Hey everyone, happy Saturday! Our lovely site owner Christine has agreed to swap daily duties with me this weekend as I’m moving into my university accommodation tomorrow (eek!) If you’ve got any advice about university life feel free to add them in the comments, I’m starting to get very nervous! However it’s not just a big weekend for me, it’s a big weekend for us all because this weekend Jenson will get his 10th win … I mean… it’s the last European race of the season before the circus flies off to Singapore. Anyway, lets not talk about the future, lets talk about today. Not sure what to talk about? Well I have some ideas to get you started;

  • We’ll start with some Formula 1 related talk, as we’re on the subject. Yesterday, it being Friday saw the usual Free Practice sessions. Free Practice 1 was of course the best, not that I’m biased.  Although maybe you should check the FP2 results too to make up your own mind.  I didn’t manage to catch FP1 or FP2 yesterday and as I’ve got a rubbish memory I’ll be watching Webber’s lap of Monza to remind myself of the track ahead of FP3 and Quali. Not sure what time to tune in to catch the action today? Make sure you head over to this page to find out.
  • You’re aware of this by now I’m sure but we have two commenters present at the Grand Prix this weekend, F1Wolf and our favourite European tourist Amy. They’ve both been keeping us up to date with their experiences and while Amy’s had already had a pit tour with Virgin GP and spotted some of our favourite F1 people. F1 Wolf is also in for a brilliant day as he is a VIP guest with Renault! Some people have all the luck! You can keep an eye on what they’re both up to today and throughout the weekend either in the comments or on their twitter pages. F1Wolf is here , while you can check out Amy’s tweets here.  I hope they both have a fabulous day, and get lots of photos for us!
  • Are you a Heikki fan? Would you like him to call you? No I’m really not kidding, Heikki will actually call you (well maybe his voicemail will…). All you need to do is enter this competition.
  • As an ending point I wanted to bring your attention to something non Formula 1 related, the winners of the 2010 Astronomy Photographer of the Year competition have been announced! it really is worth giving this rather beautiful slideshow a watch. Some very unique, stunning images were chosen as winners and my gosh they are lovely! Also if you’d like to see the rest of the entries they can be found on the flickr site.

So I think that’s about it for today, if you’d like to have a go at writing a daily, whether it be a one off post or on a regular basis we’ve got some slots coming up and what better time to give it a go. I love writing daily posts, and I’m sure you will too if you give it a try! Have a lovely day everyone!
