It's Lou's birthday today! Lou has been commenting on the site since August 2007 and I know that everyone will want to wish her a happy birthday. Today is the day to do it. We're also talking about some F1 related things today, though:

  • RG has spent a long time putting together an about page for his Timo Glock blog. There is so much information in there, it must have taken quite a lot of research, but as RG says - now you need never get a quiz question about Glock wrong.
  • Jackie has been writing a multi-part series of posts on Pitlane Fanatic, focusing on the F1 naughty step. There are plenty of tables and pretty graphs that we love so much, illustrating who has picked up the most penalties and fines, and things like that. A really fascinating read.
  • We're onto our fourth Forgotten F1 Team in the mini series so far, with another one on the way later today. Yesterday's featured team was Spyker, who admittedly weren't that long ago, but their tenure in Formula One was so brief, it's very easy to forget about them.

That'll do it for now. At Sidepodcast HQ, we are aching from all the moving about over the weekend, but hopefully things will be nice and normal for the week ahead. Fingers crossed. I'll see you in the comments.

I'm a little alarmed that the wiki is getting all Campos on us. Why does it insist on being called META?

  • Steven Roy11/10/2009 at 23:08

    it is?

Says so on the front page. I assume Christine put it there. I was going to mention it earlier but I assumed it would appear in the daily post so I decided to leave it.

I used to remember stuff, then I had to learn a million and one accountancy things and it pushed the rest out. That reminds me, I ought to start revising soon.

ah mine would have been a laptop bag. I'm not very good with bags. Although it is, to a certain extent a chicken and egg problem. I'm not used to carrying them so I'm paranoid I won't remember them.

  • Amy12/10/2009 at 08:28

i dont like that they give you two options and dont let you choose both. Im dreading my plane food decision (12 hours til check in, woohoo!)

  • Alex Andronov12/10/2009 at 08:30

Do you have to stay up?

it's a nine o'clock train! I got on a train that leaves an hour after my normal going to work train does and still had half and hour for coffee.

  • Amy12/10/2009 at 08:38

my flight tomorrow leaves at 8.50 and i have to be checked in by 7.20 and i like to check in early just in case. It takes 20 minutes to get to the airport on the skybus and 20-40 minutes to the skybus depot from my house depending on trams which are infrequent before 7am so i am yet to work out what time to get up in the morning. Maybe i just wont go to bed and keep you fine folk company ;)

It didn't race (it was a special anniversary livery for display purposes only), but it gives us an idea of what the actual livery could look like.

The TOTAL red might spoil the whole thing, though.

  • Alex Andronov12/10/2009 at 09:28

oh my god train breakfast looks DELICIOUS

it was very nice. It also included croisant and a roll. Which, as is traditional for Chanel crossings I had with Orange Marmalade.

I guess you may know, but in case you don't the name Marmalde is supposedly from a time when Mary Queen of Scots was being secreted across the channel and back into Scotland. Returning from hiding in France. Supposedly she was feeling sea sick. Her French chambermaid wanted to prepare some cooked orange for her which was known to calm the stomach in France. The Scots on the boat asked her what she was making and the maid responded Madam es Malade. And there supposedly the name is from.

Not too bad... got the dreaded C++ 3 hour lecture at 1 though so that's when it all starts going pear shaped :(

Plus this computer I'm using is slower than Luca badoer. In a 3 wheeler. *shakes fist at slowputer*

  • Dank12/10/2009 at 11:01

Jake Humphrey took part in his first race yesterday.

    His results:

    - Qualified 41st, but started 31st in race 1, as those who were competing in the M and 211 classes didn't take part in the first race.

    - Lap 1: 2:26s - 33 seconds slower than the leader.

    - Lap 2: 2:03s - 17 seconds slower.

    - Lap 5: Under 2 minutes - but was last.

    - Lap 6: 1:51s - 8 seconds slower.

    - Lap 7: one lap down.

With the absentees returning for Races 2 and 3, and with the grid restricted to the top 38, that ended Jake's weekend.

And this might be why he was slow to begin with:

Plus this computer I'm using is slower than Luca badoer. In a 3 wheeler. *shakes fist at slowputer*

You never know, he might be fast in a 3 wheeler... there are less wheels to think about.

true! I feel he should be given a go on Top Gear to redeem himself :)

How is everyone elses monday been so far?

Mine is good, although my back is killing me. I would advise people never to live on the top floor of a building without a lift, or if you do live somewhere like that, don't move out.

Are you all moved out now then? Probably been asked that a million times so apologies if so...

My back hurts from just sitting on the rubbish uni bus. Moving out would probably make me melt so kudos to the both of you :P

no cake:( there's the strange tradition at my work (maybe all of italy i have no idea) that if it's your event - farewell/birthday etc - you bring your own cake. seems kind of dumb to me but hey. we just had lunch and that's enough for me. There is talk of beer later in the week. beer beats cake everytime ;)

you need one of those travel books that just have pictures in it. it's called the multilanguage travel companion - you can construct phrases easily by pointing and the last page is a erasable mini white board thing so people can draw a map of where you need to go. it's awesome. but you should just learn french ;) Have a great time in paris

Meanwhile, Williams-Cosworth. Poor Rubens and Nico H, they're pretty much doomed.

That said, it might allow one of the new teams to duck out of their Cosworth deal and get a new set of engines. (i.e. the Toyota engines that Williams will free up, or maybe even the Renault engines that RBR will free up if they're allowed to use Mercs next year)

depends on how the work day develops. thing is that if a leave the lab after 6pm I'm not allowed to enter again (I'm a 'visitor' here). so if it's a good day, I may stay late.

williams-renault had tons of marketing AND racing value. alas, frank's anti-manufacturer stance as of late may have meant that he hasn't been seeing things as objectively as he should be...

  • me12/10/2009 at 12:55

So did everyone except cosworth, I think :(

    good point.

his words were something like "it won't be competitive", and that was back when there was a two-tier suggestion and cossie users could have a different rear wing.

i really think now that he's become too anti-manufacturer for his own good. the only positive i can see here is if Frank can position Williams as the numero one Cossie team (i.e. dictates direction of development), which will be crucial next year. i don't think Cosworth is included in next year's engine freeze, is that right?

  • me12/10/2009 at 12:59

sorry we missed it. glad you had a good time though :)

don't worry, I know you were busy with the moving. there will be other times (I hope...)

BTW, I really liked London, and thanks again to those that recommended me places to go (F1 in the Science Museum is still there, I loved the car in the roof but besides that...)

  • me12/10/2009 at 13:15

unless that's what williams are doing at kemble today...

    hmmm... Rob? :D

Mind you, if they WERE running Cossies, wouldn't it have leaked out by now?

I didn't approach anything, but in the 10min I was in that exhibition the alarm tripped at least five times :D

did anyone see the projected drawing that Derrin Brown did? It heavily featured a Science museum security guard. A different one however.

  • me12/10/2009 at 13:19

he said he'd let us know if they were there.

i'm 99.999% sure they are though, given there are no publicity events requiring x2 trucks to attend, and so far as i know, little for an f1 team to do in wales.

the top right pic here: http://www.kemblecam.co.uk/ shows some action where the transporters normally hang out.

though how you'd tell the difference between a toyota and a cossie purely by ear is anyone's guess.

Sadly these days, you can't tell any difference. That is something I miss from F1 as a kid - Ferrari and Honda V12's, Renault's V10 and Ford's V8 were all very different!

i'm guessing they're using up their remaining straight-line days before the season ends. maybe to give nico more seat time?

Watching the onboards from last year's F1 DVD, there IS still a distinct difference between the different engines, but it's probably harder to spot now.

unless I've misunderstood the rules, the thing is that this year you can't do that kind of test in secret. if they're running an engine, someone of the FIA should be there to enforce the engine limit (and we know how secure is FIA with secrets...).

  • RubberGoat (Gavin Brown)12/10/2009 at 13:24

I agree with the onboards - although they are very small.

hehe, lovely, i am not sure it is quite working yet, might need a couple more days exercise before it kicks in properly ;)

  • Gavin Brown (RubberGoat)12/10/2009 at 14:49

Although i was talking to someone yesterday and they pointed out that it isnt all that different from Bourdais running at Le Mans as he reckoned the 908 was pretty close to an f1 car

and was just thinking......they are definitely different because bourdais is an awesome lmp driver...not so good at f1....so the cars must be different

Similar - but then so is a SuperLeague car ;)

  • guille2306 (in Paris)12/10/2009 at 14:49

nonsense. peugoet weren't feeding the data back to STR. ferrari will be feeding ferrari.

from a two years old car fitted with gp2 tyres?

  • Nick12/10/2009 at 14:49

nonsense. peugoet weren't feeding the data back to STR. ferrari will be feeding ferrari.

Oh for technical data for next years car? I dont know how much they can get. that car has probably run so much i dont know how much they could learn.

The aero concept is quite different, the chassis will have to be bigger next year, and the powertrain will have to run on a Mclaren ECU rather than a Ferrari one, so it may be limited.

  • Jon Waldock12/10/2009 at 14:49

Apparently you can, according to some people. To me, the rule is dumb, but there must be no exceptions until it is repealed!

  • me12/10/2009 at 14:54

nonsense. peugoet weren't feeding the data back to STR. ferrari will be feeding ferrari.

you have no idea what they've fitted to it. no-one does.

  • guille2306 (in Paris)12/10/2009 at 14:55

There's no doubt he is a good driver - but I was trying to say that it's not going around the testing rules like massa might be.

if you keep to the letter of the rule, he's OK. You can do that, he's in a car at least two years old and he's not using F1 2009 tyres.

  • Gavin Brown (RubberGoat)12/10/2009 at 14:56

So it's been cloudy all day, yet I get on the train and the sun comes out - shining right onto my glossy netbook screen. Bah!

  • me12/10/2009 at 14:58

if you keep to the letter of the rule, he's OK. You can do that, he's in a car at least two years old and he's not using F1 2009 tyres.

the point is f1 testing during the season is banned. there should be no loopholes or get-outs. massa is driving an f1 and he is not running demonstration tyres.

  • guille2306 (in Paris)12/10/2009 at 15:01

you have no idea what they've fitted to it. no-one does.

that's stretching the suspicious too far. (and last time FIA checked the tyres, I guess they always do. not that that means much, but...). the tyres are numbered and counted for each weekend due to the limit on new sets each driver has, you can't steal a couple to do a test.

in any case, running this year tyres on a 2007 car will give you little information as the aerodynamics and the mechanical grip are completely different

well, that's another problem. testing in a car less than 2 years old is banned, not what massa is doing. fix the loop hole, but don't pretend that an F1 team stops doing what they do best, finding loopholes (ask Brawn, Williams and Toyota)

Right there. They're allocated and barcoded before they leave the factory so the FIA can keep track.

    Doh...

We had a game of football on lunch, and I fell very awkwardly onto my arm. It was numb but I thought it was OK so I carried on for another 30 mins of lunch. Lesson after lunch my arm was all funny writing and stuff, so I went to the school office. They thought I'd better go home because 'I was concussed' so I did so... although I felt fine still...

...at 7pm, when my mum got in, she asked what was wrong when I was watching TV and i had my elbow all swollen. I said it was a bit bruised, and with her having medical stuff behind her, revealed that it was in fact broken, henceforth a 5 hour wait in a hospital to get that confirmed and a sling!

    psh. arms are overrated.

  • Journeyer12/10/2009 at 15:41

besides 1994 this is a pretty wild season.

oddly enough, it shares a key characteristic with 1994 - 1 driver dominates the start of the season by winning 6 of the first 7 races, but has had trouble scoring consistently in the 2nd half of the season.

The date of Thanksgiving is based on an old english festival called Harvest Festival. It celebrates the completion of the growing season. Because the original Colonies in the US were further south this was much later than the UK, canada being north was earlier

    See ya Scott.

meaning they have to race at either brands hatch or some other track like snetterton.

  • Scott in Italy12/10/2009 at 16:17

    Massa in chusetts ;)

your spelling is better this time! ;)

  • Jon Waldock12/10/2009 at 16:18

meaning they have to race at either brands hatch or some other track like snetterton.

Silverstone. You can't race f1 at any other tracks

  • Journeyer12/10/2009 at 16:18

meaning they have to race at either brands hatch or some other track like snetterton.

they can't - those tracks aren't up to F1 standards - not even Brands.

  • Nick12/10/2009 at 16:18

meaning they have to race at either brands hatch or some other track like snetterton.

Silverstone is the only F1 standard track at the moment. they want to upgrade donnington and move the race there, but the problem is they signed a deal, but dont have the cash...

  • Jon Waldock12/10/2009 at 16:18

they can't - those tracks aren't up to F1 standards - not even Brands.

    especially brands!!

  • Nick12/10/2009 at 16:19

your spelling is better this time! ;)

    :P (I googled, shhhh)

  • Journeyer12/10/2009 at 16:19

    especially brands!!

well, other than Silverstone and Donington, it's the only other British circuit in the last 50 years to host an F1 race...

  • Nick12/10/2009 at 16:21

well, other than Silverstone and Donington, it's the only other British circuit in the last 50 years to host an F1 race...

    What about aintree?

Although it looked a bit horsey last time i had a look!

  • Edgar12/10/2009 at 16:21

they can't - those tracks aren't up to F1 standards - not even Brands.

Then take it off the schedule and replace with US Grand Prix.

  • Journeyer12/10/2009 at 16:22

    What about aintree?

last hosted an F1 race 52 years ago. ;)

Although it looked a bit horsey last time i had a look!

indeed. :D not the car-type of racetrack...

  • Nick12/10/2009 at 16:22

Then take it off the schedule and replace with US Grand Prix.

I dont think there is anywhere up to standard in the US if Indy isnt an option. Even that might need to be resurfaced...

  • guille2306 (in Paris)12/10/2009 at 16:22

Which brings me back to my point - he could give Silverstone a multiyear deal if Donington can't pull this off (contract clauses and all that). But he doesn't want to do it unless he needs to do it.

and then Silverstone will say him that it's too late, and the teams and F1 sponsors will kill Bernie because there won't be British GP next year...

  • Edgar12/10/2009 at 16:22

    What about aintree?

Well if Brands Hatch is not under standards for the Henry Surtees fiasco then fix it.

  • Journeyer12/10/2009 at 16:23

Then take it off the schedule and replace with US Grand Prix.

That'd be like cutting off your nose to spite your face, I think... Replacing a bad problem with a worse one.

Besides, knowing Bernie, he'd replace Britain with India or someother Asian country.

  • Nick12/10/2009 at 16:23

last hosted an F1 race 52 years ago. ;)

47 years ago according to wikipedia :P

  • Journeyer12/10/2009 at 16:23

and then Silverstone will say him that it's too late, and the teams and F1 sponsors will kill Bernie because there won't be British GP next year...

Damon Hill mentioned over the weekend (and many times before then) that Silverstone is ready, but will only agree to a multi-year deal.

  • Edgar12/10/2009 at 16:23

Then take it off the schedule and replace with US Grand Prix.

Then take it to Watkins Glen or Mid Ohio.

  • Journeyer12/10/2009 at 16:24

Well if Brands Hatch is not under standards for the Henry Surtees fiasco then fix it.

It hasn't been up to F1 standard long before that - ever since the late 90s, I'd think.

Nice to see you're starting to get the hang of quoting, too.

  • Nick12/10/2009 at 16:24

Then take it to Watkins Glen or Mid Ohio.

I dont know about mid ohio, but watkins glen is a long way from F1 standard!

  • Edgar12/10/2009 at 16:25

Nice to see you're starting to get the hang of quoting, too.

    thanks

after they put the new surface in the oval, certainly yes

  • Journeyer12/10/2009 at 16:25

Then take it to Watkins Glen or Mid Ohio.

Now those are pretty cool places to go to. The Glen has also been witness to lots of F1 history. But again, are they willing to spend money to upgrade the track? And is Bernie willing to bring F1 to upstate New York?

  • Journeyer12/10/2009 at 16:26

I dont know about mid ohio, but watkins glen is a long way from F1 standard!

The Glen has actually been the longest-running host of the USGP, but last hosted an F1 race in the late 70s or early 80s.

  • Edgar12/10/2009 at 16:28

Now those are pretty cool places to go to. The Glen has also been witness to lots of F1 history. But again, are they willing to spend money to upgrade the track? And is Bernie willing to bring F1 to upstate New York?

Well I'd be able to go if so because i live in north carolina that would be nice

  • guille2306 (in Paris)12/10/2009 at 16:28

I dont know about mid ohio, but watkins glen is a long way from F1 standard!

there is not circuit in the US up to F1 standards, except for the Indy infield. any circuit would need to be upgraded or built from scratch, and it will be in the same position as Donington now (actually, worse because at least they have plans)

  • Edgar12/10/2009 at 16:29

I dont know about mid ohio, but watkins glen is a long way from F1 standard!

then take it to like one of those street circuits like san jose or denver.

  • guille2306 (in Paris)12/10/2009 at 16:29

But again, are they willing to spend money to upgrade the track? And is Bernie willing to bring F1 to upstate New York?

two answers for the price of one: no

  • Jon Waldock12/10/2009 at 16:30

then take it to like one of those street circuits like san jose or denver.

Edgar there are no other F1 circuits other than Indy

ok then Canada at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

  • guille2306 (in Paris)12/10/2009 at 16:31

they must convert a CART track into an F1 Valencia-like circuit. It will cost a lot of money...

  • Edgar12/10/2009 at 16:31

Edgar there are no other F1 circuits other than Indy

Ok I'll compromise what about Canada.

  • guille2306 (in Paris)12/10/2009 at 16:32

  • Edgar12/10/2009 at 16:34

    It's already got a GP

    if not maybe at mosport.

  • Journeyer12/10/2009 at 16:35

Edgar there are no other F1 circuits other than Indy

Joe's mentioned Long Beach more than once. But again, would Bernie ever want to host a modern-day F1 race on the US West Coast?

  • Edgar12/10/2009 at 16:36

they must convert a CART track into an F1 Valencia-like circuit. It will cost a lot of money...

I didn't think any of you knew anything about CART and why can''t they be CART is very similar to Formula 1.

    Nth Donington Extension on AUTOSPORT:

    http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/79404

    Gillett:

"We have made great strides in recent weeks and greatly appreciate the additional time allowed to us to finalise the information for public distribution in what has been a much more difficult than anticipated economic climate.

"We appreciate the British public's growing frustration with regard to uncertainty that has been cast over the country's largest and most successful motorsport event, but remain committed to delivering on the promises that we made at the start of this process and have the interests of the sport and its fans at heart."

Read as: "We didn't see the recession coming, we're hoping for a miracle, but we're probably screwed."

  • guille2306 (in Paris)12/10/2009 at 16:37

    if not maybe at mosport.

same problem, not up to F1 standard. right now, for next year there are only three circuits in the whole continent up to F1 standards. two have races already, the third won't speak to bernie...

  • Journeyer12/10/2009 at 16:39

I didn't think any of you knew anything about CART and why can''t they be CART is very similar to Formula 1.

They're similar and yet not similar. F1 is a lot more fussy about safety and everyone involved wants to ensure sufficient runoff areas and the like. There's also the marketability factor. F1 street circuits are now being measured against Singapore, Valencia, and to a certain extent, Abu Dhabi.

  • Edgar12/10/2009 at 16:39

    What's the third circuit?

  • Journeyer12/10/2009 at 16:40

    Indy.

I didn't think any of you knew anything about CART and why can''t they be CART is very similar to Formula 1.

leaving aside the technical side of the things, the security standards required for F1 are much more restrictive than for CART. the cars are faster in cornering, harder on the asphalt and much more sensitive to imperfection in the surface

  • Journeyer12/10/2009 at 16:40

    I am not here

    Rough Gillet translation

I am a moron. Bernie clearly spotted I am a moron as soon as we met. What kind of moron would sign a 17 year contract with a huge penalty clause? The more extensions I can get the longer before I have to pay the penalty clause. I am a moron.

I think that is as close as I can get to an accurate translation except of course to say there will be a 2010 British GP at Silverstone which I have said since the day Donington was announced.

Bernie is an idiot and you know it would be easier to take the British GP off the schedule.

Bernie gets paid a fortune by Gillet to get out of his contract and gives Silverstone a scare into improving their act exactly the same as he did when he gave Brands the contact a few years ago when there was no chance that circuit could be made up to F1 standard.

Certain traditional races on the calendar are protected and even Bernie can't remove them without a lot of problems.

Hi Adie. I'm actually now sick of donington. I hope it fails miserably after this stupid saga.

Yet it'll carry on and I'm sure Canada will be treated like nothing again.

Hi Adie. I'm actually now sick of donington. I hope it fails miserably after this stupid saga.

I thought this comment from Steven Roy earlier said it all

Bernie gets paid a fortune by Gillet to get out of his contract and gives Silverstone a scare into improving their act exactly the same as he did when he gave Brands the contact a few years ago when there was no chance that circuit could be made up to F1 standard.

  • Adie12/10/2009 at 18:21

Hi Adie. I'm actually now sick of donington. I hope it fails miserably after this stupid saga.

    I didn't want it too, but I can't see how it won't.

What concerns me is that ordinary fans like you, me and everyone else on here who looks forward to going to the British Grand Prix each year are the ones that truly suffer.

It's not as if we can pop to European races instead as the market's moving ever further eastwards towards government backed scheme and empty race tracks.

    Boo!

  • Alex Andronov12/10/2009 at 18:22

    latitude is much better now.

should be moving now. I normally revert back to city view for when I am at home. I thought I had changed my settings this morning and so did the google settings page. But only switching back and forth fixed it.

    How is everyone today?

  • RG12/10/2009 at 18:24

I'm tempted to ask if I can push my assignment deadline back too seeing as it's alright for Donginton!

Thats a good homework excuse actually.

'Sorry Miss that I didn't do my maths homework, but since I saw Donington get a lot more extended deadlines, I thought you'd be the same'

  • Gavin Brown (RubberGoat)12/10/2009 at 18:26

I bear good news – looks like A1GP is going to happen as the court case went in favour of Tony Teixeira…

The cars have been released by the freight company, they are on the way to the Gold Coast and he has promised to pay back the money owed to him – it’s a “…mad rush to get everything sorted now…” apparently.

Sounds great, I just hope it does happen – and that NZ and the USA turn up too

The link to the story is here: http://a1.gpgrid.com/2009/10/12/a1gp-guarantee-at-laast-17-teams-for-gold-coast/ and it was sent via Declan Brennan via Twitter – so I would say it’s quite reliable!

  • Adie12/10/2009 at 18:26

It has failed miserably. Gillet just hasn't figured it out yet

It has failed miserably. Gillet just hasn't figured it out yet

Listening to how the park and ride schemes are planned to work, NO!

S'Stone used to get berated by Bernie for things like this in the past, but now he's walking into the same situation with open arms.

  • Alex Andronov12/10/2009 at 18:27

Going to stop live updating my location until I return to Britain. Soz.

In all honesty I'm not aware of the changes - what are they going to be?

I heard the plans mooted to move the pits and paddock to the straight between Club and Abbey? Has that happened now?

For every day he fails to finish the homepage, it is an extra £5 in the 'Panda for Christine' fund.

  • lou12/10/2009 at 21:08

How about denying him the use of a certain unamed energy drink?

nooo... give him the night off and then he'll be more likely to be happy to get more done tomorrow... besides no one should be denied of the energy drink in question...

yes! it's a marvelous feeling after a not so good week to see everything fitting in the right places.

I'm happy now and it's a good moment to leave (although the motto is 'if it's working, keep measuring'. but I'll die if I don't get food in the next half hour)

You have GOT to be kidding me.

    From eddstrawF1:

    Donington Park has been given yet another deadline – now has two weeks to prove it has the funding in place for the 2010 British GP {Comment #435}

I think Sidepodcast should club together and buy Bernie a better dictionary, because his definition of "last chance" doesn't seem to match anyone else's.

Otherwise he's just going to annoy Silverstone to the point when it drops out, discover he has no replacement races willing to pay for the privilege of hosting a F1 race and the calender will shrink...

  • Nick12/10/2009 at 21:42

apart from falling down the stairs (which was actually hilarious) it's been a great day! not as good as saturday, which i suspect may have something to do with the fact there has been no pims or rose :( but it's been a good day.

  • Alianora La Canta12/10/2009 at 21:46

    2 weeks! The race is in months and they want it ready now?!!!! {Comment #446}

I think they want it ready enough that Bernie and the FIA can be confident there will be a F1 race-worthy track there by next June - and that it will have paid its fees by then too.

  • lou12/10/2009 at 21:47

haha, awesome. as long as you found it funny thats all that matters, am slowly coming round to be a bit excited for friday, but still not that bothered

Pimms and Rose! ? (mind you dont fall over ;) )

hehe they are my favourite aloholic drinks so my friends made sure there was a lot of it on saturday :)i think that may have been how i managed to get so much sleep while laying on a cold wooden floor :D

    Any cake left?

sadly not, by the time the evening had finished it was all eaten as it was so yummy.

  • lou12/10/2009 at 21:50

  • Chris12/10/2009 at 21:52

it's only just starting to actually dawn on me that i'm kinda an adult now... it's very scary, i feel like i need to cling onto my youth by saying i'm still a teenager :)

It's ok. At 20 you still feel a teenager!

12 chocolatey jaffa cakes sitting on my desk, 12 chocolatey jaffa cakes sitting on my desk and if one chocolatey jaffa cake should accidently roll into my hand as im moving it towards my mouth *breaaaaaaaathes* there'll be 11 chocolatey jaffa cakes sitting on my desk.....

    All gone :D

  • Lukeh12/10/2009 at 22:40

    All gone :D

That is how jaffa cakes go. You eat one, and then all 12 are gone.

Quite a feat actually, physicists worldwide call it an Act of Jaffa. No other item can disappear like them.

It is impossible to open a box of Jaffa Cakes and not eat every single one. You feel a bit ill but you just don't care.

I would love to see the list of drivers he beat. I bet they have 10 world championships between them at least. Add to that he spotted Lewis Hamilton the first day he raced a kart

  • Steven Roy12/10/2009 at 23:07

I did one job for four years and when I left they decided it was too much for one person.

  • Steven Roy12/10/2009 at 23:09

You want them peeled as well?

I set up a guessing game earlier because I asked people what I was eating that I had never heard of before. It was a toffee apple but instead of toffee it had chocolate. We ended up with a whole list o fruit that people like with chocolate although Janna's M&S strawberries in white chocolate have not been beaten yet

  • Nick12/10/2009 at 23:10

Because I made it sound so appealing when I told you about my 15.5 hour day..... It's in Carlisle. I wouldn't advise it as a place to move to particularly.

Given the current state of airport security and efficiency, that might be an equal trade!

  • Steven Roy12/10/2009 at 23:18

I think the problem is the other way round. He has 8 hours to go from work home, get some sleep and get back and a 12 hour drive to fit in
