Hello there, how are you? All good, I hope. It's Saturday, and that means it is qualifying day in Turkey. If you're watching, don't forget to join us in the comments, and if you use the very handy Dashboard you can get the Factbyte Factbox sewn right in!

If all of those words have confused you, it's probably worth having a quick peek at Giggle's guide to Sidepodcast. We've been plugging it all week but that's because it really is that good. A quick demonstration of how to get the best out of commenting here.

Also today, it's the 6 Hours of Spa, in which Franck is driving. His car is starting 50th though, after the team tried to be all tactical and not set a time until late. You can see where this is going, I'm sure. In other Franck news, he has a beard! It's very difficult blogging about Franck because he is so rarely in the news or on the internets in any way. I always get to the point where I'm thinking of giving up the blog and then something exciting like a beard happens.

What else have we been up to? Well, it seems as though Sidepodcast has gone fitness crazy. I've been running for a while, Amy is working on up to a 5k, Gavin has got back into running (around a turtle!), Pat's been playing golf and Lukeh has started swimming.

What are you up to and where are you blogging about it? And if you're not, why not start? It makes the experience a thousand times better when you can track it and share it and get encouragement from lovely people.

That will have to do for now, I'm afraid. Have a fantastic Saturday and I will see you in the comments.

If you can't catch fish you will never hook a spear

  • Nick07/05/2011 at 09:49

    Like... with an actual spear?

Its a 5ft spear with a thick rubber band on the end, you dive down, when you see a fish you open your hand and the spear pops forward about a foot

Here is a photo of said spear http://aquaviews.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/Polespear.jpg

There is a more dangerous version where you can use a gun that shoots the spear about 6-7ft

For anyone in the Daily there is a thread for the ILMC race. http://sidepodcast.com/post/live-ilmc-lms-1000km-of-spa-franchorchamps

There is also a GP2 race happening now, Eurosport coverage is delayed until after ILMC but there is a feed http://www.benavidestv.net/2009/07/fox-sports-en-vivo.html and apparently a big crash.

Red Bull flex wing conspiracy theory. Interesting

    mccabism.blogspot…-wing-cables.html

We discussed this yesterday. I don't think the cables look strong enough to flex the wing and any control would be obvious. THey look more like signal cables or something

  • tim07/05/2011 at 20:13

Question for you guys: Koby didn't register a time in Quali. Will he be allowed to race?

  • Bassano07/05/2011 at 20:13

On the first part, I tend to agree but I'd like to see HQ pics

    Signally for what, load sensors?

  • Steven Roy07/05/2011 at 20:13

I don't think he ever had much sponsorship. He had a really impressive junior career so he deserved an F1 chance

Question for you guys: Koby didn't register a time in Quali. Will he be allowed to race?

Yes. He did fast enough times in free practise to show he deserves to race

  • RG07/05/2011 at 20:14

Question for you guys: Koby didn't register a time in Quali. Will he be allowed to race?

Set good times in practice, got exemption. Probably from pit-lane.

Definitely would like to see better pics

    Signally for what, load sensors?

To monitor the flex on the wing for example. Just a guess based on nothing very much. They could even be for something like earthing a lump of ballast in the front wing

  • tim07/05/2011 at 20:16

Thanks Steven. The race will be better with him than without him.
