Hey guys. Hope you have been well. I watched the race late on Sunday as I had been to a friend’s house to watch the cycling… we even got on TV :) Oh, and a McLaren won the race ;) Apparently the F1 race was quite boring but I enjoyed it.
Anyway, it was Christine’s Rankings day yesterday so make sure you check out the Driver and Team Rankings for lots of lovely links!
The McLaren boys were not the only ones building cars out of Lego – check out Ford’s effort!
Singapore looked lovely – so here are some F1 big pics and some from the Cahier Archive, who also have some great Jean Alesi pics…
Katy Peach had some friends over to watch the race and made some F1 Gingerbread men. Yum!
LookingSpiffy has been experimenting with ways to watch F1 in 2012 and this was her first experience – she had some interesting results!
Singapore was really hot and difficult too – according to the drivers.
Joe has been busy writing about a second race in the US and the very messy Lotus/Renault situation.
Apparently a Race of Champions game for the iOS is being finalised – looks good to me!
Here’s a fun game – can you guess whether these names are Drugs or Pokemon?
What do you think happens when a slinky is dropped from the air? You will be surprised!
Apparently monkeys can write Shakespeare – although the ‘monkeys’ in question are computer programs. I love what happened when they tried it with real ones – “After a month the monkeys had produced five pages of the letter "S" and had broken the keyboard.” :D
Finally this guy takes Social Networking and makes it old school. Like!
See you in the comments!
Love the slinky. I got it wrong
It's very interesting stuff!
Got 15/40 on the Drugs or Pokemon game. Some looked like names you'd expect drugs to be as well.
Think I got the same as you - very difficult!
Mika Hakkinen is 43!
I got 20. That was a good idea for a challenge. :D
Morniiiiiiiing
How well do you know your Formula 1 history?
The book That'll be the Day: 365 F1 Stories takes a look at significant moments or quirky happenings on this day in Grand Prix history. Can you guess what event the following describes?
Some guy named Felipe Massa. :D
Ahhh, Singapore 2008. Memories. :)
Listening to Rocket Man by Elton John as I read Joe's article on... rocket science.

The last paragraph confirms my very thought - Red Bull is the new Benetton. They both encountered and overcame the dilemma of asking other sponsors to cover the costs of a team owned by... what is effectively a sponsor.
Will probably end up being bought out by renault NA down the line too
Who will end up being bought back be Benetton, before Toleman stump up cash to take it back, probably with Bruno Senna's eventually child at the wheel...
Who knows? He may even win at Monaco in the wet..?
;)
Funnily enough, both teams were significantly helped by Ford in their formative years (Benetton because they wanted a US presence, Red Bull through their predecessors Stewart and Jaguar), but both achieved their biggest successes with Renault (notwithstanding the title Benetton won with Ford power in 94).
Ironically Stewart really got going by moving to Egham which is Ferrari's spirtual home in the UK
Not forgetting a potentially illegal electronics unit on board Schuey's green and blue charger.
;)
Morning all! I'm a bit... bleary-eyed today! I made a mini Felipe comic in the middle of the night http://t.co/djmAPl0j
Saw it, loved it.
:)
if they end up being bought they will have to start paying for the Red Bull logos again. if they keep winning and keep owning the team they may soon get to the stage of having the Red Bull logo on the cars for free :-) so why sell ? :-)
re that Singha sponsor - I am not 100% sure but isn't there some connection between Singha Beer and that Thai bloke who owns half the Red Bull ?
same reason Benetton sold out too - they lost interest.
I believe you're right.
yes, but a difference is Benetton is fashion brand, Red Bull is action brand
If they are too successful in F1 i think they will lose interest
seriously ?? where abouts ? I think I would have known about this if that was the case ??
saying that.. I did see an enzo filling up at a petrol station there once...

It has taken nearly a week but NASA now knows where the bits of the UARS satellite landed. Despite all the people who claimed to see it burning up over Canada NASA says it is in the south Pacific. Not much difference then
