Can you believe it. This time next week you will know the result of the Australian Grand Prix. You will see how the extraordinarily talented Timo Glock gets Marussia Virgin's first ever point, a spectacular crash which takes out half the field leaving Sergio Perez to gain a debut win.
If you are asking why I didn't say Kobayashi will win, well, lets be honest here, a spectacular crash will involve him somehow.
On with the daily.

Bluffer: Llllllaaaaaaaaaaadies and gentlemen, welcome to the Sidepodcast Arena, Rockall, for the chance to become the SBA Chaaaaampion of the World. In association with Red Nose Productions and Crash Ice Promotions, we are pleased to present our main event. After successes for the Bib against Mario Ballotelli, and the knockout of England from Ireland, lets get this show on the road. In the yellow corner, hailing from Miiiiiiilan, Italy, Piiiiiiiiiiirellllliiiiii.
[Entrance is reliant on lights, with several different colours, red, yellow, white, orange for example focusing on Pirelli, it strolls down composed, before getting worn out before it's reached the ropes and requiring a change]
Rowling: Well, Punce, this one looks weak on paper, I honestly can't see this lasting long.
Punce: He's gonna get Stoner-ed here, it's pointless trying, the guy he's up against is undefeated in almost a billion bouts, he can make a match up that looks like a brawl into something which lasts less than two rounds.
Rowling: Back to Bluffer.
Bluffer: Aaaaaand in the red corner, hailing from Brain, Your Body, the undefeated, SBA Chaaaaaaaaampion of the Woooooooooorld, Common Seeeeeeeeeeeeense.
[Entrance is full of style, he struts his stuff with fireworks either side as he walks past, to his side are two rather good looking girls, behind him people on unicycles are juggling with fire while an elephant sings the intro music of 'I Am the One and Only']
Rowling: This kid looks brilliant.
Punce: Oh I love him. He's Giggling here, on the weigh in, on the interviews on TV and Radio, this boy has got it in the bag and he knows it, Pirelli knows it, frankly, the whole arena knows it.
Rowling: Yeah.
Bluffer: Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you 12 rounds of boxing at the highest standard, here we go, lllllllleeeeeeeeets get ready to ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuumblllleeee.
Rowling: So they touch gloves and we are off, Pirelli goes in for a quick start, jab lands on the gloves, Common Sense is jibing him, telling him its not going to work, he tries a multitude of options now Pirelli, going for the same, that looked the same, Common Sense thinks the same, he's got him on the ropes now, Common Sense is battering him, Pirelli can't hold up much longer and it is down, down, down. The ref counts 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. No signs of life. 9. 10. Pirelli are out, Common Sense maintains his unbeaten run, and he is happy. Fist pump to the crowd, easier than Solis, easier than Khan. Thank you and goodnight says he.
Bluffer: Maintaining his SBA Championship, the reigning and undesputed Chaaaaaampion of the World, Commmon Sense!
hehe, poor koby :)
Hello new daily!
I love that Pirelli needs a rest before it event reaches the ring :)
Love the daily RG
today is sidepodcast's twitter birthday... apparently.

Half an ASCII cake for Sidepodcast :D
who had the other half? ;)
The left-hand side of my monitor, by the look of it.
*glares at mouse*
*mouse attempts to protest that it's on the wrong side of the computer to be guilty and blames the microphone-to-dictaphone cable*
*microphone-to-dictaphone cable attempts to protest that it's been asleep the whole time and blames the mouse*
*mouse and cable reminded that inanimate objects cannot make protests*
How does it work out that @F1Minute is Godfather?
not a clue. kinda clever. oddly gavin is christine's godfather.
I don't know. Much as I don't know how @clubforce can be my Twitter's godfather (supportee, yes, but godfather?) My Twitter birthday is 14 May, incidentally.
@TooMuchRacing was born 24 January 2009, Godfather is @OneLapDown oddly enough.
@PatWotton was born 15 June 2009, Godfather is @TnMChris.
Sidepodcast is F1Minute's godfather too.
My godfather is exectweets?? If you keep clicking on the godfather I end up back at 2007 with two people who are each other's godfather
will the mouse and cable try to overthrow the dicta[tor]phone?
They wouldn't be founding members of Twitter by any chance?
No
One of my followers has no godfather at all, interestingly enough.
I like this - the godfather of @TeamLotus is given as... ...@heikkikovalainen!
I am sure Amy will approve
Sorry, that should have been @H_Kovalainen. Also, @H_Kovalainen and @katahyde have each other as godfathers, confirming Steven's statement that it's not just founders who have that effect.
I guess we need another site now that tells us whose godfather we are
@sidepodcast and @F1Minute are the same
I've just compiled the figures for the TMR Game. I might check them again in the morning when I'm not drinking Southern Comfort.
that's a good idea. from what i can tell, a godfather is the person who introduced you to twitter, but in the case of f1minute that's clearly not correct.
It is definitely no right for me either
not
all our others are okay. so big pic was introduced by sidepodcast and so was fbfb.
Clubforce definitely didn't introduce me to Twitter, though I do remember telling one of the fora I was on about it about 3 months before joining the network.
I was introduced to Twitter by my brother who ironically does not have a Twitter account...
I was introduced to it by Christine several months after she told me not to have anything to do with it and get an identi.ca account instead
heheheheheheeeee!
oops.
Er errr. From Shane in Melbourne:
@shagers:
The temps at Albert Park this weekend, are very similar to the Valencia test, where the tyres lasted only 12 laps a stint. 4 stops likely.
This is quite worrying...
the cars have arrived:
@ausgrandprix: Look what we just spotted in Aus #GrandPrix pit lane!!! @redbullf1spy #F1 #RedBull http://yfrog.com/h7vmpoaj http://yfrog.com/h7vjlkpj
If they raced with those aerodynamics there would be more overtaking
I think I'm having a kidney attack. I hope I live to see the race.
What is a kidney attack? Or am I going to regret asking?
*hug*
I just saw the homepage note for the daily :)
That'll be all the binge drinking
It feels like someone is driving nails into my side. Like a stitch but I'm just sitting in a chair so I figure it's like a heart attack but it's my kidneys.
My twitter godfather is apparently the McLaren eShop. I don't get it.
That's odd. Drink water.
A heart attack for your kidneys? Both of them. I am pretty certain you can't have a kidney attack.
Just the left one :D
The pain seems to have subsided, I think the comments fixed me. Thanks comments.
I have to go shopping at lunch time to find some sort of portable power recharger thingy for my phone because I don't think it's going to last a whole day at the track and you need a screwdriver to change the battery in it. Any suggestions of good ones to look out for?
hehehe!
bugger, that was a genuine excuse for some eastenders drums.
Still, drink some water anyway
You're welcome :)
I drink much water during the working day. Gives me an excuse to leave my desk often.
You don't need that one so don't worry about it.
Definitely
having spare organs is awesome. I have a friend who was only born with one, sucks to be her.
Melbourne weather forecast from @elphino
http://twitpic.com/4bn61m
It's slightly different to the official government one, but still, it won't be hot and it'll probably be raining.
http://www.bom.gov.au/vic/forecasts/melbourne.shtml
Don't want to get into her position too soon, I'm planning to keep my spares for later. :)
Rain would be fun, that would completely screw up the Pirelli analysis, keeps the uncertainty a little longer. Mind you I reckon Melbourne could be the few races I prefer dry.
as someone sitting in the stands, I agree. Two years of being rained on in a row would not be fair, especially when I'm expecting to be poured on two weeks later.
It's also a unique course, the results there in the dry aren't always the same as the rest of the year anyway. Doesn't need that added twist.
It's a great circuit. I demand you all come and visit.
Would love to, need lottery win first
i made it in the reverse direction without the lottery!
you stayed in some pretty crappy places though.
Got other things in the queue first
I was being nosy on the BARB TV ratings site (which seems to have now crashed), I'm amazed at the small numbers Eurosport has. Maybe that was just for the particular week.
I was seeing if it would be feasible - if I had time - to see how different motorsports rated. Looks like you have to sign up for the detailed stuff, otherwise you can only get 'top tens' for each channel.
I know someone does this on the DigitalSpy forum but I can't be bothered wading through the huge thread they have
Which sounds odd because I can be bothered to wade through the actual numbers :D
Sleep time. A day off coming up. When I wake up will I want to be busy or lazy? :)
fair enough Pat :) and thanks Robert if I think of anything I'll make a comment
fair enough Pat :) and thanks Robert if I think of anything I'll make a comment
oh stupid comments :( it told me they werent posting because i was way underground and had no 3g signal :(
Mine too...
http://twbirthday.com/startledbunny/
I thought I joined on the 23rd, but apparently not.
I'm wondering if you joined for the same reason, after listening to a TWiT episode, when everybody was going on about twitter.
morning folks
morning!
And sidepodcast is my godfather!
He's my Twitter mirror - whenever I tweet he always replies!
Oh dear: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/90077
How much did GL pay David then?
hi gavin
I don't think they did. I think Hunt saw an opportunity for larger money bags and wants in
Nobody will come out of this looking good eh...
Nope
:/
Morning. Just got up. :)
Alan Baldwin says it starts tomorrow:
My understanding is that Lotus v Lotus starts tomorrow in London High Court. Today should be just administrative stuff.
Jenson (and Craig Lowndes) are due to drive a 2009 mclaren at Bathurst tomorrow. This would be awesome, except it's looking like rain. :-(
Booooooo.
Gah!!
I don't know how long I've been waiting to see an F1 car on that circuit.
aw no
Cavin confirms Tony Kanaan to KV Racing alongside Sato and Viso. He'll do wonders for that team.
http://blogs.indystar.com/racingexpert/2011/03/21/finally-kanaan-finalizes-his-ride/
It was coming, but still surprised they left it so late.
(Quietly wondering where the stream will come from on Sunday night...)
One thing I learned in business is never to trust the smiles and appearances etc . It is all only the packaging. The fact that Tony Fernades has the image of smiling friendly person does not neccessarily mean he is without blemish in all of this (although he may be)... The same applies to Hunt and to Bahar (although not too many people see Bahar as a nice guy in all this :-) ) When people smell opportunities in the world of big business ( big being very relative terms) the gloves are off ...
exactly
YAAAY!!
While Sato may be a bit long in the game, this could be the move that finally settles Viso down into a quick, albeit steadier driver.
It is good to have it confirmed, I just hope it doesn't fall apart again.
Justin.tv or Ustream.
Yep - just hope someone breaks into the HD feed
:D
Probably more reliable than Indycar.com anyway ;)
Yup, Exactly
Wise words. Hopefully the truth will come out in this court case.
I'm not sure it will.
The whole thing is bizarre. lotus should have been left to sleep.
GP+ preview is out. Im off to read.
Joy of joys. Mr Legard will be doing boat race comms... but for TV or radio?
@jlegard:
@markblundellF1 Busy in all sorts of different fun things. Currently prepping for boat race commentary. On the river now with Oxford!
Interesting comment in this article: http://joesaward.wordpress.com/2011/03/21/focus-moves-to-the-high-court/
:D
Hmmmm flicking through GP+ and there is a big air Asia add. Now, I'm not so surprised about the bias I read from mr Saward.
My friend was in that years ago and he watches that every year!
wait til you see the second one...
And for those who can't?
Interesting.
Or perhaps the third one.....?
i've only got to page 52 so far
Keep going......
I also got an alternate viewpoint last weekend on the Liuzzi/Di Resta saga. Apparently Liuzzi signed some sort of deal with Mike Gascoyne shortly before MG was booted out of the team, and the deal had loads of penalty clauses in Tonio's favour but none for the team on behalf of performance.
It was alleged that Mercedes paid off Liuzzi as they wanted Di Resta in the car.
That, I can believe.
For better or worse
Smart guys. If MG knew he was going to be forced out, saddle the team with a contract they can't get out of.
I thought that may have happened.
I have to sleep, but I will leave with these thoughts:
There was some in these comments alleging possible bias of autosport towards Renault because of sponsorship deals. Now I see GP+ with three (!) air Asia adds. Alll I can say is hmmmmmmmmmm.
Roll on the discussion I think :-)
i See what you mean, but at the same time advertising can help pay a lot of bills...
good night
Oh I agree completely. I just wonder about how some people were ready do accuse autosport of some sort of bias.
I see what you mean, but I think the difference comes from the way Autosport planted it on the front cover and then followed through with a story about, as opposed to just plain old advertising
you can all come to my house, it's on TV here :)
Cheers Amy
:D
I vote you ask Joe about that on Wednesday :)
ooh, yay.
ooh yikes.
aww I didn't realise Ant wasn't going to be in Melbourne this year. I guess we'll just have to stalk Crofty alone :(
where is he?
no idea, he tweeted "Just arrived back in the UK after a tough weekends racing! Shame I'll be missing Oz GP but I'll back with @5LiveF1 for Mal & Chi"
Hmmm... Paffett back in..?
Must be too knackered after Sebring?
maybe Karun? Crofty did send a twitpic of him from the airport.
Ace
ooh Heikki is flying AirAsia to Melbourne. If it's good enough for him, it's good enough for me #16daystogo
"gp+ in association with motorsport.com"
aren't they gmm people?
yes: http://www.motorsport.com/#/f1/article/?v=2&s=1&i=1&id=401913
what the?
gosh I'm looking forward to Wednesday.
oh dear
oh dear :(
Soon SPC will be the only trustworthy source for F1 news on the net!!
i'm not fussed about the air asia ads, they're just like autosport run. joe's problem is he only has one sponsor so it looks weird.
but motor-feckin-sport.com?
Surely there is some mistake here - how can he associate with them when he keeps referring to GMM as "Monkeys with Typewriters"?
Shall I head down to the airport with a tape recorder and flash bulb cameraman to demand answers when he transits?!!?
Could you..?!
;)
where abouts in the issue does it say that motorsport.com thing. I does not subscribe.
Me neither. How has GP+ handled advertising before?
last page. it's not an advert. one sec.
I think i would need to buy a business class ticket on emirates to get to whee he will be, so unfortunately not.
I will write "we demand answers joe" on a pice of paper on the roof though so he will clearly get the message. (unless it is night)
here ya go: http://sidepodcast.posterous.com/in-association-with-who
sounds like maybe a little too much effort...
especially when theres a whole bunch of him seeing him in less than 48 hours :)
DOES. NOT. COMPUTE
eheheh.
wow
and by the first him I mean us :D
Maybe Joe has clones...?
I must say I was seriously thinking of subscribering this year - but I'm not sure now after seeing that.
Same
the only thing i can think is that motorsport.com are planning to ditch gmm for joe. but you'd think that would happen before he started plugging it?
Also there was the Red Bull/Infiniti saga, and the DT article in Lotus Magazine. I must admit all of these have me worried.
That might tie in with their recent site redesign.
someone has clearly put a lot of money into the site of the winter.
*over the winter.
I'm not sure I like that design though
it's an improvement over the last one, but i can't read white text on a dark background.
Picked up a cold, I don't want a cold on my day off. Have successfully wrestled with the duvet cover though.
I just looked at Joe's new redesigned blog. Is that the King's Speech version of a title, "J-Joe"?
I can't really read it, and I don't like it on first glance.
*Kind of here, not really, should be working, may have to dash at any moment.
And I do appreciate the info about Joe's latest activities so I can know more about the affiliations of sources, as I know very little about all that stuff and I want the best unbiased info.
Pat
I just realised that TK's sponsorship for KV is with Paul Tracy's former partner's - Geico. Ouch for PT, but he has been making such a twit of himself on Twitter
it's also twitter's birthday today, although they started a year before us :)
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/digitaltv/news/a310097/twitter-celebrates-fifth-anniversary.html
He's old and past it anyway isn't he?
I thought the deal dated to early 2008 (i.e. well before Mike left). Which still leaves me mystified as to why any additional deal in late 2008 (the time Mike left Force India) would have been signed with him, considering that it is Mallya and Kolles who controlled contracts at that point (possibly aided by the HR department). How this was ever meant to work confuses me.
yeah, but he still has a lot of fans and gains some attention for being controversial - it's all very very sad
That bit makes total sense. Given that it's already been said di Resta got his seat in exchange for a discount on Mercedes' side, it would make sense that when an obstacle to di Resta's appointment was found afterwards, that Mercedes would pay for it to be "moved" - and it would also explain why it took an age for the deal to be announced.
There's a difference between having clearly-demarcated adverts in the publication and having effectively advertorial (and unmarked advertorial at that) in the news.
Considering Autosport also have a sponsorship deal with Air Asia for their season preview, I don't think Air Asia are bothering to analyse content before making the deals.
That's just made me make my mind up not to subscribe to GP+ even if I get a steady job :(
And I can't read the font Joe is using for the fancy stuff...
Get well soon!
which font?
I'm not subscribing this year either.
The one he's using for the logo and what looks like the "l r n reverse-r d prl flag" on the back page.
Hiya guys.
What? That's really disappointing, a lot of fans will be put off by that affiliation. Was thinking of subscribing for the first time but I find Motorsport.com a non-family-friendly word for a source.
I shall instead say Boo instead of Boo-urns.
at the risk of ruining 4 years of work and publicly appearing as 'the sensible one' in the sidepodcast comments...
i'm just putting the question out there and waiting to see what amy&co dig up tomorrow.
if joe has somehow managed to pull the biggest user of gmm away from gmm, then he'll all be your hero tomorrow.
if not then fair enough, that's a good reason not to subscribe.
Has anyone commented on Joe's site about it yet?
Interesting train of thought, never looked at it like that. Definitely a strange one though for someone as well informed as Joe.
But how does that explain the timing?
it says grandprix+ alia.
I'm not subscribing because I just don't feel it this year.
i tweeted.
He doesn't use twitter for anything other than broadcasting though does he?
dunno, i can comment the same question, but was waiting for him to put up a 'season preview is done' type thread.
This is the closest you will get: http://joesaward.wordpress.com/2011/03/21/focus-moves-to-the-high-court/
This is more "straw that broke the camel's back" than the one and only reason - the heading font is another, as is the steadily-increasing irrationality in the blog entries (particularly in what looks like a bad attitude towards his readers).
And motorsport.com still appear to be cribbing other people's work, even replicating incorrect capitalisation. The only difference I can see is "commentary" sections which, to be fair, are at least original work (not cribbed from Joe, GMM or anyone else).
ah-ha, had missed that.
Difficult to tell - for all I know 100 people could have commented and not been put through moderation.
you're not subscribing to a magazine because you don't approve of a typeface used in a logo?
OK. I just don't like the idea of subscribing to something and then having to ask someone else to read it for me.
Because it's a post summarising what is really a few small stories.
If I can't read it, it defeats the point of using it.
You are complaining about someone being influenced by fonts?
commented.
but... it's... just... a... logo.
ahh well, if it makes you happy.
:)
i'm trying to think of a logo that annoys me that much. USF1 i guess :)
hooooray they're coming to visit :D http://yfrog.com/h39aperj
They're on their way to see you!
Also Heikki may do a race at some point
I knew it.
while he's here I guess he might as well.
I bet they have nicer seats on that flight than I will have on my Air Asia one :D
I couldn't tell that looking at it - it looked like it was meant to be a heading. When the font interferes in determining whether what is written is significant or not, it surely has to qualify as unreadable (at least to the person whose determination is being so interfered).
Turn up for your flight in your Lotus gear and you may get an upgrade
*throws new sidepodlogo in the bin*
#onlyjoking
I should hand over a photo of me with Tony when I check in 'yeah I know your CEO, we're BFFs'
And no, writers making their writing inaccessible does not make me happy. It makes me furious. The internet partially became popular because it made stuff accessible and I don't like to see people going the other way for no apparent reason.
:D
If you make it clear from the positioning that the logo is a logo, then it can be as incomprehensible as it likes. The worst that could happen is mild bemusement.
It's when you put the logo in a place where a heading (or other content that might be expected to need to be readable) might be expected that the proper problems occur.
surely the mcdonalds 'm' doesn't make you furious?
http://www.dvp.co.uk/dvp2010/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/mcdonalds-logo.jpg
or the nike tick?
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_7yB-eeGviiI/TP1LWEhlwaI/AAAAAAAADNE/EtGG13M299w/s1600/nikelogo2.jpg
That's funny :D
i see. it's just a logo.
i really like it.
The McDonald's "M" is a logo and always positioned as such. The Nike tick doesn't even look like a letter and is therefore processed as a picture.
is it not possible to work out it's a logo based on the 'your next ...... will be published from melbourne on march 28' around it? Gather meaning from context?
it looks better in blue though: http://joesaward.files.wordpress.com/2011/03/screen-shot-2011-03-18-at-03-06-151.png?w=175&h=190
Whenever I've met that sentence before, the "....." has always been normal text.
I assumed I was reading Dentist Appointment magazine
:D
Car is clean :)
Goodie :)
Oh that's what PT meant with the daggers then. I thought those two were friends. And yeah, he has.
Aye - I foresee aggro between Vasser and Tracy
I'm waiting to see what happens before deciding anything but that'll be great if true.
Ah that's already happened I think
may build further
Mr C, could you stop causing controversies wherever you go and start coding, please.
oops.
That man is the Charlie Sheen of the racing world!
Sad, pathetic and humourless?
and "duh" not "winning" ?
:D
"sometimes having wrong story is better to have no story" begins to make sense ?
Unfortunately I had to learn about that "Motorsport.com" association the hard way, after paying my 2011 subscription and downloading the magazine...
The preview issue is not too bad although for those reading the blog regularly it may feel like a bit of a collection of recycled although expanded recent blog entries.
But he then said he was different from GMM because he got the wrong story from inside the paddock (and some stories could not be verified) whilst GMM just copy other people's work?
Versus (NBC) announces their IndyCar TV lineup: http://www.indycar.com/news/show/55-izod-indycar-series/41830-versus-expands-broadcast-lineup-coverage/
Commentary: Bob Jenkins, Jon Beekhuis, and former CART chief steward Wally Dallenbach Jr.
Pits: Lindy Thackston, Kevin Lee, Marty Snider.
That means Jack Arute, Robbie Floyd and Robbie Buhl are out.
He's still a mentalist.
David Coulthard on Sebastian Vettel: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/motorsport/formula_one/9401009.stm
Floyd just tweeted to say he may be filling in for Snider for four races.
I watched Lewis and Jenson with Jake and EJ on the BBC site last night and forgot to link it. Worth a watch
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/f1_videos/9426773.stm
Cavin says the Tracy news is out within 15 minutes. I'm going to cook soup
Win: Jenkins, Beekus, Dallenbach Jr, LindyCar and Kevin
Don't know Snider. Won't miss Arute or Buhl, but will miss floyd
Eyes on the Indianapolis Star
Agreed.
Agreed again. I'm sure I've heard the name Snider somewhere but no idea where.
To be fair, no one can ever fault LindyCar
;)
I'm certain Arute has other projects - his contract is solely with Versus, so I'd say he's on other shows.
Legard is doing the radio commentary for the boat race this weekend: http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pressreleases/stories/2011/03_march/21/boatrace.shtml
"Look at that! What's that over there? I'm sure I saw water on the boat!!!"
HD - yay!!
Legard - ohhhhh.
On the radio, not the TV.
Mm, I reckon just being associated with it might drag it all down :)
:)
Oh that's good
Andrew Cotter for TV, great choice
IndyCar:
Bourdais / James Jakes in at Coyne and Saavedra confirmed for Conquest
http://blogs.indystar.com/racingexpert/2011/03/21/coyne-conquest-finalize-st-pete-plans/
That means that sadly Bertrand Baguette Alex Lloyd are out
Tracy in a 3rd Dreyer & Reinbold entry for the Indy 500 only.

I think we need a hashtag like the #nopolitics one but for mrc...
Maybe #ignoremrcheshouldbecoding ?
Wow - in the space of a week, Tracy's gone from working on a full season deal to only securing the Indy 500. Ouch, but he's really made a fool of himself in public recently. If I were a potential sponsor, I'd walk.
I just walked past a new collegue in the office that I don't know very well he was looking at the F1 page on the BBC website...
He just posted this :)
@MrAndrewCotter
Some people are unaware that The Thames is tidal. http://twitvid.com/CC3TE
I like it!
Yeah me too especially if Kanaan was asking.
bring a friend to SPC candidate #.....what would that be for you?
Watched this last night - good on her says I
http://sports.espn.go.com/rpm/nascar/nationwide/news/story?id=6239759&campaign=rss&source=RPMHeadlines
An orange Pirelli
http://twitpic.com/4bub9p
What is the thing diagonally opposite the valve? Never seen that before
Great to see a driver who would rather walk than start and park. Followed her on twitter to show support
https://twitter.com/jenjocobb
Ah I wondered what the tweets were about during the race.
That's class.
Lotus notes is out for Australia: http://www.teamlotus.co.uk/notes//issue2australia/pageflip.html
Love the local phrases :)
I see Petri - Heikki's physio - is in there even though he split with the team
Didn't Jarno Trulli's race engineer leave also?
Don't know. Amy doesn't keep me informed about that side of the garage
No point - he's too grumpy to care!
So I called someone out for whinging about Tony Fernandes' ... whinging, saying that he should tweet it to him instead. Apparently he has!
Ping: http://mrschristine.com/2011/03/21/apple-currys-favour/
Hehehe. We'll struggle to find someone to blog about Trulli monthly :)
Ooh.
The Tony (Soprano) Fernandes hits back:
Amazing how greed corrupts and turns people into monsters. So damm determined to remain team lotus. Never been so determined. The good will always win. I am so looking forward to go racing and I'm going to enjoy every minute of it.

Never said it but after all we have been subjected to we deserve to be team lotus. I am so proud of each and every team member for the honesty the hard work and the amazing p#!@%*#ion they have put into this team in one year.
http://tmi.me/7Wy01
err... punctuation?
That's the tweets the guy I mentioned earlier is gonna respond to.
has me thinking too.
Pollenation?
Putting the question mark into Team Lotus
I think he was going for passion?
Thats not the easiest thing to key in on a phone though
His random symbols i mean, might be a glitch?
there's only two boats, surely he can't get them mixed up?
Its a lot easier than p(*&^%&%$££$^%&*((*&^%%£%£$%ion! ;)
Really, subjected to what? All I've seen is another company called Lotus coming into F1...
Not saying any more.
Hi people.
Well, both teams are in blue ;)
Hello all
Hi Janna and RG
*waves* How was Farnham?
Had a really lovely time thank you :)
Never fun to have to leave though.
:(
Do you have an interview this week? Need to know when to think positive
Yeah positivity is goooooooood. :)
Found a pretty good placement this week I'm applying for now and spent some time today spreading out CV's around shops today and will do tomorrow. Plus there's f1 this weekend finally! Woohoo!!
Yay!
Best of Luck!
I had one today... not sure if that makes it too late for positive vibes
Not at all.
no rejection email yet, so I guess it could help
Talking of positivity, is anyone up for taking on the positive preview for Australia? Didn't get too many volunteers so perhaps it is not such a good idea after all.
It's a fantastic idea. When does it need to be written by?
To go up on Thursday, I reckon.
If nobody else does, I will. Thought one of the SidepodAussies would be keen though?
Absolutely. It would be right up positive Jeremy's street :)
Curry O'Clock!
You're an extralife listener, @rubbergoat?
Firefox 4 is AMAZING!
That is all. :D

sometimes...
Hiii :)
Evening alison, how are you?
I'm alright. Heading to Leicester after work tomorrow for a couple of days :)
Evening all
Applied for my US Visa Waiver thing today. The Immigration dept are still asking applicants if they've been involved in moral turpitude. Makes me laugh every time, did they write this in the 50s?
We don't like your kind.
I think moral turpitude includes making fun of the immigration rules
:D
Ping - TMRG Results
http://toomuchracing.com/2011/03/21/tmr-game-2011-week-9/
Hahaha oh dear.
Have been reading this article this evening and it pretty much sums up how greedy the gaming industry can be regarding this new wave of independent titles on iOS and even stuff like Minecraft developed by one person. It's quite sad to see how single minded Nintendo can be with this kind of stuff, seems they're happy to ignore the booming business of the iOS market...
Possibly. Too late, they already gave me the all clear.
Fools :)
If they keep their eyes closed and sing La La La then maybe the DS won't be doomed after all
Vintage Ping: The 1.5 Litre Era http://www.vivaf1.com/blog/?p=5912
You did read the caveat about the US Borders & Customs still being able to turn you away once they meet you in person?
The new 3DS is released this week and I'm sure it'll be filled with loads of shovelware just like the Wii and DS are. Both are good systems but it's incredibly hypocritical to act like the iOS platform is just flooded with nonsense apps when your own systems have more shovelware than A+ titles - I mean, the amount of My babies, Petz, Board Games etc games I've seen on shelves in shops is just a retail equivalent of the iTunes store having loads of random apps.
Can understand if they're protecting their own system to a degree but what harm has led to iOS being very much open in this aspect?
tactics I think... I hate predicting Oz GP
Yeah. They like to make you work for it, right up until they give you that stamp
Incredible. This is the greed that is ruining the art of video games - iOS games reflect the pioneer spirit the gaming industry used to have...
A nice bit of unpredictability to start the season.
almost tempted to go with the sergio perez victory
Really do think that DS could have a solid indie scene with downloadable titles with a partner like Nintendo supporting it. You find nowadays the best innovation as you say Gavin is coming from such iOS games in some of the ideas being produced.
To be fair Microsoft actively support independent games and have a marketplace dedicated to cheap downloadable games on the 360 in the same way iTunes Store does, and I've bought a few fantastic games on there over the years you simply wouldn't see from big name developers with a huge budget. Money =/= ideas.
Like these 17 year old students from Dublin
I do like studio games, but I like indie and downloadable games too as they add a nice variety.
Yeah it does look quite good.
BTW Lukeh, thanks for your recommendations - Mrs. Goat loves Movie cats and Land a Panda ;)
I think that's why the iOS platform is so appealing. Developers and independent offerings are there for all to choose from.
i hear what you're saying about ios, and it's nice to let people compete. however, small startup games companies only have maybe anther 12 months to get established before the cost of handheld development skyrockets.
at the moment, restricted graphics means you or i could make a semi-decent iphone game. one or maybe two more chip updates and you'll need a team of 3-5 and then a whole office floor.
nintendo know where tech is going and soon one person will be too small to make a difference i reckon.
as an aside, the internets are heading in a similar direction. a decade from now and i don't think one person could design a web site on their own. once we get 3d apis and you can build immersive experiences, you'll need staffing levels of a magazine.
maybe.
It's a fair point. I just think it's a little bit dismissive of nintendo to simply push aside that kind of developer in such a way I suppose when some of the best ideas can come from so called garage developers.
Oh wow, Rubens is stuck in Argentina! http://twitter.com/#!/rubarrichello/status/49929561726660608
I have offered him a piggy back ride. Waiting to hear back. *twiddles thumbs*
Whatever happened to his private plane I wonder? Maybe it's still at home, or Jenson never gave it back :)
I suggested he tried racing his car there like in the awful Michel Vaillante movie...
For info: Mac OS Snow Leopard just got a point update to 10.6.7
[probably the last before Lion]
Amusing story of a forced return of new purchase:
One iPad came back with a post it note on it that said "Wife said no." It was escalated as something funny, and two of the VPs got wind of it. They sent the guy an iPad 2 with a note on it that said "Apple said yes."
From Macrumors
i think they realised the value too late and now there's no point creating sdk's and building a community around it, so are pretending is was never a good idea in the first place.
Mrs. Goat has just discovered Dilbert and likes it!
I approve :)
downloading. ta.
:D
Wonder if the wife still said no?
That's sad. Why doesn't Sao Paulo do a direct flight to Australia?
Anyone here have any experience with Jolicloud?

Why does the JobCentre application form have no text boxes in its PDF file? Don't they realise some people like to apply online for stuff?
#notverymfc
Why don't you do the online form?
The vacancy specifically says it will only accept the PDF version.
I've just been handed a Sherbet fountain and a packet of black jacks... it's like being 10 again! :-)
Yum :D
#notverymfc
It's all about Fruit Salads!
Mrs M kept them to herself
I prefer the black jacks anyway
That was the sweets rivalry back in the day for me, whether you went for fruit salads or had a crazy black tongue from the evil black jacks :)
I remember going to the corner shop on the way home and buying boxes of mini fruit gobstoppers and various sweets from glass jars :)
hey, my tongue is NOT going black!
#fakeretrosweets
I remember me and my friend clutching a pound coin each and going to the shops, planning to spend it all on penny sweets. We thought we were being wild! :)
:D
Reminds me when my mum once gave me 50p and not to spend it all at once. I bought five 10p mixes.
Did you ever ask how much they were?
50p was my budget but I was allowed that every school day as long as I'd been good. Occasionally I'd save up and buy myself a 55p cake slice or cream bun (and 45p of something else) - my first experience of saving.

good morning all, I am easing into work with some hot cross buns and Team Lotus Notes :)
Morning, how are your feet today?
Hi amy :)
I am wearing flip flops because they're the only shoes I own that leave my heels alone. booooo feet.
Awww.
Good morning! I'm applying for jobs - found 2 so far this evening, one of which could even be applied for online...
Sorry the feet are playing up.
I got all worky outy with Jillian Michaels instead. She yells a lot.
Evening! :) I have a cookie monster cupcake and some milk. early nights are awesome :)
Those cookie monster cupcakes looked awesome!
Hi Lou.
Cookie Monster Cupcakes sound fab
my friend made some. they are so nice! http://twitpic.com/4bud0m
They look fabulous
They look amazing :D
A cupcake AND a cookie? Wow!
Awesome.
i KNOW! she turned up at my flat with them for us all as a treat while we did a shoot earlier. :)
Button's Bathurst run will take place shortly. It isn't online but @elephino_ is there.
#sidepodspace
Two students from the University of Sheffield have managed to take some photos from the edge of space with a budget for materials of £350.
What will really interest you is that the makers managed to figure out which town they needed to launch from to give the maximum chance of landing in a rural area. NASA take note.
Hope he (and everyone watching) has lots of fun!
Button? as in Jenson?
Yes.
wait. what have i missed? he's doing a run? like in the F1 car? *
*is so behind.. sorry!
mount panorama. should be awesome.
how have i missed this... this is a complete and awesome surprise. :)
Or in his trainers maybe
He's doing a car swap with a V8 Supercar driver
http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2011/03/22/3169963.htm?site=centralwest§ion=news&date=(none)
NASA needs them
It's quite common for people to send balloons to ridiculous altitudes and get amazing phots and video but £350 is very cheap
That is so cool! yaaay for Jenson! :)
Posted from the future, wow!! :D
http://www.supersport.com/motorsport/article.aspx?Id=409801
Jenson talking about the track
"When I was younger, the BBC would always broadcast the Bathurst race, and it was one of those things you'd just switch over and catch, and just be hooked, because the circuit just looked so intense. "
they did??
Yes. That is where I first saw it. They didn't do the whole race but a bit live then highlights. It was like NASA compared to the normal coverage we had. Remote control cameras in the cars and commentators talking to drivers while they were racing.
Looked everywhere I can think of and can't find a stream from Bathurst. It is a Vodafone event so there must be video
A sponsor event surely wouldn't be live.
Probably not but nowadays you never know.
according to the airport Heikki's flight successfully landed 18 minutes ago. Hooray!
Single day seats for Sunday have all sold out, and the mayor who hates the GP has decided he will turn up afterall. On a free ticket no doubt.
http://www.theage.com.au/sport/motorsport/grand-prix-on-the-comeback-trail-20110321-1c3u3.html
Please boo him.
I don't know what he looks like :D
I will be booing many people, and I've already started mentally preparing myself to deal with this one loud woman who is always at the paddock entrance and at the front of the autograph queue.
Lord Mayor Robert Doyle
far too generic Australian middle aged man, I will not remember that face.
I'm also trying to drill into my brain what all the new drivers look like so I can recognise everyone when they arrive. I'm not yet completely down with my Perezs and my Maldonados.
Looks like a corporate version of Meatloaf
Well that's easy to remember :)
Hahahahaha
I don't know how to decidddde about my universitiessss. Also my mother has decided to come to Leicester with me tomorrow....Hmmmm.
:D
I thought you were going to Southampton?
'No' is probably a wise answer
I feel like I should look at the other places properly. I might like them better. I'm really paranoid about making the wrong decision.
How many are on the short list?
More than 3 and you're in trouble
I just watched the balloon that the two students launched to 37000 metres that Alianora posted earlier. It is amazing they are allowed to do that. Imagine their box of electronics getting sucked into a jet engine.
I assume they need some kind of permission to do that like logging an estimated flight plan. I have seen so many of those and this is the first time that has occurred to me
3 :D
That isn't more than 3 :P
Look at all of them then make your decision.
And leave Mother at home ;)
I thought there were 4
Yeah, they've all come through now so I have to decide by 6th May. I'm off to Leicester tomorrow and Cardiff on the 30th, hopefully I can decide then and be happy it's the right thing.
I struck one off the list. Progress!
Probably. They're PhD students, so it'll probably all be in the accompanying thesis when they get around to writing it.
ooh an email from fanvision, they must have read my mind, i was thinking last night that i needed to hear from them.
Now I know how to collect my G3 on Thursday! Eeeek how will I sleep on Wednesday night, I love new gadgets.
Well done. WHich one?
Lancaster. Mainly on the grounds of location.
If you haven't looked at them yet, slightly confused what the fuss is?
Oooh!
I'm going to play spot the G3 this weekend because I really have no idea how many people would think its worth buying one. My guess is not too many.
New gadgets are the best :)
That will be interesting. Like G3 bingo. You'll have to report back.
You, Pamela and err......... that's it :)
they should pay us for giving them such promotion
Good idea, blog about Melbourne and send them the link
they recognised my name in Singapore, I'm already half way there :D
Too close to your mother?
Am trying to buy a USA pre-paid SIM from AT&T for my MiFi unit
Is a near impossible task
Think T-mobile will be getting my money instead when I arrive
they probably would of, but you'd have to give it back again.
I'm going to buy a TuneTalk SIM for when I'm in Malaysia. There I go, giving Tony even more money :D But they sell them on Air Asia flights! So convenient! And data is only 1.6 Australian cents per megabyte so I can comment and tweet aaaaall weekend.
It's been so fun trying, though! :)
nooooo giving things back is :( I shall stick with not doing any promo and spending hundreds of dollars :)
#same
http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2011/mar/21/atandt-t-mobile-merger-us
AT&T need those towers, badly.
I wonder how much the race activation fee will be next year, I see for the football one it's $5 per game, if it's $5 per race that'd be super excellently cheap.
So you buy the device and you still have to pay a bit extra?
yeah the cost only includes the first years usage, which would be excellent if I was doing more races. hmm. Wheres that budget.
Hah yes! It's just not right.
I can't think what I need to look at tomorrow. Might settle for wandering round and hoping I can just decide.
I can't believe it is 11.30pm already
Nothing will change for at least 12 months if the deal is approved
I bet
I think they just assume the customer will cave and buy a new smart phone and a 2 year plan
Yeah, it's being appealed because it would essentially make Verizon a very, very tiny little #3, and uncompetitive.
It's all about control and not giving us what we need, or at least that's my experience with them over the years, and I have them for DSL and phone.
If AT&T and T-Mobile become one [eventually], wouldn't that make Verizon a small 2nd?
picky! Whatever, yes, technically, but they would be 0 in all practical purposes.
Now they are a competitive #3
They could buy Sprint
Personally I don't care, as long as my phone works. I could use some cheaper rates, but if AT&T will eventually get even bigger, then that's unlikely. I guess I always remember their anti-trust case against them years and years ago. I'm suspicious of them.
I suppose they are nicknamed The Death Star for nothing
I could use this right now
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sv5iEK-IEzw
oh oops! Not family friendly, a bit sweary. Boo me. I should just go to bed. :(
"oh, you're Mr. Stevens?" hehehe
"and this one's wet, and this one's wet"
Speaking of which, I love this graphic
I love that sketch

That reminds me I still have to listen to the latest one with Dario Franchitti
priorities. you should be listening to them 1st!
crofty says jonny herbert is the f1 driver steward this race. not sure if that was known?
Not to me it wasn't.
News to me
It's an early night for me, see you later.
G'night Kai
Good night
Have a good night.
Tickets must be selling well, the Piquet grandstand is back! We haven't had that one since 2008. I'm confused as to where it is though because the sheet says turn 3 but the red dot showing where it is is at turn 13. The old Piquet stand used to be at turn 14.
crofty mentioned ant will be in the studio in london for the race. w00t!
Sounds like a typo
points for lewis:
If any of you are in downtown Melbourne on Wednesday morning, come join me for a training run @ 11:00 starting at South Wharf with @Reebok
Amazin!
Didn't he do that last year in Melbourne?
Or was that Heikki?
I remember one driver tweeting to find out where to go running.
I guess Lewis is looking to get some good publicity rather than have people re-hashing last year's little incident
If it was Heikki, it would have been in 2009 - though I can entirely believe that Lewis did this last year. Has this been going on for 2 years or 3?
i remember no incident.
#everyyearisanewadventure
Ooooh I do remember that. I don't think it was an invite. More a request for a route.
yay!
I do. Something to do with "hooning"...
We need Amy. It is her job to know this stuff
Hooning :)
we have amy, the key is not to lose amy. maybe we should tag her?
there was a question but no pr invite. I'd go along to watch not to run but I'll be at work
All you have to do is know where Heikki is
it's like a real life "find my iphone" :)
i don't even know what hotel Heikki is in! Assume Crown though as he was last year. Mclaren usually stay there but based on thefifthdrivers tweet they are in the new southwharf Hilton this year. Lewis is probably still at Crown though.
Find My Commenter :)
yes!
He is running at southwharf
it's a good open place to run. He night be at the Hilton but it's not as flash as crown.
What?! I thought this was the whole idea of the running thing. Surely it's not for exercise?
P.S. I would go running, but I will be in my car on the way to Melbourne. Maybe they would wait until about 4pm.
eeek. I'm writing PERL script. My mind just isn't on this......
Please don't run anyone over with your car while at the running/PR thing. It's considered "Bad Form" in some circles.
especially in Melbourne, although I'm sure they will need some sort of "Hoon" story again.
hehe i mean last year
o i c
ooh paul while you're here, where are you sitting this weekend? i've forgotten what tickets you ended up with.
We ended up having to sit in the Bradmabn stand. This was the only one left with Advantage tickets.
#badplanning
and as long as I don't miss the 5.05pm tram tomorrow, Metlink estimates my time of arrival at the restaurant as 5.35pm.
I've heard good things about the Brabham stand, you'll be right :)
Sorry if it's a repost. Final Space Shuttle Mission from The Boston Big Picture
http://b.globe.com/gIfg2u
That should read Brabham . Inside turn 1.
Hope so. I really wanted the 4-stand thing for my brother and his wife to get the whole experience. Still, we will get to walk around.
Two more shuttle missions to go
It is a repost but worth it if people missed it
I'd recommend watching practices on Friday from a couple of different GA spots then, because it's Friday they won't be too busy and crammed with people. The one by the Clarke stand and the one by the Waite stand are where me and my brother went on Friday the year we had tickets for the same stand all weekend.
It's weird how many people are confused about that.
Your telling me!
What did we watch a few weeks ago?
Yep, good advice. I might be sounding a bit too organised. They are already surprised about being booked in for breakfast etc. :-)
#blamenasa
They kept saying it was the last mission for Discovery but kept highlighting last mission.
Next one is mid April
Was Discovery the first one up? Is that why it's important?
Oh ok
How many last missions will there be in total? :)
Wow: Button has apparently lapped Mt Panorama at Bathurst in 1:48 in the 2009 McLaren. Can't wait to see the footage.
And there was me thinking it was a truly historic moment
is it just your brother you're coming with or is your crew larger?
Nope. The first one believe it or not was called Enterprise. Discovery flew more missions and more miles than any other shuttle and it was the first one to be retired
Him and his wife.
That sounds scary
Ah ha. 365 days in space or something. Gotcha.
It was. Just not as historic as you thought
sounds awesome. i can't imagine going down the dipper - that is almost too steep to walk down
That's it and something like 135 million miles
excellent. Is it just you coming to dinner/Joe tomorrow? If I'm the first to arrive I wanna make sure I get the right sized table :)
People will remember the last ever mission, not the last of a particular shuttle
just me tomorrow. they are flying in later in the evening.
Massive campaign by trekkies wasn't there?
woot! I will try my hardest to not miss my tram.
i might end up walking there. Google tells me it is 5.2km.
Absolutely
I think so
get the tram, seriously :D if you time it right you could even get the same one i'll be on.
I shall be in touch then,
if you're staying on Commercial Road get the number 72 (Melbourne University) tram and get off at Stop 14 - Arts Precinct. Then change onto the #1 towards South Melbourne Beach, the tram I'll be on is scheduled to be at Stop 14 at 5.18pm. :)
Right, thanks!
*makes notes on iphone*
do you still have the same phone number you were using when you were here last year? If so I can text you if you need help :)
20 seconds faster than the V8 lap record
yep, same number.
Have I mentioned you should be a travel agent?
It was the last mission for that shuttle, quite important
Yup. even faster than expected I think
Amazing given how that is not a flat track where aero grip will work to the max

thatd be nice.
Looks like SPEED TV had a helicopter chasing, so there should be decent video in a while.
Can't wait to see the full lap
I want to see the onboard and the footage the helicopter shot
I hope they release the full lap onboard rather than clips.
Need to sleep, back to work tomorrow.. Bye
I'm sure it will leak out from SPEED. aparently they were showing it live
If someone is planning on editing together the onboard and helicopter pictures could Amy get someone to kidnap the editor?
Night Pat
is this old news?
Team Lotus has today finalised its 2011 driver line-up with confirmation that Karun Chandhok is the team's Reserve Driver, joining Race Drivers Heikki Kovalainen and Jarno Trulli, Third Driver Luiz Razia and Test Drivers Davide Valsecchi and Ricardo Teixeira in the Anglo / Malaysian team's stable of driving talent.
http://www.teamlotus.co.uk/news/2011/karun-chandhok-joins-team-lotus-as-reserve-driver
they seem to be rivalling renault for spare drivers.
also, my maths sucks, but i make luiz razia the fourth driver, no?
I think 10 teams could leave and Renault & Lotus could probably fill the grid now
true story
Just listened to Dario Franchitti on the Motorsport podcast and I will definitely re-listen to it. I could listen to him talk racing all day.
http://www.motorsportmagazine.co.uk/2011/03/18/marchs-audio-podcast-with-dario-franchitti/
It is and it isn't. I don't think they announced it but it all kind of leaked out.
He is third. Just not reserve. In Lotus universe that makes sense
karun is 2.5?
Must be
and not just becuase he's scottish right? ;-)
No. Because he is knowledgeable and can put it across. And he is not afraid to say what he is thinking.
hehe. just kidding. yeah I think Dario is one of the more knowledgable drivers going around.
Hmmm Lowndes did a 1:49.5 at Bathurst in the McLaren. not bad for a taxi driver, although Button said he could probably do a 1:40 if he was pushing.
Button went round 1.5 seconds faster than someone who had never sat inan F1 car. Disappointing
sounds like he wasn't pushing, and I think it takes time to learn that circuit. Lowndes did do a season of F3000 as Montoya's team mate.
Can't imagine he was on the limit, 3 days before FP1
There was a tweet earlier saying Button's time was 1:46
8 seconds off the pace he thinks he could do takes so little effort you would not believe it. They should have put Lewis in the car at least he would have made an effort.
A season in F3000 10 years ago is hardly preparation for an F1car on a track like that. He should not have been able to get within ten seconds of Jenson
haha, yeah i think you might be right about Lewis. Mayeb that's why they didnt choose him!
:(
I can't sleep. So tempted to ring in sick for work.
He was just playing at that speed.
When I was doing a test day in FFord I was doing laps of Oulton Park in about 1:40 getting to know the track. I decided to do a really slow lap and I felt like I stopped and looked at each corner. Fast down the straights but braking early and taking it really slow through the corners. It felt like walking pace and the difference between giving it everything I had and walking pace was 2 seconds a lap or 2%.
8 seconds off what he thinks he can do means it ain't worth the time to watch the video
That did occur to me when I first heard about that
What time does your shift start?
You look ill to me. Best have the day off
7
Hmm
Not looking good, if you don't have any recent sick history, set your alarm for 6:45 and take a duvet day
yay!
I mean, yes you don't look good to me either.
I feel too guilty. I'm supposed to see my area manager in the morning. Tres annoying. I might get up and go in and see if someone can come in for 8 or something so I can go home.
If you're gonna make it in, that's half the battle
Might as well stay and get paid
surely with Heikki and Karun together Team Lotus are a sure thing for the F1 World Championship for Nicest Team?
I am sick and I can't sleep. So if you can't sleep... I'm going to assume you're sick too.
I'm a manager I can sign sick notes :)
True story. This is why I don't do sick days. Just think of the money eh...
No contest. Unless they both get stuck playing golf
They will be hard to beat
Hehehe I am sick. I have a bad cough that comes on whenever I lie down. BOOOOO!!
me too. Thats two of us.
Three
maybe my fued with Jarno will intensify so much this year that he will bring down the team average.
I feel like I should get something for him to sign this year so I don't snub him two years in a row but really, I just want Heikki to sign my Heikki Lotus Racing cap.
Can you get Jarno a transfer to the other Lotus to sign then Karun can have his drive
it might avoid the angry looks you got last year
ha! brilliant!
For the sick non-sleepers, the following trailers will pass away the time
Puss In Boots
Kung Fu Panda 2
Cars 2
Rango
not sure thats something I can manage :(
oh how I wish I'd seen his face! I'm pleased you lot were there to witness :D
I might just get him to do a token sign of his face in the programme, call it a truce if you will.
Why ruin the the program?
odds are i'll never open it again, it's ok :)
I started watching pointless :D
This is getting silly considering how little seat time these boys are going to get.
Can't wait for the full footage of Button and Lowndes around Bathurst later today.
As for CL's open wheeled experience, with hindsight I bet he wishes he did British F3 rather than jump into the den with Dr Marko, JPM and the F3000's kids...
I have also realised that I was confused and I don't have this Sunday off at all to watch the F1 :( I have next Sunday off instead.
Too late to request a later start?
Yeah much too late. Unless I can get someone to cover for a few hours in the morning although I'm not sure why anyone would volunteer to get up at 6am on a Sunday to go to work :P
to miss church?
#showingmyage
:D
We work with only 2 staff first thing in the morning so I really don't have a lot of flexibility with starting later any morning.
From experience, even 2 hours sleep is better than none
Good plan. Might go lie down and listen to the radio or something. If I can hear the radio over the coughing that'd be an improvement at the moment.
I went to work on 4 for most of last week and both days so far this week. It sucks.
Usually, a couple of bad nights and I'll have a really early night and attempt a reset
5 or so is average when I'm on earlies
I am planning a nap tonight because I certainly won't be sleeping in this weekend :)
Morning.
Apparently, thanks to Giggles Radio, I seem to have found out that I am a closet Eurythmics fan.... Even to the point that I just realized that I have their album Savage, which does not have a single hit in it!.....
You can win the chance to be the first fan to wave the chequered flag and contest entry costs are going to charity.
Whether that means first fan ever or first fan in Australia, I do not know

I don't think it's something I'd like to do. Too much pressure!
I liked Savage!
I was a huge fan, got to see Annie live in her prime.
Sigh..........
