Merry Sidepodchristmas
Hello and Merry Christmas! It's the 25th December, and I think we are safe now, there should be no F1 news today. Instead, it's all about chocolate, mince pies, and tracking Santa. Still, there are a couple of things we've noticed on our travels around the web, and we'd like to share them with you:
- Lukeh made a rather good Christmas postcard for everyone who frequents Sidepodcast. Good ol' Rubens makes an appearance, and we would like to wish happy holidays along with Mr Barrichello.
- RG has written some festive greetings from both himself and on behalf of Timo Glock. There is some photoshopping going on over there, but the writing is much more important - he's got some good plans for next year, so I'll be staying subscribed. I hope you will too.
- SLVAaron is making some Red Bull muffins for Christmas, and it seems as though he is using the Sidepodradio instructions to help him along the way. I hope he's not taking tips from Mr C.
- It is the last day of Giggles Advent and it's bound to be a good video from Alex. While you're there, relive the entire 25 days, because they're all fabulous.
That's all for now. It's probably a busy day all round, but we'll be about so if you want to let us know what you're up to, if you're eating turkey, or what presents you have received, we're all ears.
Merry Christmas everyone :)
it's chriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiistmas.
One second off I'm afraid.
Merry Christmas all.
HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE :)
and alex, it's now christmas day ;)
I had a feeling you were going to do that.
:D
Your timing is impeccable....
Merry Christmas :D
gah!
:P
happy christmas alex.
:) Hurrah...
Merry Christmas everyone :)
:D :D :D :D
Merry Christmas everyone :)
thank you Mr C :)
merry sidepodchristmas to all.
(big hugs)
you are now excused ;)
There's a lot of love in the room :)
Is rockall in this time zone???
Yuletide Felicitations to one and all.
And for Christine... Happy 25th of December. It's no longer Thursday :)
:D
nice hat!
http://gigglesadvent.com/?id=25
awww :)
Yes, it was the peapod wine episode this evening....
And of course now I can say for the last time: http://gigglesadvent.com is live.
Cheers!
Naomi (the friend i went on holiday with) wishes you all a merry christmas too. :)
merry xmas naomi.
...until next year.
I refuse to open them until I've slept. It'd be like opening Christmas presents now = just wrong!
and later today when I plug it again :)
Okay now seriously... byeeeeee!
night chap.
night Alex :)
Nigggght!
Great Advent day calendary thing :) thank you for a whole months worth of fun :)
Although a fairly hefty chunk of northern europe has opened their presents this evening...
(Not here, We haven't even wrapped anything yet, and the stockings are, um, missing....)
Luckily for us we have a family of skeptics.
I'm glad to hear it! I gave up on wrapping earlier on. It was making me grumpy. I still have a fair bit to do. Plus I seem to have "volunteered myself" to get a fair amount of my sister's done now too.
anyone up for the traditional mental challenge?
http://www.autosport.com/christmas/quiz2009/
I don't even need to look and already I can tell you: not a chance.
ollie's 100th caption competition:
http://blogf1.co.uk/2009/12/25/caption-contest-100/
but there are questions about nascar and moto gp... :(
Plus no prizes, so rather pointless unless you want to brag about your encyclopaedic knowledge in an adenoidal whine.
it's traditional.
I can hear that said in an adenoidal voice too. ;)
also optional ;)
Blimey. Didn't realise it was all about material gain.
I wasn't referring to you, Mr C.
Hehe. I just don't see the point of looking up answers to questions I have no interest in whatsoever. Perhaps if they did separate quizzes for each Formula I'd be more inclined.
Yea, but without prizes, just as pointless, I'd guess.
flipping heck. i am struggling
i KNOW!
I had a guess at one. This is one better than last year.
heheh that was strangely fun.. 25/30 for the f1 section so that's not too bad... rrrrrrrubish on the other sections though :D
loving the answers to question 50
Epic Fail Autosport.
Stupid links to hte GT Academy page down the right and left hand sides!
:)
I've just done the QI quiz in the Radio Times. No prizes there either.
whoever made up number 39s answers has clearly been drinking
You scored 51/101 (50.50%).
F1 only: 20/30 (66.67%).
Non-F1: 31/71 (43.66%).
That's not too bad. Most fans did as well as you...
17/30 for f1
15/71 non f1
That was rather hard. Boo for hard quiz'z
OK time for bed - goodnight to one and all and may the morning bring you whatever you want it to. LPG says goodnight too.
not gonna tell us what ya got ;)
night Andy
okay time for me to sleep too! Goodnight and Merry Christmas everyone! :) xxx
Am going to love you and leave you, I won't speak to y'all tomorrow as am at the family's, but all have a great day :)
I shall leave you with a mini story from this morning from my cousin about her son...
...he woke up crying this morning saying "but i've been a good boy mummy" ...he thought today was christmas day and wondered why his stocking was empty.
serious awww-age. Night all :)
night sir
see ya.
bye guys.
Merry Christmas everyone.
I got the Lewis Hamilton: My Story book!
Go Zoe!
Merry Christmas all, even if I'm jumping the gun for the USA.
hurry up and join the day, it's been great. I am about to go for a walk along the beach to try and burn off some of my lunch.
Ate. Too. Much.
yay!
can i just say, i really, really like sharing lots and lots of christmasses.
especially my wrong weather one? :D
especially that one.
the snow tried to kill me on thursday, i'm all about the sun now :)
the beach smells funny because there is some sort of rotting seafood washed up on it, but thats ok. our neighbours found some buried whale bones so we are about to go and explore them because the bones we saw them with looked pretty interesting.
Morning, folks. Just came back from Mass. :)
Last night was fantastic! Although, I must say, it probably says something about my hobby and the available gifts for my hobby that I got the following last night:
1 Ferrari collared shirt (red)
1 Ferrari tee (red with white piping)
1 Ferrari tee (white with red piping)
:D
Gift of the night, though, was that Britney Spears greatest hits collection for my sister. We were dancing to it aaaaaaall night long. :D
Take pictures! :)
:)
Mind you, I told them: might as well buy all the red stuff now - odds are you'll be buying me silver-y clothes next year... ;) :D
oh no!
:D
Merry Christmas Sidepodders
I can't get to sleep.... I sent you guys a jolly December gift. I didn't realise I wouldn't be able to write a note though although I guess it means you've been spared my semi-drunken sap :P Thank god for small mercies!
:D Awwww.
you're too kind. thank you alison.
Not at all. You guys are amazing! I have so many things I could thank you for :)
like giving you the place to meet Nick, among other things. ;)
the reverse is also true though.
(biiiig hugs)
Mr C has become an expert at hugging now! :)
(hugs back)
tis true.
aww.
Hmmmm "thank you for spamming up our F1 website with your ridiculous love life"? :P
I did learn lots about F1 as well. Honest.
YEEEEES! :D We actually contributed to it, you know. It's a fair trade. :D
it wasn't like that, and if were an issue we would've said.
even better :)
i think, that if all we talked about was f1, we'd go quite crazy, quite quickly. variety is good.
:D And you're going to Spa, too.
As Christine would say, that's what the daily is for.
Especially true in a year where we had the FOTA breakaway attempt, and Schumi tried to come back twice!
I might ACTUALLY see Michael Shumacher rather than just have my dad pretend it's him to shut me up :P
the "daily" may well be the girls bestest ever idea. i don't know where it came from, i don't know how she keeps it up. i've never seen the idea on another site, but i'm glad we have it.
Speaking of which, I FINALLY managed to contact Shanghai. There's a funny story about that call (which I'm reserving in case I blog about this). But the gist of it is that they confirmed tickets do not go on sale until next week, and they'll let me know when it does. :D
awwww. you're SO sweet sometimes, you know that? too bad she won't see this till the morn. :)
shhhhhhh ;)
ooh, yay.
I'm trying to help catch up. I'm facing west and running really fast so the earth spins faster. Don't talk about the beach either - I'm jealous!
busy day sir?
this so sounds like a bad teenage comedy/drama like goonies.
I think I've come a long way from only knowing the name of one driver that wasn't even driving anymore. It's been a funny old year...
This btw wasn't me saying I was coming to Spa. I currently can't afford to pay for anything. I did however bankrupt myself paying an excessive amount renewing my car insurance.
Understatement of the year for you, I think. A funny old year, indeed. ;)
...not yet, anyway. :D
My whole life is like this :P I can't help but go through the melodrama!
not yet ;) just travelling around today trying to find commonwealth style Xmas things. I had to explain what custard was today...
Tomorrow I'll be with some expats - aussies and kiwis. Should be fun and relaxing.
I was watching in the line of fire earlier, the Clint Eastwood film. I'm half convinced John hodgman (aka pc guy in the mac ads, and numerous other things) did the voice over of a radio announcer in the first 15 minutes. If that's not a totally random post I don't know what is....now when does Santa arrive?
AUTOSPORT results: 25/30 for F1 + 35/71 for non-F1 = 60/101 overall.
Not bad. :)
he's in canada at the moment.
sheeeesh!
John or Santa?
You know, we had the same F1 score. :D
santa :)
i got 17.
Oops. I thought it was your score. It was actually Lou's. :)
See earlier comment. Oops.
:)
Hehehe
shush!
according to NORAD? I hope they don't press the wrong buttons...
I mostly sucked at the national categories (British F3, BTCC) because we get precious little coverage of those here. But I did better on those where we get better coverage here (F1, MotoGP, NASCAR, WRC, WTCC)
I am back from my walk, I went for a paddle in the water and then I walked around the block. I found an intersection that must have been named by someone who likes Germans and Japanese folk.
http://drop.io/sidepodcast/asset/dsc07394-jpg
hehehe.
are you sure that's not just a coincidence? Hehehe.
I has done the quiz
You scored 47/101 (46.53%).
F1 only: 21/30 (70.00%).
Non-F1: 26/71 (36.62%)
:D
i'm really not sure christine and i should be the ones hosting an f1 podcast.
its ok. Too many questions about jenson ;)
Just taking a bit of a break from wrapping to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and if you aren't celebrating Christmas then I wish you a Happy Festivus :D. Now I must get back to drinking beer, I mean wrapping.
You scored 51/101 (50.50%).
F1 only: 25/30 (83.33%).
Non-F1: 26/71 (36.62%).
That's not too bad. Most fans did as well as you...
most fans did better than mr.c :(
i may need more wine.
:-)
I Love Christmas! (no wine needed)
me too!
(i get to sleep when i feel like it, not when society dictates)
Morning Mr C :)
And everyone else. Merry Christmas! I am peeling potatos!
hullo chap!
Good Morning, Good Tidings, Merry Christmas!
Anyone opened any nice presents yet?
So far i have....
1)a hangover... doh!
:D :D
enjoy your lunch! I have finished my dinner and now I am settled in my chair for the rest of the evening.
Worse still, i cant find any receipts, so no taking it back and demanding a refund!
right you lovely, gorgeous, fantastic people.
i must away to sleeps.
....how drunk are you? ;)
night!
Your still awake! Amy-esque
Merry Christmas!
I mean you are obviously still awake, but i meant stayed-up ;)
Good Morning Everyone - Its a lovely summer day.
its a lovely winters day here too :D its quite warm!
it was 32 in my town today, the hottest it's been in months! and only 20 in melbourne. I totally bought the sunshine home with me.
Somehow I think you bring sunshine where ever you go - I still have your pic of the Britten Motorcycle on my desktop.
aww, thats nice of you!
I am just wrapping presents before going to Xmas lunch with friends (I do not have any family)
I am pleased to hear you have someone to spend the day with then, its not nice to have Christmas by yourself!
I am never alone - I have Red who for a dog is unbelievably human!
I'd love to have a dog, we just had guests for dinner who bought their dog over so I played with her most of the evening :D
It nearly happened to me! luckily i have somewhere to go now, but they are french so i need to locate a chicken (deceased & cooked ;) ) somewhere soon to take a long with me!
needs more lamb. We had roast hogget and my brother was explaining how old it needs to be to be called lamb, hogget or mutton and I asked how old it needs to be before it can be called beef. It took me far too long to work out that beef doesn't come from sheep :D It was quite possibly the most our family has ever laughed in years, I had to leave the table because I was crying from laughing so hard
Pleased to hear your also have somewhere to go. I had a bit of a disaster the 4 KG Gammon has got frozen into the ice-box of a fridge I have - so there is big defrost that make climate change look insignificant. Might just have to go with lots of bubbly stuff and Xmas pies.
Hehehehe :D
I have never heard of hogget before, if you hadnt told me i would have said it was beef!
I should really try and locate some roast camel, but I dont think i know anyhwere which does it nowadays
Think Mr Hogget, the farmer from babe.... It's obviously sheep related :P
I've never seen babe.
Babe is about a pig?
The pair of you are heathens!! Mr Hogget is the sheep farmer....
But he has a pig! He stars in a film about a pig!
A pig being a sheep dog.... That belongs to a sheep farmer named Mr Hogget.
I did not know that it was a sheep under 1 year old - had I guessed I would have said a baby pig as adults are called hogs.
actually ex-pigs it was several piglets that ended up as Sunday roast I believe.
Merry Christmas everyone, hope you have a wonderful day.
Merry Christmas everybody!!!! Have a really lovely day :)
Merry Christmas to u and all the F1 fans
Merry Christmas Everyone!
I had a great time last night and I'm off again for a Christmas Lunch - lots of food, Schnapps and Beer!
See you tomorrow ;)
I haven't seen it either.
I am flabbergasted at the number of peeps who haven't seen Babe! How can this be?
Maybe because it's about a talking pig?
But... But.... But...
It's sooo cute and fun!
PS. How can Mr C have only just gone to bed? Doesn't he like Xmas?
We don't do Christmas. He was busy.
stop being so cool. I can't keep up :-)
(if nothing else, Xmas means a day off - everybody loves that!)
Yup, see: http://www.sidepodcast.com/2009/12/25/daily-25th-december-2009/#comment-637346
There's also the small matter of lots of TV, mince pies, alcohol, chocolate and stuff like that. :)
A festive F1 Minute: http://www.f1minute.com/2009/12/25/25-dec-09-merry-christmas-from-f1-minute/
Wow! People are recreating the Home Alone movie via Twitter.
http://twitter.com/HATProject/homealone
Madness.
brilliant!!
I am going to need to watch it now :)
after a mental all-nighter and some serious hard work by the both of us:
http://sidepodcast.com/2009/12/25/an-alternative-christmas-message-2009/
We beat the Queen!
I bet she didn't stay up all night editing hers.
she likely didn't get a cotton bud stuck in her ear and nearly ruin EVERYTHING either.
:)
Merry Christmas to everyone. Hope everyone is having a joyful and peaceful day.
I am currently loading the Sidepodchristmas Carol to do a thorough test of the voice recorder I got as one of my Christmas presents.
ooh, will you share the results?
she likely didn't get a cotton bud stuck in her ear and nearly ruin EVERYTHING either {Comment #188}
?!? What a strange thing to happen!
ooh, will you share the results? {Comment #190}
That's the plan :)
It's supposed to have a super-dooper USB 2 connection as well as some software to translate the file into whatever format I want (judging by the manual, other programs would also work, but I want to find out how good the stuff on the disk is).
very poor timing on my part.
I am flabbergasted at the number of peeps who haven't seen Babe! How can this be? {Comment #174}
I've tried watching it a couple of times but always got bored before the halfway point. It's not really my sort of film...
very poor timing on my part. {Comment #193}
Ah. All's well that ends well though...
I just had that moment where you take off a tshirt and realise you actually got horribly sunburnt that day and now there is a distinctive red/white line on my upper arm. I look like a candy cane.
I'm having problems doing the recording, but they are human rather than technical - I keep giggling too much in the second half of the first verse...

Oh no!
#wouldnthavethisproblemataproperchristmas
:p
psssshhh I had the best day everrrrr.
aww I kid :) merry summery Christmas to you amy :)
and the opposite to you :D (not the merry bit of course ;)
merry christmas to ya, amy. :)
and now i have some sleep to catch up on.
night all.
good morning - just about. :D
Merry Christmas everyone! :)
I have to nrun away again now, but i will be back soon.. :)
Hi and bye Lou :)
IS everyone having a merry christmas? I just finished my christmas shopping, and i have a chicken mincepies & beer for taking to dinner at a friends
Jingle Whoop!
I know this is an odd question, but please could someone tell me where the ALBA website is? My voice recorder's disk doesn't appear to come with drivers Windows XP understands...
IS everyone having a merry christmas? I just finished my christmas shopping, and i have a chicken mincepies & beer for taking to dinner at a friends {Comment #208}
Yes. I've just finished Christmas pudding following Christmas lunch (featuring an amazingly large turkey leg). Dad's on the sofa reading the remaining Jenson Button book, Mum's sorting out the dishwasher and I'm trying to get my recording device to talk to my computer.
Morning, folks. Just came back from Mass. :)
Last night was fantastic! Although, I must say, it probably says something about my hobby and the available gifts for my hobby that I got the following last night:

Sounds great!
I've got the voice recorder, a pair of cool noise-cancelling headphones which will help me practise my audio typing and two books (Unseen Academicals by Terry Pratchett and Star Wars: Invincible by Karen Traviss).
I got Dad a book (Jenson Button: My Championship Year) and Dad got me a book (Jenson Button: My Championship Year). Hilarity ensued... ...resulting in a very grateful brother and nephew sharing my copy (well, it gave Dad and I an excuse to leave the house and admire the outside - it's the first White Christmas in the UK for five years).
Wow - this must have been the quietest hour on Sidepodcast all year...
Just had to have a Christmas nap :)
My mum is telling tales on my cooking ability: http://smarterthanyouraverage.com/2009/12/24/the-mince-pie-competition/comment-page-1/#comment-2009
have just woken up. but now i am.
hope everyone is having a fine old time.
Cease panic - I've just sorted out the recording device and am about to upload my version of the Sidepodchristmas Carol onto the Sidepodwiki.
My version of "F1 Bells". My voice wasn't especially good this morning, though...
ooh, we can embed that. nice one:
More people should do versions as well. Fun!
Thirty minutes to Doctor Who. WOOOO.
The dr who nerves are growing!!!
Ooh nearly same time :)
Hehehe, it must be nearly time :)
can't wait any longer!!! But I don't want the end of an era :(
I know. Although, even Mr C says he might watch this with me, and he hasn't watched it since Billie left.
true story.
Are we live commenting the Doctor?
Christmas video on the drop
Caution: it may not be as funny as it seems here
Ho, ho, ho. Hellllo, hope you've had a good christmas all.
I have, I bought myself a Christmas present as i didnt actually get anything to open today :D
Had a big chicken dinner and lots of french nibbles earlier too... everyone else having fun? It seems many might have zoned into watching Mr Who
How surreal but brilliant!!!!!
Wow.
Now we have to wait another freakin' week.
no!! I must know now! For a moment I was wondering if iwas gonna get John Simm'd
I know. Loving Timothy Dalton :D
I mighta tricked Mr C into thinking that was the last ever one, cos if he knew it was actually two hours he had to watch he probably wouldn't have. He was quite surprised when it ended and didn't end properly.
#sorryMrC
I should say last ever David Tennant one.
rats!
So the last Dr Who ever then. :P
Aww, poor Mr C. Least he got to see awesomeness and, well, John Simm. many John Simms.
This means that you have seem the pics of the 'new' doctor then?
(Im told there is a swimming pool in one of the new episodes...)
Hehehe. Exactly :)
Not quite.......
I'm more than happy to give Matt Smith a chance. It's just tough following up the best doctor out of all of them.
They would have it that way, though. Rebranding everything, starting from series 1 again.
Oh no, they're not really going through with the series 1 thing are they? Boo!!
I guess we won't know until they either do or don't. Seems odd though.
There has been some talk of cleaning up old episodes for the 21st century. But the rights holders for many of the earlier (pre doctor 8) characters and scripts have said that they will not allow them to be remade, so early doctors are safe for the time being. There is to be new radio material for early doctors though, where the actor is still around to do them :)
All they need to do is give Wilf a show, job done. :)
"She's a cactus!"
"Ah yes, it's bigger on the inside."
"I thought it would be cleaner."
He's interviewed somewhere atm talking about how much fun this all is, and how he's happy to have doctor who as his pension....
:D
The man is just amazing. I'm so pleased he is a major character in this storyline.
You just can't go wrong with bernard cribbins. It's impossible to not find him hilarious and wonderful!
I have a new camera!!!!!! :)
Hello :)
Oh and did you see the Brawn GP-attired bus?!!
#commentingtoomuchaboutdrwhonowmaybe
Hellooooo!! I'm so pleased you got that camera!! When we saw it in London you just stared at it in wonder
We should probably stop in case of spoilers. :)
OOOOOOH! Excellent. What is it? Not that I will know what it is anyway, but Mr C will demand to know :)
Sounds about right.
...it was a great look for a bus though. *runs*
it's a nikon coolpix p90 :D and it's beautiful...
I've managed to catch up on all the comments made since I went to bed in record time.
Even after all this time, I still can't believe how hard the 'C' family works to provide us with amazing content and a lovely place to visit every day. I would like to learn (if possible) how to function on so little sleep :-)
I have to leave for work in an hour (GMT+11) for the Boxing Day Sales. Do major department stores run these in the UK?
We are watching dr who... Seeing David tennant cry is sad..... I think I should try give him a hug.... ;)
Cool. We'll need some pictures as evidence of how good it is, please.
OMG that's awesome! Congrats.
easily done :) I've been snapping alot today hehe when I turn on the laptop after my cousin goes I'll upload some :)
ace!
always a pleasure and thanks you.
spread the good word, load up all your itunes screens ;)
Sorry, one last message about Dr Who then I shush. This is how you make a scene awesome - http://twitpic.com/v6y7d
No spoilers in the picture for those in case of spoiler worries :)
Omg at dr who!!!!!!! Omg!!!!!!!!!
did you like it then :0 ?
Hehehe. I did like the bit when they were posing for the photo too.
:D
hehe it's exactly what I would do if I met david tennant so :) hehehehe
Pose? Or make like June Whitfield did?
would ihave to do the speaking? :p
Tumbleweed.....
yep... I'd need a pic of me with him though :)
I still feel as if I don't understand what's going on in the Dr Who episode and I watched it all the way through. Hopefully the New Year's Day episode will make everything make sense...
pose :)
sorry on iPod touch while helping clean up :)
Why do I not quite believe you?
I think that's kinda the point.
hahaha I'd certainly stand next to him giggling and smiling... Maybe no posing as such.
itll make more sense when you've seen it in full. It did start quite slowly but it grew and grew and thee new years day ep should explain everything in one hell of s way :)
Mr C and I have found our way to a TV and iPlayer on the Wii. It's so retro, all these remote controls and that.
I'm having to live comment to ensure the planets are still aligned.
#mfc ;)
They're not. It's OK, they're not supposed to be.
I didn't specify which planets.
Oh. Galifrey and Skaros then?
Watching Not Going Out. Heart this show.
Lee Mack is brilliant. Have you heard his radio show?
Nope - which radio station?
the family have gone :) what a nice day. everyone had a nice time?
It has been on Radio 2, it was first on a couple of years ago, may be repeated on BBC 7 if you're lucky.
Will investigate.
Yup :) What's your plans now?
a mixture of some more white wine, playing around with my camera, and whatever goodness is on tv i think :)
Don't forget to upload some pictures for Mr C to look at.
will do :)
Evening all.
Just noticed that Lou photographed Jenson at a Xmas shop.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/loujohnson/4117961083/in/set-72157622714215183/
an xmas shop?
ELF RIDGESS
To many ssss
oooh :D :D
Evening Steven :)
have you had a good christmas steven?
Yes. Been visiting family. Having to drive as usual though. So now I am home and don't need to drive on an ice rink any more.
It's not much fun is it? I almost managed a Scandinavian Flick on my bike the other day.
they showed us some shots of Scotland on the news last night. Poor Steven, it looks awfully cold.
I started the day having to wear sunglasses and ended up in freezing fog. The washers are frozen solid so I had to stop every 5 minutes to wipe the screen.
Rumour has it that it was -12 last night. Most main roads are OK now but as soon as you try to get into a housing area you either have snow or ice. It's not as bad as it was. I know people who took 4 hours to go three miles on Tuesday night.
insanity! I hope you have Finnish speed Internet to make up for it... :)
roflwsmtt
I hope those who have watched Doctor Who enjoyed it, oh and merry christmas :)
#nothere
James! Doctor Who!!
#scarythemetune
Hehe :D The BBC site have a clip of the next episode. I'd advise people to avoid it, best to see it in the episode.
Everyone's gone now and I'm all full up. Good times. :)
Turkey and mint sauce?
Oooo I spy another RTD tying up the franchises...
Don't you know it!
He's giving the next guy a clean slate by the looks of it.
i tried some brandy butter today it's sooo nice. :)
One good thing about these episodes is that it'll be RTD's lasts. As much as I love Dr Who, and tonight's episode, I am honestly fed up of his stupid character changes to fit what he wants.
noooo... thats the one bit of christmas i have massivly missed and i only just realised
Its the best stuff ever!
it's too good for it's own good :)
Hmm - thing is, when you look at his apparent 'changes' to long established characters, they are pretty much alway in line with the canon as a whole (including books and audio) even if they are a bit off with the most recent (10th and 11th doctor) things...
Goodness... *hugs sunshine*
I'm just old fashioned. Don't see the need for flying daleks or the Doctor acting like Jesus or the master who goes from a baddie to basically Superman but with more electricity, as well as random plot changes. I was Dr who wayyyyyyyy too much though so I tend to notice stupid things like his writing. ;)
To be fair the Daleks flying isn't that bad, and the Master bit whilst over the top isn't as bad as I'm sure RTD wanted to be ;) I will give you the Jesus' though.
The darleks started flying (hovering, and then more 'power' to their hover) long looonnngg before RTD got involved though...
I know but my GOD he made such a mockery of overuse about it!
Now that I can agree with rofl
Daleks can fly?? Last time I watched Doctor Who they couldn't do stairs
They can breakdance now.*
*Please don't read this RTD and tell Moffat
Moffat may well read this for himself though...
Now he's sensible see. ;)
To be fair RTD did a hell of a job keeping it so popular for all this time and still growing since it's return, especially with David Tennant. Just will be interesting to see how Moffat handles Matt Smith.
At least he didn't make them gay. This is a family site so
I will let you find the relevant YouTube clip youself.
I'm told that its very very well handled...
Am listening to the Christmas 'Now Show'... v.v. good :D
Evening everyone. Hope everyone has had a nice day. I can't read back as I haven't yet seen Doctor Who. Much to my chagrin.
Yes you can. We've been good and not posted spoilers... anything discussed below did not appear in the episode...
Uh hu, to quote lukeh
Seems to have appeared in the episode... ;)
oooh that's very good! Merci!
There are a couple of quotes, but we tried our best to avoid spoilers.
Well that ruins everything now. Alex will not get the surprise of a Brawn bus!
But not in the least bit spoilerish - that shot has been used in publicity over the last few weeks...
I found a loophole in your sentence and used it to an advantage :D Just like Brawn and the Diffusers.
Diffusers, they sound like a good Dr Who enemy.
Maybe Christian Horner will be a Doctor one day
yeah. I can't really look back just because. Well I'm really crazy about such things. Anyway I'm just off to
record my advent calendaroh noes!!!!!;)
Teehee...
Are you planning a career in F1 or govt. then?? (Please say the former - govt. are not my favourite people atm...)
Ummm, F1.... journalism.
Journalism just fine :D
ISTR that we've had that conversation though :P

They look, comfy!
i've not had a nice pair of slippers for ages! and my feet have been getting really cold, so they are a bit of a godsend :)
Righteo, I'm absolutely knackered so it's time for me to head off and watch the F1 DVD in bed and recap many brawnsome moments of 2009 :)

Oh, what an awesome Christmas that was!
2 in a lifetime, who'd a thunk it?
Hey Guille and Bassano,
Did you both have a nice day?
Unexpectedly, yes
And you Lou?
yay :)
I had a lovely christmas (even though it didn't really feel like christmas). am in love with my new camera and have spent a great day with my family, couldn't have asked for much more :)
Ooh, new camera?
got up late, ate a perfect 'pizza' meat done in the fire, saw a movie...
yes, a nice and not-stressful day ;-)
(too bad for the heat and humidity...)
wow! new camera!?
Any good, what was it?
Catching up with http://gigglesadvent.com/
Loving the duality of Day 15
terminator 4...
good movie, not at the level of a classic.
but the governor is there! ;-)
It's on the list
Yep, a nikon coolpix P90...it's beautiful! :D
it lacks a little bit of the pointless killing and destruction of the others (I loved the scene of the crane in T3...), but it's OK. good story, good special effects, you won't get disappointed.
No excuses now, must always be at hand for the opportune snap
i'm not going to be going anywhere without it for a bit... i love it a bit too much. :)
oh, nice. a camera you can have always with you... ;-)
I have a stack of films in my rental delivery list and 10 days off work
seriously it's so beautiful it's currently sitting beside me.. i don't have the heart to put it away...
624mm!? who are you going to spy? jenson should be worried? :-)
ehehehe tis perfect for places like goodwood, it means i can have x2 cameras on me at all times.. no need to constantly change lenses all the time.I can have my 70-300mm lens on my Dslr and my digi copes with all the other shots :D perfect! we are going to the beach tomorrow to watch my aunt take part in a sponsored swim.. am taking it with me on it's first day trip...
ooo i love new cameras! :D
I've already seen District 9, and have Harry Potter 6 and Star Trek on the list
Brrrrrrr!
yeah, she's had to sign a form saying she knows it's dangerous etc. Folkstone beach isn't the nicest and warmest of places this year. She's also doing it dressed as an elf. See.. it's not just me that's crazy in my family :)
Loved District 9 & ST
Have Tarantino's latest & Changeling tomorrow
Seeing Avatar on Wednesday
Obviously! ;)
:)
i guess you won't stop until you have 2 DSLR and the small coolpix hanging of your neck... ;-)
x2 DSLRs (both with different very awesome lenses) and a small coolpix hanging round my neck at an f1 event sounds like heaven to me :D
Tarantino's WW2 movie? it's brilliant... tarantino's way...
That's the one, which shall not be named
oh, yes, I forgot to add the paddock pass also hanging there... ;-)
eeeek! :) hopefully one day.... :)
