Hello and welcome to Saturday. Today is World Environment Day which is an international day to raise awareness of... well, the environment, I'm guessing. That being the case, I think it's only fair to mention the panda, don't you? The panda does it's bit for the environment by generally keeping out of the way, and being pretty darn cute. Now, on to the bullet points.
- After several long years of arguing that F1 is the only sport that matters, we are suddenly starting to awaken to the beauty of other sporting endeavours. I have long since been a fan of the tennis, but have been paying special attention over the last few months. Today and tomorrow we have the finals of the French Open, and soon it will be Wimbledon. We'll have plenty to say along the way, I'm sure.
- We're beginning to plan our mission to cover all things Le Mans as the 24 Hour race slowly creeps up on us. All I know is that the fabulous Franck will be present, barring any more of his ribs suffering injuries, but Mr C has in mind multiple live threads and 24 hours worth of commenting as well. Sounds like fun!
- Finally, it even looks like we might be making space on the site for football! With the World Cup rapidly approaching, we're planning how to cover the event - both for those who want to enjoy it, and for those who would rather steer clear of anything involving twenty-two players and a ball. We're hoping to please everyone, as if that is even possible.
That should do it for now. Don't forget to check out Nathan's great guest post, and visit this page if you're inspired to submit your own words for publishing. I will see you in the comments.
It's Saturday apparently
Justin Wilson is better at the Autosport video diary than McNish.. Much better.

i must sleep, thank you for the awesome daily mrs c. :)

Rightio, I'm going to go cry myself to sleep and have Australia based dreams. Night folks x
Good night. He will change his mind in a couple of days

Night.. You could always just turn up in Oz.
I like that plan. First sidepodcast intrcontinental stalker
That you know of....
Until Amy gets to Spa
hello everyone
hi leigh
Indycar practice returneth and because the session is being held at a vaguely reasonable hour where it's not too hot, there are more people in the stands than there were for practice; although that does not say much as the stands are virtually empty
good morning or good evening or even good night
:)
after qualifying??
*gets truman show flashbacks*
hi leigh
yep - i think it's a acclimatisation session as this is the time the race will be run, but it still doesn't make any sense to have practice now...
hey
some good pack running and on some of the shots, it's a lot fuller than earlier on
watching now. this is good.
did you notice the way the cars in the pack running 1st, 3rd and 5th ran high through the banking, while the cars 2nd, 4th and 6th ran low - it's like a strange kind of ballet
Hmmm... had a quick look at the ticket prices for raceday at Texas - mid level grandstand seat just by the start/finish line is $84 for race day.
Not too bad i suppose, but there's not a whole lot else on during the day to fill that out.
i know they might be off the track on pit lane, but it only takes on car to lose control over the finish line and veer into there
it has happened before...
:o
Football? Football?!!
Please. If I want to watch 22 overpaid idiots I'd much rather they were in racing cars.
oh yesh! am looking forward to it.
plus, have you seen how much alonso earns. case closed ;)
wayne rooney in a race car
nah
I think one of the reasons the pits are laid out as they are is they are absolutely massive and everyone must be behind the secondary wall. The pitlane is as wide as the track - i think the idea is a car will have scrubbed off enough speed before hitting the second inner wall to do too much harm
there's 24 idiots this year
ashley cole complained about the fact he was only earning £50,000 a week.....
compared to schumi, he's underpaid
so has driving with a hand injury, the last time i saw that, it didn't end well. at all
I thought he got more?! one of the guys in work supports Liverpool and was saying something about Torres being offered insane money to move
an accident sadly burned in my brain...
mine too, forever
Just so long as you don't have an England flag on your car.....
to this day, it is the only time an accident has ever made me physical ill - the insane ferocity...
ah, no.
Zoe and I have a spare room :)
Good. :D
It's the underpaid idiots (Australia, NZ etc) that make it interesting :-)
One of the guys that lives downstairs from me has had massive England flags attached to the handles of his wheelchair - like really massive
:)
:D
sounds like f1
Jeremy! Why don't these ****** iapds have flash on them?
Grrrrrrr
Stupid can't see lots of web sites
Grrrrrr
Hehe
Yep
but sidepodcast rocks... right?
Of course, about the only one!
I think we get more free publicity this way :P
what else do you need? ;-)
:D
If fast, I was amazed to see the imbedded YouTube stuff still worked. Very clever
trust me, the pain your going through is building a better future for everyone. especially me.
If fast? Ahem. In fact.
ustream is the big fail at the moment, but it's out of our hands sadly.
actually, I switched away from flash for my pictures last week. can you tell me how does it looks/work in the ipad?
Well I hope other sites actually do move to html5
http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/
http://www.apple.com/html5
yup, nice lightbox. lovely mountain.
affected me more than imola 1994. a future champion lost forever
heading for sleep now.
hope to see you guys later this weekend, and this week.
i have a week off, and intend to make the most of it. visiting as many places as i can
may I ask how do you do that? they have html5 embedding?
Oooo clever. Nice little lake
...and IndyCar practice is done for Friday evening.
1) Dixon 2) Kanaan 3) Power
:)
ustream works on their own site annoyingly, they just haven't enabled the embeds. a bit frustrating.
they have done for a while. you can select it if you have a compatible browser
tomorrow it is
good night
night SB
youtube handle it. i didn't do anything. webber's site also does it so i assume it's a global thing:
http://markwebber.com/
Night sb.
It's actually more non-video stuff that has been getting me, like tennis scores and the like
seconded
Is this Moore? Terrible shame..
Have a good week.
good! thanks, it was a lot of work to learn enough javascript to get there. I'm glad it works fine :-)
budgets were already allocated to flash development. i know that's no longer the case. it'll catch up soon enough. you're paying the early adopter price at the moment.
Yep
did ya use jquery?
I assumed I had to do something because I have some videos embedded and I know they don't work with flash turned off. I may have to check it again, maybe re-embed them to see if I get a different code
Ahh, that makes sense.
Still love the iPad to bits.
Now, if only that could settle on one ebook reader, one odf reader and one magazine type I would be happy!
I think, yes.
honestly have done nothing. i know that ustream and dropio currently don't support it and we're waiting on them to get to it. then we can finally be flash free.
good stuff. worth learning, best thing i ever learnt. i think alex recommended it.
10 years. that's my prediction. there's a lotta learning to be done before then :(
only thing I know is that it apparently saved me from a many dozens of lines of code. and it seemed much more natural to code than the equivalent plain JS, at least from the few functions I found the two ways of doing it
Cripes. You know I have 4 ebook readers and 3 type of magazines?
doesn't surprise me. i have x3 mags and x3 formats.
the publishing industry is doomed to repeat the mistake of the music industry. it'll be a carbon copy fail, sadly. at least though we have a decent device to read on now. standards be damned.
True enough. I must say GP+ seemed perfect as a PDF right away. Although it doesn't have all that cool Wired stuff
wired format should be available to all indesign users soon. and joe uses in design. fingers crossed.
Is Amy around already?
AAAAAMMMMMMYYYY!!!
i know she's working today kathi, not sure what time she's starting though?
ha! that worked. Thank you
:D
;)
Hi
g'morning m'lady.
Thanks for the headping
international headping. are you at work?
hi amy
I start in 35 minutes so am pondering getting up. The other half of me is thankful I don't live a 1hr commute away like so many of my colleagues.
Hi and bye. :)
bye kathi
bye kathi
you can get from bed to your desk in 35 minutes?
yarrrghhh....
it's 2.27am and my bedroom is boiling hot - this is the part of summer i disagree with
>:(
Its a 16 minute walk
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3t2-wS92ClM
you can get up and out of you house in... 20 minutes?
I moved house (temporarily) from 15min walking to 30min walking/bus. I'm suffering now :-(
with the minimum of effort and maximum cool of course
;)
crazy talk!
it takes me that long to managed breakfast.
Bye Kathi :D
it will be all right when I move again at the end of the month. just 10min by bus ;-)
:D
come back panda! come back!
I can get up and out in 5. I normally decide what to year the might before, I eat breakfast at work, I've always been a night time shower person. Mornings are easy. I read somewhere the average woman takes 70 minutes to get ready and I fell off my chair
:D
i take about 70 minutes...
!!!!!
I take 5 minutes. The only problem is thats usually 1 minute before I'm meant to be there.
how do you shower, eat and prepare in 5mins?
Including shower, but not breakfast, I must be just below those 70min from bed to the door. not bad for a man ;-)
Okay... 10 minutes. Shower takes what, 4 minutes-ish, i don't usually have that much for breakfast so it can be eaten in a second(ish) and getting ready can be done quite easily.
you shower in 4 minutes? i haven't found the on switch in that time.
#notamorningperson
i got up today, but the hot water wasn't running = cold shower
me did grumble
that would ruin my week.
(can you see why i need a hotel in spa?)
The on switch always seems to be on when I go in. To be fair, I'm usually up at 8 and out of the house 20 minutes later. Thats including the time I use to find out whats going on on Sky Sports News...
crazy, crazy talk
you don't like being around regular folk
;)
:)
I hate mornings so I plan on having less of a one. Simple.
I need, at least, 15min in the water. And that if I'm not taking a looong bath to relax after some sporty thing...
same here. 'cept for the sporty thing.
:-)
as long as my shower lasts long enough for my to get all my daily swearing out of the way, i'm fine
oops, joe swore. i may need a beep.
you're on with joe?
editing. recorded last nght.
ah right
#sameperson. ish.
Ah breakfast at work would seem to be key.
30 minutes here, then a 12 minute drive which in my head takes 8 minutes. I don't actually wake up until 9.30, after my first cup of tea in the office has gone down..
Breakfast at work means I have to buy less milk because I use theirs. Good for my budgeting :D
anyhoo, i'm off to sleep
good night
Yep and for that reason evening showers instead of morning showers rock. Wash the day away with no need to rush thinking "got to get going". Then you can just get up and vaguely aim for the door (after food, shave, etc).
night chap
right.
but how do you wake up?
Night
I don't really.
:)
I buy the milk at work, so it's not cheaper :P
Anyway, I can't have breakfast until I'm properly up and awake. That's one hour at least, two to be sure.
night leigh
YES! that's normal :)
I'm often in a daze in the house. Especially if I've been up late commenting, blogging, watching telly etc. On those days the manic walk to the car and subsequent Colin McRae impression on the lanes to work are often enough. Need to work on that.
I'm the opposite, I can't wake up until breakfast has been had. Same for weekends. Actually for several grand prix this year I've got up, pottered about, sat down and watched the race and not actually woken up until halfway through when I've made tea and cereal. And if something actually happens in the race I don't get it and I'm dozy.
I'm not a morning person either. I have two alarms and one of them gets the snooze button pressed 3 times before I move
right. I'm going home. see you in 30min or tomorrow for Texas... bye!
see ya sir
See ya
Watched 2 eps of The Wire, second season (2003 - no spoilers please ;)). Maybe 90% as good as the first but it looks like it's about to get better again.
Maybe I should blog about my experience with IPTV rather than getting everything via computer. Mystifies me why it isn't massive.
Actually I'm yawning my head off, sleep beckons, good night.
Saturday's jobs include finding a birthday present for me nan, and finding out if one of the second-hand shops wants to buy my armchair..
noght pat
Ooh, Simpsons marathon
not sure i can use this as a title, but:
"do you have a large goat listenership?"
has to be the strangest question i've have ever been asked on a podcast....
I just bought some space invaders pyjamas. I am so cool
oh my!
I saw then a couple of weeks ago and I haven't been able to stop thinking about them. And I was in the store anyway picking up an australia to europe power adaptor and saw they were on sale. Bargain!
x1 aside show finished, shall sleep now and release later today.
you've only just bought the adaptor? am stunned.
I am fussy, because I travel with a lot of gadgets I like the double adaptors so I can charge 2 things at once. They are strangely hard to find because most of the stores that have them seem to always be sold out. I have my UK one from when I went to Singapore but have been hunting down a Europe one for months.
And I have one but it doesn't always fit the power points in the hotels... I carry a little bag recycled from business class with a number of adapters in it wherever I go...
Morning all.
And me!
Lost its way a little in the third series but then returned to form. We're part way through the last one now.
The volcano is going again ...
the steam/ash cloud had died down during the last week. 5 Min ago it started again. The cloud is white instead of black so hopefully it won't bring too much ash
Oh dear. Mr brother and wife are heading to France on wednesday.
Morning...
I might write a post about my experiences last year, something I never got around to. We'll see how things go in the next few days eh?
I'm shocked at how long you all take to get up in the morning! I'd say I'd allow myself about 20 minutes from bed to door :P I also get breakfast at work though so maybe that's the deciding factor.
Morning :)
Have you given up on your FR posts?
i take about 2 hours.
first 90 mins spent eating breakfast, feeding the animals, browsing online, and filling ipod with podcasts/music
the last 30 mins spent getting ready and out the door.
i can't do the quick out of bed, ready for work thing anymore. i need to come round. i am quite grouchy in the morning.
Hmmm...
I wonder if this will affect my Canadian adventure...
That thing has ruined my life :(
Ohhh Alison...
I am so sorry to be so self centred... I forgotten your woes....
It's fine. I just like to forget the stupid thing exists. I now live in denial.
Have you or yours got any travels coming up?...
Boo volcano!
In about 3 weeks :D :D
I'm sure it'll all be fine....
I think you have more to worry about if you are booked with BA...
Would I do such a thing :P
I use Emirates because I can fly direct without having to go to London.
Excellent...
I bet you are counting the days...
Kathi, do you want any money yet? Payment must be due soon?
It's another big day for sport today....
MotoGP and the Derby...
A relative of mine won the Oaks yesterday...
Snow Fairy...
Yup yup :D :D :D
Except I might actually melt when I get there. I'm trying to work out if I can get away with just staying indoors :P
I recommend the awesome champagne cocktails at the Al Qasr...
OH NO...
Rossi has smashed his leg and will be out for months...
No he's out for this round and they don't know how long he'll be out for, lets not tempt fate, he hasnt even got to the hospital yet
EH?!!!
I took this from this tweet Jon..
"tobymoody Medical guys at track saying 2 months out for Rossi. 1st race he'll miss since 31 March 1996. "
I hope he is wrong but the bone is sticking out of the leg... that won't be quick....
Oooooowwwwwwww!
I'm trying to remember how long it took when Mick Doohan broke his leg. Made a mess of the season. This might hand it to Lorenzo, especially the way Stoner is riding
I think I'll wait with that until I'm back in Finland (sept 20th). Thanks to this job ere I have enough money to pay everything without getting into trouble with my bank.
Don't hesitate to shout if that doesn't work for you - it's an awful lot of money to cover by yourself!
will do.
Shock, horror... not back in Finland for the rally then?...
oh no!
After the race?
nope. That's the third Finland rally I am going to miss. I'm a rubbish planner
motomatters confirmed he will miss 4 races. This will have a huge impact on the 2010 title race and the 2011 silly season. Lorenzo is well and truly the title favorite now.
Does anyone know if you can get money back off an oyster card?
There's an Oyster Ticketing and Refunds Office at London Underground, 55 Broadway, London SW1H 0BD Tel: 0845 330 9876. Don't know if there is an admin fee but they should be able to let you know the procedure.
Oooh the opposite of a fee, they'd return my deposit :D
I might ring them and see if I can keep the card though. I will use it again. It just seems silly keeping cash on a card I'm not going to use for months and months
because my new PJs are so awesome I took a picture of the fabric
http://twitpic.com/1u4n41
hooray!
cool :)
version 1 of the Le Mans Spotters Guide is up from Andy Blackmore.. http://www.spotterguides.com/
v2 will come midweek when the final details are known
I have to go back to work now. I'll ring the oyster people on Monday. Thanks Janna :D
yaaaay womans final time
aw the british are being mean to this match :(
I think Pivovarova is my favourite surname ever.
Sounds like a dessert.
Just been to the shop, nice and warm out, lots of people around in town. Bought a pot plant for a birthday present for a relative 30 min drive away, deciding whether to go over today or tomorrow..
Perhaps today, nice sunny drive, and perhaps I can do nothing at all tomorrow then.
Paris looks very very hot today but can it be overcast and cold and rainy tomorrow? Thanks.
want!
For entirely selfish reasons I'm hoping it rains heavily next week so I can stay home and watch / listen to Le Mans. If it is sunny I'll get people dragging me away..
:)
I want to go back and get the matching underwear. Space Invaderrrrrs!
i demand it be on the google homepage now :)
I tried to buy these a few years ago but they wanted $70 for shipping and I am not that foolish.
ouch. i wonder if i am?
it may have changed since then, last time I looked they weren't offering international shipping at all as they were "trying to think of a better method"
they send a pdf and you print it yourself?
Do you ship to the UK or overseas?
No, we are currently reviewing shipping options for overseas.
They've been doing that for more than a year!
:)
it can be tricky to navigate, that atlantic ocean.
sammy noooo
I am watching the coverage of the Derby and have just found a sportsman who is more monosyllabic than Kimi...
Champion jockey Ryan Moore...
Bless...
Very weirdly Suzie Perry is on the commentary team....
It's just not right... she should be at Mugello...
:)
Hello gentle people,
What goes on?
:)
just proof listening the joe show.
Ooohh... some listening material arriveth soon
:)
over a hour too. couldn't get it under the 60 min mark.
Super Extra Bonus Joe!!
transcriber says noooo
#sorryamy
I just got in. Did I miss it?
we still have to make some transcriber merchandise. might have time now too.
Interestingly one of the jockeys in the Derby, Ahmed Ajtebi, started off as a camel jockey but couldn't "do" the weight of about 4 stones!!! so someone suggested he ride horses instead...
Lettuce leaf anyone?...
its still going but its a tie break in the second set. Could all be over soon :(
I do not deserve anything, I have somehow ended up about 9 shows behind. Wise of me to dedicate myself to the only podcast you're still producing :D
oh but we insist.
we've just started a really short show...
championship point. did not see this coming!
She's dancing around like a crazy woman!
The favourite Jan Vermeer is gorgeous...
If looks won a race he'd have it in the bag...
I like how happy winning makes people. I wanted Sam to win but I cannot be sad with that :D
They were all huggy too. That makes it okay.
oooh Italian anthem. It's so F1 to me.
Tis the second half of the F1 National Anthem.
Hey everyone! i missed the match :( was it good?
I only saw the final tie break.
Mr C sir...
twas! But thats OK, you were expected to miss it, from what I saw of the British media apparently NO ONE who doesn't live in Australia or Italy was watching.
hello
Would sir like an-F1 light guest post for this rather warm Saturday evening?
that would be absolutely delightful dear chap.
Amazing...
I rather solid looking Workforce with the somewhat mute jockey Ryan Moore has won going away... on a course record...
Frankie's mount Rewilding came third...
grand job
:)
wow.
i was having too much of a good time in the apple shop. i'm not sure they could have been nicer... i was referred to a very lovely genius who was free between slots and he literally diagnosed the problem, gave me a load information and options in just 4minutes.. perfect customer service.
yay for apple. what was up with it?
you need to put that in f1 terms for me :)
one of the connectors inside the headphone socket is bent :( so.. i either have to pay £140 to get it fixed or claim it on house insurance. The man was so lovely, he wrote down a little list of things i could do too.
genius.
ahem.
indeed! he was having a quick break in between slots and saw me looking lost so said if i didn't mind him drinking his glass of water he would have a look for me.
i.heart.apple. :)
Not possible because however wonderful F1 cars are they are machines...
Horses are not... and are amazing...
Frankie Dettori is racing's answer to Rossi... no... make that Rossi is MotoGPs answer to Frankie....
I already mentioned that Ryan was as interview averse as a certain Finn....
ah-ha. ta.
Suzie has a most awful yellow hat and a frumpy dress...
Not at all Suzie...
*opens iplayer*
just a man in a hat.
good afternoon...
hey sir
Noooo....
i had a successful day today. whilst i was chatting to the nice genius in the apple shop mum and my aunt started looking around.. i found them looking at a macbook pro. mum's only comment was 'hhmmmm these look nice don't they? are they any good?.. i suppose they must be good for media stuff?'
ehehe! she is slowly coming round to seeing i need one :) oh and see pointed out this 'lovely phone' that would 'be perfect' for when i upgrade my handset next month... HTC desire here i come :D hehe!
i mean, it's a nice hat.
I've just heard about Rossi's crash. I'm shocked... (but relieved that he's ok except for the leg). I hope he recovers quickly :-(
oooh epic rain. tempted to put my rain coat on to test it out :D
hehehe :D pics and a blog post please :D
ping: http://sidepodcast.com/2010/06/05/an-aside-with-joe-and-bingo-bango-here-they-come/
I say tempted but bed is quite nice too. I did consider getting in the shower in my jacket because since I bought it it hasn't rained at all. Until now.
better to test it in controlled situations than to find that it doesn't work at inconvenient moment... ;-)
noooo, just when I was thinking about sleep
hehehe! :)
Mr C sir,
Guest post sent!!
:)
...and now to listen to Joe
legend. we're just putting up lady snowcat's now, and then we'll be right on it.
sweet
Lady Snowcat is worrying about what exactly Kimi is up to at this moment...
RED BULL Motorclash
At 06:00pm a true highlight of the whole Erzbergrodeo will take place! Former Formula 1 world champion Kimi Räikkönen will race his WRC Citröen C4 Rallyecar against 3-time Erzbergrodeo champ Taddy Blazusiak. A reckless, crazy high-speed pursuit to the top of the Iron Giant.

WOW
The loser has to clean his opponent's vehicle...
heheeheh!!
is that tonight?
In my reckoning it's on now....
We are 1 hour behind Europe aren't we?...
Scott Richardson's photo stream of Mike Conway's crash from last week's 500 - if you haven't seen it yet, it will blow your socks off
:o
http://www.scottrichardsonphotography.com/2010/05/31/indianapolis-500-conway-wreck-5-30-10/
:( honda dude :(
it is shocking, but amazing considering how light his injuries compared to what they would have been in the previous car...
oooh Senna v Prost is available on Kindle. I had no idea! It's ridiculously overpriced though :(
Can't believe he's still with us..
Amazing...
damn, is it being broadcast anywhere?
awesome post ping: http://sidepodcast.com/2010/06/05/rocky-road-iceman/
.....I'm hungry now.
yarrrghhhh....
just cooked me a lovely dinner and a lot of tea - now i am tired, bloated and unable to get off my bed - ughhh.............
ooohh-err
Evening. Got in just in time for Dr Who. Although there is a revealing doco on Op.Overlord on 2.. decisions..
hi pat
a question for you all...
seeing as i haven't seen anything on his website yet.. do we think this is a legitimate site?.. he had a just giving page last year.. and is going the Tri this year too.. so i'm thinking maybe it is. It seems strange that this year it says the page was created by Jenson.. when last year it was created by Jules..
i'm assuming it's fine though..
http://www.justgiving.com/jb2010
just finished listening to "aside..." - now it's doctor who time!!
:)
"I transcribed for sidepodcast and all I got was this lousy t-shirt"
I keep forgetting about Dr Who, grr, wish it would stop clashing with the speedway.
Hey folks.
I would wait until there is an official confirmation in his page
hey rg
ignore me.. it is legitimate.. his mum is plugging it.. :)
:P

Wow, how did he get so many in that quality in such a short time?
Busy fingers?

marvellous episode of doctor who tonight - really enjoyed that

Hey Mr Jon

he's never ever on twitter. i thought about tweeting him but i was out when he was online today. His mum appears to be linking to it alot though so i'm going to assume it's not made up.

Dear BBC,
Please put Dr Who on iPlayer desktop as a download for those of us who can't stream anything.

one of my friends on facebook is friends with Simone, she often reposts links from her.. so you get the 'via' thing.. (like you did with the surprised kitten video i linked to Jon).. it just turns up in my facebook feeds. i don't stalk her. that would be... strange..
Your friend knows Jensons mum?! Awesome

Question; if a photo is Creative commons on flickr then you have to credit it but a photo im using already has "photographed by... etc" as part of the photo, so do i still need to put it as a credit?
hello! :)
good question. i guess not.
although you still have to say it's CC. and point to the licence, right?
ill link the picture to their flickr aswell, just to be safe
over-crediting is never a bad thing, if you have space to do it. if not, the
copyright sentence on it should be fine.
it also depends on the creative commons license. normally you should link to the license, as they ask you to make clear to others this terms
really? i've never done that, I always put "Credit: username" as a subtitle and then link that to the flickr account
Cite the specific CC license the work is under. If you are publishing on the Internet, it is nice if the license citation links to the license on the CC website.
http://wiki.creativecommons.org/FFAQ#How_do_I_properly_attribute_a_Creative_Commons_licensed_work.3F
I understand you have to do it because of the last point in the license
http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/
i really should read that again, they've changed it.
OK. Welcome in our luxurious mobile home :D
:D
ok so heres the picture http://www.flickr.com/photos/studiocurve/12470549/ if you were using that how would you reference it?
Copyright: studiocurve. Some rights reserved
i guess.
gotcha :) ta
RT @f1photos: First weather forecast for next weekends #f1 Montreal. Friday mid 20s sunny, Saturday mid 20s showers and Sunday mid 20s rain.
Hmmm :)
I would put a caption saying 'Photograph by Mamebouzu. Released under Creative Commons BY-NC-ND'
sooo confusing!
All the different licences and those codes confuse the heck out of me.
i dunno - i'm always a little suspicious of 7 day forecasts, or even same day forecasts for that matter
:)
even better
yes. Mr. C version seems more appropriate for a general blog though, I'd go with it
it's a great concept, but badly executed.
I know they are unreliable...
It all depends on the amount of effort, modeling information and historic data you have. I know a company that make a business of giving 4 days predictions of freezing days in the fruit farming region here. They have to do it to the hour and within a precision of 1 or 2 degrees Celsius, as the owners of the fields have to rent equipment (helicopter) and allocate working hours to counteract the frost.
All I know is, if Mike Gascoyne says it will rain, it will be nice and sunny.
rq-esque?
I got the Monaco weather right....
true enough. gazza does give detailed times though.
I think it's only fair to mention the panda, don't you? The panda does it's bit for the environment by generally keeping out of the way, and being pretty darn cute. {Original entry}
Also pandas do a sterling job of managing the bamboo-based ecological systems of China...
not sure i can use this as a title, but:
"do you have a large goat listenership?"
has to be the strangest question i've have ever been asked on a podcast.... {Comment #176}
There are three goats (mini-lawnmowers) at my house. Perhaps I should introduce them to Sidepodcast?
that would be ace!
Woohoo! I've arranged a ridiculous manouver to get round my lack of printer. Who'd have thought an e-ticket would require so much paper....
Morning all.
We're beginning to plan our mission to cover all things Le Mans as the 24 Hour race slowly creeps up on us. All I know is that the fabulous Franck will be present
And me! {Comment #184}
Yay! Hope you have a great time at La Sarthe. This will be the first year I've got annoyed that something clashes with Le Mans - I'd paid attention to it before but this year it's turned serious for me...
more guest post awesomeness ping: http://sidepodcast.com/2010/06/05/texas-barbecue-briscoe/
that would be ace! {Comment #411}
Right, where's my MP3 player? (I may have to wait until tomorrow to actually play it to them though).
TThe results of the thingie Lady Snowcat mentioned earlier:
Kimi 10 min 28 sec Taddy 11 min 06 sec
lower times are better, right?
i wonder what the celebrations for the winner will be tonight - the promoter at texas (eddie gossage) has some rather... odd ideas
:)
Hurrah...
Not having to wash someone's muddy bike is a great motivator...
I'm shocked at how long you all take to get up in the morning! {Comment #190}
I like to take 90 minutes, though I can shorten it if necessary.
- 30 minutes to read
- 10 minutes to get dressed
- 10 more minutes of reading (I like my reading :) )
- 15 minutes to eat breakfast
- 5 minutes to brush my hair
:)
Loving all these guest posts
Are you live commenting more stuff?
erm. it's 1:30am, but i shall try.
(if that's ok?)
yeah sure, why not? i may be the only one up though....
:)
OH NO...
Rossi has smashed his leg {Comment #208}
:( That's a shame! MotoGP won't be the same without him these next few races. Hope he makes a swift and complete recovery.
really, really (hearts) everybody soooo much. we have another from TM coming, but i need to speak to him first, and i think scott was planning one too.
much appreciated all round.
Hello gentle people,
What goes on?
:) {Comment #250}
Just come back from swimming, having spent the two hours before that preparing for and being visited by by my mum's cousin. It was a surprise to see him but a nice chat.
hmmm... BBC 5live are talking about Britain's Got Talent - I may now start headbutting the wall
I really really hope to be wrong, but this may be the end of his career. With Lorenzo rising so fast, if there is any problem with his recovery he may chose to go rallying/F1 at the end of the season rather than suffering legs problems (and being beaten as a result) for a couple of years more.
On the other hand, going by his record, he's very capable of coming back in 45 days and storm to win the championship to show everybody how good he is :-)
pics from the duell. At least I hope that's what they are, my connection is too weak to check.
it was a car against a bike? cooool!
If you're good.
noted.

GARRRRRRR!!!!
Why can't I prove my identity :(
Evening all
You are Alison. It says so at the top of your comment. Case solved.
:)
*waves*
evening steven
I haven't got any proof of address :( None of the bills are in my name, it's a bit of a nightmare. I can't really be bothered changing the address on my drivers licence plus that's going to take aaaages!
That is a problem
Why can't I get them to post me a secret message and they can see if I get it or not. It's ridiculous that I could apply for things in my landlord's name but not mine. I have loads of her mail kicking around.
If only the doohickey did proof of address. Can you not get your landlord to post you a rent invoice? Would that work
Mobile phone bill?
I don't get a bill. I don't really get any post. I find it annoying and turn it all off where possible.
Also I moved house a fortnight ago and need proof of this address. I really have nothing. I wonder if I can get the DWP to write to me for no reason....
Dear Mr Cameron,
Alison lives in Merseyside
Love Doohickey
:D
I found a letter :D :D :D
Life is good.
yaaay!
:)
I'm ignoring the fact that it wasn't actually posted to me. It looks like it was.... It's from the government. I'm sure they'll never know :P
Is it an R?
Now you sound like Nick. Although he suggested W
How could it be a W?
You remember Stuart C talked about a car he had to leave out of his recent book? Well.. the words have appeared as a Feature on Autosport.com (subs only). Interesting.
http://www.autosport.com/features/article.php/id/2853
I'm sorry, it's no use backtracking now.
hi everyone,
i can now safely say that i am back from the pub
:)
hi leigh
hullllllo
hic... hi
keep meaning to do something constructive but just too warm
the only constructive thing i'll be doing tonight is watching the race

I started organising my Twitter lists but found Joe more interesting, and didn't start anything afterwards other than listening to other stuff

Me too :)

Just to add insult to injury (not quite literally) Valentino had said on Friday that Mugello was easier on his shoulder. I suppose it is if you only get to do half the weekend :(
