We have reached Thursday once again, and it seems to have been a bit of a trying week for a lot of commentors so far. Let's hope that Terrible Thursday isn't too bad this time round. What we'll do to ward off the evil spirits, is talk about Formula 1!
- It's all about new and young test drivers today, with Toro Rosso confirming they'll run Bortolotti and Renault planning to give 3.5 series champ Baguette a go. Oh dear, just think of the headlines there will be! That name is pun-tastic.
- After reports over the previous few days have suggested that N.Technology's claim against the FIA has been rejected, it looks like the decision hasn't actually been made yet. Joe believes the rumoured answer is what is going to happen, but we won't find out till tomorrow.
- Grosjean is the latest victim to undergo the Ask the Expert quiz on F1.com. He doesn't do particularly well, only coming joint 14th with Barrichello and Vettel. Can't quite believe they ask a Frenchman lots of questions and don't mention Franck.
That'll do it for now. Don't forget that if you use the doohickey, Mr C has made a few changes so that links now do the drop.io lightbox cool thing rather than opening in a new tab. Have a play around and I'll see you in the comments.
Best comment ever on Joes blog...
"A leak to the press? Regarding an FIA case? Shurely shome mishtake?"
Private Eye reader obviously
and/or a shaun connery wannabe
The phrase has been a Private Eye standard for decades
even the FIA bit?
@Jon
Did you get anywhere with your karting event today?
Not the FIA but they use it all the time for everything
nope. really havent done anything with it today, its been a hectic/rubbish day, talked some stuff through with the secretary, but apart from that will get onto it tomorrow/today
ah ok. me not know that
Good
aha. Mr C's gonna loooooooooove that when it arrives
on that bomb shell, i shall depart!! bye
Night Jon.
I love that Schumacher post. I am sure Mr C will be thrilled
it will make his day am sure
bye
I'm off too. Night!
See ya
An Open Letter to Christine and the rest of Sidepodcastland:
With the 2009 Fantasy Racers season finally over (Thank God! ALMOST had to fight off Mr. C there, I was so bad) When do I have to surrender my title of Sidepodcastland World Constrcutors Champion on behalf to Jordan F1 to Kathi's Coach Potato team?
Also, when do I get to hear her speak? After all, I had to do a speech. Why doesn't she? I too wanted to throw the results but got threatened by Christine herself live for the attempt
Finally. Do I get to hear something "in Kathi's native tongue", like they do at the end of the F1 winners press conferences?
ooh i would love an "own language" statement!

Pourquoi? Mon Francais est aussi mauvais que du Christine...... :p
Parlez-vous Francais! :D
AHAHA! I mean, I'm a Schumi fan and everything, but it just made me laugh and smile. :D
BTW, Dank shared this yesterday. It's the Webber-Button battle in Abu Dhabi as presented in F1 on the Big Screen:
http://www.viddler.com/explore/Dansus/videos/1/
Where do you rank Ben Edwards and John Watson (who did the commentary above) compared to Legard and Brundle, as well as Croft and Davidson? :)
hooray i have paid Mr Clapper. Now no more bills for a while please!
Before I go to work:
Briatore seeks one million euros damages
FTA:
It will be very interesting to see how this turns out. And assuming their bans are overturned, will they still manage to find jobs in F1? I can imagine Symonds getting a job, but I'm not so sure about Flav.
That said, they're not asking for much in terms of damages - I would think that the amount they're asking for is less than 1 year's salary for them.

Parlez-vous Francais! :
Pas vraiment, vous devez parler comme un Montrealer, when you come to Montreal, ce qui est des langages intermédiaires dans la mi phrase, and keep it grammatically correct in both languages at the same time.
However, you sound all the letters - vowels and constants, en francais....
Otherwise, you sound like an idiot who learnt French in Paris!
Morning everyone. How's everyone's day going?
I cut my finger while putting the stand on my new tv, and had to leave for work two minutes after finally getting it set up.
Thursday is out to get me, but I refuse to be brought down. NEW TV!!!
PS. Work isn't bad either
#24 - Journeyer:
I think Edwards and Waston are doing a horrible job! They do not concentrate at all about Hamilton winning the race, and the championship like he did last year, and the year before that, and the year before that, etc, etc, etc, like Legard does....
What do you mean that Hamilton did not win the race? I was watching the race split-screen with most of the screen on the information as I need the see if the gal's flight was on-time, and so had to go by most of the race based on what Legard SAID....
New TV - Yay
Yay
Boo... But New TV - YAY
You know, Mr C, this current colour scheme of light blue, black, grey and white does have a nice BMW feel to it.......Might keep RG and other Beemers happy.
Would need to be White and Blue with Red highlights - but I feel better that someone thought of us - so thanks Jordan.
It is very cold. But less cold than the other day?
What's the temperature over there? It's 6c over here right now.
:D
Says it all... :D
Meanwhile, it seems that one of the new updates finally broke IE6's back for the Doohickey. Oh well - it was good while it lasted... :)
Good thing LCLT still works! I ♥ LCLT!
Why do I think I am bringing back interesting memories about "Journeyer's (mis) adventures in Montreal?"
Just as well I've never been to Montreal, then. :D Not yet, anyway. I want to watch the Canadian GP there someday.
Morning all,
NewNewNewHickey works on FF2 as well ;)
Anybody here want a google wave invite? Did I Miss any from last night?
Okay... Looks like LCLT doesn't work for IE6 either. It's ye olde comments and copy-paste blockquoting for me, then. :P
morning everyone
Morning.
Quite like your podcast, sir!
Morning all!!!
ooh thanks :)
i have another one ready to finish.
trying doohickey now, and can blockquote when i click reply button ( this may have worked before but i'm just a bit slow at picking up on things
Anyway, nite everyone. Do not forget to petition Christine into getting kathi to make a spreech for winning Fantasy Racers this year, as per comments #19 and #20 of today's post.....
Will do, Jordan. :) Good night!
can't she just write one out?
oooh, where is it?

can't she just write one out?
- No. I am pretty sure that for a speech, you actually have to talk to people. It is not a bulletin or a document. Picutre the occasions when peopl ehave to make a speech. - Weddings, funerals, rallies, the main person(s) is/are talking to the masses.
ok :)
good night Jordan
bookmarked it, I'll listen to it later!
Mr Andronov, you promised me a plug. I blogged and received no such thing. So heartbroken I might delete my post ;)
Ah yes, that reminds me we have to sort that out. Don't panic, Jordan, we are already on the case.
From Mr Dank:
BOO Red Bull! We need Canada to move on from JV (not GV, mind you), and he's the best guy to do it with! :)
Morning Christine.
Just a thought on dropping drop.io - how are we going to share all the files that we create and upload (eg lukeh's photos, my spreadsheets, Amy's transcripts to name a few)?
Hehehehe. :D BTW, Mr C, no smileys either in Ye Olde Comments?
w00t! Morning, Christine. :)
As mentioned yesterday, at the moment we haven't replaced the bucket but we have made our links better so it is less necessary.
As with everything we are not done yet.
He is aware of that one, ta.
SO do you think that with less water in the bucket, it will splosh over the side and leak less frequently?
Ahhhhhh... ooop.
Oh dear, I'm not verey good at analogies. It's more like you have other water sources so you don't need to go to the bucket as often. Because the water in the bucket is starting to taste bad.
and it would not be practical to clean the bucket out
if drop.io is a bucket, what analogy do you use for sidepodcast? (please don't say bucket as well)
This analogy is starting to pail ;)
Do you want a passport of a good read check out Amy's latest post: http://daydreamingoutloud.com/2009/11/11/its-all-go/
Ah that makes sense
So if we can upload or link to it somewhere else we do, and that appears as a popup here. The rest of the stuff we drop.io. That way we reduce the strain on the service and we don't put all our eggs in one basket!
I have chocolate with popping candy in it!
Take 2 races into the shower? Not Amy... She goes to 3 and talks about showers in her latest blog post: http://daydreamingoutloud.com/2009/11/11/its-all-go/
(if this doesn't make sense you may need to watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmJ-vpz_DHk )
That wasn't pun-ny at all. :D
Christ that's an old ad!
Exactly that although it's not really about the strain and more because going there isn't a pleasant experience anymore.
Right. It is bogged down a lot - I have also noticed my drop.io with about 5mb of spreadsheety goodness is getting tired too. TBH I'm only using it as a backup service...
This is Freaking Incredible!
What a way to see the pace car!

Morning all
A post that builds on the breakfast post yesterday: http://smarterthanyouraverage.com/2009/11/12/your-hangover-cures/
Commented (and it's not even Monday)!
Wonderful, thank you :)
#MFC A computer aimed at the Rookie Silver Surfer.
'Tis a great idea - I am absolutely tearing my hair out with the in-laws!!!
Oh wrong thread! I'm so sorry! Just knackered today :(
Have moved you back to the right thread. Don't worry :)
Just six options on the desktop? That seems a bit... patronising.
It does... but consider that my mother-in-law gets flummoxed by everything on the computer - she can't figure out how to copy stuff onto an external disk, write onto a CD, store her login and password safe, or even log out of web-based email, and she works on the things every day. So it might be what's needed as a training platform at least...
I guess the question then becomes "How do we make complicated Technology accessible to those who have no idea how to use it in a way that trains them to become self-sufficient?"
ooh look, almost kind of sort of f1 news!
http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/motorsport/3056885/Hartley-back-in-F1-drivers-seat
That's already too newsworthy for the F1 Gossip Column!
I heart testing.
I'm still reeling from the shot of a model of an 07/08 Toyota in a plastic bag being touted around to illustrate a non-news story that the 2010 Toyota design is up for sale...
Given what happened to Alguersuari this season, I wonder if Hartley now thinks he's better or worse off by not subbing for Bourdais...
Oh dear. Whose idea was that?
That dreary conga line of 'news' sites that takes stories from a certain agency.
How did Mr C get on with rewriting the internet?
Yay! Meatloaf for lunch today!
Judging by how boring our food has been lately, can I complain to the canteen that "I would eat anything for lunch... but I won't eat that"?
They might tell you to leave like a bat out of hell...
So far so good. Quite a way still to go though. I think he may not have anticipated what a big job it is :)
Or that two out of 3 people thought "it ain't bad..."
Hugh Laurie as a French driver + Stephen Fry as a pitlane reporter = F1 comedy GENIUS
Now... I wonder if anyone on the grid is like him. And what other stereotypes of F1 drivers can you think of? There are many, for sure. ;)
I know Wikipedia can't be trusted, but Meat Loaf's name is actually Marvin? I am very disappointed.
I have an inkling that the skit is based on a certain British driver who had a moustache...
And Michael Caine's name is Maurice Micklewhite, or something.
And now works perfectly for a certain Finnish driver who drinks a lot!
Oh. Well, I can see why he changed it!
I tell you something, that Baguette man certainly ruins the F1 drivers as food game.
I feel a little foolish because I exhausted my gamut of puns relating to his name back in 2006, while working on a certain MAGAZINE.
Hehe. are you still after games for Friday Fun, Christine?
Always. I have an idea for this week, but more ideas are very welcome. [email protected]
:)
Does he just add to it?
Right, well, Rapidweaver has just arrived, as has the 1TB external hard disk for back-ups, and the UPS man has seen the customary back end of the cats as they scarper after he's rung the doorbell...
Blogging!
#notfinished
it is growing on me though.
awesome. will email in a bit :)
i'll try not to break it next week then.
I like it too - there's much to be said for a clean minimalist design these days!

it's bigger on the inside.
I do like to expand it out of F1 though... primarily because it introduces Alain Menu.

me too #blamealison :P
The problem I have with this Baguette fella' getting an F1 drive is the inevitable puns Legard is going to do...
"Can Baguette eat his way out of Q3, or will the rest of the field become his salad filling?"
"Look at that! Off goes Baguette!! I suppose right now he'll be shouting 'Doh' at himself..."
"Baguette was of course born and 'bred' in Belgium..."
Those are not a problem... they are awesome! :D
not by june they won't be.
maybe... but think what joe could do with a name like that
How many blogs does Christine have?
Hi by the way guys and girls. How are we?
Yesterday it was revealed that i too may be "the hero of us all"
... quite a revelation!
F1 exhibit was rrrrrrrrrrrrubish. Alison kicked one of the info boards in anger at its rubishness!
It's around the area of 300 I believe :P
She is 'Christine of the Internet' afterall.

*is not here* was just checking my emails while in a free and i noticed i had a notification from flickr... Thanks Mr C for adding one of my photos to the spc gallery on flickr (not that i'd heard of them before) :) hehe it just made my day! :) Thank you!

my fan keeps blowing my dinner off my plate. Dinner has an affinity with panda.
You may not have seen my later comment where I found out that LCLT was actually, in fact, broken as well. :(
what exactly is your dinner? how can it get blown off your plate?
The problem I have with this Baguette fella' getting an F1 drive is the inevitable puns Legard is going to do... {Comment #131}
Don't forget... "Baguette on a roll" if Bertrand goes well for a few races (Autosport has used this one already)
"Breakfast baguette" if he does well in a morning free practise session
and if someone collides with Bertrand: "He's swiped a Baguette; did he skip lunch or something?"
Seriously, I've read some good stuff about Bertrand and hope he does well in F1 :)
Not only do I have Doctor Who to watch on Sunday, but I'm also having cookery lessons with a friend. Learning how to make lasagne, preferably without burning the place down in the process.
#isitsundayyet
Ooh, yum, I likes lasagne. Send some our way when you're done :)
I can only assume it is bamboo.
I had some chicken, that stayed put. As did the tomatoes and the cucumber. But the spinach leaves, they went everywhere.
It can't actually be 12 o'clock already. Who's been messing about with the time machine again?
Great Scott! I've overshot.
time is scary. It scares me that when I come over I will fly for 20 hours and have a 7 hour stop over yet arrive the same day I left.
Mrs C is off to Brazil with work on Sunday morning, so I may have to wait or get in trouble for watching it...
Reverse the polarity of the neutron flow. That should sort it out.
Another addition to our list of why it's stoopid to have it on a Sunday.
Sunday TV should remain the domain of the Antiques Roadshow, that programme I won't mention in which the old gits end up going down a hill in a tin bath every episode, costume dramas and Agatha Christie-based whodunnits.
Folks, you will LOVE this article from Joe:
Thieving from the thieves
That's as straightforward as it gets.
I hate Microsoft.
Am babysitting a broken Office 2003 installation, and while I should be spending my morning elsewhere putting in much-needed hours I have to do, I'm here sorting this steaming pile of dung out.
I need a hug! :(
Hilarious. I've commented already. Wonder which site?
In other news, I've just learned that I have Lulu's email address.
I suspect you'd have been better off going for Office 2007, or better yet, waiting a few months for Office 2010...
How broken is it?
I was just thinking the same thing. I like it. As long as it slows down when I get home so I get nice long evening.
That didn't take long.
Mind you, the sites really ARE identical - down to the logo! Golly.
Bear with me on the rant. It's installed on a Windows system that was upgraded from 98SE to XP, had Office 97 installed on it originally, and has only recently got over its hump of having a duff Norton Internet Security installed. It (Office 2003) complained that it wasn't installed for the current user, no amount of fixes solved it, so I've had to do a complete uninstall and reinstall, complete with registry cleaning and temporary file deletion. I absolutely hate this PC, yet it's my parents so I have no say on what I can do to it. They purchased 2003 because they've used Office 2007 and hate it, and 2003 is what my mum uses to get her NVQs.
In a near-perfect world, I'd give them a new hard disk, and install XP fresh on it with the programs they use most. I'm not allowed to do that. :(
And this is just HILARIOUS.
And upon re-install, I've just sworn because it hasn't fixed the problem.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
If I'm not mistaken, you can download a plugin for 2007 to convert it into a 2003 look-and-feel. You can resort to that if 2003 really doesn't work for you.
Brilliant.
That is slightly counter-productive :)
At least they didn't claim that the "original" one was fake. :D
Baffling!
Mind you, my sister has been going to seminars on how to make money from the internet (my reply: "What do they tell you? 'Start hosting seminars on how to make money from the internet?'"). She and the other credulous attendees are told that all they have to do is 'put some content up' and the taps will flow. Perhaps someone is attempting to do just that.
That would be a bit Pirandello.
:D
Someone's been doing it for a looooong time now. Even the BBC has become its indirect prey.

scared yet?
I am!
he should be!
There's a reason why he didn't place the house number...
:-)
why? he put his full address on his website. i'd be more scared that joe knows the man lives in a 3-bed bungalow.
I don't want to know where he lives. I prefer to pretend he doesn't exist :)
He's not on the same level as Jenson, Jason, and Franck. He's not worthy! :D
I don't really want to know where Franck lives either. Although I do want to know where his hairdresser/nightclub is.
oh. i best not mention that this is the bungalow then?

Plato, of BTCC and Fifth Gear fame.
Not quite generating enough business yet
how can anyone...?
You even found the house number. Pretty good sleuthing!
I do wonder if that's really where he lives, though.
google.
i can also tell you a house in that area is worth roughly: $291,000. although prices have stagnated recently,
This took me by surprise.
Carlin leaves Euro F3 to join GP3 - I take it GP3 is Bernie's baby as much as GP2?
is this how you procrastinate rewriting the internet? :D
i still don't know that it's a bungalow. joe > mr. c.
am betting yes. anyone with any sense would have p.o. box.
yup.
Joe undoubtedly has contacts in the area.
SHOO!
Hey! We may or may not have stalked him round Autosport International, but I have no desire to find out where he lives :)
Very suburban pricing, I must say.

McLaren gets a visit from the Robertsons
If Kimi still doesn't get the McLaren seat after that rather public meeting, who knows what will.
Kimi Kimi Kimi Kimi *does jittery Kimi dance* COME ON ALREADY.
On a related note, isn't it a bit sad that ITV (who no longer has F1 on its telly), can still get the occasional scoop like this, while all the Beeb can offer us is... "a semi-regular gossip column".
Oh dear.
you raise a fine point.
Andrew Benson, hero of us all - planet-f1.com
:D
What, not Steve Ryder, then? :D
too busy fighting his career from falling away it seems
ooooooh.
Isn't he in the BTCC along with Louise Goodman?
BTCC must be the most underrated motorsport series right now.
if you like slow cars crashing
Oops, he is. And he does do champions league for ITV too
See I have the memory of watching BTCC growing up in the 90s and now watching it pales in comparison soooooooooo much
Absolutely agreed. Super Touring rocked before it got too pricey.
They're not all that slow. :)
*remembers Mansell racing in the Mondeo at Donington*
Good times...
But then, is there any series right now where the racing is genuinely better than it was 10-15 years ago?
True enough but I just can't get into it like I used to be :(
Could be faster. At least the BTCC races on smaller tracks so they look quicker. Nearly identical cars look lost in the WTCC on GP tracks.
They do make for some FANTASTIC racing in Macau, though. Last year's was superb.
True enough.
Did someone say 'leak'?
If you're running a business in the UK you have to register it at Companies House, and I imagine you have to do the same in Oz.
Have you been drinking?
*remembers famous Mansell quote down the team radio: "I can't talk – I'm unconscious"*
Yes - a lot of water. :D
What do you think is the most underrated motorsport series right now?
Stock Hatches... ;)

It wont let me post in the off season thread :(
probably quoting the heart?
yeah, i worked-ed it out in the end.
Oops. Sorry.
I just quite like Jon.
its understandable ;)
Is Gavin around or somebody else who has experience with excel?
I use it every day but am not an expert by any means.

Amazing.

Ok, I have a different question. Can I insert two different trendlines for one graph? I have a graph which is straight curve and then straight again and I would like to fit a trendline (preferably with equation so that I don't have to calculate so much) for each of the straight ends.
Yes you should be able to. Left-click to select the Data series, right click and select "Add Trendline". You should be able to do it for the other series as long as you select it first...
But I can only add one trendline per data series
That is correct.
so the answer is no :)
Yes, the answer is no ;)
The only thing I would suggest is to try and make your own trendline (like a 3pt. moving average)...
I tried adding 2 more dataseries with only the linear part of the original one and add a trendline to each of them. Which did almost work. But at least I have the equation now.
Yeah it's crappy but that's the limits of excel I guess :(
jimmy carr, on radio two, shortest joke him can think of:
stationery store moves
I can't believe no one has been tempted to say something like: Badoer.
Bado... ah damnit. Too late.
Unfortunately I think that's a bit of an "in" joke :)
How about something more well-known, like: Dubya.
been a while since we had a breakout:
http://sidepodcast.com/2009/11/12/fia-reject-allegations-condemn-leaks/
I would like to profusely apologize for my country foisting that idiot and his cronies on the rest of the world.
Honestly, most Americans can say "nuclear" :D
:)
What? You mean it's not "nucular"? :P
because it's... i don't know... the OFFseason? ;)
Hey guys, looks like Autosport's on the cards for January, dad just text asking if I wanted to go. I've asked him if he wants to do the karting event as well as me, so fingers crossed :D
Once again, I must say, go Stuart!
Excellent plugging too. :D
You mean nucular.
*not here*
Unbelievably this sketch was made almost 20 years before he got the job.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdorjqj6aS4
Hehe, awesome!
Yep, Dad's up for karting so looks like I'm in for Autosport 2010! :D
hahaha, that's hilarious.
Very good!
Just tested out Real Time Racing as it was mensioned here the other day and theres an article in RCE this month about it.
It's fair to say that it's rubbish unless you have a really good computer and a wheel or decent controller!
Too true! :D
Looks like they're out of Paddock Passes for Saturday :(
Wow! That's quick!!
Afternoon all. Hows sidepodland?
Well, someone's got to tell it like it is...
Random thought on Button and Brawn - could it be possible that Button and Brawn have already privately agreed on terms, and for Button to get a higher salary, he's helping Ross by playing out a "contract dispute". This dispute would then pressure Mercedes to pay Brawn a little more to help pay for Jenson's salary...
I could be way off the mark, but it's a thought.
I like your thinking. Could be even greater stakes. Maybe it is to push Mercedes into ditching McLaren faster and committing 100% to Brawn.
Could be that too, yes. Either way, I suspect things aren't as they seem here. Ross is really holding his cards close to his chest...
Could be. The way I heard it, Mercedes is quite keen to part with McLaren and complete with Brawn, but of course this is a two-part process in which each part is subject to negotiation.
Both McLaren and Brawn know Mercedes are in F1 for the long haul, and both know Mercedes want to end up with Brawn. So both sides are trying to squeeze as much as they can from Mercedes before the contracts are signed and the agreements are set in stone, so to speak.
...The ideal scenario for McLaren being that the remaining shareholders (Ron, Keyser Soze and the Mumstheword Holding Co) buy back the Mercedes share of the business as cheaply as possible. Brawn, #forsure, wants as big a cash influx as possible. I'm sure they're all busting each other's balls behind the scenes.
Yaaaay! All well, she has the right to call "Couch Potato" the 2009 SPC-land World Champions...after the speech, I guess. Funny how there was a break whenever people was trying to quote me over the season....
Gavin, I think it is more of a personal safety issue. by removing the need for a bucket in the first place, no bucket will be kicked, and Christine and Mr. C will be doomed to a immortality of doing Sidepodcast forever. {And you thought pushing a boulder up a mountain for it to roll back down during the night for entirity weas evil....}
I believe that a similarly placed holding company Arentwerich is expected to take the reins of Brawn....
Just like Ferrari have Moneydollar and Sauber have Cashback. ;)
really, really (heart) pressdog for this post:
http://pressdog.typepad.com/dogblog/2009/11/an-aside-with-joe-super-awesome-f1-podcast.html
"...one of the best podcasts I've heard in a while"
if i could trouble you all for a visit to pressdog's site for a nose around, that'd be much appreciated.
And Williams have....
Williams.....
Bless....
Errr....
Pressdog seems to have a Joe fixation....
Does Joe feed him doggy chews?....
They have the Qataris, don't they? ;)
And on that note, I'm off to bed. Night, all! :D
Qatar
I do recall wishing that there could be a Beglium F1 dsriver with the surname of Fries at one point, but for the purposes of an All-time Fantasy F1 team I will glady pair up Baguette with Gerhard Berger and Alexander Wurz. At the very least, I will almost have a balanced meal if not a balanced team.
Hi me...
Whilst the commenting bit is working well I see my echo is back....
Hello all...
Hows the world going?
There's a British F1 driver by the name of Johnny Dumfries. That's the closest I know. ;)
hmm, odd one that. not sure why it's happening? will have a play in IE8.
Evening
I dont like this getting dark early.... It is so wrong!
#blametheoffseason
Better than Catarrh....
Although I always think Frank sounds like he has it....
Before I go for real:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxASgevVphY&feature=p
Felipe Massa guesting... on a Brazilian YouTube show. It's the future!
Too bad it's in Portuguese.
Testing something. Just ignore me. :D I should really sleep now, though.
Evening everyone. Been real busy today. Boo!
But it's over now. Yay!
ooh, i like this comment from will b: http://joesaward.wordpress.com/2009/11/12/thieving-from-the-thieves/#comment-6180
Hello all, whilst I am loving the new look Doohickey, it no longer works at my office, we must have an ancient version of IE. I suppose this means I'll have to work in the office & not watch the comments :(
hey janna, is this since yesterday's update?
me...
The live site is now not updating... can I do anything?...
can you use chromeframe?
erm. i haven't touched anything since yesterday. am still looking into the IE* issues. will get back to ya.
I imagine he must be an F1 fan... So i wonder if he goes to Melbourne?
Yes, when I got into work today I just got the Read More bar & nothing else
must've broken something. ta.
#nothere
Sounds exactly like what happened to me with IE6.
Can't use anything else, they're quite strict about the network
Oh my goodness I'm going to drive myself mad by the end of the evening :P
http://www.google.com/chromeframe
Its a plugin, it lets you run chrome in ie to get more mordern webpages ;)
Might be worth a go...
I doubt it. He might have to stop his original and unique 10 to 20 stories a day for three days then...
He could still copy and paste them from the track
It because he called you the brilliant English people who run sidepodcast isn't it?
Rockall => Now claimed by england....
yes.
also, because it's really hard to get people to blog about audio podcasts. it almost never happens.
inside track videos are popular, because people can embed them. and general blog posts too, because people can copy and paste bits of text. i don't think we've had more than six people write about something we said in an audio show in three years.
am not complaining though. i just very much appreciate it when people do blog about an audio show.
I am so having a go at this :D
http://www.autosport-international.com/public/node/2748
No way. We will fight them on the rock. We will fight them on the.... well there is only the rock so we will fight them there for it.
I have never thought about that. Iquote stuff from podcasts all the time in comments as do others but I can't recall seeing an article about them.
:D :D
Well, whatever happens, prepare for 2011
http://www.rockall2011.com/index.html
Ooh, yum, I likes lasagne. Send some our way when you're done :) {Comment #150}
Unfortunately me, my parents and the friend who's teaching me to cook already have first pick of the lasagne, so there probably won't be any leftovers for you...
ALISON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope she is still in London for a few days because she can go and see michel cooking live
http://www.londonbbcgoodfoodshow.com/
Ooooo....
Just got a really cute sleeping panda...
I love it...
yay :)
that bit works then. hmmm.
Schumacher's answer to overtaking is to get Ross to find him a piece of empty track. What does he know about overtaking. He oither drove on an empty track or drove people off the road
It didn't work for a while last night then round about midnight it started working again
Clearly Lord Kennet didn't know about sidepodcast
http://www.rockall2011.com/index.html
Evening
Be still my beating heart....
Purrrlease let it be so....
http://www.itv-f1.com/News_Article.aspx?id=47410
Just saw that as I was looking at his site anyway. Love the shout out.
I think it was because he called Mr C 'mysterious' :-)
Pressdog does like to plug a good podcast. In fact he's appearing on one himself tonight (actually a radio show which appears as a podcast). When it gets posted I'm sure he'll link to it.
ahh, good stuff. cheers.
In fact Jeff already has:
http://www.mynameisirl.com/2009/11/night-of-living-bloggers.html
blimey, that's some lineup.
I like Will's plug:
http://www.isitmayyet.com/index.php/2009/11/11/theyre-letting-the-freaks-on-the-radio/
It has a picture of a word butcher and everything.
"They are just a bunch of word butchers" was the respected journo Jeff Olson's position on bloggers in an article on ESPN, oh about a year ago I guess. Needless to say they took it in good spirit ;-)
He likes a good Photoshop:
http://www.isitmayyet.com/index.php/2009/11/05/fly-over-for-the-2010-indianapolis-500-announced/
#mightbeaninjoke
you may have to explain the title of the blog to me?
That's one podcast I really wish I'd been listening to all year but haven't done so yet. Curt Cavin is a journalist with the Indianapolis Star and I've posted about his web Q&A before (he mentioned Joe recently too after Joe said Indy was for sale and someone questioned the source - Curt said he considers Joe a friend). Kevin Lee works for IMS Radio Network who cover each IRL race and provide the commentary for the web feed.
And I am very interested about the linkable chapters idea that the BBC are working towards that Christine mentioned on #MFC for exactly this reason.
maybe. i think it'll make more of a difference to video.
there must a reason why there's not audio competitor to youtube?
"Is it May yet?"
The entirety of the IndyCar year hangs around the Month of May at Indianapolis, with all the practice and qualifying that happens through the month leading up to the 500.
If there's a boring race during the rest of the year or if the off-season is dragging they'll say... is it May yet?
aha. thanx.
much as during Singapore we were askign.. is it Suzuka yet?
(Audioboo is the poor attempt I guess)
I am convinced it is because when you listen to audio you are often doing something else at once and when you are watching video it usually takes your whole attention. And on a webpage you try and listen to audio and... what else can I do while I'm listening is my usual feeling. I can't really read and listen at the same time. And if I'm on a blog post and listening to audio I often feel a bit trapped. Which is why I think it doesn't take off.
agreed.
I was just thinking about Livescribe (the pen that records the audio as you play the notes. The really cool thing is after it is on the machine you can click on the note and play the audio that was happening as you wrote the note.
I was thinking for a second about how that might work with a transcript being synced up to the recording. But I think you would naturally read ahead if you had the transcript in front of you and that would make it less enjoyable rather than more.
I wonder how long I can remain parenthetical?
Potentially forever. But... could you live with that?
evening :) how is everyone today?
no)
Not too bad... :D
I have decided I dont really like like autumn, winter spring...
so you just like Summer then? is it the heat or the general 'summerness' i don't mind winter much, i kinda like wearing big warm jumpers :)
Surprisingly good, even with the maths homework im just about to do.
Evening :)
I am driving myself mental creating something impossible
It is everything... winter is too dark. too cold, too wet, everyone looks grumpy in their big coats... And it is super hard to get out of bed!
I also seem to have given up eating...
How did your exam go RG?
Yay for girls!! http://smarterthanyouraverage.com/2009/11/12/flying-high/
Well. Feeling confident I'll say.
ahhh... not good... sorry to hear that.
Cool :D
Are you sure that's a winter thing? It's usually the other way round.
I saw that on the news earlier. They have a ninth Red Arrow at last
Maybe... i normally have at least 2 meals a day, at the moment i am down to barely one... its not good!
Yeah.
Doing homework, do what you do if I come back early.
i find i don't eat much in summer at all... mainly salads and light lunches.. i prefer being cold anyway.
Any new bloogy articles I've missed?
that's normal.
or even bloggy?
yep :) it's the only thing about me that's reasonably normal :)
Hey Jackie.... thanks again for the tickets to Brooklands!
No problem Nick, I thoroughly enjoyed my day out :D
I like bloogy
I'm in dire need of a reading fix!
Me too.. great to meet everyone!
Was great seeing Alex too on Monday!
This you getting all the sidepod meetups in before you head off to pastures new?
Pretty much... It has been busy!
Got anything else planned?
you too Nick.
Sleeeep!
Family tomorrow, Friends on Saturday, maybe some Motocross ridding in between, but i expect i will have to skip that...
Always helps :D
Try Joe's blog he has some interesting stuff. Short articles though
I hate the off-season!
read them all already
Sorry i was late... life seem to be running pretty fast at the moment! I guess it would have been ok if certain people could navigate :P
I may have to start another religion .. you know what happens when I get b***d
You need a sidepodradio show to focus your energies on
Is there another in the offing soon?
I may have to indulge in some stats at this rate
hahah
via @Hinchtown
RT @badbanana Marching bands are actually homeless orchestras. Tragic, really.
There is another one in the offing It may not be that soon though.
yay. more blogging?
I am suprised we havent heard any driver lineups for the new teams yet, Virgin said they would say something 2 weeks after the season.
i guess it may be held up with the Kimi/Merceddes/Rosberg conundrum, but that cant logjam forever...
Hedgehog, Ant and The Kobyashi Maru have all been quite quiet on where they are going.
I wouldnt have expected Ant to have said something at Brooklands, but it all seems so quiet, like the calm before the storm.
My guess is Virgin will have 1 british driver, and i wouldnt be suprised if lotus do too to help the branding
I would if I knew what to blog about .. I was thinking add stats to site type of stats :(
Evening all... spent the evening at the pub because my old boss who moved to the brazil office came over for a holiday!
Hey Gavin
nice! Did you have a good time?
Did he bring capri.... (ugh, brazilaian sugar alcoholic drinks all the f1 people were on) to drink? :D
Joe has an item today saying that the FIA are having a meeting today with Schumacher, Tilke and several others to try and find ways to promote overtaking. Something on overtaking would be a good follow up to your quali post.
Yeah it was fun. The office has been more boring since he left!
caprina?
talking about blogging, I haven't updated much lately. I'm thinking of things to write about, any ideas?
You mean cap.......inhas.
Caipirinha? Nah, we were drinking Danish Christmas Beer!
great! Glad you had a good time!
Aha... does that contain turkey, christmas cookies, pine trees or snow?*
*all essential christmas ingreediants!
Maverick did that about a month back here's the linky if you haven't seen it.
Who would be the worst team-mate Lewis could get next year?
I saw that and even commented on it. Memory fail for me
Schumacher
I do like discussing data though but I am all out of ideas
THAT woman
LOL .. I meant out of those who are without a drive and are in the market
I assume you could mean both by saying that.
(homework done btw)
That is always a problem at this time of year because everything has been analysed to death.
Nelsinho
and the season reviews have barely started yet.
How about an ideal driver line up?
I can't think of anyone who is still looking for a drive who would cause problems. I like the idea of Schumacher in the other McLaren. So many possibilties. Daddy Hamilton would be worth watching then.
Not Ralf
Anyone that outraces, outqualifies and outqualifies him, of course. Of course, this might be a good think if it keeps Legard off the air.....
I shall be back later with a finished article, later...
OMG I have to stay awake for another hour on this hot stuffy train!
Any tips???
But they are not going to be based on data
I spy?
Sleep for 50 minutes
.
ooh how did that happen. i think i right clicked accidentally at the same time as it was sending..
Keep lookng at old female Ricky Gervais in confusion
I'll always look at a female Ricky Gervais in confusion, no matter the circumastances.
I mentioned earlier about the ITV story on the Robertsons visiting Woking yesterday at the invitation of Mr Whitmarsh....
Everything crossed....
jackie, are you still looking for something to blog?
this time last year:
Franz Tost won the award for Team Principal of the year, whilst Adrian Newey for Red Bull was nominated for the Design Engineer of the Year
more: http://www.f1minute.com/2008/11/12/12-nov-08-singapore-grand-prix-wins-motorsport-award/
so, how about a blog post on this year's "designer of the year" / "team boss of the year"?
Thanks Mr C .. I may look into that tomorrow, I've kinda promised myself an early night tonight.
can't say i didn't try ;)
You did indeed, thanks muchly :D
Ah... very interesting... hopefully something will happen soon
That sounds interesting.
Do we know the name of the supposed whizz kid at brawn who designed a lot of the concept for the 001?
maybe a blog post from everybody on the same subject? pat suggested a similar idea the other day. everyone agrees on a topic and blogs their opinion, comes back and compares notes?
might need a catchy name though.
any other takers?
Lou probably has his name in her stalking files
Did I? I don't remember that.. but that's not saying much, I don't remember a lot of things :-)
hehe, maybe not. something about IRL bloggers all picking a topic?
sounds like an interesting idea:
- one subject
- one evening
- many bloggers
F1 Bloggers Awards?
F1 Fans End of Year review awards
F1 Blogosphere Uber-cross-post awards and review?
There could be say 2 awards per week everyone blogs on?
might even keep gavin awake.
She's been replaced by a life-sized dopey with similar intelligence levels!
Can you come up with practical jokes to play? :P
Ghoulash and Pizza is T minus 30 minutes away....
Set a deadline and have everyone e-mail their posts to Christine by then. If everyone is writing a post we need more than two categories. So designer/team boss/driver/race/circuit pf the year and a poster's choice award for anything that takes their fancy.
How about that?
I would certainly have a go at that
Ah I remember something about BBC TV coverage.
The IRL guys don't pick a topic, they just seem to do more plugging of the same thing. Like the Trackside show with Curt and Kevin, that gets plugged often by several of them, not just because some of them are on it this week.
You heard it here first Steven's getting a blog :D
errr.... *thinks..* no... sorry, that i don't know...
I know Loic Bigois is head of aero.. but er...the rest i have no idea... sorry. if anyone finds out please tell me :)
:D
Now he needs to find it a name!
I said I would write a post as I have done for several sites in the past. I am not getting a blog
Ah, ok... errr: 'im, that one
wanna bet?
possibly. was thinking just a generic subject. so another night: "what kers got right, what it got wrong".
not sure, just throwing ideas out there.
Doh!
Suppose someone was to set one up for him which he didnt know about...
#confidential
seems like a good idea for must comment monday
only issue with that, is it makes it very sidepodcentric.
rather than inclusive of everybody's blogs.
but if you don't have a blog, you could guest post on the subject?
You know I am not competitive but if someone was going to bet me that I ould not have a blog I would win that bet.
Sounds fun...
it's the opposite.
it's everybody blogging for themselves. no commenting at all.
I'd have to guest post as I have no Blog....
I'd have thought 1 topic ten blog posts to comment on
Thats a good idea too.
With the awards i was thinking we could get everyone to do short posts, say 150-200 words max on each award. this would boost participation, and it wouldnt be too time consumint to read all of them.
There are loads of subjects beyond awards though... it might need a central hosting page with lings or *gasp* a webring!!!!!!
On first read I thought it was going to be for SPC but if everyone is going to post on their own blogs that could help them generate comments. I just like the idea of all the posts being made public at the same time so that people don't just copy one they like
No, but I can kick her for breaking the legroom rules on the train!
you do that, no worries. you're welcome to here, and i'm sure others would extend the invitation too.
Completely off topic but I thought I'd share anyway as it's basically taken up my evening... have always been a fan of this Muse poster so I decided to try recreate it on Forza 3...
Close up
Further out
220 different shapes later, a tired mind and an xbox controller that needs a rest... :P
good point.
I can't tell if you are a genius, talented, or just flipping mad...
Great work.
That is what I was thinking.
There is also the Joe writing competition still on the back burner
hehe. i'll do you a deal then...
if enough people run with the idea, we'll sort some kind of f1 webring in return.
so we pick a start time / finish time?
He's all of the above. Seriously, I keep looking at that thinking it's a poster!
also true, keep reminding me.
Probably the last one. I started and thought 'this is ridiculous' but just wanted to keep going and whala...
hehe sounds good... i would have to blog again!
This could work well going into the season as well as there could be central topics before and after every race.
People would still have there main posts they do, but it could be a great way for people to dicover each others blogs, and if the word goes out on the
Batphonepodcast we could really have a lot of people doing it! :DSounds awesome!
just needs a name then...
I don't know about that, a lot of us have posts which require a lot of effort already!
blogathon
Everyone to post between 9-10pm gmt on a given day
*not so good for me in GMT +4 but still :P
Post a topic and a deadline I guess. As Nick said a word count limit is not a bad idea too
lets see how the off season goes. are you up for blogging this topic?
Oh yeah, speaking of blogs, my ex boss in Brazil likes mine, as it happens :)
What is it and when am I doing it?
This would be 150 words or less and could easily boost readership of your main posts if you link your short ones to it ;)
My uncle likes mine, which came as a shock.
come on, it has to have the sidepod prefix surely? ;)
in honour of last years Professional Motorsport World awards. who were this year's "designer of the year" / "team boss of the year"?
more info: http://www.f1minute.com/2008/11/12/12-nov-08-singapore-grand-prix-wins-motorsport-award/
contest?
F1 SuperShorts?
then as me says its sidepodcentric
OK... when am I writing it?
I was thinking of changing the name of my blog and moving it.
Blogcutters?
Yes, I possibly was watching that Simpsons episode earlier
This will go beyone, hopefully it will bring in more comenters as they diiscover the creator of the magical webring :P
What are you saying???
Right, almost home - see you later guys!
what do we think? thursdays look to be quiet days, no quiz, no live shows or anything. so ideally 9pm GMT on thursdays.
but seeing as we just made it up, how about midenight?
seems like a fair swap...
How about 'The Thursday Thoughts'?
It's just part of re-writing the internet. Besides he has to do something to pay for your flying lessons
will do... who was the well known design guy who left brawn in the summer?
oooooooooh!
I echo that ooooooooh
Like that
MrC is bringing back the webring... Geocities is dead, but we are resurecting one of its sies most ignored charicteristics :P
you mean red bull? geoff willis.
what is a webring anyway?
lets do it.
who's up for a post by midnight tonight?
I like it... but for a snapier title 'Thursday thoughts' ? hashtag #F1TT?
Didn't Loic Bigois leave Brawn?
I get the feeling I'm being volunteered for something here. :)
i'll show ya... in about three weeks :)
no, there was definatly a brawn guy who left at sompoint with a big-ish name, will have a google
ahh, very possibly.
You don't watn my thoughts on Thursday ;-)
yay.
anyone else?
I'll give it a shot but like Toyota, might not succeed in doing it
Maybe. I'd sort of planned to write 2 or 3 others, although the Preview should be nice and short and I've already half-written the karting plug.
not me
Aren't they a bit 1998?
Why not. Can you do a quick post with the subject rules etc so that anyone who pops in can be directed to it?
so you are proposing to blog about the same subject at the same time, possibly with a word limit and/or time limit?
he did?.. oh...
yes.... :D 15 word limit?
doesn't have to be long. concise is good.
ladysnowcat if you're up for, just yell. same for steven and anyone else minus a blog.
Its not twitter 150!!!
Huh? He did?
I wouldn't bother.
Not webring 3.0
yes.
time limit i think. not sure about a word limit? especially if you don't have Word 97.
Retro... But they are a good idea!
OK I think I need to catch up and wonder what on earth is going on... my mind has been in designing world all evening...
Sideblogging.....
It's a side issue for peeps who have their own Blog....
Just a short paragraph then...
Lots of long posts will take people time and discourage them, and it will be hard to read a lot of them...
eek. Too much pressure. I need time
What's the point of a very short post to need to set the scene first no?
i don't think he did... i don't remember him leaving... plus he still seems to be up on the brawn site as head of aero?
Acording to his wikipedia page Loic Bigois is stil at Brawn
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loic_Bigois
99% sure he's still at Brawn
Ah, so he is
So who left? Someone who was high up on the technical side left
and this is the subject? (sorry if i seem to be a bit thick, that's because i am)
do we need a quick post to summarise what we've sort-of half-decided?
yes
It would probably be best for everyone to write a bit about what Thursday thoughts is, but I think ia larger project will work best with shorter posts.
If there is more you need to say you could always link a short post to a longer one?
we're struggling to find a list of designers for this year. but yes. this may be easier:
who should be awarded the title of 2009 f1 team boss of the year?
how's that sound?
ok. give us 5.
I like it.
answers on a postcard
Jorg Zander left in June i think... he was deputy technical director
i love it when a non-plan comes together.
jackie is dangerous when she's bored.
Good starter
That's the one. I knew you would know
Evening all. Why does it look like I've missed something important?
ok
:P
Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssss!
Thank you :D
i knew my
stalkingsupport of the team would pay off one day ;)ooh... sorry. you could have just asked who their deputy technical director was.... :P i got confused ;)
Is it bad to have written 188 words and not even got to the point yet?
Hold on. Is there any competition at all?
That's why I like the idea of a word limit. It forces people to get to the point. People putting this on their own site will need to write an intro to the Thursday Thought idea
I can think of four.
I want to join in but am totally confused...
When are we doing this and what is the subject and how many words?....
But it goes against the point of my blog, 'Northern Waffler'
I believe Mr C is writing a blog post as we speak.
Don't panic everyone!
I must seriously lack imagination
*holds onto his hat*
I think 9 out of 10 blogs will pick the same guy. That's not to say it isn't deserved..
If you are doing team boss it should be "Who, aside from Ross Brawn, should be team boss of the year?"...
Should that be towel?
Fair point. We all know how well Flavio did this year.
Even better!
Am I the 1 out of the 10 blogs then?
:-)
panicking aaaaaaaaaaaaarrrgghhhhhh
Great answer
Or maybe, "why is Ross Brawn a big cuddly bear?"
I am also 1 of those.

Same spelling mistake we picked Mr GMM's lawyer up on. Is Mr C the GMM lawyer?
Oops. That got past me too.

OK. I have Google Wave thanks to Gavin. No idea what to do with it.
Can't you google the answer?
Me too. and me neither
Well if they are floatring around this easily now... has anyone got any spare!?

Trying to work out how to use Google Wave. Not getting very far.
Watching Russell Howard on BBC3
Boo :P
Very funny!
What's wrong with that?
currently doing a lots of sketchbook work... fun but tiring.. i just wish i could stop working for a day or two...
I'm still gutted he left the podcast with Russell Howard - I used to love that and it took a year to find a replacement!
And following my efforts at blogging I will now retire to bed...
Nightie night guys...
I look forward to reading all your efforts tomorrow...

Bye lady snowcat

Nick so just mindread my comment :P
Has anyone fallen over yet?
Have they complained your tweets aren't up to standard?
Nah, they have all seemed to have forgot Evans' karate kick on Drogba.
I head about the goalkeeper who fell off the motorbike... I was torn between feeling bad for someone elses misfortune and genuine indifference as it was only another footballer
Can you feel sad for the fact it was our keeper?
Gomes fell off a bike?
Mr C: Any pointers on how to use Gogle Wave? Tutorials? Anything? Also, how do I add you as a contact?
Cudicini
Aww I like cudicini :(
Ah. Contact added.
ummm. i really have had much chance to look. maybe we should arrange a wave-meetup now a few of have a log on?
I will try, i do feel bad for him on a personal level, I expect that the insurance doesn't cover it, so he is in breech of contract and you guys dont pay his wages.
Moving to dubai i will be forced to start watching football again, however i dont think i will stop resenting everyone on the pitch
And there was me thinking you were all MFC'd up :)
haven't had the time. big plans, big ideas...
@Mr C/Christine
On Joe's site I mentioned Mr GMM's visits/comments on this site. Thought you should know.
http://joesaward.wordpress.com/2009/11/12/thieving-from-the-thieves/
Is it worth it though, it could well be stcuk in beta relying on invites for a few years...
I dont think there goal of replacing email is going to work.
They let the technicians release the product instead of those who would be able to promote it properly
Reet, time for meself to gan to bed. Byeeee. lotsa love
Nighty night
ahh, nice one, cheers.
see ya bud.
way to early to call. i haven't used it anywhere near enough.
i hate email though.
Night guys!
bye sir.
night!
i need a selection of t-shirts with my favourite comments printed on them. i would wear this one with pride:
"This week Stuart C pointed out that GMM stories are appearing on the BBC website’s F1 gossip column. Lord Reith will be spinning faster than a Williams flywheel at the thought."
Thats true, but with web technologies isnt the release and distribution as important, if not more so than the product itself?
I really really hate the phone...
technology needs to be accessible.
"i have XMPP'd you" is not a phrase my mum would use in conversation.
"i have waved you" might catch on.
Of course we have yet to see the Williams flywheel spin so it may not mean much but it sounds good.
Dear Readers,
Although I don't encourage drinking it is clear that being the sober one amongst a group of drunks can be amusing, however, tonight i discovered that being the sober one in a group of drunk motorsport students is hilarious...
Tonight my fellow course mate tried to convince me that we could start (and run) a Formula Ford team for £35,000, yes, £35,000. Where is this money coming from you ask? No idea.
Flipping hilarious
Endith
:)
There was one at the science museum...
'Someone' kicked the sign...
You could. Of course the second race would require more money. You could easily do a one circuit championship for that. Of course you do actually have to have the money.
what would the team be called?
Hopelessness Racing
Nick,
Do you know if Alison is still in London?
you need beer.
ha. British Formula Ford on 35k on a new start up? no chance
I think so
Vodka Unnamed energy drink was the tipple of choice for many tonight, £1 a pop
I don't know if tickets are still available but if they are she is going to want to see Michel cook live. http://www.londonbbcgoodfoodshow.com/
that'll do.
You won't get anywhere near the British championship on that money. That would barely count as a deposit.
oh dear... I will text her.
I still think its silly he has a girls name :P
Just don't say that when you are near a balcony she can throw you over.
yeah you would, you could do a bit, nothing new mind, only second hand stuff.
You could run in BFFord for 35k i reckon, if you already had the equipment. Not hugely competitively but you could still run
:D
If you already had a car and an engine and transport and some spares and some free mechanics maybe
Nah, Formula Ford is alot more economical than most championships for what you get.
Whoah... dropio is uber...spammed.
This little guy was in the history of plastics exhibit... http://drop.io/sidepodcast/asset/imag0282
Dropio is sooooooo last week ;)
So that's where he's been.
Its been replaced?
I have been away from the comments for a while...
Found the costs at http://www.britishformulaford.co.uk/costs.htm
http://twitpic.com/ndyd9
Mind you, my sister has been going to seminars on how to make money from the internet (my reply: "What do they tell you? 'Start hosting seminars on how to make money from the internet?'"). She and the other credulous attendees are told that all they have to do is 'put some content up' and the taps will flow. Perhaps someone is attempting to do just that. {Comment #175}
Every year I get about a dozen flyers advertising online seminars arrive with my library magazine subscription. Typically they will charge £400-£700 for the priviledge of turning up. I've yet to see any of them describe anything particularly new in their internet seminar summaries, except that since 2004 Twitter has joined the list of buzzwords.
Needless to say, I never bother going to these seminars...
By the way, I tried "putting content up" at my blog for three-quarters of a year, and I went up from the initial one viewer to... ...er... ...four. Luckily I wasn't into blogging for viewers but for my own interest, but I can tell you that discreetly participating in other blogs was considerably more effective than content alone!
Now you just left click a link and see what happens
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbjRFd205qo
Y'know, it'll take a while for me to stop middle-clicking on these :-)
I know the costs :D im not saying it would be a good team for 35k, but you could do it.
and the forms you need to fill in
http://www.britishformulaford.co.uk/downloads.htm
Aha... i have a photo somewhere of the com boxes...
that big screen in the middle which cuts though the top seating balcony was really annoying.... it serverly disrupted the 'champagne walk'...
what an awesome track though :D
Bloody hell at Hamilton correcting his spin!!!
Your preaching to hte converted :D these are all on my computer. along with championship budgets that i've created and collected over hte past years
sutil-esque.
Ah cool...
#wishididnthavelinux
?
Sounds like you are ready to start a team. I assumed it was just a drunken conversation
ha, they were drunk, i was pretty sober.
the grey colour which covers the rest of doohicky makes my screen go crazy, with white bars slowley moving up it... its ok for a quick look at a photo, but i cant read a post or watch a video...
odd. kathi said here's was fine.
*hers.
Dear people who "get" wave...
What do i do now
Its not just here... i think its the grey colour that does it, tweet deck had a similar problem
Yep, Dad's up for karting so looks like I'm in for Autosport 2010! :D {Comment #294}
Fantastic news, Scott :D I look forward to seeing both of you :)
Knowing this system... my monitor is probably an 'unsupported peripheral'
heheh :-)
I concur, most definitely.
Mine seems fine too. Snow Leopard + Firefox
are we going under
wha?
I think it is a wave joke
Sleeper joke
ah
Does that mean we stop using the drop then?
I think I entered this hairpin a tad too fast.
I think.
http://www.last.fm/music/Sleeper/_/What+Do+I+Do+Now?
I'm still trying to work out how I'm off the floor...
it reduces the importance of it. instead of one place, there are many places. drop.io cannot do this for example:
http://qik.com/video/3474574
who's up for a post by midnight tonight? {Comment #541}
Here are my Thursday Thoughts.
oooh.... hehe, i had completly forgotten to watch that!
If i hadnt pointed it out we could totally have bluffed amy! good job we didnt need to in the end... :D
Can someone please explain to me how this works?
http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/product/39634-blue-microphones-icicle.html
Im a little confused
wait, is it just a xlr to usb lead (put simplistically?)
Mr C...question...
Does such a product exist that is of the following spec...
XLR recorder....so basically...you plug it in the bottom of a microphone and it has a record button and internal memory to record
I can't find anything like that.
is it allowed to have a lead?
Yup
yeah, we have one. a zoom h4:
http://www.zoom.co.jp/english/products/h4/
