2404
:D
No, I can't stand Ronan. Denmark had a decent song though. Gutted the UK didn't win!
I think I need to switch back to beer. Mixing drinks could be problematic though.
dumb question... where did we finish?
Did you think UK had the best song?
http://twitter.com/officeryorly/statuses/1820668123
HAHA, this is hilarious. someone caring a little too much about my tweets
i'd go with not enough costume changes. really changes the meaning of eurovision for me.
5th! we actually did wel!
I prefer the French method.
Write the eurpoean constitution - then they vote No to it. :D
5th
we finished 5th believe it or not.
ahh cool. was that on merit?
I'm in love, with an Icelandic
I personally think germany deserved the win, because they had really nice sparkly trousers, but I guess it was on merit. Norways guy had cool eyebrows and got 6 billion points though, so take it for what it's worth.
And there was some music in thetre somewhere too
Told you to watch it :) i wonder if she has an album...
Eurovision and merit dont really go together!
perfect :)
yep, i think so.
true. just wondered if it was the 5th best song of the night.
switching from pants Europop cheese on TV to personal MP3 collection on headphones, rocky, loud, manly, grr
Well, apart from Iceland and maybe Turkey, it was good.
I think so. It was reasonable by EV standards. Wouldn't ever listen to it otherwise.
one of the cowriters of the Iceland song worked with sclub7 :(
It was quite different to all of the others, but better than our usual attempts
Because, as you say, we contribute so much money to Eurovision, we're not allowed not to.
She was from Andorra wasn't she?
i'm playing a good anti-eurovision song. loud guitars. can't say the name due to swearword, twitterers will know
I see there is another stage on the addiction ladder purely for my benefit. I am still only at stage 3.
I don't do twitter, facebook or last.fm so I don't qualify fr stage 4
2 choices then.
1) Stop giving money and don't go.
2) keep giving money and say it's so we don't have to enter.
ommmm
you should!
:)
I'm going to start the transition slowly with Lordi!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdItwaLrv1U
I bet though, the ratings for the Eurovision in the UK will be massive. BBC can't afford not to do it.
agreed. i mean just how bad is your taste in music steven?
But that then runs the risk that we'd get votes for *not* entering/writing something Europop/whatever... and would end up having to host.
Hence rather negating the whole 'not singing' thing....
Someone changed my addiction level to 5.5 Is that allowed?
you have an identi.ca.
bus.ted!
I don't listen to much music. The only time I do is when I am driving. And then it is whatever is on the radio until it annoys me
if they can prove it...
facebook is like a heroin. keep away.
Depends on how you feel about it. Can your rating go down as well as up?
Yeah we had Iceland as one of the 5...
I am about to drop it because I never use it. To be fair I am thinking about signing up for twitter tomorrow
i don't even know what half of these things are. although i did run my own website 13 or 14 years ago. but gave it up. I'm cured :)
Not while people keep adding levels for me
ooh
Okay. You have permission to be here then :)
Though to be fair, she also has a beautiful voice.
Nope... But it was quite good. I'm not sure who was best but there were only 5 worth considering. I was a bit disappointed this year - last year was a lot funnier and more entertaining...
i (heart) Lordi
ommm good or ommm bad?
Surely you have to be at stage 4 before you get on the scale as before that you havent joined the wiki?
I don't believe you. Everyone listens to music.
I couldn't choose a top few because they were all too similar.
do you do do twitter, just not yet :P
It was established a week or to ago that progression is not linear but similar in shape to the universe that can only be made using crochet. It made sense at the time.
the 'ommm im telling off you to miss' ommm
Still leaves facebook and last.fm
that was meant to be *so* .. too many 'do's in a sentence can lead to confusion
I thought that was 'ummmmmmmmmmummmm'
Or is the regional accent thing coming into play?
err, what?
thats what i thought too
I also like http://www.last.fm/music/Teenage Fanclub/_/Verisimilitude
but it contains 1x f-word so discretion advised
i thought "ommm".
meh you're better staying away from facebook imo, i mean it's great for procrastination. twitter is better. and as for last.fm give us time :P
I think so
did you never say that or ahear someone say that when you were in junior school or nursery when someone did something naughty?
:D
another felipe? that's twice this week.
I understood it. So glad it is not just my keyboard that hates me
:P
Yeah Facebook is rubbish now. Don't bother. Twitter rocks, Last.FM is great.
'ommm' to me always makes me think of the whole pseudo transedental meditation thing. Pseudo, because if you make that sound whilst doing so you are generally posing rather than doing ;-)
Felipe baby now has 90 comments. I remember when 90 comments was a lot for a post to get.
http://drop.io/sidepodcast?page=9
Facebook is spammed and I still don't get the point of Twitter...?
Oh this is sooooo a reason I like home ed... none of mine 'do' this...
we just get the shrieks as one deals summary justice followed by the cry of 'mummmmm he/she hit me/changed the channel/took my toy/wrote on my bit of paper/looked at me sideways the wrong way!!' which is just normal sibling behaviour really.
Ah yeah :-) ha :-)
Twitter works very well indeed for connecting with people during live events.
Leo reckons twitter is yesterday's toy and friendfeed is the next big thing
Hehe. Cult of Mac has a review of Windows 7 up. Yes, you read that right.
I've put Winamp on random and it picked Whatever by Oasis. I'm seeing both Oasis and Blur this year, for I rock.
What about Friendface? ;)
I might be slightly drunk.
I want to swear at you now :(
connecting people full stop.
look at amy and mclaren.
Do it on Twitter!
aye
Register the url. There is probably money to be made
i agree.
the bad part of Twitter is all the spammers are on it now
really going now as opposed to not looking in this tab for a bit. happy british summer time midnight people. not often i make one of those.
and myfriend too :) my friend claimed she was on that once...
night scott.
good night Scott
Night Scott. I'll keep an eye on Yohanna
Have you been to the friendface website?
http://friendface.co.uk/
:D
oh man you don't want to see who started following me tonight.
someone going by the name of Jacqui Smith, as in the Home Secretary except it obviously isn't. On the profile page is Smith's head on the body of, erm, a lady in not many clothes.. I won't link...
night Scott
Theres alot Hoffspace, thats the Hoff's social networking site ;)
Night Scott.
night scott..
Its midnight? how did that happen?
former F1 driver Robert Doornbos has qualified for Indy:
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/75376
hahaha, brilliant!
haha i thought about joining that just cause scott mills used to talk about it alot and i wanted to see why it was so great. yes i have an addiction to radio one. the important thing is i didn't actually join hoffspace. lol
haha welcome to SPC
you'll find that alot with sidepodcast, the time just flys by.
Welcome to our world. This is the reason Amy doesn't sleep for days on end
Right, I'm off. Suspect i might have dreams about a certain Icelandic girl.
kveðja
nitgh r.g.
I'm not even tired at all.
Tomas Scheckter qualified. He only signed the other day
aww poor Timo, night RG.
night RG
no idea who the guy talking on http://live.twit.tv/ is, but i think he may burst live on air.
It's strange because mentally I'm not but physically I am.
Most underrated album of the 90s?
SClub7 - SClub
Well, he shoulda sung at eurovision.
Defo gone now.
wow!
Lighthouse Family - Greatest Hits?
Sleeper - The It Girl
Balloon head or what!
I LOVE the bauld guy
Don't recognise him
apparently twitter is very serious stuff!
twitterfight
Crowded House - Together Alone
Black Grape - It's Great When You're Straight... Yeah
Edie Brickell - Picture Perfect Morning
I have far too many to choose just one. :D
SERIOUS!
reminds me of zed from police academy.
Any one of a ridiculous number in the boxes in this house....
Not a lot of point mentioning personal favourites though, cos the chances of anyone having heard of them are remote rofl
You mean:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LsBugR9dpdU
:D
Maybe, maybe not. All are welcome.
Seconded. It's still a good listen.
Speaking of underrated 90's albums, I was mega chuffed when asked by my mate to identify the artist last night and I was the only one of the 6 who did - The Stone Roses...!
With my bizzare taste in music - anything's possible. :D
Finally... I got my issue of F1 Racing with the famous "Page 22" on it. On my business trip across the state next week I will be taking photos for the site.
Oh... hard one.
I never believed that Beck gets enough credit, especially for Odelay. Either that or New Adventures in Hi Fi by REM.
waaaay-hey!
I want to create a massive music collection. I'm only just getting into triple figures.
Keith "Cheggers" Chegwin...has arrived ;)
yay, Queen just came on
Was that underrated? Another great album though.
Still on my MP3 players. :D
It only took two months for it to hit the newsstands here.
tis i ;)
Please say he's clothed.... *wimper...*
Speaking of good songs - have you all heard "Underdog" by Kasabian? It's the one on the Sony Giant Zoetrope advert with Kaka playing football... Awesome song!
Um. I don't want to make you swear, and I can't say I've ever got into them, but they are the support to Oasis when I'm seeing them in Cardiff..
I don't know what the reaction was over there but it was completely ignored over here in the states.
I would also add "Dig Me Out" by Sleater Kinney to underrated 90's albums.
Still can't believe he did that.
Bumsocks!
In that song, they sound like the band Oasis should have become...
Sleater Kinney is a name I've heard of but not investigated. I think I first heard it on Steve Lamacq's Evening Session yonks ago and never got around to exploring.
I really ought to have paid more attention to the Evening Session and John Peel as well.
Will look it up. Oasis went wrong for a while. Not sure they recovered.
Very pleased Blur reconciled their differences.
I've always maintained Oasis vs Blur was a media invention and that many people liked both.
Chagall Guevara... only made the one album though...
Eve and the Garden
Fat and Frantic weren't bad either - and they even made it onto national TV :-)
Jonathon Fire-eater
various things from F.O. Neph, Incubus, Theatre of Tradgedy, and other similar and (to many) distinctly odd groups (who wear a lot of black.... :-) )
Other than that you end up around the same area as Flibster already mentioned :-)
Ah, bit of Lighthouse Family for me. Love their stuff and got their Greatest Hits albums. One of the best music purchases I ever made :D
uh. no. much derided at the time, although i was in my teens so maybe that's why
Still the best band I've ever heard live.
Just thought of the perfect answer to the original question. Pavement's Slanted and Enchanted. Pavement should been big but got rolled over by grunge over here in the states.
I wish I could wipe of from my mind...
Meh, fair enough. I like their stuff anyways.
@LPG yeah you're right, never heard of 'em (apart from Incubus who I can leave) but thanks for mentioning. I like trying to broaden my horizons musically.
what happened...exactly?!
Neither am I... Still prefer the original stuff. Everytime I go out drinking somebody plays Oasis and I can't help but sing along!
You really don't want to know.
Please don't. I'm getting some rather disturbing thoughts just reading it all.
Channel Five. I think the show was called "Naked Jungle"?
OOoooo a challenge. Well, I refer you to my other post. :-) And raise you 'Why?', Edens Burning and an interesting 'cove' who goes by the name of Pete Ryder (now he truly *is* obscure, but Beatrix Potters Gun is fantastic). Oh - Michelle Shocked was underrated 'in her time' although I think that she is still going, just that UK venues/festivals tend not to book her :-(
OK, that's far enough.
never, ever, click this
Or move to Denmark then...
How did anyone ever think that was a good idea?
I am looking through my music collection right now.
God some of these 90's albums sound and look so dated now.
seriously, who would ever think that was a good idea....
"It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye. Then it's just fun and games that you can't see."
Kasabian are better than I thought they were
haha. I Like that.
Apologies to mention it, but I just need to ask if there's anyone else who wants to join the BAT game? We're getting to the stage where we need to start it otherwise it'll get deleted like the last time.
I'm in. Where do I find the login?
I don't have time for this one but I can possibly do the one after.

Looks like teams need filling at Stewart, Prost and Sauber at the moment.
Also need to find out where Michael Smith is. He's down to drive with Selidor at Ferrari.
You probably don't want to do an Google image search. In fact I'm 100% positive you don't.
Trust me, I won't!
You could do worse than investigate peeps like 'Jars of Clay' and 'Sixpence none the richer'... fairly mainstream (with a small m) and not as loud and scary as the others.... (although to 'move on' from those you are ending up swimming in the deep waters of CMM and beyond towards Delirious? and off to the charts again and into the 00's)
Then again - there is always the Penguin Cafe Orchestra to make everything pretty and tonally atonal :-D
Ah, having said that, Dan's just taken the place.
I'm not sure how it happened but I've drunk nearly a whole bottle of wine.
oooh, a name i recognise. did the one2one adverts right?
Excellent. After being in Force India last season, I am now with Ferrari. From the back to contending in the front. Now I know how button feels.
I have a song from a compilation from Sixpence None The Richer. A Pessimist Is Never Disappointed! I love that song! Always wanted to investigate more. Sophie Ellis Bextor before she went solo.
sorry, i really can't do another one atm, too much going on with exams and prefect stuff.
Right, tell you what. If we can get just 3 more people to fill up Stewart, Prost and Sauber then we can start.
And no problem to all those who have just said they can't make it :)
the audience?
Correct. Was just checking my MP3s and you are right.
remember it well.
Sixpence None The Richer did that big song though, what was it?
kiss me.
ahh yeah
I know I love Sidepodcast, but...
got it on the Shine 10 compilation. liked that series, only got a few of them though
thanks to dawson's creek i believe.
ahh, you know you want to. sidepodhugs&kisses.
we have sidepodkisses now?
Aww ok, you won me over! :D
Sidepodsmoochies?
I think so. They were one of those interesting sets of peeps that I was forced to listen to in the late 80's (Zappa being another!) by a ex. And then I subjected Andy to them (and the rest) and he subjected me to Queen (which had managed to pass me completely by) and Marrillion (where I realised that I now understood the guy who had lain under a table at a party once apparently (assumed to be oops) *really* drunk going on about 'getting fishes job' and we'd all humoured him... only he had been telling the truth! - nothing like musicians for writing off celebration as drunken rambling ).
I'd already 'found' Hawkwind and other 'interesting' people though, all by myself, mainly down to living in Somerset and going to interesting parties in fields in buses with quadraphonic systems....) But that is rather earlier, lol.
not 90s but I likes these guys
http://www.last.fm/music/Encyclopedia/_/The+Girls+In+The+City
Where in Somerset?
I be in Darzet.
actually this is a better example
http://www.last.fm/music/Encyclopedia/_/You+Can+Say+No+(But+I+Hope+You+Don't)
They are from Yeovil and the singer works in Acorn Records. I went in there once not knowing this, presented him with his own CD straight from the rack on my sister's rec. So I asked him to sign it.
next stage, right?
i thought only Christine got those ;)
*eats toast watching convo quietly*
last.fm actually have the full track, and more from them here. haven't heard for years.
hehe :)
I lived in a village on the edge of Bridgwater, but roamed fairly freely accross from Glastonbury to Bath/Bristol and onwards... although mainly fields and recording studios (fixed and temporary :-D)
she gets the marriage proposals. i don't think spc is ready for those just yet.
Is that your name for a subscription charge then? ;)
haha i suppose so.... btw have you been drinking tonight by any chance :P
mmm. christine drank the place dry of rose yesterday. all i'm left with is red.
it had crossed my mind also :P
I have!
Haha :D
I've drunk a whole bottle of red
so that's a yes :P
:D
Ahh. I grew up in Beaminster, small town relatively near Yeovil/Dorchester. Moved away for ages and am now in Bridport.
pat's had more than me.
You know, some days you wake up, check out the sidepodcast comments, and just *nothing* makes any sense.
now I want more :-(
but it's so easy to drink
:D
I've been awake all evening and I don't know whats going on :(
:-)
You know it's a wierd moment in your life when you send an email to ask if you can put the following in the church notice sheet....
"Jono Waldock is trying to collect as many 2 litre fizzy drinks bottles with lids as possible for a project he is doing. If you could save them he would be very grateful as he needs 160. He can collect them at church, or pick them up if it is more convenient."?
hmm
You should have been here earlier
You say this town is getting you down.
oooo
I have *no* idea where my PCO cds are... I think that they may be missing, presumed borrowed by someone circa 1994.... although I do know that one was, um, repossed after a messy someone went off to uni and didn't bother communicating in the late 80's rofl...
And argh... they turn out to be playing a concert for the first time in ages, in my favourite building of all time (well, one of them, it was the one I would lurk in happily for hours, lol http://www.dlwp.com/ ), and I don't live just down the road anymore wah!! :-(
hehe i wasn't meaning it in a bad way :) i was looking for an explanation for the development of the sidepodlove :P
:D :D
Isn't that the norm around here?
completely
Not quite beer goggles, but close
What's the project?
LPG, nosey as ever :-D
Must be an "off" weekend
Sounds like an attempt at the mytbusters coke bottle rocket pack... ;)
A sailboat.
I remembered something on SPC!
maybe i'm just a happy person?
...yeah, it's the drink.
what drink sir? red of what type?
:D
aww
*pats mr c*
i'm building a catamaran....
red wine.
;)
hehehe :D aww
sounds interesting... a full size one?
i'm being nosy as to what sort
Phew! I was worried it was red cordial
*hopes you have that in the UK*
happy song I really do like this band. They have nerdy noises.
err, no. unless you mean blackcurrent cordial aka squash
i have no idea. it's in the kitchen. i would guess it's something they sell in tesco and doesn't cost too much.
i do know that it's a bottle, rather than a box...
actually listening tot he words maybe it isn't happy. it sounds happy
haha noooo, imagine this...
http://www.instructables.com/id/One-Day-Ndrua/
but better planned, and with the hulls each being 80 2 litre bottles strapped toegher...
I got mine in tesco for 5.99
love the title!
Not exactly. It's what you give 5 year olds to make them bounce off the walls
hold on, i need a top-up anyhow.
I've run out. Switching to beer.
unnamed energy drink?
hmm. i'm still awake at australia's awake in the morning. Just finished doing my work (why i had to leave you all) and now going to bed. how come you're still not talking about eurovision ;) Buono notte!
Ah - so anything with carmosine in then....
Me too. Seen them live.
not really. never mind, the moment is lost.
it's a 2006 vintage, jacobs creek, shiraz.
if i'm honest, we drink that because they used to advertise on friends.
I'm not entirely sure how I'm awake to be honest, I'm exhausted from work and sparkly trousers, typing is taking far longer than it should, but i'm just not tired and its horribly humid
I was on 2005 Tempranillo Rioja.
Ah, good choice. I love shiraz
bouncy
sshhh. no mention of the trousers...
my office is always 27 degrees and humid -. i made jokes about putting in a palm tree to make my point. they say that to make the heat less, they'd have to install a new air conditioning systems, and unfortunately us guys that sit next to the servers (more or less) just have to deal with it. well until i announced i was leaving. they're still not fixing it but i don't care anymore:)
i love that pat is obviously trying to get Steven into Last.fm
:D
Leaving to go where?
:D :D
I'm trying to get anyone who'll listen into a) Last.fm or b) Encyclopedia
Even bouncier
Oooo where are you off to next?
not sure - quite probably east coast us but i'm talking to a few people. likely (but not certain)...boston.
keep it up. i have a new game, i'm going through this list:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:1990s_pop_songs
and trying to listen to every track that last.fm can match. think i'm gonna struggle with gary barlow though.
quite the jetsetter then.
you're not going to bed early tonight are you :P
you just made me really happy
Was there only 114 songs in the 90s?
oh hang on, i've just checked the time... neither am i by the looks of things
holy cow that's a big list
Yep the rest was simply our imagination
erm. no. am working... again :(
it's a bit random. i'm not asking questions though.
I learnt something about myself from coming to the little backwater that is this small city in italy, so it's a positive growth blah blah...crap...so over this place. i can speak some italian, but the culture here got stuck in the past and as i want to move science forward, this place isn't it. somewhere in the boston group of unis/colleges will suit me quite nicely. i am optimistic :)
Hangin' Out Playin' Nintendo
working? aww :( that's not fair, on a sunday morning to.... hang on and drinking? omg you're a wine taster! :P
not me. i'm going. night (third time i said that now?)
nighht!!
Aha! It all makes sense
mr c to join up with james and oz on their adventures? :o
I feel like I'm in a backwater. What science was it again?
night!
if i am, i suck at my job. they all taste the same to me.
Hehe, thats cool. I like it!
*looks for classic game music from the snes and megadrive on youtube*
see ya (in about 2hrs i bet).
What a great series they were... and I don't drink. :D
Yay I got one!
Shh! You arn't meant to let anyone know that
oh... i'm sad that you are working so early in the morning though. you should definitely take this evening off from the live show, you'll be exhausted otherwise.
ooops!
You're going to have to tell us what you do...
nah, it's fine. i work odd hours, just this week has been mega busy.
shall sleep till 2, and then we'll talk about the show.
i'm a very bad wine taster.
"Let's not make plans, let's just have the best time ever"
But entertaining chatter, after the wine
I'm off now. Thanks for tonight guys, it's been......interesting :D
Morning all. ;) :)
I'm going to have to invite myself over.
that has now inspired me to revisit sonic 2. good times.
ni..mor....n...night! :P
Morning everyone!
Eurovision doesn't make any sense to you? :)
as long as you enjoy it i suppose :)
night
:D
Goodbye Scott and hello Journeyer.
certainly do.
Um? I think it was the year that metal band with the costumes won, I was very confused
The Best Days of Last Summer
^^ what he said.
Where have I heard that before?
Have we moved from 90's music to 80's films at some point?
oohh "Your musical compatibility with LukeofCydonia is Very High"
*high five*
Dunno, maybe they referenced it from somewhere
:D well that's all the matters then :D
I've run out of Encyclodpedia to link but they have another album out soon.
Its no good... I'm going to have to sucumb to Last.fm
My poor children aren't going to know what's hit them, and the solar briefcase is going to have to be bought before I use the annual bills worth of power running the computer for even more hours a day
(redface)
yay! one down.... now where is steven :P
does that mean you move up a stage?
I haven't been following the links so he is wasting his time. I have scanned the comments while doing something else
Excellent!
I be here if anyone wishes to friend me: http://www.last.fm/user/PWotton
Although to be fair, my 2nd highest band is like, 200 plays, then muse are top with 6 billion four hundred and 5 trillion, so as long as you play a bit of muse, then it should be fine :P
If she joins the SPC group - yes
lol
its not a huge thing to succumb to though... olol.... still not tempted by anything else, its just the convenience of not having to go and find CDs and the inevitable piles everywhere...
I did a Muse-athon the other day so this may be why.
aww... we are going to have to think about this more carefully....
Right, i give up, i've been looking at chicken wire/garden mesh for too long. Theres only so much fizzy drinks bottle related maths a man can take. It really is sleep time.
night all
:P NASCAR All-Star Race is on right now...
see ya jon.
night!
I have no idea... I'm not even sure that I feature on the scale as yet...
erk!
Hey - I can go and find all the odd and obscure things and infect the last.fm accounts of everyone else!
:-P
That's a crazy thing.
Bye Jon.
Tell all
ERK!
My last.fm profile is currently has over 68000 plays listed...
even mine, i have such a bad memory
night Jon
It's an All-Star race, so it's all about the fun - and the 1 million dollars.
that's good though isn't it?
Goodnight, Jon.
located
Shows how much music I listen too - thats just the stuff I have digitized and not the vinyl...
Right.. going to go and read a book and sleep now!
"Your musical compatibility with f1_lou is Very High"
"Your musical compatibility with sidepodcast is Super"
"Your musical compatibility with Flibster is High"
Like stepping back into the 70s isn't it? ;-)
Fiat is #3 behind Toyota and Ford? Daaaaang.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/05/16/AR2009051602319.html
ahh, so you're an aqua fan too?
Too true, too true. ;)
LOL !
Here
Who woulda thunked it....
Both Aqua fans on the same website.. ;)
certainly not. i have no clue how we are similar.
:D :D :P
Who would have thunk. *TWO* aqua fans
i'm currently listening to "five", what does that say about you?
My stepsister liked Barbie Girl, although she was a mid-teen at the time
wait, wait wait, barbie girl aqua?
dr jones, jones, calling dr jones aqua?
Dunno, but it says you suck
Cut price version of S Club 7?
i am sorry i missed you all, i had internet problems when i woke at 4am! boooo!
that will be my eclectic taste in music :D hehe
the very same.
actually "turn back time" was rather good. although right now i'm going through my list.
night lpg
ah that sucks
does that mean i do too, if we're 'very highly' matched?
good, but forgettable. barbie girl all the way! :P
good. now i have this awesome website for you to check out, it's here
No Aqua song was good,ever.
Night LPG
whilst I was watching alone, I worked out why I enjoy Eurovision - it takes me back to a time when it was acceptable to like boybands with synchronised dance routines :D
now have dr jones stuck in my head :(
the clock says 2am but i don't believe it
it means i have some songs on my ipod by artists you like :) or similar artists :P
there was never such a time
Parallel universe - must be.
i was 12 when the backstreet boys were huge, it was great :D
Ok, it's admission time - one of the girls in the house we shared at Uni really hated that song.
So, while slightly drunk, we handcuffed her down to a chair and put that song on repeat - then went to the pub across the road for a couple of drinks.
My 6 year old niece would disagree with you (and unfortunately, so would my wife!)
so would i.
OH MY GOOOOOOOOODNESS!
How was she when you came back? ;)
wonder what they are
feeling old now
How much wine did you say you've had?
you evil man!
telling you. turn back time is a good song.
hold on...
Rene Dif from Aqua now advertises potato chips, judges talent shows and is about to star in his first Danish movie. "Aqua-Lene" has started a solo career. Her husband also continued with his music, but he's gone all serious!
No
when were the backstreet boys huge? i was probably younger than 12...
Man music: http://www.last.fm/music/Ocean+Colour+Scene/_/The+Circle
You know too much.
Angry and still drunk...
We picked up the chair and put in her bedroom and sent in her boyfriend with the keys in order to have the best possible chance of survival. ;)
late 90s
if sarah mclaughlin recorded this song. you'd think it was a decent track. ignoring other songs from the "group", it stands as a decent tune.
N-word All Star about to kick off: http://www.justin.tv/be_new2it
Hahahaha! Hilarious! Hahaha!
WAY too much. ;)
well apparently they include Sigur Ros (amazing people), Ms Blachford, Coldplay, Guillemots, and muse.
not bad
I still had to live in the same house as her for the next year...
She did get revenge...
I'm off to get a haircut, and now I think I'll listen to Aqua on the way. Bye!
I've been wondering what Ms Blachford's married name is, and if it begins with the letter C. That would be funny.
ooooh drop.io the finished product?
Details?
blachford.
agreed. :D
I had a haircut this am. Maybe I should have done before/.after
okay own up, who stole my evening? and early morning for that matter. anyways, time for bed now. Night you lovely sidepodpeople ;) x
I think her married name IS still Blachford. At least that's what I remember Mr C saying when I asked. :)
:)
beat me to the punch. :P
Ah, so you be Mr B really..
ESC? :)
I'm off to buy some wine.
sidepodhugs&kisses lou.
Alcohol and hair dye...
night Lou
AKA the numbers man
um, ouch.
sounds like a reason to not touch alcohol again :-)
You were asleep before 4am?
http://www.last.fm/music/Youthmovies/_/SoandSo+%26+SoandSo
mr. christine.
so mr. c.
i'm gonna head off too i think, night all.
OI!!
Arg, fail. Track not listed.
sidepodhugs&kisses lukeh.
Night
I got that but I was being nosy and you're too good at avoiding it.
Actually - I continued to drink for a couple of years after that...
Haha! I tried last year, to no avail. I don't expect anyone else to do any better than I did. :P
Will take your word for it :-)
you guys already know too much about me. it's not ever morning i defend aqua.
There is something to be said for big throaty V8s on an oval at night.
while playing rock music in the background in winamp
I have never seen this race before
Ditto. It is even more entertainment focussed than most NASCAR races. It isn't a championship event. Purely for the Million Dollars from the sponsor.
:D next thing i know, you have ace of base in your playlist too. :P
Dude, they're from Denmark!
oops.
You do let things slip after a drink or two in person.
My sister loved them! I didn't
Maybe F1 should do that
I like em - even better than Aqua. :)
i'd certainly watch.
I'd very much agree. :) Would be tons of fun. :D
How can I be listening to one of the most calming songs in the world ( http://www.last.fm/music/Blur/_/Sweet+Song ) while also watch N-word
uh-oh... :P
i dunno. they copied the abba model a little to closely for my liking. although thankfully skipped the beards.
If only Bernie had a business brain
N-word is a term I picked up from the most excellent Pressdog.
good night/morning all... sleepy time!
He does - he just doesn't use it as well as he could...
see ya gavin.
the music is different, though. less of those high-hitting notes, more pop and bounce. and they made more of those catchy tunes than aqua did. :)
Night Gavin
Good night Gavin
fair enough. can't argue with that.
Me neither. Ace of Base stuff is certainly catchy.
My sister loved Ace of Base at age 14, about 3yrs later my stepsister (RIP) loved Aqua. I can't say I'll ever understand teenage female music taste but I hear it can be very eclectic, particularly post-16. Much more so than males of same age.
Why are we talking about 1990s Europop bands? That's just... bizarre.
it was eurovision. also, i'm going through a list:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:1990s_pop_songs
It's a follow on from the Eurovision contest
Fair point. Hahaha!
It seems you and Christine have a joint LFM a/c?
Play something with guitars instead of that poppy rubbish: http://www.last.fm/music/Jane's+Addiction/_/True+Nature
yup.
Just dug out all my Split Enz CD's to encode onto the server.
:D
ahh, quality. which album?
Is that not confusing?
It means they can blame each other for any dodgy choices
nope. we sit two feet apart. it would be really confusing if we were playing two separate songs simultaneously.
that too. did i mention christine like aqua?
There HAS to be a good story behind this. :D
Not with headphones sir, but if you happen to both like the same stuff that counts as a result
All of them. :D
I wish that Crowded house would bring out the rarities box they have been talking about for the last 3 years!
that would kinda anti-social though?
*kinda seem
this all-star race seems to have enforced pit stops
Maybe. I haven't really though it through in detail.
It looks like 50 laps to set the start order for a ten lap race
It has one, on Lap 25. There are enforced cautions after Lap 50, Lap 70, and Lap 90, but they're not required to pit.
They have green-flag stints of 50 laps, 20 laps, 20 laps again, and 10 laps.
How bizarre.
i'll suggest it tomorrow... pat says we should stop speaking and only communicate via the comments.
Weird
Trying to keep the field close.
Not entirely sure how that conclusion was leapt to.. I was only thinking that it would be nice to have individual LFM recs
:D
only joking.
Right. Time to go watch a film.
Tonights film is a newish one. Yes Man.
Not holding out much hope for it. Stars Jim Carrey and is based on a book by a british chap who is very funny.
Night chaps and chapettes.
book was brilliant. film looks awful. was meant to star jack black?
I think most of us get the impression you communicate on SPC a lot of the time anyway :-)
bye
shhhhh.
bored of the nascar thing now
NIght Flibster
Charmless Man = top Blur track for the lyrics alone
When I thought it was 50 laps I thought it was fun. When i thought it was 50 + 10 I could see the point. Now it is quite clear that the ad breaks between the segments are financing the million it is dull
it IS true, you know. :P
one of the things that made them unique was they had so much passing - too much passing at times, even.
The Car of Tomorrow (COT) has changed all that. Now, they seem to have F1-like overtaking numbers.
Which is ridiculous on a mile and a half oval
True.
Digger Cam!
And sneaky job by the leaders to trick those behind them into pitting...
I thought it would be interesting and for a while it was, then it got samey.
I have given up on it
Anything else nice on TV?
The moment you saw that, we had a wreck...
said, rather. Hehehe. Funny that.
No
need sleep, see ya some time during Sunday..
night pat.
OK, I bought my wine. Am I too late to get started?
hehe. am still here. i'll raise a glass to ya pauli.
Still? That's a big one for Saturday night
hehe. 'bout 1.5hrs, then i sleeps.
5 AM? What time did Christine hit the sack?
Well, I hope you are getting the work stuff sorted out.
erm. not sure. maybe 11:30?
absolutely. and it's nice to have company.
Dang. Oh well. Hope you finish whatever you need to finish. :)
cheers sir ;)
damnit, sunrise. g'night internets.
The light! It burns!!! :D
Good morning, Europe! :)
heheh. i surely does.
just realised there's no daily post, but please forgive me for not writing one now. catch ya tomorrow.
Sun not gone down here, night guv
See ya Mr C
you do that now? I thought the missus does that? Later, Mr C. :)
i am back with hair that looks remarkably like it did before i left, only an inch shorter and a whooole lot straighter. time for some cake that is not a cake and is actually pudding.
I've just had a look at the upcoming schedule on the main page and I know I've had a few beers so far this evening but should I be seeing Chinese lettering, at least I think it's Chinese.
nice Sunday everybody
I still do it. Sometimes he likes to cover me if I don't, but he usually forgets.
What's wrong with 11:30?
Morning everyone. I am spending some time with polar bears this morning :)
Pictures on my twitter
They stand up and everything.
polar bears!
Daily post up now:
http://www.sidepodcast.com/2009/05/17/daily-17th-may-2009/
Morning.
Film isn't entirely terrible. Did laugh at a couple of bits - wouldn't pay to watch it though.
morning.
