If last week was the penultimate, then this is the ultimate weekend of regular season football, and what a Sunday of games we have. Thirteen out of sixteen games have playoff implications and in the NFC no division is decided, yet. First up the Green Bay Packers are hosted at the Chicago Bears (18:00 Sun – Sky Sports). The Pack have their superstar QB Aaron Rodgers back after an injury in this winner-takes-all NFC North matchup. Next the Baltimore Ravens need a W to keep playoff chances alive, and the Cincinnati Bengals have the chance to move up to the #2 seed when these two face off in this all AFC North affair (21:25 Sun – Sky Sports). And finally, it’s win-and-in in the NFC East when the Philadelphia Eagles travel to the Dallas Cowboys, who will in all likelihood be without their starting QB, Tony Romo (01:30 Mon – C4).

    Evening.

Bengals throw an interception on what looks like the first play of the game

Bengals throw an interception on what looks like the first play of the game

Clearly they don't want to challenge the Pats for a bye.

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 18:10

Baltimore score the first points of the weekend with a field goal

  • Will^29/12/2013 at 18:16

Steelers (TD) took the lead against the Browns. If they win, + Ravens, Dolphins and Chargers all lose, Pittsburgh make the post-season.

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 18:19

    Another interception by the Ravens

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 18:19

Atlanta challenging an incomplete Carolina pass. Doesn't look like they have a hope of it being called a fumble tbh.

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 18:20

Texans have taken the lead. They may be just about to screw up their first draft pick by winning

  • Will^29/12/2013 at 18:20

Plenty of time for Schaub to throw another Schaub.

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 18:30

Vikings WR takes a pitch, fakes a throw and runs it 50 yards into the endzone against Detroit. Embarrassing.

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 18:30

Plenty of time for Schaub to throw another Schaub.

I watched Louisville hammer Miami last night and the commentators were convinced that the Louisville QB Teddy Bridgewater will be first overall pick in the draft and will got to the Texans because of the coaching changes there. He can still play another season in college football

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 18:30

    That is ridiculous

Amazing - I await it appearing on RedZone.

It appeared five minutes ago - that's what I'm watching :-)

Must've not been looking at window at that moment.

    HUGE TD for the Bengals

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 18:35

Bengals finally figured out how to catch a long pass. 53 yards for a TD

  • Will^29/12/2013 at 18:36

The Ravens will be regretting only getting FGs.

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 18:37

The Ravens will be regretting only getting FGs.

They had a great chance earlier when a long pass was caught at the 5 yard line but it hit the ground so had to go back and they only got the FG

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 18:51

I have a question. If a team gets a first down, and is hit by a personal foul penalty afterwards, do they get 1st and 10, but 15 yards further back, or 1st and 25?

I don't recall it ever happening, and I can't work out which way round it would be. Figuring it would be 1st and 25?

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 18:52

The lions just returned an interception from the endzone to about the 40.

  • Will^29/12/2013 at 18:58

I have a question. If a team gets a first down, and is hit by a personal foul penalty afterwards, do they get 1st and 10, but 15 yards further back, or 1st and 25?

It depends where the foul is called. If they play is over, then the penalty is applied to the new spot of the ball (and set of downs). If the penalty is during the play (eg on the Line) then it can bring the whole play back... so it would be a 1st and 10, but the LoS is 15 yards back from the end of the previous play. At least that's how I understand it.

    That seems right to me

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 19:12

Yes, I was talking about a penalty after the play has ended. If the penalty is during the play, obviously the first down wouldn't stand.

Is the Eagles/Cowboys game winner takes all?

  • Will^29/12/2013 at 19:12

Is the Eagles/Cowboys game winner takes all?

    Yup.

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 19:13

Also, is Mr C joining lateR?

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 19:13

Is the Eagles/Cowboys game winner takes all?

Eagles would go level with a win but they have a better in division record

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 19:16

Falcons punt it to the 2.

Suddenly cold weather is less appealing

The cold is ok, but not with that rain. It looks miserable. Giants lead the Redskins 7-3.

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 19:23

Ravens will really be upset about only getting field goals on their interceptions now.

    Ravens 6 Bengals 17

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 19:23

Henne intercepted. Think the ball was tipped as he threw.

  • Kai29/12/2013 at 19:24

Don't worry, it won't affect the Giants' play.

They play outside. It's part of what they know. I live nearby. It's pouring and cold. I just wouldn't want to be out in it.

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 19:28

    Jets TD, Colts FG

  • Kai29/12/2013 at 19:28

Lots of dropped passes by the Giants and Redskins. Pr'ly how they got to where they are.

  • Kai29/12/2013 at 19:29

    crappy year for both.

Mike Tulbert is a beast. He just rammed straight through the middle of the Falcons D for 17.

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 19:31

    Redskins interception.

  • Kai29/12/2013 at 19:33

Eli to locker room. Substantial limp. His ankle got caught under the guy who tackled him.

This is a mess of a game.

    For sure.

  • Kai29/12/2013 at 19:34

    *clicks*

Colts TD. Jaguars aren't going to win today.

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 19:48

Looks like they're reviewing to make sure he wasn't down.

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 19:48

    Colts are killing Jacksonville. 26-3

    Bengals throw a third pick

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 19:48

How are Baltimore not winning this game. Bengals keep giving them the ball

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 19:52

Three interceptions for the Ravens and they get three field goals

  • Mr C29/12/2013 at 19:53

i like the wind tracker graphic. is that new?

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 19:54

Yay, another Ravens field goal. Well, at least they won't be stealing the Superbowl this year then.

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 19:54

i like the wind tracker graphic. is that new?

I missed that. Was it on TV?

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 19:55

    Steelers FG. They lead 17-0/

  • Mr C29/12/2013 at 19:55

I missed that. Was it on TV?

just before the field goal, in the lower right was a live "wind" display.

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 19:55

i like the wind tracker graphic. is that new?

It was at the field goal wasn't it. That's the first time I have seen it

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 19:59

    Falcons TD

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 20:00

Bengals just managed to punt the ball 10 yards. Went almost straight across the field. Massive mis-kick

  • Kai29/12/2013 at 20:00

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 20:08

Failed miserably but there is a penalty on the Bengals for holding. Half the distance to the goal

  • Kai29/12/2013 at 20:08

Just when you thought his season couldn't get worse he finishes it with an injury

I'm glad he's out of the misery. I guess he's in a different kind of pain now. Poor guy.

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 20:09

Made it at the second attempt and tied the game

TD Bengals. 14th consecutive time that they have scored a TD on a red zone possession. That must be close to a record to score on 14 consecutive red zone possessions

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 20:28

I take it by now everyone knows that Michael Schumacher is in hospital with a head injury from a skiing accident today. There is no official news but Gary Hartstein's tweets interpreting how people are behaving suggests it may be serious

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 20:29

    Ravens intercepted this time

If the Bengals, Dolphins continue and lose and the Steelers win, then a Chargers win later sends SD to the playoffs, otherwise it's PIT.

It's the last week of the regular season! It's fine, because it's split into two groups of games :-)

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 20:30

oh yikes. it's one of those weeks. i'll never keep up.

This is the last week of the regular season so at the end of today's games everything will be clear

  • Will^29/12/2013 at 20:31

oh yikes. it's one of those weeks. i'll never keep up.

I'll do an update once these games finish - we should know a lot more by then

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 20:31

If the Dolphins win, they go into the playoffs. If they don't, the Ravens do if they win. Failing that, the Chargers do if the y win (later). Failing that, I can't see Pittsburgh losing to Cleveland given the current score.

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 20:32

Looks like it'll be the Chargers' spot to lose.

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 20:32

oh yikes. it's one of those weeks. i'll never keep up.

The AFC is not so bad but the NFC is ridiculous for the last week of the season. Not a single division has been clinched and 3 out of 4 teams can still win one of them. Best to wait till after the results and see what happened

  • Will^29/12/2013 at 20:33

Not quite, if the Fins and Ravens win then the Chargers result still affects which goes to the playoffs

    righto :)

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 20:34

Ah, but in the NFC, there are some nice ones. Like the really late game: winner takes the division, loser goes on an early holiday.

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 20:35

Not quite, if the Fins and Ravens win then the Chargers result still affects which goes to the playoffs

Ravens are ten points down with less than 12 minutes to go

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 20:36

Not quite, if the Fins and Ravens win then the Chargers result still affects which goes to the playoffs

Yeah, I was working on the assumption that won't happen now :-)

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 20:36

    Ravens almost got intercepted again

  • Will^29/12/2013 at 20:36

Ravens are ten points down with less than 12 minutes to go

It's not likely to happen, I give you that, but there is a scenario where the Chargers are out of it, but their result can still affect things. I can't remember which way though.

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 20:43

Green-Ellis broke 4 Ravens tackles, only came down when his own man went into him.

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 20:44

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 20:47

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 20:57

NFC West teams have 42 wins between them this season.

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 21:00

The AFC is wide open. Who's impressive there? No one is massively.

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 21:00

NFC West teams have 42 wins between them this season.

I was looking at that earlier. Crazy that a team can be clear last with 7 & 8

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 21:00

    Tannehill intercepted. Jets win.

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 21:01

I was looking at that earlier. Crazy that a team can be clear last with 7 & 8

I think the AFC comes down to the Pats, Broncos or Chiefs. I would tip Denver at this stage but things always change in the playoffs

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 21:02

I think the Patriots would fear the Bengals.

  • Will^29/12/2013 at 21:02

@RapSheet: The #Dolphins needed a win for the playoffs over the course of the last 8 quarters. They have scored 7 points total #fail

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 21:02

Of course, the Patriots and Bengals are both unbeaten at home.

  • Will^29/12/2013 at 21:02

I think the Patriots would fear the Bengals.

Dalton has played well(ish) at home recently.

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 21:03

Bengals will be lucky to get more than one game at home in the playoffs

Dalton has played well(ish) at home recently.

If Pats and Bengals meet, I would imagine it would go with home advantage. No 2 seed is really important.

  • Will^29/12/2013 at 21:04

All on Brady and his rag-tag bunch of weapons.

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 21:04

Bengals will be lucky to get more than one game at home in the playoffs

If the Pats lose today, they are no 2.

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 21:05

    Panthers win

  • Will^29/12/2013 at 21:05

    Panthers win

    #2 seed?

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 21:06

If the Pats lose today, they are no 2.

I can't see Buffalo beating the Pats

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 21:07

    Bengals win

  • Mr C29/12/2013 at 21:07

    Bengals win

    fun game.

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 21:08

    fun game.

It was very odd especially early on when the Bengals kept throwing interceptions but managed somehow to keep a lead

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 21:10

I was looking at that earlier. Crazy that a team can be clear last with 7 & 8

NFC West also topped last year, but with 35 wins, along with NFC North.

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 21:11

This means the NFC South had the hardest schedule this year, by about 20%.

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 21:11

And 40% harder than the third-hardest schedule.

  • Will^29/12/2013 at 21:12

This means the NFC South had the hardest schedule this year, by about 20%.

And still the Saints and Panthers are in the mix (is that down to the Bucs' and Falcons' bad form?)

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 21:12

Well the NFC South played the NFC West, which was tough. Panthers came out 1-2 from that, I think.

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 21:13

They also played the AFC East.

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 21:22

    Amazing stat on Sky.

Bears have given up more points this season than in any season in their 91 year history

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 21:23

Bears have given up more points this season than in any season in their 91 year history

There was a game in I think 1940 where they gave up I think only 16 yards.

Mind you, they only gained 14.

  • Kai29/12/2013 at 21:27

Giants beat Redskins. Now I hope those guys get inside and get warm.

  • Will^29/12/2013 at 21:29

This is their 2nd best season on offence though.

    YES!!!

HaHaHA! Knew you might have somethign to say on the matter.

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 21:34

That's one team that won't beat us to the AFC East next year then!

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 21:35

I don't know what Rodgers called at that last play but it sounded like "Free the rocket technique"

  • Will^29/12/2013 at 21:36

Peyton with only 199y to go until he breaks the (Drew Brees') passing record.

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 21:36

HaHaHA! Knew you might have somethign to say on the matter.

Well the other thing I would say about it goes against the commenting policy.

Gary Hartstein's tweets made interesting reading. Apparently the hospital decided to defer to Schumacher's press people which is odd.

Gary Hartstein's tweets made interesting reading. Apparently the hospital decided to defer to Schumacher's press people which is odd.

Kind of understandable on some level.

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 21:50

Gary Hartstein's tweets made interesting reading.

I've just been reading them. Important to bear in mind though, even though he's an expert in the clinical side, he's still making a best guess as to what's actually going on.

  • Will^29/12/2013 at 21:52

I've just been reading them. Important to bear in mind though, even though he's an expert in the clinical side, he's still making a best guess as to what's actually going on.

True. I like to think that he's just trying to flesh out the situation for all those people who have no clue, and prefer to tweet horrific rumours.

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 21:53

I've just been reading them. Important to bear in mind though, even though he's an expert in the clinical side, he's still making a best guess as to what's actually going on.

True but he has knowledge of a lot more of these situations than us and knows what normally happens when it ends up being good news and what happens when it ends up being bad news

Do Green Bay lead after that? Does it count?

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 22:34

  • Kai29/12/2013 at 22:35

    Surprise!

Everyone thought the play was dead. It wasn't.

  • Will^29/12/2013 at 22:35

Packers' TD - Rodgers' ~fumble after being hit, collected and ran home.

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 22:36

That was weird. Rodgers pulled his arm back to pass and it looked like he had thrown an incomplete pass. The ball lay on the ground for a while then one of the Packers picked the ball up. Then people on the sideline shouted at him that the ball was still live becase the ball was really knocked out by a defender.

Packers get a TD from a blown play

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 22:37

If the ball is on the ground go and pick it up then argue whether it is live or not

Rams have had a player ejected, I assume. Penalised for contact with an official. That'll be why the hat flew off.

  • Mr C29/12/2013 at 23:48

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 23:51

they don't. Take the XP, lead by 8.

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 23:56

Packers go for one point despite being two behind

    crazy.

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 23:57

    crazy.

I guess they are working on the basis that there is still a lot of time left.

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 23:57

    Chargers level.

  • Noelinho29/12/2013 at 23:58

I guess they are working on the basis that there is still a lot of time left.

But if you're behind by two, even two field goals makes it back to 8?

  • Steven Roy29/12/2013 at 23:59

But if you're behind by two, even two field goals makes it back to 8?

The only other way to look at it is if you go for two and fail then the Bears get a TD you need to score twice

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 00:05

The only other way to look at it is if you go for two and fail then the Bears get a TD you need to score twice

If the Bears get another TD, they can also go for two. I think they should have done anyway.

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 00:06

If the Bears get another TD, they can also go for two. I think they should have done anyway.

But they won't because they have a one point lead so they will go for one to force GB to go for 2

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 00:09

But they won't because they have a one point lead so they will go for one to force GB to go for 2

But if they go for two and get it, Green Bay have to score twice. If they fail, Green Bay would still only tie because they wouldn't go for two and risk losing by one.

I don't see either going for two as a big risk. Especially for the Bears, now I think of it more.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 00:13

Wow, Arizona just tied it up vs 49ers.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 00:13

That's the kind of information you need. Like grass is green and scoring TDs is good

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 00:19

Packers now on 4th and maybe 2-ish at the 2 minute warning

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 00:19

That's the kind of information you need. Like grass is green and scoring TDs is good

I mean, how else would it be recorded?

  • Mr C30/12/2013 at 00:20

I mean, how else would it be recorded?

    i didn't think american's accepted ties?

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 00:21

    i didn't think american's accepted ties?

Only under extreme stress. If it's tied at the end of the 4th, they play another 15 minutes. If during that period, no-one has scored, it's a tie. Except in the play-offs, when you must have a winner.

But some people want to get rid of all ties.

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 00:21

Packers now on 4th and maybe 2-ish at the 2 minute warning

Rodgers to Nelson. Pack are still alive

Chargers faked the punt near their own 30. Given as a first down!

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 00:24

I think the ball was out. That must be reviewed.

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 00:25

    TD Packers

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 00:25

I didn't see the ball touch the floor though.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 00:25

The play wasn't reviewed! The Chiefs had returned it for a TD too...

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 00:26

    Pack TD!!

That's funny. Never seen it before

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 00:32

Chargers FG. But it's not over, as per NFL overtime rules.

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 00:32

Cutler throws an intercepted hail Mary to end the game.

    Packers win the division

  • Kai30/12/2013 at 00:32

    GB wins

  • Mr C30/12/2013 at 00:33

That's funny. Never seen it before

C4 need to make one exactly the opposite for people like me.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 00:33

    Pack get NFC #4 seed.

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 00:33

C4 need to make one exactly the opposite for people like me.

    That could be interesting

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 00:34

Feely ties for Arizona. Though he missed two earlier. Nothing in it for Arizona now, but still, free football!

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 00:40

Chiefs going for a 59 yard field goal on 4th and 15

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 00:41

Chiefs going for a 59 yard field goal on 4th and 15

Offence still on the field not field goal unit.

    Chargers win

    49ers going for a 40 yard FG

    Made it

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 00:42

    I've not seen either yet.

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 00:43

    I've not seen either yet.

Sorry. I had no idea that you had that much of a delay

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 00:43

Sorry. I had no idea that you had that much of a delay

Gamepass has at least a one minute delay.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 00:43

    Just seen the SF FG

  • john30/12/2013 at 00:46

alright, now that all the riff raff is out of the way, almost time to bring on the big guns.

    lets go cowboys.....

    please win...

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 00:55

I'll be back nearer kick off :-)

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 00:55

Currently crunching the numbers for the play-off power rankings.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 01:19

Remember, no Tony Romo tonight for Dallas. Kyle Orton in his place. And as a backup, he's solid.

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 01:30

Just about to kick off in Dallas

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 01:38

Dallas turn over the ball on their first possession

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 01:39

I'm rooting for the Eagles, just because that would mean Cowboys have lost the last three week 17 games, all for the division title

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 01:39

Broncos finish the season 13-3 despite both AFC wildcards being in their division.

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 01:40

I'm rooting for the Eagles, just because that would mean Cowboys have lost the last three week 17 games, all for the division title

I am sure Kai would approve.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 01:42

Broncos finish the season 13-3 despite both AFC wildcards being in their division.

Their division also had the weakest schedule.

  • Kai30/12/2013 at 01:42

I am sure Kai would approve.

:)Yep. But Jason Whitten TE is on my fantasy team, so he can have a good night. ;)

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 01:43

:)Yep. But Jason Whitten TE is on my fantasy team, so he can have a good night. ;)

It is amazing how often fantasy games leave you totally conflicted or wanting two entirely opposite things to happen at the same time

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 01:43

    Eagles lead.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 01:45

Carolina Panthers easily top my Power Rankings. Seahawks second, Patriots third, Broncos fourth.

  • john30/12/2013 at 01:47

I'm rooting for the Eagles, just because that would mean Cowboys have lost the last three week 17 games, all for the division title

    booooooooo.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 01:48

    booooooooo.

Well, they just need to learn to see the season out then :-)

  • john30/12/2013 at 01:49

Well, they just need to learn to see the season out then :-)

    haven't in 17 years....

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 01:49

Also, FWIW, Eagles are miles ahead of Cowboys in my Power Rankings.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 01:49

    haven't in 17 years....

    They have, just prematurely.

  • john30/12/2013 at 02:00

geez can se why the cowboys have their worst defence ever, holes everywhere.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 02:03

Foles has thrown the ball excellently this season.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 02:03

    TD Cowboys

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 02:03

    Woops, Eagles.

  • john30/12/2013 at 02:04

    TD Cowboys

    yes I wish...

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 02:04

    It's late.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 02:04

Ten zip, and this could get away from the Cowboys fast.

  • john30/12/2013 at 02:05

    It's late.

nice time here, 12:30 pm, one of the rare times I get to watch the cowboys live, normally im at work or it starts at 4am

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 02:06

Looks like Steven might be gone.

  • Kai30/12/2013 at 02:06

I'm switching between the game and various other things.

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 02:07

Looks like Steven might be gone.

Nope. Just been doing other stuff while watching

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 02:07

Decent return from the Cowboys there.

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 02:07

I'm switching between the game and various other things.

Must be your fault that I am being distracted with other things too

  • john30/12/2013 at 02:08

Ten zip, and this could get away from the Cowboys fast.

especially without romo who normally plays unbelievably well to keep them in it. for all his late game flaws he his an awesome player who has to play so well just to keep it close.

    the defence is just pathetic.

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 02:08

Mike Carlson reckons there are around 12 head coaches who could be out of a job soon

  • Kai30/12/2013 at 02:09

Must be your fault that I am being distracted with other things too

    Probably.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 02:09

Orton's good. He can keep them in it too. But the defence needs to step up.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 02:10

Eagles have set a franchise record for TDs. 61 this season.

  • Kai30/12/2013 at 02:10

    the defence is just pathetic.

It's so frustrating to watch when your guys are just not up to par.

  • john30/12/2013 at 02:10

Orton's good. He can keep them in it too. But the defence needs to step up.

hes alright, but we will see just how important romo is to this team.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 02:10

    Sorry, 51 TDs.

  • Kai30/12/2013 at 02:11

hes alright, but we will see just how important romo is to this team.

    That's true.

  • john30/12/2013 at 02:11

    Sorry, 51 TDs.

    might be 61 soon.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 02:12

    might be 61 soon.

Not to be fatalistic or anything.

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 02:20

    Great pass under pressure.

  • john30/12/2013 at 02:21

wiliams has been huge this year, taken over from Austin who they should look at trading.

  • john30/12/2013 at 02:21

    yes, much better.

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 02:22

Love the up and over dive for the TD

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 02:23

3 point game. Now it is time for the Cowboys D to step up

  • john30/12/2013 at 02:24

    yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees

    yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees

escobar, where did that come from

  • Mr C30/12/2013 at 02:28

had a spooky sense of deja-va that i'd spent last xmas late-night coding while watching nfl on C4.

    http://sidepodcast.com/event/nfl-week-17-2012-nfl-season#comment-3107725

    yup.

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 02:30

had a spooky sense of deja-va that i'd spent last xmas late-night coding while watching nfl on C4.

It was the Cowboys then too

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 02:30

had a spooky sense of deja-va that i'd spent last xmas late-night coding while watching nfl on C4.

Hehe, I gave up with mine and closed it. Can't concentrate enough on it when football is on.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 02:30

It was the Cowboys then too

    And they lost then too.

  • Mr C30/12/2013 at 02:31

It was the Cowboys then too

    And they lost then too.

    :)

my life is quite literally going round in circles.

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 02:31

    And they lost then too.

We are not even at half time yet and you have them losing already

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 02:34

We are not even at half time yet and you have them losing already

Well they are, and I'd pick them to lose, and my rankings would have them lose. Doesn't mean they will, but the signs point to a more likely Philly win.

  • john30/12/2013 at 02:35

nice, starting to move the ball.

  • john30/12/2013 at 02:36

Well they are, and I'd pick them to lose, and my rankings would have them lose. Doesn't mean they will, but the signs point to a more likely Philly win.

will be 4 wins in a row against philly if the cowboys win today... big if there though.

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 02:38

Interception. in and out of Witten's hands. You can't do that when you need to win

  • john30/12/2013 at 02:39

    nooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

  • Kai30/12/2013 at 02:39

Interception. in and out of Witten's hands. You can't do that when you need to win

and when I need points so much. :(

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 02:39

    Great catch by Celek

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 02:39

Another theow right on the money from Foles, and then a TD

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 02:40

That is how you punish a turnover

  • Kai30/12/2013 at 02:40

Great drive. And maybe unsportsmanlike at the end...maybe not.

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 02:40

Great drive. And maybe unsportsmanlike at the end...maybe not.

Looked close to being a late hit

  • john30/12/2013 at 02:40

    that really hurts.

  • Kai30/12/2013 at 02:40

Looked close to being a late hit

    on replay it looked ok.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 02:41

Is that 30 TD throws? Not bad for a guy who wasn't even the starter.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 02:41

Looked close to being a late hit

    I think it was fine.

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 02:41

    on replay it looked ok.

Just checked it and the ball carrier still had both feet on the field

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 02:41

Is that 30 TD throws? Not bad for a guy who wasn't even the starter.

Foles has to start next season

  • john30/12/2013 at 02:44

    bring back vick.......

  • john30/12/2013 at 02:46

witten stepping up after the turnover.

  • john30/12/2013 at 02:49

somehow still in it, feels like a thumping but only a td down

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 02:49

    Love the 360 option

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 02:51

Foles has to start next season

There won't be any question about it.

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 02:51

I am happy to have a close game at half time

  • john30/12/2013 at 02:51

Foles has to start next season

can vick start the second half.....

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 03:13

can vick start the second half.....

Would be better for the Cowboys to play better. But plenty of gaps in the Philly D.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 03:16

4 point game. Still plenty of life left in it. Though it's lacking a little atmosphere.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 03:24

Big turnover. Foles rarely turns it over. Cowboys need to take advantage.

  • john30/12/2013 at 03:25

ordinary play calling, had to hit the endzone while the momentum was shifting,

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 03:28

4 point game. Still plenty of life left in it. Though it's lacking a little atmosphere.

Quite amazing for a game that decides how both team's seasons end

  • john30/12/2013 at 03:31

    hold the ball harris.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 03:32

Quite amazing for a game that decides how both team's seasons end

It's just incredibly flat. And yet, earlier, the Seahawks game against the Rams was boiling over, when it meant very little.

  • john30/12/2013 at 03:34

It's just incredibly flat. And yet, earlier, the Seahawks game against the Rams was boiling over, when it meant very little.

its strange there is 91 000 there but it sounds quiet, not sure if its the acoustics of the new stadium but it always sounds quiet there.

  • john30/12/2013 at 03:39

    big 3rd down here.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 03:39

    Two great TD opportunities missed.

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 03:39

Foles had a receiver wide open and going nuts on his left and he didn't even look at him

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 03:40

You have to go for this.

  • john30/12/2013 at 03:40

    what a tackle by carr

  • Kai30/12/2013 at 03:40

    Great defense.

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 03:40

You have to go for this.

Definitely. Worst case Dallas end up with the ball on their own one yard line

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 03:40

You still have to go for this.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 03:41

Definitely. Worst case Dallas end up with the ball on their own one yard line

Exactly. You either get points, or great field position.

  • john30/12/2013 at 03:41

cant see the cowboys holding them out.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 03:41

cant see the cowboys holding them out.

    Cheer up.

  • john30/12/2013 at 03:42

    wohoo, nice

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 03:42

Haha, good luck getting a camera in there.

  • john30/12/2013 at 03:42

    Cheer up.

oh im cheery, just have seen the cowboys d all year.

  • john30/12/2013 at 03:44

ok this time cowboys, 3 qtr time, typical cowboys game right now, has it all. another close finish coming up.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 03:47

    Philly looking jaded now.

  • Kai30/12/2013 at 03:49

I wish Wes Welker and Adrian Peterson were healthy today.

  • john30/12/2013 at 03:50

    go for it...

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 03:50

Yep, that was the wrong call.

  • Kai30/12/2013 at 03:50

    stoppped! Wow.

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 03:50

Dallas fail to convert 4th down.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 03:51

I don't think the situation call for going for it.

  • john30/12/2013 at 03:52

what is going on with the play calling at dallas, been shocking for a for three years now.

  • john30/12/2013 at 03:52

I don't think the situation call for going for it.

    handed momentum back to philly.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 03:53

    handed momentum back to philly.

But they did what you asked ;-)

  • john30/12/2013 at 03:53

But they did what you asked ;-)

would have liked a running play.......

  • john30/12/2013 at 03:55

    another big 3rd down now

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 03:58

That was too easy. The same play they used three minutes ago.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 04:01

Mike Carlson making my point about going for two from earlier :-)

  • john30/12/2013 at 04:06

    40-25 nice maths playclock.

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 04:07

    40-25 nice maths playclock.

    That was a long second

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 04:07

    40-25 nice maths playclock.

Well, the guy hit the wrong button. But not sure why it wasn't queried as Orton was walking around the place.

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 04:10

    TD Dez

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 04:10

Ooft. The play clock operator got away with that one.

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 04:11

    2 point conversion failed

  • Kai30/12/2013 at 04:11

I heard "kill kill" before the play.

  • john30/12/2013 at 04:12

I don't think my heart will last the final few minutes......

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 04:12

I heard "kill kill" before the play.

I guess the original play was worse

  • Kai30/12/2013 at 04:13

I guess the original play was worse

    haha Good coverage by Philly

  • john30/12/2013 at 04:14

3:45 if ever I wanted to see a cowboys defence get a stop....

  • john30/12/2013 at 04:15

    so nervous...

  • john30/12/2013 at 04:16

    yeeeeeeeeees.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 04:16

Foles did well to keep his head there.

  • john30/12/2013 at 04:18

its like this ever year, almost every game being a cowboys fan, I think im going to explode.

  • john30/12/2013 at 04:19

    nice punt

  • Kai30/12/2013 at 04:20

    YES!

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 04:20

    Game over.

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 04:20

    Interception.

    Dallas blew it

  • Kai30/12/2013 at 04:20

    #sorryJohn :(

Sometimes, the spirit of Romo is enough.

    :)

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 04:21

I thought the Dallas QB did well tonight. Shame that the interception that ended the game will be remembered more than anything else he did

  • Kai30/12/2013 at 04:22

    ESPN ‏@espn 1m

Once again, the Cowboys trick their fans into believing, then rip their hearts out in the end.

    Painful.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 04:22

Three straight years Dallas have lost the division title in week 17. Ouch.

  • Noelinho30/12/2013 at 04:24

Saints will have a game next week. They'd win at home, but away? Different game.

  • Kai30/12/2013 at 04:24

Will kicked my butt in our match up, AS PREDICTED. Oh well. It was fun and I had a good fantasy regular season.

Thanks for the posts all year, Will. The playoffs will be fun to watch.

  • Steven Roy30/12/2013 at 04:25

Thanks for the posts all year, Will. The playoffs will be fun to watch.

I am really looking forward to the playoffs. Then around the time of the uperbowl the Crashed Ice season starts

  • Kai30/12/2013 at 04:26

Thanks for the posts all year, Will. The playoffs will be fun to watch.

(I am aware he's not here. Hoping he'll read this later. :) )

And he seemed genuinely warm and excited, appreciating the fans, "we're playing for them." Very cool. I've never seen him interviewed before.

It's weird that I have been watching the NFL for a very long time and if I saw most of the players on the street I wouldn't recognise them or know anything about them

Wildcard Saturday then more playoff games on Sunday.

    Looking forward to it.

See you then, guys. Good night/morning/afternoon/evening.

Let's hope for some good or at least encouraging news about Schumi tomorrow/later.

this year the cowboys lost to Kansas city, Detroit and green bay by 1 point. the eagles by 2 points and Denver by 3 points. any one win would have meant playoffs.
