The NFL has given us a schedule of brilliant ‘rivalries’ this week. First up, on TNF, we have a battle of the birds: The Seattle Seahawks make the short flight to the Arizona Cardinals in this all NFC West matchup (01:25 Fri – Sky Sports). On Sunday evening the battle of the big cats sees the Cincinnati Bengals hosted by the Detroit Lions (18:00 Sun – Sky Sports). Next the freefalling Houston Texans tackle the Kansas City Chiefs (21:25 Sun – Sky Sports). The Chiefs are undefeated and sit atop of the standings totem pole. The last game on SNF is not just a battle of the horses, but its Peyton Manning’s return to his old team – the Denver Broncos play the Indianapolis Colts (01:30 Mon – C4). Finally, on MNF, Giants face off against Vikings when New York hosts Minnesotta (01:40 Tues – Eurosport). The Purples and the Big Blue are a combined 1-10 to start their season – ouch! That’s not comfortable reading for either set of fans.

Trash talk is part of sport but Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay is way out of order in having a dig at Peyton Manning saying he would rather have more superbowl rings than all the great numbers put up by Manning. Peyton carried his team for years and deserves better than that.

Apart from anything else it is not very bright winding up Peyton before the game.

Seahaws go 83 yards in 2 minutes for a TD. The final play started on the 35 yard line and the QB dropped back 10 yards and looked like he was in trouble but he launched the ball into the end zone giving his receiver an easy TD

Should have added that he had no protection whatever and 3 Arizona players in his face when he made the throw

  • Steven Roy18/10/2013 at 01:57

This is the first time I have watched the Seahawks in ages. Wilson at QB looks really good but Seattle need to get him some protection or he is never going to be as good as he could be. Change that to if they don't get him some protection he is going to get severelly squished.

Seahawks were 14-0 up after two really quick drives. Arizona scred a field goal and then got a TD after Wilson was left unprotected inside his own 10 and had the ball stripped during the sack.

Just realised that no-one in this game is wearing any pink

Half time 17-10 Seahawks. Time for bed.

Hi Dan, yes thanks. It's probably not even going to be close.

Hi Dan, yes thanks. It's probably not even going to be close.

Also, could tonight be the night that the Jags win?

  • Dan Bolton20/10/2013 at 17:15

Atlanta go 3 and out on opening drive. Douglas v Revis isn't going to be pretty.

  • Dan Bolton20/10/2013 at 17:15

    Defensive touchdown to the Falcons!!!

  • Will^20/10/2013 at 17:15

    Chargers already 7 up.

  • Dan Bolton20/10/2013 at 17:16

AJ Green just made scoring TD's very easy. Much watch play for later on.

  • Will^20/10/2013 at 17:18

Ohhh no! Fred Jackson is injuured, and i was so close to pulling him out - damn Fabs' Start'em-sit'em.

  • Dan Bolton20/10/2013 at 17:20

I started CJ Spiller. This could be the breakthrough I am waiting from for my number 1 pick overall.,

  • Will^20/10/2013 at 17:21

Worst is I just traded from him in that league - i needed his RB points

  • Dan Bolton20/10/2013 at 17:22

How you doing in that league? Struggling against the "experts"?

  • Will^20/10/2013 at 17:22

Last week I was 3-0 across my leagues, I think I will do well to be 1-2 today.

  • Will^20/10/2013 at 17:23

How you doing in that league? Struggling against the "experts"?

I'm 2-4 - suffering from Megatron and Kaep! (and other poor performers)

  • Will^20/10/2013 at 17:24

So much so thst I'm starting Foles over Kaep

  • Will^20/10/2013 at 17:28

If you want to look in on the TMF league, it's public: http://fantasy.nfl.com/league/1521582

  • Will^20/10/2013 at 17:34

Forte 2yarder TD for da Bears - helps in all 3 leagues.

  • Dan Bolton20/10/2013 at 17:36

Still pleased with the Panthers pick 6. Picked them in both leagues this week. Currently my biggest scorers.

  • Dan Bolton20/10/2013 at 17:47

Jacquizz Rodgers puts the Falcons 14-0 up with a 19 yard reception.

  • Will^20/10/2013 at 17:53

VJax makes a huge 1harder TD catch for the Buccs

  • Dan Bolton20/10/2013 at 17:53

Impressive TD, got to give credit for that.

  • Will^20/10/2013 at 17:54

Imagine what this year's Rivers could do with VJax opposite Keenen Allen.

  • Dan Bolton20/10/2013 at 17:58

You might be getting somewhere near the Chiefs and Broncos. So tough this year. You guys could yet get 2nd wildcard!

  • Will^20/10/2013 at 18:01

Hmmm... if Miami and the Jets fall back, the North will eat itself and now the Texans are self destructing... I think you're right.

I've not looked at the Falcons' position - probs going for the 6th seed if anything.

  • Dan Bolton20/10/2013 at 18:07

Almost definitely, Saints probably have the division. 49'ers will get 5th seed. Just leaves number 6 to snatch heroically late in the year.

  • Will^20/10/2013 at 18:09

You've got competition from the Lions and Bears in the North... and should be ok from the East.

  • Will^20/10/2013 at 18:10

Cutler coming off for the Bears, he's in pain.

  • Dan Bolton20/10/2013 at 18:15

I only thought about picking up HD yesterday when I realised it was to late for this week, DAMN.

  • Dan Bolton20/10/2013 at 18:17

    HD?

  • Dan Bolton20/10/2013 at 18:17

    HD?

    Harry Douglas.

  • Will^20/10/2013 at 18:17

    Harry Douglas.

Ahh yes, my timeline has just exploded with his name.

  • Steven Roy20/10/2013 at 18:22

Devin Hester runs a punt back 81 yards for a TD.

Nice intro to tonight's NFL for me

Just like all the scoring as you arrived to every match in the Euros :)

  • Will^20/10/2013 at 18:29

Rivers comes up short on the qb-dive, as time runs out.

  • Steven Roy20/10/2013 at 18:32

Just like all the scoring as you arrived to every match in the Euros :)

I had forgotten all about that. I wonder if that carries over to the world cup next year.

I am not going to be around much during this game due to cooking and stuff, Will see the whole of the next on though

  • Will^20/10/2013 at 19:10

Calvin Johnson back to scoring ways.

  • Will^20/10/2013 at 19:24

Teehee, Chargers rookie HC threw his challenge flag on a play which is automatically reviewed... loses a timeout. #doh

I guess that is what happens when rules get complicated

    Nice TD Bengals

  • Will^20/10/2013 at 19:36

I guess that is what happens when rules get complicated

Rivers tried to stand on it and hide it, before kicking it back to him - didn't work

  • Noelinho20/10/2013 at 19:37

Hi guys, thought I'd check in. Only watching the Patriots game at the moment.

  • Will^20/10/2013 at 19:37

Megatron gets another TD - this one in tripie coverage.

  • Noelinho20/10/2013 at 19:39

Jets TD called back for OPI

  • Will^20/10/2013 at 19:39

Jets TD called back for OPI

    that is soo Jets

  • Will^20/10/2013 at 19:50

Matt Barkley coming in at QB for the Eagles - Foles appears hurt.

  • Noelinho20/10/2013 at 20:09

    27-27 in Pats - Jets. 0:16 left.

  • Noelinho20/10/2013 at 20:10

Chicago up by three against Washington. Could get OT there too. 41-38.

  • Noelinho20/10/2013 at 20:16

Wow. Great Redskins 3rd down completion under pressure with less than 3 mins to go.

  • Steven Roy20/10/2013 at 20:16

Bengals kick a field goal with 4 seconds left in the game to break the tie

  • Noelinho20/10/2013 at 20:19

Redskins in FG territory, Pats punting in OT.

  • Will^ (iPad)20/10/2013 at 20:23

I've switched to the radio - not watching many late evening games for me this season.

  • Noelinho20/10/2013 at 20:24

Redskins TD. Looks like they've done enough.

  • Noelinho20/10/2013 at 20:24

1 TO and 45 seconds for a TD is going to be a bit much, I think.

  • Noelinho20/10/2013 at 20:24

Which is a shame, I wanted OT there.

  • Steven Roy20/10/2013 at 20:26

The game at Arrowhead has just kicked off.

    KC get first possession

  • Dan Bolton20/10/2013 at 20:26

Jets with a FG attempt to win.

  • Dan Bolton20/10/2013 at 20:28

Jets miss the kick, but penalty on the patriots for holding. Jets are surely in range now.

  • Steven Roy20/10/2013 at 20:29

KC go 3 and out. Texans get the ball with their untried QB Case Keenum

  • Dan Bolton20/10/2013 at 20:31

    JETS BEAT THE PATRIOTS!

  • Will^ (iPad)20/10/2013 at 20:35

    JETS BEAT THE PATRIOTS!

Goodd job they've already lost... They'd hate to cost them an unbeaten record

  • Steven Roy20/10/2013 at 20:36

    Keenum's first series

    Hand off 0 yards

Hand off 11 yards First down

Lateral pass 10 yards First down

Play action hail Mary. Receiver dived and 'caught' it in both hands at the 3 yard line but couldn't hold it

    Hand off 0 yards

Nice pass through a batch of defenders. 10 yards First down

    Hand off 0 yards

Unloaded the ball just in time to avoid the sack

    Hand off -2 yards

QB did well but the play calling is not great

    FG

  • Noelinho20/10/2013 at 20:38

Goodd job they've already lost... They'd hate to cost them an unbeaten record

    ESPECIALLY with that penalty call.

  • Will^ (iPad)20/10/2013 at 20:39

    ESPECIALLY with that penalty call.

    and to geno!!

  • Noelinho20/10/2013 at 20:41

    and to geno!!

    Forget Gino, to Rex Ryan.

Any further comment on that would be against the commenting policy.

don't think you even need to continue .. Your views as a pats fan are both implicit and explicit

  • Steven Roy20/10/2013 at 20:48

    TD Chiefs

  • Steven Roy20/10/2013 at 20:51

Packers in dark blue and yellow is weird

  • Steven Roy20/10/2013 at 21:00

Fabulous TD pass by Keesum launched it at the corner of the end zone from around the 35 yard line and placed it in the receiver's hands

  • Steven Roy20/10/2013 at 22:29

Another fabulous pass by Keesum. Lost the pressure and made lots of time for himself to make a long pass

  • Steven Roy20/10/2013 at 22:29

Another fabulous pass by Keesum. Lost the pressure and made lots of time for himself to make a long pass

    Keenum not Keesum

  • Steven Roy20/10/2013 at 22:47

Not sure how the Chiefs failed to get a TD but the Texans take over on their own one yard line

  • Steven Roy20/10/2013 at 23:12

Still one point in the game and 5:47 to go. Smith just threw an interception. Gives Keenum time to make himself the hero on his first start

  • Steven Roy20/10/2013 at 23:12

3 and out after Kennum got flattened

  • Kai20/10/2013 at 23:21

I'm watching the end of Packers and Steelers. Just turned it on.

  • Kai20/10/2013 at 23:21

oh, no, it's KC and Hou. :)

  • Kai20/10/2013 at 23:22

Love when they're close at the end.

  • Steven Roy20/10/2013 at 23:23

Case Keenum is starting his first NFL game today. He has never even played a down before. He has played really well but he needs better protection

Using an online calculator he has a QB rating of 110. Not bad for a first game in a team that is not having a good season

I saw them. I am sure they wore them a couple of years ago too. They look familiar but maybe other teams had something similar. It makes a nice change from the modern stuff

Damn. Wish I would've been able to stay up for last night's battle of the horsies - amazing box-score!

I watched the start of the game and when I gave up and went to bed it looked like it would be a Broncos win. I was very surprised to see the result this morning
