It is Independence Day today, although Mr C and I also recognise it as the day Will Smith helps save us from aliens. Bruce has got the meteorites covered and Will knows what he's doing with those UFOs, what could go wrong? Anyway, here are some of the things we're talking about:
- What's going on with Alan Donnelly then? The story is that Virgin are moving their sponsorship, which is fair enough. Their relationship with Brawn has been dwindling almost since the first race. So, what does this Donnelly fella have to do with it?
- Over on the F1 Big Pic, we took the challenge of covering the Valencia story. What were the chances of finding a decent pic of that instantly forgettable race? I am mightily disappointed the green building didn't make the pic, but we should be able to see more of that if there is less seating around.
- Finally, Alianora has written a great post about her daily process of finding out what's going on in the world of F1, detailing which sites she visits and in which order. Would love to hear other people's routines as well.
That'll do it for now. It's Goodwood Saturday, so we'll still be keeping an ear and eye out for any pics or tweets cropping up. As always, I'll see you in the comments.
Evening all :) how is everyone?
Mornin lou. I be alright, nettle sting not so bad anymore
Oh.dear.lord.
Bernie thinks Max should be Prime Minister.
I wish this was just Bernie's weird sense of humour, but I think he's actually being serious.
Hi Lou,
Did you fall off your punt?
nettle sting? (has basically been away all day) i'm pleased it's getting better though.
good night, lou
Yeah. Some clever person chipped me, the bar and landed the ball into the nettle field thing.
nope! punting is really really fun! especially when your guide is a very cute guy from Glasgow with the nicest accent ever... *cough* so no i didn't fall off. I saw someone else fall off though.
He doesn't think Max's background would be a problem. It was the last time he set up a political party with his father. The one good thing about him screwing up motor racing is that he is not involved in real politics. Besides he would not make as much money doing that.
Technically though he's not supposed to be making money from the FIA Presidency - he just coincidentally became rich at the same time ;)
i'm just looking through Ollie's flickr photos of today... do you think it's possible to sleep through saturday to make sunday come quicker?
These things just happen. One day you find you have to move your home and office to Monaco. I am sure it happens in all unpaid jobs
I am miles behind today. Haven't caught up on the comments, haven't been to Ollie's site or quite a few others. I guess the weekend is for catching up.
But Saturday has loads of fun stuff happening, like, erm, this. Oh yeah, that is happening.
Actually, I'd sleep through Saturday since it looks like pure boredom.
i've going to an open air concert at my school tomorrow evening, and have a few bits to do tomorrow, but i want to sleep lots, seeing as i need to get up super early on sunday and it will be a v. v. long day.
i haven't read the comments back from a few days ago either :( i feel very out of the loop.
just put an answer here and there and look as if you were aware of everything that was said... it works for me :P
There's the first stage of the Tour de France...
yeah, nothing's happening tomorrow.
can't physically stay awake any longer. time for sleep. night all x
night lou, enjoy your 23 and a half hour sleep.
night lou.
night lou
A very quick hello - hi!
hey Pat. How's you this morning?
morning? it's midnight!
Technically its morning and i like to be technically correct.
Morning is when light appears.
But yeah I'm very tired but very happy
I just watched the slideshow of his pictures. I really wish I was going
Did I miss anything in the way of GW meetup planning? I got waylaid coming online.
Bernie = Foot.In.Mouth.
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/formula_1/article6633340.ece
Oh, and morning, everyone.
Why does he have to be in charge of F1?
Because he swooped on it while no one was looking...
That is dumb even for him. Hopefully CVC will fire him for that.
As long as this mess quiets down, they'll keep him. CVC will only him if there some huge public outrage against it.
*only fire him
Pesky birds
:D
On the train home from Roskilde - dirty sweaty and tired but Oasis was effin awesome. Saw Grace Jones and Nine Inch Nails too!
Wow - that's a good set of bands there. Glad to see you enjoyed your Friday night.
At work. I love my job, but I'd rather be at home. My weekend starts in 7 hours :D
Oooh, sounds like a lot of fun. Can we expect lots of piccies?
Cheers guys, sorry no pics yet as I had no camera. When I get some from my mates cams I'll drop.io them!
and this one:
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/formula_1/article6632991.ece
This man is too old to be doing the job he is in. These comments reek of old age (I don't care what people think) disease
quick comment scan from Thurs. Noticed MrC going off Twitter.
currently:
You're going off it 'cos you are doing it wrong. Just leave it open. Only using it for basically PR purposes will get old quickly.
Before I complain about him being a bird again, shall head off to sleep. Night all.
glad you liked!
off now. keyboard dying (batteries low). gtg to a wedding later (boring) and then sleep + Goodwood before back online. hope to tweet it.
Formula 1 = extreme sports mixed with daytime soaps (TV)
Twitter (Micro-blogging) = 24 hour news channel mixed with gossip magazines
i used to do it right, though. but what conversation can i have there, that i can't here?
and people don't keep retweeting hosting companies brand names over here.
for me it is to communicate with different groups of people about different things. luckily i've avoided most of the spam, still get the odd spammer follower but they are avoidable. presumably your problem is they @ you to get your attention, which is harder to avoid..
Exactly! Why does Alia go through all that checking of sites? Just (vainly) try to find time to read all the comments on here :P
Ultimate lazy person's guide to keeping up with a particular topic - just start a blog and have the community that you build up do all the hard work!
there is that, but even 5livef1 was trying to blag a free laptop earlier.
all bets are off when the beeb are pimping hosting companies in return for apple gear, surely?
hehe. looking to the future, i see a twitter world full of spammers and no means of moderating or controlling it.
tbh this is the same for me. the people i found either from my having a blog, or who led me to have a blog, mostly all of them are on twitter. it is interesting talking about a topic with one group and having people from another group weigh in with their perspective.
If the Beeb are doing it that's a matter for their internal policy unit. They know full well they shouldn't be involved in commercial matters.
i don't think they understood what they were doing. but then i don't think half the people retweeting the name know why they're doing it.
and that makes it worse.
This is very true unless they can develop much improved controls. I'm not convinced they will do it. If they don't, another service will come along and replace it, until the spammers work their way around that..
Of course, this doesn't work if everybody copies me. Keep researching and reading other sites folks - be the first to report something new here and win the respect and admiration of your online friends :)
:P
Hmm. You'd think a Beeb person would have been more aware, but since I didn't see the Tweets I can't really comment.
i think they've been removed. it's not important, that wasn't my point.
i guess i was kind of fed up already with "maxout" hash tags and avatars. it's just another thing for me.
there is a bit of a 'sheep' culture on it. something gets momentum so everyone feels as though they have to do it. trouble is, every social network will be the same after a certain critical mass and "the great unwashed" get aboard.
burnout from over exposure is to be avoided at all costs. It seems you are aware of this and taking the right precautions, however, I will keep an eye on you. What are friends for? :P
agreed. it's not a problem, just thought i'd throw my thoughts out there.
really must go to bed now. i hope to be here late tomorrow night because I want to sort out a GW meetup, but no guarantees, depends what happens with this post-wedding party i'm going to.
night!
night pat.
:)
same here really. when someone becomes disillusioned with something i still really like, i tend to throw thoughts around until either they convince me i'm wrong, or vice versa :-)
i mean just this minute... without twitter we wouldn't have rubinho wishing danica well this wknd.
rubarrichello @DanicaPatrick Danica Rubens here...good luck this weekend.
hehe.
in that case, like jeremy, i'll rely on you to keep us informed.
now sleep!
I had better do some more work. see you on the other side...
Hey guys
G'Day all!
Morning all. I need a Sidepodhug. :(
Morning.
Time for Rhythms of the World 2009!
PARTY!
I can't. I have a headache. :(
Mornin Sidepodland, hows you all today?
Aww, whats the matter?
Dad's had to cancel the WSR trip because of work, which I was really looking forward to, my laptop,s charging cable is pretty much dead and work is getting rather stressful. You know that feeling where you just want everything to bugger off and leave you be? That's what I have right now. Of course that doesn't apply to you guys here ;)
I regret my decision to have fish and chips for dinner. I feel blurgh.
Ah man, such a shame that. Hope it gets better sir.
You cannot feel sick from fish and chips.
I ate too much. Way too much. :(
That may be the problem then
Morning all. I've just seen some of lukeh's tweets about goodwood. Looks like he is having an amazing time, I'm very jealous lol. I can't wait for tomorrow, and can't sleep anymore. Anyone up to much today?
Hopefully sleeping more than last night.
[Max] would, Mr Ecclestone says, make an excellent Prime Minister. “I prefer strong leaders. Margaret Thatcher made decisions on the run and got the job done. She was the one who built this country up slowly. We’ve let it go down again. {Comment #3}
The part of the UK I live in still hasn't recovered from Margaret Thatcher's attentions (particularly the way she destroyed the miner's unions and, indirectly, the entire industry). I suppose if that's Bernie's criterion for success, then proposing Max as an excellent Prime Minister makes perfect sense.
Bernie = Foot.In.Mouth. {Comment #31}
The moment I saw the headline, I thought "Good thing for him he's in F1, else he'd be out of a job for saying that". Bearing in mind that this is the same bloke who wasn't told off by CVC or anyone else who might have had power over him (as far as I know) for saying that women should wear white to match other kitchen appliances in 2006, I think he'll get away with this. Doesn't mean it's right :(
As my mum often says, "It's no use galloping if you are going in the wrong direction". Hitler may have been good at galloping but his sense of direction was so seriously misguided that he forever tarred the philosophies he espoused, including the ones (like collective organisation) that might have been beneficial to the world if wiser people with stronger senses of ethics had been in control.
You’re going off it ‘cos you are doing it wrong. Just leave it open. Only using it for basically PR purposes will get old quickly. {Comment #46}
Twitter is a conversation tool. Starting conversations and joining in those conversations of other people that look interesting will help a lot.
Though to be honest, I'm going off Twitter for its refusal to function, seemingly whatever I try to get it to work. At this rate, it will be going in the same bin as BATRacer for the exact same reason.
right, just put my usual $10 on Rubens for next weekend.
Why does Alia go through all that checking of sites? {Comment #53}
I like to keep informed on F1 stuff and to have lots of different perspectives on it. While it's possible to get quite a few here, having the professional versions, the views of other sorts of amateurs and even the odd bit of aggregation helps a lot.
It's also why I prefer Formula 1 Yearbook over Autocourse (I find Autocourse sees things in a very similar way to F1 Racing, and I already get that all year, whereas F1Y is written by French people - even if that sometimes shows in incomplete translations...)
Incidentally, when I had Twitter working, I used to start that up as soon as I'd finished looking at grandprix.com. I'd search for "lacanta" (not everyone remembers to stick @ in front), "F1", "Formula 1" and some keywords relating to favourites. This used to get some interesting conversations, including with someone who works for Force India (and I don't mean @clubforce). Since not everyone is everywhere, there is always going to be a benefit to roaming across cyberspace rather than staying in one place. The trouble is that it's a question of diminishing returns and one cannot spend all one's time on Formula 1, however interesting it is (I believe Jeremy is discovering the truth of this last statement)...
looking to the future, i see a twitter world full of spammers and no means of moderating or controlling it. {Comment #55}
Looking into the slightly-more-distant future, I see a world where a lot of ex-Twitterers have formed a new social network in protest at the lack of moderation/control of spammers (and virus-spreaders - there is now a virus spread through Twitter accounts).
What were his odds for this weekend?
I mean next weekend of course.
hes paying $10 for a win
Cool. I have $10 on Messers Vettle and Webber for the c'ship at $21 and $51 respectively.
Dad’s had to cancel the WSR trip because of work, which I was really looking forward to {Comment #80}
Oh no! Sorry to hear that. Hope things get better for you and your Dad soon.
*Sidepodhug*
Anyone up to much today? {Comment #85}
Finishing my series on the Silverstone trip (only two weeks after I got home, folks!), then going swimming this evening. Hopefully this time I'll remember where my locker key is...
well he has to win sooner or later...
Preferably later. ;)
have mr & mrs C been around much today? is this the time where they tell us they actually are at goodwood? :P
Hello. No Goodwood. We are spending the weekend sorting, thinking, trying to improve.
ahh okay ;) your silence made me wonder a little ;)
Heheh. We are full of surprises.
Well he's been given work by Palmer Sport so in all fairness he can't really afford to turn it down.
But there's a small chance I might still be able to go. Depends.
Loeb just parked right in front of me! Lots of photo's at top of the hill today... brawn 001 is here but they cant run it because of the testing ban! He will drive classic merc gp cars tomorrow.
omg testing ban = worst thing EVER! :( by 'he' do you mean Jenson?
... Jenson that is! Timo did a massive donut... Filmed it ;)
You'd better upload that pretty damn soon! ;)
okay so 'll be stalking Jenson tomorrow then ;) oh lukeh text me and told me he has a signed timo poster... lol i can't wait for tomorrow!!
Glock seems to be making himself very popular amongst fans at the moment. Good on Timo.
1939 Merc v12 is louder than a helicopter... I am sure Jenson will have fun!
eeeeekkkkkkk!!!!!! *jumps up and down* why isn't it sunday yet!!
Someone nearly crashed a zonda into an slr! ...more later race fans!
Better find out R.G's address now then...
Ladies' singles final at Wimbledon about to start on BBC1.
busy day for those Williams girls today
Have they got doubles final later on too?
yep, theres the mens doubles after this match then they are back on court
oh dear...someone just sent me a link to a load of jenson photos taken on a photography shoot in monaco...
I take they're terrible then.
explodey lou?
They can run the Brawn if they want. They can get demo tyres and call this a demonstration. The test ban excuse is bogus
Do the FIA really think Brawn are that desperate that they'll run new parts at a demo event? Seriously, it's ridiculous.
yes.
That's one hell of a jumper.
There is nothing stopping them running if the want. The FIA are not blocking this. The FIA allows demos.
ooh. overwhelming desire to get out knitting needles and make him something a little less hideous
Is he being sponsored by Iceland?
it looks nice and warm....
Heikki is going to Moscow
http://www.autosport.com/news/grapevine.php/id/76642
He should be going to Melbourne. Would be much better news.
Do the FIA really think Brawn are that desperate that they’ll run new parts at a demo event? Seriously, it’s ridiculous. {Comment #124}
My guess is they would be - but Bridgestone are supposed to allow demonstration tyres to be used for events like this. There's no rule forbidding new parts from being run in that instance anyway. Clearly these are just excuses - perhaps they're simply trying to avoid a potential repair job in the week.
Moscow is in the right general direction. Besides he goes to Melbourne every year.
He should be going to Melbourne. Would be much better news. {Comment #132}
I take it that's where you are?
Correct
I wish I just won 850,000 pounds
That's a lot of money...
I like to tell my dad that if he'd let me sign up to tennis lessons when I was 6 like I wanted to, I could be winning slams now.
:D Hi, everyone.
yo.
Gosh womens finals are so boring.
The first set was good. Second set less so.
I doubt there is anyone in the world that gets the rush of emotion with championship point that goes hand in hand with a mens final. I am torn about tomorrow to be honest, Roger getting his 15 would be lovely but it would also be nice to see Andy win after so long.
Thats why I watched the rugby. And we finally won against the South Africans
I've finally finished off the Sunday entry for my Silverstone trip. Only a fortnight after it happened...
Well, that small chance of still going to the WSR tomorrow has now vanished. Boo :(
theres something that freaks me out about twins playing doubles.
theres a dude in the Wimbledon crown in an old McLaren hat. I heart you, random spectator.
crowd rather
So monsieur Stuart C is in Porto (emptying wine cellars perhaps)? Interesting, I wanted to go but with Porto being a rather filthy hole decided to opt for Iberian GT trophy at Estoril this month and maybe Le Mans series at Portimão. Partly because I live closer to Estoril and the road is less boring.
Me, that Lada pic you found yesterday is 2110 not the Priora. 2110 was designed in the late 1980s (see - I'm a Lada expert!) and became a big hit in the former USSR republics in mid-1990s, while new production model called Priora (no idea what's that supposed to mean) uses an outdated Renault chassis and engine combined with slightly modified 2110 bodywork. Not sure what engine does WTCC Priora uses, must be some mutant version of somebody else's engine. Lada is a sad story, I personally think IRC would've suited them better.
http://www.fiawtcc.com/Read_News.asp?idNews=241
You know, that doesn't look so bad in race trim.
Ordinarily that is what would be going on...
It's a funny-looking thing. The rear quarterlight is such a slim piece of glass that you wonder why they bothered. Because it's a new car, Thompson has to carry 40kg extra. All that and 'new car' mechanical troubles too. One wag was heard to say, "Go and ask Thommo what the Russian for 's--tbox' is..."
Was the tennis any good, by the way? Apart from the result, I mean?
the last few points were ok, the rest I could've lived without seeing.
As we're often told, Mussolini got the trains running on time. Perhaps we should reanimate him and put him in charge of National Express. Getting its moribund franchise to turn a profit can surely only have required a modest extension of his enviable skill set.
Can anyone else think of any other deceased despots who could usefully be brought back into life and pressed into service?
afternoon from a very hot ad sunny rhythms of the world BBC stage
Just wandered over afvter watching the CC Smugglers on the Arcadeclectic stage, who were excellent.
lots more to come tonight and tomorrow too!.
now to fill up pn roasted cow and sheeps.
I'm sat here with my 4 WSR tickets in front of me, sore at the fact that they've now essentially gone to waste. On the bright side (I guess), I didn't have to spend any money on them. Not that that's really a consellation.
Met horner and newey. Horner was rushed but newey is a really nice guy. I congratulated him on building a non ugly 09 car.
Excellent :)
In Le Mans news, Peugeot dropped their protest against Audi.
Hmm I wonder why... ;)
The way I see it is:
Before: "We'll never win since their parts aren't legal and make their car too fast"
After: "Meh, we won. Who needs conflict?"
Indeed. Peugeot say it is because the ACO will work with them on grey areas now. There are always grey areas though, so chances are you're right.
I looked right up inside the audi, no one stopped me at all, maybe someone from pug did the same?
I agree, Lada has a model called Kalina, which looks a bit like 1990s Opel/Vauxhall Corsa, about the same size. It doesn't look as monstrous as Priora, they should've used it instead. The whole story behind Lada's participation in WTCC is a mystery to me: the Russian government bought the factory back from this guy Boris Berezovsky and his gang and tried to restore some national pride so to speak, because 1990s Ladas were simply falling apart right after leaving the conveyor belt, the quality was next to zero. Besides Lada doesn't sell cars in Western Europe as far as I'm concerned, but they do a lot within the former USSR, they had huge sales in the last 4 or 5 years, like the 4th place in the world ranking or something. This year's been a total misery, Putin had to inject muchos roubles (russian money) into Lada and they have a hefty debt towards parts suppliers. You might wonder why on Earth am I writing all this? Professional in a way, I've part-time job at a plastic injection mould factory, Lada's suppiers used to order a lot in Portugal.
Anyway, I hope it's the last race held in Porto, Portimão is the place to be and so it'll be next year.
's-tbox' in Russian should sound like 'govno', stress or emphasis is on the 1st syllable, now you can teach Thommo!
The more scientific way would be 'ga:vnoe' more or less, I don't have proper pronunciation symbols on my keyboard. A little bit of swearing but since nobody understands I hope it's OK.
Hullo. Net loads of f1 peeps today. Stilll sunburnt, but have literally hundreds of photos. But i an having the time of my life, RG will hate me for getting timo to sign a poster of him then photo. Btw adrian newey and JYS is a lovely, lovely people . Hope this message posts, damn phone
You are slipping down my favourite commentors list.
Hehe. Although id happily send it off to you if you wanted it.
What did I say earlier... ;)
Rising all the way back up
What did you say?
hehe
Hehe :) sorry, i can only see very little on my phone (i WILL get a new one this year coughiphonecough). Not f1 related but ian brabham is an absolute legend. Constantly say him with fans today and in the drivers club, he came out for ages for fans at the end of the day then around the fence to answer a disabled fan and had a long chat with her. Big respect for the amount of time he gave and whatnot :)
Good man ;)
Just a spot of Bernie news, he likes dictators(; although I think everyone else has had enough of Max).
http://www.rfi.fr/actufr/articles/115/article_82412.asp
That should be david, not ian obviously. Not sure where that came from? Anyways i shush now. See you guys soon.
See ya lukeh
Just sent an article to Puma Motorsport regarding Brawn and the temperature theory I mentioned yesterday.
And in case they don't put it on the site:
http://zerodownforce.blogspot.com/2009/07/matter-of-hot-and-cold.html
helloooo
Hey Alison, how's it going?
Good good! Trying not to go to sleep. I've got of faux-jetlag from working stupid shifts....
Ahh bad times. If it's any consellation, things aren't really that good with me either. :/
:( Sorry to hear that.
I'm plugging the F1 shaped gap in my life with my tour de france addiction! Probably not engine powered enough for any of you though.....
Only cycling I'm interested in is of the Moto GP kind.
Saw Brendon Hartley at Silverstone today! Seemed to appreciate someone knowing who he was with all these people just sticking paper under his nose to sign(as they were doing to every driver). Seems his current schedule is the season why he is no longer the Red Bull reserve driving.
Keep up the Podcasts!
Hey Ashley. Glad you seem to be enjoying Silverstone.
Unlike some people... :(
Anyone going to goodwood... Sunscreen is vital! Is there a meetup?
who mentioned goodwood?! hehe i'm going! yeah a friend was outside for a few hours and is now bright red...
I looooove cycling. Especially doing it :)
so how is everyone this evening? i've been to a lovely open air concert at my school and had such an amazing time just giggling and chatting to some lovely people :)
sounds good, it's quite a nice temp now.
i've just watched Borat because my brother is going to kazajstan...
wah wah wee wah wah
Sounds like quite the fun.
i've never had the chance to watch Borat, i hear it's a good film though.
if you over look just how racist it is, then it does have its good moments
it was amazing, lovely music, and spending the evening with my friends :) wouldn't have spent it any other way. plus i've had a rubbish day, so it's what i kinda needed :)
As you probably have seen in the comments, not happy at the fact I'm now not going to Silverstone tomorrow. :(
any reason?
i'm not going either, if thats any consellation...not that it is
Dad has a big job at Palmer Sport tomorrow so he had to cancel.
oh... i'll read back through the comments in a second. i'm sorry you're not going to Silverstone though :(
So am I. After all I did to talk it up and now I have 4 WSR tickets which are now going to go to waste. :(
I thought it was super exciting that your dad was working at Palmer Sport?
ah... well at least it's an awesome job, and i'm sure there will be plenty more opportunities to go to Silverstone for the Renault series thing. Plus think of the amazing weekend you won the other week ;)
Were you planning to take anyone outside the family?
Oh it is, don't get me wrong about that. It's good to say your dad gets paid to teach people how to drive race cars. :P
Just a shame that I went to all that trouble to apply for the tickets and now it's not gonna happen. Ah well, that pitwalk will still happen next year.
He had to work Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Bedford last week. Totally wore him out but in his words "It was worth it!"
Ah yes. Although... try reorganising a wedding three times because of motorsport!
There is so much to do there, i am completly dead, might just crash on a free grandstand for most of the day...
If we are meeting i would suggest the bottom of the sculpture at somepoint in the afternoon?
hmm...
how tough is filling in a form? ;)
Hehehe :P
Urgh, EJ on BBC News bout Bernie.
You know what I mean ;)
i'll be the girl running around with a camera in excitement with a huge smile on her face... possibly trying to find Jenson and Jules ;)
Ooh, the Tour de France started in Monaco today.
Im the half dead guy.. massive hair... big grin... camera... and beer in hand (i hope)
Well, better start looking forward to the CTL meetup in September.
I did buy a big floppy GULF hat today too... ;)
honestly i'm way too excited, no idea how i'm going to be able to sleep tonight. although i do have to get up at some ridiculous hour like 5 or 6 :(
w00t! Mock the Week is back on Thursday! :D
Its worth it!
Hey Guys,
Here are some pics taken by my mate Andy (the guy from Trinidad) at the Oasis concert last night - it was brilliant BTW :D
Apparently jenson might drive an old williams tomorrow, as he is an ex driver, and frank said any of his ex drivers could be driving anything!
i just need to make sure i find the f1 paddock, and then a good place to take photos, then i'll be fine.
..of his that is. there are loads of williams as it is their 40th anniversery
so i need to look out for his helmet then... whichever one he uses. failing that, look out for jules :D
The batching paddock has been great for seing people, although they dont seem to be signing anything there
i have enough jenson autographs now... would like a photo of him tbh ;)
i need to find the batching paddock then...
some people... !!!
:D
its on your right as you enter the f1 paddock if you come over the bridge ;)
ehehe i just have a signed cap and a signed card thing that honda sent to me... ;)
okay, i think i know where you mean. *jumps up and down* i wonder if i can persuade mum to take me now.
There is a big party there at the moment! lots of drunk drivers i expect!
mum says no :( she wants to sleep before she makes the long drive apparently. i'm just packing my bag for tomorrow. i have cameras, sun cream, money, and a huge smile on my face. not sure i need anything else?
how do you get the smile in the bag?
the cameras, tickets and the prospect of leaving the house in about 8 hours to go to goodwood puts the smile on my face... i could try and put it into my bag?...
you may have to stick your head in your bag
that would make it difficult to fit my camera in too though.
I have to wake up in nine hours... dont know if i can make it!
Trust me you will - I did it at Le Mans and I am world famous for being awful at getting up in the morning!
Well, here's one thing you guys won't see tomorrow:
http://www.autosport.com/news/grapevine.php/id/76700
okay i need sleep before i head off tomorrow morning! night all! xx
night lou
night!
G'night, enjoy it!
have lots of fun!! it's an order!!
say hi to lukeh!!
OMG I have caught up with the days comments before a new daily has gone up! Happy Independence Day to the Americans.
Ooh, that reminds me I have to write it!
am on ipod and can't sleep. i certainly will. no doubt i'll end up walking around all day with him tomorrow. he seems to know goodwood really well now, so i won't be getting lost tomorrow :D
hello......g'night all to those going off ....have a great time at GFoS those who are going......
I echo those sentiments !
Hello everybody.
Get some sleep Lou
Does anyone know if Karma Chameleon has any kind of hidden meaning?
i really can't... i'm too excited... i just see the minutes passing by and i'm just very excited... :(
Erm...
It may be wine o'clock in Sidepodcast Towers :)
I don't know if it even has an obvious meaning
You have a lot of hill to climb tomorrow and you have to get up early.
:D
Ah, that explains it :D
i know... plus i have a long journey...but i'm just buzzing with excitement.
So is this what SPC does when it's drunk - ponder the true meaning of Culture Club songs?
Think of skipping around in a field of dasies with someone you like, in your case, Jenson Button. Helps me all the time.
Obviosuly, not with Jenson Button.
We drink wine, listen to music, and laugh a lot. Life is good :)
(By the way, we are also working hard. Have banked a couple of podcasts, writing a daily post, Mr C is sorting cables and stuff. We are not just drunken fools.)
Nice to see you enjoy your life!
It's the only way :)
Hard work deserves wine. ;)

Not saying anything, could get me into a load of trouble and I'm pretty sure I will end up on the higher up naughty step.
Amen to that.
I heart laughing :D

The best we can find is that it is about the drummer. We're thinking we should draw our own conclusions.
Therefore we conclude, he accidentally killed his pet chameleon, given to him by his Bolivian friend. He is now occasionally racked with guilt.
This comment brought to you by Blossom Hill.
I prefer eating the grapes before they've been given a chance to go off. ;)
