Hello folks, it looks like it is my turn to write a daily once again. Thanks to all those who have gone before me this week, it's been a good run of links and lists recently. This weekend we're looking forward to all the action from Monaco but until then, here are a few things we're talking about:

  • In a slightly non-F1 related post, the great folks at Axis of Oversteer have been working on their tilt-shifting skills and produced a fabulous slideshow of photos from the Porsche Supercup. Needless to say Mr C is very jealous, and I'm worried that tilt-shifting is going to be his new obsession after typefaces. Stay tuned!
  • Whilst we're off the F1 topic, I posted a quick entry on I Heart Franck yesterday regarding teh upcoming Superleague Formula race this weekend. After waiting more than a month for the second event, we've now got back to back racing, starting in Assen. I still have no idea how it works, but I've posted a few words anyway.
  • And since I am self promoting, it would be wrong not to plug the ninth part of the second series of Life in the Fast Lane. This is the last time you can vote this series, so if you haven't already, make sure you head on over and have your say in how Melissa decides her future career. It's all in your hands! If I still haven't convinced you, there's also a bit of Damon Hill. What's not to like?

That should do it for now. Let us know what you're up to this weekend and how you are watching the race - whether it is from under a duvet on the sofa, to a swimming pool in Monaco, we want to know! I'll see you in the comments.

    Hi Saturday.

You may like Peter Serafinowicz's latest tweet, a link to an article he wrote..

I once even downloaded Shaun of the Dead to use in my reel, because it was easier than ripping the DVD.

I'll be suing myself for pirating my own show.

i found out Andy is out again :( bad times.

  • Amy15/05/2010 at 13:20

i found out Andy is out again :( bad times.

Andy has had a terrible clay season, I almost feel bad for him.

If Rafa wins tonight and then Roger wins, Roger has to face him in the final which I don't think he'd win and I would be sad.

But if Rafa wins tonight and makes it to the final he moves up to #2 in the rankings which would mean he would be #2 seed at the French Open. I would like this because with him seeded 3 there is a 50/50 chance of him being in Roger's half of the draw which I don't like. So I think I want him to win.

Would it worked if we hoped for Rafa to win and then Roger to win the final or have I got muddled up/divorced from reality?

  • Alianora La Canta15/05/2010 at 13:58

Can't remember if I've told you or not, but I got some results this week and I've passed medical word processing and audio typing.

that would work, and it could happen because it happened last year! I'm just pessimistic when it comes to Roger v Rafa matches :D

    Hi Marilene

    Qualy was....Crowded...

But not as crowded as it might have been due to Alfonso getting over familiar with the barriers in FP3.....

  • Marilene Riddle15/05/2010 at 15:05

Well he wasn't stellar but ended up 4th so not too bad....

The Macca, that was expected to be good, didn't appear to be at the races today and ended up 5th and 8th...

Rosberg beat Mr Burns but was unhappy as he felt he could have done better following a great Q2 time...

Well beating "Mr Burns" is the norm for him now (except when the team tries to screw him over). He needs new challenges.

Am I the only one who is loving the Red Bull poles? Seeing as how they don't seem to be particularly reliable, the race winner is bound to be less predictable.

Could be worse, could be Bahrain. Which was a half a lap race. ;)

you can be mean about all of the races this year... but not monaco... no point in going to a boring race next year is there :P

ive decided that for me that is the way to get through f1, you have to be doing other stuff at the same time thats enjoyable, then even if the race has been rubbish the whole time was enjoyable!

  • Pat W15/05/2010 at 20:56

I don't expect a great race at all... but it is Monaco

I mean, in hindsight I'd wished I'd turned the Spanish race off. Not looking forward to Turkey.

It's not our fault Spain was rubbish!

It was interesting for the storylines of how the teams have moved on, but storylines ain't racing.

  • lou15/05/2010 at 21:04

It's not our fault Spain was rubbish!

i was convinced it as going to be rubbish before it started... because it was dry..

however i have a strange ability to watch even the most boring monaco race over and over and over again...

  • Jon Waldock15/05/2010 at 21:04

Yes but I didn't say Franck was racing one. I assume he has way more sense. After all this is someone who lost a fight with a football

Think of it this way, I have a tendancy to get my predictions wrong, so, considering I said it would be a dry race, its almost certain to be wet...

  • Jon Waldock15/05/2010 at 21:06

its something about Monaco though, the walls, the constant tension that someone might crash or something might happen (if never does, you'd think we'd learn).

    it draws me in

  • Steven Roy15/05/2010 at 21:07

we need you to predict the following races as dry races, sir:

    Turkey

    Canada

    Europe

    Great Britain

    Germany

    Hungary

    Belgium

    Italy

    Singapore

    Japan

    Korea

    Brazil

    thanx

i watched last years about 6 times in all and it wasn't a great race... that might have had something to do with Jenson...

Did you predict Indy rookie practice as dry? Takuma Sato hasn't got his mileage in yet. He and some others have to run at certain speeds for 10 laps to be allowed to practice properly.

You know, the more I see him, I'm starting to agree that Ed Milliband does indeed look like a young Bernie Winters!

    Where's Schnorbitz?

  • Alison15/05/2010 at 21:37

    oh?

  • Andy Taylor15/05/2010 at 22:14

Oh dear. I'm very scared about new job....

So long as it doesn't involve extensive travel inside a small blue wooden box, I'm sure it won't be too bad :)

  • Alison15/05/2010 at 22:15

    Why? You're more than capable

Yeah I'm just nervous about it all working out properly. The idea that I could end up unemployed has kinda struck me :P

  • Bassano15/05/2010 at 22:17

Yeah I'm just nervous about it all working out properly. The idea that I could end up unemployed has kinda struck me :P

    Err ...still thinking

  • Alison15/05/2010 at 22:19

    Err ...still thinking

    Yeah.

This has made me more terrified as it's reminded me about my evac chair training last week. I'm not sure if any of you have encountered these but they're for evacuating disabled people down stairs in case of fire.

I think I'd rather face the flames than go down more stairs in one of those things!!

  • lou15/05/2010 at 22:20

ergh! Angry Birds is toooo addictive!

  • Alison15/05/2010 at 22:20

In!? Don't they usually have handles and are like those Roman chairs that slaves carried their masters in?

  • Bassano15/05/2010 at 22:22

ergh! Angry Birds is toooo addictive!

  • Alison15/05/2010 at 22:23

In!? Don't they usually have handles and are like those Roman chairs that slaves carried their masters in?

It's like a cross between a pram and a deckchair. You half wheel, half slide it down the stairs. I had to sit in it to let someone practice, I'd forgotten how purely terrifying it was. It's like a rolercoaster but involving concrete steps...

  • Andy Taylor15/05/2010 at 22:23

    Angry Birds??

It's the number one game for the iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad (HD version)

  • Jon Waldock15/05/2010 at 22:23

WOW! Alison! How can you moan at that? That looks SO much fun!

  • Andy Taylor15/05/2010 at 22:24

  • Alison15/05/2010 at 22:25

    Don't Panic

Too late. I'm angst ridden. I might ask if I can do one night a week at old job down there. That would almost pay my rent I think.... Maybe that would make me feel better.

  • lou15/05/2010 at 22:26

    'scuse me

    oh sorry..
