Hello everyone! Welcome to Sunday, and what a lovely day it is too! Can you believe it’s been just 7 days since Jenson’s epic win? I’m still recovering! I hope you’re all well today and off to fill your days with awesome things. I’m hopefully off to Brands Hatch tomorrow to see some F3 action, any lurkers/commenters going too?
Today, in the UK is Fathers day, so happy Fathers day to all the Dad’s out there (and a special one for Alex if he’s a dad yet!).
I have one F1 article for you today, could JB be the glimmer of hope for the championship battle? He thinks he could still win the title. He by all means isn’t the favourite, but I’m willing to believe anything if it means the championship battle may not be over yet!
In other F1 news, we have a brand new Aside with Joe to listen to! Many thanks to Mr C, Christine and Joe for their work on bringing us another wonderful show!
In more sports news, today is the last day before Wimbledon starts (excluding qualifying of course!). Ahead of the Championship, Djokovic is feeling confident about his chances of a win given his excellent form this season. Read more about what he said in his press conference here.
Finally in virtual sport news, RG has a post about Football manager. Ohh and talking about games, Lukeh has written about a rather special man in the world of gaming music!
I now have some rather exciting Sidepodcast tech news, which you tech savy people may already have heard about but there is now an entire neighbourhood in New York which is covered by free Wifi! How brilliant! Sidepodtrip to New York anyone?.. come on it’s beautiful…
Okay, on with some fun and inspirational links!
• I know Mrs C and those who are MFC wont approve to the use of paper here, but what a wonderful and creative way to display your to do lists!
• The dear photograph project is such a brilliant idea! I think I may have to explore this theme, I must have some old photographs somewhere! What a fabulous idea though, you can see more about it here.
• Again, I only discovered this today, but how cool does this look!! Wooowww!
• Here is a rather colourful way to see a city!
• Finally I want to highlight the atlantic infocus photography section, and specifically this alarming set of photographs showing the volcanic ash and pumice from Puyehue.
That’s about it for today, do step by and say hello today, hope you’re having a wonderful day! See you in the comments!
Hii Sunday.
Hello new daily, thank you for reminding me I have to actually write in my fathers day card and put it in the envelope!
You told me it was Saturday and now you tell me it is Sunday. Is it any wonder I don't know what day it is?
That airbus looks absolutely insane. What a brilliant concept, futuristic ideas always need plenty of holographs :)
People could do some really cool things with the Dear Photography ideas too.
:D
just said to mum ' don't stay up too late watching golf, we're off to brands tomorrow and need to get up early, you'll be exhausted otherwise!'.. i'm mothering my own mum! think it's time to go back to uni :)
No-one tells you until it is too late that one day you become the parent
JK Rowling is making an announcement next week
http://www.youtube.com/JKRowlingAnnounces
Huh.
she isn't writing a squeal, despite what your collegues said :) . if she is she'll devalue the entire series of harry potter. it's probably a new book she's gonna build up hype for. *prays JK wouldn't be so stupid to write another one*
i'm too young to be the parent!
Everyone is too young to be a parent
It's for a website called Pottermore. That really doesn't help my confusion!
Have had a look and apparently..
Her lawyer, Neil Blair, refused to reveal what the website would contain, saying only: "This is not a new Harry Potter book."
She'll shock everyone and announce she's writing a Twilight book. That'll show 'em.
she can't possibily have another potter story.. she tided everything up so well in the 7th book. please read the books.. they're awesome!.
oh gosh. well i've read all the books, i know the story, but i really don't care about a website about the books. the books are good enough on their own without supporting films/games/websites.. silly technological age!
Like films or TV series which insist on having 'webisodes'. I don't want webisodes, put it in the movie.
ohh never heard of webisodes before...
gosh i fell like my mum!
Ohhh I hate webisodes. The Office do that and it annoys me SO MUCH.
I think it's more of an American shows type of thing, not many shows here seem to do them but loads over there do. Maybe it's just the way they advertise it there that makes it work I suppose but it's a bit silly having 2 or 3 minute episodes available online after an episode is aired on TV. Put it in the show!
ohh right! i must not watch any tv shows that do that. (hearts) that Greek is relatively normal :)
Yeah. I think they are trying to get web traffic so they can serve ads at us. :) #cynic
Although I have a feeling a few BBC shows did it too for a while.
:D
Scrubs used to do it a lot and The Office does still every episode. Only two of my favourites. Cheeeeeeeers american producers for being silly, even more so when you suggest it then I can't even watch it because it's region locked *shakes fist*
ahh, i've completely fallen out of love with scrubs :( but never mind. ahh that doesn't sound great tho. lucky they are only shorts, nothing massive can happen in them really can it? you can't be missing much?

- An Aside with Joe - It's been very Vettelacious
- Daily: 17th June 2011
- You'd think they don't like money
Noooo! How comes?
No, not really. I think it's more the fact that they filmed this stuff and they just put it there as some random extra bit that could be in the episode. Maybe we're just lazy and want it all there for us easy to watch in one portion :)
Is Scrubs still on? I haven't seen it in years
i dunno, it just seemed a bit samey after a while i suppose. I think many American series go on waaayy too long, better to end on a high after just a few series (eg Greek,) than keep it going for ever and ever and ever, especially with the length of American series, it can get slightly long winded or dull. But that's just my opinion, i know many people like the long series etc.
... having said that i watch spooks and hustle year after year and they're long running.
Nah, they stopped it a few years ago. They finished it with a brilliant finale then the network forced it to come back for ratings and it's returned with the majority of the stars not in it and a really rubbish new line up lasting for a few episodes before it was canned.
i *think* it was cancelled? but i remember reading something about Zach Braff leaving (?!?!)
That's the problem I'm having with The Office at the moment. Absolutely love it to bits but it's on it;s 7th series just finished, Steve Carrell has pulled out, everything is getting samey, the writing is getting a bit ridiculous... I dunno. It's a blog post draft I've had sitting to be finished for a few weeks now but I can definitely empathise with your views there when American seasons go on for so long.
With the argument of spooks and hustle it must be a testament to their strength of writing or to how much you enjoy it if they can go on for 7 or 8 series as they have done so far and you find it brilliant still. On the other hand, they're 6 episodes a series compared to 20+ episodes a series in the US so there is far, far less to get repetitive from.
Spooks will enter it's 10th series soon and i think it's strength is that it a) only relys on .. well.. really one character remaining. They regularly kill off characters giving them new story lines to open and characters to explore. When you watch Hustle on the other hand you expect the same outcome each time, yet it's how they get there that's the most fasinating bit. The early episodes of Hustle were wonderful as they used to have 'to camera' parts of the episode. Strange to look back on but i suppose it was necessary in the early series.
The same argument can be applied to Top Gear, it's great, but the early episodes are the ones we all love.
Late ping - http://toomuchracing.com/2011/06/19/2011-indianapolis-500/
You know I've only watched the single series of Hustle but that brilliant build up to how they did it or what happened to the hustle is so well done, and it's quite clever how it never seemed to repeat itself either. Really do have to check out early series at some point though for sure.
That sums it up perfectly. Top Gear definitely a prime example. I mean, Series 17 or 18 starts in 2 weeks time, which is just mental!
On the plus side, it'll just keep Dave going no problem. :)
Surely the best example is The Simpsons. Seasons 3-9 were some of the greatest things television ever produced. Everything since (14 odd years worth) have 98% been dire. #notheresleeping
You should watch the rest if you get the chance. In one episode they even did exactly the same con they did in The Sting
Dunno how I missed that. Absolutely applies to The Simpsons. Honestly can't even watch a full episode of modern Simpsons now I find them that cringeworthy.
Thank you RG who is posting from his dreams :D
omg i forgot all about the Simpsons, they're not still making episodes are they?!
yep. And they have no plans to stop. Season 26 or something now...
every episode is fabulous, but i know the one you mean and that's very good!
486 and counting...
The Sting is a fabulous film. Only a matter of time before some clown decides to remake it and make a total mess of it
Oops, Season 22 says Wikipedia.
it would be completely fine if the content was still original and things but they've moved away from their original genre into entertainment now. Which i think is what's killing the programme. The early shows where they review cars (be it supercars or family hatch backs) were the best.
ohh I definitely will at some point. That one series alone absolutely made me a fan :)
*falls over*
That's a great film and you're probably right too
i have series 1 - 6 on DVD which makes me very happy. rewatching old episodes is wonderful when you can guess how they did it, only to remember you only know because you watched them before! :)
Looooooooooooouuuuu.........
*puppy dog eyes* :)
right, mum has finally stopped watching the golf and gone to bed, which means i should probably head of too otherwise if we do eventually make it to brands tomorrow and i'm tired she'll only be mad at me for not getting more sleep!
night all!! xx
Goodnight! Have a fab day if you head to brands hatch tomorrow :)
:D
Good night.
Have a great day at Brands
Here's a quote from Matt Groening in 2006:
"Right now, the show is creatively, I think, as good or better than it's ever been."
No. No, no no no no.
Can I add an extra no?
Enjoy Brands Lou, and since I'm off to Croft tomorrow should probably sleep n'all. Au revior.
Night RG!
Night RG
Enjoy Croft
Everyone seems to be off to british tracks tomorrow. Wonder if there's anything at Knockhill for you Steven :)
Hi guys
I've started gathering stuff for my trip over there in a little over a week!
I am staying in all day tomorrow. No race track visits for me
Hi kai. Woohoooo!!
Hi Kai
Sounds like organisation
Me too. I'll watch Indy, though...
Oh, Simona crashed in quali, as you've pr'ly see on twitter. She was alert and awake but they took her to the hospital. :(
I need lots of that to wrap up the school year and leave for the UK 2 days after that. But I planned it that way, so I can't complain now that I'm feeling I have too much to do.
I bet you must be super excited though despite that slightly overwhelming sense :)
I didn't know. I checked on Autosport and they only mentioned the top few drivers on the grid
I will be. I have this tendency to focus on the tasks, then once they're done I get reallllly excited! 'Cause once the work is done, then it's all play!! I really can't wait for that.
All action, love it :)
Ohh i wish I was as controlled as that. I let the excitement get the better of me and forget what I was doing :D
Yeah, there's lots of stuff going on. It's fun. :)
hehe
I never thought of it like that, as control, but I guess you're right. I almost prevent myself from thinking about it because I know I'll be so excited that I won't be able to sleep and stuff, so I just focus on the moment and packing, confirming things, and planning.
My yawns are so loud I'm getting responses back from the foghorns of ships so I'd better get some sleep I think.
Night everyone :)
Indy update for tomorrow's race at Milwaukee
http://bit.ly/luwE4E
:)
Good night
My neighbors/landlords got a little boxer puppy who is 8 weeks old. It barks at night, just in time for the season where I can keep my windows open at night....or not. Stoopid dog. I know it's not the dog's fault, but geesh! This one has another "K" name, Kaylee. :s
Sorry for anyone with a dog named Kaylee.
Night Lukeh
I hope she is OK to race
They make Dario drive cars with some awful liveries
You don't need a noisy dog when you have mice scraping all night
Me too. No word yet.
It's a woodland version of Wild Kingdom over here.
:D
And she has that crazy screamy bark that makes you worry it's someone hurt or something. It's cute, but it's annoying as hell.
the dog itself, NOT the bark.
Can't you throw stuff at it
hehe! Oh, don't think I haven't considered it!
It's too far away and there are a few trees in the way.
Looks like earplugs are the answer
Yeah. I used them this morning when the thing didn't understand we had the day off and didn't need to bark at 6am like she does on weekdays.
Do they do clocks or calendars for dogs?
I saw Super 8 yesterday, the new JJ Abrams film. It was good.
They should. The problem is, as a dog it must be hard to do the '5 days on/2 days off' thing, or whatever anyone's schedule is, if you don't have a concept for time...or pockets to keep the calendar in.
I am sure they learn about weeks over time. Lack of pockets is a bigger issue
I don't think the fact that they put this barking little thing out on their screened in porch was very thoughtful to me.
You would think it would annoy them
And they are inside, while for me the sound travels right to my window.
Anyway, enough complaining about that.
Do you have a series there called "Outcasts"? The premiere is on BBC America right now. I'm checking it out and will report back. It's a sci fi thing.
Never heard of it but we seem to have had some of it already
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outcasts_(TV_series)
Apparently it was rrrubbish and was canceled last year. We usually get the retreads on BBC America.
I think I will miss it
I wouldn't say you'd be 'missing it'.
#OfficeSpace
I meant I would give it a miss
I know. In the movie Office Space one guy says "It looks like you've been missing a lot of work lately" and the other guy answers "Well, I wouldn't say I've been missing it."
That film is really funny. Cult classic spoof on working in an office.
I will need to look out for that one
Having the air conditioner on makes it less likely I'll hear the puppy barking in the morning, so I'm glad it's warm out.
Good night
Good night

Good morning
Morning Bassano and anyone else around on this quiet Sunday morning :)
Hi Lukeh
Doesn't appear to be
Good morning world.
Hi Marti
Morning all.
Just taking a brief break from keyboard-bashing (doing live text for WRC).
What news?
What word?
Hullo there Marti.
good evening all. I'm trying to fight the urge to order pizza :)
Hi Stuart, Amy
oooooh http://andronovjr.com/ yay for Kat + Alex!
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!
Ahh, fantastic news!
Welcome to the world Baby Giggles
clearly wanted to be a Fathers Day to remember.
Oooh! How sweet!
As Bassano says, welcome to the world :)
Phew!
Awww!!! Congratulations Alex and Kat! Nina looks beautiful! :)
Whoop! Congratulations Mr Alex
Love the fact that Alex has a daughter who has a twitter account! :)
It must be a World Record!
Fantastic, congrats to both :)
and a website!
and a domain name :)
She is 2 steps ahead of me!
Might have to get myself a website what with all this inspiration!
New technologies are here to stay.
She arrived at this world just twelve hours ago and she's done more than many of us.
I guess the new think will be a Facebook profile, hehe
Hi from a middle of the field in a torrential rain shower.
Massive congratw to alex and kat!
No comment on spc yet, kinda disappointed.
Yeah, at nearly 12 hours old i think she is really old enough to stop lurking!
Don't have time to read all the dailys today.... but just saw Joe tweeted about the BBC dropping F1 coverage in 2013... I mentioned this during Canada or maybe Monaco in the comments and the idea was brushed aside... Joe does make note that News Corp owns the Sunday Times - and Fox of course is the rumoured buyer... Dunno... Heard via some Dr. Who 'channels' the BBC is slashing the budgets left and right.... Back to ITV?
http://joesaward.wordpress.com/2011/06/19/bbc-to-drop-f1/
Unlikely but not out of the bounds of possibility. ITV is in better financial shape than it was in 2008 when it decided to prioritise football.
The Sunday Times story reads like Murdoch trying to talk the price down: he's saying, in effect, "Well, Bernie, the BBC is going to drop it, and nobody else wants it, so you're just going to have to go away and sharpen your pencil..."
I would guess channel 4/5 with lots of ads and a premium show on sky sports like they do in italy and germany?
Hello all, wonderful news, congratulations Kat & Alex and welcome Nina
BBC got a handy reduction too as I recall, because ITV didn't want it.. may have been speculation though
I'm off to golf with Dad... hopefully any rain showers will be light.
(after I finish this cup of tea)
Loads of touring car racing today if you fancy it, ITV4, Eurosport, I think DTM is on ESPN, take your pick. And tell me later if it was any good..
Ditto :)
Pleae not Sky, anywhere but Sky
Channel 4 would do a good job but I don't relish the return of ad breaks
Awww. http://andronovjr.com/2011/06/MeandDad.html
This child is going to grow up thinking shirts only come in blue
Hehehe. :)
Awww at the picture though. Very sweet!
Good one hehe

I'd agree, Stuart. It's possible, indeed. But given how much effort they're putting into it, I just don't see how it will happen.
Great rally from the Kimster.... just sorry I couldn't go.... work can be a total pain...
But 6th in final stage, 7th overall and 8th in the championship despite missing 3 of the 7 rallies so far plus he's the only one of the guys tackling Greece for the first time....
The boy done good...
It would be seriously bad to lose Beeb coverage... it was such a breath of fresh air after ITV....
Perhaps they could cut the more expensive commentators and use Mr and Mrs C....
yay for family giggles.
Upcoming feud between Jenson and Hikay over triathalons?
http://twitter.com/#!/H_Kovalainen/statuses/82419965168320512
Calling them the "wrong kind of training"
I really want to get someone i know this shirt
http://www.gelaskins.com/gallery/BustedTees/Helvetica
Shirts do only come in blue!
We wouldn't expect it any other way :)
How are you Mr Alex?
I'm doing surprisingly well considering I've been up for 30 plus hours :)
If you think that technology is good... the baby has its own custom CMS that I wrote exclusively on my iPad while sitting with Katherine while she was stuck in the hospital.
It is neat because it allows you to take a bunch of pictures from your iphone or iPad (imported with the camera connection kit) upload them to a dropbox folder which syncs to home and to the web server and then has a an admin page that allows you to create posts from those pictures.
Very handy if you don't want the album of pictures and videos that you create of your child to rely on somebody like wordpress not going away or becoming rubbish.
Awesome! The things you can do to wai,t marvellous :)
Baby Nina is going to be well set up already to blog as well then and she's barely 12 hours old. - we're expecting a review of her first day tomorrow. ;)
Sounds awesome, Are you having fun? :)
How long until she writes a daily post? ;)
Perhaps because it lacks exercise for the neck.
To each his own, though.
Tired fun, but fun yes
only 6575 days until you can tell her it's time to move out of home :)
He he
Thats not many! Better get dadding!
Have you practiced you dad dancing?
#planning
few more months of that ahead :-)
:D
F1 on front page, does not happen that often over here ....
http://twitpic.com/5dr6gq
An HKGP in the New Territories would be very interesting, but I don't think Shanghai would be too pleased.
Happy Father's Day from Sunny, Marmot-infested Tundraland, everyone....
The Marmots got displaced from "Parc Drapeau Rouge!"...... :P
well it looked quite good in Central yesterday :-)
Interesting!
Also havent heard about that story to the left of it being reported anywhere!
Jaime often does....
Damn his youth.
Thats where it would have to be!
right though the centre of town over the tram tracks and amongst the bright lights :)
oh, the shooting on Asiana airliner ..., not good when country can't recognize their own airliners
yesterday the run was on a new road, now middle of construction site but soon middle of new waterfront. the background was amazing (if you looked in the right directions :-) ) . still can't believe that minimal promotion still attracted 43,000 people ...
Watch out amy! Your plane will likely have a big splodge of red which wont help matters!
Somehow, I just don't think that will happen. Unless they can clear out a space for the pitlane ala Singapore.
:)
anything can happen here as long as it brings money. problem with F1 is it needs public money ... and that sort of spending would be very very hard sell over here. people march the streets protesting much lesser expenses ...
Hi again :)
Congrats Alex and Kat!
We have had a few people in our office have babies in the past couple of years and there has been a little fun game of "who can email a pic back to the office fastest after birth". Seeing as that first post was 7hr 50min after, that completely blows away any attempt in our office!
Wow! Giggles, Jr, huh ?
Congrats Alex and Kat!
Introducing my new blog: http://martif1.com/
You'll find you can translate it, althought you may struggle a bit while reading the translation.
Hope you enjoy it :)
The first post is quite off-topic, I had to write something down to test how the blog worked ;)
Where is the people :'(?
am disappointed he didn't ustream it.
Time to the time (not sure if that makes sense)...
I wouldn't be surprised if one day Nina appear's in one of the Giggles' shows ;)
cool! this can be my spanish wednesday in amanda's absence.
Yes, I've read some of his posts.
What has happened to her?
just busy with work for the minute. comments occasionally though.
mark hughes (steven's doppleganger), has written a book about the bass player from Free. whut?
http://bradspurgeon.com/2011/06/19/all-right-now-inside-scoop-on-the-life-of-andy-fraser-of-free/
Ah ok. Do you know if she lives here in Spain?
I guess you won't run to the stores to buy it, hehe
i think germany, but contact details are on her blog: http://myrubber-soul.blogspot.com/
i love the sound of it, i like people in f1 doing non-motorsport things. this just surprised me :)
Can I write my next book on the Backstreet Boys? :)
...
err
Luckily you were not in Singapore 2009.
Apparently there was a concert of that band: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vv3uPctd9BA
It seems the crowd is asleep :P
Dream Theater would be better :)
Never heard of them. Will Google.
oh dear!
They are a hard-rock/heavy metal american band.
This one is quite slow: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-boKk8uhmcY
hmmm, this is heavy as this get around here: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6gfrc_metallica-nothing-else-matters_music
rock on ;)
Nice song.
I love drummer's headphones-hat :P
Enjoy a little something from the sidepodcast.com back catalogue.

Yes, they are very talented, although Mike Portnoy (drummer) has left the band.
You can search on YouTube and you'll find the castings they did to find a new one ;)
Afternoon all.
I see we have a new commentator and our youngest ever I think.
Congrats to Alex and Kat and welcome Nina
Hi Steven.
Yes, it seems we have a new commentator who has his own website :)
Coincedentally I deleted about 3 albums worth of their stuff off my iPod this morning. Weird.
Her own website surely
Just a standard sidepodcast co-incidence.
Heheh very true :)
Oooh, Wimbledon starts tomorrow. Who's going to volunteer to write the first post? :)
Not me.
I am surprised not to have seen a post on the controversy about Aston Villa's new manager
Not me neither :(
I'll be quite busy tomorrow, and plus, I don't often watch tennis on TV :S
People say he is not good enough for the team. I wouldn't know either way!
I thought you supported the team :|
People don't have to NOT volunteer, I'm looking for positives.
The main problem is the fact he came from Aston Villa's biggest local rivals. It's like Ron Dennis joining Ferrari or something.
They are my team, yes. Support would be pushing it.
Message understood.
Now I really want Ron Dennis to join Ferrari.
I'm definitely volunteering but I'm a little bit busy with other things tonight. Can I write Tuesdays?
:)
That would be awesome.

The problem is he resigned from local rivals Birmingham City by e-mail after getting them relegated. They had already signed 3 new players for next season that he wanted and the chairman was in Holland signing a 4th when he got the e-mail. He is a good manager but he has a more defensive style of play.
I know more this year so my posts won't even be a case of 'It's day # of Wimbledon! What's a break point? What's an umpire? Do they buy the little people on the side of the pitch from a factory?'
...actually, it may still be clueless. But I have watched a lot more tennis this year so they will hopefully make more sense :)
That would be a slightly bigger shock
it would cause a lifetime of minion confusion moment.
Hello again
Did I miss the Montreal Debrief or is it still unwatched?
Watched. Then Joe. Hopefully this evening.
All abilities welcome :)
Breaking news! Then I may be able to sleep tonight listening to F1 :)
Thanks Christine
Might be published tomorrow though Marti
I can't stop playing Army of Darkness [free on the App Store today]
It's brilliant
Working on my blog.
I want to create a page where I'll talk about the F1 books I've read.
I saw you were looking for someone to write tomorrows wimbledon post christine, did you find anyone?
Not yet.
i'll do it if you want :) am more than happy to write about Rafa and Murray :)
Woohoo!
i was looking at the shedule earlier and i'm kinda excited. hoping to head to wimbledon tuesday but it's gonna cost me a ridiculous amount to even get there early in the morning. am in a tennisy mood as i try and plan :)
How early are you getting there?
#needsmorespontaneous
:P
the site recommends you get their to queue for ground tickets by at least 8.30am.. so no off peak trains for me!
Ooooh dear, productivity levels falling... totally distracted now because I'm having an argument with Cleverbot :D
Who?
Christine, how early would you like the post to be scheduled for? 10am ? the earliest matches start at 12, but Rafa on centre court doesn't start till 1pm.
Is he one of those smart computers who talk and talk?
Hey Bassano!
Online bot that chats to you.
http://www.cleverbot.com/
It's so distracting but it makes me laugh :)
10 or 11 sounds good.
okay :) well bbc coverage starts at 10:35 i see so will make sure there is a post in case anyone wants to follow the build up too.yaay for Wimbledon being awesome!
Bassano:
I am thinking of Blogging a Client Eastwood movie later tonight. Choices are: Kelly's Heros or Heartbreak Ridge. YOur thoughts please....
Hi Jordan
Ping: http://martif1.com/2011/06/19/leyendo-la-f1/
New post on my blog, about a new section on the page (F1 books I've read).
If you don't understand Spanish you can use the translator ;)
Heartbreak Ridge, withput a Brussel
*without
"Sorry, I am too busy to think right now"
What?
Took me a minute to figure out the Brussel. Never heard that one before
what is a Brusset ? Have you seen "The Deep" again and can not get a certain "Jacqueline" out of you mind, now ?
Without a Brussel Sprout = doubt
Yay! The translator works :)
How cool is this!
When your sponsor owns the Burj Al Arab... http://ow.ly/i/dbLB
It works, but I think his translation is a little bit sui generis hehe
I see, why the Aussie speak ?
It's not Aussie
I thought you meant it didn't have Jean Claude Van Damme.
Evening.
:D
Hi Pat
Cleverbot doesn't seem very clever. I asked it if it liked Brussel Sprouts and it's been thinking about it for 2mins
Hahaha. I'm trying to talk about f1 and it keeps going off on random subjects. Although it did say it's a schumi fan.
I said 'Hi' to him and his answer was...
I think SPC has broken it, getting nothing now
SPC?
Sidepocast
*sidepodcast
It works, at least for me :s
Hi Pat.
That would make it a bad movie, just think, another "punk" who "feels lukcy...." :P
I just thought Bassano misspelt "Bisset"
As in the movie the Deep. I have to admit she's a bit of a pain in the neck in Bullet.
Evening.
Hi Pat
You're obssessed :D
No. It is justthat there's no F1 today, no Giggles Radio and I have not been diving in about a couple of weeks now.
It may be a few weeks before Giggles Radio appears. At least
There is an Indycar race in 45 minutes
We got rained on at golf, but only briefly, then it got sunny with high winds which was most distracting. Started well, fell flat in the middle, recovered at the end and then had a Guinness at the 19th hole..
Then cake at my grandparent's place.
We may be lucky and see a new radio-journalist in the next show :) (I don't know what's the correct word, as you may have guessed)
Who won the game?
Apparently it is a little later than that, have just been arguing the toss on Twitter. :) Turns out Milwaukee is on Central time not Eastern.
Bassano: 19/06/2011 at 19:47:32
I am kind of hoping that Giggles sends off Nina to a Broading school so that we can have Giggles radio soonest, actually, either way, I am looking at about another 13 years, I am afraid.....
....And you can not figure out how brillant it was to cast Julie Hagerty in Airplane! untilk you have seen Bissett in Airport.
I do not like short ovals, Steven. I get dizzy watching the cars go around in circles.... :P
According to Indycar.com it is on abc at 3:30 ET but that may just be the start of the program rather than the race
I think the race is at 3 local which is 4 ET which is 9 here.
Leaves enough time for a post-golf shower and a cup of tea!
Yeah, ABC' likes to do pre-race shows if I recall...Anyway, I have just found a can of Tamiya Sea Blue paint. I wonder how dark and what hue a blue it will be when it dries?
Makes sense
I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have enjoyed that show :)
Hi Alex!
Congratulations :D :D
Hi Alex
How are the family?
Congratulations
Yay, 3 cheers for ALex & Kat!
Hey, how is the new Father?
It seems the new father is gone.
He has a new 24h job ;)
Nice name, Nina.
In Catalan, 'Nina' meens doll :)
We're all fine thanks for all the congrats and support :)
You might think that there is no way I can link the baby to Formula 1 but then hey this is Giggles the Link making machine here!
In the taxi back and forth to the hospital I've been hearing this thing called commercial radio. And on commercial radio vodafone have an advert which mentions a competition for your small or medium sized business to get it's name on the side of the McLaren at Silverstone.
Here's the competition winner announcement from last year.
Maybe Sidepodcast is a small or medium sized business?
1970 world champion Jochen Rindt's wife was called Nina
Good one!
McLaren's car in F1 2010 is a rubbish... I can't believe it is so slow.
I wonder how Lou would take to supporting Ferrari
http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/19062011/58/button-targeted-ferrari.html
at least they have a good national anthem?.. JB wouldn't move to Ferrari.. he's too nice to split Massa and Rob up :)
You wouldn't like a JB and Rob combination?
There's nothing like the start of the Monaco GP in the F1 2010 computer game.
It's a massive caos.
it would be too strange.. JB doesn't need someone to tell him when to turn DRS on... Rob wouldn't know what to do! ;)
Hello everyone.
Hey Rg. How was Croft?
:D
Hi RG
Evening RG :)
Racing was excellent. The weather was annoying, since I had to keep opening/closing it every ten minutes. Apart from that, great. Although it was insane getting out, took 90 minutes to leave car park alone... big crash just outside in Northallerton and it made me miss the start of the golf. #unhappy
JB in a Ferrari ????
Not like the first time there is an Englishman in a Ferrari.....
Long as McLaren is crushed I say. I would still prefer Williams doing the crushing, but hey......
I knocked up a quick live thread :)
Ping - http://sidepodcast.com/post/live-2011-milwaukee-225
Bye bye everyone :)
Have a good start of the week ;)
Congratulations Alex and Kat.
My sister is a Nina too. Ninas are great!!!
i don't believe it'll happen. JB seems super settled in mclaren. 3 brilliant races in a row compared to Lewis' erm.. crashes.
see ya! you too!
Bye Marti
Booooo for long traffic waits to get hoome but at least it sounds like you still had a great day. And golf now for you to enjoy, win win ;)
Aye, very true.
See ya Marti.
Croft often has good racing (not that I saw any this year), shame about the weather though. Traffic at UK circuits is always a pain.
I new someone would have a Nina in their family
I didn't really mind the weather considering when I first went it was torrential rain all day. So this was nice and beautiful in comparison ;)
Eeeevening :)
I saw today a story on the front of the Sun Times about the beeb dropping the F1 so it doesn't have to close BBC4. Seems an odd thing to put on the front page of all places if it wasn't more fact than fiction?
Well, I think I will see if that Indycar race is live.......
See everyone later.
Bye Jordan
Hey all. Too hot outside, think I'll watch a little Indycar
There was a forum post I read earlier that disproved most of what it said, pretty much a load of nonsense I'd say.
The story isbeing run by News Corp publication and Murdoch is supposed to be trying to buy the commercial rights from CVC so they have their own agenda and want F1 on Sky
This is what annoys me with newspapers. Pretty much propaganda they want people to believe.
Did some intervals earlier: http://runkeeper.com/user/RubberGoat/activity/40005724
What GPS do you use. I have an old Garmin.
Just the RunKeeper App on the iPhone. It works pretty neat.
Unwilling to drag my phone on my runs. I know I can post my runs to facebook, wonder if I can shoot it over here. The Hooters Half-marathon would have been a great post
Yeah I know what you mean. But I don't get many calls and I don't use my phone much for it, so I just stick it on my armband and put a podrunner mix on.
Not concerned about calls, my GPS is wrist mounted and light, so I'll stick with that. But I'll investigate posting
Good grief, these shows just keep getting longer.
Ooooh promising :)
Much editing ahead?
I've just watched Hammond Vs Moss too and it's such a good programme. Really fascinating to hear them talk about how they recovered from their crashes.
Gah, Hammond MEETS Moss. I dunno why I keep saying Vs, I promise I don't want them to fight.
There might be an outtake or two.
Woohoo!
Awesome
I love the outtakes when they are not me :)
:D
Love to see that. I see some clips on YouTube, but iPlayer doesn't work for me.
Someone should tell the BBC to show it again in 2 weeks time so you can see it :)
It is a fabulous program
Jenson has been watching baseball. Wrong team though
http://twitter.com/JensonButton/status/82558905170919424
Best tweet ever.
http://twitter.com/rubarrichello/status/82561574337916928
Hehehehe!
The simplicity makes me smile :)
Rubens seems to be the only person on twitter who is not going on about an Irish golfer
Seems he's watching Indy Car. Quite frankly he should be in the race thread commenting :)
Thanks for the thread, Pat. You are awesome as ever :)
christine is taking the mickey. crocheting whilst editing debrief?
not.impressing.anyone.
Christine can crochet AND do something else.. i can barely knit and breath let alone edit a podcast!
Am learning, so there's not so much actual crocheting going on :)
How?
if it's anything like knitting dropping a stitch means tears.... or that could just be me.
... i can't knit..
Hehe. I am at the stage of basic stitch over and over at the moment. That's all I know. :)
It's also worth saying Mr C and I appear to be going through a good patch of podcast recording at the moment. When we get going on a subject, there's not so much editing required.
i know nothing about crochet :( so you know more than i do! :)
My friend's mum is always crocheting and it looks so impressive.. as does my aunt (the one with the cute dog!) when she knits. She knitted a small stuffed golfer, including little knitted golfbag and clubs during 4 days away when she was the support team for my cousin's bike ride from Lands End to Folkestone. She's too good at knitting!
... i'll be expecting a crocheted F1 car soon Christine! :)
ohh! not much editing means less post work for you! yaaay! :)
It may also mean longer shows... which we dislike but everyone else seems fond of.
podcast guess for this week: 1hr 15mins. eek.
nooo that's awesome!! the debrief and the joe show will be my companions in the Wimbledon queue! :)
1hr 08 for me :)
1 hour 17
Depends.. only if there are special circumstances, I mean something like Bahrain counts as special circumstances and a long rain delay does as well.
I was listening to an IndyCar podcast the other day which was 90 minutes long, it felt too long..
It's not going to be 90 minutes. Nu uh.
Unless you accidentally crochet an extra 20 minutes into it
Hi Everyone.
I will go with the 7 minute spread guessing game and grab the 1 hour, 22 minute time slot please...
