Well, the big news is all about Williams, of course, but until we start to see reactions from the other teams, or find out more about what FOTA discussed in their meetings today, we have little else to go on. Therefore we are discussing other things:

  • Yesterday's Circuit Cup saw Spa thoroughly trounce Silverstone in the first round - I was expecting it to be much closer than it was. Singapore had almost double the votes of Sepang as well. Today's vote pitches some more top tracks against each other including Albert Park, and Barcelona.
  • If you haven't quite got Monaco out of your system yet, the Beeb's Jake Humphrey has posted some photos and videos from his weekend there. My personal favourite is the idea of Jake working hard, whilst Eddie and David lounge about, perusing their scripts.
  • We finally managed to catch up with Joe for this week's Aside with Joe show. I say 'we' but I am not featured in the show. You won't miss me though, because there is plenty of good stuff to listen out for. While we're at it, a quick plug for Joe's thoughts on Williams - because if we're not talking about it, someone has to!

That's all for now. Don't feel constrained by what I've mentioned above (and you can talk about Williams really). As normal, I'll see you in the comments.

Doesn't look like I missed much coming out of FOTA, nothing coming out of them at the end of the day?

Before the drinks hot me, one of my friends who listens to American radio (country music is better that way apparently) played me a clip of a guy with a massive southern drawl phoning in to request johnny cash's 'cry, cry cry' in response to Ferrari's withdrawal threat in F1. I was first shocked at the fact a guy from that part of the world was watching F1, and secondly how well the lyrics fit the situation last week. I'll try and get the clip off him and put it on the drop, but here is the song.

My Grand Prix 2 thing, which driver should I be? I was thinking Brundle (yeah, not the tub) in the McLaren. And with regards to the other teams strengths, I think random would be best, instead of everyone being the same or at 94 levels. Would it?

  • Dan Brunell27/05/2009 at 23:45

Could someone explain to me what can FOTA do to Williams? What does this suspension entail? A supension from FOTA seems as useless as a UN resolution.

  • Steven Roy27/05/2009 at 23:53

It simply means they won't be invited to FOTA meetings and their people will be excluded from having input in the various working groups. THe whole suspensin thing as far as I can see is aimed at Max to let him know that FOTA hasn't crumbled because one member has signed up for the championship.

I think it is probably best to discuss this when a lot of people are around to get more ideas.

  • Bassano Clapper27/05/2009 at 23:55

I think it's another calculated step, Williams 'agreeing' to a suspension because they had no choice but to sign up and FOTA can appear united again

Once the 2010 regs are settled Williams be be back on board

Cresent Street. It's where all the street parties are/were for the F1 weekend. Also look up a band called This Side Up (there is a promo on youtube for them). Jaques Villenueve has a bistro on Cresent. Also if you like gambling, the casino on Ille Notre Dame is very nice

I don't care what they think, but I would just rather people didn't comment on my appearance. They also keep a sharp watch on the colours I wear, because apparently I wear a lot of black. It's always a big deal if I come to work in a green top. Shock, horror, etc.

Not a big fan of color, then? ;) But seriously, why do people comment about it, anyway? We usually don't comment about those kinds of things - unless everyone wears the same color by accident - which is very cool or embarrassing, depending on who does it. :D

Unreadable. The typical "What's the point of F1" journo who just writes about how rubbish the sport is and then goes back to writing some crap about Football.

We got that a lot in NZ and you get sick of it very quickly...

Unreadable. The typical “What’s the point of F1?journo who just writes about how rubbish the sport is and then goes back to writing some crap about Football.

We got that a lot in NZ and you get sick of it very quickly…

To be sure, it's rather exaggerated. But somewhere in that piece, he actually makes a pretty good point. Too bad it has to be buried underneath all the tosh...

    I’d love to go this year, but none of my friends are prepared to pay for general admission {Comment #56}

I didn't even know there was any general admission still available - the site claimed Silverstone had sold out when I bought my tickets, otherwise I'd have had general admission.

Oh, and apparently, Brawn have another new front wing ready for Turkey. I'm amazed they can keep up this pace of development - especially when one considers that there will be a whole raft of changes coming in for Germany.

one of my friends who listens to American radio (country music is better that way apparently) played me a clip of a guy with a massive southern drawl phoning in to request johnny cash’s ‘cry, cry cry’ in response to Ferrari’s withdrawal threat in F1. I was first shocked at the fact a guy from that part of the world was watching F1, and secondly how well the lyrics fit the situation last week.

    the song is eerily dead-on...

Does anyone know of a similar UK store?

I like how on autosport they're reporting that Brawn are set to over jenson a new 3 year deal to stop him moving and to stop teams picking him up for a stupid amount of money, yet I'd easily class him as the most loyal driver on the grid to his team no matter the money involved. Just makes me smile I suppose :)

  • Christine28/05/2009 at 10:54

For Christine ... although it's a little gross on describing the method of making Baby Pandas...

I don't understand how pandas can still be endangered when there are so many baby ones.

  • Lukeh28/05/2009 at 10:55

Also, fom that Jenson article I mention, Nick Fry says

"We are using our money wisely, and that means spending money on the performance of the car and, for example, the whole team including Ross and I flying Easyjet."

I'd love to see Flav squirm with us normal people on Easyjet :D

yet I'd easily class him as the most loyal driver on the grid to his team no matter the money involved.

    period of his career?

  • Lukeh28/05/2009 at 10:56

    period of his career?

True but I was meaning more since he's joined up with honda and took a huge pay cut to stay when he could've easily moved for a confirmed drive

  • Jon Waldock28/05/2009 at 10:58

True but I was meaning more since he's joined up with honda and took a huge pay cut to stay when he could've easily moved for a confirmed drive

hmm, i wouldn't class him as the most loyal. like 'me' says, the williams thing really screwed him over at the time, and i don't think him staying at brawn would be loyal, more it being the easiest decision he's ever made in his life

  • me28/05/2009 at 10:59

True but I was meaning more since he's joined up with honda and took a huge pay cut to stay when he could've easily moved for a confirmed drive

hmm. my guess is he saw the numbers coming out of the windtunnel and decide they were better than anything STR could offer. not sure that's really what i'd call loyalty.

the real test will be if ferrari come knocking. an alonso/button partnership would be rather mega.

  • me28/05/2009 at 11:00

hmm, i wouldn't class him as the most loyal. like 'me' says, the williams thing really screwed him over at the time, and i don't think him staying at brawn would be loyal, more it being the easiest decision he's ever made in his life

  • Lukeh28/05/2009 at 11:00

if flav is to be believed (bare with me) that could've happened this year. Although in an average car of course.

I think Buemi's was, but not sure about Bourdais

  • me28/05/2009 at 11:01

my recollection is hazy, but bourdais' confirmation came very late. so many there was one seat free?

  • Lukeh28/05/2009 at 11:01

They were the last team to confirm their drivers as far as I remember? Not sure

    true enough.

if flav is to be believed (bare with me) that could've happened this year. Although in an average car of course.

i think once he knew Brawn would take part in some way that wasnt a hard decision either

  • lou28/05/2009 at 11:06

    period of his career?

he could have given up on the team though, when it seemed they were only capable of producing rotten cars. I think he has been pretty loyal in the sense that in interviews he has always said that his desire was to help be apart of honda and help to make them be a winning team. Funnily enough he said that last year in monaco i believe. However what he said to the press back then and what he actually said to the team behind closed doors or whatever could be very different.

  • lou28/05/2009 at 11:07

my recollection is hazy, but bourdais' confirmation came very late. so many there was one seat free?

I believe both STR seats were confirmed before Brawn GP were announced, cause i remember getting very worried that Jenson really wouldn't have anywhere else to go. Then suddenly like a month later Brawn GP were announced.

  • Flabbergash28/05/2009 at 11:09

I guess there's only a couple of people who know the real story

  • me28/05/2009 at 11:09

he could have given up on the team though, when it seemed they were only capable of producing rotten cars.

there was a time, after the legal arguments, when no other team boss wanted him.

people said he was untrustworthy and didn't respect his contracts (and often worse). if he'd have given up on bar/honda, it's very possible he would've had to give up on f1 in the process.

i had a lot of respect for jenson's driving, but i wouldn't trust him as far as i could throw him.

  • lou28/05/2009 at 11:11

the real test will be if ferrari come knocking. an alonso/button partnership would be rather mega.

I can see Jenson signing another three year contract with Brawn GP tbh, Ross Brawn is there (obviously) and at the moment it seems like the sensible place to stay. If they aren't able to produce a good car next year for some reason and if Ferrari come knocking then, it may be easier for him to leave them though.

Actually i'm not sure they will want Jenson, aren't the main rumours that they will want Alonso and Vettel at some point..

  • me28/05/2009 at 11:12

I guess there's only a couple of people who know the real story

we know he has previous, when it comes to contract wrangles. i guess the question is do we think he learnt anything from those two very public battles?

  • me28/05/2009 at 11:13

Actually i'm not sure they will want Jenson, aren't the main rumours that they will want Alonso and Vettel at some point..

button's driving better than vettel at the moment, but vettel's younger. tough call i guess.

  • Jon Waldock28/05/2009 at 11:13

I can see Jenson signing another three year contract with Brawn GP tbh, Ross Brawn is there (obviously) and at the moment it seems like the sensible place to stay.

If he doesn't and they keep on winning, i'm going to laugh ALOT

It dosent seem like a hard decision tbh

  • Flabbergash28/05/2009 at 11:13

Probably. I'd do a crap job in a crap car for £4 mill a year, tbh.

  • lou28/05/2009 at 11:13

people said he was untrustworthy and didn't respect his contracts (and often worse). if he'd have given up on bar/honda, it's very possible he would've had to give up on f1 in the process.

i swear he said in an interview that after the 2007 season he was offered a contract with someone... i can't for the life of me remember who it was though... but he decided to stay with honda. although i can bet that was probably due to the fact honda were offering him more money than the other team were...

i had a lot of respect for jenson's driving, but i wouldn't trust him as far as i could throw him.

    fair enough lol

  • Christine28/05/2009 at 11:14

button's driving better than vettel at the moment, but vettel's younger. tough call i guess.

Vettel would be more mouldable. If they're getting the experience in Alonso, then they could train Seb up how they like him. But do Ferrari really do young drivers?

  • me28/05/2009 at 11:14

It dosent seem like a hard decision tbh

brawn has proven his worth time and again. i think ferrari have the muscle to out develop him though, and next year the rules are likely to remain stable (fota battles pending). if that's the case, i'd rather be at ferrari.

  • lou28/05/2009 at 11:15

Vettel would be more mouldable. If they're getting the experience in Alonso, then they could train Seb up how they like him. But do Ferrari really do young drivers?

they've managed to train up massa pretty well considering how he used to drive...

I think it all depends on the budgets for next year and rules. If theres a budget cap i'd want to be at Brawn but if not then i'd rather be at Ferrari

  • Lukeh28/05/2009 at 11:16

from what we know he seems pretty good at that. Take last year for example. In Australia Nick Fry basically said to Ted that they were finalising contracts... then it turned out at the end of the year that Button had only just signed another contract with the team. I should have thought the same thing will happen this year too.

they've managed to train up massa pretty well considering how he used to drive...

That's because they kept saying to him "Felipe Baby, stay cool! We're in a good position!"

Sorry, too easy that one! :)

  • Christine28/05/2009 at 11:50

That's because they kept saying to him "Felipe Baby, stay cool! We're in a good position!"

My brother text me recently and said I was evil as he would have that song in his head all week.

He doesn't even like F1, god knows how he found it.

D'oh, I just got this email from one of the 4 lecturers who have attempted to teach us 15 weeks of operating systems but only managed 4 or 5:

"Your exam is tomorrow morning remember, 9:30.

revise up on operating systems and their components"

    Yeah... we guessed that

  • me28/05/2009 at 12:40

aww, it isn't that b... no, wait it is that bad. There is no justifiable reasoning.

the concept is okay, i object to the judges. surely a prerequisite for judging a talent content must be to have some kind of discernible talent?

  • Lukeh28/05/2009 at 12:40

Just to say, the exam is for the module 'Operating Systems', hence why the email seems very obvious :P

Is it a media thing to only give the home url of your site? The Beeb always say /radio1 or whatever, even if it's a specific show. James Allen always seems to link to the homepage.

this is the more interesting line:

"There are not too many obvious alternatives, although someone like Timo Glock might fit the bill quite well. However he is known to be on Mercedes hit list for the McLaren team as a possible replacement for Kovalainen."

wasn't aware of that one, but i could see it working well.

    Hmm... Two problems:

    (1) He's German, not Finnish, and

    (2) He might actually be able to beat Lewis

Having said that, I wouldn't mind seeing it as he's wasting his talents in the Corolla at the back of the grid...

  • me28/05/2009 at 13:23

    (1) He's German, not Finnish, and

    1) good point

    2) no chance. the team will make sure he's heavier in every qually session.

  • Amy28/05/2009 at 13:23

And it's probably best to have the opposition teams performance at random, rather than 94 levels or all the same?

Wish I hadn't lost GP3.Or even better, I wish my pc could run GP4 even semi-decently.

    :D

  • Lukeh28/05/2009 at 14:47

Well, a set of rules have been agreed between FOTA it would seem.

    http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/75662

FOTA is pushing for a "glidepath" approach to adopting the budget cap regulations, with a two-step reduction in expenditure in 2010 and 2011.

This would see expenditure limited to €100 million in 2010, dropping to €45 for the following season.

Now it's just a matter of presenting it to the FIA and a compromise between the two I assume.

  • Christine28/05/2009 at 14:49

This would see expenditure limited to €100 million in 2010, dropping to €45 for the following season.

That sounds like what Mosley was hinting at in Monaco, so they might be agreeable.

  • Flabbergash28/05/2009 at 14:53

Tbh I think we'll have the same thing happen next year, FOTA disagreeing, etc.

  • Lukeh28/05/2009 at 14:55

Tbh I think we'll have the same thing happen next year, FOTA disagreeing, etc.

This reminds me, I know the medals/points system isn't in effect next season but what did the FIA rule changes state when they published them, that they had been pushed back to 2011 or that they had been suspended from being used?

It was one or the other but it has fallen out of my mind which...

This reminds me, I know the medals/points system isn't in effect next season but what did the FIA rule changes state when they published them, that they had been pushed back to 2011 or that they had been suspended from being used?

they said it was a mistake to publish them. not gonna happen.

  • Lukeh28/05/2009 at 15:03

Ahh, thought as much. Good stuff :)

  • me28/05/2009 at 15:03

FOTA is pushing for a "glidepath" approach to adopting the budget cap regulations, with a two-step reduction in expenditure in 2010 and 2011.

This would see expenditure limited to €100 million in 2010, dropping to €45 for the following season.

that sounds much more sensible. and thankfully screws lightspeeds chance in the process.

This reminds me, I know the medals/points system isn't in effect next season but what did the FIA rule changes state when they published them, that they had been pushed back to 2011 or that they had been suspended from being used?

There was an article that I read somewhere else that suggested that quite oddly it might be closer this season if we had the medals system.

It is conceivable (but perhaps unlikely) right now that one of the teams could blast past Brawn and win a bunch of races. But even if this happens they can't now really win the season because all they will do is push Brawn into third and fourth. And that isn't enough of a points attrition rate. You're only gaining a few points per race. But under the medals system each race you win denies the other winner from winning. So it's a much larger swing.

I'm not supporting the medals system, far from it, but I hadn't quite recognised that it might well be closer under that system than under the points system.

Well, yes, to a certain extent. But I really think Red Bull will give them a fight in Turkey and Britain. Only to fade away again in Germany, but that's not until July.

Even so, less politics, more racing = very good.

I think they have the money and sponsors (Here is a link to their sponsors, many have been with Penske for more than a decade.) LINK: http://www.penskeracing.com/sponsors) if they want to go into Formula One, I think it is more of a question of will. Roger Penske was left with a bad taste in his mouth from his experience in the sport from the late 70's. He isn't a flashy guy, he just gets results and enjoys working with the team in the garage. I really doubt we will see them back in Formula One unless there is a dramatic change in the sport.

Besides if he wants to get into the sport, he could always buy out or support Ken Anderson. The two go way back.

your computer lesson for the day...

when removing a laptop battery for the purposes of cooling, always remember to ensure the power cord is plugged in. else said laptop may suddenly go quiet. very quiet.

mr. c... making mistakes so you don't have to.

    Haha :D

So so so so many times i've done that, then get wondering if anything wrong with the battery, then look at the laptop and realise, slowly followed by a facepalm

I personally don't rate Sugar, he is a reasonably good businessman*, but he seems to jump out of the way every time one of his business could start making crazy money.

Williams has had an under the table deal definitely. They produce cars for the new F2 and are the first to enter F1 for 2010. I honestly can't blame them, but surely these new teams should be forced to develop F2 cars for a few years as they build up a stockpile of money before entering F1?

Add to that the issue of standard KERS and I think we will see some kind of special deal come out for them...

I don't think Bernie cares about the future - he's worried about how it looks now. There are some checks I think about a company's assets and things because they don't want teams coming in and going broke and making the sport look worse. I agree with you but when few people want to enter, he's really not going to put two big dudes at the front door who say "not in those shoes"

If he'd checked out Simon Gillett properly he may not have given Donington the British GP...

yeah i now, but it's hard not to think back to a team i really don't think i ever knew much about - think 97 was a non-F1 year for me - too busy at uni.

yeah i have... no idea what that may mean for tomorrow... we'll go anyway and hope for the best...

  • Jon Waldock28/05/2009 at 19:55

That is a very good doco on Jordan by the way.

if you search around you'll find the other parts of it

  • Lukeh28/05/2009 at 19:55

That is a very good doco on Jordan by the way.

That did look good, what is it called?

  • Jon Waldock28/05/2009 at 19:55

yeah i have... no idea what that may mean for tomorrow... we'll go anyway and hope for the best...

    go REALLY early

  • RG28/05/2009 at 19:55

"Sources close to the team have indicated that they have the resources for the 2010 season stating that there is a mysterious 'Mr. C' who spearheading the project."

"An unknown backer, belived to be an unknown author who likes flowery cocktails, is set to finance the team."

  • Jon Waldock28/05/2009 at 19:56

That did look good, what is it called?

    Driving Ambission i believe

    I've seen the other parts.

That did look good, what is it called?

    'Driving Ambition'

  • lou28/05/2009 at 19:57

    go REALLY early

well doors open at 6:45, and we were planning to get there around then/ just before anyways. We are going up early afternoon to spend some time in London so we will try and be as early as possible i think....

  • Lukeh28/05/2009 at 19:57

    Driving Ambission i believe

Should've guessed from the Youtobe video title really... d'oh :P

  • Gavin Brown (RubberGoat)28/05/2009 at 19:57

    I've seen the other parts.

I should say that I hadn't seen that part as it was missing!

  • me28/05/2009 at 19:59

I have a SidepodPrank idea. If I write and send off an offical looking press release stating that Sidepodcast is deciding whether to place a bid for the 2010 season, would GMM pick it up?

we decided we could get as much publicity by saying we weren't going to sign up.

  • Gavin Brown (RubberGoat)28/05/2009 at 20:01

we decided we could get as much publicity by saying we weren't going to sign up.

    How so?

  • Steven Roy28/05/2009 at 20:01

yeah i have... no idea what that may mean for tomorrow... we'll go anyway and hope for the best...

Probably best to go anyway. If you phone to check and they are trying to reduce numbers you are guaranteed to lose out. I guess it is important that you are not last in the queue

  • me28/05/2009 at 20:02

    How so?

f3 teams keep getting onto autosports homepage by saying the rumours about them signing up to f1 are greatly exaggerated.

  • Steven Roy28/05/2009 at 20:02

"An unknown backer, belived to be an unknown author who likes flowery cocktails, is set to finance the team."

I like that. An individual with an interest in specialist premium drinks

  • Pat W28/05/2009 at 20:03

I have my hair in pigtails like Heidi. It wasn't a good idea.

For a second there I wondered when Nick Heidfeld had his hair in pigtails...

    I'm not obsessed with F1.

  • Steven Roy28/05/2009 at 20:03

we decided we could get as much publicity by saying we weren't going to sign up.

    I forgot about that

  • Gavin Brown (RubberGoat)28/05/2009 at 20:04

    How so?

f3 teams keep getting onto autosports homepage by saying the rumours about them signing up to f1 are greatly exaggerated.

Well RubberGoat Racing decided to stand firm with FOTA and not enter into the championship.

  • Steven Roy28/05/2009 at 20:05

Mr C did you see the comment about 3 am this morning from someone saying he was having problems with the daily feeds? I told him to e-mail you.

I haven't checked back through the comments yet.

  • Dan Brunell28/05/2009 at 20:13

...we at Sidepodcast has / have decided not to lodge an entry into the 2010 Championship...

So is Sidepodcast a singular or a plural... and remember, Christine will read this later.

  • me28/05/2009 at 20:14

So is Sidepodcast a singular or a plural... and remember, Christine will read this later.

    now there is a question.

  • Steven Roy28/05/2009 at 20:15

So is Sidepodcast a singular or a plural... and remember, Christine will read this later.

The comment says WE at sidepodcast.

    Suggests plural to me

  • me28/05/2009 at 20:17

    Suggests plural to me

    agreed.

  • Lukeh28/05/2009 at 20:17

    now there is a question.

I hear they're writing another addition to the Hitchiker's Guide series of books. Perhaps this will be the ultimate question, far more important than "What is the answer to life, the universe and everything?" me thinks.

  • Dan Brunell28/05/2009 at 20:18

The comment says WE at sidepodcast.

    Suggests plural to me

So the haves have it over the have nots who are also known as the has.

  • Steven Roy28/05/2009 at 20:19

I hear they're writing another addition to the Hitchiker's Guide series of books. Perhaps this will be the ultimate question, far more important than "What is the answer to life, the universe and everything?" me thinks.

Douglas Adams is a bit dead to be writing a follow up to the previous 5

  • Lukeh28/05/2009 at 20:19

The only one who knows the question to the answer of Life, Universe and Everything now that Douglas is dead is Stephen Fry.

    He's not telling though.

  • Steven Roy28/05/2009 at 20:20

I know, someone else is doing it.

    Noooooooooooooooo!

That is such an enormous mistake and I refuse to ever read it

  • Christine28/05/2009 at 20:21

So is Sidepodcast a singular or a plural... and remember, Christine will read this later.

Surely it is the same as any entity? If you are talking about the thing itself, it is a singular. If you are talking about the people that work there, then they are plural.

  • Steven Roy28/05/2009 at 20:22

The only one who knows the question to the answer of Life, Universe and Everything now that Douglas is dead is Stephen Fry.

The question was in one of he later episodes of the book. The question, the ultimate question of life, the univers and everything is

What is 9 times 6? I am sure that was in the film too.

  • Lukeh28/05/2009 at 20:22

That is such an enormous mistake and I refuse to ever read it

I'm 50/50 between not giving it a chance because it's not Adams but at the same time intruiged to see how the author handles it.

    See here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/7619828.stm

Thats the correct question to the incorrect answer...

It's round about here that it helps to get very drunk to follow it. :D

If that is true then who on earth is handling Douglas' estate?

If that is true then who on earth is handling Douglas' estate?

Based on the article I just posted, I'm assuming his wife. She allowed them to write a 6th book at least, and chose Eoin Colfer.

Robert Ludlum apparently wrote a lot of manuscripts before he died. These were finished by other people and released as books...

    I entered too. Just because

  • Jon Waldock28/05/2009 at 20:51

Right, some exciting news from the school of 'if you don't ask, you won't get!'

I've just had an email from the organisers of the 2CV 24 hour race at Snetterton in August to say that i will be on the pitlane reporting/commentary team. I'll be working with some real pro's and am SO excited!! :D

  • Pat W28/05/2009 at 20:51

I don't care what they think, but I would just rather people didn't comment on my appearance. They also keep a sharp watch on the colours I wear, because apparently I wear a lot of black. It's always a big deal if I come to work in a green top. Shock, horror, etc.

The females at college were talking about this last week, how women at work pick them up on the slightest thing..

The males found it most bizarre.

Wearing black.. I will be disappointed if I read on and nobody did a Tremayning joke..

  • Bassano Clapper28/05/2009 at 20:51

Welcome to everyday for me! :D

But we know that your skill set lies in graphics ;)

Hey Scott... Just a thought here... Jon's gone to a bit of effort to make this happen. Do you not think it would be an idea to approach things from your own perspective rather than using someone else's approach? You never know, you might discover other opportunities and learn a lot more that way...

I knew there was something I was supposed to do. OK there are at least two dozen things I am supposed to do but I will do that.

You have a point. I'm not saying I'm gonna use the exact same approach. I just want some advice and then I'll go about it my own way. :)

the concept is okay, i object to the judges. surely a prerequisite for judging a talent content must be to have some kind of discernible talent?

The lengths I go to for F1 games. I'm trying to run GP2edit, an editor for GP2, but it won't run in DOSBox(says I it only works with Windows 3.1 or higher) or with the compatibility wizard., so I've just found Windows 3.1 for Virtual PC. But, the guide I'm using to run 3.1 on DOSBox looks quite complicated, so......I'll see how it goes.

I am terrified. Federer isn't even Finnish. What is she thinking?

  • Pat W28/05/2009 at 22:16

Dallara would be an interesting one, they'd no doubt build a solid car, if a littl slow at first, but not sure what the team would be like because they don't race cars, only build them

I'd love Lola or Dallara to enter but the problem for me is they specialise in building spec cars to a budget. I'm not sure they can do open tech. Maybe they suggested the cap..

  • Bassano Clapper28/05/2009 at 22:17

Sir Alan is a comedy genius but he always looks like he's wearing gloves connected with string that's just a little too short!

  • Bassano Clapper28/05/2009 at 22:54

I am still intrigued why randoms want to follow me on Twitter

So glad they have to ask permission, otherwise it'd be like the school bus journey all over again. The town fuitloop sat next to me far too many times

    [There were several]

Ah. Will have to figure something else out then. Perhaps the good old-fashioned postal service can help :)

    no. Was using another method...

    no. Was using another method...

If the large file size is being a problem (with BT or other) RS is not a bad option. If required I could host on personal drop.io for a short while

I wonder IF EJ would be tempted to come back to a low cost version of the sport… {Comment #517

He tried in 2008 but I think he may be slightly busy as a BBC pundit to be attempting to build up a team. Remember that like most of the new teams, he doesn't have an F1-spec factory yet...

    Or Stoddy *shudders* {Comment #519}

No. He said that if Mosley didn't leave he would, so presumably Paul is out of the running until at least next year on the grounds of not getting on with the current administration...

Paul's airline just went bust the other day so he may not really be concentrating on F1 at the moment.
