Wow, is it Sunday already? Goodness me this weekend is flying by! Firstly, apologies that this daily is a little late I got a little held up watching Muse’s Glastonbury set.. they were very impressive! I’d totally recommend taking a look at the highlights of the set when they appear on the BBC Glastonbury site . Whether or not you’ve been watching the various performances from the festerval so far I’m sure you’ll agree this weekend has been crazily busy! There certainly isn’t a shortage of things to talk about, but just in case you need reminding or some light relief, on with the bullet points!
- Firstly hopefully you’ve all noticed the very awesome updates that have been brought into ye not so olde comments by now, and the other day Mr C introduced a great notifications service for Chrome users. Well, he’s worked yet more magic and we now have a revised factbyte factbox, beautiful isn’t it? Biiiiggg thank you to Mr C for doing yet more awesome coding for us! While we’re talking about the awesome creators of our beloved site, welcome home from your mini holiday Christine!
- I’ve already mentioned that this weekend has been very busy, well it’s not about get any less hectic I’m afraid, for today is also a packed day! Due to the timings of the Grand Prix and various motorsport events , Giggles Radio has moved from its regular slot to 10am, yes that’s right 10am. The perfect way to start the day I’m sure you’ll agree. This week’s letter is ‘S’ I believe so don’t miss it – remember.. it starts at 10am.
- I’m sure those who have been around in the comments recently will know I’m not exactly a fan of football, but with this being a rest day for the all the tennis action at Wimbledon, even I can’t ignore there is a pretty important match that’s happening just after the chequered flag falls in Valencia. Yes that’s right, England are playing again... So why not get out your England flags and shirts and settle down with the comments to watch it?
- Not a fan of the football? Don’t worry, you can always catch up on Dr Who. What an amazing finale we were blessed with. Don’t believe me? See for yourself.
Alternatively, you could always do you’re shopping during the match? It’s always empty when there is an important football game on! Right, I think that’s probably enough to sink your teeth into today, if you servive the epic day of sport, radio, and more Glastonbury then you might be wondering how on earth you’re going to fill your next weekend. If this is the case, then I have a suggestion. Have a lovely day.. oh and remember Giggles radio is at 10am!
phew... hello Sunday
(hugs) lou
i even wrote about football.. am practising..
Great daily Lou
squeee! happy, happy :)
ref: the new factbyte factbox. i was checking our countdown against other sites, and noticed the force india team think the race starts four and a half hours after everybody else: http://www.forceindiaf1.com/
that explains sooo much.
Yeah love it. I had better sleep. Thanks everyone for an awesome time in the comments for the Muse concert :D
Ta for finding space for the plug :)
Speaking of the Glastonbury website, I'm loving Immie at the mo
http://www.bbc.co.uk/glastonbury/2010/artists/imogenheap/
:D
hi everyone,
I have just discovered that one of my friends snuck out of someone's wedding this evening to go home and watch dr who :/
proper dedication
Mr C, i just had a thought... you know that schdule you did last night?.. you are put down to writing the tennis on the same monday/ tuesday as me..
are you aware Wimbledon is only a 2 week event?... it's over next Sunday.
sneaky mr c.
woah!
W E I R D
so how is everyone on this warn saturday night/ sunday morning?
Hi
wow
Hey Leigh, i'm very warm. how are you?
Yeah I'm not sure they're going to be invited to anymore events....
not too bad - slightly irritated, but generally adding to my overall meh-ness
No way can I make it to Wednesday without a day off :( :(
I went to a University Open day today to look at their journalism course, but was crushed to find out in the "Finance guide" that I can't apply for tuition fee support
:(
Somewhat gutted and jammed in a corner...
:( I'm sorry. It's very expensive isn't it.... Why can't you have the loan?
I did a top-up year here years ago; however despite never applying/claiming tuition support before (I self-funded my entire stint in Uni, hence my current poorness), I'm automatically ruled out on the basis that I did a top-up
it all seems a bit silly to be honest
Excuse my ignorance but what's a top-up?
I studied for years in Ireland, but to get a full degree accreditation, I had to take one year in the UK; hence my current predicament
Oh I see. You already have a degree then? That's why you can't have any funding. I only need to find a year's worth of money before I can go back but that's bad enough....
Yep - in Music Industry Management.
A long story short - after years of being stamped on in the music industry, I have grown somewhat "tired" as it were; so I've been exploring my joint passion of writing / covering stories, etc...
(I also have music website as well as the F1 blog)
Not wishing to appear selfish, but it's just the direction my life has gone... so I may see if I can possibly sort out work experience of some sort and keep writing, while I save like a demon
No no not at all. I'm only allowed to have 2 more years of funding ever. That's quite scary. I need to save up and go back before the government go mad and quadruple the price.
right, for some reason i decided it was a good idea to write Monday's Wimbledon post now.. so that's all finished and scheduled.
and now... i sleep (or try to in this heat!! :( )
night all! xx
night lou
:)
i had no idea. i better do one this week.
same person.
different person.
:)
10/10 lou. cheers.
aye - amazing the way life can change over the course of a decade
:)
to be honest, mine changes year-on-year. never mind every decade :)
i'm not quite that fluid, but i do a lot as it were, but to be honest i was never destined for office life
:D
my favourite picture from the bbc: http://twitpic.com/20ancq
even the flightcase with muse lettering is reversed. how did they think we wouldn't notice?
silly, silly bbc
:D
only watching qually now - are these tableless press conferences a permanent feature now??
horrible, aren't they? just wait until a driver has an "itch".
baffling!
and on that note, i'll see you for giggles radio at 10am. look after the place, pls ;)
it just doesn't look relaxed - the drivers might get used to it and relax eventually, but it just looks awkward
fancy an awkward press conference?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2a3X7VdzNw - skip to about 3 minutes in
:)
Morning everyone :)
hOLA
ooh caps fail
tHATS oK
iS IT OPPOSITE dAY?
I hope not :)
may I just say, early Giggles Radio is the best thing. ever.
tHIS IS NOT easy on an IpAD
An almost parade lap
We had friends over last night and they too were saying, "why can't you do Giggles Radio at 10 every week".
The problem is you can't please all the people all of the time!
#dontpanicChristine
Do you do request? I am ironing shirts again. Last time was fun, with steam deciders and everything
It is funny to be doing a pre-race show... But it will be a Giggles Radio show not a Parade Lap... I need my co-hosts for a Parade Lap really.
well if I lived where you live and it was at 10 I would miss it every week because I tend to wake up about 1 on Sundays so you're right there :D
Will still be good to set the mood
I hope so :)
Actually you might need to keep going for the boring bits of the race too....
I think that describes most of my audience :)
Notice that I am talking exclusively to people on the other side of the world right now :)
Not surprised. I was kupnwell after 10am this morning :-)
Kupnwell? iPad fail
Ha. BTCC on the Telly here. Always good for a laugh
Morning :)
I forgot FR again. Actually I forgot there is even a race this weekend. *ashamed*
Gosh! Having fun in Iceland?
Gah! Why can't shirts iron themselves? They just keep coming!!
Funnily enough I was talking about Iceland just last night as my friend who came over was saying that he'd just re-caught up with our icelandic friend last week.
I have a radical solution for you.... Buy non-iron shirts...
you can get them?!
Yes! I'm 4 days into my 10 days trip around Iceland. Lou should never come here she wouldn't get 10m. Sooo many pretty things that deserved to be photographed...
That's what I wear... You have to take the shirts out of the washing machine and hang them on hangers the instant the washing cycle finishes but it means no ironing.
Why wasn't I told?I'm going shopping tomorrow
The Edge has a lot to answer for.
What did he do?
U2 guitarist?
Woke me up.
just him? Was Bono there?
I think Bono has hurt his back.
Was Mr C playing the Edge's music too loud?
http://sidepodcast.com/2010/06/26/daily-26th-june-2010/comments/#comment-824842
Did he hurt it in a trying to get the Edge to keep it down incident?
:)
ahh.... Mr C can't really control himself in that kind of situation can he... What with all the whooping and the hollaring...
If he was sleeping late today, I'd put some Backstreet Boys on loud. Not much whooping and hollaring to be done there, but still.
All that dancing can be quite annoying though.
#sorryamyaandchristine
Don't forget to vote on my headers if you haven't already: http://smarterthanyouraverage.com/2010/06/26/headers-1-10-you-decide/

amy and I decided this is the ideal time ;-)
Alex! Will this work on my iPad or do I need to fire up the laptop?
yep, 7pm giggles radio is ace :D
I think it will work on the iPad... Mr C did get it to work before.
Wow I got up! Hey all!

you're up early, early radio is obviously good for us
i need red bull
Lou! Are you photographing good wood this year?
i have a salad :D
I have a Shiraz-Grenache ?
of course, it wouldn't be goodwill if I didn't take my cameras :)
I wish I had a Bubble O'Bill because someone just mentioned them on Facebook. I don't think I've had one for at least a decade.
excellent! Next best thing to going
I miss red bull :( I haven't had any in weeks!!
aw :)
The Superleague coverage just started, if people are capable of multi-tasking.
On behalf of my much loved band and Mr Edge, I apologise for them being so awesome. So very, very awesome.

I was going to say 'aww, they all miss Heikki' but John wouldn't have been at McLaren when Heikki was so I have no explanation for their visit :D
alex on the ground:
Paddock walk over, saw the bbc guys, heikki, sutil, webber, and dominicali - result! ;-) back to the stands for me now
maybe he wanted to some relief from THAT woman?
could they be showing jake the rest of the paddock?
"come with us jakey, the small teams aren't scary, honest"
is he gonna hang with us in Spa? We felt rejected by him in Australia :(
you saw him?
no, but he didn't come to any of the well-publicised sidepodmeetups. We kinda thought he might.
no idea, i shall tweet now.
please note in advance, my next tweet in no way commits me/us to going to spa, i just have to work with 140 chars :)

he clearly didn't learn from the last race.
Jenson & lewis on the drivers parade just sang happy birthday to massa, only it went 'happy birthday dear britney'! ;)

:) :) :)
am guessing he means Nico though? :)
also.. i want to hear Jenson sing...
I'd imagine so, Massa's birthday is near mine :D
it's nico's birthday today. i didn't even read massa.
I wonder if there isn't a double jeopardy thing though, where you can't be charged for the same thing twice.
ahh, bugger
that sounds fair.

Results are up for the Humpty Dumpty 10k. 54th!!!!!

I was the 7th fastest un-attached (i.e. not a member of an athletics club) runner. Go me!!!
right i'm going to sit in the daily now :)
The FIA site is very slow.... so i'm assuming the verdict is in?.. there can't be that many people checking it..
So we wait for the stewards report then
I should have known not to update my predictions competition results before the stewards had finished...
the only penalties on the FIA site so far are Koby's penalty for speeding in the pitlane and Hamilton's drive through...
come on FIA!! make a decision! grrrr
They're watching something else
it's ridiculous.
Rodrigo y Gabriela are actually incredible. i've never seen anyone play the acoustic guitar that well before. stunning.
@jakehumphreyf1
Really sorry guys. The power cut proved terminal. Highlights bbc3 tonight. Full service shall be resumed at Silverstone-can't wait!!!!!!
so not even on iplayer then?
am enjoying glastonbury.. i feel like i'm watching it alone but it's nice, i can deal with that. Sport makes people angry..
I think the filming stopped

Michael Who?
commiserations by the way....
The Mercedes were having brake problems after 10-15 laps; that's just shocking
@ManipeF1
We've had statements from the stewards regarding pitlane incidents, but not the safety car ones yet.
webber's accident replay: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/8766194.stm

love the onboard picture.
@LeeMcKenzieF1
So far Buemi, Petrov, Liuzzi, Hulkenberg all get no penalty from the Stewards.
oh i hope JB doesn't get one...
so drivers left still under investigation = De la rosa, Sutil, Kubica, Jenson and Rubens.
Who's headlining Glasto tonight?
Stevie Wonder on the main stage and Orbital on the other
http://www.bbc.co.uk/glastonbury/2010/lineup/stage/
Ooh Orbital, nice
the FIA site is rrrrrubbish
i mean seriously... why release a random number of penalties...make the decision for all of them, then release it all at once... and while their at is they can sort their site out too...
urrrrrggghhh FIA make me grumpy.
Ferrari have started:
A scandal , that's the opinion of so many fans and employees who are all in agreement: there is no other way to describe what happened during the European Grand Prix," said the Ferrari statement
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/84854
@ManipeF1
Stewards penalise all drivers on the list 5 seconds. Glock penalise 20 secs. Button keeps podium.
YAAYY!!!!!
5 second penaltys? i thought the only options were 20 or 30. how odd
bassano, can you add that to the other thread too? this is fun :)
Sure
that's what Legard said i think..never trust legard...
Blah blah blah
Schumacher pitting to take a penalty after the race was a scandal. Schumacher ramming Villeneuve to try to win a championship was a scandal. Schumacher trying to ram Hakkinen off the road at 200mph was a scandal etc etc etc
Ferrari strangely didn't seem to have a problem with any of those
Non penalty penalties seem to be in fashion in Valencia
brundle said it too
and Noble.
such a good thing Jenson finished nearly 13 seconds ahead of Rubens :D
Personally, I think the forum outage was a match fix for Vee8's bingo
I guess now the match is over the power is back
right i'm off to go buy my train tickets for Goodwood. back soon ya'll x
See ya in a bit Lou
Careful outside :)
bye lou.

Ok, bye to the leavers. Go on, desert us!

Stop planning
Good night
For the record Top Gear is back tonight, 8pm.

Did I just see Teletubbies in the crowd at Muse's performance?
Yes you did!
OK, good. Cos I was really feeling like today wasn't happening for real
yess!! a 5 day trip to Havant.. with 3 day returns to chichester for less than it costs me for a day return to london!! wohoo for money saving! :)
You make planning ahead sound appealing. That can't be right
i have about 8 different tickets, but it's worth it :)
Hey everyone.
So is there a breakout thread for the athletics or the cricket?
;)
At least a British team can't possibly lose in the athletics. They'll find a way I suppose though.
Boo for Pedro :(
i need to do a season tour like Alex Snell..
'Right, that's enough for now - off to meet @f1photos for a beer, and maybe @virginracing if he's about? ;) laters people!'
We love a volunteer.
Ooooooops.
I just finally caught up with last night's Doctor Who!!!!
Ooooh
some pics from the weekend...
- nice to know the Sutton boys are having a nice time... There are a more pages with pics of girls in a pool than there are of the racing.

- hehe photographers having fun
- wohoo! i love the pit boards :)

Someone is already thinking about England's next match
http://twitter.com/JRobertsF1/status/17182862424
The table wasn't there in the post race interview
it makes no sense... they must have brought it in?... but why? it's so silly.
No idea what is going on. Maybe they move after the unilaterals and do the other interviews there. Need to aks Joe or someone
there are being stupid, silly tv people.
Everything looks more professional with the table. The drivers are more natural when it is there
Just got back from Grandma's. What excuse has the FIA given for issuing a penalty that isn't even in the list of penalties it is allowed to issue?
what gets me is there are normal mics and things there too.. so why bother putting face mics on them and getting them to sit looking all uncomfortable..
I think they are normally different rooms for the TV interviews and the general press.
hi ali.
I was expecting you would know some subtle hidden article allowing for that.. . :P
so it was just the FIA being the FIA then...
Seems to be a Valencia thing. Yesterday Massa was allowed back out in a car that the marshals got back to the pits and now this
really? i was under the impression they just continued the press conference, cause back in the days of ITV streams they used to leave it open after quali or the race and we'd see the whole press conference.. well i think it was the whole conference?..
Hullo again
hello back lukeh
I thought they all did their two questions, the winner got a follow-up or two, then they get to sum up their race in their "own foreign language" (as Bruce Jones once said when he was asking the questions). After that, I thought they moved to the press room for further questions. Could be wrong.
hi ali.
I was expecting you would know some subtle hidden article allowing for that.. . :P

The penalties the FIA is allowed to issue for "incidents" are clearly indicated on Article 16. These are:
a) drive-through penalty (or 20-second penalty if issued within 5 laps of the end)
b) stop/go penalty (or 30-second penalty if issued within 5 laps of the end)
c) grid drop (on this, unlike time penalties, total flexibility is enabled)
Other penalties are permitted if the breach was of the International Sporting Code or the Technical Regulations rather than the Sporting Regulations, or if the incident did not occur during the race itself, but none of those conditions apply to this incident.
Hey mate.
Quick plug, its gone very wrong for one specific new team: http://northernwaffler.wordpress.com/2010/06/27/chatoic-valencia-mixes-things-up/
sounds like a good question for Joe, it's a bit we never get to see
who thinks that trying to create a new recipe to add to my cooking using chicken and green apple is a good idea?
I thought they all did their two questions, the winner got a follow-up or two, then they get to sum up their race in their "own foreign language" (as Bruce Jones once said when he was asking the questions). After that, I thought they moved to the press room for further questions. Could be wrong. {Comment #255}
I don't think you are. Appendix 3 Point 8 refers to the "unilateral room" and Point 9 the "press room". Point 7 makes reference to "TV unilateral interviews" which logically would occue in the unilateral room. Drivers have to proceed from the podium to the unilateral room to the press room. Interestingly, the unilateral room has to have air conditioning and/or ventilation as well as towels and water, but the press room doesn't need any of these.
Poor Heikki about to embark on his 1200km road trip back to Geneva...
Not a good weekend for him at all....
um,,,, testing...

You've become part of the Matrix?
Top gear! Also my laptop has no seemingly died. Fun times...
TOP GEAR!
Am having lots of laptop problems tonight so I'll write my race review sometime tomorrow after work...
Any budding journalists want to work with the chequered flag at Silverstone?
http://twitter.com/TheCheckerFlag/status/17191362549
Plug: 2:15.000 (my blog entry on the penalty given to the "Speedy Nine").
Where did you get the 2 min 15 seconds from?
Good evening. Just been to Mum's where I had to endure You've Been Framed, but at least I got to see Top Gear afterwards.
Now back home watching Faithless at Glasto
Where did you get the 2 min 15 seconds from? {Comment #271}
I reckon each driver should have had a 20-second penalty, not 5. In the blog entry I use the regulations to back up that assessment.
That's 15 seconds worth of penalty each driver did not receive that they should have done.
15 x 9 = 135 seconds = 2 minutes 15 seconds.
Right, gotcha ;)
ooo! GP+ is out :D
must read.
Someone clearly takes after his father
http://twitter.com/InsideFerrari/status/17184936652
Dr Who or Stevie Wonder at Glasto..? Will go with Stevie for a while.
"...oh, you wanna me to-a talkabout the race-a?"
Why is Stevie Wonder wearing a linesman's kit? ;)
the full quote:
“I am incredulous and bitter, not just for Ferrari, but for the sport as a whole, as this is not the sort of thing one expects from professionals. For a long time now, I have also followed races in championships in the United States, where the appearance of the Safety Car is a frequent occurrence, but I have never seen anything similar to what happened today at the Valencia circuit. If it raises some doubts over the actions that led to a false race, to me that would seem more than reasonable.”
http://www.ferrari.com/English/Formula1/News/Headlines/Pages/100627_F1_europeangp_piero_ferrari_incredulous_and_bitter.aspx
oh wow, he's comparing F1 to Nascar. Good move.
:)
we've been saying that for the past couple of weeks. haven't we?
My full response would be moderated here for language, but needless to say I think he's talking rubbish and had Ferrari and Alonso benefited from what happened, they would not have said anything!
he's comparing F1 SC rules to IRL/CART rules, and he's right on doing that
Boooooooooooooriiiinnngg. Please move on now.
It's hard to believe someone in his position thinks what happened today was so bad. Clearly he knows nothing about his own companyy let alone the rest of F1
Ferrari, I mean of course, not commentors :)
Is F1 now implementing phantom debris cautions near the end of the race in order to reset the field and openly admitting it too?
Not phantom. Charlie lobbed a bottle on to the track
Well considering he never used to be considered a son of Ferrari (He had to take his mother's surname), that's not a surprise!
I'll be honest at the time I was worked up about it, in particular what Lewis did, I've accepted it, its racing and sometimes you aren't lucky, but I don't Ferrari ever will.
Now all we need is Luca's statement.
I agree. In those series, my understanding is that if the SC can't get out fast enough and lets the first car or two through, they must slow down and wait for the SC to catch and pass them. That's because there's no way the cars at oval speed can slow down before the SC can get out from a standstill.
He still was around Ferrari and everyone knew who he was. Beside he was Ferrari not Lardi when Schuamcher did all the stuff he did in a red car
How many twitter accounts do Ferrari have?
http://twitter.com/ferrarif1world/status/17195011483
That ones not official
all this would be simple to fix from now on by going back to 2008 SC pit rules. that the SC can get out in the middle of the pack while everybody is allowed to pit when he wants is a recipe for disaster.
Shame Alonso lost out due to Webber deliberately crashing to let Vettel win. Awful to get caught up in something like that. ;)
I mentioned that in the post race thread. There is no argument closing the pitlane now, no one would need to refuel.
:)
*against closing it ;)
F1 has never done Safety Car periods properly, they just can't seem to figure them out.
The IndyCar rules work because the pits close, if someone has to top up with fuel they can come in and get a 1 or 2 sec amount and have to come back later - meaning they still get screwed but not as much as running dry or coming in for a full load and getting a post-race penalty. Moot in F1 now of course. But they also work because they have one crew per car, not one crew for two cars which sort of messes it up for F1, people will always lose out as long with only one crew.
I suppose what could've happened is the SC could've waved everyone by immediately and parked itself awaiting Vettel again.
+1
completely agree on that
and maybe no one should be allowed to pit before the leader has the chance to do it (meaning: nobody pits until the leader has crossed the pit lane entry once, either going in or staying out)
I think that would guarantee the win to the leader. I would say this: When the SC Deployed message is displayed nobody can pit until the SC passes the pit entry on its first lap around, and nobody can pit until the leader catches the SC (doesn't matter where everyone else is, if they haven't caught up that's their problem - you'd expect after a lap most would be there).
If someone is in the pits already that's fine, effectively that would be same as pitting before the SC happened.
If someone has damage, they can pit for repairs etc. But that could give an advantage over people who have to wait so I'd mix in something from 2005 from the single-set rules: change the damaged tyre, come back in when the track is green for your 'normal' stop.
Anyone got anything to plug for the ol' daily?
It's hard to believe someone in his position thinks what happened today was so bad. Clearly he knows nothing about his own companyy let alone the rest of F1 {Comment #288}
What happened today is bad for F1, for the same reasons that some of the things that have come out in Ferrari's favour in the past were bad. Rules were broken and incorrect penalties were applied, thus defeating the point of the rules being there in the first place.
You could always plug how awesome RG is, i think that would go down well
Ah, you say that as soon as I schedule ;)
Early start for me in the morning, catch y'all later, daily is scheduled.
adios!
bye RG
leg.end!
:D
Night.
I have a half-written post from Tuesday I ought to finish, but it is getting out of date rapidly :)
:D
Because I linked them the other day I should mention The Furious Wedge has morphed into Grab Bag Sports (I don't get the name either, something to do with baseball apparently). Will be back to how it was a while ago, IndyCar + baseball + lots of other US sports and whatever else takes their fancy

Speedgeek will be a contributor.
Chandhok wants an iPad because he was playing an addictive game on Jake's

he needs to get back on top of Christine's ranking. actually, he deserves to get the title now no matter what happens the rest of the year :P
Stevie Wonder brought Michael Eavis on stage for Happy Birthday, it's Glastonbury's 40th anniversary - and Eavis is singing :)
i think he should lose points for not having one already!

What?!?
GMM break world exclusive. Alonso doesn't want to have Hamilton as a team mat in future.
Why do people pay for garbage like that?

It's taken them 2 days to copy Ted's interview-based information off Five Live? They're getting out of practise...
he's late to the ipad game, iphone4 has already superseded it. keep up chandhok.
i wouldn't want him as a mat either..
#sorry.
shocking! ;-)
Maybe he has had to replace the ctrl, C and V keys again
booooo
you know, today there weren't other stories or controversies, so they needed to fill the 10 stories per day with something... :P

strong thoughts from joe about today:
The race was dire and F1 NEEDS to give fans a better show.
on the one hand i love that comment, on the other i'm confused that i liked the race, when all season i've been the person saying exactly that.
i think that the factbyte factbox has totally skewered my opinion on f1 races. because we're literally programming it on the fly, i found i was entertained the whole race.
BBC showing Orbital now... and there's a certain Matt Smith on stage
I was surprised how positive everyone was about the race. I posted a comment after the race saying that the race kept my interest but there was no real racing and I think that is the problem
sounds like the perfect thing to get him to elaborate on in the next podcast :)
on that note.. there was a discussion in the comments earlier about what exactly the drivers do after they come off the podium.. they have the tv conference.. but then do they move to another room for a different conference? i was confused because suddenly in photos of the conference they were sitting behind a desk, when on tv they'd been in chairs.. not the most pressing matter, but ya'know.. was just wondering if Joe knows.
as I said after the race, the racing in itself was not very good (except for Koby, maybe...) All the 'show' was guaranteed by the Sc and the dodgy decisions later
I think people were expecting Bahrain so they were pleased to get something. I quite liked it but there was a dull period.
COOOOL!
hehehe!
yep, they go to a separate press conference away from tv, so that newspapers can get "exclusive" quotes.
joe mentioned it when he talked about jenson winning the WDC title in brazil, he went into the 2nd conference and said "where the **** is everyone... i just won the WDC crown!"
joe said they were all writing their articles and didn't have time to come listen to him/
oooh yes!!! i remember now. ah thank you. :)
it appealed to the things that interest me. that being mass confusion, cars being out of position, safety cars and pitstops all over the show.
i can see that there wasn't much on track action to get excited about.
right, early start tomorrow + frantic revision till my last exam on wednesday so i may disappear until then.
I'll be back when i'm free!!!! :D
night all! xx
I do like seeing how teams react to confusion, is quite hard to follow though
Good luck!
that never happened for me. i think i have have found a way to watch f1 and keep interested. i enjoyed the whole of monaco because it was hacking mclaren's web cams.
i need to programme my way through the rest of the season :)
best of luck lou.
there was at least a couple of overtakes that wasn't one of the new teams being involved. its progress considering last year there were none.
night lou. good luck!
impossible at times.
from 5live:
The Chequered Flag Podcast will be available in the morning. Recorded on the flight back from Valencia.
it'll sound worse than kangaroo tv's shows.
Night Lou
How is the countdown going?
It was between the end of the SC period (a few laps after it once things settled in) and Kobayashi's pit stop. There wasn't even that much in the way of trading lap times, which I've been keeping an eye on most races because that's where the interest often is, seeing someone catching someone else - often some races people have found boring have been interesting to me for that reason, the hope someone would catch and pass..
:D
bbc are hashtagging their tv broadcasts now?
#bbcglasto just appeared in the lower third.
Never seen that before
they say 'Other microblogging services are available'?
:)
love this from f1photos:
