Hello everyone and welcome to Sunday. We’ve got another very full day of sport ahead of us, the main two events for me being the British Grand Prix, and the final of the World Cup. Now, if you’ve been paying attention to the comments you’ll probably be wondering why I’m looking forward to the football today. Well, to put it simply it marks the end of it all! I’m sure many people will be sad about it, and I’ve seen many people enjoying the atmosphere over in the comments... but it’s been a month, time for a break. However this is the daily, not the football post, which means I should really get on with the bullet points;

  • It’s been a busy couple of days over at Sidepodcast towers, several people from the comments, Mr and Mrs C included headed over to Joe’s event at Silverstone, and despite trying to drown their ipad in beer, and abusing their camera it sounds like the second British Evening with Joe event went very very well.
  • The site has also been busy yesterday with two fabulous posts. Firstly Janna has written about her first experience at Silverstone, it’s a must read so please spend some time reading and contributing to the comments. It sounds like a brilliant day! Another must read post that’s been published in the last 24hours highlights another brilliant Mclaren video, this time Jenson and Lewis ‘hit the road’. Personally I’m really enjoying these videos let’s hope they continue to make more!
  • Giggles radio is on again today, so don’t miss it! While you’re waiting for it to start, Alex has released another short comedy podcast for our listening pleasure.
  • Christine has also been writing for her own blog too this weekend with 3 brilliant posts for us all to read. She talks about marmots, the next stage of her adventures, and ipads. There’s even new photos on her flickr page too.

That’s it for another daily, apologies for it's lateness and shortness. This time tomorrow I’ll be on my week long holiday. However if you miss me, or have some time to kill I’ve now uploaded last weekend photographs from Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. I’d love to know what you think. Have a lovely day!!

Glad to see that I am not the only one who watches FP (and other segments) post-event.

I never got to watch due to my very late night, but I find it very interesting - admittedly I find Ant, Crofty, Ted and Holly more interesting than the action

    :)

Morning from the Shaun Weather show...

I'm live about 10 miles from Silverstone and i am looking out of my window at boiling dark rain clouds which are filling the sky. It will brighten up later according to the BBC weather forecast - but they are never right ;)

Head of the A43 for a place called Tingwick. In the middle of the village you will see a tern for Water Stratford. Take it. Head to stow school. You will see the gates for school in front of you at a T-junction. Tern left here and head for Dadford, then straight on for the Circuit.

I have 56 U songs. This shocks me,

  • paul11/07/2010 at 09:33

Of course if it were Up to me the Update would make and Uprising

  • James11/07/2010 at 09:34

I have 56 U songs. This shocks me,

and there was me thinking my 19 was impressive.

  • Amy11/07/2010 at 09:35

and because it's important knowledge, the Backstreet Boys have 3 songs that start with U.

  • paul11/07/2010 at 09:36

and because it's important knowledge, the Backstreet Boys have 3 songs that start with U.

    That's quite a few. More than U2 I think

  • Alex Andronov11/07/2010 at 09:37

I have 56 U songs. This shocks me,

I have 135 to choose from... But finding the right 30 is going to be harder I think. I've picked 16 so far.

I mean compare this to W where I have... 856 to choose from.

  • Amy11/07/2010 at 09:37

    That's quite a few. More than U2 I think

I have 4 by Pearl Jam and Metallica but they cheated by having The Unforgiven I, II and III.

  • paul11/07/2010 at 09:37

I mean compare this to W where I have... 856 to choose from.

    Hehehe. Wow!

  • paul11/07/2010 at 09:40

I imagine Z will be even harder ;)

If it was my collection, Z would be hopeless

  • Alex Andronov11/07/2010 at 09:40

    ouch.

I own 12 different versions of White Christmas! That could be half a show right there ;)

For your peace of mind: Aaron Neville, Anne Sofie, Bing Crosby (2 versions), Chet Atkins, Dianna Krall, Dolly Parton, Frank Sinatra, Paul Carrack, Tony Bennet and John Denver and one by and orchestra.

  • Alex Andronov11/07/2010 at 09:41

I imagine Z will be even harder ;)

If it was my collection, Z would be hopeless

Z is going to be a lot easier than X!

  • paul11/07/2010 at 09:42

I own 12 different versions of White Christmas! That could be half a show right there ;)

Maybe you should Leave that show for December. Actually, if you can find another 18......

  • Alex Andronov11/07/2010 at 09:42

Z is going to be a lot easier than X!

I have 25 Z songs... But I do have some ideas that I know I don't own yet. I own 3 X songs and haven't really thought of anything else yet!

  • Amy11/07/2010 at 09:42

I own 12 different versions of White Christmas! That could be half a show right there ;)

I have 18 versions of Even Flow by Pearl Jam. Oops.

I have 2 X songs, one by the Foo Fighters and one by ELO.

  • Amy11/07/2010 at 09:44

All by Pearl Jam or others too?

all by Pearl Jam, they have commercially released 6 live albums, plus I have 12 of their official bootlegs too. I'd hate to imagine how many version I'd have if I had all 263 of them.

Guys, honest answers please. Is the F1 Live Timing App worth £19.99 halfway through the season?

  • paul11/07/2010 at 10:30

Guys, honest answers please. Is the F1 Live Timing App worth £19.99 halfway through the season?

Depends. If it's the only thing you have for timing, yes. If you have a laptop or desktop going as well, then maybe not.

It is a great app though.

Well Katherine just said she met a sugababe, so I may have jumped to conclusions :)

Still, aren't they all selotaped together? They shouldnt roam alone, it's dangerous for the sugababe clan to do so as they usually get replaced

It might be a good idea, seeing as the World Cup has shown that SA like to get things done like China do, they could probably put on a street race...

in short if you want it for home and have no computer near the tv get the app if you want it for the GP and are there don't if you are on o2. other networks might work.

Emma Stonier says the rumour at Silverstone is he is going to drive the third Ferrari that Bernie wants.

joking aside. i can see why Bernie would support a third ferrari though.

Would you be allowed 3 HRTs?

  • Lukeh11/07/2010 at 22:13

    I would allow it

aww. he'll be back for next race anyways. thank the lord.

  • James11/07/2010 at 22:14

Would you be allowed 3 HRTs?

nope. Bernie would support 3 Ferrari's because (as was argued during the FOTA/FIA war last year) Ferrari have a massive fanbase. third car = more (ferrari) fans = more money for Bernie.

  • Lukeh11/07/2010 at 22:14

    phew!

Yamtamtoro (I have literally already forgotten his name) was dillydallying around in his own world today. Slowler than slow in already a slow car

I reckon HRT were just trying to mess with my championship standings. (Not that Senna had any hope anyway).

Bernie may have said it but there is no way he is going to give Ferrari more power. Imagine if he does that he then has to do the same for any other team that wants it. So 3 Ferraris, McLarens, Mercedes (es), Red Bulls, Thats the points for every race sealed up and 4 people who can take away half the grid. Bernie does not like opposition

Maybe but with those for teams they should be in the top 8 points position each race but that hasn't happened this year. Third cars will never happen (unless the T-Car returns)

someone asked us the other day, and we couldn't find it, but the free trial of gp+ has returned: http://www.grandprixplus.com/

    just downloading this weeks now.

Why would he bother? Did he not know they'd come crawling back when the other guy couldn't stay on the road...? It's just petty and surely debases their brand generally.

they didn't come crawling back, he found the money. didn't he?

only he found it a little too late for this race.

I think they would have though. Yamamister clearly was not a sensible driver for any team....

I think one of Bruno's sponsors didn't pay on time so they dropped them as credit cintrol

Answer to Emma's all time dream team

    All time dream team

    Drivers Jim Clark Gilles Villeneuve

    Engineers Rob Smedley Giorgio Acanelli

    Team Principal Ron Dennis

Tech directors Colin Chapman/AdrianNewey Chapman for the big loopholes, Newey to package them and someone else to tell me when they take too many risks

Test drivers Jackie Stewart / Alain Prost

slightly more extreme than the tea and toast money for the staff room at work.

I suppose HRT want a bit more than 50p though.

    none quite as effective.

It is normal practise in motor racing. Bruno is committed to deliver sponsorship payments by certain deadlines to get the drive. One sponsor didn't deliver so he doesn't get to drive. If someone promsed you money for a product or service and didn't pay would you still given them what they wanted?

  • James11/07/2010 at 22:31

Used to happen quite a bit to Spyker. Small teams need money and don't care where it comes from.
