Yesterday was a surprising day in F1 land, as we saw Ferrari show improvements and make the same old mistakes. However, there were other things rumbling on outside of the Barcelona action that caught our eye:
- We have now had Toyota, BMW and Raikkonen all suggest that if the 2010 regulations head they way they appear to be going then they might not make an appearance next season. Perhaps it is easy to say we could lose Kimi, as there are plenty of drivers waiting in the wings, but are there two big teams ready to step up to the budget cap plate?
- Adrian Newey has spoken out again regarding the double decker diffuser and how hard it will be to get it to integrate with the Red Bull. Ollie has a great post about this over at Blog F1, although the title leaves little to the imagination!
- We're still pondering the F1 Mole blog on the BBC, and how un-mole-ish it seems. Surely the idea of a mole-type blog is that one gets to the bottom of things, anonymously, and can therefore cover articles that other non-mole journalists cannot? This doesn't seem to bear any of those moley hallmarks, and we're wondering whether it should just be rebranded as another blog, rather than taking credit from the real moles.
That'll do it for today. We've got a race and much podcasting goodness to enjoy today, so hopefully we will see you at some point in the comments.
Nachos.
Anyone gonna stick their neck on the line for Podium predictions?
There will be trophies, flags, national anthems and champagne.
Morning everyone. :)
Button, Barrichello, Massa
I'll try Button, Vettel, Massa.
Barrichelo, Button, Webber
which flags? and what anthems?
I'm going to say they're be atleast 1 Brazilian flag, and the British national anthem will be played
Right, time for bed. Night all, will be back in time for race start, possibly a bit earlier so as to catch the Grid Walk.
Button
Vettel
Barrichello
Some great comments in Alianora's post on the 2010 Tech regs

I've gone from annoyance to sympathy towards our lovely Prime Minister
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/7776187.stm
Yup, the nose on that BMW is definately different. And not pretty at all.

Right, I'm off to sleep. See you all tomorrow for the Parade Lap! :D
Weather.com update for Sunday:
I'm reading this as some slight drizzling in the morning, with the track probably being fully dry by the formation lap.
WHOOP!
Yet another sidepodspace update
Normally on missions to the ISS spacewalks take place on alternate days for this mission there will be spacewalks on 5 consecutive days which I wasn't expecting. Assuming i am translating mission days properly and the launch happens on Monday the first spacewalk should be on Friday and the last on the following Tuesday. Each spacewalk will last 6.5 to 7 hours. I guess there is going to be a lot of I spy.
Here's an interesting stat:
From 1991-2004, the polesitter at Barcelona has won the championship - each and every time without fail.
From 2005-2008, though, the polesitter has only gone on to win the championship once (Alonso in 2006).
Surely in those years, the pole sitter was in a very dominant car? It's only the last 4 years or so the championship has been competitive.
At least to my blurred memory
Windguru predicts no rain until Thursday afternoon, which might be a bit late for those hoping for a shake-up in the order.
BBC predicting a lot of rain in the general area but not necessarily any at the track itself.
Then again meterology has never been a completely exact science...
Not necessarily. In particular, non-dominant cars on pole were Senna in 1991, Villeneuve in 1997, Hakkinen in 1999, and Schumacher in 2000 and 2003.
:D
And even then, it looks like it's more of a drizzle than proper rain.
I'm still saying we'll have a dry race.
Hmm I would have thought the 97 williams was very dominant, and a little less so those Ferraris, but I see your point.
Strap in for a procession
The 97 Williams SHOULD'VE been dominant, but the drivers didn't squeeze the full potential out of the car.
The 2000 and 2003 Ferraris had very stiff competition for the title.
Like I say, blurry memory. I'm remembering the season result I guess.
What the 91-2004 result probably *do* show, is that those were the best all round cars, and I think that's what Barcelona shows up.
Yep, agreed on that point. And yet...
Look at the 2005-2008 results again. It may no longer accurately predict the drivers champion, but it has predicted the CONSTRUCTORS championship for the last 3 years.
2006: Renault
2007: Ferrari
2008: Ferrari
That must be very good news for Brawn. And if Button emerges as the only Brawn driver that will properly contend for the title, he must like his chances a lot. ;)
Very true, although it might have got the 2007 result wrong, but for that little FIA hearing.
I get the fealing, as long as he can stay ahead of Massa, that Button will walk away with this race.
Just noticed that Colin McRae's protegé Kris Meeke won the latest round of the IRC championship. He is a really good driver and despite backing from McRae for several years he has struggled to get a drive.
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/75199
Talk about a championship in trouble. F1 should be taking a good look at the mess that world rallying is in.
Max screwed the WRC and the sportscar championship. I am sure Bernie will have rewarded him for getting a lot of people to stop wathing those championships and switching to F1.
Boy, you're a brave one to predict that...
I predict a person in 1st, another in 2nd, and a person in third.
Okay. I will go for Barrichello, Kubica and Trulli.
If the '97 Williams was very dominant a guy like Damon Hill could have won races...
I did not see "Hurrying Heinz" get a ton of wins with the '97 Williams, or 2nd places or thirds for that matter.
I still say that the '97 Williams was one of Williams lesser triumphs and I was a Williamas fan back then. And please do not talk to be about Williams botched pit stops back then. It was the best arguement for Steven Roy's "No Pit Stops" fanaticial beliefs.
Just thinking of a silly song....Is Catalunya on a Plain?
Oh I hope not
morning all. 12+ hours til my hosting debut and I'm spending my afternoon trying to think of questions. Hooray!
So what time will theat be for us?
live broadcast starts at 4am but the debrief is done first
Hmmm, I might be a late listener for the Panel then, if I can get up
Just ordered a pizza to help me write panel questions :D
Hehehe. Should we expect pizza-related questions, then? ;)
I just realised the one I ordered is F1 related, its called the Chicken Monaco. :D
The panel question is: is it tasty? answer is: yes.
Oh no... Maybe you should ask, "If today's race were a pizza, what flavor would it be?" :D
heh I have come up with about 30 questions similar to that, its the serious "news related" ones I struggle with.
:D Any way I can help? :) There's a lot of topics out there: The FOTA meeting this week, Flav's temperament, Lewis' terse post-quali interview, even Kubica's whingeing.
I'm too paranoid about asking things similar to that which has been asked before, but I think I'm getting somewhere now that I'm trying :D If I get stuck I'll come ask for help :D
As long as you ask about anything that's happened since the latest panel, you should be fine. :)
That said, perhaps we should have a master page of questions that have been asked before on the Wiki. I think that would greatly help any panel host, whether new or experienced. :D
Hello!
All this waking up early for exams means Im physically not able to have a lie in anymore :(
Amy, did you see the BATracer results?
that is something I am plotting because I have noted down all the questions from the previous panels. I shall add them to the wiki when I find time, probably tomorrow :)
Sure did, not a great race from myself, but coming into the last race if I can stay in the top 10 I'll be happy.
Didn't know you did that, Amy! Wow, thank you. :D
Good Plan!
I just cant believe how close it is with one race left...
Al: 91
Scott: 89
Lou: 88
Im also slightly pleased that none of them are able to beat my total (126) from last year, thats not egotistical is it? :P
That is neck-and-neck! Scott is McLaren, Lou is Brawn... Al is Ferrari? Abu Dhabi's first BATrace may be a cracker!
Out of curiosity, who has the most wins?
And no, that's not egotistical. :P
Well you got Lou right....Scott is Red Bull and Al is BMW Sauber ;)
Al:5 wins
Lou:4 wins
Scott: 6 wins
This season its more realistic as only those 3 who have won (plus Chris Lee, Scotts team mate).
Im glad to hear that!
I total that as 16 races... so two to go then? I'm putting my money on Lou. :D How about the constructors?
Again, close but not cigar...1 to go ;) Seeing as Lou drove a Honda in the 2008 game, It would be rather fitting if she won!
BMW: 138
Brawn: 129
Red Bull: 114
Wait - do we only have 17 races this year??
*Looks at Wikipedia*
Oh. We do only have 17 this year... :D
RIP France and Canada :(
France can go to hell, but Canada we hardly knew thee :(
Parade Lap is on at 11 AM BST, right?
Looks like I'll miss it. Being asked to do something from 11AM-12NN BST. Unbelievable. :(
I thought it was ten past ten?
Oh and I cannot believe how close the BAT championship is! :D
Oh - maybe it's TWO hours then. :D Yay! At least I'll be around for the first 30-45 minutes. :)
The three of you should have a press conference in the comments - that would be fun. Hehe. :D
Ah, in that case it might be ten past 11. Sorry, Journeyer.
its 2 hours before the race, no? one hour before the bbc coverage? I'll be here, don't have to leave for the pub until 30 minutes before race start :D
Oh, fudgesticks. :(
Have you watched previous Parade Laps live as a lurker, Amy?
nope, I used to go to the pub a lot earlier and leave the laptop at home :D
BBC F1 site says the programme starts at ten past 12.
you've been missing a lot then. :D will you live comment from the pub?
Also shows "The Spanish Grand Prix: Part 1" and "Part 2". Erm...
i will if i can but theres normally quite a crowd around any live timing screens so I might not get a chance if there is a lack of laptops around.
You'll love it. In the final PL of 2008 for Brazil, Mr C made a cupcake live on SPC. It was hilarious to say the least. :D
I was watching that this morning actually, some comments and things are really hilarious in hindsight when you know how the race actually panned out :D
I also really enjoyed Mr C's admission he had no idea how to break an egg.
Really? Like what? :)
I suggest you split-screen live timing and LCLT/Doohickey. ;) It works for me. :D
thats what I normally do too, but I hate commenting on things when other people are watching. Drives me nuts having people reading over my shoulder :D
I PMSL at the time :D
PMSL?
Hehe. Good point that. Still, do leave a comment from time to time so we know you're there. :D
oh yes, someone has to remind you all of where kovalainen is ;)
Weather report:
ProWeather - AM Drizzle, 30% chance of rain
WeatherBug - Partly cloudy, mild, 0% chance of rain
MSN Weather - PM Clouds, 15% chance of rain
Accuweather - Clouds yielding to sun
Weather.com - AM Drizzle, 30% of rain
Basically, it looks like if there's going to be rain, it'll be this morning and just a drizzle. So for the race itself we should have some lovely sunshine, and maybe one or two high winds.
My assessment yesterday looks to be right on the mark then. :D
Oh and PL related, if Mr C has forgotten my song request for the show, it's Spanish Rose by Munkey Juice. :)
As long as its not a 2 hour race because 2 hour races strand me in the middle of Melbourne city. Last tram leaves at midnight :D
We haven't forgotten.
:)
Morning all. Laying in bed on a Sunday morning with a cold drink and your alarm playing sigur Ros and Pink Floyd songs = bliss. :)
3rd or 4th race in a row where I've gone to the bottom 3 or 4 on the first lap in batracer. :(
Sounds alright.
Some assorted Rat Pack for me.
attention panellists: I just put some names in a hat ;)
My soul is prepared. ;)
Podium... Vettel, Button, Massa.
First man out... Piquet
First coffee mug thrown through the TV because of a certain commentator and the fact the Red Button won't seem to work at the moment... 1.09pm.
Just off to grab Sunday papers, will be back in a tic. :)
:D
It's all so quiet....
Shhhh.... shhh....
it'a oh. so still, shhh, shhh,
you're all alone, shhh, shhh,
and so peaceful until...
Dun, da, da, dun, da, da, dun, da, da, dun....
*walks down a street dancing and attacking various items including a postbox*
What did the postbox ever do to Bjork?! Poor thing. That video amuses me far mroe than it should.
It swallowed a letter of hers when she was a child because it didn't have a stamp on it. And she resents it because that's why her mum went to Iceland.
Hehehe :D
sorry to break the silence but what time does the Parade lap start again??
Thanks :)
Perhaps your being too aggressive on your start.
10 past 11. And as Depeche Mode once sang, enjoy the silence!
I put it down to 60 ages ago. Thats why I'm confused, I did better when it was higher!
I thought for a second there you were saying there was a Depeche Mode song called 10 past 11.
Weird, maybe the game doesn't like you :P
Back and ready for the day's racing :D
and I don't like it either! *strops*
Throw your helmet at the door. Go on, I dares ya!
:)
Shove a few cameramen in the paddock while you're at it!
Thank You!! Brain like a sieve which isnt good considering got exams soon!! :P
So just enough time to watch the latest episode of My Name Is Earl...
:D
Morning.
Don't forget to get an ice cream on your way out ;)
Morning Pat, how be you?
Morning.
Rested but feeling guilty for a) the lack of homework I've done and b) not listening to enough podcasts.
The good thing about podcasts is there's no time limit on them!
I'm going to get some brekkie then see if I can do some while the parade lap is on - we'll see how that goes, my guess is not far :-)
Exactly. I'm storing them up. The end of June is going to so great! :-)
RG's aliiiiive.
Have concluded the fact that those two words took about four minutes to get be written means my laptop is slow this morning.
http://www.sidepodcast.com/2009/05/10/live-it-starts-and-ends-with-a-p/
Whilst I'm guessing everybody is in the live comments at the moment pre-race, have a look at this rather nifty live, freehand, Kubica crash being drawn in Photoshop: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27OQQzx_OkQ&feature=channel_page
Rather good is that.
There will be trophies, flags, national anthems and champagne.
which flags? and what anthems? {Comment #7}
I'm predicting the Brazillian flag with the Argentinian national anthem due to a monumental mix-up.
sidepodspace update.
Tomorrow's launch is still on schedule. I am confused
Back :)
Regarding FR, Zero Downforce is up to 198th. Kathi got almost 1000 points! :O
8O
RG's chucking the rule book out are now down to 335th. Still higher than last years champ.
RG will be chucking out a few drivers as well.
ONE THOUSAND?!?!?! What if Massa actually had enough fuel...?
Amy's 30th, Lou's 52nd, Christine has dropped to 58th.
Mrs C down to 58th and Mr C 245th.
Mr C is catching up with me in going down
And I'm up to 115th. :D Yay. :)
I'm happy with that! Even though thats not my main team, turns out having both Brawns is the only way to score points :D
Think its time to pop over to the daily again?
yes, yes I do love the daily.
It is, it is. :)
Hmmm... Kubica's value has gone up a bit. I expect Kimi's value to drop a bit more in the next 24-48 hours. Will I have enough to get him by then? And should I get him for Monaco? Hmmm... Hmmm...
as do i. :D
Now, Fantasy Racers... To Kimi? Or not to Kimi? Can I even get Kimi to start with?
I'm 40th. Off to do my FR stats then...
I love this idea that Ross Brawn the master strategist got the strategy sooooo wrong but by sheer luck his number one driver won the race on what he thought was the wrong strategy. Does not compute
It might (not certainly, maybe not even probably, but might) have been a decent strategy had the Safety Car not intervened. At that point, it comes down to the flexibility of the respective halves of the garage.
Even Homer sometimes nods.
Terrible result for Team Finntaly today, with 3 of the 4 drivers retiring, and the 4th one coming home last.
I debated that, went with Webber in the end
I've had to go down to 3 drivers on a couple of teams because there's no way I'm ever getting rid of Jenson.
My only team had only one driver in the points. Considering I had 7 drivers as well.
Kathi got the second best score overall behind Al Grogan
ooh ouch
Picking six poor drivers is not always a good idea then? ;)
How dare you call Glock poor.
5 poor ones.
Webber's value will go up, I'm sure I won't be able to afford him. I have to aim for something more realistic.
Private Leagues:
1st Sidepodcast - 3,824.80
2nd Autosport F1 - 3,677.80
3rd HelloF1 - 3,620.00
Now that is crushing the competition.
Sell the Toyotas, Hamilton, Kimi as fast as possible - buy Webber, Massa, Barrichello maybe Rosberg,Heidfeld, Alonso and Kubica.
You don't have to keep them for the next race, but this way you will eaarn some money. Don't buy you final team until Friday free practice
But popularity will drive the driver's of choice price up by then
We are still comfortably the top private league ahead of Autosport and Hello F1. Pitlane Fanatic have dropped to sixth
I did that for China and Bahrain - it got me a couple of hundred k's. But there's no one to let go of this time - I have Kubica to keep. :D
:D
[Too easy]
I think they should replace the saftey car in spain next year with the danger car. Way cooler.
Ha!
cooooo.......oool.
Good job Kathi's scoring the amount of points that she is ;)
Is there a way to track one's progress in the SPC league over the year?
:D
BTW, Keith is skeptical of the conspiracy theory - that's his conclusion at the end of the article.
I have decided to start playing financial games with my FR team. So I hace short sold a couple of drivers who I may pick up later in the week if their value goes down and I may not be able to afford if it goes up. I am now considering buying some whose value could go up during the week.
The rules change don't seem to have affected her too much. :D
And for people who don't want to look at a downward line?
Start a spreadsheet
Yes - under your name, click "View Team Scores".
Don't look :D
Not ye and not for a while, I hope.
Ah - just entering the fastest laps for each driver in the race for my spreadsheet and there's a problem. 4 drivers didn't complete a lap. This means that those drivers are higher up in the final average lap result. What should I do?
Don't start a spreadsheet. This also takes less effort which is good when you are not doing well
Don't count race laps because they are meaningless
I can't believe how touch fantasy racers is... I managed to get 1,2,3 and 5 and still went down in the league... Still one place ahead of christine though I suppose.
Shows overall position, not private league
And build a time machine?
Good point. No other way, then. :(
Give them the lowest lap time of the race each
You mean the slowest? ;)
yup, i knew that. just got my commenting all messed up. :D
Ah, that would work actually since the slowest is Heikki's 1'28 before he retired.
My progress alternates between down & up each race, overall though - I'm climbing. Slowly
Yes, of course
[blushes]
poor gearless heikki.
Beat me to it. Hehe. Is Heikki's laptime representative, though, since he had a gearbox issue? Oh well.
hehehe.
Have concluded that I am now screwed for any good results in the future of Fantasy Racers. Might rename 'Rule Book Un-Throwoutable'
So I should do Kimi's instead?
I have gone up every race but that was because my first race was bad. Who could have thought Brawn would win
They didn't complete a lap so would it not be fairer to give them the slowest possible time?
Hey! I thought they'd win. :P
right time to scour for pictures of the cake that is inevitable in the paddock today. That makes a count of 6 cakes from 5 races.
So Heikki's it is then? I'm getting confused here.
Yeah, Bassano has a point. Go with what he's saying. ;)
Question: Using the FR stats, how would you figure out what the best possible team was?
If his was the slowest, then Yes
It's Heildfield's birthday today. look at BMW's pictures
That's tough. It depends on how much starting money one has. After making that assumption, you then look at points per million.
Right done it. Results shall be posted on here in just a sec ;)
Kathi's team is worth 68.9m!!
And thinking like that has ruined my chances of winning FR this season
You can't now unless you can work out what the most amount of money someone could possibly have made by this time in the season and who they could have bought for this race. You can only find out what the highest score was which was Al.
of the 6 cakes this year, Heidfeld has had 2 of them. Maybe if he ate a little less cake he would win a race.
So he has to start from Australia. That makes sense. It will take tons of work to catch up, though.
Cakes?
Maybe he's trying to catch Bobby K in weight? :D
You know, whenever I see 'Bobby K', I think Bobby Kennedy. He's like the polar opposite of Bobby Kubica. :P
once you notice how many photos of cakes in the paddock there are, you spot them everywhere.
Good point. Not to mention the prices change every 1-2 days.
Maybe it is to wind up Kubica because he can't have any cake.
I don't know in which thread to post :(
That's my old team. My team is worth 69.6.
Like I said sell the drivers that were rubbish as fast as possible (i.e. during the race) and pick up the ones that finishe well as soon as the race is over.
How do you know it was Al that scored the most?
I fear the price changes have created a two-tier system in FR
Those who bought Brawn & Red Bull early, on the cheap, and those who did not
It's on the website. 'Grand Prix - Top 25'
Do they? I thought they were only changed after a race?
You may be right, Bassano. But had this system been implemented in 2008, it would be a different story...
Sell during the race?
Nope. They can actually change at any time, but it only changes every 1-2 days.
Now that is dedication! :D
Before their price drops even further, good idea
what?
One of the menu tabs on the right gives you top scorers for this race. The same pull down menu that gives private leagues etc
There are two FR discussions going on in different threads btw
They change much more often than that. It's just that after 1-2 days after a race almost nobody changes their team and then they stay constant
what??
ok, i'll stop doing that now.
At least it's not one discussion in two threads ;)
WEEKS??
:D
THREADS!
Erm... what? :P
GP2 Race 2 is pretty good... Grosjean really looking on form, Steven Roy. :P
Trulli for example. He started the race being worth 10 and by the end of the race he was at 9.7 and now 9.3
Oh dear :( How am I supposed to work out points per million then?
So the values change DURING the race?
Hang on - are the value changes automated? Or does he manually change it during the race??
Shh, no spoilers please
Final Average Lap times from Barcelona:
Button - 1'21.598
Barrichello - 1'21.716
Massa - 1'21.905
Webber - 1'21.945
Rosberg - 1'21.947
Vettel - 1'22.008
Alonso - 1'22.073
Kubica - 1'22.179
Nakajima - 1'22.226
Piquet - 1'22.335
Glock - 1'22.361
Hamilton - 1'22.375
Raikkonen - 1'22.378
Fisichella - 1'22.734
Heidfeld - 1'22.768
Trulli - 1'23.234
Buemi - 1'23.386
Bourdais - 1'23.474
Kovalainen - 1'23.662
Sutil - 1'24.057
Gap from Button to Sutil - 2.459 seconds. SECONDS! ;)
Again, to clarify, Trulli, both STRs and Sutil were given Kovi's 1'28 fastest race lap because they failed to complete the first lap. From now on, any drivers who fail to complete the first lap in the race will be given the slowest fastest lap.
You can't - simple as that.
Or, you can just work it out based on the frozen value at the deadline.
At race end, and now. Will probably fall further by tomorrow
I thik the changes are automated. As soon as a certain amount of people sold a driver the price goes down
Well I'm working it out as the values straight after the race ...
:D
all fr convo moved to daily.
Trying to do stats when the prices change several times per week is a nightmare.
Take a snapshot based on prices as the race begins maybe
My snapshot for the next race will be now.
why not the prices at cut-off point?
One thing that puzzles me - on the F1.com race results page for Barcelona, why in the fastest lap section do we need to know the exact time a driver's fastest lap was set?
One would think the price chnges were initiated by Bernie for all the confusion they are causing ;)
quick quiz:
who is the driver on the left in this picture?
http://motorsport.com/photos/f1/2009/spa/f1-2009-spa-xp-1072.jpg
As in time of day.
yep, that's what i was thinking.
looking at the rubens-3-stop debate, people still very much divided on opinion. both sides have very good points.
HAHA! :D
isn't that heikki?
No, it's Beavis. Oh wait...
someone just tweeted me to "correct" me by telling me that its massa and kimi
Because I thought the values were frozen after the races :(
Fabulous
Yes, Massa drove for McLaren
Of all the people on sidepodcast...
Only frozen after Fri practice, till race end it seems
I had no idea that there was trading going on during a race. I need to hire an assistant.
Real time 3 dimensional graph
!!!
Ah but it's ok because the website posts the values at the cutoff point. So all is well!
They are never ever frozen.
Drivers values can change at any time after the first cut-off and will fluctuate based on their popularity amongst our players.
My calculator draws graphs, would you like to borrow it? :D
:D
Is this from Spain, Kimi needs a jumper?
I MUST see this. Link to the tweet?
I know he is a Finn and he drives the other McLaren
OK, so on the values page, what values are quoted for each driver for each race?
this was mine: http://twitter.com/amyfulton/status/1755444385
this was my reply: http://twitter.com/hrwildberlin/status/1755491429
Kimi?
prices at the cut-off/freeze deadline.
Must be till the race starts if Kathi is selling during a race
Right - that's what I wanted then!
*Shakes head* Ignoring the silver garb, he doesn't even look like Massa. :O
except the on under the monaco flag which is the one the driver has this second and can change any second
That person who replied has issues, man!
:D
No probs, because I won't be using those values until I calculate PPM post Monaco ;)
Isn't it interesting Hamilton's train of thought goes from this:
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/75207
to this:
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/75223
in the space of one afternoon?
noooooooooooooo! i accidently clicked on rosberg and then cancel and he's gone from my team!!!! and i cant afford him now :( :(
since Monaco FP is on Thursday, that means we have a extra whole day to make up our minds, right?
I think they misread everything - yesterday when I tweeted that NZ had better coverage than Australia, they replied that BBC doesn't show practice and they wished they were in Australia. I was like 'what?'
Comment about Hamilton in moderation.
Oh dear, you have to confirm too
Sure you clicked 'Cancel'? You might've clicked 'OK'.
Erm... whaaa? :O
i swear it was cancel. :( boo.
His price may go down before Monaco and let you buy him back at a profit
Wow, more motorsport on Star Sports - this time, it's A1GP highlights from Brands Hatch...
have prices not changed yet?
They've obviously never heard of the Red Button or online coverage.
don't take too long though, because the drivers that done well in FP# will get expensive very fast.
But Rosberg scored today. I expect his value to go up.
Has anyone mentioned that the on track action was quite boring today?
Quite predicable for Barca but I was hoping the bodywork changes would make it a bit better for overtaking
Good point.
the regulations have failed. some may argue that the triple diffusers means the true in intentions were never followed through, but that fact is fugly cars are not easier to overtake.
That's actually a bit awkward. I said Bahrain was a great race and everyone disagreed, yet I personally felt Barcelona wasn't that exciting yet everyone thought it was great. Weird.
am really not enjoying this year's fantasy racers :(
i think the races have been better, but just not necessarily more overtaking
*sigh* If only I'd bought JB and Rubens when they were dirt cheap. If only... :(
I think the problem is the track layout. I think regardless what the rules were cars as fast as F1 are not going to provide good racing there.
Worst race so far in my opinion
[Malaysia was just, kinda out there]
i moved up to 17th in the league today :(
i still think they're successful - it's produced more overtaking than last year, but not as successful as hoped. despite that, we're here, and there's no point in switching back to the old regs. they can tweak the regs to improve racing, but it'll bring us closer to a spec series...
I didn't think Barca 2009 was great. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't so good, either.
i preferred today over bahrain,
We've still to go to the good tracks yet, such as Silverstone, Monza, Spa, Suzuka, etc. Only there will we get a true test of the new regs with the high speed section and infamous corners.
really? i preferred bahrain over today...
I enjoyed Bahrain because I caught loads of action from the in-car camera as it happened
Same. In what sense was today better than 2 weeks ago?
But you weren't exactly lucid and on top form
The black death can make you think funny things ;)
I don't think we've seen the new regs at a proper circuit yet. Perhaps the cars couldn't overtake today because they are all so close - remember they know the circuit too well because they test so much here!
EXACTLY!
Lord only knows what Legard looks and sounds like when you're suffering already
ive sold sutil to buy rosberg and hope sutil will drop a bit more so i can but him back.
although today id have got more points off the remaining money than i did with him
catalunya isn't a proper circuit? what the heck is then?
drama until the very last lap.
here's the thing: if your definition of a proper circuit is Silverstone/Spa/Monza/Suzuka, you're in trouble. they're outnumbered by the Barcelonas and Istanbuls and Valencias of the F1 world. The new regs have to work on all types of circuits - yes, even the crappy ones.
Spa? Monza? Suzuka? Silverstone?
We still have those?
Well, Siverstone & Spa won't be far
110% agreement from me sir.
true, true. still, sutil usually does well at monaco, so it may be worth having a go at him...
no drama, then the last lap
What - just because someone could have run out of fuel?
gimme me a break. see what journeyer just said.
what's the point of regs that make for x4 great races and x13 rubbish ones?
I definitely preferred this race over Bahrain.
Why do you keep Glock, if you don't mind me asking.
More like it
Ah - just entering the fastest laps for each driver in the race for my spreadsheet and there’s a problem. 4 drivers didn’t complete a lap. This means that those drivers are higher up in the final average lap result. What should I do? {Comment #170}
Take the average up to the end of qualifying and give each of them one of it. That way the average stays the same.
If you just want to sort a "fastest lap" chart without using the times in any calculations, stick a letter (or maybe even DNF) in each relevant box. That way, they will automatically be below everyone else's time.
give it time and we wont have 'proper circuits' left
they are dieing a slow death
You haven't recovered either then? ;)
You do have a point. Although Istanbul's not a bad circuit at all!
Istanbul is my favourite circuit EVER. One guess why ;)
yeah, that's true. :D but it's still a tilke-drome, and well, tilke-dromes tend to be cr...
:D
because generally he's alright, but i only bought him in the first place because toyota was doing good-ish
Ummm... No idea on this one. Heikki won in Hungary, right? :D
oh crap I'm mixing my up my Istanbuls with my Budapests again I DO IT EVERY YEAR
i disagree. massa could've ended the day with no points again. that would be 5 races and no points on the board.
and he finished today - trulli didn't. toyota are still 3rd in the constructors, after all. glock is a cheaper alternative to webber.
Well I wasn't ill during Bahrain, so I don't know if that counts.
:D
I was only excited cos I thought he was gonna run out of fuel before the line:D
What I mean is, that only happend in the last few laps, what about the other 55 after the end of the safety car?
If I told my Hungarian colleague you did that she'd come round and slap you silly!
just realized: gimme me? that's like saying "give me me"... :D
pretty much, although i do want webber, but i'd have to sell rosberg and sutil to get him,
If the excitement of this race was that we were waiting for Massa to run out of fuel then why do you oppose the ban on refuelling? ;)
Because Massa always wins?
Granted the start and first corner and the restart were highlights too but apart from that it was all procession and pit strategy.
:D He won't this year, by the looks of it...
HAHAHA! :D
oooh... he has a point there. :D
Language. There is no need to mention Bud********
like when restricted fuel tanks were run in MotoGP, until everyone had sorted out exactly how much they had to run, it was awesome.
brilliant stuff happening with strategy. the massa/vettel battle for refuelling (twice) was ace. watching the brawns duel was fabulous. webber leaping up field also brilliant.
loved the spanish fans when they suddenly twigged alonso could gain a position.
yup, and given that webber is a bad-luck magnet, it's not worth letting go of 2 drivers to get him.
but webber's been scoring well lately - who's the bad-luck magnet now?
:D
What I mean why keep him now. His price is falling and webber's rising. You can swap them back before the Monaco GP and you will have made some money.
my thoughts exactly
this is true, im going to look into it
because we HAVE refuelling, and we still have this. take away refuelling and today would have been diabolical (and i wouldn't have watched).
Ohhh... That's what you meant. :D
Exactly.
My initial guess would be Heikki... Or if it's not him, Kimi.
But you would have the risk of cars running out of fuel near the end - the last lap drama you enjoyed?
ding ding ding we have a winner :(
And NOTHING else.
So basically what that means is you'd watch the start, switch off and switch back on at the end to see if anyone runs out? Riiiight...
i would've switched off by lap 11 and missed it.
plus ferrari were incompetent. that isn't going to happen to every team every race, and then what are you gonna watch?
What's the reasoning for removing refuelling next year?
Is that a silly question given that it's coming from the FIA?
it's expensive for the teams to transport the refuellers and they want bernie to pay.
Costs.
Its to expensive to carry refuelling stuff from race to race
FOTA asked for it. And a majority of fans asked for it too in all previous FIA/F1R surveys, I think.
And yes, that.
this reason sounds odd to me, the planes/trucks are going to the races anyway. so is all the fuel. its just the rigs themselves, surely they're not THAT bad.
So if this doesn't work and everyone complains, does this make all F1 fans who wanted it hypocrits?
Wow, thats a good idea, just changed them.
they asked the wrong fans.
I agree that refuelling does artificially produce place changes but I'd still rather see the action on track. Fix that first
In the grand scheme of things, with the amount of equipment they already take, its not going to be that much more.
it WAS an open survey, anyone could answer it...
To be fair, they asked all F1 fans, or as many as they could. In my eyes, there are no wrong fans. A fan of F1 is just that, nothing else.
they have to buy the refuellers too i believe and pay to maintain them. max said you have to cut costs, so they cut the first thing that they'd rather not have to deal with and be damned with the consequences.
Exactly.
they tried it this year - and it hasn't worked out so well. which is why they may let this set of regs mature first before changing it again.
we are anyway!
i agree.
i wasn't.
did they ask you?
One-stoppers are going to be less likely beginning with a brimmed tank o' gas
fine. but don't ban refuelling until it's fixed.
Yep.
Righto, here's the FR stats: http://drop.io/sidepodcast/asset/fr-stats-xls-2
Could I please have a plug in tonight's debrief if you guys think they are useful?
FOTA? when??
we did last week btw.
That would make too much sense
i answered the survey (each FIA/F1R survey, actually) as soon as i saw it. the first ones turned out to be fruitless, but from what I remember, FOTA reviewed the surveys of the latest one... It was featured on F1R if i remember it correctly...
:D
yep, i answered that one too
I know - cheers for that ;)
Two weeks in a row now.
Actually - I meant to say just a link in the show notes - no need to keep mentioning it... that would be silly!
I am downloading the 5live commentary, tomorrow I'm going to rewatch it with this playing alongside :D
I think the Debrief should be interesting tonight, considering there wasn't a huge amount of action (although I really enjoyed the race) there seems to be quite a lot to dicuss :)
What? I meant the ING fan survey.
really, i heard they conducted a private survey amongst the non-hard core fans.
f1r was mostly hardcore obsessives like us wasn't it?
how much promotion does one spreadsheet need?
Yep, that's the one I was referring to.
I watched it with R5L commentary for the first time today
No Legard, YES!
Did they help for this race?
i'm not sure they used that, but journeyer says they did so i could be wrong.
Are we expecting a Debrief at 7ish?
If so, I need to sort some din dins out
When did they publish it in F1 racing? I might still have the mag lying around somewhere.
sure... ish.
Yeaah sorry I meant to say just put a link in the show notes... it would be silly to mention them again ...
Aha, got the mag the result
if only you had a blog...
I have kept my lineup static until after this race. I have some thinking to do now...
:D
The ish goes without saying ;)
You've done ok so far
Getting there - bad week TBH. The blog is alive though...
Hang on a sec?! In this survey only 18% wanted refuelling banned!
:D Oh no!
Anyway, off to bed for me. Might be around for the Panel. Might. :D
Good night!
!!!
I remember they did a feature on it, but i'm not sure it made a huge amount of difference. I also can't remember there being a majority of fans that didnt want refuelling but i may be wrong.
What year is the survey from?
the council rests.
;)
see ya journeyer
2008.
See ya Big J!
there ya go lol
Last years i believe
but do we know that fota even read it?
Night!
Then it has nothing to do with the fans' opinion then
So in effect FOTA have simply ignored what we want! Absolute ba...
hehehehe.
certain members did, because theyre was the transcript from a meeting of F1 people, but not all
BIG surprise!
scott, what issue was that feature in?
Number 155, January 2009.
fair enough. i believe they would have quoted from it, if it suited the line they were pitching, but i don't think it would've actually made any difference in the long run.
teams begrudge being forced to pay the travel costs of the refuellers and ian phillips has long argued bernie should be paying for them.
He has enough money as it is so it's about time he coughed up for something.
wait, i may be wrong. theres not the feature i thought there was. maybe they sat down in 2007.
small question...they are going to need the rigs during practice and quali arent they?
Me neither, I got trapped with drivers that either do not move in value (Alonso and Glock) or who keep falling in value (Nico and Bobbie K). The problem is the only drivers I can really swap is Bobbie-K for a Force-India (could be worth it). The problem is you need six drivers at least and for them to finish the race. I still preferred last years Fantasy Racers - I seem to have more options of changing my driver line-up.
nope, gravity cans. lightweight and portable.
i don't have time to what kathi's doing.
on the one hand those who put effort in are rewarded. on the other casual entrants are screwed.
My favourite part of this survey is peoples favourite F1 drivers...
0.6% - Ant
0.4% - Piquet
0.3% - Nakajima
0.2% - Sutil
0.1% - Trulli
LOL
glorified jerry cans?
Poor Jarno!
We said the Trulliometer might be a bit low :D
check.
it occurred to me that this race was a good one for heikki, he didn't leave in an ambulance.
90% of people want to stay at classic venues
88% want more affordable prices
57% want manageable budgets set for teams
18% want refuelling banned
17% want reverse grids
I know trains are really bad in this country but wow...
haha, it really does depend how you define good, but none ambulance races is always a good thing
1. We've still got that in a way, but losing Canada didn't help.
2. Still don't have that yet
3. A la the budget cap
4. Got that for next season, but not really what we wanted.
5. No. Just, no.
I mentioned this at the pub :D
56% of people think driver safety is important in f1, i want to meet the 44% who dont :D
ps WHY AM I STILL AWAKE
I was thinking that...
You have a podpanel to do in 3 hours or so? :D
Maybe less?
what time is it there?
maybe more.
;)
Theres a carry on film on....
It's really not that funny :/
3.19AM
Carry On Changing Channels? ;)
you need to see a doctor to get some sleeping tablets or something, you have a problem :P
Carry onto the iplayer i believe
it has been discussed. My mother uses them. Stupid genes.
Once again this is fitting:
http://drop.io/sidepodcast/asset/christmas-back-home-png
you working late, though right?
need to get out of bed at 9.45am :)
you sure you're okay to panel?
ollie's fr update:
http://blogf1.co.uk/2009/05/10/spain-2009-fantasy-racers-update/
and i thought i had sleeping problems.
sometimes its good to use them for a few days to get you back into a *Ahem* normal pattern
most definitely. may go have a wee nap now and skip some of the debrief.
do it
you can always listen to that later. like jon said... sleep!
how long will debrief be and what time should i turn up? :D
sleeeeeeep is goooooood
learn to looove the sleeeeep
:D
8:30pm-ish.
see, thats a whole 2 hours sleep. :D
okies i shall set the alarm for 2 hours!
it WAS an open survey, anyone could answer it… {Comment #378}
I couldn't because the survey wouldn't run on my computer.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_Vj2XfKL-A&eurl=http://www.sofaf1.com/&feature=player_embedded
I have no idea what it's about or why its funny, but it is, so watch it ;)
they tried it this year - and it hasn’t worked out so well. {Comment #382}
That's largely down to two things, whose effects are difficult to tease apart due to the timing of their arrival in F1 - KERS aiding the defenders and the cars being so close together in performance that having enough difference to effect the overtake is rare nowadays.
Never try to mix sport, governance and politics on purpose - it always ends in a big sticky mess!
I go away for less than an hour and come back to 120 comments
Yes but a lot of them don't understand enough to give sensible answers
small question…they are going to need the rigs during practice and quali arent they? {Comment #443}
The rigs they use in practise and qualifying are different (and me's description of "cans" is more accurate). They're not pressurised, are considerably slower and generally live in the garages rather than getting taken out into the fast lane of the pits.
By only having the practise/qualifying rigs, the teams save the costs of lugging one set of rigs round the world.
That's SPC for you! :D
It is the usual status quo thing. Ask people if they want to ban re-fuelling they will say no. When re-fuelling was introduced in the first place everyone complained that it should be banned because it was dangerous.
The council rests on the basis that 18% of the wrong F1 fans agree with him ?
No, 18% do want refuelling.
That's Alex not working again :)
Yup, i want his job!!! lol
Isn't that more like 82%?
oooh yeah, thats what i meant :D
18% want a ban on refuelling...
Helloooo, is anyone here?
Well...err...for sure...err...I think that was...err...very...good. Can I have my magnum now?
Am trying to coax folk over here
Hello!
*sits in lovely daily thread*
I can do other driver impressions. I've tried doing Alonso, Rubens and I think Kubica too.
*Is chucked into daily thread hitting the LIVE : Spain - The Race thread on the way*
We *hearts* Daily thread very much :)
Ok.. I need recommendations of classic films to watch.
I need to work on mine ;)
its the 11th :(
Well thats just rude that
I can do a Ray Romano impression, and Kermit the Frog. Thats it. :)
The original "Cape Fear"
here too
((amy)) for living the other side of the date line...
Kathi and I are attacking from the future!
:)
Argh!!
For some reason I thought Finland was only an hour ahead...
I feel tired now...
Hmmm. Not seen it. *loads up lovefilm*
I have a 1001 Movies You Must See.. book
Any particular decade
RG on wiki part 1
http://wiki.sidepodcast.com/page/Best+of+Sidepodpanel
Not really.
Been going through the Laurel and Hardy and Chaplin box sets recently.
Can we implement some kind of voting system?
Well maybe make a list and then the votes?
Definative stuff :-)
Is it the Halliwells book? Keep on seing one in the local Waterstones.
I'm trying to get the Buster Keaton films for a decent price...
Steven Jay Schneider, was given it for Christmas
The Killing Fields
The Mission
The Princess Bride
Genevive. The Ladykillers, The Lavender Hill Mob, The Titfield Thunderbolt, The Smallest Show on Earth
Plus anyone of a number of things that we have here :-)
Start with all the things that the Daily Mail (yes, I know, rolls eyes) gave away a few years ago; excise most of the 'war' films; and then go from there perhaps?
More seriously though - what do *you* mean by 'classic'? Are you talking of an era, or a genre, or in that more 'general' sense that denotes box office takings?
Or just anything with a fast something in it?
*adds to list*
Ladykillers is supreme. Shame the remake was terribly - had Tom Hanks in it so no wonder...
Do you want musicals with that?
Doesn't matter if they were commercial successes - some of my favourite films technically flopped.
I'll watch almost anything though
A good film and a film that made loads of money aren't usually the same thing?
Not normally my thing - but I'll give them a go. :D
Just set my media player to random and its picked out an episode of the Goodies. :D
LOL at musicals being compared to fries...

Try "The Seven Samurai" it's a clasic.
I am iffy on "Spartacus". Little too long until the end.
"Paths of Glory" is excellent.
Ealing comedies....
I just bought the Die Hard quadrilogy on Blu-Ray :D
they're classics ;)
Not really...
Titanic, Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Pothead, Star Wars Episode 1, Spider-Man 3, Da Vinci Code, Matrix Reloaded
All in the top 30 highest grossing films.
I just bought Lions for Lambs.
NOT a classic :(
Amadeus
The Killing Fields
Brazil
Prizzi's Honor
Stand By Me
I just named several. and Genevive which although often described as the definitive Ealiing comedy, wasn't actually made by the Ealing studio. Genevive is also more or less on topic as it features a car race.
The Empire Strikes Back is still the best of all the Star Wars series:
"Come to the Dark Side, Luke.... we have ......cookies"
Some of the best films ever!
On that subject - there are also the Herbies, the first Cannonball run and several more that are not-bad films...
although I don't know if they could be considered 'classic'...
I was brought up on them.
Withnail And I
Drugstore Cowboy
My Left Foot
Jacob's Ladder
Nikita
Why are we listing loads of films now?
One I am still trying to get my hands on is "the wrong box"
Oh
Studio Ghibli films are definately modern classics (even though some date from 20+ years ago :-) )
Flibster asked for classic film suggestions
Being a top grosser usually measn that your movie benefitted from higher ticket prices..... Please adjust this for inflation and I think "Wizard of Oz" takes top spot and that was made like in the 50's?
Cool Runnings!!!!

Already have them on HD-DVD and Bluray. *cough converted from HD-DVD*
Already have them too. :D
That has made me angrier than you get when I say "Minardi DNA...."
Gone with the wind actually.
Then Star Wars Ep 4
Another one I already have on DVD. :D
Seriously? It's like the greatest film of all time.
What about...ummm *thinks* HSM1 and HSM3? :D
1939 - it was the first feature to have colour.

Just had a thought, Monaco should have a new name on the winners list this year
Noooo wash your keyboard out *NOW*
I prefer to listen to it while playing Dark Side of the Moon - it's why I have the US edition thats the correct length.
Trulli could win it?
:D
I'm impressed that it took that long for people to hate me, usually it's instant
Don't be daft ;)
Watch it even... Mind failure..
I'm going for Webber
Morning everyone. :D
No, he won there already in 04. :P
How did the debrief and panel go?
I'm claiming that I don't know what you are on about. :D
Gotta be Vettel... But hey, Button and Barrichello haven't won there yet. :D
Amy was a great host
No, I was trying to prove Mr Bassano wrong by saying someone who had won it can win it again
HSM1? What's that?
Wasn't that just an urban myth?
debrief was hard work until the phonecalls. tech issues sort of took the energy out of it.
panel was brilliant :)
High School Music 1 and 3 :D
coughhighschoolmusicalcough
So should we name the express lift after her already? :P
I don't hate *you*... its just those particular 'not-films'... they are every-sodding-where and some people (not here) try to tell me that they are equivalent to 'fame' (muttermutter) usually when they are younger than I am mind... rolls eyes
Ohhh... Alonso already did (06-07). :P
Dark Side or Oz?
Oh sweet Jesus!
Rightio, RG is going now. Have a nice night and see ya tomorrow afternoon
I have to say that the usual spark seemed absent. Panel made up for it.
Nope.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Side_of_the_Rainbow
If you do not know please do not bother to enlighten yourself it isn't worth it!!
what happened to 2?
Oooh... bandwidth issues?
Amy really put a lot of effort into it - I mean, she listed down all previous panel questions! That takes a lot of effort. :)
Laters!
Sleep good
It's....just a bit rubbish
parade lap also doesn't help. we may need to rethink this.
nope. doohickey issues.
1 and 3 aren't?
2 wasn't so bad... 3 got uber-cheesy already.
and then I wrote novel like questions!
3 shows in one day is too much I'd imagine
Total urban mith... tried it whilst at uni (don't ask - lecturer with a very nice quadraphonic system in his house) and doesn't follow through...
nooo, 3 was great
nooooo, they are amazing. you just have to accept the crass
i think two is too much to be honest. we'll have to see how monaco goes.
Sounds like pants to me...
From the Wikipedia article
On the episode of The Colbert Report that aired 10/3/07, Stephen Colbert introduced his guest, former Apollo 13 astronaut Jim Lovell, as someone who "had seen the Dark Side of the Moon." Colbert promised to ask him if "he saw it while listening to the Wizard of Oz soundtrack."
:D
Yup, twas what I was thinking. Perhaps Parade Lap shouldn't be for every European race? Maybe you should just pick the major ones...
the crass? more like the mush. :D
That's why I suggested alternating Debrief and Panel
Not an issue for a while now
We did a lot of odd things on that course.....
... heck I spent years making loops and mithering about magic :-D
Agreed. I'd say Silverstone and Monaco, but you probably need a rest.
pah. just embrace the 10 year old girl inside you :P
Um... how old are you again/?
LPG is *not* old, she refuses to think that...
http://www.mynameisirl.com/2009/05/quote-of-day_09.html
Speaking of Pink Floyd...
Um, that's not a thought I want to have...
You need it correctly sync'd
There is specific points that need to tie up.
Hence US edition and ideally a pitch corrected version on vinyl... *in my case - fanedited onto the same disc. ;)*
sure. but am think parade plus debrief is too hard. we'll see, twas only the first one this weekend.
it's best not to think about it ;)
Well, this is the last Panel for a while. Maybe they'll feel better with just 2 shows. But if it doesn't work, they can reduce Parade Lap to a major-race-only thing.
Then I'd vote for Debrief
tick
tick
tick...
plus lecturer was, um, interestingly connected in the 60's (I said don't ask)
All of which merely highlights the absurdness of the whole concept.
absolutely. might be fine, maybe the race didn't lead to good conversation. i does feel like we've had a long old day though.
us too ;)
How was Legard today?
Croft & Ant weren't stunning but didn't annoy me in the slightest
Maybe not the most exciting race to switch commentators
you've had a long day? ;)
Oh - there was also a small questionmark about pharmacuticals needing to be involved for the purpose of makign you think that it worked...
;)
It's a purely mental thing - I also think it's a better way to watch the film.
It's just like Star Wars you know
YOU! SLEEP!
:D:D
:D
UK and US releases of films on DVD and video are differnet lengths - It's about 4% faster int he UK.
You can hear the difference if you have good pitch.
in a minuuuuuuute
Well, I remember him making some errors. The one I quickly remember is of him saying Rubens entered the pits when it was actually Jenson.
That said, had I had a choice, I'd still pick BBC TV. Martin and Ted are too good to let go - for me, anyway. :D
it's already 8 AM where she is. no point in sleeping. :D
actually, now. I wanted to look at more GP pictures but every. single. one. is of THAT woman. Bah.
Don't think so
:D
and on the subject of Oz
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8041700.stm
:-(
Fabulous. The panel started a bit slowly then became one of the best
If you shout, won't that have the opposite effect?
Or is this headology at work?
Not sure why they'd keep taking pictures of her... Feeds her ego too much. If you're gonna take pictures of a woman, take pictures of Jessica, not her. :P
Expect more of this at Monaco.
I thought you were on about swine flu
One of the best panels yet? From one of the most prolific panelists we have? Well done, Amy! :)
Agreed
My thoughts are that she must be feeling fragile by now, so if i shout, she'll actually go to bed.
lol
:D That's what I first thought! Hahahaha!
Night RG
Thats H1N1 ;)
Right - I'm off to lay back and watch one of my favourite films.
Clerks.
Amy, Look into my eyes, the eyes, the eyes, not around the eyes, don't look around the eyes, look into my eyes....
Clerks II is even better IMHO
Your under :P
i'm under?
Wow. tough choice - contract swine flu or watch High School Musical 1, 2 and 3.
Down....
(sorry)
I'll take my chances with the flu!
Good, now you better stay that way until I come back and post the rest of the catchphrase.
Swine Flu - it's curable
HSM may cause permanent scarring
HSM1, H1N1, they're all the same. :P
ok i'm off to get some sleep to see if i can shift this cold thing before my exam in the morning (eeeeeekk!) night all! x
Both great - Rosario Dawson is definately a highlight. ;)
try again....
Down.....
(sorry, again)
:D
Night!!
Good luck, you'll do great!
good luck! :) night!
ok. have gone through photos and saved all the ones of kimi+heikki together, and all the ones with cake. NOW i sleep. night all!
I thought that was MSM...?
Oh, no, hang on, that's to relive the scars/////
night night Amy
GOOD! hehehee.
Night! See you in about 1 hour
HSM was described to me as "Grease without the Sex"...
Goodnight to all those leaving
Grease has sex in it? I must have missed that bit
Or the good songs...
Did you find cake earlier?
And the music.
Or plot.
or....
Good night all and thanks for another awesome panel...
References
Not in it, but it is mentioned.
Ahhh ok.
That's the word I was flailing for.
Only ever seen the ITV edited version then? ;-)
down under
haha, what versions do you watch!?
Night Lou
I saw it in the cinema, once on initial release and was dragged along again for the 21st anniversary re-release
If you still don't understand, go and read the lyrics to Greased Lightnin'
The song alludes to the fact that those driving it will find themselves inundated by the attention of many young females.
Good night
What had you done wrong?
Oi! Grease = Classic.
1st time I was too young to argue (but did enjoy)
2nd: wasn't my turn to choose :D
First time I went to the theatre as a young'un, I asked my parents when the cartoons were coming on - I was so used to the cinema by the age of 4.. :D
G'night Amy and Lou. :)
Just realized: Bahrain/Spain ends the run of race thrillers we've been seeing since last year. In a span of Belgium 2008 - China 2009 (9 races), we only had 1 duff race (China 2008).
2 iffy races in a row ends that run.
Good night everybody and good luck for your exam Lou :)
Question about Grid laptime contest. When are we finally getting a new track/car?
Doesnt hte winner choose?
Yeah, but it's been the same track and car for 2 weeks now.
