Although it was raining in Jerez yesterday, it was intermittent and that meant we saw a good bit of running, even if it wasn't representative of anything. Virgin Racing are still struggling, and they are who I am keeping my eye on today. I hope you'll join me in the dedicated testing thread to do the same (or similar for whichever team you're interested in). Elsewhere:

  • We're also keeping an eye out for any US F1 related news, as the rumour mill is really hotting up that there are bad vibes coming from Peter Windsor and the team. There is nothing concrete, and it's all speculation at the moment, but this is a similar feeling to the one's that happened before Honda and before Toyota.
  • In better news, KerbRider gave us some more thoughts on the upcoming season in another great guest post - this time focusing on the relationships between the drivers in the four teams we'll all be watching closely. There are some interesting thoughts in there, and it's well worth a read. The inter-team relationships are going to be super important this year, I think.
  • We were curious why Lotus ran Fauzy on their first day of testing, particularly as Heikki was at Jerez, tweeting away from the garage. Apparently, the car lacked some power steering though, so perhaps Heikki didn't want to bother when the car wasn't going to be setup right? Either way, the new team did really well, certainly won the battle of the new boys in terms of first day of testing!
  • Dan Brunell has published this week's Thursday Thoughts question and it's a tough one. Head on over to his site for more detail, and leave a comment or blog your response before the end of today. Don't forget to plug like crazy if you take part.

That should do it for now. Let us know what you're up to, and how you're coping with horrible Thursday, and I will see you in the comments.

If I'm writing a blog post about contacting the new CEO of IndyCar, is this a terrible headline? I fear I know the answer..

Blame it on technical issues, no?

  • Dan Brunell18/02/2010 at 01:14

I feel bad, there are all these people coming out of the woodwork on twitter pleading for USF1 to keep the dream alive. Some have offered money, some to work for free, other kind words.

I am not going to lie, this is really heartbreaking. I knew the ship was sinking but to see it go under the waves is just sad.

  • RG18/02/2010 at 01:14

    From someone who is there:

"@SauberRG Yeah, I'm not at all convinced by that either but that's Lindsay's only event... whole Olympic build-up just for a DSQ"

    Shame that. :(

  • Alison18/02/2010 at 01:15

This Italian mafia style starter is much better.....

Apparently, Fauzy ran today's test to get his superlicense. So whoever joked about that earlier today may have been on to something... :D

And most of the Lotus folks have experience already from other teams. No wonder they seem to have the tightest ship of the new teams at this point.

"Do double cork or not to double cork"!

  • Steven Roy18/02/2010 at 01:27

I wish the BBC would just show events rather than talking about them. There is so much on right now and they are telling us stuff they have already told us ten times. No-one explains events in the summer Olympics.

This is the 100metres. 8 athletes line up behind a line then..and you need to pay attention to this bit they run ... as fast as they can ....to another line 100 metres(hence the name) from the start line.... Most importantly the person who gets to the finish wins.

  • Alison18/02/2010 at 01:27

    Ooooh nice moustache!!

I've seen the odd tweet and comment but haven't read the Auto news today

Adam Cooper's article thinks so. A shorter version has also been published on the SPEED website. Given their connections to PW, I think it's pretty much done and dusted.

I've seen the odd tweet and comment but haven't read the Auto news today

Not definitely but the sources are reputable. Adam Cooper ex-AUTOSPORT who works for SPEED TV said that J Lo had headed of to SPain to try and do a deal with Campos and elsewhere it is reported that Chad youtube is trying to place his sponsorship with other teams

  • Bassano18/02/2010 at 02:57

There may be a cheap Dallara soon

But likely it's way too late

  • jpancoast (Just rationalizing now)18/02/2010 at 03:00

There may be a cheap Dallara soon

But likely it's way too late

Well, if youtube boy starts getting involved with Campos that Dallara won't be there.

  • Steven Roy18/02/2010 at 03:01

Prodrive might kind of need a car.

There is no shortage of cars. Dallara have one and no-one paying the bills. Toyota have one that Stefan may or may not have paid for and of course DR may have been tipped off earlier and built his car on the quiet. Maybe the three race thing was for his benefit because of the late notice.

  • Bassano18/02/2010 at 03:01

Well, if youtube boy starts getting involved with Campos that Dallara won't be there.

Why not, it's probably almost ready

Though may be lacking in toast

  • Steven Roy18/02/2010 at 03:01

    My thoughts exactly

  • Journeyer18/02/2010 at 03:02

Why not, it's probably almost ready

Because youtube boy might have the money Campos needs to pay their bills.

  • Bassano18/02/2010 at 03:03

Because youtube boy might have the money Campos needs to pay their bills.

But they'd likely need the Dallara chassis to race, whatever they're called

To give you an idea, the BBC has the results of the 5000m short track up.

On NBC, they *just* started the race. The events aired live aren't even live.

  • Journeyer18/02/2010 at 03:03

Exactly. Youtube boy will provide said money to pay for that chassis.

  • Bassano18/02/2010 at 03:03

good question. his twitter account makes a mention of a company named Hlaska. no idea what it is, though.

its not breaking the rules because its an olympic concert. The halfpipe is in 10 min though, the course looks sweet in the dark.

I still can't believe he couldn't raise enough money for USF1. How hard can it be for someone like him to raise $50 million? With his contacts he should have raised that with a few phone calls.

blame it on the recession? i guess they just don't think it's worth the investment, when there could be most cost-efficient options in nascar.

Nascar is fine for the USA but the internet and computers are world wide. $5 million to get their name shown all round the world 17-19 times in a year is not a lot of money and that is before you look at the networking opportunities for them. 10 companies $5 million each and you have a basic budget. I still don't understand someone with his background can fail at that.

To me there are two big failures in this. One is Windsor and the other is Chad. In his position I would have been tempted to finance the first year myself to get it going rather than have the fanfare and fail before the car existed.

Good point. Even with the Cosworth thing, Prodrive and Lola were a lot safer bets.

Thing is, are they even interested to do it worldwide? These are US brands, remember. They tend to focus on US advertising only. How else is F1 as a whole struggling to get US sponsors?

The internet and electronics industry contacts he has advertise world wide. THe days when the USA was such a big market that they could ignore everything else is long gone because these companies are so big that they couldn't live if they only had the US market.

Thing is, are they even interested to do it worldwide? These are US brands, remember. They tend to focus on US advertising only. How else is F1 as a whole struggling to get US sponsors?

There are American sponsors in the sport like AT&T and Marlboro. The reason why we don't see more American companies in F1 is 1) The teams don't know how to sell the sport to people that don't know anything about F1. 2) Bernie does lift a finger to create an atmosphere that we see with FIFA, NFL, NBA, and MLB that actively work with teams and sponsors to keep everyone happy. 3) Open wheel racing is on life support over here.

  • Bassano18/02/2010 at 03:21

The internet and electronics industry contacts he has advertise world wide. The days when the USA was such a big market that they could ignore everything else is long gone because these companies are so big that they couldn't live if they only had the US market.

But who's left? Yahoo left, HP left, while other companies such as Amazon, Apple, IBM, Microsoft and Google haven't bothered to come over. Why the lack of interest?

  • Dan Brunell18/02/2010 at 03:24

    oh lordy... tough one.

I've sitting on that column forever.

  • Journeyer18/02/2010 at 03:25

There are American sponsors in the sport like AT&T and Marlboro. The reason why we don't see more American companies in F1 is 1) The teams don't know how to sell the sport to people that don't know anything about F1. 2) Bernie does lift a finger to create an atmosphere that we see with FIFA, NFL, NBA, and MLB that actively work with teams and sponsors to keep everyone happy. 3) Open wheel racing is on life support over here.

Even Marlboro is on its way out with the tobacco ban. But good points all.

  • Dan Brunell18/02/2010 at 03:26

But who's left? Yahoo left, HP left, while other companies such as Amazon, Apple, IBM, Microsoft and Google haven't bothered to come over. Why the lack of interest?

Amazon: bezos is a cheap jerk who doesn't lift a finger for anyone.

    IBM: Don't know.

Microsoft and Google: These guys make sense. Especially with a lot of Google Touches and XBoxes to sell.

  • Steven Roy18/02/2010 at 03:26

There are American sponsors in the sport like AT&T and Marlboro.

There are also companies like Intel and AMD who have been involved recently. If they are getting a return then so should other similar companies.

    2) Bernie does lift a finger to create an atmosphere that we see with FIFA, NFL, NBA, and MLB that actively work with teams and sponsors to keep everyone happy.

That is never going to happen. F1 is never going to be like a US sport. US sports have a culture that is unlike anything found elsewhere in the world and I really don't believe that companies who operate and sell all round the globe are going to be put off by the lack of that atmosphere as they are used to not having it.

  • me18/02/2010 at 03:27

Microsoft and Google: These guys make sense. Especially with a lot of Google Touches and XBoxes to sell.

microsoft helped make the standard ecu in every F1 car, and even they aren't interested in the free publicity.

  • Journeyer18/02/2010 at 03:28

There are also companies like Intel and AMD who have been involved recently. If they are getting a return then so should other similar companies.

Intel's gone too. Reason I heard from inside the company is that they're not getting the returns they wanted. AMD has also vanished from Ferrari's overalls.

  • Steven Roy18/02/2010 at 03:28

But who's left? Yahoo left, HP left, while other companies such as Amazon, Apple, IBM, Microsoft and Google haven't bothered to come over. Why the lack of interest?

There are all sorts of manufacturing companies in the elctronics industry who should be in F1 and then there are the big internet brands and those with ambition to be big.

  • Bassano18/02/2010 at 03:29

    Halfpipe on the website now

    Olympic sweeping on Freeview

    Ah, found it on BBC2

  • Journeyer18/02/2010 at 03:29

microsoft helped make the standard ecu in every F1 car, and even they aren't interested in the free publicity.

Just that single case study for corporate sales. And that's it.

  • Dan Brunell18/02/2010 at 03:29

That is never going to happen. F1 is never going to be like a US sport. US sports have a culture that is unlike anything found elsewhere in the world and I really don't believe that companies who operate and sell all round the globe are going to be put off by the lack of that atmosphere as they are used to not having it.

This is invading another column I've been working on, but what I mean by atmosphere is that the league and teams work together to bring sponsors in and keep them happy. The power of the sport is sold instead of the popularity of the team. That the secret to NASCAR.

  • Dan Brunell18/02/2010 at 03:30

microsoft helped make the standard ecu in every F1 car, and even they aren't interested in the free publicity.

I asked their company governmental affairs staff person about that last week, and she didn't know they did that.

  • Bassano18/02/2010 at 03:30

. That the secret to NASCAR.

    But that's boring as hell

The ads per lap show who's boss

  • Steven Roy18/02/2010 at 03:31

Microsoft and Google: These guys make sense. Especially with a lot of Google Touches and XBoxes to sell.

If Bernie had been on top of the F1 game over the past few years he should be trying to point X-Box, Nintendo etc at different teams to keep them all happy

  • Journeyer18/02/2010 at 03:32

If Bernie had been on top of the F1 game over the past few years he should be trying to point X-Box, Nintendo etc at different teams to keep them all happy

We didn't even have an F1 game again until last year. This is a quantum leap for him.

  • Dan Brunell18/02/2010 at 03:32

    But that's boring as hell

The ads per lap show who's boss

Say what you want about NASCAR (I don't like it) but they know how to make money.

It's annoying, but it F1 had only 1/5th of that reverence to their sponsors, we would never have a blank and empty car.

  • Steven Roy18/02/2010 at 03:33

This is invading another column I've been working on, but what I mean by atmosphere is that the league and teams work together to bring sponsors in and keep them happy. The power of the sport is sold instead of the popularity of the team. That the secret to NASCAR.

Never going to happen in a European run sport. It is not how the culture works in any major European sport

I agree with you. That the problem when you have someone like Bernie and CVC in charge. As Joe says, too much money is being taken out of the sport that don't deserve it.

All Max's fault but Bernie owned Max. I posted a comment last night from somewhere that said CVC made something like £297 million from F1 rights last year. Max sold Bernie 100 years of rights for $300 million. Is it any wonder money is going out of the sport.

  • Steven Roy18/02/2010 at 03:40

It not like Bernie and CVC isn't even doing a good job in my opinion. If any reasonable sports management company was managing F1, I guarantee that we would have a F1 game, High Def TV, paid-per-view steaming video, ect, ect, ect.

I have written so many comments over the years on all the opportunities he has missed. Look at Ferrari world in Abu Dhabi. Every year F1 teams produce 50? cars that are obsolete 12 months later. Bernie has been running the sport for 20 years so that is 1000 cars that are obsolete so why are there not F1 museums all round the world with cars, race suits, helmets, pit equipment etc etc with a simulator room and a kart track. Cost to F1 next to nothing and guaranteed to draw crowds and sell merchandise.

He has finally sorted out a game but why is there not an online game with competitions where the winners get to race online with Hamilton etc who race online anyway then once or twice a year give away circuit rides or kart races.

  • Steven Roy18/02/2010 at 03:46

I don't think he did. He contributed but so did lots of other people. He is a dinosaur who knows one trick and has been holding the sport back for 20 years.

    Morning everyone :)

  • RubberGoat18/02/2010 at 08:40

    I've just read Dieter Rencken's column: http://www.autosport.com/features/article.php/id/2636

And there's a bit at the end that is very interesting:

But, it has not been plain sailing for Stefanovic and his team in Belgrade: scheduled to test at Portimao from 25–28 February ahead of shipping its cars, the team may not have rubber to do so, for, according to a Bridgestone spokesperson, "Bridgestone supplies F1 tyres only to those teams which are officially entered into the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship," clarifying with "Basically we are contracted to the FIA to supply tyres to those teams which are entered officially into the championship" – which Stefan GP is not (yet).

It is not, though, clear whether any clauses specifically prohibit Bridgestone from supplying F1-specification tyres to Stefan GP, although Bridgestone Motorsport confirmed that, after consultations with Japan, "[we] would not be willing to supply GP2 tyres either".

This despite Bridgestone making GP2 tyres available to Ferrari's Clienti Corse division for use by Felipe Massa on an F2007 during the Brazilian's recent recovery period.

Now why would Bridgestone kick up a fuss about this I wonder? Has the FIA put pressure on them because they don't want Stefan to be there or to run as a test team outside of the F1 rules?

  • RubberGoat18/02/2010 at 08:40

They bent over backwards to let Brawn in last year, apparently.

I guess what it boils down to is that F1 is a club and you need to earn your membership. Just having two F1 cars and possible resources may not be enough if the establishment doesn't like you...

Surely BMW Sauber's name will change, the team's are surely not that pedantic about preventing the name change are they? You would think the manufacturers would be keen for BMW not to be getting advertising, especially Ferrari. It must Sauber's choice - part of the agreement of the cut price sale?

What I like about Stefan GP is that so many people seem to think it is Stephen GP - and he just sounds like a doctor

  • Journeyer18/02/2010 at 09:34

If you read my comment, that's what I am implying. Ross Brawn is a respected member of 'the club' while Stefan isn't...

    Agreed.

Ah yes, but i dont think its just f1 people, its about profile. For example Tony Fernandes had little to do with the sport beyond low level sponsorship at Williams and now he is a team owner, had it been another Malaysian it might not have been so smooth

  • Nick in Dubai18/02/2010 at 09:48

He probably trusted Ken Anderson too much.

  • Dan Brunell18/02/2010 at 09:49

But that's the thing. You would think Peter Windsor would know the ropes?

Peter Windsor only knows how to BS. Anderson only knows how to design. None of them were businessmen. Chad Hurley got suckered in.

If it was Roger Penske, Ganassi, de Ferrain, or Hendricks... this team would be ready to go.

Because it gets in the way! everyone decides that snow = bad and everything stops. it's unecessary. some of our buses have already stopped because of this as mininal as it is at the moment. Plus I want it to be gone by the weekend so I can see Lou :(

Yeah that does suck. I don't think I have had a train run on time since December!

  • Maverick18/02/2010 at 12:14

I'm hoping for either lots of snow, or no snow... anything in between means everyone will still go to work but drive at 2 mph whereas on the heaviest snow days this year I've managed to drive to work in record time

On my train, half of the carriages are left unheated. This makes me very happy because if I sit there, nobody sits next to you because they can't stand the cold!

Yeah my main problem with snow on the roads, is the standard of other peoples driving.... It's often so slow as to be dangerous. Driving on snow is common sense stuff.

We had a bus full of Danish tourists crash in Germany for this very reason, sadly.

    Dreary. We've got heavy rain.

That's an odd one that. They're supposed to have anti-collision systems if a train runs a red light. Do what I do and sit at the back ;)

  • Journeyer18/02/2010 at 12:33

    So... hang on,

    The Stefan-JV news was serious?!

  • Lukeh18/02/2010 at 12:35

    The Stefan-JV news was serious?!

what an odd article, based on rumours and a quote from chandok. Hmm.

  • Maverick18/02/2010 at 12:35

    The Stefan-JV news was serious?!

Can anything regarding Stefan be considered serious? It'll be Nigel Mansell driving for them tomorrow...

  • Journeyer18/02/2010 at 12:35

    And:

    Campos set for takeover

If true, Senna keeps his seat, while Chandhok has to go up against Bertrand the Bread for the second seat.

  • RG18/02/2010 at 12:36

Bertrand the Bread for the second seat.

Wasn't that the same chap who said he was 96% sure of joining Sauber though.

  • Journeyer18/02/2010 at 12:36

Can anything regarding Stefan be considered serious? It'll be Nigel Mansell driving for them tomorrow...

I was asking earlier why JV didn't take over USF1 and make it B.A.R 2.0. Maybe it's because he will do precisely that with this team instead...

  • Journeyer18/02/2010 at 12:37

Dieter Rencken helped write the article. We trust him, right?

  • Journeyer18/02/2010 at 12:38

Wasn't that the same chap who said he was 96% sure of joining Sauber though.

Indeed so. What an odd number to choose - 96.

  • Lukeh18/02/2010 at 12:39

Dieter Rencken helped write the article. We trust him, right?

I'm not saying he's not a credible writer or anything, just comes across as a very... GMM style article. Perhaps it's my own utter pessimism that Stefan would even consider Villeneuve.

    Still, they mentioned Ralf, so...

  • RubberGoat18/02/2010 at 12:40

    And:

Shame that they can't make it on their own. Unlike USF1, I think these guys got unlucky as they expected a budget cap and a Senna to bring some cash...

Good point on the former, but the latter was their decision all the way.

Still, give them credit for finding a way, which is more than can be said for USF1.

The quote from the 'anonymous insider' on that ESPN story about USF1 comes from an email that's been doing the rounds for a couple of days now. It's quite damning, to the extent that I'm not surprised it's been kept under wraps. It's got 'WRIT' writ large all over it.

    or the remaining 16.

    (I hope thats the right amount) {Comment #77}

If USF1 are planning on skipping so many as 4 races, they'll miss every other race that F1 will ever have, so the numerical amount (if above 3) is largely academic. (That said, 16 + 3 = 19, so if you meant USF1 won't be doing F1 2009, you are absolutely right).

Oh, fair enough. I'm waiting for something a bit more concrete really. Poised to make a breakout thread, no actual evidence to do it on.

Quick note for the day shift as I keep forgetting to plug my stuff outside of evenings..

Since we're all watching NASCAR now, you may like to have a go at my game. :) The next 2 weeks are NASCAR-only, after that the fun and high scores will begin with F1 and IndyCar, so why not get some early points on the board? Doesn't matter if you don't follow NASCAR, just pick Montoya and 6 random others to tide you over until the F1 ;)

    http://toomuchracing.com/2010/02/17/tmr-game-week-4

Also on the site: a plea to get in touch with the new IRL CEO in this new era of supposed fan interaction, and a via the header are two new sub-pages showing more info about the game and an Extras page with my 'rules of the blog/twitter...sort of'.

I may be guilty of going on about this a little too much, for which I apologise.

  • Alex Andronov18/02/2010 at 16:48

Not sure if any of you caught the Maurace Hamilton Twitter / Private Eye coversation from earlier. Here is the article:

There's no love lost between Observer hacks and their Guardian

gangmasters, so when the Observer's veteran motor racing correspondent

Maurace Hamilton heard of the departure of Grauniad sports supremo Ben

Clissitt last month, he hastened to share the good news with his

twitter followers. "Guardian sports editor is leaving. Result!!!"

Four days later he tweeted again. "En route to Valence and start of

Monte Carlo Rally. Possible 1st Brit win since '68. Guardian sport not

    interested."

A week later Hamilton was called in by the Grauniad's deputy sports

editor Adam Sills to be told that - purely as a cost-saving measure,

of course, and nothing whatever to do with any Twittery

insubordination - his contract was being terminated, after 20 years at

    the Observer. Result!!!

without reading any more comments I would like to argue with my own comment. Of course he can change his mind and decide to report in a different way. And maybe that's what happened. Personally I was werided out by somebody seemingly rejoicing in a collegue losing their job. I can understand being happy. But that seemed a bit mean so put me on edge.

    Interesting post from Joe

    The latest from Jerez

The fastest time today was from the Williams of Rubens Barrichello. This may or may not be significant but the word on the street is that the Williams is a pretty good car and more or less on a par with the McLarens in terms of speed. Down at Red Bull I hear that, off the record, they are a little disappointed with the pace of the new car...

    Yabbaa dabba dooo!

  • Journeyer18/02/2010 at 18:05

Imagine if Honda pulled out one year then someone replaced their engine and won the championship then the following year Toyota pulled out and someone replaced their engine and won the championship.

never-ending Japanese shame that would be. even more so if Kobayashi proves to be quick.

  • Bassano18/02/2010 at 18:05

because that makes the renault pretty hopeless.

    Also:

Mercedes GP will be OK but it is not sensational. The Ferrari is definitely a fast car but people keep telling me that it is in trouble with fuel consumption over race distances. ...Renault is not saying much but will probably not be anything more than solid.

  • Bassano18/02/2010 at 18:06

Ferrari always used to struggle with fuel consumption in the V12 & V10 days

  • RG18/02/2010 at 18:06

Kobayashi will be quick. Sauber lap times are perfectly fine, we have plenty of sponsorship.

Last year, pre-season testing gave us a pretty good idea of everyone's pace (i.e. Brawn on top). We just didn't really believe.

We may not even get a decent idea this time round.

agreed. but i get the impression he's not all that bothered, so if his boss was also useless, that's two birds down.

My point is... that we all have to face situations where we have to be professional in our conduct... My first impression was, "oh he wasn't being professional". Then I realised, "he's decided to do something else why not go for it". Hence my criticism of my own first comment - if that makes sense.

I worry though that given it's available in plain ol' .pdf format, it'll appear on all manner of illicit websites and torrent thingies quicker than I can read the front cover.

Though I have it on good authority that someone will be keeping a watchful eye on such shenanigans, if that’s possible?

Exactly. There's a chap on the Autosport forums (no names mentioned) that is a journalist from some central European country and is known to rip off English websites for his gain. Rightfully, he was getting just a little bit too excited about the prospect of the mag being available online!

People need to slow down production. I can't cope. I just found a new space site from Dr Kiki's Science hour (possibly the best non-sidepodcast podcast on the web) that is going make a lot of my time disappear.

All sorts of ways that people who are not specialist or qualified to get involved in space research. I can see my life disappearing.

I used my D60 at the McLaren launch for the pics I took. Paid for itself that day. Now I need to buy some faster lenses, something that stops around 1.8 or 2.8. 2 if poss and 24-70 and a super telephoto, around 300+

    BRRRRRRRRR!!

I couldn't think of a smart response to that so I did a search. 34,000 hits for BRRRRRRRRR!!. Who'd've thunk it?

    Ha ha

    From @GrandPrixDiary

    RT@clubforce: Adrians been telling us that he wants a podium this year. >> And I want to marry Keira Knightley but it's not going to happen. {Comment #1268}

Be fair - if Fisi had told GrandPrixDiary he wanted a podium this time last year he'd probably have received the same response, but it still happened...

  • Bassano18/02/2010 at 23:26

will do. although maybe when it goes "live". at the moment it's just a list of comments.

Think of it as a 'teaser'

I hope Adrian gets it too

But it is a funny tweet

We saw that last night. If you read her twitter stream it looks like her decision because she said the night before that she would make an announcement and then in the morning said she quit. She later said that she may do another motor sport show. Bye EJ

  • Bassano18/02/2010 at 23:29

    Bye EJ

    Ooh, that'd be good

But not this year, they already announced everyone would be staying

  • lou18/02/2010 at 23:30

    that would be awesome!! ;)

I am sure Suzi can deal with him. She is used to dealing with bikers so he is easy

If it is a problem she could replace Legard and commentate with Brundle

    She's a show host not a commentator

But yeah, can't be worse the JL

I'm sure she could. Watching DC hit on people makes me feel ill though. I'd rather keep him well away....

Have you ever known anyone that has worked on?

    Yes, actually

For the first two years, anyway

  • Alison18/02/2010 at 23:37

    Yes, actually

    Blimey.

One of my friends just got married to a proper womaniser. I'm not sure why you'd put up with it.

  • Bassano18/02/2010 at 23:37

Lou: You won't be taking exams in late May, will you?

Thinks now: I can change him

Thinks Later: He's not the man I married

    :D

  • Steven Roy18/02/2010 at 23:39

Doesn't make any difference. I knew a guy who was married 3 times before he was 30 and all three of the wives thought he wouldn't do it to them

  • lou18/02/2010 at 23:40

no, my 2 paper based exams are in June, nothing to stop me coming up to london that evening :)

Adam Cooper reckons a Lopez/Campos/Hurley/Kolles deal will be announced "sooner rather than later". Lopez and Hurley's reps have been to see Bernie.

When Windsor writes a book about it I suppose.

  • Steven Roy19/02/2010 at 00:12

Presumably he has to go public before Campos announce J Lo or the media will decend on him and he will have to fight a defensive action

  • Steven Roy19/02/2010 at 00:13

Skeleton coming up now on BBC2

I wonder if Nick's aware that the Australian V8 Supercars are racing in Abu Dhabi this weekend? Practice took place today. :P

It's a shame that there's an ever decreasing amount of Fords in the field. I just counted and there's 10 Falcons compared to the 19 Holden Commodores. Personally, I'm a Blue Oval man myself.

Yah he's heading over on Saturday I think. One of his friends gave him a free ticket.

  • Alison19/02/2010 at 01:08

Having said that, perhaps this was just to stop me giving him grief!

  • Scott Woodwiss19/02/2010 at 01:09

Awesome. He should be in for a real treat. The Aussie V8s are epic. :P

  • Scott Woodwiss19/02/2010 at 01:18

Ooh, just remembered, saw Dad last night and he gave me one of these:

    http://www.sekonda.co.uk/index.php?fuseaction=Range.view&ID=1&SubCat=3&ModelID=384

He won it at Palmer Sport for being the instuctor with the best feedback and seeing as he already has a Seiko Honda F1 Racing watch which he wears all the time, he said if I liked it and wanted it, I could have it. I'd been thinking to myself that I needed a nice watch, so how coincidental's that? :P

Plus I think it kinda fits in with Classic Team Lotus a bit, what with it being black and gold like the JPS colours :)
