As we enter the final quarter of the season playoff scenarios are starting to evolve. There’s a game on TNF (01:25 Fri – Sky Sports), but the less said about that the better. SNF begins with the 7-5 Detroit Lions playing the 7-5 Philadelphia Eagles(18:00 Sun – Sky Sports). Nick Foles, Eagles’ 2nd year QB, has played so well recently that if his next 50 passes were intercepted he’d still have a better rating than the Jet’s hapless rookie QB Geno Smith. Next up the Seahawks are aiming to sweep the 49ers and fully claim bragging rights in the NFC North – Seattle are playing in San Francisco (21:25 Sun – Sky Sports). If the Panthers beat the Saints they will join them atop the NFC South, and overtake them in the race for the #2 seed – Carolina are at New Orleans (01:30 Mon – C4). This week’s MNF game is make or break for both teams, the Dallas Cowboys travel to Soldier Field to take on the Chicago Bears (01:40 Tues – Eurosport).
NFL Week 14

Philadelphia is covered in snow. You can barely see the players as they are warming up
I think the Detroit Lions should have worn blue for this game. White is not visible against snow.
I would be amazed if this game gets finished since the snow is still very heavy
I've just tuned in, Tampa with an 80-yard TD run
Have a look at the Eagles game when you get a chance. Loads of snow on the field and a lot more still landing.
it's on blackout.
I'm switching the Pats game on for a bit
Browns fumble, but the ref had stupidly blown the whistle mid-play.
http://t.co/rZw9z7V0ca
Oh, wow!
In a shock turn of events, the Pats go behind in the first quarter.
Plenty snow in Pittsburgh - I've switched to that game.
The first and 10 graphics people are doing a great job. They already have all the normal field markings superimposed on the video so you can tell where players are on the field
Currently looking at my fantasy team, making changes.
Made a last-minute change, swapped 49ers out for Bengals and benched Seahawks on defense.
The referee in Philadelphia is already having difficulty speaking due to the cold.
Lions had an incomplete pass on th down but the play clock ran out just before the ball was 'slapped' according to the referee. After the five yard penalty they completed a pass to get a first down
I can confirm it's also white in Washington...
KC lead 10-0
Pittsburgh also lead by a TD.
Brady picked off. Browns have it at the 50.
It's just wrong that there is so much more snow in Philadelphia than Green Bay
It is starting to look a bit better than this now
http://t.co/XgW3oianyc
ooh yay, snow!
The snow in Philadelphia is incredible
i just turned on sky sports 3 and that's, like a good foot or two of snow!!!
It is far better now than it was at the start
How snowy is it?
http://t.co/aVhsGuloLp
This is really fun to watch. It almost seems like the guys went out to the yard after opening their Christmas presents.
It's a crazy game. Players are struggling to run across behind the QB before the snap and some QB throws are just falling out of their hands
We haven't had a substantial snow here yet. I love it so much. I want some. Forecasters say we won't get anything out of this storm.
Does this feel like old times, commenting on multiple threads? :)
Multiple threads and what amounts to a daily thread. Old school sidepodcast
KC lead 24-0
I love that the Lions coaching staff are holding up cards with cartoons on them to signal plays.
TD Detroit
Lions make the two point conversion. No way to make a kick in these conditions
Detroit sending out a group of back up offensive linemen to clear an area to allow the kick off to take place
Darn. Missed that.
KC 30 up now...
Keep watching. It is weird.
Vinatieri missed a field goal vs Bengals
Can't believe the Redskins are so bad
And KC have the ball again.
It must be like kicking a rock.
I don't get why noneof these players have sleeves
ruh roh
ESPN @espn 3m
Adrian Peterson was just carted off the field in Baltimore.
For the love of football, please be OK, All Day.
He's on my team.
I want to see how the fans are staying warm. I remember the Giants game I went to that was frrrrreeeeezing.
Just saw that on TV. He didn't look happy. Will try to get another look at the incident
Someone e-mailed Sky to ask if the Superbowl could be like this game. The Superbowl is at Giants Stadium
No snow at the Jets game in NY
That would be great.
Yeah, it's not doing anything here. We'll get some sleet later tonight, but not much. They may get a bit of snow in NY, but just a little and later.
I would prefer a more straightforward game with less interference from the weather
KC haven't scored for ages. I'm getting bored. It's been at least 10 minutes.
Eagles going for 4th and 7
Didn't work
The snow in the middle of the field is 6 inches deep. The ref took a ruler out and measured it
6 inches of snow on the field.
2 seconds off
Not bad at all
TD Redskins!
Just saw the tackle that put Adrian Peterson out of the game. Didn't look anything special. Just a normal tackle
Eagles coaches holding up a big red card to their defence. I guess that is a simple signal
Lions return a punt for a TD
58 yards
Blocking in this game is just standing in the way. :D
Which must be equivalent to 125 in normal conditions
THe Bengals game just appeared on my screen and I was trying to figure out why it looked weird. No snow
Evening all.
Hey Will^
Hi Will
Some chaos in the snow? I might have to go back and rewatch the carnage.
There seem to be a few empty seats in Washington
http://t.co/HTPeML7ngs
Just before half time the ref took a ruler out and measured 6 inches of snow in the middle of the field
Maybe the Skins' bench should move up to fill the stands - they might get a better outcome from doing so.
Bengals just scored a weird TD in New England.
Excellent! I wonder whether February will bring a crazy Super Bowl...
Someone sent an e-mail with exactly the same question to Sky
Cooper! Great catch.
What a pass by Foles and great catch by Cooper. The only thing Cooper had done before that was to get hit in the face with a pass
TD Philly
haha
Gronkowski went down after a catch and he's screaming.
Gronk seems rather injured... :S
oh god. Gronk got laid out in the Browns game. Being attended to now.
That's not good
He was screaming at the top of his voice.
oh my god. I came to it late and missed that. :(((
Low hit... fine coming. Not that will be much consolation to Pats' fans or his Fantasy owners.
That's what you get for rules that encourage players to hit low. Low hits on the knee.
Never understood that rule.
Poor Gronk. That guy gets injured so much.
Now a turnover by Brady.
Why? Nothing wrong with the hit. It's within the rules. It's the rule that causes that issue.
I think the Pats' season is done if Gronk is out.
Just saw it. That looked really bad. The knee is not meant to bend that way
His right knee looked at the wrong angle on the cart thingy, but maybe that was my eyes playing tricks.
Thought it was targeting the knees, maybe not.
It was at an incredible angle when it was hit. His knee could be trashed
The stadium in Washington: https://twitter.com/dcsportsbog/status/409771204057116672/photo/1
Snow is now 8 inches. I find that hard to believe. I think the ground crew are lying to her
GB leads 22-21 vs Falcons
TD Eagles
This game is amazing - it can and is still be played in soo much snow!
oh man. I used to have McCoy on my team.
I still do.
Oh wow, just saw Gronk's knee/leg on the cart. Had no idea it could twist that much without falling off.
Eagles make the 2 point conversion at the second attempt
:((
Lions 14- Eagles14
Mr C would be interested in the snow game - with the line of scrimmage having changed to being blue.
It always is blue
5-10 inches for Philly, so it could well be 8" on the field. But it's also got be hard to measure with it all being pushed around during the game.
http://www.google.org/publicalerts/alert?aid=12b693d2621f3196&hl=en&gl=US&source=web
I can see it being 8 inches in the end zone but not the rest of the field
98 yards for a Lions TD
http://sidepodcast.com/event/sidepodcast-hangout-season-support-group-kicking-december-winter-withdrawal-assistance#comment-3181963
A time out to clear the ground to let the kicker have a chance
Into or against the wind?
umm... dude... c'mon back.
Not sure but it was for the PAT so not a big deal either way. Screwed it up in the end
LOL, that PAT didn't seem to be from the 2?
They went for 2 points and got a 5 yard penalty
I've gone on to RedZone
Good point.
Why did the Lion run it back, wasn't the ball down? pointless.
So they failed a PAT and a 2PC? Wow. Surely not a first, but must be an elite club.
*Eagle - can't tell in this weather ;)
Oh my goodness, the Pats got blown apart on a nothing play. TD Browns.
McCoy again!
TD-fest has broken out. Le Sean McCoy
Eagles take a 2 point lead. Riley Cooper makes another catch
TD Bengals. AJ Green.
Jokes on twitter about Gronk being brittle, etc., but isn't it a combo of being such a strong player that people target you and bad luck?
He was just unlucky.
And I had the bad fortune of seeing a pic of the moment of impact on his knee. Gross. Completely sideways.
Remember, his previous injuries were caused by coming back too quickly.
and infection.
TD Patriots - finally! Vereen, I think.
One of the awful things about Twitter's always preview
2PC failed, but flags everywhere.
Those of you with Sky keep an eye out for a program on Bo Jackson. It has been shown a couple of times already and it is well worth watching. What he did was amazing
2 PC good. 8 point game.
Meanwhile in Phily: http://t.co/MQhZ2BCehI (via Twitter)
Patriots on the odd-looking 11 points.
McCoy has scored me 29 points. I think that is the best any player has scored in one game for me other than maybe Peyto Manning when he threw 7 TD passes
In a league I am against McCoy and JCharles - 60 points between them.
Ref just announced to the crowd "We cannot see the goal lines"
TD Eagles on 4th and goal
Looks like they're pushed that over
A QB-keeper.
After watching this game, there is no reason why a Super Bowl in the snow cannot be awesome!
That was ridiculous
The hurdle?
Yes
I wouldn't like to see a Superbowl like this. So many problems with the centre getting the ball to the QB
There is that, but it's not a complete disaster, as some of the talking heads might have you believe.
Not as bad as being in a dome with no power.
Agreed. At least this game is still underway.
The second half of this game has been oOK but large parts of the first half were terrible
GB win.
Another Eagles TD
Packers pick off Matt Ryan, Packers win w/o Rodgers - their season is still alive, esp with the Liuons losing, now by even more!
Miami lead in Pittsburgh
Ravens took the lead against Minnesota, that's been reversed very quickly. Inside two minutes.
Indy currently on half of the Bengals' score.
RAVENS LEAD AGAIN!
Vikings pooch kicked it, returned for a TD.
Nice slide.
Why not take the TD though?
run out clock, keep possession
I loved that game.
Ice the game.
Vikings haven't retaken the lead yet.
You were saying?
It was certainly different. I think the second half was much better than the first
VIKINGS LEAD! THEY LEAD AGAIN!
This game was 12-7 with four minutes left, now its 25-22!
~45s left on the clock.
Lions-Eagles from the stands: https://twitter.com/duciswild/status/409749534664040448/photo/1
TD Browns.
Brilliant!
(Not so excited about that)
Does this mean the Pats are going to give up the #2 seed to the Bengals?
Pats also lost their last game against the Browns is 2010 :-/
Depends on tie-breaker.
Just realised the Vikes-Ravens game is the Purple-Bowl.
Wait, what?! another TD in the purple game!?
Ravens look to have taken it!
Ravens awarded a TD, but I think it will get reversed on first look.
Oh my, on second look, that's good. WOW.
I think the Bengals will be 7-3 in Conf, compared to the Pats' 6-4, and the Bengals beat the Pats 13-6 on October 6th, so I think they'll go ahead.
Wow, the Steelers game's ended in a frenzy too!
Steelers with an almost successful hook-&-ladder.
Antonio Brown so nearly had it won.
Out on the 6!
Pats TD.
WOW! Pats have it onsides.
That's close. Did it go to the 40 yd line?
Pats have the ball, but I don't think it went 10 yards.
Doesn't look like it on the replay
Don't think you can reverse the call.
I think it touched a Brown.
Yup - #35
Fozzy Whittaker
Steelers playing rugby passes to work an opening and get a TD
Flag in the endzone in Foxboro
PI in the endzone from a Brown - are they trying to lose?!
That's a soft call, but I remember the Pantheres game, so I'm calling that evens if we win.
*Panthers
TD Pats
Pats TD
PATRIOTS!!!
And Manning threw a pick. Today is getting better and better.
Looks like they are coming to keep the #2 seed after all.
,kkkcs;dddddddddddddddsw
I knew my fantasy team was going too well
Sory, sorry. My cat says hi.
Eli just threw a pick as well.
Meme of the day: https://twitter.com/NFL_Memes/status/409799160909426688/photo/1
Pats win. Wow.
Keenen Allen just made a huge play at the pylon against the Giants, got to check his feet are still in.
Hi Billy, remember this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nURz04Y9s8
Hehehehe
Chargers TD on the Gaints!
Wow, I'm thoroughly exhausted already.
Amazing set of games so far!
Yeah! :)
Russeell Wilson signalling time out and the referee ignores him. Seahawks have to start the play and he gets sack for a loss
Balls, I got rid of the SF defense :-(
Fears that GRONK has a torn ACL - he will get an MRI tomorrow.
Wait, Denver are losing 21-10?
Titans are v good against the pass.
More surprised they've scored 21!
Yeah, that also1
Prater just broke the NFL FG record.
