We're into the third week of baking already, and down two bakers from our original thirteen. This week, it's all about indulging the sweet tooth with desserts being the focus of the Bake Off tent. I know there will be trifle, but what else? Here's the BBC's blurb: "Mary and Paul are upping the ante. Having survived cake and bread, this is the first week we see the bakers having to multi-task across several different baking skills at the same time."
The Great British Bake Off - Desserts

Evening
I'm here! Editing again. Gotta get my Sidepodchores done before being allowed to watch the baking :)
Tonight is the most important part of banking - desserts. Nom nom nom
....it's also very much important in baking too
Hehe :)
How's your arm Mr Lukeh?
It's OK thanks, it's feeling oh so much better without the cast. I volunteered today for a boat race for charity in work today so I'm glad ir's feeling a lot better, have little wrist physio exercises from the doctor to keep away any aches and pains!
Oxford or Cambridge?
The one with the pirates
Ooh, Captain Jack!
Evening all :)
Ironically in Cardiff Bay where Torchwood is. Wrong Jack but same name :)
Hi Will
I'm again looking forward to feeling very hungry for the rest of the evening.
Wait till Mr C sees the trifles!q
Not that he would dare comment on a baking show of course! ;)
Noo, a thread for baking? Silly idea :)
It is a shame they are not going to be baking kit kats.
Google would never allow it ;)
That chocolate looks tasty...
i am not here and i am not commenting on a cooking show. just so we're clear on that.

Baking burglary?!
A baking burglary!
Someone has finally stolen the sausage rolls from Greggs and it wasn't me.
omg
desserts
stressed
....MIND = BLOWN
:)
How many trifle puns can they come up with?
I hope there aren't too many torte-tured ones.
how do non professionals have 'signature' dishes?
Because in most non professional cases they end up being a mess like a bad signature
Just ones that they have done many times before, and they think shows off their skills, not to mention takeing & looking damn good!
I thought Mel said ruby invented baking then
Lots of ginger in use today!
silly deborah, you put drink in a glass, not trifle!
howard has an excellently loud tshirt on tonight.
Is it wrong that sometimes they're saying "I'm making my own [jam/jelly/ladyfingers/etc]" and I think, I didn't even know you could make that.
"i was brought up on trifle"
#affinity
some of these don't look like trifle at all
his counter looks like christine's desk.
Paul really isn't good at instilling confidence in people
phew, just made it
"This is an ex-custard."
'THIS IS AN EX- Custard!'
*dies* so happy i made it for that!
two types of caramel!!!
howard is my favourite.
Her face!
macaron!!!!!!!!! hmmmmmm
I hate how tasty macaroons look and how I can never eat them.
what are they?
Ridiculous - macaroons on a trifle!
I don't think I've ever had one.
SHE STOLE HOWARDS CUSTARD.
THIEF!
WHAT
WHAAAAT! you MUST! (if you like almondy marzipan things)
one love, one custard.
bob missed that one.
howard got schumacher'd. Now I get why he;s the best
aww she's so sweet. she must feel so bad.
wow! i want a triffle like those...
The first time you ever use a blow torch, are you really going to do that live on TV?
i never saw schumacher try to make amends in my whole life.
if i can actually spell trifle that is.
yea she ruined the act quickly
Ruth annoys me.. so much. but i get this feeling she'll be doing very well...
omg. need.
that's no trifle, that's a tgi friday's cocktail
Mr C is salivating. I knew he'd like the trifles.
pina Colada!!!
Good work Christine
winner
Aww, it has a baby trifle
Double judging!
oh Ruth.. please believe in yourself. you're a good baker.
a trifle pioneer. truly a historic title to have
Yeah suddenly Jelly doesn't seem so nice
Isles flottant :)
I've enver even heard of Eel Flotant
yeah i only eat vegi jelly. :)
They're doing what in the what now?
Oh that sounds more appealing than my typing
Floating meringues :)
hmmmm i want someone to make that for me...
Ew, not sure I'm keen on this one.
They are lovely :D
Too much egg I think.
I like how they're all just copying each other in not knowing really what to do :)
Uh oh, howard is in danger
Howards 1st mix was far to sloppy :S
This looks so complicated
I liked it when they were doing trifles :)
Spun sugar is fun :)
It just looks like Seb's new toupee has fallen onto everyone's desert
They look soo melt in the mouth!
i really want to try it.
gregg wallace seems to consistently be at the top, he's good.
I feel like I'm not understanding many words they are saying anymore!
I feel like I'm going to have a mental breakdown on Ruby's behalf
oh her name is Ruby? or Ruth?..
Ruby
ahhh. I just want to give her a hug and tell her to believe in herself.. but at the same time she is so annoying!
Paul has it out for him tonight
oohh macarons are so the best
Lemonchello and ameretto?! hmmmmmmm
"I've lost my fluting" is definitely one of those with a middle-class problems hashtag.
:)
This is definitely a bit delicate for me. I'd smash 'em with me big ol hammer hands.
It's like baking for a dolls house.
emmm they all look so tasty! hmmm mini deserts :)
I hope they all eat these deserts they make. Otherwise I have a job I would like to talk to the BBC about.
Love that cone shape!!
There's a big crew behind the scenes who must get hungry watching the baking :)
Crofty looks worried.
they can have all the ones with nuts :)
wow!
Sigh of relief from ruby!
Uhoh
That was not a good look
If Mary Berry is struggling to find nice words, you have to worry.
mini macaroons, impressive
star baker, she must be
Hehehe.
Mel is getting all excited :)
:o
2!!
it's all gone apprenticey
"Deborah had huge potential but..."
She stole the custard!
howard's custard and everything.
Pies and tarts :) Hungry already
That's a cliffhanger!
Mmm pie.
Greetings all, doing some chores so technically not here....
Hey, If I can label double chocolate donuts so that they look like tyres from Pirelli, Goodyear or Bridgestone (Even with the green racing stripes) do you think it will be that hard to write my own signature? :P
Okay. I would rather hear you starring in a cooking show anyway, mr. C....
Always, especially over here on this side of the pond where people always steal the "dough".... :p
