Why hello my friends! Apologies for not being able to keep up with my normal Friday scheduled daily post but sadly issues out of control mean I am here writing your daily for another bright Saturday! First off, a very big happy birthday to commenter Nick as it's his big day today! Yay! I love it when people have birthdays in my daily's! I'm sure Alison will be providing the cake and candles to celebrate (as well as a few drinks I'm sure) so happy birthday Nick! Formula 1 returns to it's home this weekend so let's see what homely bullet points we can throw out to entertain you lovely people:
- I'm sure you don't need me to tell you that Silverstone is the playground for the next round of Formula 1 action this weekend! Yay Silverstone! Drivers still seem a bit mixed about the new section that occurs during the infield but I suppose we'll find out just how good it will be. Of course, we could be at Donington this weekend but we all know how that went. Anyways qualifying does indeed take place later on today so make sure you check the dates and times here at Sidepodcast and join the comments when qualifying occurs later today! I've no idea who is going to be getting pole but it's almost definitely going to be Rubens Barrichello. In other news, my prediction skills are almost as good as Luca Badoer.
- Just seven days ago I found myself touring the grounds of Goodwood House with Lou as we enjoyed ourselves to a huge degree being part of the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Now I know it's been mentioned quite a lot this week what with the quite excellent occurence of the Sidepodcast banner but I finally got round to writing up my thoughts, feelings and memories of this fantastic experience. What a couple of days! If you've never been to Goodwood then you must go in 2011 - that's a command, soldier!
- What's all this nonsense then with Bruno Senna, eh? What a complete joke! I know this was coered in yesterday's daily but I'm still very disappointed at what occured with HRT. Yamamatontomtomatotoyotamatosato, or Mr Saxon, seemed quite disappointing in practise although what can you do with that car I suppose, but as Bruno is my newest bestest friend then I have no reason but to be upset at this stupid news to be quite honest. What awful timing! What an unjoyful act! It's been rumoured that Bruno will get his seat back after this weekend though. He'd better or some fist shakes may commence at HRT. *shakes fist anyways at them*
- And now for some very quick lovely links to share with you peoples. First off, how very sweet is this picture from Rubens' children? They seem the sweetest kids ever! I also noticed this picture on Twitter earlier today I loved featuring Hill, Stewart and Oliver back in the day, just a nice little photo and glimpse of a different time. Finally for something completely different. If you're Monkey Island mad like myself then you may like to know that Monkey Island 2 is now available all done up and modernised for your entertainment for the iPad, iPhone and iPod! Now I'm a massive fan of the series and these games do a wonderful job bringing them to 2010 whilst keeping it true to it's original form and a must for those that love the games!
That seems about right. Kimi Raikkonen finds himself rallying again this weekend in the country of Bulgaria so the best of luck with explaining this mishap. I'm sure he'll do fine really, go Kimi! Of course yesterday evening several commenters, including our loved hosts, were spending their time as I write this at an evening with Joe Saward listening to his always-wise responses and definitely enjoying themselves I'm sure. Not that I'm jealous I'm not there, of course, ahem. Anyways, I'm sure we can expect something back from this meet-up and plenty of fantastic info and hopefully a post about it! Nevertheless I hope you guys enjoy qualifying today and have a lovely weekend!
Ping - new day!
I've just noticed that if you look at the Christine's Rankings picture on the homepage in a certain way it looks 3D. This may be due to my only wearing one contact lens at the moment though.
Mainly for RG, but this is brilliant. Make sure you read all the way through
http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2010/jul/09/paul-gascoigne-raoul-moat
Joe said kimi coming to silverstone
I think
Saw while back. The end is just brilliant.
Always a legend.
would love to have heard the guy at the end say that.
He may have bin joking tho
Since when did Mr C use capitalisation?
mobile devices put them in when you don't want them to. reason maybe?
gazza?
Phone home
not possible, Kimi in Bulgaria rallying
Using an iOS device - it auto capitalises new sentences.

Love the agent's quote!
+beer
probably the best commenting recipe in the world
:D say hi to christine for us, it must suck doing the night driving.
You just know that call ruined the agent's dinner
That's a pity - on iOS you can disable it.
Hi to Christine from me too :)
how long the drive? night drives are awful. my goodwood drive home was not too good.
Silverstone to Rockall could take a day or two. Even in summer the north Atlantic is not great to drive on
I used to love night driving because of the lack of traffic. Now I can't see so well it's not quite such a pleasure because I need to concentrate harder.
night driving is awesome
i quite enjoy it, depending on traffic
when you aren't tired, it's brilliant.
I saw Em today... when she arrived she was in complete shock as a deer had run out in front of her during her journey. apparently it was terrifying... didn't seem too fun :(
can imagine that..
There is that, long journeys when tired aren't all that fun
I have never had that happen but I was a passenger once in a car that a cow ran out in front of. We hit the cow and launched it over the road. That was not funny.
I also know of someone who who had a deer jump over a hedge and land on his roof. Just as well he didn't have an open top car.
Right, another 6am start pour moi. Night all
She was really shaken, specially as we never usually see deers around that part of the countryside..
night Jon
Night Jon. Have fun
I am not surprised she was shaken. They move so quickly that it is impossible to anticipate what they will do.
Do you get the wild boar?
in kent?... not where i live... i don't think..
we get wild drunks here
okay, time for sleep. tomorrow is prize giving/ founders day.. and i have to put on my new summer dress and heels and be present for my last day of school.. i know i've got at least one prize so lets hope i don't slip over on my way up to collect it or anything. Looong day of services, farewell meals and clapping means i will miss quali, so i will appear once i've watched it. night all!! have fun! xx
night lou
Good night Lou. Have a great day tomorrow
LPG says you're on the edge of the area they roam.
night Jon and Lou
Remember - silent clapping works - just don't quite hit your hands together. A technique I learnt at work :D
We have made it safely back and I have taken back my phone. Double yay!
Have driven to silverstone twice today so I must sleeps.can people keep an eye out for Leigh, as he's getting a late train back to London and we want to make sure he gets back safe.
You went twice on one day. You must be keen.
Good night
glad you got home safe

i have more
hello sidepodpeople :-)
hi folks
oh my word, i'm pretty darn sunburnt
you got home ok then?
yep - just in the door a few minutes ago
what is it with Silverstone and sunburn?
I have scars from WSR 2008 there where I got the worst sunburn I have ever had.
Get tons of After Sun on yourself
Will do - Stupidly I dolloped loads on myself before I left this morning, but forgot to take it with me.
Mr C can give confirmation as to my sunburntness
:o
It has to be an essential item for me now. Anyone going to Spa needs to take some, just in case, even if it rains.
The stupid thing about Silverstone are all the uncovered stands are killer in the dry and hot and hopeless in the wet; unfortunately a roving general admission ticket means its the only place you can get
i think that was my downfall at WSR. No shade in the stands. Are you going back this weekend?
Nah - I was only planning to go to Joe's shindig, but thought I'd make a day of it
must get some sleep
night all
night
night SB, hi leigh
hi guille
how are you?
tired in the body, happy in the soul. the snow was excellent :D
you had a nice day at silverstone? (besides the sunburn...)
yeah pretty good - the new section looks nice, although the stands are quite far away from the track
since when does amazon sell food!?!?
what???
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Meat-Poultry-Sausages/s/qid=1278731714/ref=sr_nr_n_16?ie=UTF8&bbn=344155031&rnid=344155031&rh=n:340834031,n:!344155031,n:358594031
Is that healthy?? Shipped from where..? Quality, etc... that's crazy
I was more: Yay!! I can have them sent me all that stuff that I can't get in the Finnish supermarkets and miss so much. I probably won't buy any meat though :)
OMG....
on a second thought, it was the next logical step. I wouldn't buy anything 'fresh' though
right, bed!!
:)
been up since 4am yesterday and am ready to drop
good night
night leigh
kathi, are you still there?
yep
question: do you need that I give you the money for the mobile home before Spa? If yes, how do we arrange it?
no. I thought it would be better if we do that afterwards when I know the exact amount.
ok
WRC radio live now
An I was wandering why you where up so early ;-)
wrctv on the main page is live as in 'live', now? I've just seen Jari Mati crashing out... :-(
It's the only time I have time to actally listen.
refreshing the page answer the question... there he goes again :P
hehe
bed for me. night!
night
Morning,
I'm off for a 8mile training run before watching the qualifying. Anyone care to join me...?
;)
Morning Everyone
*hides*
What are you training for, being tired?
Hold on, 8 mile? Are you a rapper?
:)
I will miss the action because i'm at work so i am watching the food channel which is oddly showing a marathon of nigella christmas specials. I wish it was christmas, this food looks gooood
She is very good for indulgent feast type cooking.
Talking of indulgent feasts... here's a Marmot eating a biscuit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fBhMB9ExVk&feature=player_embedded
Good morning pretty people.
Eeehehe.
I am so blogging that.
Morning :)
I thought you'd like it :)
I am pinging this mostly for the title: http://smarterthanyouraverage.com/2010/07/10/marmot-love-it-or-hate-it/
Hey Christine, how was the evening, good turnout?
Reasonable but not exceptional. Joe said there was no logic to whether an event would be a big turnout or not. Still everyone seemed to enjoy it, which is the main thing.
*applause*
That's good. I guess you can never tell about numbers.
Some good stories?
I made lots of notes on the iPad :)
:D
What are you using for notes at the moment?
I had to use the default notes thing because I wasn't prepared. Terrible font on that, just ask Mr C.
Live thread ping: http://sidepodcast.com/2010/07/10/live-great-britain-2010-free-practice-3/
Absolutely awful. I've used pages and also Evernote. But I'm really not sure I know how I want it to work yet.
I will have to do some investigating.
Well evernote is free, and I think it might work for me. But I don't know yet.
The most important feature it has, which any proper solution has to have is for it to sync all of the notes over the air. So you don't have to wait to get back to your main computer and sync. With this one you can just open the website using the same username and password. There must be others that have this feature too, but in many ways that's the most important feature.
For typing have you noticed the click on the , or ! Button hold and slide up for an apostrophe. It's much faster than switching view for it.
Ooh, no. I had real troubles last night, some of my notes are gobbledegook. I'd go for the apostrophe but it was really the return key, so I'd go down to a new line in the middle of a word without noticing. Then it would finish the word with handy capitalisation as well!
It does take a bit of practice to get used to but once you have the apostrophe most things are available to you on the main page so not chainging mode is fastest. I've even taken to writing out numbers to reduce the number of times I have to change. This is when note taking obviously.
Most of the time it fixes the apostrophe for you but I still can't quite get used to not typing something and also sometimes like it's and its you want to force one or the other. I use my right hand fourth finger (one that is next to the pinky).
The other really handy feature is that if the system autocorrects you sometimes it picks the wrong word. Now if you see that you can press backspace and the original word you typed will be up in a balloon above to select.
It does take a bit of practice to not look at the keyboard. Also when note taking in meetings i usually disconcert people by not looking at the computer but at them while still typing. But I haven't quite been able to get back to that confidence with the iPad yet. I tend to still need to look at the text I am writing pretty regularly. So now I worry they think I'm not paying attention.
Ah ha! Good tips!
I have blogged about early days with the iPad: http://smarterthanyouraverage.com/2010/07/10/changing-hands-the-ipad-is-mine/
Hello all. Had a fantastic day at Silverstone yesterday and no sunburn. Factor 50+ :)
Oooh, well done! Did you see anyone famous?
We saw Eddie Jordan, he was late for something & couldn't stop for a photo but that was all. I'm a rubbish stalker.
Hehehe. How did the cars look?
Fabulous, it was the sound more than anything that I loved. Have a few thoughts on the day, would you like a guest post?
Ooh, yes, that would be lovely!
Will get something to you this afternoon.
Goodness me, you officially swiped the iPad?
Good thinking. I think Leigh got a little burnt.
Hehehe, cute little shiny red nose.
It's mine, I reformatted it to my iTunes account and everything.
Brilliant. ♥ Janna :)
Hehe. I am looking forward to more tips now. Mr c is not a good blogger about what he does
I agree. I said to him, we should do another one of those blogs where you talk and I type and we'll discuss how you feel about the iPad.
It never happened, so instead I just stole it.
It's for the best. It's the only way he'll learn ;)
:D Excellent
Right well enjoy Free Practice everyone. I'm off for a shower with some Friends*
http://smarterthanyouraverage.com/2010/07/10/changing-hands-the-ipad-is-mine/
*No not like that.
Yay!
I got a call from the car park that my car is parked at...
"Mr Waldock, you need to come back immediately, your car is under 4 feet of water"
Bugger
did you park it in a river? it hasn't rained for days.
burst watermain. gr
holy cow! that'll be their insurance then?
i do hope so, my insurance is high enough as it is. The best i can hope for is flooded carbs, but with that amount of water everything will be broked.
I text my girlfriend to tell her and she said "how can that happen, the car park would have to be surrounded in 4ft high walls"
Thats exactly what its like...

This is me back in the daily...
Anyone looking for something exciting to do while they wait for the football this evening why not check out the latest episode of Go For Odd? Out right now...
http://goforodd.com/2010/07/10/go-for-odd-podcast-episode-4/
speaking of blogging, stay tuned tomorrow for *gasp* an update from me
Is it wrong to be hoping that the speedway clashes with the football tonight?
oooh!
its about food again! or more precisely, post-f1-food.
Catching up with the various threads..
How on earth can Jon's car be under that much water, is he parked in a box? Hopefully they'll pay...
They better! The car park is very box-ish, it's destroyed the ground floor of the university next to it apparently.
Oh at the uni place not the track?
Yeah, so I still have my room in halls so i've been staying there for the past few days and yesterday drove here, but my friends were coming today so i came with them and parked in the uni car park.
Error
Time for me to head out into the big bad outside. See you lot later
Ahh
Bye
proof that car sharing is bad for you
Oh boo Eurosport for not showing GP2 live due to Tour de France and Davis Cup
If it's any consilation, the top 10 arent a great deal different from the grid...
but only a third into it, so still much time left
Oh dear

Would love to know who won.
the only thing the new bit has done, has made the drivers annoyed
Janna had a nice view of FP1, I was in that adjacent stand for a while for the FIA GT race. video:

Did you know the startline for the British GP will change counties next year!?! It's currently in Northants and will move to Buckinghamshire
awesome post ping: http://sidepod…lverstone-experience/
ladies and gentlemen,
hello
i have just woken up and feel alright
:)
Is Turkey Machine about?
He commented during qualifying that he was in a pub with Bassano, I fear for his liver
aaaahhh... i see - worrying indeed
good to hear chappie!
It was only a brief session with Bassano as I understand it...
...although the back of my neck feels a little sore. my slightly raw face and lower arms aren't too bad though
going to get something to eat, then catch catch the practices and qually in one long blast
:)
RT @ManipeF1: Liuzzi drops 5 places on Sunday's grid after impeding Hulkenberg. He drops to 20th. Alguersuari fined for unsafe release.
Is Fantasy WRC still alive, folks? Also, is there a prize for winning it? :D
Oooh forgot about that. I see mine (and Pat's) teams are still in the top 5.
It also looks like we're the only 2 with a different team to the rest of the top 10...
That's good. It means you have a chance to move up. I'll have to study the calendar and see when is the best time to mix things up. Am a bit concerned about removing any of the Citroens on tarmac stages...
i love this web site. which loads faster?
http://whichloadsfaster.com/?l=sidepodcast.com&r=autosport.com
sidepodcast vs autosport, autosport is x2.3 faster. more work to do!
really? spc was x2.3 faster for me. :D
Same here ;)
ahh, interesting.
Gah - I had a look at that and inadvertently spoiled the qually result for myself
oh no!!!!!
by the way, spc was 4x times faster for me
how come that then. still, that makes me a bit happier.
all i can say is, was that result really a surprise..?
no.
look at these stats Mr C, Sidepodcast is much faster :)
http://gtmetrix.com/analyze.html?url=http://sidepodcast.com
http://gtmetrix.com/analyze.html?url=http://autosport.com
that's a new one on me.
I got sidepodcast as 3.6x faster :D
its quite handy, wished i had found this during my degree would have helped me prove my site was fast.
ace. i appear to be the only one with a slower spc. odd.
it's nick's birthday? happy birthday chap.
(may be reading the daily a little later than usual)
Happy Birthday Nick
SPC 2.0x faster. SPC 1803ms ASPT 3608ms
happy birthday to you
happy birthday to you
happy birthday deeear niii-i-i-i-i-i-i-ck
happy birthday to you
Sidepodcast is faster for me too yes.
Just to cheer you up Mr C see how much faster than um the blog that should not be mentioned... 15x faster for me. It's shocking.
wtf happened that design?
still yay :)
I didn't look I worried it might hurt my eyes.
hehe.
To continue the conversation re google page rank from twitter... When will google consider the page having loaded? Do your comments load on body ready or after a timer? If you make it after a timer of 1 second I reckon you'll be okay. Otherwise say the doohicky would never be loaded. As would twitter which also updates.
i believe so.
tried that. but doing so breaks the #comment-000 links. so a direct link to a comment simply leaves you at the top of the page. am looking into it some more though.
that's not an answer. they load on page load.
The next letter on my alphabet adventure: http://bit.ly/a5BmJ2
Sidepodcast is much faster than any other F1 site I have tested 18 x faster than Autosport, 17 x Formula1blog, 10 x faster than ESPNF1, 9 x faster than Planetf1, 6 x faster f1fanatic, and 3 x faster than Joe's blog.
Cannot test formula1.com as it takes over the entire site - so what is new?
Right... Got you... You could slide down to the anchor after the comments load though right? But it's a bit of a pain I guess.
I'm watching Toy Story so I can catch up and finally go see the third one.
Um.
Is it supposed to be making me this angry?
hehehe. that's a classic. go bernie!
:)
why are you angry?
So the irony was not lost on you. Keep up the good work!
Mr C how fast are you trying to get Sidepodcast to be?
because the toys keep doing stupid things and getting themself into even worse situations.
it's not pretty. the page stops for one second, then the scroll bar resizes as comments are loaded (up to 3 seconds on long threads) and then the page flies on down to the comment.
i have one idea to solve the issue, but it's a pain to do. i just hope google take an average from the whole site, because pages such as the about page are super fast: http://sidepodcast.com/about/
That has to be a candidate for quote of the month :)
not target in mind really. there's more info on this post: http://sidepodcast.com/2009/12/29/scream-if-you-wanna-go-faster/
i just liked the tool i linked to earlier. seemed like a fun way to fight :)
hehe
I liked it as well. very useful thanks :)
http://sidepodcast.wikia.com/wiki/Best_Comment_of_the_Year_2010
(needs a bit of a tidy)
we once wanted to put live timing inside a little box on this page: http://sidepodcast.com/livecommenting/
it did the same thing, no more sidepodcast once f1.com loaded!
urgh... Yeah... I guess... hmmm... I can think of an amazingly complicated way to achieve it... But it's presumably impractical... Can the server see the #number? or is it sent just to the browser? I can't remember.
ooh, i forgot. cheers buddy.
my solution is related to the thing you want to do with paragraph linking. it's a "later in the season" thing though.
oh phew, alls well that ends well :D
:)
Can somebody arrange for there to be a doctor who this evening? I feel like having a new one to watch. Cheers.
I don't know if I can handle number 2 anytime soon, I actually yelled "oh you have to be JOKING" at the TV at one point.
Yay! These are my favourite http://www.myfreewallpapers.net/cartoons/wallpapers/toy-story-aliens.jpg
:)
"The claaaaaaaw..."
:D
I have been chooooosen.
BTW, did anyone notice the Todts hanging around at MGP earlier? It was almost like a reunion... :D
i didn't, would make for a great piccy though.
croftie news: http://twitpic.com/2434g1
i believe it not to be coincidental that his 5live clothing matches the mercedes drivers. i'm starting the david croft to mercedes gp rumour right here.
Nick looks thrilled to be there.
#comehometosaubernick
would it be a straight swap with michael schumacher? :D
i think so. schumi and ant would make a fine commentary pairing...
that would be bucketloads of fun, that's for sure. :D
he could say get ready to rumble every single session!
psych!
Q: (Byron Young – The Daily Mirror) Seb, did you have some favouritism today?
SV: I think that as I tried to explain earlier, if you look at us (drivers), we are different. One probably likes tea, the other likes coffee.
That doesn't explain anything :D
For the great Will Buxton
http://twitpic.com/243fby
Erm... wha? :-/
what a wally. he's suggesting webber didn't like the wing as much as he did?
he continued on, but still didn't answer the question. And when it was questioned why he got both of the better wings he got all "how do you know its better?"
Bah. Don't like him.
you have more time on your hands than alex ;)
I can imagine both Web and Seb are tiring of these questions by now though
:)
Something to be proud of
;)
Not that i'm defending him but i'm curious... What answer would have worked for you in this situation? I can't think of any single thing he could say.
Erm... Seb, of course they'd be faster and better. Otherwise, you wouldn't use them, no?
He sounds... annoyed. Very. Whatever happened to that cheerful lad at Toro Rosso 2 years ago...?
oh i know, they're never going to get a 'oh yes i'm the chosen one' answer, but I didn't like him before that anyway :D
I would've just said it's a team decision, and I respect the team for what they want to do.
I'd imagine Web would be tiring from the RBR favouritism even more, though.
There's something in the Red Bull I reckon.
If you have time on your hands you might like to listen to this fifteen minute comedy podcast that came out today...
http://smarterthanyouraverage.com/2010/07/10/changing-hands-the-ipad-is-mine/
plug fail!
pressure.
Ooops I mean:
http://goforodd.com/2010/07/10/go-for-odd-podcast-episode-4/
15 minute? i refuse to believe it.
fact.
I was under pressure to perform. The management team have decided to give Christine's blog the default paste position on this iPad. It's a decision that I am disappointed with, but one that I understand, she has produced more than five blog posts today and I have produced only one and so while she leads the championship I have to accept the teams decision to give her plugs priority.
:D
:D
hehehehe
Fifteen minutes and Sixteen seconds. Did it feel longer?
haven't listened yet, but the last one was about 6 hours wasn't it?
No way. Short comedy podcasts are the way forward.
Episode 1 - 17:55
Episode 2 - 32:38
Episode 3 - 17:20
Episode 4 - 15:16
The record that led to this episode was five and a half hours long which which is why it's taken such a long time to arrive but it has resulted in 3 15-20 minute podcasts which will be episodes 4 to 6.
got ya, will list in a sec then.
You do start to question whether it is worth it... The 3 podcasts which will total 50 minutes of content will have taken about 30 or more hours to produce. Not a great pace :) luckily I enjoy it :)
For the first time today seeing the "finger" gesture Vettel annoyed me. Today has just fuelled the idea that Red Bull are favouring Vettel...again.
Had you listened to the previous one recorded in a curry house? Out of interest? It was the one that mentioned baby names and had an American guest
the British GP sucks.
Uh oh!
Going to bed, but before I do, just wanna share this:
Am watching a stream now of the 95 British GP. Before that race weekend, the 107% rule was finalized for 96. Bernie was asked about it and he said, "we are in the quality business, not a quantity business." he wasn't too concerned with the size of the grid.
just 14 years later, 3 new teams were added to the 2010 entry list, thus expanding the field for the first time in years. but these teams have struggled to truly get on the pace.
one wonders what bernie really wants.
good night.
...?
as do mclaren.
*catching up with quali*
now there's a question. did i listen, almost certainly if you plugged it. can i remember it, not from that description.
Money
Night
shift change. night!
That 107% rule didn't get him any more money, though...
Night.
you must have missed the post where everyone loves mclaren now :D
I can't remember having a conversation with you about it. There was background noise but that might confuse you with the first one.
lou, can i cheer you up?
(or at least try)
ohhh.
that.
everytime i start to like them they do something stupid.. like give the drivers a rrrrrubbish upgrade... :(
yeah go for it. it's been a sad day.
McLaren always do better in the races.
i'm quite pleased with how this picture came out: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sidepodcast/4780458604/
joe was in conversation with emma at the time.
for once... just once i want JB to have an amazing British GP... or at least get on the podium. he looks so sad :'( but he was drinking a cool pink looking drink :)
i'm not going to bother watching Q3..it's gonna be a red bull pole.. i can just tell.
also, that's leigh's head peeking about the glass to the right (joe's left)
pressure.
ok, really going now.
Right now at their MTC they will be working out what they can do. If any team can find a solution its McLaren. (can't believe I'm praising McLaren ;))
ooooooooooooohhhhhh!!!!!!!! that's really cool!
it wasn't the upgrade, something must've broken on the car. expect him to start from the pitlane tomorrow.
tis a very awesome shot mr c, kudos to you, really cool! :) i hope you have more shots to show me.
really really not cheering me up here...
for Christine: http://www.autosport.com/gallery/photo.php/id/13255022 (Rob!! :))
couple more, but the lighting was really bad in the room, so once it got dark it was game over. the bar, was lit like a nightclub.
oops. just saying sometimes things break.
aw :( will lightroom not help with the darkness at all?
always at the British GP! this better not happen at Spa...
Too many British GP's this weekend, I first thought you were talking about the speedway, then the athletics in Gateshead and then I rememembered about the F1
what are the chances of rain tomorrow?
the top of my head is simply amazing
I would suggest listening to my new podcast:
http://goforodd.com/2010/07/10/go-for-odd-podcast-episode-4/
But I am worried that even that might not be able to cheer you up :(
i'm in a sad mood, i officially left my school of 15 years today. saying bye to teachers and things was really really sad :(
will listen though :)
i miss the desk: http://www.autosport.com/gallery/photo.php/id/13255079
also I think what Fernando is doing sums up the feeling in paddock whilst trying to catch Red Bull.
not at all. v.blurry shots after about 9pm, so i stopped.
aww no :( did any photographers or f1 people turn up?
gonna blog it once i've sorted some pics.
i continued to watch q3 and.... well it was pretty dull. what has happened to formula 1.. why is q3 so dull now.. why don't the red bull's cars break like Jenson's
they won't beat them in qually. ferrari should be better in the second half of the race though.
coool! :)
they break in races, thats more exciting than breaking in qualy
lack of fuel means we can predict reasonably well how fast each team is.
apparently this is "proper racing" though, so that's better. allegedly.
They do...just in the races.
walkinshaw turned up? http://www.autosport.com/gallery/photo.php/id/13255080
okay good point.
i just think it's sad. usually i feel sad if i miss watching quali live.. and now i don't feel like i missed anything. quali isn't exciting when JB isn't there.
can we have the non proper racing back please?
I can imagine. However I will say that for the teachers that you most like this next bit is the most exciting for them. They don't hear from you for a bit and they sometimes wonder, "What's happening with Lou"?
Then you get back in touch and let them know how all that work they put into you turned out. They need you to go away, however sad the moment is, so that they can experience you coming back. :)
what on earth are you going to do when he retires!
would love it. along with refuelling and reverse grids please. purists be damned.
The races seem to be better after rubbish qualifying.
Unlike last season, great quali, rubbish races.
this is true. When I worked in the hospital in 2007 I ran into a teacher I had in 1992 and hadn't seen since 1996. She knew who I was straight away which was kind of creepy because I thought I might have changed in 15 years but she looooved hearing what I'd been up to.
he isn't going to retire.. he's going to be like rubens and just race and race and race and race...
... serious answer - by then i'll be an f1 photographer and i wont care is quali is boring as long as i get my shots :)
i'll go along with that.. except for reverse grids.. they be silly :)
interesting theory.
this is true. Fernando just seemed rather bored in the press conference:
http://www.sutton-images.com/preview.asp?filename=d10gbr1120.jpg
http://www.sutton-images.com/preview.asp?filename=d10gbr1120.jpg
Sakon Yamamoto on pole just sounds wrong.
:)
Cyborg Jenson :)
meant to include this: http://www.sutton-images.com/preview.asp?filename=d10gbr1119.jpg
aw that is true. i saw my old photographer teacher who i haven't seen in a year and she was so shocked to see how much i'd done etc. it's just sad to say bye to the old place.
Teachers get way too much credit. School ruined me. It's taken me years to get to a place where I'm comfortable in myself and it has nothing to do with them.
more silly than random amounts of fuel for qually and then announce the results later? that was really, really silly. however, it worked.
It isn't it...
i'd agree with that.
my English teacher friend just updated her Facebook saying she 'would of' done something. Fail.
here's one of those invisible cvc people: http://www.autosport.com/gallery/photo.php/id/13255077
nicholas clarry, never heard of him.
Proper fail! :)
some of my teachers (our head of sixth form for example) have pushed me to breaking point.. to the extent that mum even had a go at her today... but others have been overly supportive and lovely to me. However i agree that school wasn't a place i felt comfortable in. and i'm only just feeling this past year that i'm figuring out who i am, then again that may be due to my age.
next she'll be saying she's got alot of something *cries*
better question is, how did anyone know he was from CVC?
fuel loads was fun!! :) don't you remember the wait for figuring out who was lightest, and all the strategies we would try and work out. i liked the fuel weights. :)
good question.
I liked the competition with @f1scoop :D
A ping for the game no one cares about: http://sidepodcast.com/2010/07/10/2010-fifa-world-cup-day-24/
hehe Norbert Haug signs autographs: http://www.sutton-images.com/preview.asp?filename=d10gbr831.jpg
yes. but when originally suggested everyone (us included) said "that's a silly idea, not proper racing at all". same with reverse grids or whatever. proper racing doesn't equal much fun, so some sillyness helps i think.
also... why the hell have sakon back?...he's rubbish, his neck isn't strong enough. Senna should be in the car.
a good job the FIA are in charge then ;)
Well yes. I never finished the school that I was at that was like Lou's because it was too horrible for words and I ended up having all sorts of terrible experiences with teachers which... Well let's not go there. I left went to another school which was functional but nothing amazing and then when I did well on my own bat despite my teachers my mother ran into my maths teacher from when I was 12 who had written in my report, "has no understanding of mathematics and will never progress", and she told him that I got an A at A level and he said, "well I could always see his potential and I am glad that I helped to scuplt his young mind". He did to hate and dispise him and you could say I did well at maths to spite him, but I did well at maths despite him being a terrible teacher. Oh sorry I got a bit carried away there ;)
I suppose those in the paddock know them, to us outsiders we never see them.
#sameperson
umm.... what?
The FIA will also reserve the right to delay sending out the safety car itself on to track during a caution period, so there is no chance of it splitting up a leading gaggle of cars.
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/85187
just close the pitlane!
so.... a safety car period without a safety car?
also... i know we're probably picked up on this before but a gaggle of cars what? :s
it's officially bunkem now. frickin' idiots.
yup. doesn't sound so safe.
i can understand they want a balance so we don't have people queuing in the pitlane and not to change the race (as what happened in Valencia) but all the changes are becoming a joke.
Fine. Happens elsewhere all the time. Fly the yellows, everyone slows down to SC pace but the SC itself doesn't appear until the leader is slow on the front straight. This only really works if the pits are closed though..
then why have a car at all?
what were you saying about f1 needing silly rules?..
as @eligp says: Don't be surprised if the SC is deployed and all drivers just stop on track and ask what they are supposed to do
this isn't silly. this is stupid, that's different.
we need to get the FIA a dictionary. :)
its going to lead to a situation where people go over the Delta as in Valencia. it would be quicker to red flag the race and start again.
the solution they proposed on friday about lowering the delta seemed to make sense. so the driver don't like going slowly? tough.
Elsewhere I've seen it the drivers aren't very disciplined and the FIA would have to police Delta laps every lap. Also the SC can dictate where the cars go, i.e. if there's debris on track or if they need to send them down pitlane, I know Whiting can radio everyone but it sort of reinforces it.. I mean they could do that without the SC but it would be a bit chaotic.
I think in some situations - not all - in terms of getting the cars formed up it is fine to hold it to not split the field.
To me the most stupid thing is change after change after change. I don't mind their proposal, just stick to something.
seconded.
another pic of joe: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sidepodcast/4780664532/in/set-72157624339359925/
shall attempt to blog whilst watching football.
ooooooooohhh!!!!! :D
I'm surprised he hasn't.
i love the bokeh mr c :)
our camera / lens seems seems to favour octagons (probably cause it's cheap), so i'm happy that the blur is vaguely round.
naughty lens: http://www.flickr.com/photos/christineblachford/4624302812/in/set-72157624100365858/
oooh how strange.. mine's the same lens and it usually likes circles :)
i think sidepodcast needs a new official energy drink... can we buy the lotus cans anywhere?
Monster? I saw their logo on Rosberg's overalls, not sure if Schumi has 'em..
Although I prefer Relentless
red bull is yummy though :(
nooooooo don't do it.
tastes of bias to me.
You're silly.
Last place I saw Relentless in motorsport was in the Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain.... The driver? Maxi Jazz from Faithless.
ouch.
(hearts)
Not watching the footie until I'm caught up on Tour de France... Wondering if there's time to nip to the shop to get wine during the ad break. Oh it's started, will try!
forgot to say lou. i couldn't shut christine's car door last night. three attempts at slamming it before i realised the lumix had fallen between the seat and the door.
stil works though. must be a good soft case.
camera abuse!!! :( poor Lumix.
thank goodness. i think i would have cried if i'd found myself doing that.
Hahaha, his face. Priceless.
i am an idiot.
i hope he felt guilty :P
jenson, driving the safety car?
http://twitpic.com/244jvx
why?
awww at least it wasn't the dslr, that may not have survived undented..
giving people a ride i believe.. maybe prize winners. i read about it earlier.
Safety car rules now state that a current f1 driver must drive it?
Done
Don't worry, i wont give away the result Pat. I watched it live this afternoon after qualifying. Sounds like a great way to enjoy a bottle of wine whilst watching the riders tackle the first real hill climb of the tour...
I'm a big fan of Bradly Wiggins!. Blokes is a Mod with attitude!
And his name is The Wiggler. Can't go wrong with that.
If I'd got myself into gear last night and caught up then I could've watched it live too, kicking myself a bit! Bit of a hard day for the yellow jersey...
I find him a bit aloof. Not sure who I like really.
Loving the pictures from Chandock, throwing hats at the autograph session http://twitpic.com/244pnf
http://twitpic.com/244pca
Today I've caught up with 4 stages of Le Tour, ITV highlights. Tidied the house while watching, much less clutter from bills and rubbish left lying around because I'm lazy, laundry done and hung to dry...
hehehe Darren is so awesome, he replies to tweets that mention him as well as ones that are addressed to him :) love love love! :)
Hi Lou.
Everyone is watching football just now. Have you sorted your Goodwood photos out yet?
Isn't Darren supposed to be busy now?
hehe i gathered people were watching silly football, just had a yummy take away with my rents, goodwood pics nearly sorted :)
hehe that's maybe why he only replied to me while he was around! ♥ i have to meet him! i just have to :)
Tell him you are going to Spa
he knows :) he gave me some advice about where to stand a while back. will email him when i get back from holiday in a week (when it's closer to the time) asking if it would be okay to meet him.
Good luck
Andy Hone said i should come say hi if i see him at Spa. i refuse to believe i wont see one of them while i'm there.. if need to talk to them via a fence i will :)
You are going to have no time for Jenson stalking if you meet all the photographers
ahhh but i have Amy on my side... she's good at that kinda thing..
You are going to need to do a lot of planning
s'alright, Amy will have packed soon, she'll need something else to plan :)
:D
She can add another folder to her collection
Evening all
Hey lukeh
Hi Lukeh. Lou was aroud a few minutes ago
Hello Lukeh.
am sorting pics but yes hi Lukeh.
*waves*
Can I mention qualifying now?
no. the british GP sucks.
Why not? Bastian pole! :D
now I feel bad :( I didn't mean to bring it up because of jenson
hehehe i was expecting more. now i feel like i wasted my evening lol. silly mclaren. how did Rubens do? i wasn't paying any attention by the end.
he came 8th!
Hulkeburg came nothingth. Sam Bird > rubbish teammate
I love Sam Bird! he's awesome! go Rubens.
#grrrrmclaren
Lewis was P4 so McLaren did not to badly
p14 can't just be Jenson's fault. it just cant...
I think Lewis has an advantage over the bumps because he is the more adaptable driver. McLaren run the suspension so hard because he can do that but I am sure Jenson would benefit from softer suspension even though he would have less downforce as a result.
The two of them run almost identical set ups so it is hard to argue the set up is the problem when his team mate is so much faster.
+1
I think Jenson just doesn't have the driving style to benefit in qualifying. His smoother way does ensure his tyres keep better for the actual race though, so don't lose hope yet Lou!
every time i get upset at his quali JB seems to be a bit better in the race an surprise me. i trust him to be awesome, it's just annoying.
He is still going to have to deal with the same bumps with the same set up and if they are upsetting him in quali the problem is going to be worse on worn tyres. Lewis has made his tyres last all season. He has done a couple of really long stints when people were convinced he would have to make another pit stop but he has made them last.
if he's in the safety car, he will at least lead a lap.
:( you're mean
Lukeh!!!
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00t19fh/T_in_the_Park_2010_Muse_and_Calvin_Harris/
Muse!!
Hehe, yay
ping: http://sidepodcast.com/2010/07/10/i-think-its-fly-when-joe-stops-by-for-the-summer/
Live ALMS quali for those interested. Unfortunately there aren't many top class cars, but if you're into GT2 it'll be really close.
http://stream.speedtv.com/
Can I just flag this comment on from startledbunny from my goodwood post? I thought it was a fantastic comment and necessary to share with all :) http://toata.wordpress.com/2010/07/09/93-a-retrospective-of-goodwood-2010/#comment-308
just looking at pics of Jake from goodwood... he looks hungover... poor Jakey.
For any Heikki fans, you should download the latest Gareth Jones on Speed video podcasts Videos 12 & 13). Heikki drives him up the hill at Goodwood. Only downside is those sunglasses.

Live timing for ALMS
http://scoring.americanlemans.com/scoring.php
I don't know where Alia went, she was following an earlier practice session and was into keeping up with Fisi & co.
I know Jenson was slow today but this is a huge demotion by McLaren
http://twitpic.com/244jvx
stop making jokes about him doing a nice thing for the fans! :( poor Jenson.
it's cause you didn't make him a helmet.
i blame mclaren...
... he always did the helmet comp while at Honda/Brawn... well not always.
He made himself a new version of his helmet
he should definitely not become a designer..
Agreed. You would thnk with all the fun stuff they are doing at McLaren a helmet design comp would not be a problem
mclaren have one. only it's more 'design a helmet and we'll make it for you.. then you can keep it'... rather than jenson's 'design me a helmet then i'll sell it for charity' silly mclaren.
For all those interested, my car is now fine, the person who phoned me clearly has no concept of distance. The water was about a foot and a half deep, just above the door seals. The carpets and a floor are wet but i got an rac man to check it out and all is well. woop. im going to spend tonight removing the lake from the car though
Ah that's good :)
I can't believe McLaren are blocking it
When i brake, all the water moves forward and my feet get wet :D
Happy Birthday To Nick by the way.
What you want is the carpet cleaner my dad has, it sucks up water :)
just so you all know... the daily will be late. sorry!
Got my laptop out ready to have a third screen for tomorrow's race for the map timing thingy, figured I might as well use it so I'm watching last year's Texas IndyCar race on it while commenting and toying with the blog. Although I've not started blogging yet.
we need pics!
If it is Goodwood pics and video, that's what I'm blogging.
ah no, ingenius method currently happening. I've parked with my front wheels on the kerb so all hte water is pushed backwards, and now im scooping it out with a dustpan
Hi kids. The iPhone is beaUTIFUL!!!!!!
Isn't that going to take hours?
Here's a big of right now.. http://twitpic.com/246gv6
big? pic.
needs x1 more.
The other screen? Not easy..
For the first time in a while I will eventually have Live Timing and Sidepodcast with F1 coverage. But not enough screens. :(
Today I met up with the Racing Manager of Pirelli, it was short but very interesting, have a listen if you fancy
http://www.feederseries.net/?p=965
Also, question to all you audio-bods, is there a similar-audacity type program which i can use to convert files from .wav to .mp3 (or vice versa).
The last few intefviews I've done I've converted them to .wav and then put them through levelator, but trying to convert them back just crashes audacity so i havent been able to release a better sounding version
itunes?
Now thats a thought!
i'm full of em ;)
If you're looking for a quick one, I think LameXP may be the best.
Fanks, thats quite a good idea. Audacity struggles converting sometimes. i really should get a proper program!
I found something out about iTunes that made me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry.
Please explain..
http://twitpic.com/246qip
I had to hold the phone right up against the wall so I couldn't see the screen, so it took a couple of goes, best I can do. :)
- with bonus Captain Kirk!
aha! i assumed they were next to each other. cool.
Unfortunately not, but I will be moving the netbook to a more useful location tomorrow, its where it is because I've got the PC speakers plugged into it and the cable won't reach the other side...
iTunes on Windows requires QuickTime for Windows to be installed.
Anybody who knows QuickTime knows how beautiful *cough* it runs on Macs. It is the most painful piece of software ever released by Apple for Windows and should never ever ever ever ever EVER be let loose onto an unsuspecting public without prior approval from Satan himself.
Head.
Desk.
Bang.
Repeat.
Oh yeah. It's always been like that and Quicktime is a lot better than it used to be. Having said that, I've never really used iTunes on a Windows machine.
Also it's not all one sided. If you have an iPhone 4 and a Mac you need OS X Leopard, released in 2007. The minimum spec for a PC is Windows XP released in 2001.
Audacity can't make MP3 files, it uses an external convertor, which can be LAME XP. If Audacity is falling over, then you should be able to access the convertor directly from the command line. The commands aren't too difficult to work out.
I use the lame convertor and audacity crashes
http://mulder.dummwiedeutsch.de/home/?page=projects#lamexp
LameXP.
Is Audacity calling Lame and it's falling over?
No idea, but I click convert and it crashes and closes.
ta
Sounds like a corrupt Lame or the wrong options are passed for it to just do that.
I think that's a common issue.
no idea, ive not changed anything or updated anything, it used to work but not anymore
It's great for just one-click encoding of directories of WAVs or other files. If you're using Audacity for your normalisation export it to WAVs or FLACs or something to keep the quality up.
ooooh, i just remembered christine threw beer over the ipad last night, whilst listening to joe.
Did it survive? I threw beer over my Samsung G600 today, that lives.
so.. let me get this straight... last night Christine tried to drown the ipad and you abused your camera?.... Joe makes people do silly things to their tech.
yeah it's fine. the rubbery case stinks though.
that's is in fact correct, yes. she did it first though.
Argh, it was awful. I did a variationon that thing where you go to check the time on your watch and tip your glass over.
oooooh dear. :( you know when you said earlier that Mr C's face was a picture when he realised what he'd done to the camera?... i can imagine you had a look of horror on your face too. is the ipad all sticky now?
no excuses. you ruined your trousers at a meetup. giggles would be proud.
Hehe, my mother does that on a regular basis. Except she breaks wine glasses in the process!
:D :D hehehehehe!
ROFL!
Ahhh-hahahah. I always forget. :)
me too!! then i get to relive the moment again in my mind. hehehehe!
Right you lot, I'm heading to bed cos I need to. I have iPhone, I is happy TM. :D
Are you sure it was Christine?
night chap
:D
World Cup final post is scheduled for tomorrow, I dunno if Mr/Mrs C wishes to add an image or anything like that.
I have pre-season training tomorrow so I shall see you all (hopefully) in time for the race. Night and lotsa love.
leg.end.
Night RG
night R.G!
the daily is coming.... sooon.......
I like the daily being late. It's like time lasts longer
it is how all daily posts should be.
i knew i wouldn't be able to make mine on time each week... i'm no christine.
you're busy, it's cool. all daily posters are doing a fantastic job. i managed to buy leigh a drink yesterday, we need to buy many more still.
am busy doing things for people to look at while i write the daily :)
i know.
morning folks
squire.
Morning
How does sir and sir be on this fine Sunday morning?
Good and looking forward to a great day of sport
speechless. i'll tell you why later.
Ahh yes - the great race and the match of course
Intriguing... does this have anything to do with Sakon Yamamoto?
sakon who? no.
By the way, Friday and Saturday reports will be up in a bit - I'm only watching FP3 now and won't to Qually for about an hour
:)
May I introduce you to the concept of sleep?
:)
I only got up at 3.30pm today
Because you were up for 24 hours straight beforehand :)
yeah well, there was that....
but leigh has experience in the music industry, which is like that. he's a seasoned pro. i don't remember walking three miles to a studio though...
for lou when she's done with the daily, shooting pics over new york: http://vimeo.com/13060640
I have had far too many 36 hour days in my time
:o
three miles to plum pury hotel is nothing - when i was in school, i used to walk through six feet of snow every day with no shoes or socks!!
i am the way i am for that very reason.
luxury
;)
Genius
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eDaSvRO9xA
fact
I love the top of the Chrysler building. It is just perfect
Must be a couple of months since we last had that sketch. It just keeps coming up
...because it's genius??
it really is. it's twice as bright as anything else around it too.
I just love the shape and design. Brightness is a bonus
hehehe!
okay Goodwood pics then
Friday - http://www.flickr.com/photos/loujohnson/sets/72157624466239474/

YES!!
names, labels and all the small details will be finished when i get back from holiday or maybe tomorrow..
lou, i've been watching the pics roll into flickr, and i am speechless. to me these are the pics you've ever taken and some of my favourite motor sport pics ever
and now on with the daily..
stuff it. don't care. the pics speak for themselves. i LOVE this one: http://www.flickr.com/photos/loujohnson/4780844833/
I have a feeling the word best is meant to be in there somewhere
i've been tiding them up.. so lots have been kinda reshuffled or deleted if they are replicas..
i'm really pleased you like them though. i was just transfixed by the red bull over the weekend.. and really got into running after the cars and drivers trying to get pics of them.
saying some are your fav motorsport pics ever makes me very emotional, thank you mr c.
oops. yes indeedy.
hehehe! i literally ran into Nico while trying to find Karun, the panasonic was an amazing little camera.
Yay!!!
before you write the daily, i have questions:
1) how? http://www.flickr.com/photos/loujohnson/4780821739/
2) how? http://www.flickr.com/photos/loujohnson/4780789333/
3) jules? http://www.flickr.com/photos/loujohnson/4781438112/
you appear to be using three different cameras?
The first one has been deleted
1) i must have deleted (sorry! - which one was it and i'll put it up)
2) tis just a panning shot.. was the best i could get over the weekend.. grr to the crowds!
3) yes! :)
it was the yellow bonnet, with water bouncing off of it.
(i may have had tabs open for a long time)
Second one is incredible
she looks completely different. about half her normal size.
2 is... how?
They are rather good.
I like the reflection in Stirling's glasses

Notus as far away from Lotus as possible
hehe i think she wasn't wearing heels :) she was drinking red bull though, which made me laugh :)
that's it. how?
evening, guys and girls...
Yes how? I can never get the water to sit still for long enough
hi guille
but where did the water even come from?
ello!
the porshe driving experience had like... a centre feature which was basically a car in the middle of a water fountain. I took loads of shots and it was mainly about patience cause i had to have the shortest shutter speed i could to reduce blur etc. i could have hugged the porshe guys for having it there though :)
Hi Guille
the zonda f is such a beautiful car :)
:D
worth every minute. am i stunned.
lukeh has a shot of the feature - http://www.flickr.com/photos/lukehmuse/4767776783/
lou, you're an amazing photographer :D
#facts_of_life
i'm really really pleased you like them..
now i shall hide away and do the daily :)
awwwww! *gets all emotional* thank you.
before you go on holiday (when is that), we really need a guest post for these, however rough and ready it might be. people must see these.
okay, what kinda thing would you like?
i go off to devon for a week from tomorrow evening.. no idea if i'll have internet or phone signal, will write something tomorrow before the race.
Mr. C., has Christine seen the panda in the tour for the 'new Flickr layout'. It's quite funny...
really don't mind. anything that will point people in the direction of your flickr account. maybe a "top 10 goodwood moments" post?
pictures that are important to you, and a brief description of how you did it. kinda like mr heath might do?
not sure, have you got a link?
Lou,
Do you knowwhat the metal thing is that is sticking out behind the driver's headrest? That is not a normal part of the car.

not really a link. I was seeing lou's pictures and a link appeared on top asking me if I wanted to check out the new Flickr layout. I clicked on it and it has a quick tour on top. At the end of the tour (step 5) there is panda surprise...
i'm assuming this is the moment newey was given an f1 car?
http://www.flickr.com/photos/loujohnson/4780783189/
ahh, shoot. i cancelled that :(
erm, no sorry. i think that was the only time i saw that car the whole weekend..
hehehe he'd just got out of his first run up the hill in it, he was soooooooo happy!
The only thing I can think is it is some kind of camera mount but there is nothing on it.
I love the angle of this one. It had me really confused until I figured it out

is this the same car? http://www.flickr.com/photos/aharvey24/4763526504/
Isn't it the roll bar?
yes.
I like that 'This picture was taken on July 2, 2010 using a Nikon D70s'
:)
hehehe! i hearts my Nikon... specially since i've had it cleaned. who needs megapixals! :)
lou, i love you have the getty thing set up, good luck with the daily.
i must sleep, giggles radio, f1 and football tomorrow.
Getty thing?
There's a Giggles Radio too? I had no idea. I don't think I'll make it.
i think that sentence is missing some words?.... daily is nearly done! :)
night mr c, thank you for the kind comments!
isn't there? he can't be on holiday again?
Night.
Actually I'm going to go too, my race has just finished and I sort of abandoned the blog post I was doing for now, it needs reworking
I have no idea
nope. on flickr it says: All Rights Reserved.Request to license f1lou's photos via Getty Images
it's in my daily, therefore there must be a show! :)
night mr c
:)
Could be. It is part of the roll hoop then. The two pics look similar but it may not be the same car but it is clearly the same feature
ahhhh okay :)
night mr. c

I think the caption for this one should be "I hope they give him Bruno's car"
What is this Lou?

the bridge on the front wing of an old Red bull they had on display in front of the merchandise stand.. i think it was a mash of lots of different cars, but it looked liked an '08 front wing?
barge board... on the same red bull :) i was somewhat obsessed by Adrian Newey and his amazingness by the end of the weekend....
I love the close up of details towards the end of Sunday's selection.
These are definitely some of the best pics you have taken.
I would never have guessed that. You could do competitions with some of these. Identify the bit.
I see that now. I thought it looked soft like squishy leather or something.
